Reviews of The Three Stags
C. B. K.
Nice little pub with indoor and outdoor seating.
The staff was friendly, fast and bubbly. Happily singing away.
Food was good though I would have tossed the rosemary and Parmesan with e chips before putting in the serving dish for them to be well coated. Really enjoyed the arancini. I like tzatziki but not sure about having it with calamari, however, still well made with thin batter.
S.
We enjoyed a fantastic Sunday roast here after an illuminating visit to the nearby Imperial War Museum. I had the roast lamb and husband had roast pork and both were fantastic as were the accompanying roast carrots, parsnips and potatoes and a nice crispy Yorkshire oud! Service was very friendly and efficient too. Highly recommended.
J. P.
Based on the photos I had higher expectations as the food does look good. Unfortunately the plate was cold as was the food. Maybe we were too late ordering as both our plates were not even equal. I had parsnip and 1 more roastie than my girlfriend and we had small scraggily pieces of meat. Additionally we wanted some dessert as we were still hungry after finishing but were told that they were no longer serving, some prior knowledge of this in advance would of been helpful. The final bill was over £40 which was a lot for the small plates we got. Perhaps we were unlucky but I wouldn't risk going again and could not recommend it. Unfortunate as the pub itself is nice.
E. J. F.
This place has a great atmosphere and brilliant service. I hosted 20 people for my birthday in December and the staff were super friendly and did a fantastic job all evening. Thanks to the whole team for a great night and for making us all feel so welcome - hope to be back soon!
M. H.
Incredible & attentive service!
A wonderful set of Staff, great Drinks and awesome Pizza. Kemar, behind the bar, made our evening. We even got to chat the Owner, Richard, who made sure that our party of 16 was looked after.
Great Boozer!
S. T.
Absolutely lovely atmosphere!
The service is prompt and the pizza is great. Kemar was the heart of the place, keeping the nice songs coming.
Went in for a beer and ended up staying for several hours. Gives you such a nice vibe you just don't want to leave! The place is fantastic, highly recommended!
A. B.
The food was amazing. The gentleman who served us was wonderful; there was blip with our order, and his customer service was brilliant. We'll definitely be back next time we visit London
L. G.
Had a great sunday afternoon here with a large booking of 11 people. Staff were wicked and served us all brilliantly. Lovely atmosphere in the pub too!
G. N.
What a lovely pub! Whilst visiting friends in London a group of us came for drinks, the cocktails were amazing and nice cosy atmosphere. In particular Chloe was super friendly and attentive - I will definitely be returning in future x
S. R.
Very welcoming for a table of 9, and they kept us topped up with beers over a couple of hours whilst we chatted and had pizzas. Nice background music, but a little loud sometimes, the bill was very reasonable, outdoor covered seating too. Lovely pub, and quite an unusual and diverse set of beers on offer too. Great place for lunch after a visit to the Imperial War Museum.
S. E.
Delicious Sunday Roast, we got the lamb option. Well cooked and good size portion. Friendly and helpful staff, will be back again for more.
S. N.
Excellent traditional pub - no loud sports on tv, one could have a conversation. Socially conscious and they have drinks specials, 2 for 1, during a decent amount of time in the afternoon. Service was exemplary!
D. T.
A decent local pub offering a simple but appetising menu with the now ubiquitous pizza selection, all looked and tasted good though, so certainly no complaints. Great place to call in if you are visiting the Imperial War Museum, over the road. Good beer and very personable staff to look after you. Pay a visit, you will enjoy.
J. B.
My husband and I were in town and stopped at the pub briefly. Unfortunately we didn't have time for lunch but it all looked really good.
The staff were really friendly and helpful.
It was 1 o'clock and there was no toilet paper in the ladies, it wasn't a problem but it was early and this should have been checked. I mentioned it and it was dealt with.
Doubt we will be in that area again but if we were, we would go back.
M. C.
Really loved the atmosphere of this place. it was cosy and warm. And the mulled wine, even though perhaps too sweet for some, was perfect for me.
L. A.
Fantastic pizza and very nice English pub. I strongly recommend it to pizza lovers and others too. Well done to all staff.
J. H.
Really tasty food and awesome service. Place was packed and we all felt well taken care of. Try the sticky toffee pudding and eggplant portobello mushroom burger!
A. S.
Loved the place. Not many pubs in London where you can hear yourself think. Good service, really delicious food. We had two portions of moules frites. Will visit again.
a. s.
Fantastic team running the pub, great choice of drinks and food quality is excellent!
S. J.
Nice enough place, staff friendly more restaurant than pub still couldn't stand at the bar.
T. R.
Very friendly staff and great food. They made a minor error in my order, but the staff was very kind and resolved the issue. Highly recommended.
P. C.
Love this place. The staff are great, the food is amazing (pizza is superb, and the various starters are all delicious). It's dog friendly, and has a great beer selection. What's not to love?!
S. V.
One of the best pizza in London I must say! Lovely service and nice atmosphere! I would definitely recommend!
L. O.
Absolutely amazing time in the Three Stags, really friendly staff and a huge shout out to Crusty (apologies if I've not got the name correct) really funny and really easy to chat to (despite being a Liverpool fan) if you are in London definitely the Pub to visit
A. T.
Excellent but with amazing food.
Joel was a brilliant host. He was very friendly and helpful.
The pizzas are big and scrumptious.
Good selection of beers
M. L.
We visited the Three Stags on a Friday night. The ambiance was perfect for a date; nearly full but still a few places to sit.
The meal was excellent. We both ordered pizza. They a meal deal which includes house wine. I recommend this option. Desert was also tasty, albeit there was only two options to choose from.
L. T.
We went to The Three Stags for lunch after we had been to the Imperial War museum for my husbands birthday. It was our first ‘meal out’ with our baby boy, so we were a bit nervous but the staff were so friendly and accommodating with the pram! The staff were really attentive so we ordered and out food came quickly which meant I actually got to eat whilst the baby napped, I had a pizza and it was delicious! My husband was pleased with the beer choice on tap which was also really reasonably priced for London. It was such a good experience all round for our first meal out and my husbands birthday, we will definitely go back when we are next visiting!
N. F.
Superb food, everything we ate was delicious, especially the wood fired pizzas and breads. Though one thing you can skip is the nutella pizza, which should be reimagined.
T. R.
A very atmospheric, cosy pub with very friendly staff. Food was an excellent quality (the best pizza I've had in a very long time), and portion sizes are adequate. Good value for money. And only a minutes walk from the Imperial War Museum!
E. C.
Exceptional food, the pizza and cod in brown butter in particular. However, given how quiet it was (despite being a Friday) service was seriously lacking and the manager/landlord coming to the table to update us with the Brentford-Arsenal score but failing to notice every glass at the table was empty and leaving before we had the chance to ask for more to drink rubbed us the wrong way.
i. b.
It’s fine. The people are really nice. The places is clean and charming. But I paid 6.50 for “bread and olives” and I got white bread and back olives from a jar. I guess it’s technically what I ordered... but if I’m paying 6.50 for it... like come on.
I guess it’s a pub though. You don’t go for the food, you go for the beer and atmosphere
D. K.
Came here because we were able to get a table at late notice. Roast was not the best, although the slow roast lamb shoulder for 2 was good. The roast was served the colder side of warm which didn't suit me.
s. w.
Cracking pub. Nice atmosphere, good ales, friendly staff.
Former hangout of Charlie Chaplin apparently.
C. A.
Very much enjoyed lunch here. Tasty, healthy, high-quality and eco-conscious food located near the Imperial War Museum.
R. B. C.
Amazing and friendly service. We went for the Sunday roast and I would love it.
J. B.
Good Christmas dinner. Apparently vegan options were lacking in flavour though. Friendly staff and nice environment
L. B.
The staff were lovely and the food was excellent. It came quickly, the pizza was massive and the chips were lovely. Very reasonably priced for the area, size and quality. Will go again!
C. H.
As Gastro pubs go in London, which there are plenty, this ticks all the boxes! First had the Sunday lunch and the then followed up with a fantastic pizza in midweek, great food, great staff and atmosphere… definitely going on my regular list👍
J. S.
A virtually ideal dining experience with only minor imperfections which were the result of dining outside.
The Three stags is located at a busy crossroads, so sitting outside provides the opportunity to watch the world unfold from relative sanctity. I only glimpsed the interior but what I saw was spaciously COVID appropriate. The obvious downside was the parade of loud pub goers, assorted weird pedestrians, horns and sirens which provided a poking background to distracting noise.
I can't fault the food in any noteworthy way, though only based on one visit; I ordered a delightful, very large truffle pizza and parmesan fries, splitting with a dining partner, which proved too satisfyingly rich for two people to easily finish. Those with a large appetite will should seek this oasis of uncommon quantity and quality.
To my memory, I only ordered one cocktail, a French martini, with which I was very happy.
h. a.
Found this gem of a gastro pub.
There's an excellent choice of food to suit all tastes.
Our choice was the friarelli pizza with a rocket and parmesan salad, which we shared, followed by Eton mess.
All of which was absolutely delish.
The staff are most helpful and accommodating.
Would well recommend.
N. B.
Great pizzas with 50% off Mon to Wed. I went with my family an evening. The pizzas are thin Italian style, great taste. I got a nice London beer on tap (cannot remember the name). The server Kemar was great, very friendly and professional. Just disappointed to have found that place on our last day of our trip. I strongly recommend
A. R.
Such a great pub staff are super friendly and helpful
M. H.
The service is incredible- friendly staff that held a couple of cheeky roasts back for us after they’d sold out earlier - knowing we were coming in especially to try them. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.
L. M.
Busy, though relaxed atmoshpere. Very good pizzas.
M. D.
A hidden gem. Wonderful pizzas and cocktails. Food, ambience, drinks service better than many high end eateries. A must visit.
S. W.
Really good meal here. Friendly service and an interesting menu including a tempting specials board. Recommended.
O. B.
Cute looking pub and great atmosphere.
Very dog welcoming, ethical and eco-friendly establishment.
First time visiting for Sunday Roast and regretted not having done it earlier!
All staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious (especially the clearly homemade Yorkshire Pudding). The only thing is that we personally would have liked the roasted potatoes to be more crispy, but that’s a small detail compared with all the rest.
Overall, we can’t wait for it to reopen after lockdown and bring all our friends!
P. H.
Good size portions but a little pricey, but get, that's London for ya. Is it normal to add VAT and service charge?
N. D.
Good place for a Sunday roast and beer. We tried the chicken. Full of flavour and oodles of gravy. Charming pub. You can feel the history of the pub seeping in through the benches that you are sat on. Sustainable and locally sourced produce. Don't forget to read about the Chaplin corner.
D. S.
Awesome staff. Great menu
Loved turkey pie
M.
Great pub with good deal: 2 pizzas and a bottle of wine for 30 pounds!
A. S.
Great bar staff, meal was disappointing with what seemed to be yesterday's warmed chips.
S. W.
We went on a Saturday evening and there wasn't a large crowd. We ordered beers and the carnivore pizza, which was very good. Nice selection of drafts and bottled beers. We then had the sticky toffee pudding, it was divine! Service was very friendly and our pizza came out very quickly. It was a little pricey, but willing to pay a bit extra for quality ingredients. Definitely going again during our stay.
R. T.
I went for lunch on one day, and hv mussels and bread with a pot of tea. Just fit size n taste good with reasonable price.
A. G.
The most safe pub during Covid - they will measure your temperature, take details and control an amount of people inside. I haven't seen so much effort in the other places. Visit this place and feel completely secure!
Also the tastiest pizzas !!!
M. &. J. G.
Service good and friendly but food menu limited. Despite that we had an enjoyable meal.
T. F.
Our first dinner in the UK for a number of years. Loved it. Great beer, excellent fish and chips, although the handcuts were a little dry inside and the exterior wasn't crisp,so not really hand-cut fries. Pizza was good, albeit a slightly too thin base which got soggy easily.
Overall a good place with good food and good staff :)
N. M.
Really great pub. Good values great staff good atmosphere
A. N.
Stopped in after a long day. The staff was really friendly and their cocktails were delicious. Would go again
P. H.
Great place for a good pint after walking around the War museum. Excellent pizza's 👌
A. W.
No one came to take me in Pub, for 4 mins ,so I went and said do you sell ,Earl Grey Tea, he said yes, so this waitress came up and was Extremely Rude to me, I obviously don't look that I've had a Severe Stroke, so I told the Boss after, and said she's very Rude.... I don't think they Cared ? The pub was nice, but made me feel uncomfortable...
R. M.
Amazing roast dinner, the kind that warms the soul. Thank you 😊
B. W. (.
One of our favourite pubs in London. Friendly staff and good drinks. Not too crowded but always has patrons. Prices are fair and food is great. Thanks to the staff of The Three Stags who helped make our trip to London so memorable. Cheers!
F.
Friendly busy pub, handy for the tube and Imperial War Museum.
D. P.
Friendly pub but charged service charge no option to reject if we use the premises and buy the food and drinks why are we being charged for service
S. E.
Almost a 5!! Great landlord and very well kept ales
R. F.
Had a fantastic dinner! If the fish pie is on the menu, it's a must try. You will not be disappointed. Thanks for the beer and food recommendations, Verner!Plenty of brews on tap and our fish was perfectly battered and so juicy. The tartar sauce was delicious. This was a truly epic, and seemed like a quintessential, British pub experience.
S. C.
Such lovely bar staff and great quality food and drinks!
P. C.
Great atmosphere, nice selection of Gin, friendly staff.
N. B.
Had Sunday roast there yesterday after a recommendation from a friend, but I was left disappointed. It was very pricey for the amount of food that arrived. I had the chicken and my friend had the "vegan" roast (which was confusingly labelled "vegetarian" on the menu). We had an extra side to share between us and both walked away a little hungry. Service was great, but I felt a little short changed by the quantity and variety of the veg that came with the roast. There wasn't very much stuffing either, but the gravy was quite good and plentiful. I think this place is a bit hit and miss, which is backed up by the other reviews. Would go in with low expectations and lots of credit left on the card (just not AMEX, because that's not accepted).
K. L.
We got there late on a Sunday to find out to our disappointment the roasts had run out. Not only did the owner come over to us to apologise but he managed to rustle up a delicious lamb shoulder with a free round of drinks as compensation. The food itself was some of the best pub food I had tasted in the area. Overall experience could not have been any better - top marks all round!
G. B.
A lovely pub with a traditional decor. The Sunday roast was excellent, the meats were free range and the meal was delicious.
The staff were very friendly and the beer good quality.
If you are in the area I highly recommend :-)
N. B. G.
I went on Sunday 11th October, lovely hostess at the entrance was lovely and very friendly however the waitress we got wasn't that friendly in all fairness, she did her job well though. The guy that brought the food out was also quite friendly.
R. C.
Went for a Sunday Roast with a friend and it was an amazing experience. We were originally told that there was no space, but then the staff were so so kind to set us up a table for 2 so we could stay! The staff were amazing and so friendly! the food itself was amazing too! Im 100% coming back here!
A. M.
Great pub, excellent service and really tasty and extensive vegan options. They’ve also got plenty of tables outside for dinner with another household. Really recommend
G. C.
It is not what I was expecting. It is a pub that sells food, but oh my god their pizzas are bloody nice. The staff are very polite and professional. The setting was nice. They have an upstairs with a stone bake oven in use right in front of you. Worth giving a visit if you are ever in the area!!
M. K.
Great place! Now serving Pizzas for takeaway too. Just knock ;) they even helped us out with some flour to make our own bread while we are in Crisis mode. Thank you so much!
J. B.
I just popped in here to get out of the rain, best decision today so far. The staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered a clam linguine off the specials board, I believe it was the pasta of the day. It was filling, but not heavy; there was plenty of clams for the reasonable price. I would happily recommend this as a place to eat, even better is that it's only a short walk from the Imperial War Museum.
G. C.
Bar man was in a bad mood and seemed impatient with other staff. Weird atmosphere!
R. H.
J. C. A.
Good food but the service was not acceptable. Dishes were not picked up after more than 1 hour of finishing eating, they didn't offer desert and when we wanted tp order some brownies they already had closed the kitchen without at least telling us. 20% service charge for that? definitely not acceptable. Please improve your service!!!!
V. T.
Food was amazing and very friendly staff would highly recommend
D. B.
My wife and I were staying at an AirBnb a few blocks away and ate here our last night in London. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere, wonderful service and the food was delicious. As was the beer.
My kind of place.
Highly recommend.
C. B.
Food was lovely I had the fish and chips. Very tasty
K. R.
Nice pub to stop at for a quick drink after work .. only one though as it was a bit too pricey 😚
H. H.
Went for meal with a friend, recommended pizza, which we had and was lovely. Staff friendly, nice cosy place
S. B.
Service started off slow but got better. Food was top notch!
J. B.
This place was busy, which is good, and we waited about 10 minutes for a table. It was recommended by our consierge. This was THE BEST fish and chips we had the whole trip! I also thought the price point was very reasonable! They also made me a drink that was very good! Thanks so much! Wonderful service!
H. T.
Really nice sun spot next to the park and is great with dogs ( bowls of water and lots of pets from the waiters!) pizza was great, and the service was amazing!!
M. K.
Great staff. Great hospitality. Great food
A. T.
We came here to watch England play in the World Cup and grab dinner on the first night of our stay in London. It was recommended by our Airbnb host as one of his local favorite pubs and I'm glad he did. The ale was delicious and were brands I never heard of, a good thing since I'm not English so it seemed more authentic. It definitely had the local vibe and everybody was rooting for England. The pizza here was delicious and the fish n chips were good too.
I. P.
Great service. Was here last night. After a dodgy lunch at the Bad Egg earlier in the day (see my review), I wasn't feeling up for anything greasy. But this place do cracking pizzas, so I tucked in. Big fat capers and olives on my napolitana - a winner. Lovely service brought pint glasses of water ice and lemon unprompted just as we finished, anticipating out thirst. First-class.
H. R.
I had a brilliant time when I visited, I was at a leaving do and we had the private function room upstairs. The food was great and we were able to watch the pizzas being made upstairs in the large clay like oven. The food was fresh and plentiful, bar staff extra friendly and welcoming. I had a good time
E. G.
Your standard, nondescript London neighborhood pub. Which is to say, my kind of place.
Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. More seating upstairs. The food is good overall, and some of the pizzas (baked on site) are excellent.
Very nice revolving/seasonal selection of local and regional ales on tap. Or, if you want mass-produced Peroni or Heineken, they have that, too.
Maybe not worth riding the tube for hours to get to, but definitely worth the 15 minute walk from the Waterloo Station.
J. t.
Great pub & food was great. Had the three stags burger which was great. Homemade & fresh, came with an abundant portion of chips. Maybe a little salad & less fat chips would of been better hence 4 star rating. Was well worth the money & a visit. Would eat here again
N. D.
We had our office Xmas meal here which was really lovely. They made the tables look special, the food was excellent and the mulled wine delicious! Can't recommend enough but really I should be keeping it a secret or we won't get in next year!
S. S.
Bar and wait staff were great. Food was some of The BEST I've had anywhere! The chef is a genius. Lots of beer and drinks available. Food service begins at 6 pm.
E. L.
Very nice staff. Good menu. Book a table in advance. We were lucky!!
O. O.
Great pub, top notch pizza from a wood fired oven. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Guinness, 6/10 - quite smooth, not with the usual iron heavy taste of many London attempts, lacks legs though
M. B.
Friendly staff and well laid out. Any place with Blue Moon on draft deserves 5 stars!!!
J. W.
Great food great atmosphere, pizzas bang on and cater for all foodies can’t fault it.
E. S.
Just a wonderful place! Food is always amazing and vegan friendly! Don't forget to bring your dog, it will always get some treats xx
F. F.
Lovely location just by Geraldine park, great ans smiling service, just fully enjoyed a pint of draft PA on the terrace
P. G.
Came for a quick lunch. Friendly enough staff but they didn't seem to know what was going on. Looks like a pub so I went to the bar to order then told to sit down. Waited 25 minutes for food. When it came chips were cold. Doorstep Welsh Lamb sandwich was very good. Probably fine in the evening if you've got time to kill. I would have sent the fries back if I hadn't needed to get back to work. Won't come here again for lunch as I will be late back to work.
B. C.
Just love this genuine warm hearted pub and its good non "chain" food and friendly service. It's a regular and totally unpretentious. Pizza oven amazing but always other goodies for those less carb moments
A. G.
Great sunday roast! The vegan nut roast was delicious so were all the other dishes we had. We can also highly recommend the deserts! Very quick service and friendly staff! Will come again.
T. G. D.
Impressive service and delicious food!
G. W.
I recently had a party at the Three Stags in their upstairs function room / restaurant room. I knew about it as we had booked it previously for work events.
It's a very pleasant space, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. In the run-up and on the day, they were thoughtful, clear, and excellently friendly.
The room fits about 40, I think, and there's a chance to plug in your own music if you want. The pizza is good too.
I can recommend this wholeheartedly.
D. M.
Popular local pub with great bar menu and wood fired pizza. Great for couples and small groups (6 people or less). Outdoor seating available. No reservation required.
Tip: There's a bicycle pump and public bicycle stands just beside this venue.
A. N.
Lovely place with nice service. Excellent veggie burger and fish and chips!
A. D.
Great looking pub that's got a littler corner of it walled off and named "Chaplin's Corner" on account of Charlie Chaplin living nearby and who's father used to frequent the pub. Good beers. Good vibes. Food looked great and apparently the pizza is ace!
A. I.
Friendly staff and good food. Reccomended!
M. S.
Great food and drink!!!! We had the vegetarian meal offered (forgot what it was called) and the fish sandwich. Blown away!! I am a Charlie Chaplin fan and we were able to sit in the Chaplin's Corner of the bar where Charle's father is known to sit often when he drank in this place over a hundred years ago. The staff there was excellent and very pleasant to speak with. I hope to visit this place again when I go back to London!!!
l. m.
The food was as good as the people how made it A particular mrocen man he was so warm harted that he teached me how to made a proper pezza look
S. s.
Nice pub. Just outside Waterloo so if your up for little stroll you might find it less busy than the ones deeper into town. Next to the Imperial War Museum.
S. S. V.
Such friendly staff!! They even gave complimentary food! Will definitely come back to try the pizza! ☺️
M. R.
Great fresh food. Great service, friendly staff. Would recommend it. Better to reserve a table in advance. Fee WiFi. We’re been here two times, haven’t reserve a table, waited less than 5min to sit.
S. N.
It's great. Eco friendly organic free range food. Great atmosphere. Good accoustics in the main part for good conversation. Pizza, free range beef, with a gastro edge- the food is genuinely great.
R. B.
Really good food and reasonable price
E. H.
Sunday lunch, couldn’t fault it! 👌

The best food and value for money in South London. I love the atmosphere and the pub is very clean and well organised. Plenty table outdoor if you fancy some fresh air and the view of the park... Definitely a spot in South London you want to check out
A. E.
Good food, excellent pizza. Nice location, cosy and near tube. Beer touch on the expensive side, but range decent. Awesome owner.
E.
Traditional pub serving good food and a wide range of drinks.
Famous for its Charlie Chaplin corner where the actor used to sit for a drink when in London.
Mature crowd or families during the day at weekends.
Just a step from the Imperial War Museum, perfect for a pint after a visit.
R. B.
Was there about a month ago.Very friendly staff. Loved the Charlie Chaplin corner.Even exchanged own Chaplin stories from Nairn (Inverness). Cheers guys, you run a good pub. Roger.
S. D.
Lovely pub this, visited after a day visit to the IWM with the family. Our visit was made to feel all the more special as we got to sit in Chaplins corner, a separate little nook that was Mr Chaplins (Charlie's dad) favourite place to sit whilst drinking in this establishment. The staff were very friendly. The selection of drinks was good and standard price for the area. The wood fired pizzas were lovely.
Will visit again.
C. F.
Great atmosphere, really enjoyed having a couple of pints.
A. S.
We visited IWM at a weekend with my boyfriend and after the museum tour we got hungry and wanted some quality pub food so went to The Three Stags. The selection is not too big but the food is very tasty and the staff is really nice. It could be a little bit cleaner but the overall experience was absolutely satisfying.
P. B.
Love the pub food and atmosphere, and that they are so sustainable. Will be returning. Do find the staff quite rude particularly when we had a Christmas meal there.
C. T.
Great beer, incredible Pizza and friendly staff. What more can you ask for?

While on a walkabout to the National War Museum hunger struck. Having sampled pub grub on an earlier visit the Three stags presented an opportunity to sample more of the same. Given the time of day the menu was limited. The chef and staff accommodated us with a delicious pizza. It filled us right up. As an added bonus I discovered Charlie Chaplin's corner. In truth it was the non smoking section that I was looking for. The two page monograph about Mr. Chaplin was eye opening, I maybe sat where Charlie spent some of his youth. If your every in London give the Three Stags pub a visit. Stop by the National War Museum its around the corner. PS, I've posted Charlie's monograph to the picture associated with the Three Stags entry on Google maps.

Fantastic food, including a vegan shepherds pie that would convert any meat-eater, delightful staff and friendly service from Werner and his team. Highly recommended!
J. C.
Nice pub that is near to the Imperial War Museum. Popped in for a drink after visiting Imperial War Museum found the staff nice and friendly. They sorted out a seat for my boyfriend and I to sit so we could watch the world cup
P. T.
Went here for dinner because it was close the hotel we were staying at in London.
I loved the food and the waiter was very friendly and helpful. We shared the mixed grill, and it really exceeded my expectations! Highly recommended!
B. S.
£35 for two drinks very dear! Nice looking bar staff though.
l. d.
Dined for Sunday lunch. Portions were adequate. Meat not overcooked. Service was quick. Prices very reasonable. Left full and satisfied. Was quite busy but they squeezed us in without a booking. A good find
F. M.
Great food and drinks - even came out with a bowl of water for our dog
A. F.
Well I should not really share this. The best stone baked pizza in 2 mile radius from Waterloo. Tastes purely Italian. And great pub with outdoor space on the front.
J. H.
I can't say the food is great here... Their burgers are far away from the burgers you can try in the other pubs around. However, the beer selection is good and reasonably priced for Central London.
S. T. O.
Very PARTY and festive atmosphere as we were a'carolling with beer(...or rather mulled wine and mince pie) in hand...
The bar men and women were equally jolly as well. What a way to start the Christmas season! What a way! 》Hic《!
Promise...I was never that drunk there . . . .
a. l.
Staff where kind and friendly downside was the burger. A lot of grease like a rain storm after the first bite. Stick with the pints when you go here and it's all good
E. R.
I had an amazing venison Sunday rost here. Dish really well done with great meat and amazing vegetables. Cool place, too. Don't miss the wall paper :)
A. C.
The food is amazing especially the pizza. Great vibe.
G. G.
Decent little pub for a quick lunch and pint. But I see the barman take the Guinness he’d mispoured and pour it back from the trough back into a glass to serve a customer 😷 - so keep an eye when they pour your drinks!!
P. N.
Lambeth is one fine neighbourhood in London. One of its gems is The Three Stags. We stayed a week in The Days on the other side of Kennington and every day, after trips uptown, we had our sundowner in this place. Also had dinner twice. All to full satisfaction. Good beers, wines and gins. Dishes well prepared and served and tasty. Friendly and professional staff. Highly recommended.
M. T.
Honestly they have the best pub pizza in London. It's a bit far from where I usually go, but I would consider going back just for that tasty pizza.
J. P.
We had mussles in butter sauce and they were awesome! Beer is good, great English pub to spend a few hours at!
I. W.
Typical London pub offering a good selection of ales, lagers, stones and soft drinks. The menu is typical of this sort of establishment.
Staff are very friendly,
In a good location opposite the Imperial War ..
P. F.
Can't fault it. Friendly staff, well priced, pizzas were excellent and service was really good. Ifor you're expecting The Ivy you're in the wrong place, if you want a friendly local bar with good food and atmosphere look no further!!!
A. R.
Lovely place for a pizza. Fantastic portions and value for money. Friendly efficient staff. Right next to the imperial War museum.
A. B.
Awesome brownie and sticky toffee pudding!

Great Gastropub! Tasty food, wide range of beers on tap, pleasant atmosphere.
I will be back for sure!
G. N.
We had a table booked here on New Years Eve - the manager could not have made our night anymore special. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere everything you would want to bring in 2012! Thank you so much.
H. D.
Yummy pizza, fab service.
R. H.
Lovely place, menu changes every day, always tasty food, also it is dog friendly !
L. P.
Very disappointed by the portion size of mussels and chips for £14 . Mussles are so cheap and the main meal size portion was tiny! I was still hungry. Otherwise a nice pub
A. H.
My local from 2008 to 2012. Went back on Thursday evening. It was as good as I remembered. Friendly staff, great service and fantastic food and beer. If only it was still my local!
E. G.
Fabulous independent pub. There is great food but I guess it is a bit on the pricey side. The bar-workers are very welcoming and interesting to talk to. This is Kevin Spacey's local hang out.
L. A.
Very tasty food, highly recommend. My 10 yr old even said the crust on the pizza he had was the best he'd ever had and that's something coming from a pizza connoisseur!
S. B.
In London for an interview and was looking for somewhere local to eat and came across
the three stags on google ,, was easy to find and very clean , greeted by a friendly gent with good banter and table manner , had a pizza and hand cut chips food was excellent thoroughly enjoyed this meal , price was good too will definitely be visiting this place again
D. F.
Lively pub with a good selection of beers and lager. Great pizzas and a smaller room upstairs makes this a perfect venue for get togethers.
L. B.
Lovely food, drink and attentive staff
M. B.
Great pub with a nice feel, cool & friendly staff and an impressive menu. If only they served from the London Brewery but we can't have everything

M. B.
Good pizza, but i found the beer selection slightly limited with quite a few things not available. Friendly staff and good service.
D. K.
Was a little quite for my liking at the time of visiting however the atmosphere was still great. Staff was friendly and beer recommendation was spot on by the bartender.
D. T.
A little pub with lots of character. The usual drinks were available as well as some interesting ales. If you want food you must order from the owner.
M. S.
I had such a wonderful time at the Three Stags. I will definitely be back. :)
A.
Spacious and nice pub. Their pizza were fresh and delicious 😋. Staff were polite.

Pub with indoor and outdoor seating. Good beers, although a pint is a little expensive. Don't miss the home-made chips with garlic mayonnaise.

Full of locals. Attentive staff. Relaxed athmosphere. The Guiness is wonderful. The racist staff from the old days appear to have left the establishment. Recommended
