Reviews of The Hereford Arms, South Kensington
L. S.
Can’t recommend this place enough. Staff are super friendly, the interior vibe is cozy and it’s just perfect to have a dinner with friends and relax after a long work day. Food wise I’d recommend trying the beef cheeks👌🏻and to share the raspberry crumble. Next time I’ll try the famous sunday roast surely
J.
Absolutely lovely pub that gives a country/homely feel in the centre of Kensington! We had the specials of the day and they were gorgeous! The Fish was perfectly cooked in both dishes and the sauces and veg were beautiful paired with the fish. Definitely would come back here for food again and for chilled drinks.
E. S. P.
I stopped at the Hereford Arms on a Sunday for aperitif. My experience was lovely. Cosy, warm and well kept pub with good selection of drinks and traditional food menu! My aperol spritz 🍹was fantastic ☺️. I left happy! Thank you! I'll be back and thoroughly recommend.

Had my first ever Sunday roast in The Hereford Arms and it was amazing! I tried the 'Dry-aged sirloin of Owton's beef', veggies were perfectly cooked, the meat was tasty and the yorkshire pudding was so fluffy, I definitely recommend. The staff is also super nice.
K. M.
We were in the area and it had been recommended... great choice. It was busy but not objectionably so. Staff were friendly and helpful. Fish and chips was excellent and a very pleasant pint. Decent value too.
G. N.
Great atmosphere, good service, great selection of drinks and fantastic food (I'd post a pic but it didn't last long enoughlol). I'll be back for sure.
G. H.
A bit disappointing to be honest. Called in for dinner after a visit to the Natural History Museum. I agree with another reviewer...too many of those awful overly hopped craft beers. It would have been nice to have a huge range of actual Fullers beer. Some seasonal winter offerings.
Nothing on the menu for our child; it was all a bit grown up. Not going to spend £12 on a small fish pie or £27 on a steak.
Partner complained about the smell of urine drifting across from the toilets and she near broke her neck on a protruding radiator pipe as she left her seat.
We left after our pint. Nice decor, atmosphere and bar staff though.
K. P.
It’s a lovely atmospheric place for a Sunday roast. My beef was a bit too chewy, but otherwise the food was decent.
R. S.
Best fish & chip until now. Great experience.

We stopped here for a drink after a show at the Royal Albert Hall. The atmosphere was really warm and friendly. Plenty of space to sit good decor and the menu looked really interesting. I would certainly recommend a visit!
S. A.
First visit today and I think I'll be back! Lovely staff, cosy surroundings and delicious food. I had the goat's cheese sandwich ... really scummy (except for the chips) Even the music was a pleasure. Nice place.
A. Q.
The best pub food I’ve had in a while, if not ever. Would highly recommend the fish and chips or the roast, great atmosphere yet so affordable. Will deffo be returning here!
A. G.
Smalll and noisy pub, cosy with good /Sunday roasts. Also has about 10 seats outside as well.
L. A.
Had a great lunch here midweek. The food is a cut above standard pub fayre. I had the confit duck which came with perfectly made dauphinois and red wine sauce, followed by apple crumble. Fuller's are the offering 20% discount in January so lunch for two with a couple pints and service was under £60. My only complaint, applicable to most Fuller's puns in general, is their insistence on having so many revolting craft beers on tap. They do some amazing stouts/porters (London and Black Cab) yet never seem to offer them on draught in their pubs. Either would only have added to what was a great experience.
A. M.
Lovely place! We were very well received and every person of the staff that interacted to us was extremely kind and courteous.
The food was very good too, we ordered the Brisket Pie and the Sweet Potato/Goat Cheese Pie. Totally recommend. They have very good choices in the menu.
Whenever I’m in the area I’m coming back.
M. S.
I can honestly say that this is by far, the best pub that I've been to in London, with a picture of a man being chased by a biplane on the back wall.
The contrast between miserable landlord and very pleasant bar staff is a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended.
L. M. M.
Fish and chips were amazing, buffalo hot wings good but not spicy at all. Varied selection of beers on tap, large selection on bottle. Good prices. Has music, unlike all the other pubs we went to. Service was nice and fast. Wheelchair accessible. Great place to chill after Natural History Museum.
s. d.
One of the best steaks ever. Soft yet well cooked. I must share this: I was in quite a foul mood and decided on going to a restaurant to have some comfort food and oh! How the food (taste) comforted me! Not to mention the kind staff in there - such friendly, kind, caring people. Overall loved the whole experience! Must try.
h. l.
Okay pub, it's not very cosy inside, I feel like it could be better arranged seating wise.
Prices are a little steep.
Good range of food and on tap beer. The staff were really lovely.
I. W.
I regularly come here whenever I'm in town. Tasty food done to a high standard, including the daily specials. Doneness almost always perfect for each respective meat, whether it's beef, pork, lamb, duck or fish. Seasoned well with decent presentation. Cottage pie looks teeny at first, but is bursting with flavour and more filling than expected. And of course, the sticky toffee pudding is a balanced, fragrant treat. You'd probably be happy with anything you order, really.
They used to have Honeydew Lager on tap, which was my initial main reason for coming, but now they only have it in bottle. Maybe it wasn't popular enough, or maybe Asahi having bought over Fullers had something to do with it. Frontier Ale's my current go-to.
N. Y.
Been here a couple times when in the area. Both times were great. Really nice staff. Service was quick and the food was very good. Nice atmosphere and just down the road from the tube station. Not far to walk to the natural history/science and V&A museums. Will definitely return
L. D.
A very nice pub with acceptable food and nice wine selection
G. M.
Pub in posh part of Kensington opposite Hereford Gardens - unsurprisingly drinks are dear. My tiny 20ml bottle cost £9.50! The food menu is an eclectic mix of signature dishes and club sandwiches for lunch. I can recommend the chickpea salad.
L. M.
Excellent Sunday roast. Place wasn't too busy. Service was quick. I had the roast beef and the staff were happy to replace the cauliflower cheese, I hate cheese, with more veggies. The dining area is a fairly standard back of pub area but it was fine especially with the quality of the food
J. P.
Superb Sunday roast, let down by dessert. I could not fault the main course (roast beef); a generous portion of delicious beef, served promptly with a range of well prepared vegetables and trimmings. Sadly, two of us ordered the cheesecake for dessert, only to discover that the accompanying salted caramel ice-cream had gone off (it was not right, despite the suggestion below that it is an acquired taste). The staff did not initially deal with it well, asserting that it was within date and should not have done us any harm. They replaced it with vanilla ice-cream (all they had), itself slightly dubious (chunks of ice in one of them - so the response from the pub is, I'm afraid, unconvincing) and had to be asked to swap the plate. To be fair, they did provide coffee on the house as recompense, but it seems as though the freezer needs checking and some aspects of hygiene and serving need bringing up to scratch.

This is a lovely pub- I went to another just up the road but it had belting music and bar staff who were studiously ignoring the 8 folk waiting. So I left. What a good decision, the Hereford Arms has excellent beer, a lovely ambience and helpful pleasant bar staff. Genuinely impressed.
R. F.
Best Fish and chips ever tasted and served within 20 minutes, accommodated my partner who's vegan with no hassle, fantastic place, and nice atmosphere
M. T.
Got here after playing football in the Hyde park, and it was a perfect stop to wait the rain to stop. Good atmosphere, selection of beers and helpful staff. I brought a sandwich of my own and the waiter allow me to have it, since I had purchased the beer already. Very understanding, different than other places in London. Will definitely come back, highly recommend.
J. G.
Service was really good. Food was ok but think I may not have made the best choice as my friend really enjoyed hers. Nice ambiance.
A. M.
Excellent food - very professional waitress knowledgeable- tell you what to have if you very hungry or not very hungry- if you're vegetarian or vegan. I was so impressed with service
D. W.
Called in for a quick pint with a colleague while down in London on business in January 2020.
Seemed a very nice pub, clean and tidy, and with a good welcome on arrival from the bar maid. Although it was a Friday early evening and starting to get busy we still managed to get a table.
The pub had a good vibe to it, and the beer tasted good. Although we didn’t have food, the menu looked inviting.
Its proximity to the Gloucester Road tube station and local hotels was also ideal.
Would recommend, and would call in again if passing through.
L. A.
Not much of an assortment on Sunday. Very busy, hard to find a table. Food good. A bit expensive
H. a. B. R.
A friendly pub with a mixed clientelle, a good atmosphere and fine choice of drinks.
P. D.
Enjoyed a quick lunch here. Sausage sandwich and chips was very tasty, if a little expensive (for a northern lad!) at £10. Fullers beer was well kept and fresh. Would recommend.
P. S.
Been here a few time over the years. A little quieter than the Stanhope arms which is down the street. Food is better as well. Nice place to spend an afternoon.
Only one problem. My glass always seems to have a hole in it. The London Pride leaks out too fast along with the ESB
M. A.
We visited London in Oct 2018 and came here twice. The food is fantastic, as are the drinks. The atmopshere is cozy and the watiers are friendly. We will be back the next time we're in London.
n. d.
Really nice place with amazing food. Close to the National museum! My brother got burger and he loved it. I got fish and chips, it was delicious but the portion would be enough for two! If you aren't a big eater maybe consider sharing it.
D.
Lovely fullers pub, have a great selection of beers as well as fullers classics like frontier. I'd highly recommend Sirens Shockwave ipa.
T. K.
We liked this place so much, we went twice. One of the best fish n chips we had during our time here and very friendly staff. We also had the cottage pie which was very good as well. Good beer/cider selection and comfortable seating.
E. M. S. D.
Amazing fish and chips! Lovely service, lovely food, good selection of beers :) a go back place ^_^
M. N.
I don't usually go for Sunday roast, but glad I did. Roast chicken was excellent and good selection of beers too.
R. T.
Popped in on the off chance to eat, table for two straight away (early Friday eve, so very lucky). Great fish and chips with some New Zealand bottled beer to wash it down. Attentive friendly staff.
G. M.
Best scotch egg in town and always a good pint of frontier beer.
S. W.
Good pub food. Not gastropub-pretentious, but definitely not microwaved! Friendly, efficient staff.
Y. R.
really nice place and great service. Food was really quick to serve. The waitress was really nice and helpful, they are always happy to help and the portions are really big!.
J. S.
Friendly service, good roast and lovely space. Need more gravy on the roasts and the mac and cheese needs more flavour but we weren't there for the mac and cheese so still a thumbs up!
J. D.
Tasty beef roast and large portions. Thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday roast lunch. The pub has a nice atmosphere and friendly service.
J. U. L. D. d. L.
Delicious fish and chips, awesome and friendly service. I saw it as I was looking around for something to eat near the historical museum. Very cozy at the back it's a really cool place to be.
J. R.
This is THE BEST ROAST ive had since living in the area. Reasonable price but I'd pay more it was that good. And still a proper pub. TRY IT
D. B.
Nice pub. Great food and beer. Really helpful staff moved tables and bookings around so that 3 big groups all could enjoy their time there.
A. M.
Love it here. Got the fish and chips (delicious) and my husband had the burger with bacon and gouda. Got a great seat by the fireplace. So cozy 💕
M. H.
Brilliant meal, 2 guys serving were very friendly. They made everyone feel welcome.
M. H.
The fish melts in your mouth, and tartar sauce and the peas taste great.
R. B.
A favorite pub with a great local crowd. Excellent beer selection and good mix of traditional English fair and some unique dishes.
D. T.
A chilled out venue on Gloucester road, plenty of space and outside seating. Gins are the thing here. Friendly easy going place.
D. M.
Great pub beautiful flowers on the front and great beers and food, staff really attentive and polite, definitely recommend
U. C.
Really convenient for Gloucester Road tube. A nice homely pub with a welcoming atmosphere.
D. B.
The Hereford is the same as other British pubs in the area offering food and drink. It is a Fullers pub and has hand pulled beers and lager on tap. Beer costs about £5 and between £10 and £20. There is a small seating area outside
R. S.
Excellent pub with exceptional service....bar snacks are unbelievable. Try the squid!
J. G. L.
Nice food and drinks. Lovely atmosphere. Quite pricy as the area
A. H.
Had high hopes... They were helped by the Red Fox ale but torn apart by the £27 steak... Was too hungry to return but some of our table did.
m. d.
Typical pub. Nice. Good people. Great food. London at its best. Recommend Salt and Pepper Squid. Beef Burger also ok. And Fish and Chips.
R. H.
Friendly bar staff, decent mix of premium beers, clean and well kept.
P. B.
Friendly and attentive staff , great food what more could you ask for
A. P.
Great selection of beers in nice surroundings. Will be back soon...
C. D.
Got dropped here by a black cab driver after escaping somewhere else dismal and desperate for a pint before heading home. Friendly, funny and welcoming staff made me wish it was my local! This is NOT was I was expecting near Gloucester Road. So big thanks to the cab driver and Molly and colleagues for rescuing our evening out ...
V.
Nice friendly staff however very small portions for what we paid for to have lunch.
K.
Very busy but the food was excellent, definitely book if you go here
L. M.
They have a wide selection of beers and very good food.
J. R.
Great food good drinks choices. Excellent staff very friendly and a lovely welcoming atmosphere.
G. O.
Came across the Hereford yesterday after a nearby visit to cinema. Great Fuller's beer. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us which has left a lasting good impression. Will be going again when next in the area.

I used to come here every week pre-Covid; I live in a different part of the country but often stay in a nearby hotel for work. The Hereford Arms was always good and my pub of choice for atmosphere, great food and a brilliant range of craft beers. It was always packed but I never felt out of place for working on my laptop amongst the more jovial people.
My local work restarted recently and I came straight back here. It was superb - the staff were friendly, welcoming and just lovely - it felt like coming to a friend's house for dinner. They had a great range of special meals but I ended up having the exact same dinner two nights in a row because it was so good (chicken schnitzel - like none I have every tasted). I was really pleased they hadn't trimmed down the selection of draft beers or wines (lots of pubs have done this due to reduced demand) and this added to the experience.
Finally, I know in-app ordering is creeping into just about everywhere but I really liked ordering with staff at the table; if you have to eat out alone so much then the personal contact, especially when it's so friendly, can really make a positive experience. I can't wait to come back.
P. R.
Friendly and helpful staff combined with Great food, great choice of drinks, and impeccable taste in music makes this pub a gem of a place to visit
D. M.
Proper pub fine ales and lovely food.
I. 5.
Good food, all like in real English pub.
B. G.
Great place! Got a table really quick on a busy BH Sunday and the roast was impeccable
E. G.
My family and I had a great lunch here last Sunday and cannot rate the service highly enough! We even left a scarf behind and received a voicemail soon after leaving the pub from a lovely member of staff.
Delicious food and great vegetarian options. I had the tastiest sweet potato pie. I'll be coming back very soon.
Thank you!
S. S.
Good food and drinks. Only drawback is that it's hard to have a conversation due to all of the conversations around you
J. H.
This is a great pub, with well prepared, tasty food. Lively atmosphere, extremely popular with locals and tourists alike. We enjoyed our first meal there so much that we went back for a second visit but the table side of pub was fully booked for the evening so we made reservations for our final night in London. So glad we returned because we had another great meal. I enjoyed fish and chips for second time there and on second visit my husband had an amazing burger. Shared a slice of warm apple pie topped with Fuller's cinnamon ice cream. Delicious!

Hello the Hereford Arms, please disregard my first review I managed to mixed up a visit to a garden of remembrance with a visit to the Hereford Arms.I highly recommended a meal and drink in this first class pub with a lively friendly atmosphere and professional services .
C. S.
Good pub food, nice atmosphere, staff friendly and a good location.
s. p.
Loved the mix platter of wings and fish and chips. It was amazing.
P. W.
Service was good, Guinness was fine. Very clean, had a dessert whilst there, totally lush.
Only thing that stopped it being a 5 star for me was the decor a bit generic.
D. o. S. N. H.
Lovely place, great food and excellent service.
S. A.
Best fish & chips I've had, great scotch eggs, chocolate dessert!
H. M.
Service here was exceptional, extremely friendly and personable, though it did take a while to be seated. A very respectable selection of wines, beers and spirits. Sweet potatoes fries with sweet chilli a must try. Each fry is huge and beautifully prepared.
My companion and I ordered pheasant and mushroom risotto. The pheasant was cooked beautifully, I especially enjoyed creamed sprouts and bacon. Very well put together. My lunching partner did say she found the blue cheese in her risotto a little too salty and overpowering, but not so much that she didn't finish her bowl with satisfaction.
Would come again, especially for the friendly atmosphere.
K. P.
Good selection of beers and wines! Great bar snacks too! I've been coming here for the past 10 years and it still continues to one of my favourite watering holes! Absolutely superb service. My wine was a bit 'off' but the barman happily refunded and replaced it with a chilled beer! Brilliant service!
D. N.
Good pub. Big room, refurbished but still some hints of times past (look at the ceiling!). Fullers pub - so Pride & the usual others on handpump. Food menu looked good, with major mains at about £15 and smaller meals around £10. It's never going to be cheap in this area. Pleasant staff, nice, warm room - I recommend this pub.
M. H.
Excellent work from the staff. Took all required precautions, great table service. Despite London beginning to emerge from lockdown, its nice to see pubs and the staff running things well. Great work guys!
E. G.
Nice pub! The fish and chips is excellent and their beef roast (on Sundays) is delicious. The staff is very friendly and courteous. They have a very interesting choice of beers, gins and wines. I will definitely go back there on my next trip to London.
J. D.
A proper pub. Not ridiculously busy for a Friday night-but don't let that fool you; half the patrons are outside enjoying the evening. The staff are well informed on the beer selection. My server recommended a fabulous ale/lager that I wouldn't have normally gone for (I love a good stout). Excellent burger-very flavorful. I'll probably be back before I leave London!
U. S. A. J.
This has the feel of a local pub but all sorts of people come and hang out. It has the typical or regular crowd as well as people who just walk in because the place looks so welcoming. The staff is helpful and very professional and it is a great place to hang out either alone or with friends.
If you're a smoker you'd be happy to know that the shaded nooks outside for smokers also have heating so you won't feel like you've walked out in 0 degree weather each time you feel like having a cigarette. Wonderful place with friendly people.
M. O.
Delicious fish n chips and friendly service. Showed up at 9:45pm and they happily seated us and took full dinner order despite the official kitchen close at 10pm. The fish n chips was definitely a cut above the standard pub's quality, especially considering the late hour.
B. B.
We visited twice during our stay in London and we booked a table in advanced for both. I would recommend booking a table as it’s a pretty popular place. The food was great and they can accommodate gluten free diets. They also have gluten free beer and ciders available. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive.
S. E.
A very lovely pub with great atmosphere.
Beer and cider was good and the fish'n'chips were the best I've had so far.
My fiance had the chef's signature japanese chicken burger and her verdict was "delicious" too.
R. G.
Booked a table for a roast pub lunch on a Sunday before heading to the Natural History Museum nearby - our group had the Lamb and the Chicken and both were really good. The lamb was on-the-bone, although it was falling off it (in a good way!) and the chicken was definitely not dry. Yorkshire puddings very tasty too (slightly sweet?). Service great.
Highly recommend booking, as it was slightly amusing (sorry) watching people come in without bookings and being turned away - full house.
D. C.
Great friendly pub. Very clean toilets. Food looked very good.
C. D.
1st time in London and first dinner I've had. The fish and chips we're good although the chips we're probably the weak point of the dish. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was amazing. Extremely moist and flavorful. Was a very busy night so ate at the bar so there was a lot going on around me. Would definitely go again
A. A.
Amazing fish and chips and really friendly staff 💕
K.
Good roast. Nice efficient and helpful staff.
C. D.
Lovely staff and a great selection of food. Ideally located if you are visiting the museums in South Kensington.
H. S.
I had the fish and chips and it was perfect. The atmosphere is great as well. Good selection of beer. Staff were helpful and friendly. Only wish they had more outside seating.
R. L.
Great food and amped-up atmosphere. There's a section with rough-hewn wooden tables for an authentic pub feel and an entire other section with lots of standing room for people who've popped into the pub for a pint. The food was soooooo good (we weren't fans of the lamb liver though...it was obviously well-cooked and generously portioned, but smelled super duper bloody and we ended up chucking it...goodbye to 14 pounds). The service was fantastic (especially given how busy the pub was on a Friday night) and the young man who took our orders was exceptionally patient with all of our questions. We ordered the sharing platter for appetisers and the pakoras were deliciously spicy (not chilli spicy). The mushroom pasta was delicious too, but if you prefer bolder flavours you'd best be picking something else. The fish and chips were good and we loved the mushy peas. The bangers were fat and juicy and piled atop a heaping mountain of yummy potato mash. The cheesecake for dessert was all right, definitely decent and worth eating, just nondescript in flavour. Nothing to shout about, but good enough to polish off. We were in London for a few days and looking for a classic english pub experience and Hereford just nailed it for us. We'll be back the next time we're in the capital!
L. V.
This is a lovely bar/restaurant just a short walk from Gloucester Rd station. Lovely setting with outdoor curb seating. This bar gets very busy but we always found a seat. A good range of drinks were on offer. The staff are polite and welcoming. There is a good Menu and the food was delicious. I can recommend the Roast on a Sunday. I would highly recommend this pub for a nice catch up with friend or family of any age.
E. R.
Well thought out organisation for COVID, with lots of sanitising points. Staff were all very friendly and funny. The food was lovely and not over priced at all. We brought a birthday cake and they very kindly provided a knife and side plates for us too. Would definitely return.
k. m.
Excellent food. Excellent drinks. Stayed 4 nights in London, ate there twice. Great pub. It was close proximity to our hotel. Great place for a beer after a day of sightseeing.
R.
Great, really good value. Good food, great service, highly recommend
K. B.
Nice place where we enjoyed a tasty burger and fish&ships😉
S. S.
We had our Christmas office lunch there. Very nice and cosy pub, very nice meal although a bit pricy bit I think it is ok considering the area. Service was all good on time. Portions were good. Only downside is where we sat we were next to the toilets. Although it was clean the odour coming outside was very disturbing. So avoid sitting close to the toilets.
Y. S.
Nice country-style pub with a great range of beers & friendly staff. Very busy early evening but managed to squeeze onto a seat later. Good food too with a small area outside like a cattle pen on the street for smokers & those who like fresh air. Been to this pub quite a few times.
M. G.
Great beer selection and the streak and mushroom pie was really tasty. Very friendly and helpful staff. No complaints.
Ž. S. M.
Loved the food and the pub-ish ambiance
D. W.
The food in London pubs can be very hit or miss. This place is definitely a hit. Had a delicious dahl cauliflower curry and my friend had fantastic fish and chips.
Everything was really great!
C. N.
Beautiful pub with delicious food and a big variety of beers!
S. A.
Had to wait for a table in bar as we hadn't booked but was well worth it. Fabulous lunch, the roast beef was superb. Also extremely engaging staff, very helpful and pleasant young men. What an enjoyable experience.
j. w.
We arrived on a Sunday evening a few minutes before the kitchen closed, and were received warmly. Great burgers. Good beer. Friendly service. Good soup ... albeit a little cold when it arrived. Would happily go back.
N. Z.
You have to get the burger with gouda cheese and bacon!! They only cook it well done here so I was worried about it being dry, but it wasn't. Very juicy and so flavorful!! It's in my top 3 burgers I've ever had - well done, Hereford Arms!
J. M.
Visited as part of a group of 6 adults 2 toddlers in highchairs and a babe in arms. Waiting staff were all lovely, bar one, and the food was really good.
The only downfall was no baby change facility. Most members of staff tried to come up with a solution, but one member of staff spoke as if the younger members of the group were an inconvenience and said we couldn't change the baby in the areas that we're suggested by other staff. Really changed the mood of what had been a lovely meal. I think the pub should let people know when booking and requesting highchairs, that there are no baby changing facilities as it states disabled access on website, so we assumed there was a disabled toilet. Really not impressed with the manner and tone of member of staff who had final say on the situation.
C. A.
Ate here twice, we ordered the burgers and the cottage pie the first night which was delicious. The 2nd time we ordered the fish and chips best we've ever had, outstanding mushy peas and the most tasty starters! Enjoyed with several Honey dew beers. And for dessert sticky toffee pudding!!!! Looking forward to going back🤗
Our host was very friendly, the only drawback is that it fills up fast so get there early!
K. D.
The best pub food I've ever eaten. I had the buffalo wings to start, tomato ragatoni for main and raspberry posset for pudding. My partner had scotch egg, then cottage pie and sticky toffee pudding. I can't describe how delicious they all were, especially the posset (the best dessert we've ever tasted!). Massive compliments to the chefs for an exceedingly tasty menu at affordable prices. The atmosphere here is also lovely, definitely one to come back to!
J. W.
Amazing period public house in the center of London. Wonderful hospitality and service. Food was first class and deserts were to die for. Cost was standard for London but of high quality and presentation. Wheelchair access was available with a ramp.
G. V.
Was visiting a friend who lives around the corner and he suggested we meet for a pint before dinner. Seemed like a nice group of locals and we were able to squeeze outside behind the velvet rope. Beer was good and I think the waitress charged us 5£ for two pints. Sounds good to me!!!
T. O. D.
The Hereford Arms is a lovely pub that serves delicious food and the perfect pint. Staff are friendly and on hand to help. Ideal for after work drinks, client entertainment or just a quick one or two.
G. C.
Delicious food, good atmosphere and a good variety of options across the food and drinks menu. Looking forward to returning.
A. M.
Good food good beer and good atmosphere.

Might be the best pub in the area. The waiting times to get served at the bar are a bit suboptimal but the atmosphere is great and place is clean and relatively spacious. Also I've always managed to find space to sit so not extremely overly crowded.
G. R.
Lovely pub, great atmosphere. Middle upper class. Very few rif-raf. Decent selections of alcohol. Friendly staff. Very tasty food. Don't order Sharing platter though as it's highly over priced! Will definitely visit again.
C. F.
Food was fantastic, unfortunately got sat right by the door so it was freezing every time the door opened, which was often. Service was incredibly slow, didn't have time for pudding and we were there two and a half hours. Toilet bins where overflowing with paper towels.
r. k.
This place has really good food at fairly reasonable prices. A good selection of beers, both on tap and in the bottle. The bartender was very friendly, and when I told him I am American, he recommended a beer that he thought I would like. He was right.
D. L.
Lovely smiling and helpful staff. Great selection of drinks and gluten free beers. Boiling hot and smelt of vinegar. Such a shame they cant open a window to let some fresh air in. Toilets need a regular check too as were no up to scratch!
R. L.
Great staff, good food, fun atmosphere. Becomes really loud at night, locals come after work and it's standing room only. But the serve Renegade on tap, the best IPA I've found in London.
K. K.
Great atmosphere! The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and presented well. I definitely would recommend this restaurant for anybody wanting an authentic local pub.
M. R.
After long day in the National museum we decided to visit the place. It is a bit off from tourist tracks but worth of it. The staff is friendly and helpful, service fast and food felt like freshly done. For me it was surprisingly pleasant place for a lunch. Also not not too expensive. 2x fish and chips, 2 beers and 2x juice only 51 GBP.
R. C.
Service was incredible...food was incredible...lovely atmosphere...would definitely recommend
A. T.
Reviewing as a new Mum: such amazing food, super helpful staff. Need to book restaurant - can eat in bar area but could only get max 1 buggies per 2 people in pub space. Find out if a big game is on if you don’t want noise. Clean bathrooms, no obvious changing area (didn’t ask for AccessibleWC however). Also no high chairs offered in bar space.
C. B.
The Hereford Arms is one of my favorite pubs in London. The food is exceptional in my view. I really enjoy the decor as well. It's usually busy and it can be a challenge to get a table, but it's well worth the wait. The fish and chips are amazing. Give it a try!
M. P.
Of all the places I visited during my stay in London this place had the best fish and chips (and I went to several places including all of the top rated spots). The atmosphere was really cool and laid back. Also had lots of great draught beer options.
C. C.
One of my favourite pubs in London. Excellent atmosphere and funky decor with Alfred Hitchcock posters on the back wall. The location makes you feel like you're one of the locals!
A. P.
Decent food, apart from the bolognese pasta from the kids menu; pasta was way too overcooked and sauce very dry.
The roast was good but not many vegetables coming with it.
I didn't like the wine; it was a rioja but I don't remember the winemaker.
Atmosphere is nice and staff friendly.
C. H.
Roast dinner was absolutely delicious.
I was able to have pheasant for the first time and certainly was NOT disappointed. They say your first time is make or brake on whether you will like it for the rest of your life. Well it was certainly make at the Hereford arms. I'd have it again.
Went on a Sunday. Was really busy but they still managed to accommodate the four of us with prompt cheerful service.
D. C.
Really nice dinner, I had the beef burger and fries my wife had fish and chips, both were excellent and the drinks were cold. Very nice atmosphere as well as friendly staff.
L. H.
Great atmosphere. A great mix of locals and travelers. Get there before 7.00pm as it is popular and gets very busy any night of the week. Food is great pub food and a good selection of beer. Staff is always helpful, curteous, and always on the move.
P. G.
I have been using The Hereford for some years and I. Cannot give this lovely pub enough recommend action. Great atmosphere, great beer ( London Pride) and good food. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Try it you won't be disappointed.
J. Z.
This pub can be very crowded during summer and for good reason. A great collection of beer (especially Fullers) and some of the best pub dining experiences. My preferred place to eat and drink when I am nearby.
D. S.
Excellent meal. Friendly and efficient staff. Really tasty and well cooked Hampshire black pudding scotch egg starter. Had "trout" crab hollandaise main. Other than finding out that trout is salmon in England, everything was great. Highly recommended!
A. S.
We went for a Sunday roast and the food was excellent with good portion sizes. Lovely pub and the staff very friendly.
R. B.
Great pub and great food
E. S. S.
If I'm honest I was working in the area in clean but ugly workman's wear all though the free house looks amazing and the setting was very inviting. The manageress came across unwelcoming and referred me away to the Nero coffee shop few doors down as I was after a coffee to go. Just my observations I would recommend not to do this in the future.
I would have visited again perhaps with friends or family. However after this unique situation as it was a request and I understand perhaps they don't offer this option. Maybe they should.
I will not visit again just on the unwelcoming attitude of the manageress not to cater for a kind request
G. C.
Gastropub style, friendly service., not the cheapest but nice food... No bangers and mash 😢
R. R.
Food was excellent. COVID-19 Precautions were spot on. REAL Caesars salad with REAL anchovies. Raise a glass to Alfred Hitchcock. He frequented the place.
i. v.
one of the best pubs in Gloucester Road! Genuine English food, generous portions and bar tenders who are always willing to go to the extra mile for you - whipping up drinks off the menu at your request!
T. B.
Delicious Sunday roast but the highlight was the sticky toffee pudding
A. P.
We came in as a recommendation from our tour guide (Graham with Golden Tours, a fantastic guide), and had the duck special and the cottage pie. The duck was good, but the cottage pie surpassed excellence and has been the single best thing I've eaten so far in this country. I also enjoyed the selection of ciders they have, particularly the ginger beer and the strawberry-lime for my girlfriend (though I did drink half of it). Definitely coming back during our short stay in the country to enjoy the establishment more thoroughly.
F. A.
We had a great time at the Hereford Arms. We visited with a large group of middle-aged Italians looking for a proper pub experience, and we couldn't have chosen a better spot: the staff was incredibly efficient, caring, patient and very sweet, and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!
J. C.
Our concierge recommended this place on our first night in London. We were treated very well, even for a couple of yanks. The food was very good and the atmosphere was also nice. My only complaint was that they were unable( or unwilling) to show football matches on TV. For that we went to the Stanhope Arms and thoroughly enjoyed the match
T. v. D.
The Sunday Roast was perfect. A nice pub in a beautifull part of London.
B. D.
Meh, I've been here several times, the food is pretty good and it's a nice atmosphere. But the place is a bit dirty, and the staff are inexperienced. Didn't pour Guinness correctly, spilling drinks as they hand them to you, that sort of thing.
Z.
Nice atmosphere and great food 👌🏻
P. O.
This lovely traditional pub is so close to my layover hotel and yes, I've been in a few times before now. But, I am becoming a "regular" because of the great gastro-pub eclectic and delicious food and the traditional atmosphere. I have been pleasantly impressed with my last few visits. It is so much more than "Fish & Chips" ,but I'm sure it's wonderful too.
Thanks & Cheers Hereford Arms! See you again soon. P. Olmes American Airlines Flight Attendant
R. H.
Excellent food and very welcoming staff. Pub food taken to a new level. We will come back next time we are in town.
S. G.
Lovely pub, great food
T. G.
Kind and attentive staff serving delicious food. We had the gnocchi and fish & chips, and I recommend both. The venue is also great, authentic and well maintained.
M. S.
Incredibly helpful staff. It's busy and loud in the evening but still feels small and the drinks and food come fast. Classic bar options with a gourmet twist making it a truly wonderful pub experience.
A. G.
Really nice pub in Gloucester Road area. Good food and good choice of beer in a nice atmosphere. The Sunday roast is quite substantial and tasty, and the liver parfait is yum!
T. Z.
Came here after a long day battling the tourist scene in the rain and it was the perfect way to finish it. Service and food was great. Busy place on a Friday but we made reservations and had no wait. Definitely recommend.
F. P.
A beautiful pub a few steps away from Underground station Gloucester Road. A lot of locals, less tourists.
Friendly staff but beers and food is mostly equal to other pubs. #probeergourmet
M. M.
Delicious food. Great range of drinks. Buzzing and busy, but staff are relaxed and friendly. Highly recommend this pub !!!
l. t.
Newly refurbished it's a pretty nice little pub, not amazing, but great for a little relax after some museums and wandering. Some great interior details, and they serve Sipsmith gin, so thumbs up for me. Lots of space for small and bigger parties too, and slightly off the beaten track so not amongst touristville.
N. P.
Cool place to have a beer. Tables are ancient sewing machines which is different. Toilets are very clean and have a great detail, moisturising cream for hands.
Beer is available in many brands and price is within expectations.
P. M.
Excellent pub! Beef pie and fish n chips were terrific. Toffee pudding was outrageous. Chatted with some fun peeps from the area.
D. R.
Interesting pub and restaurant in a lovely part of town. Busy on a Thursday evening but was served quickly. Friendly staff, very knowledgeable. £6.45 for a pint of Renegade. I didn’t stay for the second.
j. k.
Great atmosphere. Might want to consider making a reservation unless you plan to eat before the rush round 730pm. Fish and chips was good. Curry was Ok. Servers were nice!
S. C.
Wonderful place. Highly recommended. Friendly and welcoming staff and great menu choice. Food served quickly and very nice. Great range of drinks. Thankyou
A. B.
Can recommend!
Have been in london 2 times and have eaten here several times. Great staff and really good service, good food and honey dew♡ ( they have more good beers :) )
b. P.
Excellent food. Very friendly service. Value for money.
A. D.
Nice place but my Guinness wasn't that great.
M. A.
It was very nice. Good food and drinks good but minus a star because it was the most expensive pub we went to during our holiday. Everywhere else we went to was just as good but much less.
H. K.
Friendly and atmospheric pub, with good food. Had fish’n chips, and it was excellent! A bit noisy, if you are looking for a more calm place to have a good chat.
J. W.
Good food, cheerful service, nice beer
S.
Easily my favorite pub in the Kensington area. Great place to stop for pub grub and dessert. Also sports a comfortable lounge area to have a pint. Mind that this is a Fullers pub, so the taps are great!
g. y.
Great pub! The food was very tasty, with a great selection. The staff was very kind and attentive. Definitely recommend.
M. G.
After 4 hours on the train, to walk in to a good old London pub, sat at a nice table, very good pint on beer, good honest food and a smile from the waitress, what more could you ask for, see you again.
C. S.
Good food with a proper dining area, wasn’t your traditional pub but good if you’re looking for something a little more fancy.
K. P. (.
A bit more expensive than London prices, but this put is tucked far enough away from the tube that it's not crowded with tourists and is an excellent hiding place to relax with a pint after a long day at the nearby museums. The bar tenders are also incredibly nice and friendly.
S. S.
Nice food, big portions. The service is good and the prices are totally reasonable. There really isn't much for outdoor seating, so don't expect to be able to sit outside.
C. H.
My absolutely favorite pub in London. Awesome food. Try the honeydew ale! Also: reservations are a must in the evenings if you want a table.
E. A.
Really nice atmosphere. Food and drink was average price for London (and the food was good - not excellent, but good). Very nice, chilled atmosphere.
L. J.
Just had a great lunch, hot salmon salad Nicoise, friendly efficient staff. Highly recommended. Good coffee too. If you are anywhere near South Kensington/Gloucester Road great place to have lunch.
J. B.
Bit pricey but it is London after all. Food was lovely as was the service. Would highly recommend as a place to eat out. Booking in advancepainlessly easy on the internet. Four stars only because of price, otherwise would have been five.
R. B.
Just had a great lunch - lovely shepherds pie, brilliant staff, friendly and efficient service, everything spotlessly clean and tidy. Now definitely our 'local' for pub lunches in the Gloucester Road.
s. o.
Fantastic place to have beer
T. U.
Nice traditional pub, not too busy, good selection of food. I had a sandwich which was a good portion. Would drop in again.
S. S.
Visited here before going to the royal Albert hall. Great pub very welcoming. Food was lovely real home made charm. Brilliant find x
T. S.
Great pub with an extensive list of real ales on tap. Expensive food. Overly busy on Friday evenings, which you would be best advised to avoid!
T. T. M. S.

A. K.
Lovely place, friendly and good atmosphere good pint 👍
I. J.
Lovely staff, a little bit more concerned with closing than service
A. N.
Fullers has done a good job with this one. Food is always above average. It gets very crowded quickly, so book a table if you are wanting to have dinner .
A. M.
A well appointed local pub with a decent menu. Fish and chips and a pint of larger here is highly recommended! So is the burger mind you.
D. R.
only had dessert and drinks but wish we had time for dinner here. frenchman who served us was outstanding. better ambiance than pub a block north.
K. M.
A nice pub located within easy walking distance of Gloucester Road and South Kensington tube stations. The interior of the pub is well kept and the food and drink on offer are good.
K. N.

Food was good..... beer was cold.... bathroom was clean.... seat was a little pokey, but that's ok..... bartender and server were very nice. That's all I need for a good time.
J.
Pricey, mediocre food but a good atmosphere. A fairly typical slightly upmarket London pub. You're better off going to the Queens Arms down the road.
R. H.
Great food. Great staff. Great venue.
P. K.

Went there just once for a pint of Guinness. Cosy and makes you feel safe.
