Reviews of The Prince Alfred
S. D. A.
Spent a lazy afternoon at this pub that began with one of the best Sunday roasts I've eaten. Everything on my plate was delicious and I'm certain to pop in again when I can. The coffee was also very good. I loved the warm and cozy ambience. The place wasn't noisy, which was wonderful, relaxing, and just great for a nice conversation. The two gentlemen who entertained us and made sure we had everthing we needed were the friendliest and warmest. I can't believe after years of living in the neighbourhood, we only popped in now!
P.
Pleasant experience, food was nice and came quickly. A decent choice of wines! Our server Marius impressed us with some magic tricks!

We had such a great evening here last night! The staff are friendly and efficient and the food was superb, kids had great burgers, meat was perfect and came in a nice brioche bun, the sausages were super and the John Dory excellent. One of the waiters was a magician and showed us some fantastic card tricks. Will come back here next time we are in the area. The Pub itself is traditional and beautiful. Best pub in the area.
J. K.
They have the most beautiful beer glases, and the kindest Barkeeper ever. He knows why I write this.
What a great place with delicious Toasts to start a trip to London.
J. K.
A lovely olde world pub with fantastic woodwork .. With privacy screens and low separation doors really brings back the olde days .. With a nice selection of real ales available
A. C.
Beer is fine, I don't know about the food, but for me it is all about the snugs, which as far as I'm aware are original. Should be full of tourist marvelling at how we used to drink, but it isn't. I always enjoy visiting, if not fitting through the little doors.
P.
Nice pub! Like the vibe and decor and staff seem really pleasant. But, went for the Sunday roast and was disappointed I have to say. I had the vegetarian option, which was a beetroot wellington, that was very bland. Also, hardly no vegetables served, I.e. two carrots and some potatoes, which had a weird after taste. Yorkshire pudding was huge! But felt like that was believed to be enough to compensate for the lack of everything else. Yes it was a big meal, but just not tasty, and I was gutted after craving a good Sunday roast and only ate it as I was hungry. Also, overly expensive for what it was. I don't mind paying for good quality meals at all, but begrudgingly did so in this case.

Beautiful pub with amazing wood work and etched windows. Great upscale pub food. Staff make the pub and especially the bartender with the wonderful slight of hand tricks! Enjoyed the plant burger
g. w.
Slabs of tender Sunday roast beef perfected on a plate at a great venue- beautiful traditional pub. Chef takes pride in his work chasing down servers to get the food out quickly while it's hot.
S. B.
Fantastic pub. Really interesting history. Ask Kia if you want a mini tour. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great food and drink in a nice relaxed atmosphere..what more do you need! 👍
T. H.
So glad I can call this place local. Went there for dinner with my girlfriends and had an amazing time. I choosed my classic - Halloumi fries ❤ but girls got the proper dinner and we all left happy and satisfied.
Btw: If you are lucky you can also see some magics 🎩 from the waiter 🤭
Thank you !
P.
Has got character 🕰🕯📻 specially when you have to dock down to go through different sections of the pub 😅

My partner and myself had such a great time at the Prince Alfred last Sunday for roast. The restaurant itself had such a great atmosphere and super cosy for a meal. The Victorian doors by the bar was a cute little touch as well! But most of all, we had received exceptional service from our waiter (we did not catch his name but he was the only one wearing a blazer). Although he was a stand out for us, the service throughout the team was great and cannot fault the team or the restaurant.

I'd like to thank you, all staff for serving us an amazing Christmas lunch. The food was truly excellent. We felt well looked after in this very special time. Super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommended
G. S.
Great tradicional English pub, lovely atmosphere, thank you all of the staff, they all lovely.
Food was excellent, really good variety of beers. We’ll definitely comeback.

I came in for a very early dinner as I had just arrived in London and was a tad bit jetlagged. Though I felt a bit awkward being the only one inside the pub at the time as it was so early, the staff warmly greeted me and I had a wonderful first meal in London!
S. K.
THE A LISTERS AND HIGH STANDARD IS BACK FINALLY !!!!! Formosa dining room attached to the prince alfred pub used to be top notch but it went WAY down hill and just never picked up over the last 15 years. The staff in the bar were disinterested at worst and edgy at best and the food quality was way below the summerhouse and the waterway. Well, Prince Alfred and Formosa Dining Room are back on form. Finally, there is good friendly service, professional staff and excellent food. Please god dont let this go downhill again as Formosa Street is becoming the evening restaurant place to be locally and the Prince Alfred pub is the focal point of that. Here's hoping.
J.
5 stars in terms of ambience, food, location(for me) and “friendliness”!
I live super close by but it was my first time at Prince Alfred today - should have come more often!!
Been working from home and just needed a change of scenery so I went downstairs for lunch today.
Larissa greeted me at the door and asked where I would like to sit. She was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. She introduced their specials for the day(or the week not sure). I ordered risotto and it was nice and just the right portion for me.
Overall very nice experience and I would recommend this place to you. :)
N. L.
Nice lunch and a pint at this restored classic pub today. Last time I was here was unbelievably New Years Eve 1976. Great service and menu. Was very hot today so had snacks rather than a roast lunch. Good pint of Youngs as well.
U. M. K.
Always a favourite of mine, used to frequent in my younger days. Lovely staff, good old fashioned pub, don't ever change.
S. A.
Nice friendly pub to visit during a lazy Sunday. We got the roast and dessert. Pork belly roast was top notch but the crumble dessert was lacking crumble. Still nice food and chilled atmosphere.
A. M.
Just loved this old building and glass and tile front. Better on the insde. Food was great, but only had time for a starter and shinny chips which was filling. Teapot has 2 servings. Toilets downstairs where you have cell seating.
J.
£7 for a pint of Gamma Ray and £6.50 for a Peroni🤷♂️. Doesn't need to be this way when the Warrington around the corner doesn't charge much more than a fiver for a pint. Beautiful pub, though.
N. C.
Fantastic pub with good food. Actually very shocked how good it was. A lively friendly service from the restaurant. Will definitely go back very soon. Roaring fire too for this insane winter..
Went back a second time & sadly didn’t match our first visit(by quite some way.
S. M.
Fav pub in London, but seriously, get here and ask for Marius!!! This guy is like Obi Wan, Harry Potter and Gandalf! He makes insane magic tricks and every time they are different. He defies the laws of physics
Y. G.
Lovely English pub with great service and nice food.
The roast was tasty but... a bit cold
Same for my friends, even the burger was cold.
I suppose it was difficult to manage a table of 7.
Will try on my own soon
R. D.
Fantastic pub with good beer, great service and dog-friendly to boot.
A. N.
Called in for a drink today on the recommendation of a local runner who overhead us deliberating somewhere to stop. Great characterful pub, friendly and accomodating staff, good beer and loved the low set doors you had to crouch to get through. My wife also enjoyed the warming sloe gin and spiced apple! Liked the pub so much we reserved a table for a late lunch...our second visit of the day was just as good as the first and the food was excellent. It's not overly cheap but expected this for the area. Will definitely visit again in our next trip to the capital.
M. Z.
Excellent pub. Great character with the bitesize doorways you have to go through to access some of the seating areas! Well worth checking out!
A. M.
Attended for lunch with a large group of colleagues. The food was excellent quality and service prompt and helpful but without being intrusive. Nice surroundings made for a comfy and pleasant lunch. Would definitely return.
A. C.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal here. Marius (our server) was an absolute highlight! He showed us some incredible magic tricks and was very friendly and efficient throughout the night
P. M.
Pub with features and history(ie Alan Turing was born locally) nearby. Went for Sunday roast in the cellar... Overall good service and nice food.
S.
A nice little place, but quite expensive for a pub and it shows in their service. They have a good selection of beer on tap though.
Doesn't give you bread or anything similar while waiting for your food tough, which is really cheap of turn considering the prices.
g.
nice little pub with very old parts still intact. well worth a visit to see how pubs used to be.
R. F.
Nice pub with a good restaurant, nothing fancy, just well cooked usual pub restaurant food.
S. B.
Food was tasty and well cooked but the service is appalling.
I am sat her now 30 minutes after finishing my meal - no one has asked if it was OK, no one has offered dessert or asked if I want anything else.
I'm actually wondering if I got up and walked out anyone would notice - and there are 7 other people in the restaurant!!!
Come for the food bit don't expect to be looked after!!!
C.
We had a magical time with Marius, let me put all the cards on the table…The chips were great. Both potato and poker. ;)
Make no mistake - there’s no illusion here. Great pints and good food.
D. J. (.
Open Kitchen, amazing service, great mains selection, starters choice not so great. Good selections of wine.
L. M.
Went for a Sunday roast lovely staff and really nice food. Dog friendly too :-)
G. V.
Closest pub to my house and I love the food here. Going again really soon
S. R.
Larissa and the team were really helpful and attentive. The meal was lovely. It was great that as a party of 9 we could order from the usual menu on arrival. Good value for money.
I. L.
Lovely pub with some authentic features. Good choice of traditional ales, delicious food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice, cosy atmosphere.
W. H.
Went for sunday lunch which was very good but let down by the service, we finished our meals and then had to sit with the plates for over 30 minutes so left
J. J.
Wonderfull place for lunch, enjoyed lunch with family. Special thanks to Marius Cernea, he made our lunch special and greeting from Erika!!
n.
Pub & Restaurant with traditional English cuisine and exclusive selection of London beers. Great location for an afternoon refreshment.
W. C.
Long-standing local pub has over 150 year history. Nice interiors and cozy vibe.
P. B.
Nice local pub beat to little Venice canal. Excellent food and service. Friendly eclectic crowd.
D. M.
Absolutely lovely meal. The sticky toffee pudding is a must and the service is superb. Ask for Marius! He'll take care of you for sure 🙌🙌
M. M.
This is going to be my new local pub and I'm very happy about that.
So I don't come here as often as I did because I live closer to the Hero, but the food here is much better value.
I. A.
Such a great pub. Lovely staff and the food is awesome!
g. u.
Possibly one of the best roasts dinners I've had in a while I had the 3 different meat roast. Slow cooked lamb, beef sirloin, and gammon. Loved it.
V. C.
Very tasty Sunday roast and delicious desert in this beautiful old pub. Only downside was we had to wait a very long time for our food..think they had forgotten us.
A. W.
Great victorian pub! The staff were lovely and really friendly, they go beyond and back to make sure the customer's having a great time. They offer a great selection of drinks and I only had the usual bar food so I don't have much to say regarding their food. Overall experience was great, I recommend this place.
D. E.
In my view one of the best pubs in London, visited many times while living in Maida Vale. The snugs with the little doors around the horseshoe bar are quite unique and worth experiencing. Has a very relaxed local vibe, never seen it super crowded. The food generally is good, and the Sunday roast in particular stands out. I don’t live in the neighborhood anymore but whenever I’m back I always stop in for a pint.
Y. H.
One of our favourite pubs. Great beer.
P. M.
Does "pub" very well. Great food & service. The foccacia bread was lovely, and couldn't fault anything else. I was informed the halloumi fries were a good as anywhere.
M. O.
One of the most gorgeous pubs around, lovely architecture!
M. A.
The most charming and beautiful pub, excellent customer service and delicious food!
S. Q. B.
Wonderful and different kind of pub with a splitted section either you want some drinks or you are looking for food.
W. H.
This is a pub in very Traditional style. It can get very very busy at Weekends and unfortunately the staff are so busy you can be neglected. Good Atmosphere and the staff are friendly.
R. B.
Very nice old world charm pub
M. L.
Just go here to enjoy the interior... exceptional traditional bar one of London’s finest historical examples. Stood outside with a drink once, pleasant street on a balmy evening!
Never eaten here but never had a bad experience with staff or service.. I’m not a local.
In my view the top of the ornamental bar could do with a dusting but maybe that’s part of the historic charm!

This guy Marius Came to the table when I was sitting with my friends and hi makes some off amazing magic tricks 🎩
G. J.
Quirky pub, lovely architecture with excellent nooks.
J.
Had a lovely pub lunch in here and a bottle of wine! Nice relaxing atmosphere in restaurant could’ve stayed all evening... but had something else booked. Would definitely go back as food was great and good selection on menu. Restaurant well presented once inside, bar area could do with a makeover. Worth a visit if you’re visiting little Venice area.
K. T.
Nice atmosphere, good options on many. However got there in the late evening when they had sold out of most of the meals.
V. C.
Very tasty Sunday roast and delicious desert in this beautiful old pub. Only downside was we had to wait a very long time for our food..think they had forgotten us.
G. M.
Top knotch pub in the midst of the Warrwick Bermuda triangle. As a Canadian in London, this place made me feel like I was at home, great ppl, great times
M. M.

Had an excellent family meal here
J.
Great pub 👌
G. S.
Just had some drinks pre and post cricket match. Decent beer
S. W.
Amazing interior due to its grade 2 listing. Starts to get proper busy in a good way from 6/7pm onwards with local people and suits finishing work. GreAt, friendly atmosphere. Good selection of beers and bar snacks. Only negative is main mails are overpriced for standard pub grub but it's a lovely setting for a pub meal.
J. K.
Booked a “snug” for a school event. Perfect for our party of 15 to mingle. Drinks and food were easy to order, service friendly. The booking process was very efficient via email. And the place itself is so beautiful and unique. Will book again for future events. Highly recommend.
L. M.
Warwick Avenue’s best kept secret. This is by far one of my favourite pubs in London, by design. I’ve never been compelled to eat there, but it’s great fun to drink in and one day I’d love to try out the cellars for a private party.
M. H.
The service is excellent and the restaurant manager is very capable. We had the roast beef and the lamb. Unfortunately as we came late the lamb was over cooked but they gave us a full portion of beef slices for free which were delicious. The atmosphere is quiet which is what I needed after my previous evenings frivolities.
T. L.
Great decor and great Sunday lunch!
M. E.
Nice gastro pub. Decor of the pub itself is a wonder to behold. Dining room used to be excellent. These days not quite so distinguished but decent enough. Why did you get rid of the wonderful canal photos?!
S. B.
Perhaps the most beautiful pub in London, if not the country. Absolutely unique and worth going out of your way to see. Beer selection is a little disappointing: only two cask ales (including the thoroughly unremarkable Young's Bitter).
J. H.
Nice partitions, good to see a pub keeping this traditional partitioned bar layout and resisting the temptation to open it up. The tiny doorways between these partitions are always a source of fun. Beer a bit expensive but staff very pleasant.
N.
Nice pub, good atmosphere. Pub quiz was on when we visited (monday nights) and is quite loud and distracting if you're not taking part. Reason for 3 stars is that we waited nearly 40mins for a bowl of chips ordered at the bar.
A. P.
Stopped by for a couple pints, always great! Great pub atmosphere if that's what you're looking for, or a comfortable dining room with good food if you prefer. It's got both!
n. r.
Changing my review from 3 yrs ago... had an amazing roast dinner here last night. Excellent covid measures too that made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. So far the only place i have frequented that asked if we ( my husband and i) were from the 1 household. Thank you for your hard work!
C. N.
Best triple cooked chips around served in the best looking pub around!
R. N.
Food was nice.. U can see the pic.. This is fantastic English breakfast 🥣..
K. L.
A really cool pub, though since it was later in the night, they shooed us from the dining area, and only to the front. It was a bit annoying. A mate and I were having drinks while waiting for another mate to give us directions. Personally, I was falling ill, so the experience was dreary and unmemorable, but not any fault of the pub itself. I would have liked to try the food, had I been in the mood.
R. P.
A fantastic example of a traditional London pub. Ornate dividers remain as reminders of when those who could and wanted to paid an old penny a pint more to be separated from the hoi polloi in the Public Bar.
The immediate proximity of a very nice restaurant does nothing to take away from the atmosphere.
Just outside the West End, I'm surprised not to see more tourists!
A. A.
Very nice building and interior, the selection of beer is ok, service is ok, good atmosphere
J. L.
Good atmosphere and food. Recommended.
M. S.
Nice traditional pub with fantastic original features.
Nice range of beers at London prices and friendly staff. Great for a cheeky pint!
b. g.
Have been many times to the Prince Alfred and the food was normally very good. Last night after a hard day at Lords I took eight of us. (Had booked for 6 but they made room for 8 at the last minute), This was my first trip since the renovation and have to say we were a little disappointed . Soup was very thin, bread dull and the cod a bit overcooked. Service was fine if a little disjointed but overall not nearly as good as it used to be. This may account for the ease of getting a late booking increase !
I hope Jack the friendly Aussie manager ( least he sounded Aussie on the phone) can sort this out as I love this venue and it has been a regular and popular part of my summer schedule after cricket. Somebody please crack the whip.....The kitchen is not up to it at the moment!
O. U.
Fantastic food; amazing decor with great ambience and historic pictures hanging on the wall. Do you know they have an app you can make a request of song you wish to hear? Talk about a fusion of ancient and modern
J. D.
Very good food and service!
s. j.
WOW what an improvement!! Stopped using this pub/restaurant last year (after very many years of being a regular) due to poor management and even worse service. We went yesterday afternoon unexpectedly and had a perfect meal, perfect service and a great atmosphere - they even let little dogs in the restaurant now like country pubs do which makes for cosy, friendly ambience alongside their log fires - and if the restaurant is full they will now happily bring the same food in to the bar without any hassle. Let's hope they don't move the new manager out any time soon because she was totally spot on yesterday - and thats something i would never normally say.
I. A.
Sunday Roast food is hit and miss. Can be great but can also be a let down. Wish they had more consistency in their food/chefs. Also the serving staff, whilst nice, seem a little lost at times. Place itself is wonderful.
E. H.
Cool partitions in the bar make it feel very Victorian! Cute spot for a drink
J. A. (.
Wow! Beautifully renovated and restored, featuring large, decorated glass windowpanes and intricately carved wooden room dividers. Cozy and quant without feeling tired or musty. A roaring fireplace keeps things warm in the winter. A decent cidre selection is bolstered by premium gluten-free beer. Complimentary apple pies was a nice bonus. Great location; will definitely visit again.
S.
Lovely, friendly and professional bar staff , very quirky design to the pub. All round great few hours here. Definitely check it out. And dog friendly :-)
R. R.
Good menu, friendly staff, nice atmosphere what more could you want.
J. L.
We went there because a person was visiting and wanted to try pie. Although they said they didn't have it we decided to stay because they had sunday roast once we started ordering 3 of the meats were out and after we order they said they no longer had Yorkshire pudding. The food was ok but disappointing. Overpriced and one of the waiters was rude the other one was great.
I. L.
A delightful bar full of historic character. Good beer and friendly service. We didn't eat but the food certainly looked nice.
M. E.
Proper London pub. Beautiful wooden snugs and plaster ceilings. Beer is pretty good too!
M. J.
Great organic pub in Little Venice. Excellent Sunday roast with thin slices of beef; one of few places in London offering that. Desserts are great. Try banoffee pie or sticky toffee pudding. I'd definitely go back in the spring or summer.
A. K.
My favourite local pub. It is one of a handful of preserved Victorian pubs in London. This is a hidden gem pub in Maida Vale. Being in this pub is a very authentic experience it is truly an English stye pub with cute little doors separating each area. The food is never disappointing and ever changing.
Staff is fantastic and it never fails!
J. W.
I love this place, Especially the Sunday roasts!!!
I would have given 5 stars but they never show the football on sky sports which sometimes means we have to go elsewhere
Husband is a massive football lover and won’t miss it for anything :( please start showing the football on a regular occasion especially the big games
V. N.
Traditional English restaurant, pleasant staff
P. C.
Really good roasts, and desert wine by the bottle is reasonbly priced - worth bearing in mind if there are a few of you who can't manage an actual desert. Book so that you're guaranteed a table and waiter - it gets busy and you don't want to be at the mercy of the in-demand bar staff.
P. S.
Good beer selection. cask in average condition, could be better
J. J.
A friendly experinced pub dating back from the victorian times. When the bars were sectioned off from each other for men / women / working class / toffs. Nicely decorated pub wirh lots of original features majes fir an interesting meeting place and a drink. Now with an added restuarant serving bar bistro food.
I. T.
A really nice Victorian pub with lots of original features and character. Had a meal and we were really impressed by the selection of seasonal food. Everything we tried was impressive. I would highly recommend a visit.
S.
The food was great and service was good
A. J. (.
Lovely local favourite, good selection of wines and beers. Staff are very friendly and professional. Good covid measures taken
K. S.
Gorgeous old pub, well worth a visit if you've never seen the unique interior. A little bit posh; staff are friendly and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed.
C. L.
Beautiful pub with partitionings to make little snugs. It's still a big pub with high ceilings so feels spacious. Good service. Nice for pub grub.
L.
Quaint, traditional pub located off a trendy part of town. Good kitchen offers a wide variety of food in the dinning room, but bear in mind that the pub may lack the room for big groups of drinkers.
M. J.
Enjoyable venue with booths separating out the main pub area. Friendly staff and clientele. Dining room at the back but you can order food anywhere. Love the food and drinks
O. G.
The magic truck by Marius is incredible, good pub as well
G. S.
Just had some drinks pre and post cricket match. Decent beer
R. G.
Great service ..great decor...lovely place will go again
A. G.
Organised and friendly. Nice staff and an ok choice of drinks. A little expensive but in keeping with the area. First come first served. A popular venue.
Z. R.
Had an excellent family meal here
J. P.
Lovey pub, but Sunday roast over priced. Both chicken and lamb roasts over cooked, dry with meagre amounts of gravy and vegetables. Visit for a drink, but better meals can be found close by.
S. T.
Old fashioned pub lots of original features., drinks pricey example pint of beer a grey goose vodka with elderflower presse with mint & cucumber and ice £14.20. Peanuts small bowl £ 2.75. 😭
k. j.
Atmospheric Victoriana, but two pints and a G & T were £26.
M. I.
An exquisite Victorian pub with snob screens
H. C.
Nice pub. No music, no pool. Quite and do food restaurant.
J. F.
Nice booze upfront, and little section cut offs for a quiet pint and chat. The restaurant is also nice in the back too
h. p.
Amazing pub food and amazing atmosphere ! The staff go above and beyond and had the best pub food I ever had here ! Definitely recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a good meal !
V.
Friendly staff and the atmosphere is nice and good selection of drinks.
C. S.
Very interesting pub in a great London area, with a traditional architecture and very delicious food.
The service is quick and stuff friendly.
C. A.
Nice pub to have a beer with friends. I have not tried the food, but I have enjoyed crouching through the little passages in the wooden partitions of the pub when having to go to the toilet from one corner of the pub to the other one
s. a.
Love this pub! Food is just honest pub grub.
J. B.
Great place with a suntrap garden. Food slightly over priced. I apologise as my original review was for the wrong venue. Nevertheless this place is great, excellent food with brilliant service (special mention for Joel).
R.
I'm in love with wood and etched glass as pub vernacular and this is a stunning example of it. Ok range of beers including decent IPA.
C. B.
Amazing Breakfast here. Quality ingredients and well cooked by a chef who knows how to cook. Definately the best Ive had in London.
R. W.
Great traditional British Pub with a very friendly staff, croud and atmosphere. Good food in the dining room, perfect for groups.
T. C.
We are at the newly refurbished Formosa Street Dining room which is the attached restaurant. Loved it! Must order the baked camembert from the pub menu. Great spot.
E. A.
Gorgeous pub, great draught selection.
M. C.
How could you not love this beautiful Victorian pub? Great food in the adjoining restaurant and friendly staff. Excellent situation in a lovely quiet corner of London.
J. F. V.
The best bits about this pub are its interior & atmosphere.
The building has certainly lots of history.
The food is good but bit overpriced but they have a good selection of drinks.
Z. B.
Great local pub with friendly staff and clientele. However drinks prices are high even for an upmarket part of London and the restaurant is pretty average.
I. L.
Lovely pub food. Plenty of delicious vegan options
I. A.
Beautiful period interior but the bar area is crowded and small for parties of more than 3 (dining room is much bigger). Good kitchen!
T. L.
One of the best pub in the area!
Live music on Thursday, Saturday from. 9.00 to 11.00 pm and and Sunday from 8.00 to 10.00. Reccomended!!!

The stain glass work, woodwork and general layout of this pub are worth exploring, only one cask real ale available, and that was a bit pricey
m.
Smart pub, with a old school feel. Good food from our single visit. Happy times
T. T.
Friendly staff, good Sunday roast, cozy atmosphere!

I didn’t really visit the pub...just stopped by to see the Alan Turing monument (place of birth). Nice, quiet neighborhood and pleasant to stroll around in.
A. T.
Superb food, great drinks, lovely staff and incredible interior! Braised beef was fantastic, proper restaurant quality. Excellent!
G. S.
Wonderful ornate pub, with typical drinks selection. Music choice and volume a little jarring with the surrounds.
S. T.
Great food and service, as always. All rules respected we had a very nice evening
R. S.
Great food, fantastic service (very prompt & friendly -- the server brought us a piture of water and glasses without being asked) and they still have the dividers and snob screens. Had a great time!
S. G.
Very nice and friendly staff! Nice place, good interior.
P.S bring back in menu curly fries!!! It was amazing!!!
G. T.
I would have given 5 stars if it was what it used to be before it had been closed down for months. After the re opening and the changed management, the quality of the food, politeness of the staff etc has all changed in a negative way. Now we mostly visit there only for drinks but haven't been to the restaurant section for a long time.
N. D.
Wonderful pub and restaurant. One of few remaining original London gin palaces. Fortunately re opened after a long time closed
C. D.
An attractive Victorian pub near Warwick Avenue with a lot of character. Food is very nice but as with a lot of pubs a little over priced.
D. A.
Gorgeous traditional pub, nicer crowd than most, great food and reasonable prices
A. C.
Great food and atmosphere. Drinks are a bit pricey but if I wanted cheap drinks id get a cider from Tesco and go to the park bench.
C. H.
Good separate areas considering the times. Historically designed to keep the rich from the poor. A wee bit expensive though. Good service.
B. M.
Nice pub, interesting how the bar is divided up into sections with their own entrance and little small doors to go between sections.
M. B. B.
Had an amazing experience at the Caribbean food night, food and service were absolutely perfect! The best thing to cure my autumn blues
G. B.
Quirky and good atmosphere. Lovely staff and not overly expensive (~£5 for a pint of ale).

M. L.
This really is a nice local restaurant. Great food and decent service, staff are smiley and welcoming, as well as polite, although they could be a bit faster with the serving. Decor is pretty nice, a bit snobbish, but nice. Has a nice atmosphere and a good choice of dishes in the menu, and there are a lot of them, as well as drinks of course. Priced are rather average, not really cheap, nor expensive. I could say that this is the best local pub.
