N. Y.Lovely pub, good music, good vibes, nice atmosphere, cool staff. We tried the Sunday roast and we enjoyed it a lot. Just by Camden market, but surprisongly, is full of locals and not that many tourists. A Camden gem! When things get better I want to come back to party again!

P. S.We've had a Sunday roast there - the vegetarian Wellington was really good but the the beef option was rather disappointing. It states that they serve their beef medium rare bu mine was more like medium well. Overall a decent enough place.

Plenty of beers and everything else on offer, high ceilings and big windows, a lovely place. Pop in and have a pint. You will enjoy. There is a wonderful upstairs patio and the longest walk to the Gent's ever. It is all good.
J. D.Gem of a pub. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get a drink or decent food in Camden. Full of history, run by very friendly staff and with one of the best fish and chips that I've tried recently. Quiet atmosphere when we visited during the day and ample seating available.

R. N.A busy pub on weekends. Service isn't too bad but in general it can offer a lot better cleanliness and smile. Beers were okay and not crazy expensive considering its proximity to Camden market. It is spacious enough though.

C. A.Probably the best pub in Camden. Full of London music memorabilia, you'll see pictures of local stars pulling pints behind the bar and a host of record covers, playlists, etc... All signed by the artists or band. Also the vibe inside is great. Give it a shot.
T.We were so lucky to arrive right when they opened. It became such an upbeat and popular spot minutes after we settled in. We ordered the Fish and Chips and Scotch Egg. Oh my was it ever THE BEST!! The fish and chips had a light crispy batter, chips was super crispy on the outside, light and fluffy inside (your dream chips) with tangy crisp tartare sauce and perfect mushy peas!! Scotch egg also a must have. Great with drinks. Vibrant, fun vibe also family friendly.
O. L.This pub is such a good address in ehole London. I am in live with Amy Winehouse and of course I had to go there, this was one of her favourite places. The pub opened at 11 or something and I was there already an hour before. They filled up things for the pub and I asked if I can have a look inside and the furniture and the atmosphere there is so cool. So many famous persons have been there but don't think that the pub uses this to increase the prices of the food. The fish and chips comes for 13 pounds and it is extremely good. I was even impressed by the mushy peas. Then a Camden Pale Ale and a apple crumble. Sooo good. But the pub seems to be popular. Shortly after they opened the pub was crowded. So be punctual or reserve.

M.Amazing vibe. Some emo rock star was in the pub on Saturday just gone..singing frddie Mercury songs on the bar. Was pretty cool To see everyone singing along. It reminded me of remnants of the Amy winehouse days.

I like that it is half a block away from the rest of the crazy that is camden. My drink was amazing and the food looked incredible with sizable portions. They have eco friendly earth straws! M.Fantastic food, great staff, super vibe, my new fave place in Camden
M. C.The bar really does pay homage to all the rockstars on its walls - including Amy Winehouse, who was a regular here even after her fame - with its music. While the pub has a great environment with the fairy lights and rose decorations on the windowsills giving it a cozy vibe and all the autographed photos giving plenty of conversation material, it’s hard to actually have a conversation because of the loud music. We went on a Sat night, so not sure how it is during the week.
It is, however, a solid option to grab a drink / shots to get pumped up - esp if you’re into rock and in the neighborhood.

c.Went there in a spur of the moment kind of thing. It was a really nice atmosphere, the place had an upstairs as well as a roof garden seating area, plus the staff were very polite.
My only complaint was the background music started off at a reasonable level, then got progressively louder as the night went on. That said the music wasn't terrible..... it was OK.
Overall a very good evening was had.
I would definitely go again and recommend it as a cool place to check out too.

Looked like there may have been a roof bar but I didn't go up there so I couldn't say for certain.
Mind the step on the way in however there is a small step I didn't notice (I wasn't drunk, I promise!)
K. P. (.This pub is smack in the middle of Camden, yet has a "local" feel over the "tourist" feel. Which is pretty awesome. During the evenings they play some great tunes that aren't too loud, so it's a great place for a pint & chats. The bar staff are very attentive and serve up drinks double quick, so you don't have to worry about waiting for another. Also, there's loads of seating and they're dog-friendly.

h.Great pub with a roof terrace in the heart of Camden Town Market, interior is 'quirky cool' with rockstar framed photographs on the walls. The bartenders are really friendly and chatty. Overall, decent pub with reasonably priced food and drinks a good pub for groups or to just grab a drink alone. I had a good time here.
E. E.Lovely spacious pub with big tables. Sunday roast was delicious but the review is 4 stars because apparently the chef doesn’t like adding Yorkshire puddings to a roast which “shouldn’t have it”. Considering the cost of a Yorkshire this seems bizarre to me. Would go back.

L. P.I visited this place only once and so to grab a beer (quite nice range), i didn't have chance to see the whole place as I stayed at the bar. The staff seemed to be very friendly. Although it was a Tuesday evening it got quite crowded around 8pm. Nice place and would go back.

Only negative would be that not all roasts come with Yorkshire puddings and we couldn't even pay extra for one. I know it's only a minor thing but a Sunday roast without a Yorkshire is just a bit sad!
R. C. H.Lovely pub. Very lively atmosphere. Busy, popular and loud at busy times. Outdoor roof terrace is nice and the road isn't too busy but it stinks of cigarettes given the clientele. A little pricey as its a touristy bit. Said to be Amy Winehouse's favourite.

The burger and chips was really good and the beef was clearly good quality. I would definitely go back for food, if I find myself in the Camden area, and it looks like it would be a decent evening pub too! I've only marked down the decor a bit, as a couple of the chairs looked like they were in need of a bit of TLC.

D. C.Me and a couple of friends (first time to Camden) called in at the Hawley arms in Camden in Saturday night. When we arrived we were met at the door by a very friendly doorman who made us feel very welcome. After a few drinks in the impressive surroundings we unfortunately had to leave. Saying bye to the doorman (Roy) he gave us safe directions back to our hotel. From the warm welcome to the safe goodbye we will be back soon when we return to the area.

Lots of seating and full of local history - it was Amy Winehouses hangout when she was alive, and the toilets have become a graffiti tribute to her. Great atmosphere and the people behind the bar are nice. The food is a little pricey - the "pint of chips" idea is fun, until you realise just how few chips you can get into a pint glass!

M. S.One of the last cool pubs in Camden. I used to frequent the place many years ago, when a raft of locak celebrities used to visit. Amy Winehouse, I recall, used to stop by and do shifts just for fun. Always a great atmosphere, especially in the evening's. The food is also nice, with large honest portions if you feel like visiting during the day.
A casual place, filled with character, it still feels like the sort of place where anything could happen. Lucky to still be there with all the local development. There's a good reason for this! Just check it out for yourself and tell me I am wrong.

And she's not raised a glass in here for a while. that said the pub is definitely better than it was 5 years ago, with fewer people in here just hoping to catch a glimpse. there's often a bald annoying northerner running around, these days he drinks alcohol free beer.

The pub is in the heart of Camden Town opposite the famous market (under the bridge). The interior is quirky with rockstar framed photos on the wall. It was also one of the local pubs for Amy Winehouse! They also often have live music on their roof terrace, which does get crazy busy but is still amazing to watch!

A. W.Actually a decent pub with a nice terrace outside and selection of drinks. Lost a few stars here because of the total shambles around ordering food. The guy taking the order was clueless and seemed happy to try and charge me over £120 for three meals (£12 each) and three drinks. When questioned he shrugged and told me the price is the price. Nice try. I asked to see the bill; cue a ten minute wrestling match between barman and till. Eventually barman was victorious and a more sensible bill appeared. Even after that the order was still wrong and three more bar staff got involved before we all ate. A shame really because they made a decent fish and chips.
C. X.Pub with a lot of history, went to try their Sunday roast and is wonderful. It's basically in front of the Camden Market, so you can wander and shop for a while and rest while eating something and drinking a good pint without going too far.
h. r.What a great bar. I haven't been here for two and half years, I accidentally spilt my full pint and the wonderful manager ( Sylvana) offered me a another gratis with no quibbles. Best music & juke box in Camden too!
D. M.Come on. It’s Docherty, Winehouse and debauchery innit? Well...Camden’s changed. It’s still the Hawley tho. Upstairs is a little less busy, sun terrace excepted. I always have a nice time, but also get the sense that everyone is expecting something a little more. Maybe a chair to be thrown across the bar, or Kate Moss to do cartwheels down the stairs. Although, little secret, that may we’ll be going on in the hidden, private rooms.
