Reviews of The Churchill Arms, Kensington
林.
To order food you have to walk inside, u will find the Churchill Thai Restaurant.
I ordered Pad Thai and Beef Rice , both were very tasty.
The place as it is old bar has very good vibe , cosy , relaxing environment , highly recommended to have a bite and cuple of beers after long day work.

We had reservations in the Thai restaurant located in the back of the restaurant. The food was good, but not outstanding, really went for the experience of visiting this pub during the Christmas season. The decor and vibes were definitely lovely, but the pub was insanely packed (could barely get in and out!) - definitely no social distancing there! If you’re looking to eat there, you need reservations and please note you’ll be in the back so separated slightly from the madness of the front of the pub. Worth a visit during the year (when it’s less busy), but during Christmas, probs best to just stick to viewing the pub from the outside!

Nice bar with good vibe. Inside the bar was the Thai food restaurant, decent price with delicious Thai food with Big portions! We order pad thai with prawns, we quite like it. Curry was nice as well. Check how spicy was the food before you order!

This pub had the same landlord for about 30 years, he built it up and left a fine establishment when he retired. Hard act to follow. But they have and done it in style. Nothing of the old charm has been lost. The staff are fantastic. The Thai food smells great though I didn't sample it. I am so pleased they have kept this place vibrant, real and welcoming. Well done.
M. W.
The outside might seem like it’s a little unwelcoming to Irish but fear not as that’s far from the case 😂
Barman’s from the Emerald Isle and there’s a corner of the pub filled with tri-color bunting and Irish nick nacks. Pints were solid, pub itself is smashing
Φ. Τ.
We've been dying to visit that place, it's really such a beautiful pub with warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Although toilets absolutely stung. The food wasn't the greatest, We've ordered a pad thai and a portion of spring rolls. Spring rolls and their sauce was so tasty, although pad Thai had a weird smell and taste. Beers wasn't that good too (although that's about our taste)
M. D.
Fantastic pub dedicated to Churchill.... with a wonderful Irish twist! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and a good selection of drinks. There is a good Thai restaurant out the back too. 10/10!
R.
Good bar with nice environment and decoration. They play great music and the bartenders are close and kind. Beer is good but quiet expensive. And they gave an excellent location.
C. O.
Traditional English pub, very well located, peculiar decor, friendly staff and good beer. I liked it and I recommend it.
P. L.
Nice pub. Warm friendly. Very interesting interior and attractive exterior
N. K.
Cosy pub a short walk from Notting Hill Gate. Great beers, atmosphere and Thai food! Definitely one to visit if you’re in London.
K. H.
Nice place with quite a quirky bar to chill for a drink. The thai food is delicious and there is a little restaurant type area separate to the pub if you want to have your food there.
L. D. O.
Love the atmosphere and the pub feel, the Xmas decorations were AMAZING, nothing can beat it.
The Thai restaurant is very disappointing at the moment, the food quality is a lot lower than it used to be, the hygiene levels of the place is definitely overlooked, i suggest a bit more TLC in your restaurant.
After 20 years of frequently going there for meals, bringing friends and family from all corners of the globe i will not go back again, unless they make some improvements.
J. J.
I had my first (legal) pint in here about 13 years ago. And whenever in London i never fail to not return. Amazing character, a proper London boozer....well it is Kensington so an upmarket boozer.
Food wise some of the best Thai food about and for under ten pound a curry in Kensington you can not go wrong .
A. C. F.
Awesome place at Nothing Hill.
UK ambient with Thai food. I cant see the relation but it is great. Pad thais per 10£ and Pints for 6£.
Absolutely recomended
B. L.
A great time was had by all at this charming and historic pub. We originally had planned to start the night here and visit several pubs but we ended up eating the delicious Thai food and ended the night here as well!
A. A.
Great pub with an old fashioned yet up-to-date vibe. Cosy and friendly. they serve outstanding This food highly recommend.
C. P.
Great pub for instagram!! Very festive at this time of year . Very traditional pub inside which serves Thai food - which to me doesn’t really match the traditional vibe .
E. P.
Nice little boozer, wonderful decor at Christmas, a floral delight during warmer months
T. P.
First time back here in 20 years with my family....and it's as good now as it was then. Still the best pint of Guinness in London and the most incredible, tasty and generous Thai food !
A. D.
The best Pad Thai in town! Delicious!
Service could be friendlier
R. B.
Nice pub decor and vibe, great pimms. Quite an instagramable place 😄 didn't have the food but the Thai food smell from the restaurant area was enticing and will def try next time.
V. “. D.
Just...don't miss to visit this place! It's amazing, special pun, friendly stuff, Christmas lights, amazing!!!
R. K.
The pub looks gorgeous outside and inside. Thai food was absolutely delicious and servedvery quick, staff friendly and helpful, felt very welcome there. Highly recommended 👌
Z. S.
My favourite pub, nicely decorated through out the years especially in the festive seasons.
A. A.
Beautiful decorated pub, great atmosphere. Delicious Thai food as well.
A. P. C.
This pub is amazing. The decoration is one of the best I've ever seen. The ambiance is laid back and relaxed. The variety of drinks is good.
N. C.
What a unique great place. Amazing decor inside and out. Lots of ales and beers. Didn't eat.
J. M.
Pub in the front with a fantastic Thai restaurant in the back room. Fun atmosphere in the pub that has a UK Churchill theme that segues into a jungle and butterfly themed Thai restaurant. Superb food, the Pad Thai was fantastic!!
D. D.
Still one of the best pubs in London for Thai food. Simple menu been the same for years but great authentic Thai food. We had a problem wiyh one of yhe dishes but quickly rectified by the excellent staff.
D. T.
Fantastic Thai food and cosy fun pub
Partner has told me about how good the Thai restaurant is for years and it did not disappoint.
Some of the best Thai Red & green curries I've ever had, along with a spot on Pad thai. All the food was served very promptly aswell.
Highly recommend.
R. d. B.
This is such a great pub. The interior design is quite unique, plus there is a good selection of beers on offer and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I'll be back next time I'm in London!
J. D.
Decent pint of Guinness and friendly bar staff. Disappointed with the vegetarian/vegan options on the menu however. This must be the first Thai restaurant I've ever visited that doesn't doesn't even have tofu on the menu.
S. S.
Loved it. Must visit places in Kensington. Surprisingly good Thai food
P. S.
Thai food in Irish Pub Style. Warm interior and cute exterior design, with a lot of fresh hanging flower. Great taste of Thai spicy food. There is a must drink Thai tea taste like in Thailand. A lot of local guys drink and talk in front of the restaurant. A lot of Thai staff here, so you could expect Thai standard service.
G. S.
Best food in London. The decor and plants inside and outside are worth the trip alone! We had the best duck curry and spring rolls of our entire lives. Insane, the food is so good! Great service and friendly staff too. You can only eat in the back, the pub is for drinks only, pro tip!
A. G.
Classic British pub, always decorated outside and in. Quite spacious towards the back. Good range of wi es and beers.
A. J.
The food is fantastic, the best homemade faggots ever, pork loin as tender as a steak. The cottage pie and steak pie are what my grandmother use to make. Do not change what you are doing. If you want fantastic food, great prices and great surrounding, make a trip.
G. G.
Classic over the top British pub. Friendly and polite bar staff. Great Thai food as well. Defineately worth a visit especially for a tourist like me :)
G. G.
A very beautiful and quirky pub. Always busy. The Thai restaurant inside provides very delicious food. The staff and the service was excellent.! Thank you very much
B. B.
Honestly the Thai food is extremely satisfying here. They just have the street food basics available on the menu, but the portions are big, well priced and the food is really flavoursome. Go outside peak dining hours if you want to avoid waiting, as it gets extremely busy and is a popular place
C.
More than the typical british pub, it’s fully decorated and it brings u to the past. Be sure you book in advance for dinner, tasty cheap Thai food. We had a good time there, the outside decoration is awesome, full of life/Xstmas spirit. One of my favourites pubs
M. S.
The pub and restaurant absolutely stunning so beautiful however the food was just ok.
We had the spring rolls, prawn rolls and crackers with Sweet chilli sauce that was lovely.
Main I ordered the chicken pad Thai, which I thought the chicken was slightly over cooked, and not enough peanuts for my preface.
A. E.
This place has a beautiful outside and amazing Thai food! Great atmosphere all around. Would highly recommend to tourists coming into the city to find great food and great service. It is absolutely a must for anyone visiting the city! Also great for photos outside as well.
U. M.
Great British boozer, authentic feel once inside, well spaced out. Online ordering was responded to quickly and effectively by friendly staff. The beer was well looked after and we will visit again in the future. Perfect place for a pint in pleasant traditional surroundings. Didnt try the food but the Thai menu looked very promising
T. S. R.
I can’t think of anything wrong with this place, it’s my very favourite place to eat out and to hangout. Pubs don’t come more traditional than this. There is so much stuff on the walls and hanging from the ceiling, that every time you go there it feels like the first time... so much stuff to look at! Seat at a different table every time and it will look like a whole different place, every time!
The Thai restaurant is simply fabulous; the food is tasty, plenty and reasonably priced. They are extremely busy, so they will give you an hour to have your dinner, after which you’ll be asked to leave, which is understandable and they will let you know before you seat down. You can always get up and move out of the restaurant bit and into the pub, where you can stay as long as you want.
P. K.
This place is always busy. It is lovely, old English pub, with beautiful flowers outside and really cool interior. Part of the pub, again with plenty of plants, contains restaurant with tasty, authentic Thai food. If you fancy Pad Thai, a few different kinds of cury or stir fried, everything with decent price and nice service.
J. R.
Internationally famous for its Christmassy decorations. This pub is ideal for having a pint and enjoy the overcrowded decoration.
You will also discovered it is renown for its Thai restaurant.
Food is delicious, fairly priced and served in generous portions.
Consider booking as it is the busiest place I ever seen .... on a Tuesday....
A. O.
When I first went in a was thinking an American had designed this place, every wall and ceiling is covered in tat. But after a drink or two I really liked it.
Loads of tourists in this pub as it is a 'quint essential' British pub so if you're looking for a quiet drink maybe this isn't the place to go.
The thai restaurant attracted is great value and the food is pretty good, I ordered the pad thai and me and my mate shared it it was so big.
The nest thing is at Christmas and summer where the decorate the pub.
The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is buzzing.
S. W.
Brilliant pub fantastuc atmosphere happy friendly staff . The whole place is steeped in history but still has the great pub vube. Well worth a visit.
G. M.
Had a great time with friends and a fabulous dinner. If you like Thai food, you must try this place. Great and friendly staff the place is unique, plants and flowers everywhere. Definitely my new pitstop ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
N. B.
The exterior of this restaurant is quite unique. Walking distance from Kensington Palace (~15mins). The interior is unique too, Churchill-themed. We went in, without any prior research on the food etc., and came to our surprise that it’s actually a Thai cuisine restaurant. Wasn’t expecting much, since it looks like a “touristy” kinda place. But the food tastes great actually, and not expensive at all.
C. i. H.
Nice cosy pub and we had a lovely thai meal from the restaurant there. I'd highly recommend.
P. V.
A fantastic British pub with a great staff. Beautiful from the outside with interesting decorations inside. They are also connected to a Thai restaurant! A really nice selection of beer and spirits. I spent several hours here drinking with my cousin bellt up at the bar. Get there early, it fills up with locals who also love this special place.
S. W.
They let me pop in to the ladies' powder room earlier in the day so I was determined to go back and buy a meal in the evening. My husband and I each had the prawn curry which was totally delicious and authentic. The Thai beer was cold and refreshing after a long day of walking. We didn't have to wait long for it at all. The place has charm and is an unspoilt oasis in the centre of London. We'll go back when we can.
C. M.
Food good but very disappointed to find their famous Christmas lights were removed this morning when advertised to be up until 6th January- we tried to book all over the festive period to no avail - now we know why - attitude of staff very dismissive despite us having travelled in from Surrey.
L. B.
I have been coming to this place .... over many years the place is small but very cosi... the decoration is unique. I love the Pub always busy.
The food is excellent, only the service has not change. They are not very pleasant they are rude.
The toilets were clean and beautiful decorated.
Portions of the dishes are good. Prices are reasonable.
S.
A lovely old fashioned pub. Staff were lovely. Thai restaurant at the back of the pub. Excellent food and service. Staff made us feel welcome. Very busy place. You need to book for the restaurant. I will definitely go back.
M. C.
Food is great, good sized portions. The drinks are expensive (almost £7 for a pint), but unfortunately compatible with the area. However, the service were very poor, rude staff, not friendly at all.
J. H.
The outside interior of the building is so catchy and outstanding. The interior is nice as well. My only regret was that Menu is A bit monotonious though it raster well.
N. G.
A great London pub with an eclectic interior. A good range of beers served by very helpful and attentive staff. Great Thai restaurant in the pub as well.
K. G.
The food here was quite decent and reasonably priced. The place looks absolutely beautiful from inside and out- it’s like dining in the crowded forest 😅 the only reason why this place doesn’t get a 5 star is because the service is really really bad! The waitresses are very rude and can’t communicate nicely with the customers at all! The service here is very bad and that’s probably the reason why I wouldn’t want to go there again. The service makes a huge part about a restaurant experience and this place doesn’t cut it.
S. A.
Quirky pub with the strangest things hanging from the roof. Even found a UK food rationing card from the war days.
But to me the highlight is the Thai restaurant at the back. Is very authentic, has quality fresh ingredients and the best Pad Siew in town!
B.
Inside and outside well decorated, good customer service. I will recommend it
C. D.
By far, the best looking Pub you can find. Flowers covering the exterior are gorgeous. Inside the decoration is really interesting with a lot of historical pictures. Beers were really fresh and precisely served.
R. L. P.
Great experience.
Feels like to go back hundred years.
Good beers and amazing location
S. W.
Really touristy as very popular but great pub, they have a really nice Thai restaurant inside and you can eat in the pub,it was really delicious. We sat next to some great people from the USA and had a great chat.
Plants and flowers everywhere and staff are really friendly. Very traditional English Pub!
B. T.
The pub looks nice and has a fun vibe. The food is OK. Good selection of drinks. Nice service! Would give 3 1/2 stars if it was an option.
N. C.
Favourite pub in London. Quirky bar, old Churchill pictures, hanging baskets & a superb Thai restaurant at the back. Ive been over 1000 times in my 17+ years in London. The food is absolutely awesome. Whatever review you read note this.... The bar & restaurant are packed, 7 nights a week 51 weeks per year. Getting into the restaurant after 7 without a booking? No chance. So if you read a bad review it doesn’t matter. The place is the busiest pub in London because of the food. There’s practically a garden in the dining room.
A. M.
Proper traditional pub serving a good selection of real ales. Friendly welcoming staff. Outside stunning hanging baskets are most inviting. Will definitely revisit again soon.
P. I.
Very quirky pub with great, if simple Thai food. Bit of a gruff greeting saying we could only have an hour sitting. Food came quickly so not an issue but perhaps just work on the welcome and it'd be perfect.
A. D.
What a place!
It is an incredibly stunning pub both outside and inside, with lots of flowers too.
One of the most beautifull pub I’ve visited in UK.
Don’t miss the entire ceiling of chamber-pots and airplanes.
Great atmosphere, great staff and great beer’s selection!
S. A.
Portions are big and really tasty. I just wish they had more veggies (they only have cabbage and carrot and onion as a veggie option)
J. P.
Delicious food and prices correct. But the staff is not nice, and are doing absolutely no efforts to meet the clients’ expectations.
D. Z.
The Churchill Arms (a Fuller pub, meaning they have Fuller's broad selection of beer on tap), has more character than most London pubs. For one, it has an amazing collection of curios and Churchill-related memorabilia on the the walls and festooned from the ceiling. As in, a mind-boggling amount! For another, it eschews the standard English pub menu of fish & chips, bangers and mash, burgers and the like, for one that is entirely Thai. Sadly I didn't get a chance to sample anything other than the beer, but the Thai food being consumed on all sides of me smelled fantastic and got a big thumbs up from those I spoke to. A five minute walk from the the Central line's Notting Hill station, near Kensington Palace and Hyde Park. Expect a wait.
V.
Great little Boozer - great atmosphere and the best London Pride you will ever taste . . I've heard the food is good too . . .
I. T.
It is just amazing - I like very much the style. It is always crowded - obviously a lot of tourists - they also serve food - fresh, not very expensive and good. Worth going both during the summer and winter time.
S. B.
A must visit pub in London. Drink outside on the street under the forest of greenery or inside under the endless memorabilia of a bygone time. Winter or summer, doesn't matter, just go there.
J. Z.
You can’t tell it’s part Thai restaurant, part English pub simply by looking at the facade, which, by the way, is absolutely beautiful. The entire building is covered in vegetation and adorned by gorgeous flowers. The pub is directly in front of the entrance so you can’t miss it. Walk a little farther back and you’ll enter a different world filled with low-hanging plants (careful pumping into anything with your head). There you’ll find a cute little restaurant space that offers one-hour seating and delicious Thai food at very reasonable prices. Highly recommend for those seeking a unique yet cozy dining/drinking experience.
D. L.
The best pub in London! Coming there every year during the Christmas day to visit this impresive place. Very friendly and profesional customer service. See you soon!🎊🍾👌👏😉
l. o.
Amazing decor, inside and out, we went in festive season, so outside completely covered with Christmas trees, good quality beers (Fullers) and really nice staff, very popular so be prepared you may have to stand
D. S.
Serves local beer in a quirky pub. They have Thai inside which was pretty good!
R. D. O.
Great vietnamese food. It was totally unexpected but a good friend of mine recommended me this place and it totally worth it. Not expensive, very spicy, enough options and an extraordinary atmosphere. Will be back
L. S.
Very famous corner pub. Follow @discover_southkensington to see more pictures🤍
J. K.
One of my favorite pubs to visit. I always enjoy going back. It's even cooler around Christmas when they go a bit overboard with the decorations. The Thai food is excellent and authentic. I would recommend having some along with some Fullers pints :)
A. E.
This is a fantastic pub, both inside and out. The Thai food is very reasonably priced and there is a separate ‘restaurant, area at the rear of the pub. Great everything, drinks, food, decor, staff. Really well done and a very eclectic mix. The UK needs more pubs like this.
J. L.
Hidden in this awesome looking pub is a Thai kitchen that serves delicious food. Service is extremely efficient and friendly. The crowd shows this is a great place to dine.
C. S.
Beautiful pub with lots of intruiging decorations. Hard to get a seat but wonderful if you can
S. M.
A pub with amazing exterior and interior decors along with a touch of history. This British pub takes an effort to symbolize united Great Britain through the flags on the building. The drinks are normally priced and the pub offers a free pint to its first time visitors which is pretty unique and welcoming too. This is a place which is highly reccomendable.
M. L.
Very cool pub near Kensington Palace. Decided to stop in for a pint and get me some wifi to do some work. Decent beer selection, nice staff, and a fire going in the fire place. They even allow dogs into the pub!
S. M.
Most beautiful restaurant surrounded with flowers outside all the way round the building. Inside you are surrounded with greenery. The specialty is Thai food, it's was outstanding.
A. F.
What a fun, quirky place, so glad we found it - the Christmas lights are unreal 😀
Only had a drink so not sure what the food is like
j. o. l.
Beautiful outside and traditional inside, no seats as they were reserved but that was to be expected considering the reputation. Got seats after 20 mins though
A. F.
It’s been the best Thai pub food for decades and the interior is full of character - it’s just Super busy so if u get a seat u r lucky
c. c.
It is the perfect place to head, to get you into the Christmas spirit. It is covered in christmas trees and christmas lights. It does a very nice mulled cider too. :-)
D. M.
Famous for a reason. This pub came highly recommended from a friend so it was my first stop after a post-flight recovery nap. I found the bar staff to be really friendly but the service on the restaurant side less so - hence 4 stars. I shouldn’t have to ask for a glass of water 3 times. Other than that, it’s hard to beat the atmosphere. I only wish that pubs at home had a fraction of the character.
M. O.
Beautiful pub with a nice atmosphere. Famous for Thai food. I tried Roast Duck Curry and Pad Thai, which were normal.
C. B.
It's an amazing place and they serve Thai food.
M. J.
Unique venue! Outside usually covered in flowers but overtaken by Christmas trees at this time of the year. Inside always the same with not quite random objects hanging from the ceiling. Usual beer options available and cheap Thai food served if you can find a table. Generally very busy and a bit tourist overloaded although some locals around. Great area to be in too so if you've had enough of this place, North is Notting hill and South is high Street Kensington
T. L.
Good old fashioned pub. But disappointed no English grub. Just chinese dining
D. S.
In the midst of the ‘lockdown’ it’s time to ponder over old photographs and look forward to the reopening of your favourite pubs.
This is one of the most attractive, and most photographed, pubs in London. Adorned with beautiful flower displays in summer and bedecked with many Christmas trees in winter, it’s a tourist hotspot for those seeking a quintessential London pub.
Churchillian memorabilia gives the interior an eclectic charm. Friendly staff greet both regulars and ‘passing trade’ with a warm welcome.
Fullers ales and other craft beers are well-kept. Food here is Thai only - one of my favourite cuisines. It looks and smells great but personally I prefer traditional pub grub in traditional pubs, so drink here and eat elsewhere. Not a criticism, just a personal preference.
Hopefully it will reopen soon!
M. A.
Brilliantly quaint pub. Nice drink, great service.
Outside is decorated stunningly!!
N. H.
Very typical pub, good beers, warm atmosphere, and fine decoration. Perfect for a weekend in London!
J. S.
Great beer and Thai food. The outside of the building is beautiful but be sure to stop in for a pint or 3.
N. M.
Love the decor, the drinks and the Thai food. Their drunken noodle is flavorful and really spicy, definitely not for the faint hearted.
t. 3.
Interesting place both externally and internally. The London Pride was good. Strange anyone would fill an entire ceiling with chamber pots...
D. S.
I visited this great real ale pub in the Kensington area of London on Wednesday 13th October 2021
This pub is a belter serving numerous hand pumped ales in great condition lovely staff and really good clientele.
This pub is a must for real ale drinkers to visit
A. P.
Always best. Beer the best
Now it's new kitchen. Asian style
D. C.
Lovely place lots to see memorabilia all over ceiling and walls the thai restaurant in the back is lovely with friendly heloful staff, cometely recommend a visit.
B. E.
Interesting old school pub, but if you walk to the right after entering, you end up in an adjacent Thai restaurant. If you like Thai, the food is good. Not 5 star, but still good. I might have preferred fish and chips but the family was fine with Thai so there you go. A true demonstration of London's multicultural diversity.
D. B.
What an unusual pub! Full of charm and always busy. The Thai food was cheap but pretty good. Definitely worth a visit.
R. C.
Really well decorated pub, really nice place to have some drinks in a real British spirit.
G.
Really tasty food. Popular place so expect a queue. Price is very reasonable for London. Staff are quite abrupt. Still worth going - for the food!
A.
Excellent, delicious food. It all tastes very authentic and reminds me of my "Thai-me" in 🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭 😋
The staff were friendly but made an error with our order - but it's not a massive deal. The prices are very reasonable for the area (Kensington) and the interior of the restaurant / pub is very unique.
D. P.
Lovely pub with cozy atmosphere. Good selection of local ales and beers. Will visit again.
I. N.
The pictures can describe everything! 😍

One of the best Place I ever see in London. Good beer and a really Amazing atmosphere
A. I.
This is a review for the Thai restaurant and not the pub:
They serve cheap, fast and filling meals. The pad thai was okay, but I've had a lot better other places. Very large portions at least.
The staff were pushy and told us to hurry up eating. They told us that they were expecting people within an hour which I personally think they tell everyone just to get people out faster. Half of the restaurant was empty when we were there.
It's also the very first Thai restaurant I've been to where they don't have chopsticks.
N. Č.
I absolutely love this place. Food is amazing and decorations are very interesting both outside and inside of the pub. It is definitely something to be seen.
Take service at the Thai restaurant with a bit of grain. There is old lady with a bit of attitude especially during lunch hour but she is really nice especially if you are regular and can crack up joke from time to time.
The bar part is also very good during the day as well as in the evenings. It gets crowded and loud but this is what London pubs are suppose to be like. If you are a tourist in London make sure you visit this one it is attraction worth visiting. Oh and number four will never disappoint you if you order it for lunch or dinner.
M. B.
Just a warning when you eat here you can only sit at your table for an hour. They try to make it so people don't have to wait for a table. The food was great, the service was fast and the atmosphere was super cool. English pub up front Indian restaurant in the back. My words can not do justice for the inside so I have a picture of the mass amounts of plants.
D. O.
Nice place for a drink. Must be one of the best decorated pub in London, definitely one of the most photographed
t.
Amazing place that’s like walking into a time warp vortex. Every single surface is covered with memorabilia and trinkets, absolutely fascinating to look at. A great place for people watching!
R. B.
Amazing staff in the bar and the restaurant - So genuine and friendly. Thank you for 22 years of me visiting when I'm in the area.
J. K.
As far as London pubs go, this was a favorite. Beautifully decorated exterior with a quaint, old style interior. Cozy spots to sit with a fun, friendly vibe.
D. B.
We only stopped for a pint but the people on the next table had a meal that looked delicious, so we ordered one. It was really nice, fresh, well-cooked and really great value for £11.
A. A.
Looks great from outside, went there after seeing a lot of pictures on the Instagram. Like any other pub from inside serving the most common beers and ales from London. No live music is played, and was crowded. We were lucky to find a place. Prices are decent, friendly staff.
a. p.
This place is unique with a greeting of flowers all over the outside and inside there a good atmosphere. They have Thai restaurant that is extremely popular,so may have to wait awhile for a table. Highly recommended.
K. A.
Friendly staff and great atmosphere. The beer selection is the same as all the big chains. Food is very good. Note: this place is not very accessible for wheelchair users.
D. B.
Awesome concept: combination Thai food and pub in a space with such a unique character. Great vibes, good bear, and tasty Thai food (basically everything is 10£).
R. J.
Such a beautiful pub and the Thai food is a delicious surprise! 😊
A. C.
So much character and so many trees!! This place is Instagram heaven.
Oh, and the Thai food is pretty darn good too.
E. C.
Awesome pub located close by Kensington which is where we were staying. The pub has a beautiful exterior with lots of foliage which I can imagine looks amazing in bloom.
The pub had plenty of seating if you don't mind sitting around the back in their Thai restaurant, you may have to spend a set amount in order to do so.
They have a plentiful drink selection and lots of good people dropping by to make a good connection with. It's a short walk from the Notting hill tube station which makes getting back really convenient.
J. P.
Besides being just an interesting bar filled with butterflies, flower pots and Churchill memorabilia, it also has delicious Thai food. Good pad thai and penang curry. The pad kee-mao was amazing (and pretty hot!)
C. R.
Friendly staff and great atmosphere. This pub is a victim of its own success and was rammed by 430pm on a weekday.
D. M.
The Churchill Arms built in 1750, this Kensington pub was once frequented by Winston Churchill's family. It's important to understand that there's 2 parts to this pub; a pub and a Thai restaurant. The outside of the pub and inside of the restaurant is full of flowers especially in Spring & Summertime. Inside the pub is some great photos of politicians and celebrities that have visited the Churchill over the years. A great pub with open fire and good value for money restaurant.
Update 2020
I've been coming to this pub and restaurant for almost 10 years now when visiting London. On this trip I notice the restaurant staff weren't so aggressive with the time we were allowed to stay. On previous times when we didn't book a table they would fit you in but told you that you harshly that you only had 1 hour max to eat and get out. And of course I understand the business side of this. What was disappointing in November 2019 was the standard of food. The presentation and quality of food was below average for the first time ever and that was a shame.
C. T.
The decorations on the pub are awesome and the Thai food is great too!
D. C.
Nice Thai food at great prices. Nice ambience and the staff are friendly. I offer 10/10 for this place. Normally bookings are recommended but can avail tables with 20-30 minutes wait.
Z. V.
Good place. Kitchen: good Thai food. Recommended A ++++
I. G.
A personal favourite for obvious reasons. Traditional English pub with some extravagant decor inside and out. The Thai restaurant at the back is consistently exceptional. Especially the massaman curry. This place never disappoints having frequented it for over 10 years.
N. L.
Really nice pub. Good selection beers and pies. Recommend
A. S.
The vibe is difficult to classify. The front is classic English pub - dark wood, dim interior, folks enjoying a pint. The back is a busy Thai restaurant overflowing with plants, flowers and decorations. We opted for the food which was very good. Seating is tight and the staff was very busy but attentive.
D. H.
Absolutely love this pub.great inside and out.summer flowers outside,Christmas time they have Christmas trees all outside.its a must in london
E. B.
Surprisingly this pub with Thai kitchen, not bad at all and especially the size of every dish, but the service could be better
G. L.
Lovely cozy place!
I used to go with my friend who visit me in London.
One of my favourite and tasty restaurant in London!
Price is cheap, and food is really good.
But when you take a food in restaurant, there is time limits around 60-90min.
So it is better order food in the pub!
Number 16 + GUINNESS is the best ever
C. J.
Wow, what a splendid pub with the most tasty cuisine. Such a beautiful sight to see and the atmosphere is exuberant with the beautiful pub interior. Such a treat to have a meal and a great draft to go with it.
J. v. U.
A nice pub with loads of WW2- related pictures, model airplanes and all other kind of objects. The staff is friendly and happily provides advise on the type of drinks they have. They have some local beers on the tap.
The place in itself could need a bit of cleaning (knowing that it's a pub and drinks get spilled now and then, but one has to draw a line somewhere). Some pictures can barely be seen due to the thick dust layer.
Some of the seating is so close together that you're nearly sitting on your neighbours lap.
So overall a nice and cosy place to have a drink, friendly staff. Nice to have seen and recommendable, but wouldn't go again.
J. D.
The most beautiful bar/pub in London with a good location!
L. A.
Was a lovely traditional old English pub. Lots of war memorabilia, nice people and very busy. Can tell it's a well looked after and sort after pub that people want to see. (shame it was like 110° that day so was very hot inside with all the people) will defo go again when I'm down that way.
C. B.
Saw some pictures with the place and I said I have to go see this pub. It was indeed really nice and interesting. The waiter was very kind and funny. It's definitely a nice pub to enjoy few pints outside and have pictures with the beautiful building. Recommend it!
R.
A nice place for those who want to try a different taste of pub 😁
O. M.
Absolutely delicious Thai food at pretty fair prices. The duck curry was really great.
E. T.
Utter gem of a boozer. Go, drink fine ale and drink in the décor. Great food too.
A. K.
Great place. Great atmosphere, great Guinness and yummy Thai food
Y. G.
Cool pub that also have a a Thai restaurant inside. Nice atmosphere. Good Thai food and beer.
L. K.
Beautiful green decoration and very tasty and not expensive food! Must visit place on a London Trip!
M. H. S.
It's a popular and interesting Pub where is full of social, historical and political objects with a nice Beer Garden.
T. T.
This little gem we discovered as we wandered through Nottinghill and what a great place to stumble upon. An Irish pub that serves Thai food in the back all in a quaint London neighborhood.
T. A.
Great pub, would make a good date spot and restaurant is brilliant.
J. D.
The food is excellent and the pints were nice. Great interior and exterior. Highly recommended.
M. B.
Great place and good beer. Very busy but nice atmosphere.
C. G.
If you're looking for an atmospheric pub filled to the brim with antique bits hanging from the ceiling then this is you should definetely grab a pint here. The staff are super friendly and the beers cold and tasty. There are a couple fireplaces for those cold winter days and aparently there is an amazing selection of Thai food located at the rear part of the pub (I personally haven't tried it though).
Overall it's a very traditional pub that I'd highly recommend.
C. M.
Lots of fun... it looks like a wedding cake. Great chance for photos and selfies inside and out. Have waited for Christmas to come round to see it but am told its great all year round.
한.
In a rany day, I visited this restaurant. Nobody was outside but inside, it was like staying in the underground in rush hour. So we had to have dinner in an hour. They have Thai food. It's not real Thai taste but everyone can eat and enjoy. Exteior is perfect everytime.
R. H.
Very odd place: looks great from the outside but if you go in you'll be confronted by a dark, grim and cluttered interior. I'm not sure Churchill would have endorsed it! And the toilets smell like a sewer (which seems to be acceptable in British pubs for some reason). The staff were friendly and efficient but that's all I can say that was positive. We left after one drink...
S. B.
Fun pub decked out in Churchill decor, Thai food is also yummy
C. J. G.
Old style British pub with wooden interiors. Famous at Christmas time for its outside light display.
J. S.
Yes but no but. I love a Fuller's pub more than most and was chuffed to see ESB on tap but despite the glorious flora and decor, I couldn't help but think it has become far too successful on TripAdvisor or Fodor's. No locals to be seen. The pint was good and the place is a sight to behold nonetheless.
R. C.
Nice pub. Very touristy for its colourful exterior. Quite busy but quick service. Thai restaurant inside which smelt really good.
A. T.
Yesterday was my 3rd time at Churchill's arms; it's always a pleasure to come back as the food is amazing, promptly prepared, always fresh, hot & super tasty! Loved the atmosphere created by "Thai restaurant & English pub" concept, absolutely stunning every time! +1 to the staff as well as pub's selection of IPAs. I will surely be back soon!
A. G.
Great iconic photo location in london, worth the walk to. Great park near by 5 minute walk to sit and relax. Would not expect to see this building in the location it is. Great find.
I. M.
Amazing. The best pub in London.Fantastic atmosphere and sooooo Xmassy
B. D. S.
Nice and unique pub close to High Street Kensington. Good selection of beers, friendly staff. Avoid busy times.
A. x. A.
A bit small and crowded, but definitely worth it. Food was amazing and service was quick. Environment was also cozy.
R. S.
Arrived early for my dinner booking so was able to relax in the bar area. Great atmosphere, super service from waiters and bartenders too.
Dinner in the Thai kitchen was delicious, will 100% be returning. Again, fantastic service, wonderful decor and lovely location.
M. G.
Definitely one of a kind place, stunning looks from outside and very interesting from inside. Worth to go for one pint as prices are as high as popular this pub is.
A. L.
Good range of beers in a pub with atmosphere. Friendly staff and a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by.
I. C.
So worth a visit, especially as the outside is decorated, and now with Christmas trees. Great Thai food, great atmosphere and good beer. 🌲🌲🌲
G. B.
Great traditional iconic boozer in one of my favourite areas of London! A bit too traditional in layout but overall a really great, atmospheric ambience.
R. M.
Nice pub, good selection of beers and ales.
It seems to be mentioned a lot on forums and beer guides since it has a well maintained floral exterior and at Christmas is decorated to the nines.
Worth a stop by if you’re in the local area.
Small inside but has a very cozy feel. Would go back.
A. A. C.
Me and my boyfriend's favourite place to go for Thai food :) it was crowded but we were very lucky to get the seats quickly. Food came so quickly too, definitely going back hungry for more
R.
Great food. Good old school pub.
R. R.
Very nice pub with a unique atmosphere. The place is easy to recognise by the plants that go from the bottom to the top of the building facade. Inside the pub showcases lots of Winston Churchill memorabilia.
D. W.
Good food, pleasant and interesting decor.
N. S.
Set back from the main Street you would not know it was there if you don't know the area but oldy worldy atmosphere nice place to have a drink
Z. S.
Love the amazing decorations as well as food and drinks. Worth to visit!
M. R.
Utterly bonkers pub!!! Lots of WW2 memorabilia and in one room an entire ceiling of old chamber pots. Great service and a really interesting pub to go in. Enjoy. M
L. S.
Excellent pub with real character & a comfortable & relaxed atmosphere despite observing the Covid regulations. We were able to leave our track & trace details by giving names & phone numbers. The staff were efficient friendly & polite. The beer was well kept & the Thai food was delicious. Table service was rapid despite the pub being quite busy.
c. l.
A realy traditional pub loved it.
M. J.
Amazing external decorations throughout the year plus good internal atmosphere.
g. l.
Everything good, beautiful pub outside, intriguing interior.
Fast, friendly service
Lovely staff and atmosphere throughout
J. E.
Nice hidden restaurant. Some tasty Thai dishes despite of the lack of some classical ones. The waitress was really unfriendly.
J. C.
Always make time to pop in to this little gem
J. R.
Great pub, lovely staff, made to feel very welcome
S. L.
People here are mostly tourists like me. Great beer selection. There's also a beautiful and authentic Thai restaurant next door.
C. A.
Amazing pub ! Continues the tradition of oldest english pubs...no music inside
J. F.
The Thai food was great, the sneaked us in to a table and it was totally worth it! Beef curry!!
N. D.
Great food and atmosphere, during the past few years they double the price of the dishes.
M. C.
Famous for summer and winter decorations. Nice pub, real ales and a Thai restaurant in the back. Very busy on a Sunday afternoon , but still managed to fit a group of folk musicians while we were there.
S. C. K.
I can feel typical atmosphere of English pub in the short time. Great place to have a drink!
J. D.
I have wanted to visit here for a while and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was brilliant and it looks so fab
P. C.
Brilliant atmosphere. Very warm and welcoming. Worth the visit
B. F.
Beautifully decorated pub with very friendly staff. Thai food available in the back rooms. Looked delicious.
J. C.
Great atmosphere and beers but improbable Thai food
K. B.
Excellent Oldest Pub of London, serving rarely - Thai food
R.
Lovely pub and nice Thai food
R. R.
Lively British pub in Notting Hill with one of a kind decor. The exterior is adorned with flowers on several levels and the interior pays homage to British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
M.
Had a pint and people watched here. Beautiful photogenic exterior and just as much character inside. Highly recommend.
J. C.
Charming pub with excellent staff and wonderful selection of drinks and food
F. T.
This is the place we usually hang out after work. Thai food is average but the staffs are friendly and their Thai ice tea is my favorite!
D. N.
Famous, big pub. Known for its gigantic and excentric exterior decoration of flower baskets or Christmas trees. Inside it's a Fullers pub with all the usual beers, and a restaurant with a Thai flavour. Oddly, the interior is mostly historic photos and Irish memorabilia. A rather bizarre combination which seems to keep the pub very busy all year roumd.
M. S. (.
Best Thai with wonderful ambience!
J. w.
Beautiful pub. Cracking exterior and interior. A quintessentially English public house
D. E.
The façade is really distinctive and makes for a great picture. Inside is just like a regular pub. I was there in a really hot day (30C) and it was unbearable inside.
S. R.
Fabulous place to eat food fantastic.
Staff lovely.
Highly recommend
A. P.
One of the best pubs in town with very cool decorations.
F. M.
Very nice place for having a quick lunch with a beer. The restaurant is Thay based. Incredibile atmosphere inside with the plants that come down from the roof.
B. L.
Fantastic pub/ Restaurant with unique Thai dishes !
I. W.
Big dishes with great beer, flowers are always decorated all over here.
F. V.
Loved it ! This is what you're looking for when you want to experience a proper english pub !
S. O.
It is amazing. I love the decor. A mix between UK and IE
G. K.
Busy pub a short walk from Notting Hill Gate, with established Thai food in the back restaurant.
R. N.
You musy see this pub. One of the most amazing pub in London for its unique decoration, the warmth and Christmasy like atmosphere!
O. B.
Just awesome! You should look it up online and go there!
b. c.
Wow this pub is absolutely something!! When people going to take pictures of blue door in nottinghill they should go instead to Churchill!! Also this is the best decorated pub in London over Christmas !! Amazing
M. B.
Yes, the beer is expensive but it is OK. The pub is a great place to visit though
C. A.
Lovely pub with WW2, cricket and all sorts of other memorabilia inside. Friendly service. Gets very busy as so popular but worth a visit.
K. B.
Highly recommend the number 8. This was my favorite restaurant during my trip to London.
A. A.
Great Thai food here. I've visited so many times with my friends and always enjoyed it! The decor is also very unique and the pub is usually busy. Just a really good feel and ambience and service is great. I've tried the red curry with chicken, beef, prawn, green curry and pad Thai and never been disappointed. It's worth a visit.
D. H.
Classic British pub combined with a Thai restaurant and works well.
A.
Day Three: We've been camped among the stools and bric-a-brac of the Arms for nigh on 4 eves now, and still no sign of the man himself: Churchill. The men grow restless and my resolve, whilst given of the outward appearance a stalwart persistence, has begun to waver. Surely a pub with such a namesake and history would draw the man himself yea but on the regular. At least, 'tis the hope of my company.
In the meantime, the men have grown accustomed to the friendly nature of the staff, and welcome sight of potted greenery adorned the building's facade. Truly these is no homier of an establishment to be found on the shores of ol'blighty as such as our boots are set to grace here. In our long hours of idleness, we've been set to enjoying various bagged treats as are available behind the bar counter. Many delectable things acquired from the far corners of the empire, to be sure. All paling in comparison to the fine ales, lagers and brews set about the counter, on cast and by tap from the new world. The men's resolve may be in question, but I daresay their bellies, nay their minds, have never been happier!
While my company may be passing our time with a purpose 'fore the British Bulldog graces us with his presence, I feel comfortable in saying that any and all of our number would not hesitate to extoll the virtues of The Churchill arms. Travellers and local patrons alike would not be remiss to drop penny and pound upon it's prestigious counters!
T. L.
Beautiful pub with plants all over (often wins awards from the Chelsea flower show), great spot for pints, incredible Thai food served
H. R.
I would’ve probably given 4 or 5 stars for the pub alone, given how pretty the place is outside and inside. Very enjoyable setting. The beer selection is average. The reason for 3 stars is the Thai restaurant though where we had lunch. Both food and service were average. Affordable prices though. Not all bad for a Sunday lunch but better options around I’d say. In conclusion, would be back for drinks, not for food.
A. M.
As packed with patrons on normal days (I haven’t been back since before lockdown) as it is beautifully decorated. And deservedly so: good Thai food with literally the very best restaurant meal pricing in the area, and a good selection of beers (Fulham’s) that are distinct from many of the other nearby pubs.
J. M.
Definitely go and experience the cozy atmosphere, decor and friendly staff. I had a blast!
E. F.
Lovely atmosphere n decor but was to crowded to stay
c. w.
Fantastic pub, amazing Thai food highly recommend
L. L.
Amazing traditional pub with a real treat behind the main area
S. J.
Authentic as it comes far as Public Houses
a. s.
Cool (crowded) decor and very busy, but the service at the Thai restaurant was quite poor. The waiters seemed annoyed by any question and brought the bill before getting a chance to even order dessert. The food was average, had better Thai food. Maybe just for drinks at the bar would've been a better experience :)
S. R.
A must see in London.... Sit down, grab a pint and enjoy the a piece of british history inside the pub! 😃 👍
G. B.
Pretty good selection of drinks, nice staff, and unique interior. Highly recommended!
L. M.
Nice beers, friendly staff and great food.
C. Ö.
Amazing exterior decoration, super full inside always !
A. s.
This is a facinating pub, well worth a visit just to marvel at the hanging baskets amd trinkets everywhere.
Loving the tricolour 🇮🇪
K. M.
I love this pub. I started drinking there in 1981, as I used shop in the area. My husband (unknown to me at the time) used to live round the corner and also used this pub. We watched it grow under Gerry, making sure we regularly visited despite our address and I have to say this pub is unsurpassable, especially at Christmas. The vibe and decorations are great. The introduction of a very good and very affordable Thai restaurant under Gerry's stewardship a brilliant decision. I bring all my close friends here and just introduced two new people to the experience today. I was reluctant to post this as it gets increasingly busy and I would like it to be a bit of a secret. But obviously a couple of pints of London Pride have brought out my more generous spirit and the posting is well deserved. Great pub, staff, beer and food. What more can you ask for? Top of my ten Desert Island Pubs
N. J.
Distinctive and traditional - mixed with a bit of a twist of British eccentricity. An Impressive and photogenic floral display out front and cracking Thai food served efficiently with a smile and the beavertown neck oil went down well too. Definitely worth another visit or 2!
S.
I loved this place as soon as I saw it. The flowers on the exterior of the building were breathtaking. I was seated in an enclosed patio with ivy and other indoor plants hanging from the ceiling. The decor was very cool. I ordered a noodle dish, and the portions were generous. It was delicious! Definitely try this place!
S. S. T.
Very beautiful Pub with good Thai food and friendly people.
J. C.
Good prices and homey atmosphere. Food came out quickly and the whole place started smelling amazing. I would not go for any of the level three spice since I tried what a friend got but if you can handle your spice go for it. They warn you the Thai iced tea is really sweet and it was but it is also addicting. If you need any other drink the bar is right outside or you can even eat in the bar area.
D. N.
Quaint place with nice Thai food restaurant
K. F.
This is one of my favourite pubs in London. The inside is just as magnificent as the outside, and the Thai food is delicious. Every time I come here I spot something new on the ceiling/walls! Definitely make a reservation for dinner to avoid (sometimes very long) wait times.
B. L.
N. D.
SUCH a fantastic pub.. was there this weekend with some friends and my sausage dog.. the whole staff from the bartenders to staff to even the cook were so welcoming, friendly and kind. The vibe is fabulous, very bustling. Absolutely cannot wait to go back again. Shout out specifically to the girls working Saturday Feb 29th, they were outstanding
K. O.
Great atmosphere, food and decor. Perfectly chaotic and very quaint. I would die to live here and will now use this place as reference for decorating my house. I will definitely be back soon.
M. P.
Very authentic British pub with a tiny Thai restaurant in back. The whole vibe at the pub is worth seeing.
A. K.
It is so aesthetically iconic that I would describe it as a sightseeing place, more than a pub. Good beer, awesome atmosphere and there's a Thai restaurant in the back room (bigger than I thought). From curries to pad thai, it covers a fair range of staple thai dishes. Everything is amazingly cooked and the prices are really low considering the portions. If you want to try eating exotic food in a jungle-like, lush green environment, there you go.
r. h.
Love this pub , never miss it whilst in London . See you on remembrance Sunday
S. o. A.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when my good friend invited me to Churchill for Lunch , but interestingly the food was great and the drinks were quite refreshing , I would definitely visit again for Lunch when next I am in London .
A. H.
Lovely pub full of memorabilia
Also a Thai food restaurant
A. Z.
Love this little pub! So cosy and comfortable. Perfect for casual catch ups.
My only criticism would be that the Thai restaurant has a completely different vibe. The front of house lady on Tuesday was very rude and unnecessarily unhelpful but I would not want this to reflect badly on the overall pub, therefore still giving it 5*. We ended up ordering food over to one of the bar tables, which was probably a much better decision anyway.
I would also like to highlight that the pub staff around the bar area and behind the bar were so lovely and helpful.
S. J.
A beautiful place but very packed in Saturdays and Sundays. Only 1 hour slot for lunch. You need to pay and leave after 1 hour during the weekend
J. G.
Spicey thai food was good, corporate beer selection was not.
A. V.
The best pub in Nothing hill. Most famous, GUINNESS is goood…
J. N.
Nice pint of Pride, not too busy.
R. J.
Great traditional English pub with a good selection of drinks and probably London's best Thai food
G. O.
Lovely pub with a good vibe inside and out
T.
One of the best pubs in Kensington.
They always have such gorgeous display of flowers ornating the building. The interior is an eclectic collection of items and art. This pub has such a great vibe. A huge hit with tourists and visitors taking pictures both inside and out.
The Thai restaurant serve delicious food and is served in the conservatory. The conservatory feels like a separate entity to the main pub. It is nicely decorated and welcoming. Food is served fresh and must be tried.
I have always had a good afternoon / evening when going for a drink or meal. There are many interesting characters to meet at the bar. The staff are great to chat to.
A definite must see and visit for nationals and tourists alike.
I would appreciate a thumbs up if you found this review helpful. Thank you 😊
S. B.
Okay so when you first walk into this place and you see all the pictures of Churchill you may not think Thai food. However this place is amazing I mean take a look at the size of those portions. The food was incredible, I had the classic pad Thai and my sister had Jasmine rice and we've got some spring rolls for appetizers and a bottle of bubbly water and it was less than 40 bucks. I would highly recommend this if you are a connoisseur of Thai food. I like the elderly woman took our order she had lots of attitude and emphasized to us no less than three times that we could only hold a table down for 1 hour. Lol cute.
G. G.
My favourite old English pub. A place with character and interesting decor. Attracts nice, chatty people. A good atmosphere. I like Thai cousin too, which is quite unusual. It’s definitely the one to remember. Great Christmas decoration outside. It’s always crowded but worth visiting x
B. M.
Delicious! We did not have reservations, but they were able to seat us as long as we were out in about an hour. That was no problem. The service was friendly and fast, and the food was outstanding. Fantastic Thai food for very good prices. The atmosphere inside was very enjoyable, too. Potted plants on the walls and hanging down from the ceiling and fun memorabilia on the walls. A must visit if you like Thai food.
p. f.
Very nice looking pub full of memorabilia!
S. G.
Loved this pub! I do not drink but thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere! The Thai food was wonderful and I have eaten in Thailand. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. Plus, the outside decorations alone are worth the trip!
A. H.
No-nonsense, tasty Thai food in a really atmospheric pub with lovely interior decor (loads of flowers) with fast service. The location is fantastic too, very close to Notting Hill or High St Ken. Great value for money.
It's usually busy so if you want to eat, it's a good idea to book in advance. You usually have only 1 hour to eat during busy periods.
C. H.
What a great place, when you walk in.....look up at the ceiling to see some interesting knick knacks
C.
Great pub, lots of character. Good beers on tap and the Thai food was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful, and doing a good job of managing their COVID obligations.
S. P. N.
Definitely on the list of the 'Must to See Pubs ' in London. Old style pub, with awesome traditional decoration. They serve Thai food since decades, and a funny place to be if come around Notting Hill area.
J. S.
This pub made me feel like Christmas had visited this pub.
G. A.
Good beer and pub. The Thai restaurant food is below average
K. f. a. d.
#getfestive
Quite possibly the most festive pub in the world!
R. J.
A nice pub with a hidden Thai restaurant in the back. The prices are fine for central London. The food at the restaurant isn't exceptional, but good value for money.
G. D.
Must see and visit pub up the road from Notting hill tube station. Great atmosphere great food but always busy later in the week so make sure you get there ealry
R. M.
Great ambiance and food was superb! Big servings at an affordable price.
O. G.
I had fun eating here! I love the decor!
B. “. V.
Great pub lots of history. The ceiling is an art form in itself. Make sure to get here promptly before rush hour or else finding a seat is very challenging. Beware they do not serve good for its only the Thai food restaurant next door which is quite odd given the venue. All in all great experience and will definitely be there again.
D. C.
I come here regularly. Great decor and friendly staff. Thai food here is quite good as well, reminds me of when I was living in Asia. Staff don't necessarily respond to requests though.. had to ask for tap water and cutlery 3 or 4 times.
D. H.
I'm hovering between 4 and 5 stars. Its beautiful plant strewn exterior is matched by its authentic rustic and quirky interior. Atmospheric, and deservedly busy, though it can be a bit cramped. The Thai restaurant part gives you an hour at the tables, so you need to be ready to go when they seat you. I'm sure Winston would approve!
B. G.
This place is a pub, but if you keep going, it's Thai restaurant in the back. You can drink at the bar while you wait for the table. I went to this place with my sister first, and ordered an appetizer (shrimp spring rolls) and 2 main dishes, and a beer for each of us. The sizing was great, not too much. We loved our Pad See Eew and Green Curry. Also the flavored beer was good. For the second time, I ordered the same thing with Thai iced tea. It was little past 3pm so it wasn't crowded. I highly recommend this restaurant/pub! I'm sure to go back for more
T.
Great old pub with very good thai kitchen in separated area - cool combination of multi-culture in London!
D. H.
Being coming here for 17 years. And the food never disappoints. One of the first places I come to when I come to the UK.
M. G.
Fantastic pub .Lovely view from outside of hanging baskets
A. K.
This is a pub with a twist. Lovely place to go for a works lunch. Good Thai foods at reasonable prices. Most if not all dishes are £9.00. Do not go if you are in a rush as waiting times vary as it does become quite full. The decor is eclectic and your eyes will have plenty to focus on of dining alone.
E.
There's a decent and reasonably priced Thai restaurant at the back. Good selection of 🍺

Despite having to wait 30 minutes for a table (which is fine because you can just hang at the bar and have a drink), the Churchill Arms was great! Reasonably priced, excellent Thai food and great service. The juxtaposition with the classic British pub atmosphere and the great Thai food was interesting. Definitely recommend for a different pub experience.

Beautiful place, unique, GREAT food. Staff is fairly garbage on the bar side - the restaurant staff were lovely. The seating area near the men’s washroom smells like absolute PISS, it’s super nasty and was completely off putting. I wanted to leave but then saw a couple plates of food come by us and had to stay. Glad we did. Just don’t sit by the men’s washroom.

Awesome place. Beautiful flowers that really contribute to setting the ambiance. The whole decor is very quirky I would say. The Thai food is very good. Overall, I'd say this is a great spot to go to if you're in London. Good for going with a group of friends.
T. S.
Real tourist trap, big lines to get to drink and hard to find a seat. It stinks of fish of fish sauce from all the Thai food. Flowers outside are lovely and always changing, a quick pint is all you need!!
j. j.
The aussie chap with the blonde hair has epic energy, so warm and welcoming, would return just to interact with him. Nice pub, good beer. Little lady at the door wasn't the most polite but nothing that would stop me returning especially during these weird covid times we are experiencing. It is nice to support local businesses.
B. G.
Very nice place with remarkable atmosphere and fast service; the only drawback in experience being the one-hour seating limitation.
t. e.
Beautiful looking pub we was there for a football game so it's really busy
I. p.
Lovely place! Fairytale looking, especially in December!
M. h.
Nice pub, with a thai restaurant!
L. H.
Crowded but got right in for dinner. Good Thai food and prompt service, even though the guy seating us asked if we're ok with eating Thai and also said we could only have an hour! (We thought it was funny that he stated that!) We'd go back and would recommend to others.
E. M.
Good pub for tourists with all the British memorabilia, but a bit busy and popular for my liking (didn't feel like a locals' pub). The Thai food was really tasty and good value for money (my reason for the visit). Be prepared to eat and go in the restaurant though as you're only allowed an hour! Would recommend for something a bit different.
P. A.
A classic pub and instagram darling! The front is a proper dark wood English pub with low tables and wall to wall memorabilia. Lots of Churchill and 40s decor - including an impressive collection of bedpans. Standard selection of beers and wines. The hidden treat is the amazing thai food served in the back. Walking through to the restaurant is like moving to another world - gone is the dark wood and old-English style. Instead you are in an airy atrium filled with plants. Fantastic food - especially if you like spicy! They're always busy so you'll get 1-2 hours maximum at the table, so not a place to linger over an after dinner coffee. But - want a pint and some tasty food and this is for you!
V. K.
Very touristy and famous for its decorations. Thai restaurant offers a very decent food but you can sit on the dinner site only for an hour as it gets too busy and they want to free tables as soon as possible.
C. D.
Known and famous for its flowers in summer and Christmas trees in winter, the Churchill Arms bar isn’t even the best feature of this place. The Thai restaurant hidden at the back is.
Seriously, this is the best Thai food in London. Every dish is delicious, tasty and copious.
It’s so good that it is unfortunately always busy. But you can always wait a bit at the bar until your table is ready, or even better, you can order at their counter and enjoy your food in the bar area.
Did I mention the fresh flowers everywhere? So lovely...

I've loved this place for years now. I hear the old Irish landlord has retired now & who was part of the charm. With great food, take away or eat in, I truly hope this pub is living up to its title of Fuller's flagship pub.
A. S.
So much character, it's overwhelming. Amazing atmosphere and great drinks to while away an evening almost like no other. Thai cuisine fans will swoon over the large portions but I myself am doing it for the thrill. You can get your appetite satisfied anywhere but such ambience is a rare sight so I just try to take in as much as possible when I relax and simply enjoy the character of this place.
A. L. P.
Plants everywhere... from the outside you cannot tell but they serve asian food - nice spicy curry
E. S.
Lovely old Fuller's pub. Slightly strange combo with the ye olde English pub with an attached Thai restaurant....but don't hate it
M. V.
On the tourist trail, and not the local Fullers pub I remember from the 80s and 90s. There's nothing wrong except the sheer volume of people there, and it really struggles to cope. The night I was last there the place smelled pretty bad, but it was probably a combination of Thai food and hot crowds. The food looks pretty decent, and the interior (and the Christmas exterior) are pretty and very lovely, there's an open fire, and the drinks are good. But beware - you're going to have to stand for your first 45 mins, and probably fight for a table with someone who might never have visited a pub before who has 2 kids and a furious wife with sore feet in tow ...
P. H.
Fantastic! Venue fab, food fab, staff were great, got us in early, brilliant atmosphere
S. G.
Love love love the food there! The place looks really lovely and especially the decoration. If you love butterflys this is the place to be.
V. A.
A pub with great food. I love Thai food and I found this place to be one of the best for Thai cuisine. I sat in the garden area. Even though tables are packed, it was freshening to be in so much greenery.
Great exteriors. It is worth going out of your way to experience this pub. Put this in your itinerary when visiting Nottingham market.
E. T.
It's a great photo opportunity if you happen to be in the area.
S. F.
Lovely pub with friendly staff. Fullers ESB on pump 🍺🍺🍺 And at back Thai resturant. Superb food, good value for money and lovely Thai people. Will visit and enjoy again soon.
T. J.
Well, what more needs to be said about The Churchill? One of the most characterful pubs around. Very rarely not packed. Good bears. Good Thai food in the conservatory. If you're in the area and have never been, a visit is a must.
I. M.
How can you not love to visit a pub covered in Christmas trees and lights at this time of year and flowers in the spring and summer? The food in the back is also excellent, thai dishes that taste fantastic. Go you won't regret it.
C. J.
We went here for a birthday dinner and it was one of the best Thai foods I’ve ever eaten. Service was good and pub had nice beers. Enjoyed my visit
A. C.
Looks amazing from the outside and very nice inside
F.
Wonderful place and I have no words to describe it. The decoration is super awesome. The thai food is really yummy and it's worth the price.
Even if you're not planning to eat something, just grab a beer to discover this place!
O. D. M.
Great cozy pub. Can get crowded but the Thai food is damn good.
M. O.
Do not listen to the reviews about this place. I was in two minds about coming here as the reviews put me off. It is a hidden gem and yes it gets very busy very quickly. We managed to get a table and were told you can only have it for an hour. That was all the time we needed. If you like spicy food then try the jungle curry, i had a noodle dish but didn't check the chilli rating.... I was on fire but it was worth it, even the waitress said she doesnt eat it as it is very hot!! The taste was amazing!!! We also had Thai prawn crackers and spring rolls. For two of us we paid £25, we ordered our drinks at the bar before we ate. By the time we left at just before seven there was a queue to get seated.
B. S.
Great aesthetics lackluster food.
This was a very cool place. The magnificent garden on the outside of the building dripps from the ceiling and rushes in from the windows. It has a lot of character.
I ate at the restaurant portion (there is also a pub). It is Tai food but heavily anglicized (strip out any authentic flavour and add a cup of sugar), so it wasn't great. The service was good and responsive however.
I would recommend it if you are just going for drinks or you're not particular about your Tai food.
R. H.
Beautiful pub, interesting company, prompt service, fab venue. Thanks for looking after us, much appreciated.
D. P.
The best Thai food in London and lovely settings. One of my favourite pubs in London. Super busy though but friendly staff and food you could only find in Thailand
L. C.
Love this place. Iconic British pub/Thai restaurant in Notting hill with great food and great prices (£15 per person) WARNING: last time I went there (last week) we saw this band stealing again a phone from the customers in the pub.. apparently is very common in this place. They put a newspaper on the phone and take advantage of when you are busy and steal it.. police came straight away but i don't know if they found the thieves
J. V. S.
A pub like no other, one must see it. We stayed in Kensington, and the pub was easy walking distance from our hotel. It is a bit surreal, even for London. Meat pies and warm ale .. wonderful. We're planning on another trip. Oh yeah, if you're going to the UK might I suggest the Queen Mary 2 out of Brooklyn. Bucket list stuff.
m. h.
Simple menu, good food, during busy periods they have a 1 hour turnover (not an issue -food comes quick, eat it quick).
S. D.
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff heard the Thai food is supposed to be very good
T. R.
The pubs decor is really cool and the bar has good service. But if you visit The Churchill Arms, you NEED to go for the amazing Thai food. I’ve been to many Thai restaurant around London and I think this place serves the best Thai food around. Definitely a real London gem.
J. L.
Really charming place to have a lunch, unique decoration, very British. Prices are reasonable, I expected them to be higher due to location. I suggest the pad Thai with prawns, really tasty and big portion. I didn't like that the waiter was rushing us, first thing he said is that we just have one hour at the table and after lunch gave us the bill without even asking for it. It's a busy place, I suggest arrive before 1 pm for lunch
C. M.
I walked into what is the typical English Pub. Great service in the front! Got a couple of pints and waited for some friends. I liked the Decor and the ambience as nice. Decided to go back and have some food. It was okay. I should add that I got the safest thing I could because it scared me that a British Pub was serving Thai food. I have eaten really good Thai so it was unfair to compare it. The pork was over cooked but everything else was good. Our waitress forgot our drinks and really never came back to check on us during our dining. It was inexpensive and I would say worth the value.
A. W.
It's a picturesque pub inside and out. War memorabilia adorn the ceiling in the bar, whilst a walk through to the back reveals an indoor garden and Thai restaurant. The menu is concise and food quite tasty, though the service can be quite aggressive at getting the table back, clearing plates of half eaten food
A. C.
Great pub with friendly locals that are very welcoming to foreigners. You're sure to meet someone here that will chat and entertain. The bartenders are very attentive and knowledgeable and will let you taste a few of the beers before you commit (there's a nice large selection of them here), wine and all the usual spirits available too. Bar snacks on request with a nice menu of appetizers and other items too. The real draw here is the Thai restaurant that operates from back of the pub. It's amazing! Pay attention to your servers recommendations and especially heed their warning when they say something is spicy (it will be)!
S. G.
Ok Thai. Had heard great things over the years so went. Limited menu. Food ok.
T. F.
Proper London pub with tons of atmosphere, great beer and wonderful decor inside and out.
The last time I was here was in my 20's 35 or so years ago. Enjoyed here today as much as I remembered I did back then.
Will be back....and I won't leave it 35-years this time.
R. F.
Must come to this place, fantastic food and atmosphere! The decor is full of history.
J. Y.
We had Thai food for a lunch here, very delicious, good quality food with a generous amount, also reasonable price. It's a good value! The interior of pub is quirky and fun. There are two fireplaces in the pub and I like to sit next to a fireplace, feeling warm and cosy. We had few largers which were reasonable price as well. Overall, I enjoyed Thai food and the atmosphere. Worthwhile to visit this place!
J. D.
Fantastic ye old pub! Its warm, inviting and cosy. A good selection of drinks on offer and really welcoming staff. When I entered I could also smell the unmistakable aroma of Thai food, only to discover that they have a fully functioning Thai restaurant in the back area. Didn't get a chance to try the food but I will definitely be going back
L. S.
The pub itself is lovely, but I go mainly for the Thai Restaurant.
Book ahead to avoid dissapoint, great Thai food in a cosy setting
J. F.
Amazing Thai food. They went nuts with Christmas decorations.
K. P.
Really cool from the outside, covered in flowers, we just stopped in for a couple drinks. Inside, it's pretty much a typical pub. No complaints, not wowed either. It's attached to a Thai restaurant or something, not sure if they have dine-in options outside of that..
A. C.
Cosy traditional pub with a fantastic authentic Thai restaurant tucked at the back. They only seat you when everyone in your party has arrived. Highly recommend the duck curry, pad thai and prawn spring rolls! Cheap and cheerful, will definitely return 😀
K. P.
Great atmosphere, definitely worth a visit. At the back of the pub, there is a Thai restaurant with authentic food and all dishes are 9 pound. Really crowded, so you should probably reserve a table if you go there on a weekend.
G. W.
Such a busy place but that, plus the great food & service, makes for a great night. Incredibly decorated.
R. C.
One of the most characterful pubs in London, full of Churchill memorabilia executed with a sense of humour. Especially good on and around Churchill's birthday, which is 30 November. It has a range of good Fuller's beers, delicious Thai food at extremely cheap prices and friendly staff. I took some American friends there and they simply loved it, though it's probably not a place for people who think that World War 2 need not have happened. Not surprisingly, it can get very busy too, especially at weekend evenings and it's a good idea to book a table in advance if you want to eat there.
O. P.
Even better for curries than for boozing up - although both generally go together quite nicely. Cheap and hearty dishes from Thailand's finest cookbook, although nothing high cuisine here. One needs to see its green, plants-covered facade and admire its random but welcoming interior decor. Go for a No 4 mixed meats with rice - easily the best dish on the menu!
K. S.
Very unique pub with an amazing Thai restaurant in the back. I had the jungle curry and my friend had pad himma parn and Thai iced tea. All the food was incredible. My curry was a really good spice level. We came at 2pm on a Tuesday and were seated immediately and food served quickly. It was a really good experience.
L. D.
I loved to be inside and eating with plants over my head. Is just different and make me happy. I like the food too so... win win, down side you have to be quick and stay there for 1 hour, but I guess is ok, is very busy.
J. S.
Our visit was over a month ago and we’re still talking about this pub. Such a perfect stop for our first in London. And if you haven’t heard already, GET THE THAI FOOD from the restaurant that’s connected to the back of this pub. It seriously may be the best food you taste in most of London. Don’t miss it.
P. C.
Pub itself is full of character and has a great vibe. Used to eat the Thai food served here 10 years ago and it was exceptional, but it has gone downhill and we didn’t even finish our meals there. So go for a drink, but not for the food.
M. A.
Very cool old fashioned English pub.. Thai restaurant is nice too.. but sometimes the food is hit and miss. Need to sort out the smell and cleanliness of the toilets... puts you off. Still worth a visit ..just to say you've had a beer here.
S.
Great to be back in a proper pub again. Lpv3lt staff, cosy atmosphere.
J. A.
Quirky traditional pub with a This restaurant on one side. Integrated well forming a good atmosphere. The pub is traditional and what one would expect from a Fullers in terms of beer selection, larger and English ales. The Thai food is good but not great. During Christmas it's busy and they are famous for the Christmas lights.
D. O.
My God the food here was fantastic. Never mind the crowd, the turnaround time was quick and we didn't even mind the 1-hour dinner time (which was enforced). Host was really friendly. Service was quick. Did I mention that the food was good? No, great, in fact.
M. “. B.
Fantastic pub, both outdoor and indoor. The Thai restaurant inside is cheap and tasty, although it's usually crowded and they try to keep a high rotation on the tables. Nonetheless, it's one of my favourite pubs in London, I usually bring friends here when they visit me and they all loved the experience.
M. L.
I didn't know how much l had missed Churchill until l was back in there recently, great to have the place open again, welcome back Churchill Arms food and staff amazing ❤
G. K.
Gorgeous building a must see. The decor is beautiful and authentic. Hard to find a seat so we got the Thai place attached. They will tell you one hour but as long as you're ordering their food and not just drinking the beer you can stay...
M. F.
Lovely food, great atmosphere!
s. d.
Very impressive pub, both exterior and interior. And their Guinness is always fresh.
Overly crowded and boozy most of the times, which is part of experience.
Enjoyable local crowd and quite many tourists at all time.
And they have a lovely Thai restaurant in the extension on the right hand side, which is both cheap and tasty.
P. S.
One of the best and quirkiest pubs in London. And the most photographed in the world. They always have such gorgeous display of flowers ornating the building. The interior is an eclectic collection of items belonging to Winston Churchill, pots and art. Such a great vibe. A huge hit with tourists taking pictures both inside and out. The Thai restaurant also serves delicious and affordable food but with only 1 hour time limit. The staff are great to chat to. Fun place.
S.
One of the best pubs in the UK in my opinion.. Great Thai food which is very reasonably priced. The interior offers a fantastic ambience, you literally won't know where to look. Such a fascinating place which oozes heritage and wow factor. Great for a first date!
S. k. M.
My first English pub. Loved it. Lot of Churchill memorabilia. Bar tenders are very nice. Cozy place. Thai food was a surprise but in a good way. Check it out.
R. C.
A beautiful pub with an incredible atmosphere, next time I am in London I will definitely be back!
E. H.
The Thai food here is like nowhere else. So tasty and we travel from Kent to get their food. You are only allowed a one hour table but the food overrides this for us
J. D.
Its located in a good location the surrounding is nice, very beautiful on the outside with the flower facade and golden letters that spell out the pubs name, and the inside is an whole other story,at first sight its stunning, things hanging from the roof and pictures everywhere with nice furniture! It's really cozy and the beer is great, very nice pub! Recommend!
S. P.
Great Fuller's pub with a charming, eclectic interior and an exterior festooned with flowers. Inside is one of the best Thai restaurants in London and definitely the best value. One hour seating in the restaurant!
Expensive beer but that's London. Good Fuller's beer selection. Near Notting Hill Gate
M. A.
Wonderful Christmas tree display outside cosy interior
W. L.
Quirky, eclectic establishment that is highly popular. It's a big bar and restaurant so won't be difficult to get a table. The bar is always crowded and attract both locals and tourists drawn by the gorgeous floral facade. Drinks prices are reasonable. I would recommend.
