The Mediterranean themed food is delicious. My wild boar pasta was flavourful and perfectly cooked and perfect on a winter’s night. Special mention also go to the pate. I didn’t have much space for desert but my dining partner managed to squeeze in profiteroles filled with ice cream.
There have a wide and varied selection of various beers and ales, some on tap others bottled/ can.
The staff are friendly and efficient, if somewhat busy serving food and drinks behind the bar.
J.The food was good, I would go if you are in the area. The staff was very nice and the place isn't super crowded either. A nice place for a Sunday afternoon.
A. T.Beautiful pub within a quiet residential area. With a large leafy beer garden at the back this is a perfect spot for a sunny day. It also has an excellent array of gins to enjoy.

The outdoor garden is a little tranquil haven. Nice for an early evening dinner with a friend. The chips are proper chunky ones. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The padron pepper portion was very big, the larger peppers were a little under done. The level of salt and oil was perfect. The Ragu pasta is gorgeous and tasty, done Al dente. The portion size was immense. I did not expect this to be such a foodie spot.
They have a nice draught cider and great wine options. I will be going back!

A. B.I went with a friend a few weeks back, and was extremely impressed by both the food and service. The pub requests that customers wear masks except when seated at the table (it was table service only even back in July and August), which makes me feel safer than I normally would in the pub. The sausages and mash were superlative, and in general the menu and wine list look good, with much ‘traditional gastropub’ food being on the menu. The garden is great in summer, whilst the indoor space has the atmosphere of an ‘old boozer’ whilst still being chic and (importantly!) clean. The food is on the expensive side, perhaps, but 100% worth it. If any pubs are open during the winter months, this is my top tip to make a reservation....!

The pub has a very cosy atmosphere, and is very popular - even mid-week, it was quite full. I would just have liked a more comprehensive choice of food - and I would say that the menu was on the pretentious side. Can't we just have some simple pub food as well as the Spanish / Italian dishes?

B. K.Great pub and good beer , perfect for a drink. However we came for the Sunday roast and it was poor. It was around 20 quid and for me that puts it in the same category as a top quality roast and it fell short. Not very hot , chewy dry potatoes barely any beef that was also dry. Mentioned it to the waitress who offered nothing as recompense. (Bill was around 160 wit drinks and dessert.) Oh well.
M. G.One of the best pub ever! Excellent food, excellent team, excellent decoration. Love this place. Ben, the manager is amazing. The garden at the back is so lovely and you can even go there during cold weather since there are heaters. My favorite place for a comfort and very nicely cooked meal.

C. P.It was reserved to bursting but we managed to snag the only table left. I was very glad we did. The food was gorgeous!
I had the Duck breast on a sweet potato hash, my dinner companion had the pork tenderloin and we shared some sauteed greens. Everything was really well seasoned and cooked.
The staff were lovely too, my mate had to go out for an important phone call just before the food came and one of the ladies came over with a plate to cover his food and keep it warm.
I would definitely eat there again.

E.Had a great Sunday roast here with a group of friends. The staff are super friendly and efficient and the food was good. This is probably the most dog friendly pub I've every been too - you're a bit odd if you don't have a dog with you 😀

J.F&H has approached reopening sensibly (masks when you transit through the pub, pub staff masked at all times, lots of hand gel). Good place to go for a post-Covid pint. And its a lovely pub in any event. Tiny Rebel on tap a nice plus.
S. D.As said, this pub doesn't offer options for the whole table, especially on a Sunday where there is absolutely no veggie/vegan roasts. Pub seems behind with the times if they won't offer a ethical alternative in their Sunday roasts. Leaves some parts of the family out when you're all there to enjoy a festive family lunch on a Sunday. Disappointing but it is a nice pub to have a drink at.
N. B.Service: The service was just excellent. We were 4 adults and a baby and everyone tried to make our stay as nice as possible.
Food: The food was amazing. I had a risotto with sage and mushrooms and it just blew my mind. I tried a small portion of the pappardelle with boar and it was just as good.
W. D.Lucky to have this as my local for the last 5 years. Particularly good in the winter with a real cosy atmosphere, Tribute on tap and a great wine and food menu, which although a bit pricey, has never given a bad experience. On slightly quieter evenings they've even done table service for drinks to save you having to walk 10 steps to the bar which is a nice touch!
P. M.The food at the fox is very very good especially for pub grub and even though its pricey you pay for what you get. The decor and drinks are also lovely (especially in the festive season). Some staff are very nice but some are not! (see if you can work out which...) worth a visit but unfortunately usually its full of yuppies fresh out of the foxtons

R.One of my favourite pubs. Always busy enough to have great atmosphere, but never too busy that you can’t get in. They seem to really pride themselves on having a good beer selection on tap, which is brilliant, and the food is amazing. The cherry on top is the non-plussed cat who hangs around.

N. B.Yes, a Gastro pub is the description. It's very lively with a varied menu and good selection of beer and wines. Have visited on several occasions and would definitely recommend it. Certainly, the best Pub on the Latchmere Road and not far from Lavender Hill.
J. T.I like this place. I have been here many times as my friend lives around the corner. Do some nice ales and they even have Cooper's Ale which is one of my favourites. Beer garden is is is well set up and makes most of the smallish space. Food very good.

D. C.What a great find. We had an hour to kill before an engagement and went to the Fox and Hounds for dinner; we weren't disappointed! One of those few pubs that has managed to get the 'classic English pub' and 'Gastro-pub' combination spot on. The place was warm and welcoming, with friendly and attentive staff. Everything about the place was encouraging; from the four real ales on offer, the real stripped-wood tables, and the interesting and varied menu. With another engagement to make, the food was delivered promptly as requested. Generous portions, good presentation, and absolutely delicious food - I couldn't fault a thing. The fact the pub offers cash-back was yet another benefit as the nearest cashpoint was some walk away. A really warm and welcoming pub, great food, a huge variety of beers and wines, with friendly and helpful staff - 5 ouf of 5.

Comfortable atmosphere and happy staff. Great expierence and the perfect antidote for an otherwise blustery and wet new year's evening.
