A gem of a pub in Rotherhithe. I hope Isambard was indeed a regular! A very comfy place for a beer. Screens showing sport, a lovely garden, complete with a selection of beach huts. Screen in the garden too! Great place for a beer

Best local gem discovered so far! Lovely decor with a great selection of cocktails and the perfect garden for the summer. Staff is very friendly too, will definitely try to come back as often as possible.

Had the pleasure of experiencing the living legend that's DJ Patrick on Saturday night. Been his friend since the days of the ship and whale, and he's never lost his ability to give a great night. Fingers crossed, he's hopefully going to get a monthly slot here, the pub needs it. Hours of your favourite boogie tunes, what's more to want? Come check him out. The pub will be rocking.

Lovely pub, bar staff are fantastic and super friendly. The outside area is great, they have little pods where you can sit and enjoy a drink. Highly recommended place to go if your in the area.

I really like this pub...Great little outdoor space with a TV that shows the sport and 3 'sheds'with booths as well as heaters. It's down the road from Rotherithe Station and across from a shop if needed. The pub is LGBTQIA+ friendly and often has Drag queens, quiz nights, karaoke and comedy nights. Always had good lagers on tap and a wide variety of spirits and some wines to choose from. Friendly place and atmosphere and worth a visit.

I went for a birthday of dear friend and we were in the garden. The garden is really nice and cozy, with wooden shelters, benches and pillows! Heating available. The indoor section was pleasantly decorated for Halloween. Good offer of drinks and the pizza is ok, but only if you are hungry, not for a dinner. Possible to watch football. The experience was positive I the pub is recommended.

THE TOP SPOT TO WATCH THE MARATHON! My gf and I visited "The Brunel" for the marathon and it was an amazing experience. Super friendly owner Ed and staff, great quality drinks and superb DJ. What a brilliant pub! I’m not local to the area, but came in with some friends after a Fisher game. Bar staff were all great; very friendly and put the Scotland game on for us, and the regulars were very welcoming. Has the feel of your local pub even if you’re an outsider.

Love my local pub. The staff are great, it retains the locals regardless of numerous changes over the last few years but the recent management have done a good job, improving the garden, introducing a pizza oven and knowing the clientel. Well done xx

Ok if you're a man and like football . However, the pinot grigio and Chilean merlot were very nice and the barmen were friendly. 😊

It was pretty quiet when we there, though met a few of the regulars, who were a friendly bunch. Friendly staff & good service was had. The Guinness happened to be on offer the night we were there & was just £2.70 per pint. A nice bonus 👌

The only thing I can regret is that this moment didn't last forever. From things you must have: pizza, neck oil beer, aperol (made by Joao), Long Island (made by Peter). I love this guys! I had the most amazing first visit at this pub which is under new management again, this time by two gay guys- though it isn't a gay pub. Fabulous atmosphere, friendly young people, and liberal historically well versed old timers. It's clean, stylish- though keeping the old atmosphere fitting to the local area. Will definitely be going back with my family! The outside area is beautiful, the staff are friendly and can serve quickly, prices are reasonable. Everyone was getting on with each other and the place was comfortably packed. Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Definitely recommend. Don't know what's happened here in the past, but right now this is one of London's undiscovered gems. A veritable oasis of liberal London. I'll see you there!

Good selection of beer, wine and other beverages - alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The place is under new ownership/management and has definitely been much improved as it is a nice local pub in it's area. It also has a big outdoor seating area which is screened off during the warm months by foliage, but for all you smokers it offers a place to go with your drink and friends with seating for all rather than hanging about on the street. Highly recommended.

Proper London pub. With a great atmosphere. We were just passing and went in for a quick refreshment. Spurs v Man. U was on telly so it was packed and lively. We stayed to watch the match. Was fun with lively banter and friendly welcoming vibe. (The football result was disappointing and a travesty but you can't win them all). Staff were great. The pub is in a very historic area and there are other great pubs and the river nearby. If you want a historic, scenic, cultural post industrial afternoon out with beer this is a world class location.

Went here after the nearby Mayflower pub called last orders. The Brunel is open later and they had a really fun karaoke evening going with a very mixed crowd. We had lots of fun. Drinks are reasonable.

Recently renovated with a good feel to the place, decent selection of drinks (good gins - try the rhubarb gin and ginger ale) and snacks (I recommend the pork scratchings). Bit of a garden for warmer days. Near the river, but not by it which means it doesn't get stupidly busy on summer weekends. Shows sports on the TVs and has a selection of board and card games. Nice place, i recommend giving it a whirl.

A curious start. Came in for a Christmas Day drink and the place was buzzing with with high spirits and a friendly family atmosphere. Today, I've been asked where I'm from as if I looked lost, or Old Bill. But now I'm talking about the Arsenal game like I know and love football. So there is still hope. It's an old local pub in a new world, so adventure is the word.

Friendly staff and good atmosphere

A once traditional eastend salt-of-the-earth pub has now been transferred into a beautiful window-box establishment. With a deceptively airy interior, refreshing hues and both patrons, landlords and staff who will happily engage you with light, cheery conversation. In recent times, this establishment has been rather sucessfully brought from the 19th century into the 20th century's modern and contemporary expectation! Enjoy!
