Reviews of The Dickens Inn
T. M.
We got married at the Dickens Inn in October 2021 and cannot recommend it highly enough as a wedding venue. From start to finish, the team were extremely friendly and helpful, making sure the day went off without a hitch. We wanted a relaxed pub wedding and got just that! Very good value considering the location by Tower Bridge too.
R. M.
This is another unique building worth a visit when in this part of London. Had a few pints here - typical pricing for beer. We did not have food but stopped in mostly to see the building and get that old historic feel. It had low ceiling and large wooden joist etc.
S. K. P.
I went to the pub. It was nice and friendly. Dog friendly too! The drinks were nice. They have food as well, which came out quickly and was hot. It's just off the docks, and it looks lovely on the outside and nice on the inside. They have a foosball table in the corner and a tv. You don't need to dress up. You can go in trackies and trainers.
T. R.
Went for a business networking event.
A lovely and quaint building in a fantastic setting. Very beautiful area... St. Katherine Docks, next to Tower of London.
The venue was very clean, beautiful and the catering and staff were exceptional.
Exceeded my expectations and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The food was great, although I have no idea as to the cost as it was a catered event.
All around highly recommended for business or pleasure visits.

Great place to go for food or drinks if you are on this side of London. Lovely views of St.Katherine's Dock. Tiny bit pricey for what it is - but I'd say it's probably fair based on the location. Well worth a visit and really friendly staff. Pet friendly on the first and second floor, but not in the restaurant on the third (fair enough).Ground floor - boozer, first floor - Pizzeria, third floor - restaurant.
D. H.
Came here for a work social. It's a bit pricey but very well maintained venue at a superb location.
E.
Great place, great area! Never been here before so was a bit worried how it's gonna be with booking the table etc (as we were a bigger group of people). Very smooth process, polite staff and only good vibes as soon as we entered. The place is huge, 3-floor pub with the seating inside and outside + the garden downstairs. They show all the main games - like Euro 2020 now. We had a really good time and will certainly come back again, thanks!
G. P.
Food on the top floor was good, then a pint and the rugby on the ground floor, busy but good atmosphere
A. R.
Went to the Grill tonight on the 3rd floor, lovely place to eat, we were out on the balcony, really beautiful view of St Katherines Dockyard. Lovely food, wonderfully polite staff, we were served by a very happy gentleman so polite. Only rushed off due to change in my sugar levels. Hope to come back soon.
D. L.
Came here for my 23rd Birthday meal. Really nice place down by the river in London Bridge, had a good experience, however the prices are just a little steep and this is probably down to the location. Food was great and very filling but I wouldn’t come here for a pint due to the prices. Didn’t also help I had a beer spilt on me but me and my mates had a very good evening.
M. D.
Unless you take the backstreets beyond the main tourist traps it is unlikely that you will come across this beautiful inn. Always decked in greenery, there are spectacular views across the basin. In good weather the is an outside seating area too.
n. m.
Very quaint pub with a lovely view. If you can afford it, you can stay in one of the very fancy yachts docked outside. After a few pints you can go for a scenic stroll along the Thames.
M. I.
Really nice views. Pretty good service generally. Prices are reasonable. Had problems with ordering drinks online but the manager explained what was going on. I personally feel like they could make certain things clearer like what time the garden shuts, last orders, what to do if the app fails. Just little tweaks which would increase the stars. I'd definitely go back!!
A. A.
Feeling very festive with lights, decorations & lots of laughter. Great staff service but limited snacks to purchase !
D. A.
Nice characterful pub with great views of St Katherines Dock. The staff are managing covid social distancing very well with great table service. I don't know why I haven't been here before- Highly recommended.
A. G.
Gorgeous pub in a beautiful setting. Martinis were good (and quite strong!) Food was decent too but quite pricey as you would expect for the area. Would go back but more so for the location and the martinis!
N. S.
Delicious pizza. Friendly staff. Great location. Good value for money.
M. C.
Beautiful pub with wow factor hanging basket balconies to sit out on. Mains menu was great but very very limited desserts.
A. C.
We got married at the Dickens Inn about a month ago, and it was absolutely incredible. Our wedding coordinator Agata was so friendly, and helpful, and Bogdan, the event coordinator on the day was also amazing! Everyone was saying how the venue looked amazing, the staff were so kind and attentive to guests, and everyone loved the food, both the canapes and the mains. The price was absolutely fantastic for the quality of service we got - from the complimentary menu tasting to the wine tasting, designing beautiful table stationery, honestly, we cannot have picked a better location for our wedding! Absolutely stunning location near Tower Bridge, and also the views over the marina were so beautiful, as well as the quirky and character filled nature of The Dickens Inn itself! Cannot recommend this place enough.
W. S.
Friendly staff, clean and kept tables at a socially distance space so you could comfortably enjoy your time. Large selection of wines, beers and other. Menu sticks to basics burgers, pizza, and some English traditional. Would like to have seen more English traditional items on the menu.
A. R.
Lovely pub, right in At Katherine Docks. Friendly staff, great selection of food & drink. Nice little bolt hole.
l. k.
Very nice looking pub with a great atmosphere! Drinks however were a tad pricey for what they were.
P. F.
Great pub a d restaurant. Very welcoming a d perfect spot in St Katherine's marina.
A. S.
Had a nice afternoon drink, pub was busy but had a great atmosphere. Worked in this pub putting in s massive Ice machine about 30 years ago. Hasn't changed much from all those years ago
M. S.
The Scotch Egg on the top floor Restaurants were lovely. Great view and excellent for a city break.
S. V.
This is one of my fav places in London! I love the pub which has got a very beautiful outdoor patio and a very characteristic indoor space. In the restaurant at the first floor you can have a meter pizza! and the second floor gastro pub is super cool! I have organized many Bday parties in this place!
A. -.
Impressive pub inside & out. Lovely views if you can sit by a window. We only had drinks here, which were nice & a fair price, so can't comment on food. There were a couple of large & loud families in & i got the feeling maybe the tables could've been wiped down a bit more regularly. Maybe if we went up another floor it would be a bit more formal for eating. Nice views over the dock though so we will return !
A. G.
Good vibe. Okay burger for the price - like the Dock burger is not worth the price. Don’t imagine any of these are. Fresh salad is “in the burger” - since when is three green leaves a “salad” lol.
They can do better.
R.
Really cool pretty old fashioned pub, in the height of summer when the flower baskets that over hang beneath the windows this pub looks absolutely amazing then into the evening when it's all lit up is really cosy, they serve good beer & good food too 👌 awesome setting within the docks feels like your million miles away out of the city. Well worthy of a trip
A. D.
I really like the bar and have visited several times. My only reasoning for 4/5 rather than 5/5 is the knowledge of the staff about what sports are live and the lack of sound for games. But, then this bar is probably not looking to be a 'sports bar' and instead just a good place for a drink and a meal, all of which is 5/5 for me. But on a Saturday I like to find a local bar for a pint and some live football, with commentary, which this bar only partly provides, and only for BT Sport if I understood correctly. But, apart from that, it really is a great place and the team behind the bar are very friendly, very helpful and very efficient. So, hard to fault apart from my individual needs.
D. W.
Lovely food, beautiful building and stay were daft and friendly. The burger was delicious!
A. S.
Great cosy atmosphere with plenty of space and tables to sit, drink, eat and talk with friends or work colleagues.
Such a lovely area between the beautiful St Katherine docks and the Old architecture of The Dickens Inn makes you feel abit of the history.
O. W.
Lovely atmosphere and staff very friendly food brilliant at St Katherine Dock
B. U.
It was quite an interesting path to get here, through the St. Katherine Docks and over footbridges to the multi-story building.
It does look like there were a couple of dining areas in the building, a pub, and a grill. We were just on the pub side on the ground floor. The area was quite large and we were in the dining area with tables and chairs. You wait to be taken to a table where they have table service. We had to wave people down to get their attention to order and to get the check.
The food was alright. It was fairly standard pub fare, pizza, burgers and fish and chips. I had the pie and mash and that was alright. The pizza was a bit soggy. I'd probably come for a drink and to admire the area or building but probably not for the food. The grill might have been at a higher standard.
R. H.
Nice pub - very picturesque from the outside, large covered outdoor seating area with heating and lights, decent music inside with plenty of tables
W. W.
Nice and spacious pub In a lovely 18thC building, good for large crowds. Great in the summer as the location is by the docks and sitting outside is very pleasant.
I went in a rainy winter evening and had a enjoyable drink and some dinner on the top floor.
But the most recent visit for some food at the ground floor bar was rather disappointing. Don't order the fish and chips...
E. I.
Everything was great. It's a very clean and relaxing place. The food is really delicious. I've been impressed by burger. Carla is very nice and helpful. She was very friendly and makes us feel very comfortable during our lunch. I would definitely come here again.
F. P.
Wonderful food, great service, polite staff and responsibly priced.
G. H.
I went to the Dickens Inn restaurant for my graduation dinner. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the waiters were very friendly and knowledgable. The location is also beautiful
A. S.
Great pub. Beautifully decorated exterior and good location in the Dock. Plenty of space inside and outside. Reasonable prices for London, with the added bonus of plenty of space to hire and a variety of food choices
M. R.
The location of the Dickens Inn is a hidden gem :) very pleasant. Booked a table for Dinner for Saturday at 'The Grill' well in advance. Lovely friendly bar staff downstairs as we arrived early and had a pre dinner drink there. Was really impressed with the 'The Grill' setting but shame the food was not up to that standard - Was told the sirloin steak had run out so ordered Rib-eye instead, medium was requested , but was burnt underneath :( after main courses - the dessert menu was NOT offered as we were told that only 2 desserts were available ! no Explanation was offered, not impressed and quickly said No to anything. Shame as our Server was a really attentive guy, but he looked embarrassed to explain the lack of desserts,..... shame about the head server not being very attentive or even a smile when we arrived.....
m.
Lovely place to have a drink in this unique looking pub with restaurants. It's housed in a pretty looking 18th century warehouse in the heart of St Katharine Docks with balconies that are beautifully lit up. Kind of like Christmas all year round. Food is not bad. The best part is the setting where it's a great place to sit and have a drink in a beautiful setting while enjoying a rare warm February.
Would've given another star if we were allowed to drink in one of the upstairs balconies, but those are for diners only.
L. B.
This was the most charming place to enjoy a delicious meal, tasty drinks, beautiful scenery and engage with the most lovely staff! Special shout out to Carla for the great recommendations! Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Go enjoy yourself at The Grill at The Dickens Inn!
D. B.
I have to say I was really looking forward to trying this place out, tucked away amongst a plethora of other foodie haunts, I was sat outside over looking London bridge and the boats, not bad, I even had some 🐦 friends to keep me company. Unfortunately the food was just about standard and the price did not match, the staff were friendly but a 12% compulsory service charge on the mediocre over priced steak was the cost I was forced to pay for the privilege. It lost a 🌟 because regardless of how great the location, venue and staff are if you can't produce the goods at the price your charging, then your unlikely to get return customers. Just as well I was only visiting so your regulars will be none the wiser. Thanks anyway I did enjoy the evening overall and the place had a great vibe. 👍🙃
T. H.
Lovely Dickensian themed pub in a restored historical building. Amazingly peaceful considering it is 5 minutes from tower bridge.
Prices are very decent, especially considering its location.
Has pub bar and meals, restaurant area and outdoor beer garden.
B. P.
Nice pub and close to the Tower hotel...
For nice food and stuff are friendly 😃
D. S.
We went there twice. Once for the fish and chips and the second time for the pizza. The pizza was ok. You can pick a type and add toppings, but they do not do a pepperoni pizza or a meat lovers pizza. You have to ask what is in the menu only and no changes. The fish and chips were outstanding. My husband stake was so so. Overpriced for what he got and it was not that great. My daughter's chicken skewers was good also.
J. T.
Lovely place with great location. Nice atmosphere, basic pub food, very friendly staff.
J. G. S.
Good place to take a beer and have some to eat in a really good place of London. The Christmas decoration is fantastic!!!!
They have some different beers and the food is quite good.
A place to visit in the City!
S. H.
Nice pub located at the far end of St Katherine’s Dock and marina. Nice little outside area overlooking the Marina. Price of drinks were reasonable for London. A short walk from Tower Hill Underground Station. Close to Tower Bridge and The Tower of London. nicely decorated fir Christmas.
T. N.
Visited here on Saturday 16th October, at 2pm for a surprise 30th birthday meal. The hospitality was fantastic from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing. We had the t-bone steak which was cooked to perfection and the birthday girl had the burger which she throughly enjoyed. The starters we had , we also enjoyed. It is advisable that you book as it gets very busy. Well done to Scott and the team for making our visit an enjoyable one and for singing happy birthday when you bought out the cake, which you kindly put on the decorations for me. Thank you again so much, we shall definitely visit here again.
K. E.
Good spacious pub in great location by Tower Bridge. Not a lot has changed since I first visited in the early 80's!
C. C.
Lovely pub, good atmosphere, and nice outside area. The fish and chips and fried seafood was ok.
C. S.
A quirky place.
OK for a drink on our way home.
Beautiful flowers on the front.
L. P.
I give 5 stars for the amazing staff, all really kind, great food and beautiful location. I will definitely going back.
m. z.
Staff was very friendly, well done chef for the great eggs with our breakfast 🍳
G. C.
Top floor of a lovely old building in St Katharine Dock overlooking the wharf. The food is good but it took some persistence to find staff who had knowledge of gluten free meals and were willing to help. There are not many options but what there is are very good. Would visit again
S. P.
Good for drinks. Reasonably price and a nice environment.
However the food is really bad and horribly overpriced. We paid £16 each for a burger that was genuinely worse than supermarket bought...
For drinks - recommended. For food - avoid
R. M.
Beautiful place to chill and take cute pictures. Had a nice cocktail and chilled in the sun.
D. S.
This place looks so fantastic, and it feels like it has a lot of history to it as well, but with history comes dust. So if you are really sensitive to dust I would strongly recommend avoiding this place or staying outside. Staff didn’t look to happy, which is a shame, because this place is not the cheapest and we wanted to get some good service along with the food that we pay for. We sat down at the table by the window with the beautiful view. As I mentioned dust before, that wasn’t the only thing that was dirty. We were given dirty menus as well. It’s a good thing that we already knew what we wanted. We got fish & chips and beef burger which both had average taste considering the price. I don’t think that we will be back. This place is probably better suited for drinks.
E. G.
Felt really festive great location. And my boys lived the oldskool football table👍
S.
Wonderful quirky old warehouse conversion overlooking St Katherine's Dock, excellent food and friendly staff. Limited menu to mainly grill but pizzas are amazing. Lovely environment to sit and enjoy.
F. B. (.
Beautiful old pub x absolutely loved it
E. N.
Based on the pub itself rather than the restaurants upstairs. I ordered a drink and food here. They were busy but I have to say the service was slightly rubbish and it was a bit chaotic.. the food order for my friend and I was also wrong and even though we informed the waiter they never came back and corrected it. I would come back here for a drink and a social as I like the venue itself and it has a good mix of patrons but I would only get food from the restaurant or pizzeria upstairs.
K.
The Dickens in is a great place to go out with friends to have an amazing selection of draft beers. I went there a few years ago with some business partners who took me there for dinner but since I don't remember anything about the food it probably means that it was not that good. Who knows maybe one day I'll be back and I'll try the food again.
J. P.
The place is just friendly, the staff are really nice, good selection of wine and beers. We did not try the food but you can tell is quality. The place seems to be very clean and the staff very attentive. Always willing to help.
M. S.
Beautiful pub inside and out close by to Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Extremely spacious with different food offerings on every level, so something for everyone. A nice pit-stop after work or on an evening stroll. Worth getting there early on a nice day or night to get a seat outside. Service at the bar a was a bit slow.
E. L.
The Dickens Inn is a quirky, interesting and beautiful pub at st Katherine Dock. There is loads of seating. We sat outside and ordered via the app to our table. Food was delicious. The area has atmosphere, I would highly recommend.
M. M.
Nice pub in an amazing location. Food was good and drinks were reasonably priced for London.
Can get very busy.
Y. S.
Excellent location and view but the food and service was below par.
The food portions of the mushroom starter we had was ridiculously small and the hyped 'Hickory Smoked Chicken' was dry and bland. Service time was way too long and with only two waiter/servers managing a weekend lunch, the pressure was evident. There was one lady server(seemed to be senior) who was pleasant, unfortunately she wasn't serving our table. Prices are fairly reasonable however I was expecting a better overall experience.
P. M.
What a lively venue for a drink before having a meal, packed from top to bottom but the service was great and did not have to wait to be served, weather was very good on the night and so we sat outside enjoying the great weekend atmosphere and will be going back in the near future.
M. B.
Huge bar over looking the water at St Katherine's Dock, inside and outdoor seating. Normal London prices for drinks. I think it does food but I didn't eat there.
0.
Stopped here for a couple of drinks after being out on the Boris bikes with my family, relaxed feel in the bar and got served quickly. Sat outside to cool down, I would like to visit again when I'm out with friends next time.
K. B.
Very cute, hidden gem of London! You can sit out on the terrace (though only until quarter to ten) or play foosball inside. The beers are not the cheapest, but they come in generously big glasses. The sweet cider is worth trying.
S. G.
Lovely place right by the docks - pretty flowers in the summer. Spacious outdoor area and great for a few evening drinks - has basic pub snacks /food too. Word is that Dickens was a frequent visitor here (as the name suggests) so it had a nice historical touch to it!
A. V.
Very nice place with super tasty burgers. Menu selection is quite good, mainly grilled dishes like burgers, stakes etc. Nice and pleasant service. Bit pricey but its worth of.
D. P.
A great pub, with very nice view on the docks and very impressive from the outside. The food though is nothing special and the prices are somewhat expensive.
M. P. R.
Beautiful place in the nice St. Catherine Docks area, right next to the Tower Bridge. 3 floors: pub, bar and restaurant. The 3rd floor restaurant is called The Grill, has a short but good menu. Had the chicken schnitzel which was very good and a nice italian Chardonnay. Very good place to check out.
D. C.
Stunning location and amazing food. Can only recommend!!!
P. B.
Great service, great food and in a lovely location in St Katherine's Dock
F.
Simply a beautiful place. Good food, good beer, enormous old building that is worth a visit just to see it from the inside. It's quaint and cosy.
C. S.
Really cosy place in the middle of London, especially when you come from Cardiff and used to smaller pubs. With the added bonus of cocktails and lovely staff
A. H.
Very picturesque pub in a lovely location, with friendly service.
1. N. V. T.
This may look (from the outside) a bit misshaped but it is a pub/eaterie that has atmosphere. Old creaky floorboards and like a step back in time. We went to the restaurant on the second floor and dabbled in the Fish and Chips and the fish cod was fresh and beautifully cooked in the most superb mouth watering beer batter. A couple of beers to wash it down and all was good. I would recommend this to any visitor although access for anyone with a disability may be a problem though in the summer the outdoor seating is safely on ground level. Beautiful building , great food.
M. D.
My favourite pub in London, relaxed atmosphere, not overly noisy, tables outside and good drink selection, they have Guinness extra cold, overlooking the unique St. Katherine's Dock.
T. C.
Well priced, food cooked fresh from order and came out quickly, friendly staff and in a great location, you have a choice of the pub, grill, or pizza over three floors access by walking.
T.
Eventho it was full we got quickly seated, on top the food is amazing and the service was great too, especially Bogdan was very friendly!
I really recommend to check out „The Dickens Inn“ to experience the 3 floors filled with awesome food!
n. w.
Historic pub in St. Catherine's Dock. I like to go back to this pub as it brings back great memories from my time working in London in the late 70s. In those days it was heaving at lunchtime with all the business people drinking pint after pint of ale and everyone was smoking. The floor was covered in sawdust - I kid you not. Nowadays I was one of 6 people in there on a Tuesday lunchtime. I had the fish and chips and it was very nice. Worth a visit if you fancy a change from all the usual brand named places.
R. S.
Oldest restaurant in town and right in the centre of the city yet very calm ambiance. It’s historic nature attracts most of the crowd. Food was good and authentic. Must try.
J.
Fantastic country pub that's somehow in London. Proper pints too! (Judging by other reviews it probably depends on when you go, my review is Sunday lunch time)
G. D.
Nice food amazing burgers and friendly staff
V. F.
The place is ok, is quite confortable, the service fast, nice view... But the food nothing spectacular! But its OK! I had the ultimate burger but apparently the fish&chips are the success of this place.
T. D.
A great pub by the river Thames, a good range of drinks and food
N.
One of the most iconic and classic pubs, that look like a three-level barn from the outside. Set in a beautiful location within St. Katherine's Docks
M. S.
Beautiful area! Excellent setting! Great place to share the company of friends. Drink East snacks, burgers and steak sandwiches are finger-licking!
L. L. T. B.
Huge pub, can be noisy at times, but atmospheric. It's surrounded by water, which makes it even more special, and the exterior is wonderful.
J. S.
Chef and table staffed helped to prepare a specific meal as my son have several allergies. Very helpful!
A. P.
An historical pub all made in wood, the place is really charming, specially the front all decorated with flowers. The pub is divided in 3 floor plus an outdoor area, the service at the bar is quick. A good place to stop and have a drink on your journey in london.
R. G.
Amazing Venue, lovely location. Great pub in the heart of St Catherine's Dock. The Sticky Toffee pudding is a must have.
S. S.
We used to come here as a family to drink hot chocolate on the balcony. Now I bring friends and my own family when I get the chance. Grill is good but I love the pizzas in the pizzeria. Would definitely recommend the goats cheese pizza. You also have the option of daytime pub food in the main pub area. It's such a beautiful pub, so if I have any guests coming from abroad I like to bring them here for a casual dinner. View looks onto Tower Bridge and Shard from the balcony. Surrounding area is lovely to have a short walk after dinner and see Tower Bridge while you're there.
K. C.
Reasonable selection of drinks. Fairly good standard menu. Chips were a bit dry though. Staff member who dealt with us needs a course in customer service and courtesy though. A smile and politeness goes a long way.
r. s.
Decent pub. Very pretty and typical of what one would expect from an English Pub. Maybe lacked a bit of atmosphere but thst could have been the day we were there
B. D.
Wonderful pub, roomy and picturesque overseeing lovely St. Catherine's Dock and marina. Well worth visiting! Very busy in the evening though.
h. a.
Amazing fish and chips, lovely servers, beautiful views of the Tower Bridge, and a great vibe inside the downstairs pub and also the upstairs grill house.
t. k.
Food service poor. Staff a mixture of effective/friendly/helpful and just there for 😞 the shift to end.
A. F.
This is one of my favourite pubs. Excellent location, only let down by the quality of food.
a. s.
Great atmosphere, great choice of drink but poor food choice, very little for non meat eaters.
B. T.
I liked it proper pub and cheaper than paying rip off hotel prices. Good friendly staff nice atmosphere
R. H.
The Dickens Inn is situated on the historic St Katharine’s Dock. I feel that the pub could be amazing and a local gem but I feel it is let down by the staff, dirty tables and toilets that are in disrepair - my other half went to the toilet and the seat was completely broken - a bit unsafe really. It is a beautiful 18th century building, with beautiful wooden frames on the inside and has so much potential but unfortunately I just felt it was lacking that special touch. It was nice to sit outside the pub but I wouldn’t have wanted to sit inside.
H. A.
The place is ok, location and architecture are more impressive than the food. Barman was friendly and helpful when asked for recommendations. Food was barely ok, not bad, but nothing I'd like to have again. Would go back for drinks and views from the terraces but definitely not for a meal.
K. M.
Super atmosphere, friendly helpful staff who were always smiling and good price. Thanks for the hospitality, always guaranteed a good time.
R. D.
Great location, quality pub, with great atmosphere. Also not overly priced.
N. S.
I recommend the Full English breakfast. My friends orders Fish & Chips but they were disappointed at the amount of batter around it and barely any fish inside it. Same for the Mixed Fish Basket, my friends left half all the batter a side, because it was too much batter and almost nothing inside.
Staff is very friendly and the surrounding location is beautiful.
R. D.
Interesting place this over 3 floors of bars etc. Friendly staff whole area steeped in history
J. M. S.
Great location
Spacious areas
Diverse beers and drinks
Clean bathrooms
Good pub food
Friendly staff
Overall to be repeated
S. M.
Lovely atmosphere and beautiful old building. Let down by the food which is very basic and cheap ingredients, but the drinks and service were great.
I. M.
The best place in London can be nice atmosphere and great food nothing more
A. M.
Beautiful pub inside and out in a fantastic location.
Only a short walk from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Great service, friendly staff, lovely food. Reasonable prices
C. L.
A stunning building that reminds me of an old Charles Dickens Inn. This restaurant and bar is a great place to go for tourist and anybody who wants to celebrate an event
G. H.
At the top floor at The Dickens Inn and the food served here is glorious.
As a venue, it has a charming atmosphere and the various pictures and items that are strewn across the walls deserve closer examination.
The staff are efficient and friendly - was never left with an empty glass for long.
But the main highlight is the quality of the food - the starters and mains are consistently extremely well prepared and taste wonderful.
It’s absolutely worth eating here if you have the opportunity to do so.
M. M.
Nice looking pub and great range of ales on the ground floor. Pizzeria on the first floor and grill/roast restaurant on the second. Place is let down by having a very limited range of drinks on the second floor. Roasts are nice and generous portions. Book early to avoid disappointment though as they sell out fast.
A. C.
Really nice pub in a great location in a quiet spot of London, a stone's throw from Tower Bridge.
C. W.
First visit here, great venue with friendly staff. Planning on a return at some point to try out the menu, the food looked really good!
K. P.
Great views and excellent atmosphere. Food isn’t the greatest for the price but the experience is still overall good!
s. w.
Lovely food fantastic waitress make you feel very welcomed will be back
C. L.
Love this place. Had a good evening meal with friends from the ECA. Great food and amazing service from a very dedicated Italian waiter.
R. F.
The location of this place is amazing and when the sun is out it looks a treat. A great place to go for locals and tourists alike. Well worth a visit after going to the local sights. St Katherine's docks are something you wouldn't expect to see in central London and the Dickens Inn is a great place to get a drink here.
W. M.
Great place, amazing customer service, Sunday roast was lovely:)
M.
Beautiful 18th century building, with beautiful wooden frames on the inside. Situated on the historic St Katharine’s Dock.
This pub could be amazing but is let down by the staff, dirty tables and toilets that are in disrepair.
N. P.
I was a bit disappointed.
My booking process was great and even when I called 2 times telling them I was late they were very fine with it, I guess also because wasn't a busy time of day or week.
The check in wasn't in my point of view the best. There is no way of track and trace if you haven't a phone with Internet and the maitre d' should be more warm and smiley in my point of view. Also looks like there is no other option to order besides a qr code or no one told us about it.
The menu is poor in vegetarian and vegan options and the variety is not great too. Its a big menu but in the end everything is very similar. A bit pricey but I guess you pay for the location and the amount of staff in the house.
The service was quick and the waiters were nice and attentive.
J.
Absolutely beautiful pub, I would highly recommend checking it out or using it as a venue
T. L.
A nice setting, lots of outdoor space and quick service via phone app. But the food is mediocre at best and poor compared to the price.
C. D.
Lots of space for seating. Quick service if you order through the app/website.
D. B.
A great place. Had a really good pint of cider while watching the Tower Bridge from the balcony.
N. C.
One of my favourite spots for a pint of beer in London. Nestled into St Katherine's beautiful Dock and surrounded by lovely boats / yachts. If you go to the Tower of London next door then you should pop in for refreshments.
M. B.
Regular two story place for food and beers. Service is reasonable. Nothing exceptional about this place including the menu.
S. K.
Great atmosphere, service, tasty food and beautiful decor.
Definitely 5* from me!
I spent there my anniversary.
Highly recommend!
J. a. R.
Nice ambience with a range of people, food and drinks. Chatty and happy staff. Lovely views too.
G. A.
Great place to grab a pint with friends and family. Tried the beer battered fish and chips and it was very soft and flavourful.
The only downside is the line to pay before ordering that can get annoying when full.
P. G.
Nestled in a cove close to the Thames. No traffic .Deck seating overlooks all kinds of sail boats and people watching . Varied menu. The only negative for me was 2 flights of stairs if you want steak. The building has been moved and restored with large beams and safety features to resemble old english.
N. R.
A decent sized pub with space inside and outside which was not too crowded on a Saturday night. Ideal to meet with friends.

Beautiful timber building with nice views of the marina. We sat on he upper floor outside on the porch it was a lovely day to eat out side.We had a late lunch on a Tuesday and there where not many others in the restaurant. Had 10 of us in our group so food was a bit slow coming. But the service was good. The backed Camembert was really good.
J. D.
Nice looking place but the food was disappointing. Judging by the stick used to hold my triple club sandwich even the kitchen staff were expecting something more than cheap sliced white bread with a tasteless filling for about £14. The Peroni was alright though
S.
Nice prices, in a beautiful location. The tavern is often busy but you can head upstairs to the pizzeria or grill for drinks too! Really nice on the balcony overlooking the Marina and tower bridge!
a. g.
Food was great but the place was freezing cold they had the doors open all night didn't stay long after we finished our dinner
M. C.
Although it’s a lovely place from the outside, it took far too long to get food on a not-busy day. My appetizers were great but my fish and chips was average and the bill ended up being ridiculous for the quality of the food. Mediocre service, mediocre food, I’d pass through for a pint but certainly nothing more
S. M.
Kind and friendly staff who stayed kind and friendly in hot, Covid confined conditions. Nice building and location and diverse customer base. Negatives were the limited menu, lack of salad ingredients, slightly transient vibe and the very high prices. I'd go again.
S. C.
Busy Friday evening but staff were friendly and attentive. Good hearty food was welcomed by us weary tourists. Great location and views and all lit up for Christmas.
A. S.
Great location, the pub Is beautiful - mainly during Spring and Summer with all those flowers - the outside area is the best. Food is overpriced though and can get a bit too busy with tourists sometimes.
P. M.
Really delicious. 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 Fish and chips is amazing.
The staff is very very kind.
To try absolutely.
M. H.
Visited on a weekday afternoon in August, lovely looking pub, stayed for a few beers and gins, outside seating area was nice and quiet away from sound of traffic. Nice place to chill in the sunshine, drinks wise good selection of beers, but gin just the mainstream stuff which was a bit of a let down. Otherwise it gets the thumbs up.
N. M.
Really cool area and the food was decent. Our waiter Moon was amazing.
T. B.
Near Tower Bridge. The is such a historic location on a Marina. Great views good food and libations.
A. H.
Now this is a difficult one to rate, absolutely loved the location and pub itself. Good lively atmosphere.
However absolutely appalling portion sizes when it comes to their chips!!! £4 for a mug of chips!!!! I know we were in London but come on! (photo taken next to a 1/2 pint glass for size)!!
J. G.
Love this pub, great food, great beer, great staff with lovely surroundings of the dock.
P. G.
My new favourite pub in London. Great venue, delightful location and they serve beer in steiners. You want to come here!
L. M.
Picturesque and charming place from the outside. Good beer choices. Always busy and nice ambient.
P. B.
Loved it, great service and atmosphere. Brilliant

Loved it.. Friendly warm atmosphere and great beers.
N. F.
Unique pub in lovely surroundings. Only thing that pulled it down was poor beer selection and expensive food.
J. G.
The venue itself is splendid, with really quiet balconies overlooking the marina, the food is ok but a bit pricey for what is it (but I guess you're actually paying for the amazing location)
M. G.
Great place in a nice area. The only problem was the service, I ordered a pizza and waited more than an hour for it and a drink they completely forgot to bring. It got to a point when I requested to take the added tip off my bill. Will perhaps try again in the future.
F. K.
Nice pub, super friendly staff. Burgers are ok, pretty pricey though

The Dickens Inn

❤️ The Dickens Inn is located in the heart of St Katharine’s dock and just a few minutes walk from Tower Bridge. It’s a good place to stop off for a pint after having a walk around the marina. There are also two restaurants based here, a pizzeria and a grill restaurant on the upper floors. The pub itself is a good size with oak floors and beams but it’s not what you would call a traditional boozer. The best thing about my visit here was sitting outside on the deck sipping a pint and admiring the views around the marina.

Very sweet staff who were willing to wait while our friend was late. Very attentive and not annoyed. Had the Beast size pizza which filled 5 of us to the brim really had to force it down but was too good to leave. Staff were happy to set up a birthday cake we bought in as well.
S.
We had a lovely dinner here on the third floor grill bar, I had a Caesar salad which was lovely and the waitress suggested a great bottle of wine. Staff were very friendly and the views from the balcony overlooking the boats in S Katherine's Dock were magnificent on a Summer evening.
G. G.
We ordered two pints of beer shandy, they tried to charge us for two pints of beer with ‘free’ lemonade. The pub is only average, staff not over-friendly and loos just ok. Good location though.
L. C.
A great classic, authentic pub which is a refreshing escape from the busy central London, taking in the lovely ambiance of St.Katherines Dock.
Fantastic atmosphere with a great Olde worlde feel.
Despite this we did get some cold chips that were supposed to be chessey but rather a squirty cheese sauce, however they did replace them fairly fast for us.
M. S.
Food was ok, service was ok. It was quite calm on a Friday night.
T. W.
Lovely place to sit and chill in good weather, good selection of beers, food is average pub grub, didnt have to wait long.
J. B.
It's a lovely place to dine and drink by the Thames and the tower. I walk my dog there regularly.
J. P.
Beautiful Pub :) But Abit Expensive.
A. S.
Very old pub set in lovely little marina. OK selection of beers only let down the food is far too over priced would expect to pay that a very good restaurant not a pub
K. U.
Popped in for a quick lunch before leaving London after a long weekend..hadn't booked but could accommodate us... Food was of served very quickly and tasted OK for frozen food... My expectation were higher and I thought the price for microwaved Sausage and Mash was over the top.
L. T.
We absolutely loved the atmosphere here. Prices were steep for food but for drinking they are pretty good. Gorgeous location.
J.
Expensive but lovely genuinely old pub in the beautiful st Katherine's dock. Caters for parties and weddings. Disappointed to find that at noon there were no sausages which I would have thought were easy to come by!
R. R.
It's a funny old place. Always heaving with tourists and Londoners but still a great atmosphere. It was all sparkly and lit up for Xmas 2019 and very busy. I'd come here again.
R. L.
Nice old Inn at St Catherine's docks. Didn't have any food, but the beer and cocktails were good and the service was too. Excellent outdoor seating area.
S. D. M.
Super pub, ground floor and terrace is a pub, first floor Italian restaurant and second floor grill restaurant. Super nice authentic feeling and not to touristic even though it's next to tower bridge!
S. C.
I really liked it in here, lovely interior and exterior, also the area in which it is situated is a very calming and relaxing environment, great views across the Dock and a good cold pint.
s. m.
Stunning views over the dock, and an amazing building to have a drink in. The woman at the front was very welcoming. The only down side was quite a basic beer selection, it would have been nicer to see a slightly more interesting range.
G. G.
Very warm restaurant at a historic 18th century warehouse. Service fast and polite. Burger was amazing, juicy and tasty. Nice view of the docks.
2. C. D.
Amazing building like stepping back in time. It lives up to its name. Nice place to sit and watch the marina and the boats.
D. F.
So I’d say a solid 7, good effort but they could have made more of the trees out the front.
Bit lacklustre this year.

Good, local food, nice staff, great location! ...but, book a table! ;-)
T. G.
Fantastic views from the balcony, ordering app was a bit difficult to master but got the hang of it eventually. Food was very good.
C. C.
A really beautiful place, I enjoyed my dickens' pint and it was affordable (you can eat, too)
What should I have needed more ?
G. M.
Awesome pub. Great pizza if you fancy a big one for 3+ people
D. A.
Nice and typical pub to eat and drink, in a great place.
E. L.
Service was perfect. No issues at all. Would visit again.
P. G. S.
London gem. You gotta visit it especially during the Christmas period. It is nothing too fancy inside but you get the original English experience in London.
R. V.
Cosy, characteristic pub in St Katherines dock area, in the least crowded part of the city. Ideal for a quiet visit in the evenings. Plenty of restaurants and cafes around the area.
H. I.
Nice place to drink.. Especially when hot and sunny.. Nice food menu too.. A big favourite with tourists.
J. C.
Lovely place in fab setting.. Staff, food and location first class...
G. C.
The place is gorgeous and the food amazing!!!!! The service at the grill was really kind. I will definitely going back again
B. J.
Aperol Spritz for 8£. Pizza does Not make it up to Italian standard, since they don‘t use 00 flour. The House and atmosphere is cool though.
M. N.
Very very quaint and in a lovely setting, I loved the antique look of the place.
C. /. L. V.
It is in the most expensive area anybody could live in london, so i would understand the prices... but the cottage pie i ordered it was a bit too salty and not quite how i would expect to be. Not going to lie the cider was 5.10£ and the pie aprox. 15£. But in rest nice vibes, a posh feeling and looks.
r. b.
amazing food, drinks, atmosphere, service is so friendly, it's the best pub
P. M.
Great location, great food happy efficient staff well worth a visit and good value for money, tip try to get a balcony table
P. J.
A nice old place full of nostalgia and well worth a stop to refresh yourself
T. H.
Fantastic looking public house, in a great location. Definitely worth the visit....
S. L.
Always a good pint. Excellent table service. Fantastic location in St Katherine's dock.
G. S.
Hands down the best meal we've had in London! Highly recommend!
W. K.
Good place to trade your money for a pint of beer. Selection is not great but if are fancy for a quick turn with friends should do the job more than well.
I. C.
This is one of my favourites pubs! Specially during summertime! Enjoy a drink with friends at their flowery terrace! The music inside is always great and the staff are so friendly and nice, specially the host! Strongly recommended!
D. J.
Place looks amazing from outside and is in a great location. However unfortunately our table was placed away from the views. We asked if we could move but was told we couldn't due to social distancing. Also didn't help that the heating wasn't working on our table. Service was good food was OK.
R.
Beautiful London pub, absolutely perfect to watch sunset over tower bridge from the window during the winter!
D. M.
This could be a generic Britsh Pub; However know that Charles Dickens lived on that house, make the experience special
A. D.
Great pub!
Original and a lush atmosphere
C. D.
Nice location. Good bar food. Good service. Outdoor seating.
M. W.
Nice pub, nice area but very pricey
A. A.
Great location beautiful pub food is beyond basic and prices for it are unjustifiable unfortunately
K. E.
Lovely pub, however ordered a portion of cheesy chips for £4.79, and it was a tiny portion! With a small bit of cheese in the middle!
N. D.
Good location gets very busy ..just regular pub food nothing special
R. I.
Huge place, wide beer selection and friendly staff. Recommended
T. R.
Beer ok but food not really, cold burger, pizza burn to much with poor quality cheese.
T. M.
Classic pub in a picturesque location. Beer selection is not at all adventurous, just the classics. It can also get rowdy.
C. S.
Very nice location by St Katherine Dock, drinks a bit pricey
R. L.
Nice view and good variety of beer. The food is also good, fish and ships are definitely a safe and good dish
D. C.
Lovely spot, but terrible food. Best to just get drinks unless the food quality improves.
T. T.
Ate lunch outside overlooking the marina watching how the other half live. Service good and staff very pleasant.
S. D.
Nice (massive) pub in St Katharine's dock. £5 or so for a pint.
G. S.
If you will be able to find the location of this pub go for it. You won't regret the visit.
A. S.
A nice picturesque place to get a drink on a summer's evening. Shame they close the outside so early as it was a bit warm inside but still great.
T. O.
Love ye olde vibe of this pub. Great view over st katherine's docks.
R. E.
Great big pub with some great west facing terraced seating. Great if you can get a balcony table on the upper floors. Decent pints, expensive food.
K. C.
Great atmosphere, drinks and food in the pub which I've been to many a time. Sadly, I wasn't allowed to have a meeting with some wine and nibbles at the first floor restaurant despite it being daytime and the place being almost empty. I was told that we could only stay if we ordered a meal. As weren't that hungry we went to a quiet coffee place round the corner. I understand the rules but they were a little off-putting given the context and time of day.
S. S.
Great location and vibe. Had the fish and chips - a bit dry!
R. F.
I love this place.
You can go there for a just a beer, for a good pizza or for some delicious grill. All in one place (different floors).
The facade of the place is really beautiful and helps to embellish the docks.
The interior is spacious and there is some extra exterior area as well.
They have a good selection of beers and ciders.
It also has many TVs on the ground floor for you to watch your favourite sport match.
The place seems fairly clean as well.
Overall, a great place!
I recommend it to anyone around looking to chill or to eat.
A. K.
Came here for a drink with my mate, bar staff really fun and friendly nice atmosphere
J. S.
Nice pub, okay food, great location and surroundings, day and night, inside and outside. Photos from the opposite dock.
N. M.
Only now getting back to normal. Lots of people having fun. Of course the beautiful setting helps! Huge place but you can still find a place to chat
E. G.
Delicious food, possibly the best meal we've ever had. We will be back!
J. H.
Pleasant experience. Food was a bit meh, but satisfying.
C. A. D. G.
Absolutely love this place.
Location is amazing and food always good
e. b.
Very nice location, friendly and efficient staff, excellent food and service.
G. G.
Lovely pub in a secluded place, St Katherine's Docks. A gem.
G. B.
Our first time to England. Food was delicious, staff was super friendly. Be sure to eat outside to enjoy the view.
G. G.
This incredibly pretty building overlooking the marina at St Catherine's Dock offers a spacious bar able to accommodate both casual visitors and organised, private events. On the day we visited, we found it to be quiet as are most of the bars and restaurants in the area on Sundays in winter. We were efficiently served our drinks by a well spoken if brusque bartender around 10.40pm. Efficiency appears to be a core value of team here as by 10.45, the security staff were already asking us to drink up quickly in anticipation of the bar closing at 11pm. Familiar with the drinking up time allowed by law, I suggested that there really wasn't such urgency in our departure. To say this was greeted without charm is an understatement. I'm happy to recommend the Dickens Inn but only if you are going early with the intention of leaving early, are not looking for a warm friendly welcome but simply a well located place to stop for a quick drink.
A. B.
Very cool pub with lots of character, but the food in the downstairs bar was very poor. Went on a Friday evening and enjoyed the atmos and beautiful pub inside but ordered the chicken burger in the downstairs bar for 12.99 and to be honest, it was like something you would get in chicken cottage, pathetic for that price! Tiny burger and small portion of fries. Enjoyed the pub and a lovely location but I cant understand how a nice place like that can serve up such laughable food!
K. R.
Hello everyone
I just want to tell everyone about The Dickens Inn. Fantastic pub, great atmosphere and excellent friendly staff. Couldn't be more helpful and cannot fault in any way.
See you very soon.
D. M.
The place is very unique and set in a lovely area. Food is good but slightly over priced.
J. W.
Friendly staff and covid conscious business. They have a lovely guy welcoming people with a mask who clearly lays out the rules and checks that you have registered with the track and trace qr system before allowing you in. There is plenty of outside seating and many markings inside along with one way systems.
Drinks not badly priced for London and beautiful views.
C. H.
Exceent service by our young waiter that night. Thoroughly recommend
V. G.
Lovely atmosphere and very spacious with a great outlook into the dock.
c. G.
Fantastic pub lovley staff very helpful good sport on televisions good Socail pub 😁
A. M.
This is a solid place to eat,not too expensive and quite tasty.
I'd say The Dickens Inn is one of the best pub in London because of its location and the atmosphere of the place. I'll definitely come here again soon!
C. J.
A lovely pub with great outdoor seating which was accessible with a pram. Food and drinks were easy to order via our phones, were delivered quickly and were tasty.
M. W.
Great venue for small or large group. Good choice of beer and plenty of space
S. M.
Great location. Food stalls out the front with food that smelt heavenly. Good pint of pale ale and great seating area for a look at passers by. Didn't have any food but all looked nice. This place has character and charm and you won't be disappointed by the surroundings either. I understand it's used for wedding receptions, mainly because it's right in the middle of such a popular area. Will definitely return maybe evening time to see it from a different view.
L. S.
What a Pub...views!!! I was delighted with the structure of this place! Full of energy, delicious beers and fantastic staff! Great atmosphere to go with friends. I imagine that in the hot days in London! Unfortunately I visited at the end of the winter...and I loved anyway.... But I hope to go back soon!
M. N.
If even you could have a charismatic pub, this would be it! All olde worlde in style in a lovely location
J. R.
The venue is fantastic, just standing outside emotes incredible nostalgia for classic old inns that serve great ales and larger.
Even yesterday as it functions at a very small capacity due to covid it was still great. Very well organised, and food was served quick, good staff, cannot wait to return.
A. K.
Usual pub nice place to hang out with
J. H.
Excellent location, reasonable selection of beers & good pub grub
G. T.
Traditional quaint British pub in a fabulous location. Good ambience. Surprisingly good choice of menus including vegetarian dishes. Very tasty and much improved since our last visit over a year ago. Will come again for sure.
A. F.
Excellent location, views and vibe, yet the menu is somehow limited (not a bad thing in itself) and prices are a bit higher than they should be. Still, possibly in line with average prices for the area.
S. B.
Lovely location to watch the boats, especially on a sunny day if there is an event on in the docks
D. A.
Very limited food options on the menu, especially vegetarian. Great place otherwise. Good service, great vibes, excellent location
J. F. P.
A vey nice and typical place, at a great location in the very heart of london.
We took the tube to tower hill and then walk, the views are great.
l. d.
Enjoyed this place, friendly staff not to crowded, good beers.
N. K.
Gorgeous views and lovely looking pub from outside, but service is not great and food is tastles.
A. C.
Great massive pub. Not to expensive, mid range.
V. V.
Nice burgers, perfect view
T. B.
Great looking place with a wonderful and pleasant atmosphere inside.
Ł. M. (.
Hidden gem. Love this pub. Amazing location.
C. M.
Lovely location. Bar music a little loud
S. K.
Nice pub, nice atmosphere. Gets packed on a weekend. Very picturesque building from the outside. Didn't eat here so cannot comment on the quality of the food but see other people's plates and they looked nice with generous sized portions.
J. N.
Nice location for this pub/restaurant in a 18th century building in a restored dock and shipping area. The food was good enough to bring us back a couple of days later for another meal and the service was prompt and attentive. Go there, you'll like it.
Z. M.
Charming pub, and wonderful atmosphere. Didn't have food there, so can't comment on that. Selection of beers average, as you would find in many touristy bars. Staff was friendly and laid back. Will definitely go back, and would recommend it, specially for big groups as there is plenty of space in and out.
I. L.
A beautiful historic pub in a lovely setting. It’s a great place to drink but the bar can get very busy. There is plenty of space inside and out but outside area shuts at 9:45.
Eating upstairs is not the best experience, the food is good but quite pricey and for some reason you can only order from a very small selection of drinks unless you go down to the bar yourself.
D. M.
Fab place. Decent pint. Well worth a visit
D. G.
Huge pub which has three floors! Great place to hold events. If your interested in boats there is always loads to look at and dream about! Great food, great staff, massive selection of drinks an honestly the best pub in London! A must go to!
M. M.
Food in the Grill is good. Atmosphere is also good. Few beers on tap though.
M. D.
A truly unique pub / restaurant experience in the very heart of London. Housed in a large converted 18th century warehouse. It's located in St. Katherine's Dock close to the Tower of London. This quiet and unique neighbourhood belies it's location. It sets the scene for your experience at the Dickens Inn. The inn hosts a restaurant serving quality English pub style food. The pub itself serves a good selection of beers and ales under the wooden beams of the original structure. There are few tables with a large area given over to the after work crowd with standing room only. The place is usually quiet in the afternoons and is a great place to relax from the bustle of London. In early to mid-afternoon you will likely find a table inside, on summer days there is some outside seating. Well worth a try.
P. N.
Wonderful pub right on the riverside over looking St Katherine Docks close to Tower Bridge. A big place with multiple bars. Great experience for locals or tourists alike. Recommended for a visit when you are down on the river front. Great staff and great atmosphere.
Ü. Y.
Three levels of pub. 2 with different restaurants. Large selection of beers with a great view!
V. J.
Very conveniently located near the hotel I stayed. Food was great and beer was cold. Only thing is the bar staff wasn't the friendliest. You had to grab a table, remember the number, walk up to the bar to buy beer, order food and give the table number. Each restaurant is different, nothing wrong in helping a new customer out by outlining how it works.
S. G.
Great location, beautiful looking building. More of a summer pub, for when you can take in the surroundings, plus the interior isn’t too fetching.
Strictly a drinks spot for me, you’d have to be mental to eat here.
J. W.
Always been good as I have been visiting it for about 40 years .
A. K.
Nice place to have drinks / Service is very quick / food is good
C. B.
Great food and a nice atmosphere. Go there and enjoy a nice break.
t.
The food was okay, it’s a bit pricey. The main focal point is the venue itself that is a gorgeous multiple floor pub decorated with thriving plant life. Located in St Katherine dock it offers marvellous views and it has outside seating when weather permits.
The pub has several restaurants inside: grill, pizza and the pub itself. Lots of space and it’s pretty calm here, so recommended if you are not fan of noise and overcrowded places
C. T.
Christmas set meal was fantastic (grill bar), so decided to go again a year after for a general meal (grill bar), the food quality had gone down and staff were playing music out of their phone in the kitchen so what could have been a relaxing meal certainly was not. If your going to have an open kitchen in the restaurant area then you need to think about your customers in the restaurant. Your customers do not appreciate explicit music when eating!
L. S.
Very charming pub. Had some local beers and was overall pleased.
K. D.
Lovely venue. Reasonably priced drinks, for London.
D. D.
Took a group of 7 here one evening for a meal in the grill. I hadn't booked but the staff were extremely helpful and arranged things in no time at all. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced, and the whole place was comfortable and cozy. Will be going back.
J. D.
Lovely old pub lots of character and good food
M.
Great menu! Really good cooking for a (still) affordable price. It is pretty hot in there but the food is worth it... Wished the whisky was less expensive... Because they have some good bottles
V. M.
It may be a shameless tourist trap, but it's still a great place to stop for a drink.
If you're lucky enough to get a seat on the deck in the sunshine, it's a great place to sit and admire the boats on the dock. Inside is a mix of busy/chain and historical/quaint, which is an odd mix that somehow works here.
Worth a drop by if in the area!
D. M.
Great place! Love the pizza at the Pizzeria!
M. W.
Fabulous English pub in beautiful but busy St Katherine's Dock. Its a combination of tourists looking for a classic English pub and British people there for a do. Its massive. But not cheap. Beers 6 quid plus a pint. ( Its south west facing so go there in the afternoon/evening for glorious sunshine). Worth it though to have a pint in that location in the evening sun.
M. V.
Really nice interior/vibe, nice staff, good food
s. m.
A family meal in the shadow of Tower Bridge. Food was good, you do, however pay a little more for the location!

What a lovely find. Gorgeous outside with all the flowers so pretty. Nice big seating area inside with a large choice of drinks. Didnt eat but menu looked nice. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by.

I wanted to add a counterweight to Kat Cat's review. Imagine going to a pub mid-pandemic, during lockdown, and expecting them to accommodate some random lady who 'deemed the place empty'. Wow.
The staff here have been lovely every time me and the whole family have visited on many a Sunday afternoon. Couldn't recommend it more!

Hard to find a table. Don’t offer online booking, you have to send emails..
But the place is lovely. Ask for a table on the balcony!

Wonderful location at scenic St Katherine's Dock, the pub dripping with colourful hanging baskets... Very photogenic. A fair selection of ales and lagers in a dark and expansive ale house...I'd have liked a bitter shandy but no bitter on offer... Still, we enjoyed our half hour there, and the beer garden outside was pompom full. Very popular in the sunshine...

Absolutely love the Dickens Inn!
Around St Katherines Docks there are so many cut and paste chain restaurants, so it's great to go to a really authentic place that s steeped in history.
The pub on the ground floor is very good, and not ridiculously expensive. I haven't eaten in the pizza restaurant on the first floor, but it's usually family busy, which is probably a good sign. The grill restaurant on the top floor is very nice. Tasty and fairly priced. When we recently took my three year old, the guy was really nice, chatted with him and gave him some paper and pencils etc.

Hidden Gem! After a long day visiting all the major sites we needed a good meal to end the night. We found it here. The fish and chips were outstanding. The Sunday roast was delicious. Decent beer selection. If you are looking for a place to go and can't decide they have everything. From a Pup on the main floor, pizza focused on the second floor and an upscale steak restaurant on the third floor. It also comes with a view of the marina.

Massive venue, great location but a bit soulless

This place has it all. Location, food variety, pleasant ambient. It features three different restaurants, a tavern, an Italian and a grill house, so you will find definitely something to suit your craving. The interior is very nice, it has an old traditional look and is more imposing than the average pub. Weather permitting, the balconies overlooking the docks are excellent, you can even catch glimpses of tower bridge from here. Food-wise, I tried the Sunday roast on the grill house. Unfortunately they where out of beef so I have the chicken, which was not a fillet as usual but the entire leg and breast. But these things aside, it was very well cooked and was tasty. The downside was the price which is above the average pub. I would come again though, because this is a lovely place.

Service was very slow. Our food arrived over 45 minutes after it was ordered. It was only a steak and, and a fish and chips. The restaurant had many diners, but it was nowhere near capacity.
Good quality of food, and a very cool ambiance, being that the restaurant is located inside a very old building of heavy timber construction. Take a trip to the bathrooms in the basement. Wander down the hallway towards the "gents loo", and enjoy the quotes painted on the walls.
Also, the dessert...order the berry eton mess. It is delicious!

Reasonably priced drinks and great atmosphere. Bartender was really friendly and up for a laugh. Loved the feel of the pub and had plenty of room to sit down both inside and out.

Great pub located in the Docks area away from all the busy central London buzz. When it's sunny it's a great place to sunbathe and drink a beer with friends. The building itself looks old and full of history but wonder when it will be restored as it surely shows signs of weather damage.

Great pizza on the 2nd floor. Make sure you get up there and check it out.

The food was of good quality, although the portion seemed a little small for my "large starter as main" variant of fishcakes. We were sat outside on the top floor restaurant, which the staff managed to accommodate us even though it was busy and we were a walk in group. The food and drink was a little expensive, and for those wishing to drink beer the selection was limited unless you wanted to walk down 2 floors to the bar and buy separately.

Ate in the The Grill. Lovely meal. Sat on the terrace overlooking St Kathryns Dock.

Ate breakfast here which was a full English and it was very tasty. Nice chilled atmosphere. The place itself was very nicely decorated with flowers which made it even more welcoming and nice to sit outside and enjoy the view. I would definitely go again if I am ever back in London.

Held my boyfriends birthday drinks here. They saved a bunch of tables for us for a £100 deposit. Lovely, historic and cosy pub, despite the huge size of it! Toilets were old school and not especially well looked after. Lovely afternoon/ evening on a winter’s day!

Nice environment. Good food

We went there in a hot day and sat outside on the deck. Had few cocktails and carried on our tour. Cocktails were great. It’s located in cute hidden yacht port.

Such an amazing place! Wonderful inside and out. If you have the chance to visit it in a sunny day you will realize that what I'm talking about is true. Traditional British pub, good drinks selection, nice food and young and attentive service. It's a special place to me.

Nice pub. Great service and food.

A popular spot. Despite its large size, it still tends to get very busy. Beers on tap offer a fairly standard selection, not overly pricey which is a relief given location. Would recommend for groups in the evening. I'd always be happy to go, can't knock it.

Very limited seating outdoors, and lack of proper aircon in the summer can make the indoors hellish. Also restrict to just indoors more than an hour before closing. A fair selection of cider, beer, and ales, but very limited on wine.
Lovely setting in the docks, but don't get a lot of the views.
Indoors, when there's not an event on, there's a decent amount of seating. But the TVs are cranked far too loudly in one of the halves. Can make conversation quite difficult.
Food is typical pub food, good when you're drinking, but wouldn't go just for that.
Would say it's better in the cooler months.

The pub is absolutely wonderful and full of character. Its situated in a lovely location St Katherines Dock. Definitely a great place to come and have a few drinks.
Not a big fan of the food however. We ate in the Grill, and i'd say the food was distinctly average - not unbearable, but average. Personally, i feel this place is definitely a fab place to chill with some drinks - but i would go elsewhere for food.

Iconic pub! Not only thanks to its great location, but also the fact that it is somewhat hidden in a marina. Also, in spring, the pub is covered in flowers. Food is also of good standard. If you are taking people around London to visit the town, it is well worth stopping there for lunch.

Brilliant pub, clean and very quick service for how busy it was
