Reviews of St James Tavern

Great meal. Busy but the bouncer stopped it getting overcrowded. Meal was nice. It is a typical pub and pub grub. If you like that sort of thing, and we do, then you'll love it. Only gripe would be the toilets could do with freshening up. But when they have people walking in of the street to use them, I can understand why they don't bother.

Great little place. Selection of different proper beers was very good. Nice central place. Good for couples or groups. Food wasn't tried but looked really nice. Warm friendly atmosphere. Reasonably priced for London. Would definitely go there again

On busy weekend, we, my wife and I, found an oasis: St James Tavern. very good staff approach on entrance, very gentle. Table with all hygiene care, simple and effective menu (on paper), my wife choose a chicken breast fillet and I a meat pie. I love eat something that we can eat at home but we found at street and it is delicious also. Both meals with no complain in taste, amount and speed. My wife noted something wrong with her beer but I didn't .
As dessert, a chocolate cake like as meals, very good. We did not ask for coffee. Very good time.

This is a cool, cozy pub right in the middle of where you would expect nothing like it (touristy, pre/post theatre area) . St James is a legit brit pub with friendly staff, a seemingly friendly and happy crowd, and good food & drink. we hit this place after Get Up Stand Up and had a great time. They make a great hendricks & fever tree and the fish & chips were super tasty. Everything we were looking for :) We'll be back!

Great atmosphere, good food and cold pints.

Stopped here for a quick lunch and a beer. Nice welcoming ambience with the traditional look of an old English pub. The food was delicious and the beer good. Will visit again when next in this neighborhood.

The lady with tattoos is wonderful and very knowledgable about the area. Helped my husband and I find a good venue near by once they had closed. We were only London for a few days and in the area to see the bob Marley musical but will revisit this pub when I next venture to London. Food is also delicious. Recommend th fish and chips or the vegan burger which according to my daughter was ‘top notch’

Lovely traditional corner pub in very central location.
Good prices for the location (around £6 a pint)
Didn’t eat but food looked good.
Even nicer if they ditched the TV in the corner - just not needed but that’s being picky

I stay nearby this week and visited this amazing pub several times now. Really great food and cocktails. But most impressive is the staff, very friendly and so hard working. Credit to all of you guys! I will be definitely back on my next trip to London.

Peaceful place with wide varieties of lager and ales. The staff are really helpful with choosing drinks, and the bartenders are amazing. Had ordered a pint of guiness and Heineken and side of Chips and all of it were really good. Wouldn't mind going there again when roaming around Piccadilly.
