This beautiful pub was built in 1893 as Prescott’s Bank and, through various iterations, became part of NatWest in 1970. Now a thoughtfully restored Fuller’s pub and hotel.
The ground floor is cavernous and the range of ales / craft beers is really impressive. The upstairs galleries are reserved for lunchtime and evening dining.
This place gets very busy and very loud as the sound echos. Lunchtime / mid-afternoon is the best time to visit, although it’s closed at the weekends.

This hotel was excellent, great location, spacious room with complimentary refreshments, comfy bed, nice staff. We didn't try the breakfast but it was included which is good for the price. The only niggle was we had the accessible room (just because it was the only one available) and the lift was broken which wasn't communicated to us before we arrived. If the room had been for someone with accessibility issues I can't imagine what they would have done, since the hotel is on the second floor.
C. T.
Why 3 stars?
The good: Location, breakfast, room size and amenities.
The bad: no toilet scrubber and the elevator was broken.
The ugly: mold in bathroom and leaking from floor above. Pictures show it all.
We came back in the evening to find a brown liquid in our tea service. This was leaking from above floor...not the fault of the hotel hopefully. The front desk lady were quick to clean up the tea service and to move us to another room next door. She was pleasant and professional.
When communicating about the arrival time, the hotel did not inform us that the elevator was broken. Reception and room are two long flights of stairs. Each time you go down the climb back up was an aerobic exercise. My knee luckily was able to maintain. Understanding now it was over a weekend, but they could have offered us a drink at the bar for our troubles.
There is no excuse for the mold.

Such a fantastic venue! Visited this as part of our Christmas party. It was very overcrowded, but this was probably due to the timing, with it being the last Thursday before the work from home advice came onto force. We had reserved a couple of tables and were seated quickly, we had also pre-ordered mulled wine which arrived quickly and was delicious. I would definitely visit again in less hectic times for a tipple it two.
K. P.
I would have given this place 2 stars because I hated their vegetarian Christmas menu. It was one of the worst I have had. I admit most vegetarian Christmas menus are terrible. However I would come back to try their regular menu. It serves me right for trying their Christmas menu based on my past experience for other restaurants Christmas offerings.
We spent 37 for 3 courses. Definitely not worth it. The main was really dry and quite bland. I wonder if the person who designed the vegetarian menu tasted what they had created.
I suggest you make your own judgement but their Christmas menu is not for me.

One of the best pubs I have ever visited for a sit down drink. Really cosy in the winter and it's twinned with a pub in Birmingham called the old joint stock, it's basically a mini version. The Amstel is tasty and around £5.50 pint. Would 100% recommend for a pit stop to refuel with a good pint in really nice surroundings.
M. W.
One of the best Fuller's pubs around. Was served by a lovely woman named Vicky. Amazing service inside a beautiful pub
P. F.
Hired the whole venue for our wedding in September, they helped organise everything before with a tasting and several meetings to talk through options and setup. Were fantastic dealing with a whole year delay to the big day as well.
On the day all the staff were so lovely and helpful, the venue looked perfect and the food was amazing.
M. B.
Just stayed the night here - amazing. Breakfast was incredible and they cater for gluten free no worries. Will go back again.

Great location, on arrival we were able to check in early as well as having a complimentary upgrade to one of the nicest rooms in the hotel. The room was extremely clean and well furnished - it looked identical to the photos advertised online. Included complimentary tea and coffee, as well as a Nescafé machine. Very comfy bed, extremely spacious, lovely clean bathroom. The view from the windows was amazing. The included breakfast was amazing and large. All the staff were lovely, the hotel receptionist was very polite and accommodating. Only 2 mins from the nearest tube stop. Will definitely be returning whenever we go to London :) We had a meal there also, which was very fast service and polite wait staff. The main bar area was nicely decorated (christmas) and well furnished.

Very busy and noisy (lead up to Christmas). Just about found somewhere to park ourselves and have a drink. Drinks not cheap but then you would expect that being where it is. Think this was an old bank premises, hence the name, before getting this makeover into a pub. Not a Wetherspoons for a change. Excellent position for a "power drink" after a bit of tough negotiation in a nearby bank 😀
M.
Very beautiful old pub and hotel. Staff friendly, reception lady for the hotel was very polite and helpful. Only downfall was the pub was closed when we arrived back from a day out at around 8.30pm was hoping to carry on the night in the pub and then can just go up to our room. Nothing much was open in the area to get drinks at that time on a Sunday.

A very nice place to dine. I had the tasting board. The restaurant is set on the first floor. Some of it is above the large bar area bit we were in a pleasant room towards the back which seated around 6 tables. I will still give a 5 despite the rather annoying policy of including the service charge without consent on the bill which had to be sent back to have it remove. We have seen this practice replicated in other Fuller's pubs such as The Flask and The Admiralty. Fuller's will now be written to, to see whether they endorse this practice.
I. M.
Love this beautiful pub. The main room is stunning, and it's lovely sitting in the mezzanine watching the business going on below. Their pies are delicious and nicely priced.
F. A.
Fairly priced, two double spirit mixer drinks were around £17, apologies for the lower rating but owing to the layout of the pub it has an almighty echo and we happened to go in when there was a loud party. It was pretty deafening. Owing to this we finished our drinks and left.
So can't comment on their food, staff seemed friendly enough
B. R.
We visited at lunchtime only as the normal pub we use on visits to The City on a Sunday was closed, so no expectations as such.
What struck us most was the friendliness of the barman, nothing was too much trouble and he went out of his way to be helpful.
One star knocked off for not doing food at lunchtime- but again the barman said he would ask what the chef who was just finishing could prepare for us.

Visited Saturday 31st 2021. Finally made it to this beautiful city pub with a fantastic interior. Was really pleased on walking in to see five Cask Ales available. Found a table. Went to the bar and ordered a pint of Hophead ale along with 4 other drinks for my party. So disappointed and rather angry to find that only one ale was available, which funnily enough was London Pride. Fancy that! The ale was fine and well kept but felt totally misled by the other pump clips being on show. This is bad pub practice. If ales aren't available then the clips should be turned around or removed. Had that been the case we would not have sat down and simply gone to the Spoons next door where 3 ales were available. Come on Fullers! Surely you could have managed 2 at the very least.
L. E.
Absolutely fab visit. The rooms are lovely and clean with lovely comfortable beds but book back rooms at moment to avoid road sweepers construction on front side. I was lucky I had a back room, others in our party didn't. I no complaint about my room apart as a female couldnt use hairdryer with a mirror and only one normal tea bag!!!!
Breakfast lovely
I recommend this place to anyone and I know some of my colleagues are already considering rebooking
Fantastic
K. M.
First time visiting..amazing place ..friendly staff and excellent breakfast! We've booked for next month for a night as I loved the place so much and need to experience it again .
R. K.
Cosy atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, burger was one of the best I ever had, cold nice pint, not too crowded. Definitely will back 🍻
S. 2.
Grand venue, very well maintained, had lovely food for lunch after reserving a table that overlooked the central room. A great experience.
C. H.
Great looking building especially inside. Wonderful dome ceiling! Great selection of beers cant fault it.
S. H.
Lovely big pub with a lovely big bar and wide selection of drinks. Not too busy when we visited which was a bonus
A. L.
Tall ceilings, nice lighting, Grand! Good selection of drinks, friendly vibes. A very nice pub
J. G.
Great place for a nice drink. Converted bank which still keeps it's feel of importance lovely interior ams they have elements of the bank still in place such as a large safe behind the bar. Service was slightly left to be desired but in fairness it was a pretty hot and stuffy day.
T. w.
Was a nice pie however a bit small, gravy was good as we the chips. Good service.
M. W.
Excellent use for an old bank. Nice air-conditioned rooms, pleasant bar and excellent restaurant. I don't think I've been into a bank for 10 years (who needs them anyway?). An exciting transformation into something useful, at last.
S. B.
Nice pub, not too busy can get table. Good selection of drinks
D. L.
Good service great beer sandwiches best value and fish and chips not quite right
b. p.
Staff very knowledgeable about my enquiries into the rums they stock. Lovely setting.
R. S.
Very clean friendly place. Very good vegan range on the menu with customer toilets and an upstairs for food.
B. T.
I like this place. It's an old bank that retains many of its original features. Good range of beers.
S. L.
Great hotel. Lovely room and breakfast too
J. P.
Good atmosphere and good beer. Service was good also. Can't complain.

My wife treated us to a weekend away in London. The Counting House was a great place to stay. The City is nice and quiet in the evening and easy to get to all London has to offer. We did lots of touristy things, the British Museum, a show up West, cinema at the Barbican, Sky garden round the corner at the Walky Talky building. City pubs are great and this is a particularly lovely one. The interior is beautiful. The Euros were on when we stayed and the bar atmosphere was great. We had a clean and extremely comfortable room. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful with lots of choice. We could have had fruit and yoghurt and all that but instead we went for the full English which was very tasty with choice of eggs, toast, beans, tomato, mushroom, sausage, bacon, hash browns and black pudding. Simply excellent. The staff were very friendly and good at their jobs. A very good choice.
S. B.
Lovely lunch and good price ales. Staff are wonderful too
S. N.
Amazing location. Fab food, good choice of drinks.
T. B.
Didn't stay in hotel, just went for drinks. Lovely, friendly staff. Beautiful old building, originally a bank where I used to work.
K. L.
Very nice decor inside and good service. Food was priced reasonablly and the service was attentive.
m.
Staff was great plus the drink prices were very reasonable.
D. J.
Very nice bar I think one of my favourite’s
D. J.
Lively pub. Good range of beers. Surprisingly noisy at 5pm!
R. C.
Good beer at a reasonable price and very nice pies.
C.
Good coffee and staff are wonderful. Great beer selection too.
E. L.
Had a lovely meal on a trip to to london, wish I had known about this place sooner looks a lovely place to book a stay .
S. M.
Love the old feel to this place and is so noisy but a great place to have a drink
J. G.
Great place to eat pies! The bar is beautiful, customer service is good but pies are a little expensive.
C. M.
Good grub and decent drinks. Average London prices.
M. R.
Fantastic historical pub in bank area of London.
M. B.
Great pub for drinks or eating. Dining area upstairs. Good varied menu and decent portion size. Fantastic London pub atmosphere. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Items of historic interest showing the former use of this building.
S. S.
Great institution in the City of London... minutes walk of Bank Station.
P. B.
Amazing, interior, staff, grat variety of beers.
E. N.
This bar is incredible and absolutely beautiful. But I have to take two stars off for the TERRIBLE music selection being played at the bar. Quick note: no matter the time of night, heavy metal is NOT what should be played at a beautiful pub like this. The whole place was full of people over 40 and the music totally ruined the entire vibe. Management, please change your music so it fits the atmosphere of this wonderful place better!
H. C.
Friendly staff, great beer, beautiful building.
S. P.
Fantastic pies and a great private Room!
T. G.
Beautiful place but the prices are a bit eye watering though
A. J.
A Beautiful Hotel we give this 5 stars. Rooms are large and the bar decor is amazing staff friendly and helpful. We are definitely going again.
N. S.
Solid highend restaurant option in the Bank area. Service was friendly and efficient. The pub used to be a bank and retains a lot of the original details. Restaurant seating is on a high mezzanine, which is kind of cool looking out toward the front of the pub. Menu was more varied than expected with some suitable vegetarian options (not sure about vegan though). Recommended.
M. A.
Amazing pub! When you walk inside your first impression is WOW! Massive beer selection and good food options. The staff was very friendly and compassionate. Also well done to the management team. Everything’s look very organised. Will be back for sure.
Highly recommended!

Staying in London for Christmas Day, we wanted somewhere traditional for lunch with our family & booked into somewhere with what we thought would be a busy, but quaint pub feel. On our arrival we were surprised to be shown to our own private dining room which was just lovely and really festive. The food was superb as was the service and I would thoroughly recommend this venue. The bar area is beautiful & the staff were very accommodating bearing in mind they were working on Christmas Day. Will definitely visit again on my next London visit.
G. C.
What a pub! This is one of the most amazingly decorated/classic pubs I have ever been too.
They have a great selection of drinks, and when we went on a Saturday night getting a seat was easy. The most amazing thing about The Counting House is the decor inside, if you want a pub bursting with character then come here.
K. E.
Nice helpful staff. Good table service.
Lots of room at the moment.
Clean toilets.
M. R.
Lovely place but I wouldn't recommend nachos to people who know the real nachos supreme.
K. L.
Stayed in the Counting House for 4 nights and had a lovely time. The room was small with simple but lovely design. In the room was a sofa, air conditioning, a coffee machine, tea, mini fridge and a safe.
The bed was incredibly comfortable! When arriving in the evening I looked forward to sliding under the warm duvet and the pillows were perfect. Bathroom was clean and the shower was really good.
The hotel itself has a cozy old fashioned atmosphere, staff was friendly and the food and drinks was good.
This will be my first choice when searching for hotels in London again!
A. P.
Quite nice place.. the vegetarian pie is very good !
Update : visited again, lovely as always.
A. J.
I went to the 'Pub Wednesday' Hungarian meet up last week.
The pub is surprisingly pretty. Worth a visit just to check out the interior.
The staff is great and friendly. Very good service I must say.
I had Guinness and a burger which was nice.
I would like to bring friends with me next time to show this hidden gem in the city.
K. S.
Not your typical Fuller's pub, this place reeks history andncharacter. Worth the visit if you're nearby. Quiet at weekends. They also have accomodation which looks really nice. Usual selection of decent beers, ciders and spirits. Very friendly staff on both occasions I've visited. Food is up to Fuller's standard. The black pudding scotch egg is lovely.
K. K.
Incredible pub with huge seating options.
Interior is really nice with huge range of drinking and eating options.
pies are there speciality it's really nice and tasty... Must try.
In short nice interior lot of beers and food options must visit
J. C.
I have had 2 visits here, the first was amazing but the second has left me wondering whether or not to return. Second visit aside where the kitchen completely messed up a large order, the staff are really friendly and give great service. Food is great quality and there are plenty of options. The pies are certainly worth a try and there are a good selection of nice beers. Deserts are good size and make you question whether you should have tried...
Booked online same day for 6pm table and had no problems.
G. P.
Lovely place to stay. Will definitely book again when we come to London again.
F. H.
Most beautiful pub in the city, in my opinion. Lacks some music and seating areas. But go there, it's worth it. It still has the opulence of the previous activity: a bank.
They recently opened some bedrooms in the building, so it is a good location if you are coming to London for business and appreciate a nice beer before bed.
T. M.
Stunning pub and nice staff
J. K.
I've always loved this pub since I started coming to London. The decor, staff, and fullers beer is excellent. I have no idea why I have not eaten here yet, but it needs to happen. I always enjoy my time here however short of long. One of the most beautiful pubs I've been to anywhere in the world. The only downside is that there is no outdoor space to hang out at all :(
E. s.
Organised a very last minute Christmas lunch here and the staff were unbelievably helpful. They gave us a private room with us requesting it, table service for drinks and everything was laid up wonderfully including place cards with people's names and what they had ordered (massively helpful when people always manage to forget!). The only thing was that the room was a touch cool and the food might not have been Michelin standard but honestly, I can't recommend this place enough if only for the fab staff!
A. S.
Awesome pub with masses of character. Original bank features are amazing. Very loud and crowded inside, but that's normal for any pub on a Friday afternoon. Staff could have been more pleasant.
C. A.
A really quirky boutique hotel with great character. Only open a year the facilities are still new. Good sized bedroom, Crown room, modern bathroom with shower. Breakfast is in a lovely charismatic room. The best vegetarian sausage I've had. Quality linen and towels to cover your body nicely. A few teething issues to iron out but mgmt was very responsive so I'm confident they will be resolved. We would stay again.
A. T.
Great pub old-fashioned pub in the heart of the city. Really like the interior design and atmosphere. Great for after work drinks. They also serve food but haven't tried it yet.
D. D.
This place is basically just a regular pub but it's housed in a charming building built in the 1890's as a bank. This is the view from the upstairs dining area. While the old building is beautiful, the acoustics make for a very noisy environment.
J. Y.
A well hidden gem in the Bank station area. I don't even know there's a pub behind some alley. This place is huge and the decorations are amazing. Celebrate my friend's 50th birthday on 2nd floor. The foods are awesome too
K. J.
A wide variety of both beers and wine with good polite service and clean well kept facilities with a nice small area outside at the rear of the venue. No loud music so a place where you can socialise and hold an uninterrupted conversation. Suitable for formal or informal meetings
D. J.
Fine old style city pub. High ceilings large bar area. Decent range of cask beers. Food menu was not extensive but perfectly satisfactory. No complaints; I visited mid afternoon; evenings I expect can get a little crowded.
G. R.
Excellent service and good beer 🍺
R. D.
Nice pub with a bit of character and some areas to meet as groups. Beer is moderately priced for London and food is good. Its also enough of a walk from the centre to ensure its not full of nobs. All in all a nice place!
R. A.
Really nice food though slightly more expensive than usual
A. G.
This pub is an old banking hall and much of the structure has been retained, including the stunning glass dome over the circular bar.
The circular bar helps them to deliver a great service without the need for people to pack five deep as you see in other City pubs.
The staff are quick, courteous and efficient. The pub has as number of rooms you can book for meetings and functions and a great menu. Good quality and well priced food finish the list of many attributes of this wonderful City of London pub.
M. C.
Nice place for a pint but pricey
J. L.
Lovely historical place. Loads of character for a City Of London pub. It used to be a bank I think with safes above the bar(great selection of whiskies) . The art work on the wall is a good tasteful touch. I came here just before lunch and the pub was pretty quiet. There was loads of staff and they seemed to be enjoying working there. Cornhill isn't a really hard place to find. If you enjoy "Dickensian London" this would fit right in. Well done.
G. J.
Decent very large pub, sited in an old banking or Discount House hall. Good selection of wines and ales. Female friendly. Affable, motivated staff and good food, large portions. Not that cheap though. Handy for City folk and close to Bank station. Lovely repro pictures and cartoons throughout.
M. G.
Pretty crowded and noisy but an attractive setting in an old bank
N. T.
The rooms of this hotel was quite nice. In terms of the rooms and the food, I would stay there again. The lady at the front desk wasn’t the most professional I have ever come across. The Broken English and the very direct way of communicating was a little off putting. Also when the elevator gets cleaned, they don’t put a sign up so you could sit there for 30min wondering where the hell it is
P. G.
Good old traditional City Pub converted from a worthy city establishment from days gone by. All the normal alcoholic beverages you would expect to find in a pub, good range of beer, lager, cider, spirits and wines. They good a good pie in the Counting House served seated at a table on a plate with knives and forks. Proper food. Large function rooms available. Toilets clean.
J. M.
In the heart of the 'Square Mile', an excellent Fuller's pub in a converted bank with many original features. Real ale and food are top rate. Also has bedrooms for B/B.
A. H.
We booked in to the Counting House with a group of friends (4 rooms total), and made our reservation the week the rooms opened. Going on not much more than photos and one review, we thought the location, price, and room stylings were nearly too good to be true - but booked anyway. Months later we arrived to exactly what we had hoped for and it was amazing. The rooms are so comfortable and stylish, with a location and price that cannot be beat. Specific touches in the room really pushed it over the top such as: free beer and cider everyday in our fridge, amazing bath sheets, bath robes, a powerful blow dryer, the Bluetooth speaker, and free full menu breakfast. Our whole group had a wonderful experience and would certainly recommend your establishment to anyone we encounter.
The only minor drawbacks were: a weak air conditioner, and occasionally out of order lift. Nothing too major.
Wonderful hotel!
T. C.
Had Christmas lunch here with some colleagues. They'd run out of some options on the menu. I had a steak and onion pie which was fine but the accompanying mash and veg were rather meagre portions. For this kind of basic pub grub the prices are a bit steep. The service was not that great and we had to ask for someone to take our food orders. The only time they really showed us any attention was when our "allotted time" was up and the next sitting was coming in. Could do better
W. c.
What an amazing pub. Beautiful, clean, big, great service, great selection. If you are looking for a nice pub for drinks, food, experience, service.... this is the place. We were on a bit of a pub crawl otherwise we would have happily stayed here all night!
J. W.
Fuller's owned pub in stunning and well-preserved former banking hall. Offers usual range of Fuller's beers and food menu focussing on pies and small sharing plates.
It does get extremely busy after work although thanks to the large number of interestingly designed rooms there's usually somewhere to perch with a pint of always well-kept beer. Decent wine and spirit offering also. You can also pre-book a table which can be very useful.
Food is generally of a high standard although could be improved in terms of consistency, especially vegetables for some reason.
Every time I've been the staff have been polite and friendly if a little overworked and harassed at peak times.
I should add this doesn't cover my latest visit during the late December rush which was a disaster from start to finish and would warrant only 1 star. Honestly I'd say avoid this pub during the fortnight before Christmas!
I. H.
Great boozer. Proper old school pub with a good selection of beers and drinks, and a decor to boot. Lots of original fixtures and fittings which make this pub seem very special.
H. f. t. C.
Lovely pub in an old bank with much of the old banking hall still in situ. A great place to visit to see original victorian architecture and craftsmanship close up in a relaxed environments.
Part of the Fullers chain so have a great selection of beers and the food is good too.
H. M.
This is a lovely old pub with a beautiful interior, good beer and food. The service needs work. The Tuesday night bar staff were disengaged, unhappy and in need customer service training and better leadership.
J. B.
Perfect, pretty and nice. We are happy to be here!
T. S.
This has to be one of the City's most aesthetically pleasing uses of an old banking hall. We visited on a Tuesday lunch time and it wasn't very busy. Staff where very attentive, the selection of beers is good and the food (pies) looked great, sadly I didn't sample. Drinks are City prices, which obviously are expensive.
F. S.
One of the best accomodation I've experienced so far, for sure. Location was obviously perfect, the room extremely elegant, clean and fully equiped for any of my needs, bed was a dream. I was visiting London for work and had the time to chill in their confortable suite. The staff was very available, attentive and literally gave me a special treat, I felt cuddled at any time of the day. I do recommend to take advantage of the pub downstairs, Fuller's is a guarantee. Totally worth every pence, I won't doubt to repeat my choice.
M. B.
Service was very slow and some drinks were unavailable
P. N.
Beautiful pub, great space. It was a bank before and the decor reflect the grandeur of the building. Not too busy on a Thursday afternoon, good selection of beers.
J. R. R.
Fish and chips very tasty and table service very helpful and polite but had to dock a star as the inside of the building had a noticeable bad smell. Interesting decor inside and view of below if you sit upstairs.
S. C.
Great place for a drink after work in a v busy area! Easy to get served and had good options for drinks. Lovely setting too
M. S.
A pub made from an old banking hall, so full of character, both authentic and recreated. Combines standing room downstairs and seating and a small eating area upstairs. Busy but not overcrowded on a winter's evening. Crowd mostly smart but not stuffy.
F. C. M.
One of my favourit pubs around Fenchurch street. Beautifull old bank scenery, very good ales. Have a pint of ESB, you wont be dissapointed. Pies are fantastic too. Friend had a fish and chips and said it was very nice also
I. W.
Plenty of staff on hand to serve. Good selection of drinks, it is a Fuller's pub. Didn't try the food. Slightly dark in lighting but not a big issue.
M. Ć.
Pie was extremely tasteful and was served with a choice of either french fries or mashed potatoes. I went for three bird pies with mash and was not disappointed. Solid chunks of meat were flavourful and it was easy to discern between different meats. Gravy was thick and only complemented the dish. As a sweet tooth I couldn't resist trying apple and blackberry crumble and trust me, it's great, not too sweet and just right sour.
K. P.
Busy Pub but with a twist of old and new atmosphere. They have a variety of bar snacks including a very welcome mini pies! Good selection of beers too!
J. R.
The best pub food I have ever had and the friendliest staff. We had lamb and minced meat pies, and they had vegetables. We loved it so much we are planning our wedding there.
K. M.
Gorgeous hotel, lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was fantastic!
K. M.
Great place in the core of the banking and insurance sector.

The Counting House Pub has a lovely atmosphere and is a beautiful old building. It accommodates everyone from a single person on there own wishing to have a coffee, pint of Stout, Cheese and Cranberry Sandwich, lunch or dinner, to a Company holding a Company meeting or Conference. They have function Rooms for public and Companies to hire.
The Counting House Pub also accommodates for Disabled people with Street level entrance, lift to the upper floors & a Disabled Persons Toilet of which is very clean, locked at all times and if you do not have your disabled toilet key with you, the staff will open the toilet door up for you.(Toilet door is self closing after use, so you don't need the key to lock it back up.)
If you are anywhere near the Counting House Pub please do pop in for a drink or something to eat, you won't be disappointed and don't forget to ask to a member of staff to show you the buildings original old glass dome part of the building. Worth a visit.
R. A.
Being a fullers pub, it serves just the standard drinks and reasonable prices. What makes this place different is the stunning dome ceiling and lovely central bar.
Worth a visit if you're in the area, and to be honest about one of only a few places round bank you can get a decent-ish pint of ale.
D. C.
A huge Fullers pub in a former banking hall. Great interior. A variety of drinking areas on different levels. Rooms and tables are often reserved for parties which means you may end up standing, particularly on a Friday. Very busy after offices close in the area. Beer kept well, as you'd expect from a Fullers pub. Food served too, but not tried.
A. L.
So... This is not the cheapest but given the location it's not bad but we suspect we were overcharged a couple of pints! Have to say it's such a great venue with plenty of levels and tables to get away from the suits! The food we ordered were tasty and really saved us from having a hangover! The only other reason why it doesn't get five stars is there was no beer menu & if you have table service you have to rely on memory!
M. H.
Fabulous room ('Halfpenny Room') in charming building. Well equipped with comfortable bed, aircon, complimentary bar (with beer, cider, water and milk), a Nespress coffee machine and a cool Marshall Bluetooth speaker. Conveniently situated near Bank and Monument tube stations. Great choice for breakfast. And the Counting House pub is next door serving a good range of drinks and meals. Overall, a bit pricey, but it is the City.
C. S.
Great pub for pies and pub vibe. The seating up top is good for views over the pub and there is an area at the back if it is too loud which can be closed off. The beer selection, although not bad, was limited
b. c.
Didn't eat, although I will return for one of their pies which looked outstanding! Enjoyed an ale or two in the brilliant surroundings and atmosphere. Definitely a pub to visit if you are in the area!
S. S. (.
Absolutely brilliant place. Apparently this was an old bank and it is very clear from how majestic this old building looks. Great service, good food. A super place to share a drink with friends.
M. N.
Big for a pub in central London, great location next to Bank station.
We had to wait for our lunch, but overall great service. Rooms upstairs for leaving dos and small gatherings.
D. M.
Very good Fullers beer. Sadly let down by the meal.
Ordered 'three bird' pie and chips, hardly any meat inside, less than the size of a brussel sprout. Rather disappointing for £15.
U. P.
Nice place, but very busy.
G. A. S.
Great place to watch a game and drink a pint from their great selection. The building is packed full of history and it's a really nice place to visit with friends. It's a bit on the expensive side but it's worth it and the staff is friendly. Saturdays are not that full so I recommend going then if you want less buzz.
D. G.
It's a city of London pub, they're all pretty similar - wood panelling and very busy on almost every night of the week (except Saturday of course...). There's a private function upstairs called the Griffin Room, which is available for hire. Service is general good. Food is ok, nothing special though. Overall, an ok place for a post work beer, if you're a city worker.
N. K.
A hidden gem - at least by London standards, where being able to walk into a pub and get a seat on a Thursday evening is quite remarkable. A nice selection of ales on tap, and a fascinating interior decor with large, high-backed seats, chandeliers and a balcony.
C.
This is a very traditional pub with tens of beer brands. The atmosphere is very intense. Food was ok, the dining rooms are not aerated enough and the atmosphere can get difficult.
D. B.
Great atmosphere and beautiful decor. Food was great. Can get busy and noisy at lunchtime and early evening with the city crows. But has a huge range of beers to choose from to compensate.
R. A.
My favorite pub for many years. Great staff and stunning beauty of the pub makes it great. Good array of drinks. The new reburbishments adds a real good feel to the pub. Go and enjoy.
B. M.
Wonderful pub but the quality of food has deteriorated since the last time we were there, if they even had it available. Still, charming service saves the evening...
F. F.
A great place to get a drink with a good friend after work, with a feeling of history to it. The bar is an awesome setting and I'm told the rooms upstairs are very nice too!
S. N.
Make a reservation! Its busy most evenings. The service is slow though they don't have enough staff. Like anywhere if you show up too late or when a match is on, they run out of food. The bar has a great selection of drink though
K. Q.
Bar and food prices were not bad for central London. Only problem was at peak times there can a long wait to be served. There is a good selection of speciality beers and whisky.
R. C.
The Counting House has been a favourite pub of mine for quite some time. It has a nice warm rustic atmosphere, drinks are great, services is always excellent. Keep in mind that it's a bit pricey though.
S. G.
Good prices and big venue
D. T.
A bustling pub in the heart of The City. The interior is gorgeous as it is situated within an old counting house. The bar is on a central island and the staff are efficient and friendly so you won't be waiting long to order food or drinks no matter how busy it gets.
S. K.
Ale and Guinness is very good, love the look of the pub and is very welcoming. Only thing I don't like is that i feel £15 for pie and chips is a little steep.
N. W.
Currently selling great Hophead.
G. M.
Small hotel with a really good pub at the entrance. Bed is comfortable and the deco is tasteful and modern. Breakfast is also good except the coffee was weak.
P. C.
Bar staff don't know how to pull a pint of Guinness at all. Had pie and chips shortly after lunch, which was mediocre.
Interesting and historic venue.
R. W.
Used to be a bank and it's called 'The Counting House', I see what they've done there. Good large Fullers pub that ticks most of the boxes. Central bar with good selection of Fullers' favourites. Mezzanine for quieter conversations and views over the other customers. Does what it needs to do and does it with a bit of style.
P. J. N.
Former bank building in the city with great atmosphere and friendly staff. Can recommend.
M. V. d. B.
Standard "Fullers" pub with an old-world feel. Vaulted ceilings are beautiful, service can be challenging when busy due to the bar layout and narrow corridors.
p. g.
What a grand pub with fabulous decor... a must if your in the area... one of the finest pubs I've ever been in.
A. M.
I went for a group Xmas lunch with my team. I had the vegetarian root vegetable pie with green vegetables, chips and vegetarian gravy with a diet coke which altogether came to about £18. The food was lovely and filling but the diet coke was £5.20 which I thought was expensive. The service was good.
U. G.
Usually very crowded during the peak hours. Highly recommend to make a reservation if you want to get a nice place (or even one). Good beer selection, mostly in bottles or can .
J. R.
Just your average Fullers pub. Absolutely rammed most evenings after work, so book a table if you do want to sit down and eat. Otherwise plenty of standing space, it's huge.
Looked like there were a couple of function rooms too, which would probably be ok, but your just getting stodgy/fried pub food and some average drinks.
g. r.
Expensive average food and drinks in a beautiful place, not looking forward to eating here again.
D. H.
Good place to stop in for a cold beer. Lots of selections, friendly staff. The evening we visited the food wasn't as good as it could have been.
G. R.
Popular pub in the heart of the City of London which servers a range of good beer and food.
It does get very busy Monday to Friday lunch time and early evening servicing financial workers.
The Counting House is an old counting house, a place local businesses could take money and four a fee have it counted so that it could be banked. It is a fine historic building with a large balcony from where originally counting was overseen.
N. T.
Nice atmosphere. Old school chic and gentlemen's club feel. Very expensive drinks for the area, even beers starting at £5-6
H. T.
Nice pub in the centre of London. Popped in for lunch on a Tuesday, slightly surprised at how busy it was even though the service was great. Tried one of their special house pies which was very tasty. It's a little bit expensive but It's absolutely worth it.
E. B.
Although run by pub chain Fuller's the counting house has amazing original interiors which makes it stand out from other central London pubs. It's also a spacious pub which makes it a good meeting place for larger groups, smaller tables are available if you come here with a friend. The counting house mostly serves ales on cask keeping with the tradition of an English pub.
C. K.
Love this place. Incredible building and a central bar so you always get served quickly. Good selection of beer and food.
A. W.
Used as part of a day trip for morning coffee and lunch. Meal good value but could have been hotter with more vegetables. Good selection of desserts
P. H.
My favourite pub. Gorgeous interior, good food great Fullers beer. Back room and outside drinking worth doing. Takes you away from the hussle of the city. Time stops here.
T. A.
"Bar service took way too long. Need more staff." Zoe Sillyface. Otherwise a very nice venue, must get the name of their interior designer. 20/10 would bang again.
A. N.
Very Impressive double height vaulted main lounge bar area. I was invited to the 2nd function room which is really 2 rooms join so has great layout for separate private lounge and formal function area.
J. D. (.
Beautiful interior and a wide range of drinks, food could be better but still a nice place to relax and socialise. Also has a function room to die for and several small nooks and crannies for a more intimate date.
M. v. B.
Local for me, Fullers Pub with good staff ready to serve, Outside area is common for locals. Food quality has gone down slightly as it is not freshly made anymore.
P. L.
spent a few hours here catching up with colleagues - very pleasant environment and friendly hospitality.
A. R.
Nice decor okay food
J. T.
A dashing pub with loads of beer and ale choices
I.
Excellent location in the heart of the city, lovely food and great service!
A. S.
I attended a Christmas dinner here but was disappointed by the food. The vegetables were served later than the main courses and seemed to be under done. Drinks ar. expensive but this place is in the middle of the City of London.
E. M.
It only looks good in pictures. Could be so much better for a fancy pub. Short sleeve polos are not appropriate for this venue.
I. A.
Fantastic pub, lovely food
d. c.
Counting house has for me the best pies in the area. If you're going for food - try going before 9 as after that the steak and ale pies are almost always finished. The chicken and chorizo pie is the next best thing though and is quite good too.
We always leave with a full belly and a smiley face.
D. N.
Very nice pub. Excellent customer service when red wine spilled from Christmas reveller on 1st floor and the management offered to pay dry cleaning without any issue.
D. T.
Absolutely the most beautiful pub I have been in. Staff knowledgeable on the beers and friendly. Unfortunately the glasses were in poor condition
T. B.
Exellent room, bathroom also meets nordic standarts.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Exellent breakfast, wich is actually served, not just left to dry up on the table.
Strongly recommended!!
G. S.
Nice enough. Good service and beer was good
A. P.
I recently visited here with a friend for dinner. The food was very tasty and well presented, the service friendly and prompt, in very nice surroundings. I'm looking forward to a return visit sometime the future...
N. S.
A solid pub in the city. Spacious. High ceilings. Good beer selection. Good for when there’s a few of you in your group.
L. D.
Nice location and historic setting. Rather cramped but that is due to the age of the place more than anything. Bit noisy. Reasonable food but it was an Xmas set menu so maybe need to go again when it isn't!
D. M.
Blank from the outside, marvellous from the inside. Huge pub with breathtaking interior. Food good as well (Fuller's pies), a bit pricey but the quality is worth it.
S.
Great pub, really nice layout and interesting beers. Will definately go back again.
D. C.
It was another Thursday evening, a Toastmasters event; just a whistle stop tour by my good self. After entering, my gaze took on an elliptical path; The high ceiling, the highly decorative lighting and the central shrine, the bar area. Punters were plentiful; the air filled with the sociable discussions of life, postured with the jostle of drinking glasses. This Counting House has a heart with a union jack etched into it. Instead of a adopting a: bulldog, defiant, discriminatory stance, it embraces. With that, let's raise one of it's crispy, oozy, savoury, pastry style offerings and solemnly swear "To the punter, to the Counting House, to life. We salute you!"
G. M.
Came here for a free comedy event during the fringe. Apparently it used to be a rock venue, now it is used more for comedy. In the back room there is a small stage and this is where they were showing the comedy. Drinks aren't too badly priced and the location is quite close to the centre and just off the Royal Mile.
B. P.
This is a nice city pub appropriately populated by bankers. It's conveniently located, easy to find and a good meeting place. It reminds me of quite a few pubs down on Fleet St.
J. M.
It is a very unexpected gem in the middle of the City!
Fantastic chicken wings and mini pies!
Great architecture and nice staff!
Strongly recommended!
S. B.
What is not to love about this pub, food 10 out of 10 the service is always with a smile but be warned it can get busy ove lunch time so recommend booking a table.
E. L.
Lovely staff, great service and amazing rooms. 3 great excuses to visit
S. O.
Nice pub with good amount of seating. The selection of beer was not very good. But still a nice put in great a character building.
Y. O.
Old Skool meets New Skool. It looks like a proper old pub but the music and vibe is quite young. Staff are great and there is a good selection of brews.
J. S.
Good and fast service. Was quite busy on a Thursday night, but they had enough bar staff so we got served quickly.
T. H.
Nice room, good breakfast menu and great service. We loved our stay here and will come back again.
F. E.
It's probably the best pub I've ever visited. This place makes a really good impression - I would recommend that you visit this If you are in London!
D. N.
Grand converted banking hall, now a pub. Fullers Beers. Packed full of city-types on a Friday evening. Probably quieter other times, but watch out for weekend closing in City pubs.
K. K.
Good wine fab pies
We went here on a Thursday and it was busy but enough staff to serve you quickly.
The food was really good definitely try the pies.
L. W.
The pub is set in an incredible building, with a central bar. There is a good selection of beers and tasty pies. Busy at lunch time
N. A.
Very good meal and tables surprisingly easy to book for an early Thursday evening. Excellent decor and good range of beers
A. I. Z.
Great pub but not so great customer service. The waiter rolled her eyes on me because I took 30s more than my husband to order!
L. V.
Love this pub. Big, lots of nooks and crannies, and loads of bar staff. The food is average, but that’s a chain for you
N. P.
Be aware every time you pay by default they add tip
H. W.
Pretty darn good. Darkstar in fine fettle. Not too busy. Loos clean. Back entrance charming. Interior a gobsmaker.
L. W.
The pub is set in an incredible building, with a central bar. There is a good selection of beers and tasty pies. Busy at lunch time
K. Q.
Bar and food prices were not bad for central London. Only problem was at peak times there can a long wait to be served. There is a good selection of speciality beers and whisky.
m. j.
Nice,relaxing
a. w.
Excellent pub which oozes character. Good range of beers. The pies are terrific too.
M. H.
Great pub and now they have Dark Star even better beer!
J. L.
Great place would give 5 just its rammed on a Friday so standing room only
D. L.
Great bar. Impressive surroundings. Can get a little too busy at times though.
j. k.
Nice building. Not enough staff on a Thursday night. First pint London pride was cloudy which was disappointed as it's fullers pun
A. W.
Beautiful venue, good quality drinks and food. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area
M. B.
Wonderful building but poorly stocked bar. I'd still recommend this place as one of the best pubs in the area
S. W.
A very good looking bar in the hotel. Spacious & friendly environment especially during holiday season.
M. F.
Spacious bar with good selection of beers and wines. Good pub food too. Popular with city folk.
S. C.
Excellent Historical drinking house (bar) popular with the business crowd! Good food and variety of beers on tap.
A. B.
Great interior design here with a high quality finish to fixtures and fittings giving a historical feel to the place, also good service received at the bar.
J. B.
Steak and ale pie was very good. Shame there wasn't more veg and chips to make it a bit more substantial. Service upstairs was excellent though.
D. G.
Decent, very good buffet for Corp event. A cut above the rest. Great drinks selection. Full of bankers!!!
C. v. B.
Great pub, good private dining rooms and top notch pie lunches
S. N.
Wide choice of beer, and popular. Crowded so people think it's OK to push you over to get where they want to. I,'m from the sticks so maybe its normal.
N. H.
Lavish woodwork and appointments in this very popular bar and eatery. Rather noisy but it seems quite okay, really gives life to an old stuffy former bank.
A. P.
Nice pub, spacious and good for talking over drinks. Run by a a brewery/chain like so many others though (in this case Fuller's), what a pity!
J. M.
I have gone here for drinks for over 20 years. Worth going just to see inside. Can get super busy
M. C.
Usually heavily packed by the suits. Says more than I can - good beer range, lots of seating, decent grub.
G. C. (.
The atmosphere is relaxed, the environment is beautifully arranged. They also have a nice variety to offer. I was very pleased with the service and had a truly enjoyable evening out.
D. B.
Pie in the city. It doesn't get much better. Great service, good beer, decent price, nice setting
b. c.
unfortunatly, I just had lunch, so I could not try their best pie. I must try for next visit.
by the way, the tea and english strawberry was good !
M. H.
Great old proper London pub. Friendly staff and really nice to go for a drink or have dinner.
D. M.
A nice Fuller's pub with an interesting ambient (it used to be an old bank); I'm a regular user of the event rooms and they have a good service.
M. W.
Great city pub in a grand old city banking hall. Fullers beers and a decent pub grub menu.
V. J.
Cool place! Tasty beers on tap. Very nice. Will return when next in the area.
W. B.
Very quick service in this busy city boy lunch hang out, pies are definitely the order of the day and the building itself really gives a great historical backdrop for a drink/eating.
S. V.
Great London pub, with some real character.
Throw in some great food and a good choice of beer this is a place you should visit.
N.
This pub has beer.
J. C.
I like this pub. I go there with friends and we talk for hours. The staff is friendly, but not so talkative. Keep in mind that in the evening this place can be kind of a crowded one.
And ..it is such a pity that The Counting House closes around 11p.m..
N. W.
Fantastic rooms really comfortable.
a. w.
Excellent pub which oozes character. Good range of beers. The pies are terrific too.
A. S.
Gorgeous old pub, plenty of atmosphere but extremely busy when I went on a Thursday night

S. H.
It's a pub in an old bank.
Amazing! Try the pie tasting platter.
M. D.
Excellent pub in the city. Great selection of beers. Good menu too.
p. l.
Charming pub with some good real ales on tap. Prices for draught imported beers very expensive (£5.50 for Estrella!)
A. T.
A great venue for lunch, with an excellent selection of food and beers. I highly recommend trying the pie taster board, where each pie is coupled with a beer.
J. À.

N. L.
Good pub food, mostly pies. Service was friendly enough. Maybe a few quid more than I'd like but otherwise good.

Nice place but expensive and crowded! £3.50 for a small glass of coke out of a £1 bottle!
P. B.
Fairly large Fuller's pub in the city. Busy, but because of the size, not too crowded.
D. R.
Lovely old building in the City. It's a Fuller's pub but had a couple of decent guest ales
D. M.
Good pub, nice atmosphere after work although getting a seat can be quite tricky on a Friday.

Lovely rooms, nice welcoming staff, nice pub so will definitely stay here again.
L. F.
Good food. Lovely building. Godd choice of drinks.
M. B.
Great pub full of history and booze. Nice atmosphere on a Friday evening
T. B.
Never enjoy this pub because it usually results in continually having to get out of somebody's way as the room around the island bar is limited. Service and miss too.
D. S.
Typical big ex-bank converted to pub. Huge room, high ceilings, loud. But good after work place
S. B.
Waitress service, great pub food, especially the pie. Beers are good too

M. B.
Good food, good beer, and lively atmosphere in the historic heart of the City of London!
O. M.
A big, beautiful London pub. Good for a quick pint after work or a pub lunch in your break.
O. B.
Another impressive fullers akin to the Old Bank of England, with a high celling etc - but it's even more City-like than that one with 99% of the patrons in suits.
V. H.
Just amazing. Very nice place, fast service and one of the best burgers I've had.
H. W.
Pretty darn good. Darkstar in fine fettle. Not too busy. Loos clean. Back entrance charming. Interior a gobsmaker.
