D. T.A chance visit to The Shakespeare in Bethnal Green. Lovely people in a simple but welcoming pub. A lovely lady behind the bar, more than a match for any customer. However, a caskless pub so real ale drinkers won't be happy. I had a great pint and enjoyed the banter and feeling of the pub.
l. r.My wife and I Spent the weekend in London and a visit to the East on was definitely what we wanted to do. We stumbled on the Shakespeare and very happy we did what a proper east end pub excellent atmosphere the locals and bar staff are so so welcoming.there was crisps cheese and pickles on the bar. Then around 3ish a big platter comes out full of beef roast potatoes and veg plastic plates and knives & forks for everyone to help themselves all free.. there's also a dukebox. We had a fantastic afternoon there and will definitely be going again on our next London trip in the new year ...
