Traditional pub on the edge of Woolwich centre. Friendly and spacious. Good atmosphere.

Went to a wake here they sectioned part off at the back for private use. We could order small pots of tea as well as usual pub beverages. We had a buffet that was a mix of hot and cold food such as chips/sausages/cheese board selection of bread which was all very fresh, clean (as was the pub) and tasty. Being a Thursday afternoon it was not too busy. The staff were helpful polite and respectful of the occasion. I was a member of the party not the direct customer.

We attended the poetry evening about every month. It's a very friendly and culture meeting with very interesting people, all having beautiful ideas in their poetic and musical expressions. Yesterday the theme was dedicated to "The black history month" a fantastic expression of the topic. We really enjoyed it.

Jazz night hosted first Sunday of the month, Surprisingly good, from about 7:30 - 10pm on a Sunday night, i tagged along with a mate and thoroughly enjoyed it the vibes was chill and good atmosphere pints where decent price. Didn't try the pub food so can't comment but beer was good

Used to use Friday afternoon except it's, acquired the off bonkers customer. Try not to get engaged in chat to the elderly old woman. She'll only talk about herself and not want to hear any other viewpoint. Staff would vary some good others ignore you. The place is mad weekend evenings to early morning and has had it's troubles. Food is only slightly better than average.

My local when I lived in Woolwich...turns into a nightclub from 10pm.... Some nights are ok but again it can be hit and miss. The doormen as usual are doing their job but as long as you're not too drunk, they will let you in. They also have a no cap policy for safety and security purposes....

They've got all the new flavours of Walkers Max crisps so get down there. Wicked for football. I like dropping in for the 5 30 Saturday live game and order a toasted sausage sarnie. I'd recommend the sausage, chips and beans as well as the nachos, which come with plenty of cheese. The Christmas fairy informed me of a new big screen being fitted, soon! ... Just noticed the new Christmas tree. Nice tree that.

Gotta say, Lesley and Keith deserve 5 stars for the way they welcome you and the other staff make you feel at home. As a local run by locals it deserves everyones support versus the supposedly swankier pubs in the area...

I was comfortable to go in here on my own while I waited for my friend to arrive. The pub is light and friendly, they have lots of windows at the front to watch the world go by or a TV screen, normally showing sport.

Quality of music is not the best and you can get a not so well cleaned glass, aside of that ambience is really good and its open long hours for the weekend, better to go on Friday! Cover is free if you get before 10pm
