Fell in here at a quiet time, gave me a chance to see what the place looks like! A great pub and venue just off Charring Cross Road, surrounded, at the moment, by scaffolding and various building site bits and pieces. Don't let that put you off! It's a great place for a beer or six. Live venue downstairs for all sorts of entertainment. Drop in and have a lovely time. Add an extra star for the spicy chicken bites, thank you Chef!!

Awesome pub tucked away in Central London. I tend to go for the G&B comedy nights downstairs hosted by Kyle Wallace on Tuesday’s.
The staff are really friendly and helpful. Drinks are awesome with a good variety and the pub food is great.
The night I took these photos I only ordered 1x burger, until the bar person mentioned it was free extra burger night so I had 2 😏
K. E.
Lovely afternoon spent here. Great atmosphere and super friendly bar staff. Our new 'go to' pub next time we're in town. Special mention to Naz(?) , Hope I got your name right! You're awesome 😀x

Would just like to say that Tatyana was a fantastic host. She was caring and on the ball with all of our requirements. Food was great as always. Only person that let the experience down was the manager, who was very rude and abrupt with a table of 20+, nearly undoing all of Tatyana’s hard work.
Basically, a great place but the management can learn from the staff when it comes to customer service.
C. D. S.
It is a very nice space if you like rustic. The staff is friendly and they have good drinks. The kitchen was closed so I could not try the food this time.
J. (.
Good service from friendly staff, nice beer and good food. Close to the busy areas but shame the location isn’t more prominent as it would be packed out. However, it is close by the other bars of you’re working your way around Soho.
D. C.
Great spot, conveniently hidden behind G-A-Y for a bite and a few pints.
D. W.
Amazing food and drinks I can fully recommend, great spot close to British Museum!
M. S.
Nice pub, surprisingly quiet on it visit. What takes this place from average to great is that the staff were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. Would return again.
F. J. M.
Don't expect american sized burgers, but they are delicious. Very friendly staff. Lovely place. Reservations are possible and seem to make sense. If you plan to go to the theater plan some more time for your visit.
B. I.
Amazing, fabulous, fantastic!! Great service great quality, great vibes. The staff are super friendly and has a great atmosphere
D.
Delicious burgers, especially the onions. Very friendly staff too
B. W.
Kieran and Naz were amazing and inviting.
Absolutely lovely and welcoming service. Our only safe space in Soho.
P. M.
Pre xmas dinner was great well done to Donna and to all her helpers
P. C.
Friendly inviting staff and lovely drinks. Great pub!
D. L.
Great bar staff, great location.
Thoroughly recommended.
N. V.
One of my favourite pubs in this area. It's tucked away and has a coo and quirky atmosphere with a good selection of beers. Also has comedy and music nights throughout the week if that takes your fancy.
J. K.
A nice pub off the beaten path , yet close to Tottenham Court Road tube station and Soho Square .. With two real pumps , a treasure ..
Y.
Amazing - cosy place away from the crowds with friendly staff and good burgers at decent prices, and so many sauces to choose from. Two vegetarian options available in burgers (mine was great), my aunt tells me the beef/bacon/spicy chicken one she had was delicious also. A bit of music had started up when we left too which was nice, Would definitely recommend.
L. S. S.
Quiet bar with good selection of beers. Seating is comfortable. It's not noisy which makes it a nice place to go for a chat. It may look like it from the outside being hidden behind a big construction site and down a dirty alley.
A. B.
This gastropub has a lot of choice in food during the day time and during the night time has a good selection of different wines and beers.
The place is within walking distance of an underground station and there are nearby bus stations that give you access to local transport.
The crowds that come to this pub are from 21-50 and are very friendly.
C. P.
This place is hidden away despite being on a very busy main road. Not special looking as such and neither busy but it produces excellent burgers and plenty of choice. If you want a pub burger this is a good place to start. The quality isn't as youd expect from a burger house (byron, honest, five guys etc) but it is after all a pub and with that in mind it presents very good value for a decent enough burger.
S. K.
Possibly my favourite pub in the Soho/Tottenham Court Road area. Tucked away so it's not intensely busy, and has a decent selection of drinks on offer. Food is good, music is great, open til pretty late. Everything you'd hope for in a pub around Soho 👌
G. G.
Good friendly service. Plus side: always lots of space it seems. Minus: the reason is it looks quite dark even on a sunny day outside. Atmosphere very basic. Would go there with large group of people if you need space and outdoors area/ space which is rarely frequented.
Reddit meetup meets here
Otherwise stay clear.
Selection is good and food is reasonable 4/5
L. C. A.
Not only was the pub a welcome shelter from the rain, but the staff is great ! We are eating an amazing burger and some southern fried chicken with a side of chips. Prices are very reasonable, and the food is very good. Bonus : there is stand-up comedy in the basement ! Having a great time 😊
J. H.
A beautifully tucked away venue off a busy street, we were met with a perfect selection of beers and ales aplenty and the staff are exceptionally friendly, and really welcoming. A true pub 10/10 will return.
L. V.
Always come here after my geek out sessions in London. Food is great, service is lovely, and place has that homely and moody feel that's nice to chill at. Also nice to play a card game or two, or a board game if you got one with you!
Cheers for the lovely times guys! Go to place since 2013
A. J.
This is a great little pub, tucked away where tourists and plebs can't find it. It's rare to find a decent, uncrowded watering hole in WC1/2 - but this is the king of kings. Great selection of beers, friendly staff, good tunes, and plenty of comfortable seating. What more could you want in a pub?
J. S.
Nice pub, only downside is the fact there is a construction site next to it hence there isn't that much room outside. Always a good selection of beer, not a huge one but at least a few of any popular kind. Quite good food (for a central London pub). Also every week there are a lot of activities and group meetups on the lower floor (music groups, stand up comedy...)
H. R.
Tucked away behind the roadworks is this large, colourful pub. A great selection of drinks, at an average price for that area. The service has always been courteous when I've been and that, coupled with the great atmosphere, makes it a fun place to go to. Good for groups, but can get crowded if there's an event on and you just want a drink.
O. P.
Small cosy pub with an almost dive bar ambiance to it near Tottenham Court Road, offers a wide selection of beers, many crafts, with some tasty finger food to accompany. Overall great spot for drinks with friends on any night
M. S.
Great hidden gem of a bar. Prices are typical London, but a large selection of Lager's, Pale Ale's, IPA's and darker stuff. Very good bartenders and plenty of seating. Food is excellent.
M. P.
Came to grab a drink as any place that boasts a midweek ukulele Jan has to be awesome. We weren't disappointed! It was 90s rap night so we got to take in the booze along with some sweet jams of yesteryear!
T. M.
Visited here for a friends birthday last month. It wasn't the easiest to find due to the Crossrail construction at Tottenham Court Road. Not a bad place to have a drink. You've got the bar on ground level then underneath which I assume is for live music.
The beer was good. Same with the atmosphere. Quite laid back. Seems to be a good place to stop off before hitting the theater.
D. V.
Nice old school pub, just off Charing Cross. Good food, good selection of ales and beers. Occasionally Blues events (I know it from attending the London Harmonica School). Friendly for children also
D. D.
My husband I regularly pop in here if we are uptown for a night out near Tottenham Court Road tube. It is hidden away off main road and a quirky place with decent drinks and prices, comfy sofas and quick friendly service. Food isnt bad either. The toilets are downstairs and a bit cramped.
P. W.
A good traditional London pub. Not touristy. Serves a few guest real ales which are rotated regularly. Also serves good basic pub food. Check out the ukelele group who meet downstairs on Wednesday evening at around 8pm. There are a few spare ukeleles so you can join in. Tourists, of you are looking for an authentic pub near theatreland, try this one
P. H.
Staff for the most part are friendly, however what appeared to be the manager (or just someone of importance) came across as quite rude. Pints are not particularly cheap but the pub itself is a decent one.
v. d.
The staff are always so friendly and helpful.
J. L.
Lovely little pub in the heart of the West End. Comfortable, cosy and with decent beer and a surprisingly good American-style bar menu. A really nice little central London escape.
D. H.
Great burgers, often grumpy and rude service in day time. The sort of attitude that makes you feel like you're a burden to the bloke. There's sometimes a chap with a flat cap, he's nice. The grumbly, sweary mumbler isn't pleasant. If you can withstand the negative vibe then the burgers are truly worth the struggle. EDITED FROM 3 TO 5 DUE TO POSITIVE RESPONSE FROM THE PUB :-) You must try the burgers.
D. B.
I really like this pub - it has a lot going for it. Hidden just off Charing Cross rd, just away from the melee of Soho proper, it’s got tasty food, pleasant staff, a big selection of drinks, DJs on Fridays, downstairs function room that hosts comedy night and other events and clubs, 2 for 1 burgers on Tuesdays.
M. L.
This is a nice pub, much like many others. But ones a month it hosts the KaraUke event, a karaoke night with a live ukulele band. Sooo much fun to be there, a must do if you're around at the right time.
S. N.
Nice friendly staff, we only had one drink as there were a group of girls who continually shouted to each other and were screaming and loudly laughing. That was the only downside on that night. They should have been asked to keep the noise down, they were that loud.
A. B.
I stopped in here while trying to kill time in the area and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful and the drinks were reasonably priced.
C. S.
Came here for a mid week pint the girl behind the bar was super friendly. Great atmosphere and music.
p. w.
Best pub in central london by a country mile. Good beer selection, awesome staff, great music. Recommended!
R. M.
A surprisingly homely pub off a side street near Tottenham Court tube station, it hides an awesome 2-for-1 fried chicken, burger, and small sides deal that offers awesome food for tiny prices, as well as a comedy club in it's basement, both every Tuesday.
C. N.
Food was a big surprise, delicious burgers and sides! Great prices, atmosphere and very friendly staff. No issues with my reservation and had a great time, will definitely be returning in the future!
w.
Went in before going to a musical and loved the place. Service was great, liked the burgers, liked the atmosphere. If I return to London I will likely drop in again.
k. ..
Everyone is very friendly great pub.
P. W.
It really isn't a gastro pub and the food can be a bit hit or miss, bar staff are a bit surly. Good range of beer though.
R. M.
Lovely bar/pub, hidden away! Nice chilled atmosphere, was here on a Saturday night and it was fairly quiet compared to other places, loved it!
J. B.
Amazing environment, great food (especially the veggie burger and sweet potato chips), slightly out the way but recommend you book for large groups
S. F. T.
Great place, nice atmosphere and great selection of food and drinks. Very friendly staff. Higly recommended
F. F.
The place is nice, don't let the bad service bother you. Before choosing from the menu go to the bar and ask what the actually have available.
R. C.
Great selection of beers on draught and in bottles and cans. Fried chicken is some of the best I've tasted!! Well recommended
L. T.
Nice craft beers and plenty of great vegan options on the menu and comedy nights in the basement - nice one.
g.
The 'quiet local' neatly tucked away behind the crossrail development at Tottenham Court Road. Amazing katsu burger and cheese n gravy chips!
M. B.
Service was prompt and friendly. Excellent pours. Very good food and presentation. Officially on my list of places to return to.
C. H.
A lovely little pub that is coping well with the cross rail building work. Lovely burgers and a good choice of drinks.
K. S.
Staff were really helpful. Drinks ok priced. On a Saturday night, not that busy. Would recommend.
J. H.
Great pub near Tottenham Court Road station, somewhat hidden behind the Crossrail construction work. Fair prices, good drinks, good pub food.
M. H.
Delicious and generous halloumi burger with a delightful ukelele group in the basement to boot; highly recommended!
z. m.
Tucked away, reasonably good range of craft beer and a chilled vibe. Good place considering how close its to Tottenham court road.
J. S.
You don't expect such a chill place in the middle of a crazy area but here it is. Good beer, cool staff, it's a great place to stop in when the streets get a bit too busy.
G. G.
Good place to have a drink. Good service and generally quieter than most pubs in the area.
q. 5.
at the moment...almost hidden by a building site and doesn't look much from the entrance. but once in comfortable... cheap drinks.... for London. and also cheap good food. would visit again.
B. D.
Always great food and a great selection of beers with friendly staff. Well worth checking out this hidden gem.
D. C.
Friendly atmospheric pub. Good beer selection and great music too. What's not to like?
P. Z.
My go to venue for birthdays, nice chill atmosphere, ample space, great food and drinks. Very nice staff.
W. S. B.
A now hidden gem thanks to the crossrail building site. good atmosphere and great indie/rock/alternative music playing + aspall on tap
Z. Z.
Great food and drinks. Fantastic service from Martina behind the bar. The food is awesome,
S. V. d. B.
Want to give it 3.5 stars. It was dark and felt dirty. It's down an alleyway hidden behind some construction. It wasn't easy to find a table for 2 of us. The food was cheap but honestly I wouldn't rush back.
H. R.
Great place to stop for a pint or a meal. Crowd can be a mix depending on the night.
H. S.
Fantastic for food (esp burgers and wings), a good drink and a good laugh. Easy little spot often overlooked.
T. B.
Not too busy, quick service, good selection of drinks and occasionally has something quirky downstairs like a ukelele night
M. L.
Great indie pub hidden in the Crossrail construction site. Good spot if you want a decent and relaxed Soho pint.
B. F.
Typical English pub with great beer.
9.
Epic staff and site but when it comes to Industry night please get a DJ that knows how to mix and bounce off the crowd instead of putting CDs in like it's some sorta kids party !! #bringbackbossit
J. C.
Great Sunday for afternoon drinks and food. Bit hidden behind the CrossRail works but worth a look.
Live venue in the basement as well
D. A.
Great staff, extremely friendly and excellent service, prices for London, this is very reasonable and the food tastes great, possibly more for lunch than dinner
J. O.
I'm here most weeks and the staff are great and the beer is very reasonably priced for the location!
R. S.
The food isn't great but on Wednesdays, there is a ukelele jam session downstairs, which is open for everyone to join in with!
K. N.
Burgers can be a hit or miss at this bar. Has a cool underground section where ukuleles can be heard every Wednesday!
M. “. O. K.
I keep forgetting about this place. Service is hit or miss depending on how busy it is. For the area tho it's great because it's tucked away and if you don't know where it is you walk by oblivious.
c. w.

(Translated) The "Royal George" is typically one of those English pubs where you can spend a quiet afternoon, sipping your beer, comfortably seated on one of the sofas, listening to music, browsing the Internet or sharing a nice moment between lover. Excellent beers, excellent food. And believe me that after having wandered through the streets, we really enjoyed ourselves. Strong chance that we will come back to it on our next return to London ;-)
