Reviews of The Castle, Tooting
J.
Great bar and restaurant, the outside doesn't do it justice. The back area of the restaurant and covered garden are particularly lovely. The food was delicious and the staff were efficient and attentive. I had lamb and the potato dauphinoise was the star of the plate. They have an extensive drink selection which includes, beers, lagers, wines, cocktails and all the usual soft drinks and the food menu has a generous selection. All in all a great all rounder.

Went for a Sunday roast and had a really nice meal. The venue is spacious, nice interior and exterior and staff are friendly.
The food was good, wouldn't say its my favourite Sunday roast in Tooting but definitely in the top 5. The roast came out fairly soon after ordering hence it was probably prepared. Portion sizes were generous and tasted nice.
S. T.
One of the best pubs in Tooting Broadway with good food and reliable customer service. The sitting terrace in the back is so amazing. Looking forward to some sunny days in here 🌞
G. L.
Very nice food and great service 👍
I am here always happy 😊
N. B.
Wonderful pub! Delicious food, efficient service and friendly staff. We booked an area for a family gathering and were well looked after. Thank you so all the staff working 3:45pm - 9pm on February 28th 2022.
N.
Lovely setting, huge pub. Food was ok. Service was slow as it was a weekday and fewer staff split across a big venue. I had to go and get our menus and look for someone to order, not really the point if we are paying for service
C. L.
Charlie the bartender was amazing! Came in for one drink and he was so charming and accommodating that we stayed the whole night !!
He recommended drinks with great knowledge and never stopped making us laugh !
An absolute amazing experience all down to this man!
Thank you for a great night xxxx
C. K.
Great pub very friendly and helpful staff.
First time I have been there when the quiz was on. Great quiz and very busy
Excellent steak
What more could you ask for
C. H.
Love this pub. We sat in a booth with a lovely fire nice & cosy
Great selection of beers Ales. Bar staff super efficient, atmosphere happy/ chilled ...
J. W.
Must be the worst pub in Tooting. Rude staff, massive queues, takes ages to get served!! A good choice of (expensive) drinks and a nice garden though.
K. T.
This is the most nicest venue I have been to in a long time. Very spacious and lavish too , lovely grdn very large. The interior is decorated to a very high standard . Very plush I must say. The staff are wonderfully polite , and yes they smile. Good to take friends and family to. 100 stars the most I have ever given and well deserved.
M. T.
What an incredible pub!!! Firstly it's huge, secondly the decor is beautiful, thirdly the outdoor area is one of the best I've seen! So amazingly styled. Great selection of beers and wines. Food is to a really high standard. Highly recommended this place, one of my favourites!!
I. M.
Was a little disappointed with the roast dinner after reading the description on the menu as there were a number of items missing £18.00 worth! I feel it wasn't!
Service was friendly and efficient
J. G.
Went in few weeks ago for a dinner and few beers with my mate. Had smoked mackerel as a starter which was one of the best starters i ever had, cooked to perfection follow by an amazing pork chop with mid potatoes and salad. All splashed with tank meantime lager. Had a great time, service pretty quick and staff very friendly. Highly recommended.
E. G.
Lovely food and ambience. The triple cooked chips were delicious, along with a steak. Will definitely return!
A. D.
Fantastic outdoor seating area for dinner and drinks with friends. Friendly Friday vibes. If I was to come again I'd book a table in one of the sheltered outdoor cabins.
Wide selection on the menu to suit variety of needs. Some may think it's a little pricey for a pub chain, but it was backed up by decent quality. I paid £17.50 for Chicken, leek & Oxford blue cheese shortcrust pastry pie with greens and crushed Jersey Royals. It was delicious!
Order through the Youngs app and food and drinks are brought to your table.
A. A.
Absolutely love this pub. The outdoor area is awesome, it’s MASSIVE and you can always find a table
L. M.
After dreadful pints in a Youngs pub in Wimbledon, we weren’t sure about risking another one, but glad we did. Lovely Young’s real ales, served by friendly bar staff. Happy to recommend.
J. W.
Large pub, outdoor seating available. Well designed interiors - manages to fuse the traditional with the contemporary with reassuring ease. Comfortable seating , relaxed ambience. Cheerful, friendly staff. They do an excellent breakfast
A. R.
Great trendy bar with restaurant. Very spacious and well laid out. Highly recommend.
M. M.
Two cocktails were poorly made with one being sent back and the other having missing ingredient added at the table by ourselves. Not a clear understanding of allergies by foh staff. Good roast but not the best in Tooting.
D. G.
Lovely food, nice modern chilled out atmosphere, great beer garden and can bring your dog!
R. W.
A pleasant enough environment — although it's the first time I've ever seen an ale house with a dedicated Baby Changing Room!! Tells you something about the gentrification of Tooting, and consequent price of bar food (£15.50 for a burger) at this public house.
S. R.
Decent pub. A group of us were here for an xmas party. The special xmas menu with lots of finger food (decent food) was plentiful and tasty. Initially I was sad there was no xmas desert bites menu but this would have been unnecessary. Totally stuffed!
P. W.
Close to Tooting Broadway tube. Great service and nice outside space. The cabins are especially good if you want a private function.
P. B.
Nice outdoor space but over priced drinks (c20% premium compared to other pubs in the area). Poor value food also. I paid £21 for a roast in there today and would rate it at £10 worth of value (see picture). They even pocket the VAT cut.
J. F. -. B.
One of ,if not the top pub resteraunt in Tooting to dine in with a choise 8 starts, 11 mains and 6 puddings to go for
This place is moderate to expensive in it's prices
£4.50 for a bitter shandy
Dined here with a party of 20
Orders take and food on tables done very quickly .
Disappointed with the Grilled baby squid and funnel which is served COLD
I personally like mine warm.
Could not fault the Partridge thou at £16 it could have done with a bit more veg.
As for the chocolate brownie a bit dry
Very attentive staff.
Been here before but my first meal here
All going well I wiĺl be back
V. P.
Ordered a vegan salad and my friend got a Sunday roast. Salad was nice but a bit dry, roast was also a bit dry, sweet potato fries were lovely though. Was just a bit surprised they didn’t have any dairy free milk (and did not even offer an explanation for it) and they were also out of the beef roast (again, no warning before we ordered). Service was just a bit disappointing but the place is lovely
S. E.
Incredible service! Claire especially is such a considerate and attentive warm waitress. We had two starters and a steak main... everything was amazing as always EXCEPT the goats cheese starter... far too sweet... quince jelly... the reduction... all too much sugar. Otherwise perfect as always... get a roast for a real Sunday treat !!
M. D.
Good place. Nice common areas. Staff polite and friendly. Good furniture. Feel relax in there.
N.
Really nice outdoor seating with food options. They have decks and huts in the outdoor seating and the indoor venue looks great.
We got our first two beers right on time, but the third one was delayed by 30 minutes (for beers from the tap!!). We eventually asked them for a refund and left.
Poor service and the staff are not very friendly.
A. H.
If you want a pub with loads of space, this one is great. It also has massive outdoors area with heated huts.
A. S.
Ok pub if you are 18 and don’t mind going to Covid super spreader events. All the staff we encountered were from an agency and they did no t appear to have any permanent staff. Had a dried out burger for lunch. If you’re looking for a gastro pub forget about this one.
B. C.
Full of great atmosphere and a fine selection of beers. Always an enjoyable visit.
J.
Really efficient and friendly staff who helped make a birthday celebration more special. Nice atmosphere.
f. H.
Great place to relax and bonus of poss best outside space in tooting and welcoming
Friendly staff and our dogs are welcomed too well be back soon
G. M.
Big airy pub and nice sized garden with huts and tables. Will one day check out the bake off tent. Good is a good quality as expected at any youngs pub, well matched with accompaniments. All staff seem to be knowledgeable in the wines available and if they don't, they will say or ask someone else. Makes a difference
M. H.
Beautiful bar/cafe/restaurant. A must to in Tooting. To chill with friends and have a drink or to have a proper meal. The food is a little expensive but delcious.
F. G.
Had a lovely lunch here with family. It was quiet at lunch time. Food was lovely. Staff very friendly. It was also nice to see that they clearly had regular customers too! Would recommend
D. G.
Nice venue, spacious with a great outdoor space, food was nice. Would definitely come again.
B. H.
Lovely large inside area and also a large furnished outside area .. food was lovely will definitely visit again
N. M.
Busy place. Helpful staff. Outside space was great. Food was delicious
M. S.
A trendy gastro pub in the heart of trendy Tooting. The atmosphere is livley and bustling, it's the place to be.
Quality piped music at the right volume makes a pleasant experience.
Beers and wines from around the world, cocktails, liqueurs, tea and coffee.
The restaurant is pukka and extends the length of the pub. It's usually full so booking.ahead is preferable. The menu is extensive but a tad on the expensive side.
The only disappointment was the chef, he cannot make gravy or custard, far too thin for my liking.
There are two floors both with table service which is excellent.
There is wheelchair access.and toilet facilities for the disabled and all toilet facilities are clean and tidy.
Cash or card is the way to pay..
I. W.
Lots of room & garden space nice with wooden sheds. Staff very friendly but bit slow serving. Food looks good although didn't have time to try it
A. P.
Lovely clean cozy comfy place..just add some more choices on the menu , bit of pasta on the kids meal please..
T. T.
Great pub, recently modernised with great food. Tad pricey than what it used to be with an upmarket yuppy crowd and the local hospital staff.
A. V.
Great atmosphere, friendly service unfortunately supplied with limited knowledge about the meals served, my pork was definitely more burnt than roasted. For the future maybe a little less cool and somewhat more professional?
l. b.
The garden is lovely, and the food is really good too! The Burger Shack was a great addition to the menu, always top notch tastes! Nice to see a pub where the staff are nice consistently, and quick to bring me a drink!
M. M.
Wicked place. Lots of young people and good vibes. The booths outside are really cool in the summer and the place is very big. Will be going back with my girlfriend's in the future.
K. M.
Absolutely love this pub. Amazing beer garden all year round, great food and friendly service.
P. H. (.
Lovely bright pub good beer and menus
S. S.
Spacious place. Looks nice. Friendly service. Felt COVID safe.
z. t.
Very nice place. A lot of space interesting disagne.
D. R.
Decent pub on Tooting High Street.
Food is good but expensive. The inside decor is nice and the outside space is big.
Pre-lockdown it was always rammed full of people and super noisy. Good if you want to sink a few noisy pints on a Friday or fancy a Sunday Lunch. Beware the bottomless brunch types.
A. G.
Lovely little place with outside booths and fire heaters to keep you warm
A. B.
Excellent pub, internal outdoor seating in back with individual huts for semi privacy if required, very friendly staff
B. V.
Nice place, good food, good drinks. Prices feel a bit more like what you'd expect in zone 1 or 2, not zone three though. Good (and lots of) outdoor space and tables.
A. W.
Huge pub with amazing outside space. Great for a COVID-safe party in the open air booths
G. S.
Very nice pub/grub.
Had a lovely afternoon lunch with family.
Because of covid place was very quiet.
It had the covid check and trace app so customers could quickly scan themselves in.
Food was excellent, nice choice (try the triple cooked chips mmm).
Service was quick and waitress was very polite.
Price was very economical.
Can highly recommend.
S. W.
Nice big pub but with lots of nooks to hide away in. Table service was very slow (30+ mins from order to delivery) and drinks only OK.
M. T.
Always amazing. The decor, the service and the atmosphere are always spot on.
P. M.
Nice pub, spacious beer garden, huge but deceptively small from the outside
A. P.
Great deco and very attentive staff however, it's grossly overpriced. We ordered 2 small bottles of water not realising that they are over £5 a bottle. That's a rip off for a small bottle of water!!! Also they should do something about the ground floor toilets, they were disgusting.
H. E.
A clean, l
pleasant and spacious place to relax and chat or work alone in and a very good outdoor area with huts
P. H.
Great selection of drinks, good food. Only loses a star because they won't promote Gav's Tinder.
L. L.
Good open plan pub. Large outdoor area with shacks and now with a big circus tent so you stay dry outdoors even in London weather. Good for families. A bit pricy.
A. S.
Enormous lively pub with a good selection of beer.
M. C.
Lovely, huge, like a tardis you don't expect there to be so much space, but it keeps going and outside is lovely, too. Have already booked to visit again.
K. F.
Pub’s ordering app crashed a few times when we were there but overall was a really nice atmosphere and the outdoor seating area is well set up.
D. H.
Wow! I had no idea this place had such a lovely beer garden tooked away in the heart of tooting. Our booth had a TV, lots of cushions and a fireplace. Great place to wind up or wind down with a great group of people.
s. l.
Simply wonderful experience .
Very warn and comforting surrounding 🌹❤🌹 Yours sincerely scott lee Valentine bent
z. z.
Lovely place good costumer service strongly advise specially on the weekends
A. D.
Pricey but excellent burger and fries or chips as we call them in mitcham.
R. M.
I was surprised with the quality and taste of the food at The Castle. Absolutely amazing. This place also has great spaces for functions. Try the burger and tell me I'm wrong!
C. M.
Popped in for after work drinks and ended up staying all night because the service was so good! Ceren was honestly the best!
M. B.
Amazing pub in the middle of Tooting. Well impressed with the place.
A. B.
Covid Edition:
The Castle has done well to keep everyone feeling safe, the tables outside were very well spaced apart and staff taking drinks orders at your table. My friends ordered some bar snacks, which came like tapas and looked excellent quality.
The service was also very good with staff being very vigilant. Also. Good tequila range!
M.
Had to wait a while to be seated but the food was good 👍
C. C. (.
Youngs pub, gaurunteed good beer. Food delicious but don't go for a cheap lunch
G. C.
Beautiful pub with a big garden . Some of the food on the menu wasn't available on that day. I fancied a stake and chips and I ended up eating sausage and mash. I was surprised when I asked for the bill to see they had added the VAT on top of the cost displayed on the menu. Beautiful place but overpriced. Be prepared to pay £ 72 for two bottles of Primitivo Red wine. Stores are selling it for around £8 per bottle.
A. S.
A bit on the expensive side but by-far the best pub in Tooting (and within a huge radius in south London). Staff are really good and you can sometimes order at your table if they have enough people on. Food is also quite expensive but very nice. It’s a nice spot to get away from the chaos of Tooting high street.
Only other annoying thing is often there are so many tables reserved you struggle to find anywhere to sit but there’s lot of space outside for the summer.
Overall one of my favourite pubs in the country.
I. P.
Excellent service of experienced and friendly staff. Enjoying a risotto of mushrooms and black truffles priceless(that you should not miss) and we crowned ourselves with a superb brownie. We applaud especially to Roch, Alison and Rodney for their attention and support.
S.
It's got a great beer garden and the burgers are banging, but over £6 for a pint, there are better alternatives in Tooting.
L. D.
I really like the food here. Very good great space, huge outdoor too and kid friendly
A. I.
Very nice place. Private garden. Large indoor sitting area. Clean and overall looking very good and cosy. The only issue I had was that it is quite expensive place. If you order a soft drink like coke or lemonade then they will charge you £3!!! Crazy for a place which if far away from central London. That is the only the reason why I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5. One more thing. The Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
B. H.
I cannot express enough how lovely the castle is. all staff are friendly and kind, the food is delicious. the decor is beautiful. its one of those rare gems in London that suit the whole family.
also cant forget the garden!!!! Lush!! cozy and intimate but has some big shared space for everyone and i imagine it would be ideal for a party!
j. d.
I'm not one for writing reviews but I feel The Castle definitely deserve one.
The whole experience from booking a table to saying goodbye was such a pleasant experience.
The garden is an amazing space, with cozy, decorated huts and masses of seating outside. The pub inside has a lovely, friendly atmosphere and the restaurant area is perfect for an intimate meal or family/friends get together.
Our meal, a belated birthday treat for my daughter and her husband, was excellent, wonderful food served by helpful, friendly and attentive staff. A very pleasant experience.
I highly recommend The Castle and will definitely go back again.
H. T.
Lovely pub, with great outdoor pods. Food was delicious and staff friendly...Great experience. Thank you
f. s.
Nice Sunday roast. Large portion with all the trimmings.
a. m.
Nice space great food. A bit pricy but well worth the money. Amazing outdoor space for summer and winter.
A. S.
Really nice atmosphere with a good pub quiz on a Wednesday. Staff are always very accommodating and friendly and although the food is a bit pricey it is delicious! Great range on things at the bar. no stick tables or floors. All around a nice pub!
F. K.
Such a nice venue, great service and the food was fantastic for the price.
D. S.
Edited my original review (below) after the management moved heaven and earth to make it up to us.
Today, a busy day as it was Father’s Day, we were treated to a round of delicious burgers and fries. The waiting staff were extremely polite and all the food arrived on time. And my pint was free (Father’s Day!!) which it though very thoughtful.
I understand every restaurant has an off day, and the Castle proved today that their good days are excellent. I will certainly be visiting on the regular.
(Original review)
In the restaurant section, one of our meals was an hour late. They then put the meal twice on the bill. For an area that claims to be a restaurant I feel this is unacceptable service. The management refused to take the late plate off the bill, which would be standard in a restaurant. Poor standard of service, sadly. I will be attending any of the other high quality gastro pubs in the area, other than this one.
D. B.
Great local pub - interior is warm and welcoming, staff friendly, and the food so good my friend and I basically rolled out the door afterwards!
O. P.
Expensive but well decorated. Plenty of space to comfortably hangout.
J. M.
The Castle has great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in a really nice setting. Oh and the garden is brilliant with covered drinking and socialising area's. Very nice. I haven't tried the food yet but it looks very good.
C. K.
Amazing food :) totally worth the money and the waitress took a really good photo of our massive party. Thank you!
A. R.
It's a Youngs pub so it's a bit on the expensive side compared to other places but it has a very nice outdoor area that's great in the summer.
R. P.
Love the beer garden - so nice. Staff were on it... Great atmosphere. Always a nice pub to go to!
E. W.
I really like the ambience here. I've been a few times and had lunch/drinks/done pub quiz and each has been different. There's a good menu (I had the veggie Sunday lunch and it was very tasty!) and plenty of seating.
The quiz is fun...great food tasting round and not too ridiculously hard. Downside was quite a lot of bad language which wasn't to my taste but you might not mind.
L. S.
Nice but outrageously priced pints
A. W.
Nice bar with enough space to sit and a great outdoors area. They kick you out at about half 10 or 10 for the neighbours which is fair enough. The bar staff are really friendly and get the orders right and the food is good. Definitely a good pub for a drink in the area.
J. G.
A good experience all round. Although, wine menu starting at over 25 pounds is steep for a pub.
m. f.
Really good food and nice garden
L. A.
Nice food clean bathrooms. We were here for a birthday and they reserved a place inside the pub where the kids had space to play and run around. Service was very good too even though it was so busy. Will definitely be back.
N. T.
Nice pub - the best in Tooting. It's very busy on a Friday and Saturday night. In the summer the beer garden is in high demand so it's best that you get there early. Wednesday is quiz night, so beware it can be quite loud. The food is decent and staff are also pleasant.
H. T. -. T.
Lovely establishment with a nice garden area
L. B.
Great place, probably my most favourite pub in Tooting, but they're so badly understaffed that I've walked out more often than actually stayed, because I'm not waiting 10 minutes to buy a pint. How hard is it to hire extra bar staff? It's 8 quid an hour to pay them, and the pub's definitely losing more money than that by people giving up on getting served. Everything is great about this place, if you're lucky or patient enough to get your order in.
B. D. S.
I’ve been here pretty much solidly twice a week for the last 6 years ... today however I ordered fresh lime and soda as I’m actually not drinking today. I got charged for lime cordial . When asked about barmaid said for them to chop them and the actual limes cost money. Pretty sure , every bar in London does not charge for fresh lime and soda ☹️
C. m.
Lovely pub very spacious beautiful garden.make sure you download their app to order drinks though.
B. M. S.
Good food, good selection of drinks, good pub
A. A.
Beautiful and spacious interior design. Bathrooms both on the ground and first floor. Nice garden for lazy summer evenings. Very good pub food and fantastic service. Only complain the open kitchen in the middle of the place and just opposite the long tables (that people usually reserve for big groups) that creates a rather suffocating atmosphere and stinks clothes, hair etc.
J. B.
Great spot for a local drink, a Sunday roast, or even an outdoor space to celebrate. Getting attention of staff outdoors can sometimes be a little difficult, however the overall experience is good and will go back.
A. C.
One of the nicer pubs (looks wise) in Tooting but it's not really known for good quality food. I've eaten here only once and wouldn't go back. Service can be quite slow at times, even if it's not busy. The outdoor area is really nice though, especially during the summer.
D. W.
Great decor, service and music! Nice selection of Teapigs teas too when one isn't in the mood for drinking.
S. B.
What a great pub. It's like a tardis. The pub seems to go back forever, where people can sit for food and drinks. Very clean. Great for both small and large groups. Didn't have anything to eat there, but the ales that were on were particularly good. Not only did they have the usual Youngs but also Hobgoblin. Staff were very professional & welcoming. First time I've been to this pub, and will definitely be going back.
A. S.
All the beautiful people of Tooting gravitate here. I love this pub and the refurbishment added some awesomeness to the outdoor spaces. Great food bit always book of your planning on going for a roast on the weekends. It's family friendly and just a lovely warm place to hang out. Did I mention the beautiful people!
B. B.
This pub is super cool and has a really quirky garden with pods etc.
Y. B. G.
The food was nice and staff were friendly
J. F.
Lovely food, really good, worth the rather expensive prices, and the staff very attentive. Best place to eat in the area
B. C.
Good, covid secure and works really well. Good food also. Make sure you download the Youngs app in order to get food and drink ordered to your table.
H.
Love love love!
The staff were so so helpful and friendly.
Food was AMAZING! We got to the pub 15 minutes before the kitchen closed on a Sunday night, unfortunately the roasts and steaks were off the menu because they had run out, however, the chef rustled us up two pork belly roasts and they were seriously good! For starter I had scallops and my boyfriend "Ham, egg and chips" which was a modern take on the classic.
I will definitely be back here soon. The setting is lovely with a huge outdoor area with heaters and fires, very impressive.
B. A. N.
What an amazing place the castle has all kind of sitting areas you fancy except the roof. Big space inside and outside nice vibe and plenty of open space and garden. 4 starts because we had to wait long time at the bar wondering who is in charge/ service so we can order. Little enhancements on the bar operations and 5 stars for sure
C. E.
Overpriced beer, slightly sterile feeling and some quite rude service- seemingly no system to booking and asked to vacate a table when there was no one on the others. Huge outdoor covered and heated seating area though
T. L.
Huge pub perfect for a few drinks in the day or to get the juices flowing before a big night out. Food is good too for classic pub grub with a slightly fancier feel.
M. C.
Nice atmosphere, needs more staff
N. D.
Probably the nicest pub in Tooting, very popular with the locals, it get very busy on weekend evenings. It has a lovely and big beergarded with comfy seats and fireplaces and it is fully covered. They serve quite a wide selection of local and international beers a lot of it is on draft. The food on the other hand is nothing to rave about quite average pub food. There are plenty of other good restaurants near by, I only go to castle for a drink.
J. G.
A well decorated and quaint pub with w good choice and variety on the menu. Food was well done and delicious. The prices are reasonable so I will return and enjoy my time there. Can recommend to others.
N. D.
Excellent wee spot.
Very nice garden area for smoker's. Food is top class, bit pricy but quality.
Around £16 for burgers.. But what a burger.
H. S.
A cavernous pub, delightful conservatory area and huge outside garden perfect for summer. It gets very busy on a sunny day and booking is recommended. Food service on weekends can also be a little slow due to the sheer weight of orders. Food is worth the wait however.
A. D.
Really lovely pub! We arrived for a drink on a Thursday evening and they let us sit in the restaurant as the main bar was full.
Staff are lovely and there's a good atmosphere.
W. B.
Excellent facilities and a large garden with loads of seating, heat lamps and second mini kitchen. Bar selections are pretty decent and the food is standard pub fayre, but generally done well. Always busy but worth stopping by during the summer months.
V. H.
Nice pub- haven't been for years, but visited yesterday. Good service and beer. Unfortunately I had to go to the mens toilet- which had suffered from one of your customers having a severe bowel problem- rendering the cubicle unusable, and a health hazard. I quietly raised the matter with one of the staff- who asked me to speak to another member of staff as this was not an area he was responsible for.
I, this time, told him to sort it out now .
Hopefully it was.
J. R.
Overall I thought it was a good venue, cool, fun trendy, very Clapham feel upmarket pub with a great outback garden, reasonable priced drinks, very busy. Good point before it became really busy is that it had table service for drinks which really helped, and they should push that a little more as it makes going to a packed bar a thing of the past.
L. C.
Lovely place to visit for food or drinks, the outside area is really lovely and there are cosy huts to sit in also. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall a nice place to visit and recommend.
S. S.
Ok Pub very pricey which is worth it if you're in the garden area otherwise not. Food expensive for what it is. Not a good option for sports.
J. A.
It's a really nice and chilled pub! We sat in the garden, the food looked good especially the roasts, However I didn't order any for my self. The only reason I mark it down was we had a bit of a mix up with drinks, originally we asked for a raspberry gin, single. We were told that there was no raspberry gin so instead ordered rubarb, we where served a blood orange gin double all by table service. We then complained as the person who ordered it was driving, the barstaff said she couldn't just change the drink because we didn't like the taste of it - that was not the problem, anyway in the end they refunded my friend for one of the shots of Gin which she shouldn't have been charged for in the first place, and we swapped drinks between us. The person who originally took our order in the garden then came over and announced my friend had been cheeky and got herself a free shot! Which actually embarrassed her and I thought was extremely unprofessional.
I would visit again, and definitely try the food next time, but I wouldn't use the tableservice myself, also when I went to grab a coffee from the bar they had a big bottle of raspberry gin in the front row !

Went here last night, good time as always! Staff are always friendly, good atmosphere! Great music for a Friday night!
Also had my birthday here in the summer, great outdoors area, hired a hut which was fun!
Food is always great!
V. H.
Had another excellent meal here last night. I've been many times over the past few years but never got around to posting a review! The staff are always very friendly. The wines available are great - highly recommend the white rioja!
R. W.
Pros: great for group bookings, really attentive / excellent table service, accommodating with ordering and paying, chilli cheese balls starter was delicious, lamb roast was a hit, great atmosphere - buzzing and busy, lovely outdoor 'cabins' with log fires.
Cons: They had already run out of both the veggie roast and the hake main by 3pm on the Sunday, drinks are quite expensive compared to nearby establishments, two people ordered the pig cheek starter which did not match the description on the menu and was a big disappointment.
S. R. L.
Great pub in the heart of Tooting! Nice looking, dog friendly, good service and prices are not bad.
Good place to grab a quick pint or catch up with some friends over good drinks. Really liked the fresh Meantime barrels on display!
N. J.
Great place for drinks especially with the big outside area
A. J.
My husband, daughter and I eat at the Castle on a very regular basis, with Sunday lunch being my favorite. The fish and chips also has a great chilli twist! The staff and restaurant manager are amazingly friendly and helpful. I love this place, it's food and drink range are great and the staff couldn't be more helpful!
Almost don't want to post this as it's hard enough to get a table!!!! I think that alone speaks volumes about it's quality.
N. L.
10 of us, my wife & I (50s), plus our 2 children & 6 of their friends, went for lunch yesterday 7th December. Very busy, at about 2.30 pm we ordered food for 5 then were told the kitchen was closing. We argued, and won, so all 10 got a meal. Great food! Roast beef was fantastic, burgers great too, We would definitely go again. Very reasonably priced too.
l. b.
Went there for Christmas lunch with my husband. The interior was surprising, much bigger than I expected and could cope with many more people than were there on Christmas day. We're shown to our table by an extremely courteous waitress who was full of the joy of Christmas. Drinks supplied, as pre ordered, first course served, crab thermador which was an excellent mix of white and brown meat. Hubby chicken liver parfait, smooth and very tasty. Sorbet too much like ice cream for me but refreshing. Vegetarian main course, excellent, Turkey NOT Dry. Christmas pudding acceptable, cheese superb! The only on thing that let the whole experience down was service. Probably not an issue if in a group of people, but if you had children or us too slow. We will return in the New Year for their standard menu as very impressed with their food!
M. S.
Nice atmosphere but the roast we had was very disappointing. The bread sauce was more like porridge. The food was just about warm. The potatoes was over cooked. But they did take money off our bill. Comw here for the drinks but the food isn't worth the money.
H. R.
Nice friendly staff and very clean at the bar.
Toilets were a bit unclean despite it only being lunchtime.
Food choices were a bit minimal and boring.
Had a sandwich which was nice, chips were overcooked.
Wouldn't rush back, but it wasn't the worst choice I've made.
t. b.
The food was nice and staff were friendly but we where all surprised that no uniforms in any form had been worn by the staff.
Plus one of the young waitress had long hair , no tied up or off her face .
Not what you expect to see when people are serving and taking orders for food
Very unexpected in a Youngs pub / restuarant .
Also in any good food establishment .
Very nice atmosphere in respect of comfortable tables , chairs and decor very nice .
Teresa .
C. H.
Chilled drinks, cool atmosphere and great food. Totally relaxed and friendly efficient service. The food is fresh quick and delish. Prices good for London. And they allow well behaved small to medium dogs.
A. B.
Good food, great garden, fab selection of board games. Great Yuppy hang out in general. I've tried most of the places in Tooting, but this is the one that feels comfortable and 'just right'.
Had a couple of dodgy misunderstandings in the past when ordering food, but think this was only down to one waitress in particular.
A. K.
Booked a table for 14:15hrs on Sunday arrived in time and shown to table by very bubbly waitress. Table had a reserved plate on it with name of party on it. I was really impressed but it ended right there. We sat at table for 25 minutes without any attention. I went and picked up some menus because we had not been given any or approached in any way. Stopped bubbly waitress and asked her if she could take our order. No your waiter will be with you soon she said. Eventually waiter came and said are you ready to order. He was very polite and I resisted saying anything. He took our orders there was 5 of us in our party.
Drinks were delivered promptly. It then took 35 minutes for food to arrive. The food itself was good nicely presented and of good quality although overpriced. Wine also overpriced. I have no complaints about the food itself just the appalling service and unacceptable wait to be served. The young lady who I paid asked if everything was ok and I said food was great but service was appalling. Sorry about that she said but lots of people came in that had not booked making us really busy.
The fact that we had booked and they had not makes our wait worse in my opinion. I did not leave a tip as I believe the service was really bad. Surely the young lady who showed us to the table could have given us the menus?
D.
Great pub in the centre of Tooting. Busy garden on sunny days, especially with current social distancing measures. Standard london pricing and the usual Young's pub offering
P. H.
Very expensive but lovely pub. Great outdoor area.
S. B.
Beautiful decor. Very clean. Food - average. They could do much better with the desserts. Service can be quite poor at times especially over busy weekends.
J. O.
Super cozy place with amazing food and drink, would come again.
J. M.
The Castle has come on leaps and bounds. Originally a Young's Pub with saw dust floor, old fashioned bar and lots of dark spaces. Since the Castle has a face lift both internally and externally, this retro pub is a joy to have drink and dine within. Their open air garden area is very popular throught the year. We have needed this type of pub to grace our high Street.
J. H.
Food isn't all that but great vibe and massive outdoor space so it's a steady local.
T. D.
Excellent vibe great place for a casual drink, definitely book a cabin outside well worth it
M. H.
A pint of beer a packet of crisps and a bag (bowl) of nut £9.70 ouch apart from that this is a very nice place and well thought out. The bar can get busy at times. This is a good place for all age groups
J. M.
Great place to drink, lovely outdoor space a must. Food so,so
K. R.
Good for a pint, standard boozer.
R. G.
Once for a beer but feel the food is OK but not amazing. I had the fish and chips and was a little disappointed.
Service is great though so no complaints there and bar staff have good banter!
J. P.
Quality outside area. Loads of seats for large and small groups. The bake off tent looked really cool. Great event for friends will have to try next time I am back
s. J.
Love this pub. Great service and lovely little snug areas to book. Recommend.
R. T.
Decent enough pub, good beer selection and food looks to be passable. But, it seems you can't just walk in and grab a seat. Every table is reserved even the outside ones! Its 7pm on a Wednesday so unless I'm missing something how are you supposed to go for an impromptu drink!
M. N.
Great pub and fantastic staff
J. K.
A large Young’s pub very close to Tooting Broadway tube station , being a Young’s pub a good selection of real ale is always on tap. Didn’t eat on this occasion but what I could see and smell , it was good.
Next time !
m. F.
Large pub, served food and large beer garden with huts that can be reserved. Food on the expensive side but good quality. Bar snack are available for a cheaper option. Staff friendly. Toilets are unisex and often a queue.
G. C.
Expensive trendy pubs are not my thing. A bit empty and so no atmosphere. Style over substance. Food OK but nothing outstanding. I prefer JJMoon just across the crossroads.
B. L.
Always good food and friendly staff.
A. G.
Great venue. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Food and service is excellent. Great music being played (not too loud) and a lively atmosphere from the patrons really makes this place one not to miss!
D. L. S.
Love the castle, manager and staff, they do a lot right! just the food i find as in any young pubs these days is way over priced especially the burgers which cost more than the best gourmet burgers in town.
K. M.
Castle is a nice cosy pub with a really nice beer garden. I've given it 4 stars as I feel they need to improve their dinning options are there are hardly any dishes for vegetarians/vegans.
R. J.
Great pub. Great staff and food but they need to sort the men's toilets out. Always flooding or blocked . You report it and nothing seems to get done. But still a five star pub.
T. M.
Very good place for after work. Staff are helpful and friendly. Variety of drinks, comfortable seats and sharing menu was good too. Music! Highly recommended.
M. D.
The Castle is possibly the best price pub in Tooting. The interior is warming and nicely decorated and a good place to hunker down with a pint through the winter months.
But summer is when the Castle really comes alive: with its large outdoor area featuring wooden dens (available for booking) and plenty of seating to enjoy the sun. I was once in the garden when a shower came down and soaked everything, but as soon as the rain had stopped staff were running around the garden wiping down seats with paper towels for everyone which was a very nice touch.
J. C.
Another great Youngs pub. There are alot in Wandsworth borough to be fair but they all have their own uniqueness to them.
2 main talking points of the Castle are the size and the garden.
Its a large pub with alot of tables and floor space.
It attracts a trendy crowd which most Youngs pubs this day and age do and has all the usual Youngs pubs drinks on tap.
As well as a good place to get a great Sunday meal its also a really good Summer pub because of the large garden. Kitted our with huts and tables its usually busy in the summer but gets alot of sun, you wouldnt think Tooting high street was outside.
It is across the road from Tooting Broadway tube entrance and has several bus stops nearby.
Service is usually quite quick as they have alot of staff on in the evenings, but sometimes the cocktail making takes a while but thats a hindrance of most place really, still a 5* pub
s. a.
The food was dwlicious Service was amazing. I just wish they didnt ask if we finished the food every 5 minutes by different staff members. If I finish
J.
Beautiful pub with charming beer garden. Shame that it always takes so long to get served at the bar. Food is standard for a youngs pub. Nice eatery area which can accomodate large groups. Drinks are over priced.
C. F.
Excellent pub, have walked past it many times. Good range of beers with friendly staff. Roomy with distinct areas. Worth a visit.
J. T.
Great pub! Visited on Sunday for a roast and thoroughly enjoyed my time at this wonderful venue! Great staff, and lovely interior. Would recommend to friends and family
J. S.
A lovely pub with a nice garden area.
K. M.
Very nice pub with Flfantastic seating space outside. Can't comment on the food as haven't tried any yet.
A. B.
We had the bar snacks, shared seven between three of us, tapas style. Every one was excellent. Good service and a decent choice of beers. It's a good place to spend an evening.
R. B.
Super slow service, definitely need more staff.
Outdoor seating area is amazing
D. A.
I've been just once since they renovated the place and it's been great! Very cool bar. I won't give five stars just because the prices are quite high for its competitors but I had a nice experience overall.
J. L.
I'm not usually one for chain pubs, but the atmosphere at the Castle is always great and I love the garden. The food is pretty decent too. The place keeps me coming back.
L. O.
Good drinking establishment in the middle of Tooting, much nicer than others nearby
J. C.
Food very nice although the wine is s tad expensive, table water, chilled to perfection. 12 o'clock on a Friday and it was quiet in the restaurant, although fairly busy outside on a very warm and sunny day
P. K.
Great service, homely and stylish decor, very spacious and a fantastic garden with heated booths. Decent food and an extensive drinks list make this one of the best pubs in Tooting.
C. D.
The Castle is a huge pub, modernised to a high standard. I can't vouch for the food (I was here for drinks) but would happily come back. My only slightly gripe is getting served wasn't as easy as it could have been since there was some confusion over which bar to order at and waiting staff didn't seem interested in taking a drink order. Otherwise its hard to fault and a great place for meeting friends.
A.
Great atmosphere. Loads of space and drinks were great. Staff were really nice and friendly. Haven't tried the food yet but had a great time anyway.
E. M.
Great pub in an unsuspecting location. Just past Tooting Broadway underground station, this great Young's pub offered nice food in a nicely laid out area. Great outdoors seating too which we took advantage of on a sunny afternoon
J. O.
service could have been more efficient. Waited a long time to order drinks and eventually had to ask staff ourselves by going up to them and then had an almost equivalent wait for them to arrive
S. H.
Love the out door space with heated see through igloo structures to sit in and the usual huts also heated. The inside is charaterful, warm and buzzy. One of my favorite pubs in the area.
S.
Garden is nice though pretty noisy in the evening. Not a huge choice of snacks.
O. N.
Great pub, awesome staff, bit cold outside and the heat lamps barely last more than a minute but still a great place!
C. B.
Great pub, good food and a very nice selection of wines for the connaisseurs. The garden also worth the "detour". The food is served quiet fast so even on a lunch break for work it s interesting.
J. A.
Visited on a nostalgia trip as I used to use the pub as a young man in the early 80s. It has changed out of all recognition since then and now attracts a young and trendy crowd. Staff were friendly but it was very crowded and expensive, even by London standards.
J. W.
Lots of room for all 5 pram at lunch, brunch portions were on the small side. 1 vegan option for lunch, one vegan option for pudding- chocolate brownie such was pretty tasty😛
C. L.
Easily the best pub in Tooting if not South West London. Great range of lagers and ales at fair prices. Great atmosphere, always busy, with lively and attentive bar staff.
J. D.
Great large pub with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with covered areas and fairy lights, very pretty since they refurbished the outdoor area. Food is very nice too
A. S. T.
It's a nice and lively pub. Expect a lot of people to be around in the bar area on weekend and loud music. Beer selection is okay. Food is very nice, but more expensive than the tooting average.
L.
My sister in law who lives in Tooting booked a birthday get together here - myself & my siblings who grew up in Tooting could not believe such a place existed on the HIGH STREET! We had a great experience, lots of natural light as they have sunlights throughout, so gave a sense of sitting outside - outside also offered a lot of place to sit and enjoy - very cool venue - it was almost as if we were in central London, except we could walk there!
T. N.
Very friendly professional staff. Great menu and quiz night with the very witty and welcoming manager Chris. Great outdoor seating with individual booths, I would highly recommend it.
L. I.
Really like the revamped Castle in Tooting. The interior is comfy and spacious and the garden is literally incredible. Haven't tried to food yet but serves a good range of beer and wine.
A. S.
Best pub in Tooting by a mile, great food and friendly service.
S. D.
Lovely food and friendly staff. Had a lovely time thank you.
D. F.
Huge place with lots of outdoor space and friendly staff but the lunch menu was expensive and the breakfast not the best I've had. Beer was good though!
c. m.
Great atmosphere and staff is marvelous!
C. S. R.
The garden is great for these cold and rainy days. They have heaters, huts and eanty of tables.
E. A.
Great pub. It's got a super cool beer garden with cabins that have fire places - so nice to be outside in the winter. Average food
A. J.
Amazing looking place, huge indoors and huge garden. Great selection of drinks as well.
Special mention to the staff on my visit, very polite and professional while also being welcoming and friendly.
R. W.
The best pub in Tooting, not even the newly refurbished Trafalgar can quite knock The Castle from its perch. Young's spent a lot of money on this place and it shows. Great selection of beers and nice to see some London brewed favourites on show. It's pricier than most but you can always mix in a couple of jars at JJ Moons to lower your average cost per pint. Their garden is excellent and packed in summer. Visit this place and you'll see the 'new' Tooting on display, the face of change, whether that's a good or a bad thing is up for debate. But there's no better place to have that debate than at The Castle. Yakima Red is going down a treat at the moment.
F. G.
Great casual pub with potential. Great for group bookings and a good selection of beer. Be wary of alcohol prices on spirits. Food is good too
S. G.
Castle Pub is an excellent among pub class facilities social drink gathering. It combines restaurant and pub and cocktail bar and refined sophisticated vintage furniture seating with very modern lights and decor elements stating it is place very modern with vintage elements.
Atmosphere among regular crowd swarming it's relaxed, yet vibrant, exciting, rather young clientele filling all place with healthy spaced dynamic social life extending into garden lined on both sides with wooden huts, about 5 on each side, every having capacity for around 8 persons private space with designer attention refined detail varied from hut to hut.
There also are open tables lined across middle of garden. The garden to a first time goer can seem a busy social centre for camping site somewhere in mountains, in deep woods or by the rocky terrain of hills and valleys.
Inside space by the bar can amount to enough for a small disco and I can add: if the restaurant part at back from well sheltered, stylish, double door, security attendant 2 entrances would be cleared of tables the Castle Pub could serve a wedding for 30-50 people easy or could be turned into night club.
The sparkly bright night club atmosphere is present due to lights, modern decor and hip, cool, sporty, busy, smiling, relaxed dress code bar staff giving off impression of celebrating and partying nonstop. Info for wheelchair users: men and ladies rooms are past stairs on 1st floor and not suitable for your convenience. It is the only 1st. floor facility.
Overall entire space of the Castle Pub gleams with modern social networking environment having many interesting features and eye catching solutions. It is 21st. century international and global social scene for it seems any experienced and educated at highest edge individual and networking exercise or meeting practice.
Music genre inside the pub when I was visiting since refurbishment about 1 year or 2 years ago does seem good catalyst for lively young people to enjoy anything they may be up to on their evening/night out.
Above all tunes played on resident sound system are high in sound quality, bouncy, most ok/good to dance to and inspiring enchantment in each other's presence for all groups present and all individuals across all spaces.
It is wonderful space to come to dine at a date, bring whole family for a meal, pop in for a quick pint, maybe cup of tea, coffee also to set a social event for any social network(big size) or private friends meeting and stay in the Castle Pub since down till dusk, from opening till closing time gathering having potential from just having fun to function to a very professional meeting hopefully not requiring still silence.
I personally love the atmosphere there, the high edge modern style and happy, positive psychology design embracing each customer from entry, all the time throughout, surrounding one everywhere in constantly ever present reminder that to be happy is to be yourself.
It is most of all I can write to offer exact guidance on what the Castle Pub premises are.
Thank you.
E. S.
I organised a birthday and Christmas party for a client - London Bake Off with drinks at The Castle Tooting. Archie looked after my bookings both times. He was not only an absolute delight on the phone... he couldn't have been more helpful! I felt valued and looked after because of him... Can't recommend enough! The client raved about the Castle and the Bake Off and that's why we booked it again for their Christmas party!
S. B.
This large pub / restaurant gets extremely busy in the evenings and weekends, but at quieter times it is more relaxed. Food is generally good, staff friendly and good ranges of beers.
T. C.
Recently completely refurbished internally, now it offers an extensive menu, with a wide choice of wine, inanition to beers, lagers and spirits.
A very helpful staff, at least some of whom live on the premises!
Very busy from 14:00 onwards
S. P.
Superb pub quiz. Has a tasting round with food, wine and cocktail. Definitely check it out. Wednesday and a quid to enter. The Sunday roast is also pretty decent.
M. W.
Staff are kind but service in general very chaotic. I ordered fish and chips - everything very oily and mushed peas were watery. Tartare sauce was very nice tough.
O. J.
An incredible pub, the drinks selection is brilliant and the food incredible. I know of multiple people who travel 6+ miles for the quiz, which ia easily the most fun, bizarre pub quiz in London.
M. A.
Nice food and drinks with great events but tad on the expensive side
D. R.
Spruced up former London boozer, now light, bright, noisy and a crossroads of many Tooting types. Great food and lots of different spaces to suit the vibe you're after
G. H.
Good local boozer with decent beer selection and food.
L. W.
I visited the castle with friends for the quiz night on Tuesday. Could not recommend this enough! The food was great and I think that was the best pub quiz I’ve been to even though we didn’t win!
M. W.
Nice pub but extremely expensive for what and where it is
T. P.
Good pub, big garden but really slow service. They need at least 2 more people on the bar.
Was there for half an hour waiting for a drink but in the end we went to another pub
M. R.
First time been in this bar, great place indeed.
S. L.
Had a delicious lunch here with a friend! The burger was very beautifully made and came in an appropriate time frame. Staff was very friendly
j. g.
Actually a really nice place for beers wine and food. Think it was renovated a few years back and has a great garden. Also have food trucks in the summer and some sort of bake off if that's your thing
G. C.
Huge pub with great garden. Perfect place to hang out with friends and for a sunny day.
Food was good. I will recommend it.
L. D.
Cool pub...service behind the bar is always a bit slow but it's usually quite busy so can't complain. Outside area is great in the summer if you can get a seat
W. S.
Waaayyy expensive compared to the area that is located...
L. G.
It's not often that I praise pub food. The meals were excellent and so was the service. Bravo!
R. H.
Prices too high as are the Toilets and very badly maintained
M. S.
Local work pub not far from my office. Huge improvement since the renovation. A really excellent place for a catch up with friends and some nice food and good choice of beer.
J. H.
Large pub with a good vibe. Plenty of place for eating and good food on the menu. There's also a great pub garden that's open until 10pm every night.
D. R.
Lovely food, drink and atmosphere. Always buzzing and pretty quick service. Lovely outside area with cabins you can hire out. Lovely idea for a party
C. H.
nice enough bar just a pity it's a Youngs pub. means the grub and drinks selection suffers. Atmosphere usually decent though
S. B.
Loved this place , the garden terrasse outside , atmosphere is lovely
You spend easily your afternoon
Following my recent visit to Castle in Tooting , I have been very disappointed .
With my friend and I , we decided to come back to your pub after a super experience in summer time , but this time to try your lunch as I have had heard so many good things about it .
17th of November 2016 , we sat down where we were told to sit and ordered , with difficulties and questions; the Pie of the day .
I was tempted by the venison but you didn't have any left , but strangely in the pie you had !
The pie of the day arrived quickly and when we looked at it ... it wasn't a pie for us
It's a strew and a puff pastry on the top
The idea we were both thinking is like an English pie .
We called the manager at the time , and we returned it
What s wrong ? He asked
We told him that is not a pie , but he was insisting it's a pie !!!
Plus , the mash potatoes was to peppery and couldn't be eaten
We didn't eat , return the food to the cuisine and left mega disappointed
if you call it English pie , as the manager was telling us it is , check on internet to see what a real English pie is and compare it to yours.
b. d.
Great place
Great vibe
Prices kinda Central London but the space and atmosphere saves it
Plenty outdoor seating, with fires and heaters for the colder days (most days)
Friendly and plentiful staff top it all off. You won't wait long for a drink
5/5
M. W.
Really nice pub, food is good and staff are great. Lots of different areas so can be away form the bigger crowds. And only a 30 second walk from the tube station.
M. S.
Big pub right next to Tooting Broadway station. Food is good and so are the drinks. Gets very busy evenings and at the weekend. Sometimes runs a pub quiz. Good for a drink after work too.
J. L.
Nice place. Clean, tidy. Also there is a good area outside for in the summer months. Although it is a big, we found it difficult to seat more than 6 people there at 4.30 on a Friday.
M. O.
Great pub, great food and service. A gem in south west London. Lovely and interesting outdoor space with private sheds too
M. B.
Had a roast. Basically a huge chunk of meat, a huge chunk of carrot and another huge chunk of sweet potato. Not presented well... Stop trying to be fashionable with food. Just serve a normal, traditional roast.
R. T.
Buzzing atmosphere on a weekend with a large sunny outdoor area which is great for meeting up with friends. Good food and varied selection of drinks including an outdoor cocktail bar and table service.
C. B.
Great service, don't have to wait too long. Great for summer with outside garden space which is really pretty. Best pub in tooting.
S. D.
A very friendly atmosphere.
r. y.
!!!!!!!!!!!
AMAZING! so so beautiful! everyone is friendly, the food is delicious and not too spenny! the garden is an amazing space and manages to be both open and bustling but cozy and intimate
K. M.
spacious pub with a good selection of drinks -has loud-ish music on a Friday night so maybe not the place for a quiet drink but good atmosphere if you want a pub that's not quite a bar
P. D.
I love the castle :) it has good ales, beers are ok, the menu is not bad but specially the outside area is super nice - also the decoration is pretty awesome.
K. H.
Wow, what a transformation since I was last here. Young's have done a great job of updating and expanding The Castle. Had such a good time that we came back the next day with friends 😁
D. S.
Most gentrified pub in Tooting, though has kept a good selection of beers. Good quiz, nice beer garden. Food overrated.
N. C.
Spacious and fun bar. Outdoor area and great food. Brilliant place to go for a few dri ks regardless of the weather. Indoors and outdoors area are ace.
C. T.
I like it here a bit pricie but good surroundings, good food , good selection of wines, cocktails, music but not many choices of largers if you don't like ales or drink bottles, otherwise 10 out of 10
M. M.
Great place to head for after work drinks. Nice light atmosphere, good beers (Camden pale, yamika red etc). Beer garden etc and does great food!
H. M.
Fancy pub with central London prices, always a wait at the bar on a Friday/Saturday night but an amazingly huge garden with lots of seats. Lots of toilets as well, though they are upstairs.
T. M.
Crest pub, good range of drinks and a great garden. Also the best pub quiz in London on a Wednesday night.
P. G.
I imagine people younger than me and joy displace more than I did but they do have a great range of beers and it is a very good looking pub.
L. D.
Really good food and amazing space. The garden looks beautiful too. I will definitely go back in the summer. Kid friendly too. Highly recommend it
A. W.
Always quite busy, but the staff do a good job keeping glasses full. The place might come off as being a bit too new, and shiny. The food is quite good.
G. P.
Beautifully decorated pub, helpful staff, very delicious food. Would definitely recommend!
K. O.
Huge space, nice decor, really lively on Friday and Saturday night - so seating gets taken up fast! Fairly good pricing on drinks too.
M. A.
It's a great venue. The outside is great. Inexperienced staff and erratic booze let it down. YOUNGS have the right ideas, but clearly sack the originators before the details are sorted out and finessed.
G. T.
Fabulous pub great beer lovely service. 😁👍👍
C. S.
Staff are great... Really friendly and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and looked after. Food ok, drinks good, but staff are the real winner!
G. L.
Nice place, drinks are expensive though. Pub quiz is good but soooo long. When I went most people had left before it finished as it was running so late.
R. J.
Nice pub (if you can get a seat). There is a area outside for in the summer months, but although it's a big garden it can be difficult to find a seat, when the sun comes out!
M. B.
Lovely pub. Nice selection of drinks. Table service in the bar for drinks is a nice touch.
J. G.
Great pub, probably one of the best in this area of London, food is always of a high standard and a great selection of beers and gin.

Good food. Very homely feel and a brilliant quiz on a Wednesday. Lively and a good atmosphere makes it an enjoyable venue.

Huge pub located just next to Tooting Broadway tube station with large outdoor seating area. Always busy on the weekend with a good selection of beers and food.

Great pub with plenty of choice and friendly vibe. Nice food, choice of beers and ales on tap. Big beer garden.

really nice gastro.
their food is always tasty and beer selection decent.

Have you ever seen such a big beer garden? The Castle has become the summer destination for Tooting residents since its revamp in mid-2014. Huge, inside and out, it is a little bit 'Clapham' and lacks some of the character of the surrounding pubs, but if a big beer garden is what you're looking for, you won't find any larger in Tooting.

Very nice atmosphere and lovely staff

Huge pub with great indoor and outdoor space. Nice staff. Good range of drinks and food is good too.

Expensive but not a bad place. Wouldn't go too often
R. S.
The only main reason it did not5 star is £4.00 for a small plate of chips , £8.00 for a burger. Come on thats is just out of order. Otherwise the place is excellent

Great Service and the food was great 👍🏽Back Garden great place to meet 😀👍🏽

Really like this pub, the bar is a bit small so it can take a while to get served.
Food it really good but not cheap.

Vibey and friendly, good food with great variety. Have quiz nights which are very popular and loads of fun - prebook as it gets packed on those nights.

The staff are very good and polite .
We loved
the outside garden and the foods fantastic .
Well worth a visit , and definitely will be coming back .
B. N.
Lovely huge outdoor area to sit and enjoy. The bar is to small and there aren't enough staff for the number of clients and places to sit
j. b.
One of Tootings better pubs. Would get 5 stars if the beers weren't nearly £6 a pint
R. T.
Love this place is cozy, relaxing, huge, the open area is beautiful.. and the people who serve you are great, I give them 5 stars !!! 👏🏻
T. S.
Nice enough pub. There is a big focus on food, which limits the seating if you just want a drink.

Wonderful site with fireplaces outside, really nice quality and affordable prices. We will return! 🙂 The spanish chef is the best.and the portuguese Walter as well

Best pub in Tooting Broadway….. their garden is awesome

Ok food and ok service. Not jaw dropping, but the decor is nice and they had plenty of options for food. Perhaps a little on the expensive side for what they serve. But I would still go back.

Great service, lovely interior and beer garden, we went there for sunday brunch and was more than impressed
C. B.
Nice large pub, well set out with several distinct areas inside and really good outdoor area. Beer selection a bit uninspiring.

Proper solid boozer. Very big gaff, prompt bar service, nice atmosphere. The food is very disappointing though, make it cheaper or make it better.
R. B.
Okay pub if it’s your kind of pub. Every single time I’ve been in the queues are a joke, they need to manage their staff rota far better and get a few more quality bar staff
P. M.
Nice pud/bar, very nice inside and outside bar area. The food is ok a bit over priced for the quality.

I'm new to the area and was very pleased to find The Castle. It had a really good atmosphere, the staff were friendly and the food and drink was good value for money!
M. G.
Great vibe, the garden is amazing

Nice pub. It's obvious that a lot of money has been spent on the decor. Drinks slightly pricey. Nice garden
J. B.
Gastropub - good beer selection. Not sure the food is as special as they say on the Posh menu. Good staff and Service.
M. G.
Did not have steak on Monday evening.

Visiting with a wheelchair-bound patient from a nearby hospital every member of staff we dealt with couldn't have been more helpful. And then, of course, the food was great too!
B. W.
Alright modern pub if you're into that sort of thing, prices are a little over the top and if you're going in the evening they tend to blast the music very loud to a point where you cant hear yourself think - But the inside of the place has been done up pretty well!
D. G.
Great menu, good atmosphere. Tooting has a few good spots for a pint and this is one of them.
O. F.
