Reviews of The Old Star

A great little pub that serves a decent pint and the chicken wings are great! I popped in as I was stopping at the hotel across the road. It’s situated opposite St James Park Underground, it was a really busy vibrant place on the Friday but was closed on the Saturday for some reason!

Surprisingly nice pub. You have to get in, grab a drink and enjoy the interior.
There is more space downstairs, and it is great for dining.
Very close to St. James station
A Greene King pub. You can either use their app, or or ask staff for your orders.

Nice pub not too far from St James Park. They have a large selection of beers and spirits. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was good too. Fish finger sandwich I had was very good

Positioned just across from St James's Park tube station, a lovely boozer, serving great food. Definitely one of those city pubs that radiates a friendly, locals type of atmosphere where all are welcome. The bar manager was friendly and easy to talk to. She answered my questions, and everyone seemed to be in a good place. I'll definitely return.

Stopped for lunch this afternoon with the family. At first I was a little dubious due to the lack of kids drinks and no high chair being avaliable. But I suppose the area isn't normally a child focused area, so can kind of understand this. However once the food turned up I was presently surprised. Think I can safely say the burger and dirty fries were the best I've ever had, a view also echoed by the family and partner. The staff member was polite and professional and very helpful. Wpuld definitely recommend.

Very clean and welcoming. Friendly staff and tasty food. Had my first full English breakfast and it was a delight

Lovely place. Friendly staff, food is tasty (although my chips were a bit soggy). Its clean, well look after new classic pub. Menu suits all tastes. Price is ok for this location. The only downside is toilet-smell of dump and not very pleasant.

Spent the afternoon in London for my daughters birthday and this was a great find away from the more touristy areas that were absolutely heaving, food was great and there was a nice atmosphere. The guy behind the bar even predicted a 4-0 for Liverpool against Arsenal shortly before kick off so get that man to do the lottery numbers next week 🤣

*first timer on this pub*
Hi everyone! I went to this pub for a few drinks, and spoke to a lovely staff with short curly red hair(she deserved commendations) who was very friendly, accommodating and she always have a smile on her face.
However, when asking another member of staff what time is the last order, a tall blonde hair, skinny old lady with came across very rude and abruptly said “ I told you last orders was at 7 o’clock!” and she went straight out the door and had a cigarette. Basically, she has a very bad customer service who she forgot that she is working in “hospitality”.
