E. U.I arranged a big group Christmas Sunday lunch here and honestly, we had the best afternoon. All the food was so tasty, there was a good variety of roasts, staff were amazing; attentive but also left us to it, so we felt really comfortable. We had such a fun day/evening! Thank you to George and Francesco and the rest of the team for going out of your way to make our day really special. The interior is really lovely too. Nice friendly pub! We will be back.
S. G.Fun vibrant pub, north London. Great Christmas vibes, quick service, large bar. Unisex toilets a weird experience but more because of stepping through guys pee. However, I was hammered so didn’t mind as much as I would if I was sober. Secret garden was cute.
D. r.George, Clara, Abbey and Elanyna are a fantastic team. They make the pub great. They are always so friendly and welcoming. This pub is my local and I love coming here. Their service is amazing and I'm always so happy to come here. The food is delicious and I am so pleased to have this pub on my doorstep.

C. G.Great to see the pub cleaned up so well and a decent transformation on what was a run down smelly bar. However, the lack of heaters or even cheap ikea throws to keep patrons warm in the back garden took away from how nice it is. Staff were lovely, but sadly food was cold by the time we got it. Cant wait till we can sit inside, as love the brightness of it, but please sort out some type of heat/warmth facilities asap as even though summer is coming, the fact the garden is almost always in the shade means it will always be chilly. Look forward to seeing it become a good local spot

j. c.Me and my partner went to this pub Friday. Firstly I have to say the place has been done up beautifully. I have lived in the area all my life and seen some real changes in Essex Road and now at the Engerfield. Which was the Lord Clyde remembering from a child. First I would say that the place had know system as we were horrified to see people ordering at the bar for drinks. I am in this business myself and as everyone who at this present moment knows at this moment shouldn't even be near the bar.Sad to say also there was not great customer service. As we had to wait for a drink outside In the garden for hour to get a drink.. there was no heaters to keep people warm considering they have spent so much money. I will be coming back in the future to see if the reviews on site can be taken on board. One other thing there was a tall blond lady who I think was the manager should be more polite and customer friendly as she didn't look like she wanted to be there. But all other staff were all trying there best. Even the chefs made a effort as they said goodbye as we were leaving.
C. G.Lively and nice crowd. I visited here with friends, and ended up going back the next day! The service was great, the bar staff all super friendly. the pub itself has been done up to such a high standard, and it shows. a good mix of people in this place, and it makes Essex road as a whole more of a go-to which i think must be helping the other places around it.

Well done to the owners as it is so much brighter and with a totally different crowd. The staff were all so sweet and friendly even though it was clearly super busy running around. 100% going to be my new local, and will be even better when we can sit inside also!
P. S.Lovely food (beef wellington) and really friendly hosting from barman. A big improvement on before, the whole place feels brighter & more open. I agree with other comments here, that toilets would be better going back to how they were before, M & F separated.

The place has been upgraded to a great standard and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. All staff members - from security to bar staff were friendly and welcoming and offered great customer service all evening. Thank you all so much for making my first evening out after lockdown a great experience. I will definitely be back and highly recommend ☺️

B. J.Nice friendly put with helpful and smiling staff, new open kitchen area leading to the beer garden and oh I like the added astro turf on the side of the wall leading to the beer garden. A good selection of beer and spirits and alway a bonus when they have your favourite bourbon 🥃😁

B. T.Really good bites, starters and specials. Not the regular food you'd expect from such a bar but a lot better. Nice garden in the back that is chilled out. Could buy heaters tough, I was freezing.
