Reviews of The Fentiman Arms
D. T.
A very nice beer garden. Booking in advance is highly recommended as this is a really nice place. The outdoor seating is very good, with floral decorations and amazing lighting. There is an overhead covering so it is also perfect for a rainy day. The food here is good. The fries are especially good. The burger is average but we came here for the environment but not the food so we think it is acceptable. Good service and reasonable price.
G. L.
Lovely tucked away pub with spacious seating inside and comfortable, covered outdoor seating. Highly recommend the burger for a main and cabbage as a side dish. Friendly customer service.
A. G.
Food was lovely. Beer garden is a delight with patio heaters. Good for smokers. Excellent service and friendly staff. Would highly recommend!
m. m.
Nice setting, with comfortable seats under a patio heater on the patio. Lovely Sunday roasts and excellent selection of beers and wine. Took forever to get served unfortunately - would have liked to try a dessert, but between the kitchen and overburdened wait staff it was a lost cause.
J. W.
Great pub tucked away in Oval. Decent range of drinks, nice layout and a friendly vibe. Would recommend for a the start of a night out or drinks with friends
P. B.
Great local pub with fab food. Dog friendly, lovely staff, lots of tables both indoors and out. Fun atmosphere, great place for a night out or just to meet for a drink.
J. H.
Great pub with a welcoming atmosphere.
The roast is epic and well worth the money!
Ample beer garden with plenty of seating and cover from the sun/rain.
The Bloody Mary's are highly recommended.
P. R.
Excellent back street local. Young's Special 4.5 top draw. Three beers available food looked good. Highly Recommended
G. C.
Good range of beers on tap, good food offered as well. We stopped in for lunch and they offered a lighter menu as well as something more substantial for the hungrier in the group. Really well presented outdoor area in the back and a proper pub feel in the front. You could do a lot worse than this in London.
J. G.
Literally the best local pub I’ve been to in London. Tastefully renovated, great outdoor area, great menu variety.
N. P.
This is a decent pub, mostly for its location if nothing else. Beer selection is wide but no gems, outdoors is large but unremarkable. The niceness comes from it being in a quiet neighborhood, between the noise of Vauxhall / Nine Elms and Clapham Road. Food is decent but forgettable. It's decent and I'll go when I'm next at the cricket.
A. D. (.
We had lunch here a couple of weeks ago. The staff are friendly. The food is great. It is a lovely restaurant.
R. E.
Had a great lunch between the innings at the cricket (the pub is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the Oval). A large choice of good beers and tasty food (salmon salad and steak pie - lovely. Covered garden is a great place to sit.
P. M.
Popular local pub, mainly young professionals. Good (if slightly pricey) food. I'm not a great fan of being asked to tip every time you buy a pint.
J. C. (. a. J.
Very good Young's pub in a quiet street off the Clapham Road. 3 cask beers available at all times. Lots of outdoor seating some of it covered. Decent menu including vegetarian and vegan options
L. A. I. G.
Nice cover beer garden with lamp heat, veggie burger or beef both are good quality. Price a bit up but no too crazy. I enjoyed my evening there. Good environment, 100% recommend.
T. B.
There's a good selection of beer and nice garden but really wouldn't recommend anyone eat here. My main gripe is with the nduja macaroni. It consists of homeopathic levels of nduja with 12 minute cooked pasta with some melted cheddar cheese. It's an absolute disgrace. Other food is average but seriously overpriced.
A. S.
The best 90s-00s music selection I've heard in a pub for many many years. And this was early on a Monday evening! Decent beer selection too.
10 on 10, will visit again!
E. C.
Food was really very poor. However lots of outdoor seating and pleasant staff. Definitely a good spot for drinking but don’t go looking for a decent dinner.
m. h.
What can I say about this pub? My wife Karren loves it, the garden is almost a perfect rectangle, the roast is reasonably great. But most importantly, the sticky toffee pudding reminds me of a square xmas cake. 5 stars
y. p.
My son took me for my Birthday meal yesterday, the plant burger was fantastic and the staff were friendly and attentive also the pub is super clean and I also felt very safe sitting inside
A. W.
A nice pub with a generally happy atmosphere but maybe pot luck with the bar staff. Some seem really friendly but a couple were very very slow to serve and didn't keep check on who to serve next. The food is nice enough but quite pricey. The outdoor area closes early with some perfunctory staff herding you inside but I guess the neighbours get chippy about the noise so fair dos. Anyway not a bad place overall but lots of nicer pubs to choose from in my opinion.
S. N.
Spacious but with traditional pub feel. Good range of beers and amazing food. And doesn't charge London prices so smiles all round.
K.
Great beer garden but sadly the food is very average. We both had a pork roast and the meat was very dry. Then shared a sticky toffee pudding which was too burnt to eat. Staff are lovely though, would recommend for a drink but not food
C. U.
It had a really nice relaxed vibe I would definitely recommend to check it out at lunch of the cricket quick service and the staff where friendly aswell as having a beer garden however I would only advise higher spenders to come here as you have to pay the price for quality throughly worth it however
M. O.
Really nice pub and beer garden. Food and drinks are a little overpriced.
E. W.
Lovely outdoor space, excellent food and drinks!
N. S.
Great atmosphere. Nice staff. Good food and service. Perfect place to have a comfortable evening with your friends. Dog friendly. Love going back there with my dogs. Strongly suggested
A. C. Q.
Customer service was great, food was also amazing.
Tho one small error in the mushroom main dish which can't find on the online page, was a bit too watery.
Other than that everything else was amazing
A. G.
One of our first roasts post lock down and it was fab. The roast chicken was big enough to share and the pork was salty (a bit too much for my taste) but the skin was super crispy while the inside was still moist. Nice big back patio for our out door dining lives
D. S.
Fantastic food and lovely atmosphere. Really enjoyed our evening.
S.
This pub has a really nice outdoor seating area with heating and quick and friendly service. The food is a tad expensive - I paid £15 for a plant-based burger with fries that really wasn't exceptional.
R. L.
Watched a soccer game here. Pretty crowded but in a good way. Got some good food while watching the game.
Outside & inside screens.
Tip for tourists apparently reserving a table is a common ting in England. Don't be surprised if all tables are reserved.
Would watch a game here often.
Cant judge for having a drink or meal but it looks good
A. G.
Lovely, we had a leaving party for colleagues, good garden space, really pretty, covered in case of rain. Staff welcoming 😊 reasonable prices for food and drinks 👍🏻
R. A.
Lovely pub, been here many times and it's always been good service, food and a great atmosphere.
G. H.
My first introductuon to the pub was the most warm and friendly bar manager. Super staff. Great service. The outside area is huge, a great space, a little tired, but the wonderful staff make up.
K. G.
Good pub, nice private room and service seemed helpful & fast!
a. e.
The building is really lovely, and the interior is fab - with the different sections and little bits on the walls and stuff - staff are all really good too.
Would only go back at a really quiet time as when i went the other guests were obnoxiously loud, rude, and selfish - people who stand in front of doors then act offended when they need to move.
O. B.
I have been a local at the Fentiman Arms for many years and I have to say that Emily, Livi, Jenny,(the best). Harry and Francois
Love them all.
S. R.
Great beer and location, the food from the lunch menu wasn’t my favorite.
J. R.
We had a great session here with friendly, efficient serivce!
K. W.
My mate and I went there on our way to the oval. ( I've been several times before) he wasn't very happy with the food he ordered, indeed told the waitress, the manager came to our table and didn't charge us for anything, drinks included, really nice gesture, I'll be back.
N. C.
A really nice pub with a good welcoming atmosphere.
Decor is bright and seating is comfortable.
Good choice of food. Found it difficult to choose what to have with so much choice.
The fish and chips were great.
Great service by Emily, the food was hot and delicious served quickly. Good choice of beers and wines. Handy for the Oval too.
R. B. C.
Quiet slow service but great food
R. L.
Lovely pub. Food is decent from what I have experienced with excellent service. The atmosphere is where the pub really shines. The garden seating area is lovely with heaters and blankets for the evening and a great decor. On busier days, it may be ideal to book a table if you're set on going there as it can get pretty full.
A. T.
Had a great night at the Fentiman. Emily and Geirgia were brilliant. Service was excellent. Hope to visit again soon.
O. H.
Really liked the place. Friendly staff and well made drinks. Only let down was that it took them half an hour to bring me a single scoop of ice cream. But, annoyingly, I can't be too mad because the dessert crumble was very tasty and almost worth the wait.
S. G.
Superb pub/restaurant we've recently discovered. Fantastic staff, great service and excellent atmosphere. Now our local
M. D.
Great pub, very nice outdoor area. Service was a little slow but understandable due to Covid.
S. H.
Really like this pub, it’s warm, bright and has a good atmosphere. The team are nice and the place is well kept. Best of a number of local pubs I’ve tried with clients in the area. Good function room for events upstairs too.
E. O.
Fantastic service from Jasmine! Went above and beyond for our party!
Z. E.
Enjoyed a few drinks here to welcome home a friend who has lived abroad. The place was really busy (the food is incredible here so that's understandable) quick service. Excellent atmosphere, very friendly place!
S. T.
Lived in London all my life, never heard or been to this pub before, until now. Great atmosphere, decor. Very cosy environment. Would be a great one to go to during the winter months and snuggle up in.
O. T.
brilliant pub with a garden and good selection of beers. the food is good but be careful with the starters, they're not really starters and more like mini meals! love the mac and cheese! the pub quiz on a tuesday is a good laugh for a quid
A.
Nice place for a quiet drink, plant burger was excellent but a bit pricey
Z. Z.
Quality was near perfect Rachel is awesome here good luck girl
L. S.
Great customer service. The staff is always friendly and polite. Most of time it's easy to get a seat unless there's a cricket playing in Oval so the pub gets really busy then -but they always cope with it well. Lots of space especially outside with a lovely back garden & a great atmosphere. Management does an excellent job to keep the place running well..:) Shame I haven't discovered this place earlier ;) All the best Fentiman Arms!
П. И.
Very nice place, atmosphere, members of the team and food, especially pie and salad nicoise. Will definitely come back)
Z. T. F. c.
Nice clean pub offering traditional births foods and selection alcoholic and soft drinks .
M. W.
Slightly of the beaten track but obviously popular with those in the know and now I know why. The food is excellent and a decent price for what is virtually central London. The decor is nice and the staff attentive and helpful. Good range of beers, including four call ales on handpump on my visit. Seemed to have a decent wine selection. If you are nearby and wondering where to go you could not do much better than here.
C. M.
fabulous beer garden in London, food was refined and a cut above your average pub grub. Staff were friendly and efficient. Get very busy after a match at the nearby Oval, but lovely for a sunny afternoon in the garden if it's quiet.
J. N.
It's a good pub. Has a garden, good food, good people. Can organise events upstairs. It's great to catch up with friends or have a quiet pint by yourself.
S. H.
The fentiman arms is an attractive pub nestled amongst large and beautiful Victorian home. A nice sized front patio with two large tables and a couple smaller. On entry the bar is a good size. A cosy and warm atmosphere. Through to the back is a large back garden with lots of seating ideal for large groups of people or a party even. I arrived with work colleagues for a late lunch. 2 vegetarians and 1 non drinker and two 'normal' people. We were 30 mins early but our pre booked table was ready. Great. Ordered beers at the bar no problem. The non drinker asked for a cup of tea. The tea arrived at the table about 15mins later but it was earl grey. Proceeded to order our food. Not many veggie options but lucky the lady serving us asked the chef if he could whip up a simple salad which he did no problem. The tea drinker asked for a normal pot of tea but took a further 20mins to arrive. Finally the food arrives. The two veggies are happy with their veg. 1 sausage and mash no problem. Now...the two beef roasts. They arrived stone cold and had to send them back. When we finally got the roast it was ok but not spectacular. The beed its self was very slightly blushing in the middle. Very fatty on the outside but not much colour. The gravy was poor in my opinion. Very pale in colour and next to no flavour. Seemed like a bad chicken gravy. Potatoes barely roast. The star of the plate was a great Yorkshire pudding. A good size and very crispy. Veg was slightly over cooked and not seasoned or under seasoned at the most. Over all not a great. Staff were friendly and polite but service was slow. I shall not be returning for food but may return for drinks on a hot day.
T. C.
Our booking made mid-week could not be found when we arrived on Saturday. Fortunately we were found a table. Staff seemed distant and inattentive. Waited a long time before we were served , thankfully we had purchased drinks at bar. Although not busy our share starter took ages but was then immediatly followed by my son's main meal ( which was wrong ) and then the two other mains. Very highly priced for a pub even in London but on a good note to end the meals were excellent hence the third star.
A. B.
Great food & service
w. h.
My favourite pub in South West London. Good, concise, selection of Ales (Youngs and Doombar always on tap) as well as fruity ciders, so always an easy option when taking others along with you. The garden is very well done and often gets the sun right into the evening. Also, some great pork pies, sausage rolls and scotch eggs. Can quite easily find yourself saying "I think I'll just settle into an afternoon session down at the Fentiman this weekend". Naturally the pit-stop for many enjoying a day at the Oval.
P. S.
Had a fantastic Christmas lunch with our gang of 20+ people on Sunday 15 December 2019. It was our third or fourth annual gathering at the Fentiman Arms and Francois and the team looked after us so well we have already booked our party for 2020!
R. B.
Great beer selection and atmosphere. You can bring your dog as well which is always a bonus and the waiters will always make you feel at home. The menu was printed incorrectly but they were very apologetic and offered to take this off the bill, great customer service and food, would recommend to everyone.
S. B.
Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Good beer and nice pims!
R. K.
Great back garden and local feel
M.
I moved to Oval and past this place a few times. Decided to go I for some food and a pint. The food was overpriced but it was quite enjoyable. I ended up having a few more pints and cracking laughs with the bar staff. It got quite a vibrant buzz to it. For a local pub hidden away I must say I was shocked to find it had a lovely huge beer garden
K. C.
Visited 29th April. Great service all round and friendly team - Shout out to Emily. Would unhesitatingly recommend and will visit again.
S.
Beautifully relaxing pub with an outdoor bbq and bar in the rear garden. Friendly helpful staff. Superb top notch food served lunchtime through to evening. Lovely Sunday lunches! Cosy sofas and comfy chairs for sitting in front of a 'real' fire on a cold winters evening. Wide variety of beer and ale. Hoegaarden is served here! Friendly clientele!
S. B.
Good food good atmosphere, okay selection of beers but all local
E. G.
Very mixed experience here on Saturday night. Went for a drink and the espresso martini was very nice. However we were sitting next to the bar and a bartender dropped and smashed a glass above my boyfriend's head, with fragments of it hitting him all over. The response from staff didn't seem to be proportionate in our opinion, he was just casually asked "are you okay?" but no one came over or offered to help him get the glass off him and his clothes. I understand accidents happen but we expected a bit more of an apology!
N. R. F.
The best restaurant in the area. Highly recommended when the day is sunny and you can enjoy your outdoor terrace, drinking a beer or an Aperol spritz. It is usually busy so what I would recommend to always make a reservation. The menu is not very big and it is a bit expensive, but the food is delicious with large plates and good quality.
B. C.
Great pub, good outdoor area. Good selection of drinks with good food.
L. O.
Reasonable pub in the middle of suburban London. Good selection of beers, can't comment on the food as I didn't eat there.
Atmosphere was wicked because the rugby was on and Ireland stole the game at the end; shows certain sport.
Had fun with the lads.
G. P.
It's mainly because first thing as I stepped inside I was asked by a drunk client to pay him a beer without your bartender say anything like "do not disturb other clients please" or "it's time to go home now". The food was ok, not great just medium, and the place I was sitting, way away from the front door, had a freezing air drift I had to cover my legs with my jacket. Not a great experience.
M. M.
Great food (the vegan options are satisfyingly naughty), friendly service, love the terrace at the back!
T. G.
My favorite pub in the area, great chilled atmosphere for a nice relaxing drink. Also great food and decent beer selection. Interior is nice too. Garden could be nicer but that's my only complaint!
A. B.
Good food but pricey. Service very poor, three requests before we got a bottle of water and glasses, food order messed up so one person had to wait 10 minutes longer than the rest of us. Disappointing.
R. T.
Excellent food and friendly service.
C.
Beautiful pub and they are dog friendly. Totally my new local, amazing staff and a log fire for the winter with lots of outside, heated space. Menu looks great. That is my next task.
E. C.
Used to be my local but I still pop round now that I moved! The Fentiman is a great pub with an amazing bear garden! Food is good as well, and the pub quiz on Tuesdays really fun. Highly recommend!
R. K.
Very busy before an oval game - 15 minutes to get a drink or more. It is, however, a beautiful looking pub with great beer in a great location, so it's not surprising at all that it's busy. definitely worth a pint here.
C. C.
There was a great beer selection here, including various largers, imported and local ales. The food was traditional pub food, done well. Mac and cheese was delicious!
P. R.
A favourite of mine, recently refurbished so looks even cleaner and brighter but still retaining tons of charm and character. Service is friendly and fast, food is good with a big selection of drinks. Gets busy during weekends especially if the weather is good, especially in the gardens.
M. S.
Traditional pub tucked away, with a nice beer garden and friendly staff.
J. S.
Great selection. Friendly staff and good food. Perfect pub for the area to just relax and catch up with old friends. Shines in the summer with its outdoor area.
M. C.
Very handsome pub..well organized. Good service. Good classic Burger but not include fries. Fish n chips could be better for the price.
J. S.
Great selection. Friendly staff and good food. Perfect pub for the area to just relax and catch up with old friends. Shines in the summer with its outdoor area.
P. K.
Curly fries 😍
J. M.
Good pub. Good food. Service was terrible. I was having dinner with a group of 10 after work.
I would try again in the hope of better service
L. S.
Great customer service. The staff is always friendly and polite. Most of time it's easy to get a seat unless there's a cricket playing in Oval so the pub gets really busy then -but they always cope with it well. Lots of space especially …
C. M.
fabulous beer garden in London, food was refined and a cut above your average pub grub. Staff were friendly and efficient. Get very busy after a match at the nearby Oval, but lovely for a sunny afternoon in the garden if it's quiet.
G. Q.
Food seems to be second to a nice atmosphere and plenty of drinking options. Great spot though. If the food was leveled up in terms of quality this place would be a gem.
A. M.
Good food and great FoH manager. Not cheap but that's London
T. D.
One of the main feeder pubs for The Oval, so you've been warned.
Pre-match days you'll feel like a sardine drinking here. It is tighter than a gnat's batty inside. That said, the crowd attracted is more civillised than the Ancient Egyptians.
Food looked appetising but be prepared to wait dor service and deliery on match days.
Outside of that, an elegant boozer with a highly-regarded beer garden.
S. G.
Definitely worth seeking out. Good beers. Beautiful pub. Lovely staff. Did not eat though, so can't vouch for food
M. R. J.
Excellent pub where you can have lots and lots of ale at reasonable prices. All the food is good but I love the fish and chips. They go great with my beer and I'd recommend them to everyone.
M. R.
Good food and seemed like a nice environment however it was busy so we decided to sit outside (it was cold and raining but there is a covered area with heaters). Service was a little slow and the food took some time to reach us however it was well received. Will likely visit again when in the area.
M. C.
Very handsome pub..well organized. Good service. Good classic Burger but not include fries. Fish n chips could be better for the price.
E. K.
Great local pub with a nice garden
d. p.
A nice relaxed place for a pint, with many great choices and guest taps. The food could be a little better but it's a great local neighborhood pub.
M. K.
Attend on a Surrey cricket night, and the pub will be heaving.Beer is served in plastic glasses, and all 3 real ales were unavailable by 5pm,so only alternative was buying the£5-60 a pint Camden Craft beer!.
Had booked a table to eat in the rear beer garden, which was fine initially,as only people who had booked, were allowed to enter,by the bouncers. However as more and more punters arrived in the pub, this was changed, and the beer garden became packed, heaving with standing drinkers.Making it almost like trying to eat a meal on a rush hour train!.Not enjoyable!.
S. W.
Me and my girlfriends local - we always come and enjoy a lovely dinner here knowing the Fentiman never fails to deliver! Best burger in the area.
A. H.
A buzzing lunchtime atmosphere was a wonderful respite from the snow. Really friendly service, yummy Young’s and very good food. Kids and dogs welcome. 😁
N. L.
Great ambience and atmosphere!
Staff was simply lovely and diligently chatty.. 5 stars altogether
D. M.
Emily is a legend, great advice on what to drink, funny and charismatic. I've lived in London for 18 months and she has given me the best service I have had.
B. W.
Decent pub with beer garden. We went for a function for 100 people and they ran it smoothly with the beer garden booked for just us and the garden bar open to serve us.
N. G.
Nice place but it's way too crowded most of the times. I like eating in peace and being at an acceptable distance from the other tables. However, the staff is very friendly and the menu - rich in meal choices.
C. R.
Nice place, let down by the food. Not the best steak I have ever had, and it was relatively expensive for the quality of the food. Service was very friendly though, and the private room upstairs in great and has its own bar - great for parties.
G. Q.
Food seems to be second to a nice atmosphere and plenty of drinking options. Great spot though. If the food was leveled up in terms of quality this place would be a gem.
M. S.
Good menu, good food, good service.
L.
Go Karting is good fun. The track is on two levels which makes it particularly interesting. The service was a bit slow and we spent sometime unsure of what to do. All in all however it was well worth the trip
E. J.
I live locally and had a bad experience at the beginning of the year, my friends told me to try again and i must say i'm not disappointed i did! This little local has really turned itself around. Great selection of wine and the staff are lovely. I will be coming back!
M. J. P.
Here you'll see a mix of locals and people coming from Vauxhall...
Very cosy and warm decor in a quiet residential area. It gets better during the summer as it has a recently refurbished back garden area (with Kartell chairs, if you into this stuff) with a bbq stall.
Food wise I've tried a roast and it wasn't too bad... Perhaps a bit expensive for a pub.
Usual selection of beers and wines.
L. U. W.
A traditional London boozer, with traditional London (toothless, haggard) customers. Pleasant staff, decent beer, nice atmosphere - definitely a change from your usual Wetherspoons.
J. M.
Beautiful garden to eat and drink in
J. W.
Lovely big garden, great staff, and take covid seriously. Good beer and food but a little pricey (it is London)
B. D.
Great burgers, great atmosphere. Recommended
S. M.
Perfect pub for a weekend catch-up! Lovely garden for when the sun shines, and a homely interiors for chillier days. The pie is delish!
B. A.
Great quiz on Tuesdays. Lovely garden in the summer too. I always think it's a little overpriced for food so I tend to stick to drinks only.
D. S.
Good food and selection of beers. Staff very friendly. Private room upstairs is fantastic. Avoid the quiz night (Tuesdays) - the quiz master is rude and obnoxious (swore at us repeatedly)
N. P.
Served great food at this pub
J. R.
We had a couple pints and a lovely meal of fish and chips, pulled pork mac 'n cheese, followed by treacle tart!! Highly recommend.
S. -.
Always a nice spot to grab a drinks and some food nr Vauxhall. In the Summer the garden is lovely and they often have a BBQ going. Service is good and prices are reasonable.
J. M.
Loved it .Great food and atmosphere .highly recommend.
L. C.
Love this pub! Have moved into the near by area and definitely my new local
A. C.
Whilst staying in the area for a single night, I happened upon this place and was made to feel very welcome. It was a Tuesday night, and their quiz was very well attended, heaps of fun and pleasantly challenging.
k. w.
Really good pub. Excellent food service. Make a point of paying it a visit if you are in the area.
C. T.
Fun pub, a little slow on the service (though it has improved since my last visit) and could do with brushing up on how to pour a pint of Guinness, otherwise nice pub though
M. K.
Nice atmosphere. It has good drink, good food, and a nice beer garden. The pub quiz on a tuesday is great too.
A. M.
Nice cosy local pub with a back garden and more tables in the front. Fresh fish is served. Non fish options also available in the menu.
S. O.
Great food and friendly staff. I will definitely go back.
J. M.
Good pub. Good food. Service was terrible. I was having dinner with a group of 10 after work.
I would try again in the hope of better service
M. H.
It's been a few years since I was last here. Nice to come back - good pub with good beer, if a little expensive 😊
D. S.
A lovely place with a big selection of wine and beers. Food is nice and staff are friendly. Suggested for a night with friends or a dinner with family.
R. C.
Lovely pub in quiet, beautiful street off the beaten track, but pretty much a locals pub. Not that friendly and drinks were ridiculously expensive.
J. G.
Nice pub meal, menu is small but has a variety of food to choose from to meet everyone demands. Staff are nice and friendly.
G.
Ok pub. Staff change really often. I live down the road and feel like I never recognise the people behind the bar from 1 week to the next. Feels impersonal.
G. L.
Great atmosphere and amazing patio in the back with burger bar. Great local spot, solid food menu and generally nice staff!
S. W.
Lively atmos. Good looking clientele. Food looked good. Though I noted instances of fries rather than chips! Overall good place for Friday night beers till midnight.
H. W. (.
Nice pub, neither too modern nor too dressed down, just is what it is. Decent pub quiz on Tuesdays at 8pm, £1 entry, again not too gimmicky.
R. C.
Nice little pub in a quite residential area. Staff are quite friendly. And the pork roast was quite nice and we'll priced.
M. C.
Top steak sandwich and a great range of beers. Awesome team delivering a safe experience.
F. H.
Great local pub with decent food, good private bar area upstairs and beer garden.
S. R.
Comfortable surroundings, spacious beer garden, and hardly ever a wait at the bar. It is very expencive and the food and drinks aren't all that
t. K.
Nice pub close to that oval. Atmosphere was good and thw pub had lots of seats and tables as well as sofas saw an outdoor area even though I didn't use it
D. D.
Gammon knuckle and chips exceeded expectations. Tastier than the 12 pound price tag suggests. Will return for more in the near future.
Good service overall
E. G.
Our favourite Fish & Chips spot!
Sadly current visit let us down by quality of the dish.
Hope it changes soon! See you soon.
S. F.
This is a nice pub and has a good sized beer garden. On some days they even cook burgers out in a hut in the garden which is a fun idea.
E. A.

The Fentiman used to be a regular of mine when I lived in Oval. It's a great place for a beer in the evening or out in their quaint garden in the summer. A must before or after a day at the cricket.
S. F.
Looking for somewhere cosy in the winter, and with a great garden for the summer? You've found it! The food can be a bit hit and miss, and it'll occasionally be crazy busy, but it's a real local highlight.
R.
Great Sunday roast and card games etc to accompany it. Slightly pricy however that goes in line with the quality. Would eat here again.
K. R.

The fentiman arms is an attractive pub nestled amongst large and beautiful Victorian home. A nice sized front patio with two large tables and a couple smaller. On entry the bar is a good size. A cosy and warm atmosphere. Through to the back …
