I recently hosted my 30th birthday in the upstairs room at The Bow Bells and it was perfect! The upstairs room is ideal for a private event - there are great speakers you can plug into, plenty of seating and tables, private toilets just for use for the room hire and even your own bar. The staff were all really friendly and helped us with anything we needed. Dean was super accommodating and also kindly met me in the morning before the pub opened so that I could decorate beforehand. They also do great pizzas which you should definitely try. I would highly recommend The Bow Bells for a private event or if just looking for a traditional London pub with that East End charm! Thanks again!

Awesome pub. Great balance of old and new, authentic and innovative at the same time. Pizzas are top notch, nearly old Napoli quality. And with generous bartenders and lovely people frequenting the premises what else do you need :)

This place is the actual bomb! I’d never been there until last year when my friend had her 30th there. They put us in a gorgeous room upstairs - really light and airy with a bar and sound system, TVs etc. They let us bring our own booze, hooked us up with glasses etc but we could also order food and drink from downstairs. They were so friendly and accommodating (wasn’t even my birthday) but two more of my friends have now hosted there and another one later on this year. Ideal place for a private party but the staff are so friendly and lovely that it’s the perfect place for a pint with friends too!

Overwhelming sense of pride when I walk into this place, whether it is lunch, evening or one for the road, bar staff are friendly and caring. Had a rough night, come in and be cheered up by the bar staff. Ales, larger, banter and pool what more could you want. Highly recommend, feel supersonic when I walk in and up in the sky when I walk out! 10/10

The friendliest pub in the East End! Great food and lovely people, both customers and staff. Really well priced for the area too. Grab some homemade Italian pizza and a pint or check out the gin deal of the week - £7.50 for a double! This is my favourite local and I will always come back.

I visited this pub for the first time the other day and it was fantastic. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming. It was busy but not to the point it felt crowded - brilliant atmosphere. Not your regular pub. It seemed like it wanted desperately to look like an original pub, but the pop music and the menu didn't go well with the atmosphere. Nevertheless the cheese madness burger and the pizza were delicious. Also 10£ for a pint of draught beer and a pizza is a great deal. I would prefer fish and chips, but I didn't mind. They were delicious. They only thing that I disliked was the beer that I ordered. London pride was truly tasteless. It was the first time that I tried this beer but it was like drinking water.

Was a nice pub. Food was generous portions and really tasty. We ducked in for a pint to get out of the rain after being next door for a wedding. Got pretty busy once the Rugby started. A bit narrow to pass in places. I wouldn’t want to be in a wheelchair.

Surely a pizza is not the tipical food you would expect to find in a Pub, but I have to admit that it was really good, better of many pizzas I eat normally in Italy (I'm Italian). I took a pizza and a glass of beer stella artois and these costed me 10,90 pounds. What can I say? Strange but good...

A rare find these days. A cosy relaxing atmosphere can be found here, with food that is excellently made! Situated right next to the town hall in Bow. In the summer outside seating is brim to capacity with lunchers and those needing a drink at the end of a long day. I'd definitely recommend a meal and drink here. Staff are very polite and down to earth. Parking isn't the easiest on this stretch of Bow Road due to the new cycle lanes but that should only be an incentive to leave it at home so you can enjoy a drink if you ask me! 😉

Had a blast from the past listening to the old skool tunes on the tv. Went during lunchtime so was nice and peaceful. Did a bit of working from 'home'. You can order in food since the kitchen in under refurbishment which is great as was craving a burger. They do tea and coffee now didn't before coronavirus but i opted for a cheeky pint. Recommend it to anyone wanting to get out and have a good working space. Great to book as well as theres a function room avaliable to hire upstairs. Work social may have to be here.

Went to this pub with mates to watch scotland vs england even though not much into football. This pub changed my mind about football. The atmosphere was amazing. I felt really welcomed. One of the first pubs where i have felt like i was part of the pub. Everyone was getting on there was no drama. There was one table where a lovely lady had made a big spread of food from home which she was offering to all the tables. How lovely is that. Their tables all had their england gear on and even had great banter with the scottish as they was seated upstairs. All in all would defintely recommend this family run east end pub. Coming back as they will be doing various different events after the euros. Cant wait for bingo and pub quizzes.

I came to this restaurant at the hour lunch, they treat me really well. Nice burguer they have over there, not sure what i ordered, i just remembered that it was delicious. I just read that there were some discrimination to a customer. To be fair i can not talk about that, but what i can said is that as hispanic i went there and they treat me really well, asking me at everytime if everything was okay. Just one suggestion, could you please take a photo to your menu? The last photo of the menu is from 2017 and your website is down.

West Ham pub - access blocked to other football supporters on match days. The pub itself is shabby, not in a chic way, and looks like what you would expect an old British pub to look like. The food here is insanely good, however. It's obscene how good the food is here and it's absolutely worth visiting just for the food. The fries are second to none and their burgers are better than any pub food has any right to be.

Very quiet Monday lunchtime. I was the only in there for awhile. . Authentic characterful decor with arouma of stale beer - the antidote for large pub chains! Could do with a bit of TLC. So don't believe the negative review of disgruntled individual. I've been coming here for years and never experienced abuse, poor service or racism. The pub embraces all kinds of diversity with open arms. I recommend it to all for a visit of good drink, food, company and local culture. My dad loves it here too! Also really handy for pre event drinks if heading to the London Stadium.

Their pies!!! They have recently adopted a traditional menu of pie, mash and liquor... The pies are freshly made on site using local meat and veg. The pastry is absolutely to-die-for, the filling is generous and moist. The gravy is just thick enough and packs a punch. I didn't have mash... But my husband did and he loved it. I had the chips. Now this will sound ott, but these are the best chips I've ever eaten. Can't explain. They're triple cooked. We've visited the pub a few times, but we'll be back on a weekly basis.

Despite being reputed as one of the most haunted pubs in London, I've yet to see a ghost here, which immediately loses a star, in my eyes. That said, this is a staple stop in London's East End. The selection is pretty much exactly what you'd expect, and certainly won't disappoint ... unless what you were expecting was exactly anything that would be considered a craft beer. What you will find are a solid selection of standard English ales, lagers, ciders, with a few foreign faves thrown in for good measure. Staff is friendly, despite having to deal with ghostly shenanigans on a daily basis. I was expecting a few of them to at least have had their whits worn somewhat thin by spookery and annoyances of a supernatural order; however, in all my dealings, they seem pleasant, welcoming, and entirely sane. Which, if I'm to be honest, are all things that I prize highly in the staff of establishments that I frequent. Patrons are an assortment of non-ethereal regulars, students, and a growing number of younger folk who have started to populate the area. The Bow Bells is a great stop when you want to enjoy the game with friends, grab a few pints, or simply avoid the gastropubs that are slowly catching on in the East. If you're looking for spooks, spectres, poltergeists, pixies, or other beings of a non-corporeal nature, perhaps you'll be luckier than I.
