Reviews of The Two Brewers
J. G.
Friendly welcome, most silent pub ever I have been in London. Good pale ale here!
N. L.
Lovely pub. Haven't been in years. Was nice to see it again. Lewis is an awesome dude, with great taste in Metal music. Amazing Guinness.
D. S.
Traditional one-room corner pub on Whitecross Street.
Benefits greatly from the Food Market as it allows (positivity encourages) customers to bring their own food to consume on the premises (providing they buy drinks, of course). So very busy on weekday lunchtimes - particularly if the weather is good as the street is essentially pedestrianised - so conducive for outside drinking.
Good range of well kept ales and craft beers. Friendly staff. Good pub!
B. C.
Lovely candlelit pub with great atmosphere. You can bring your own food.
D. C.
Good little pub. Can be cramped inside but vertical drinking outside is always good fun.
S. J. H.
Great pub. You can bring your own food, good atmosphere and people, quick service under 5£ pints (quality for central London). Timothy Taylor’s on tap the best beer in London.
r. d.
A favourite pub in this area of town. Anywhere in fact. We used to buy lunch from one of the outstanding food stalls on Whitecross Street and bring it in here, as it had a 'bring your own' policy for lunch, which is a great idea and I hope is still in operation.
We'd have a cheeky pint or three while we were there as well of course.
Kate Moss popped in once.
M. R.
One of my favourites in the capital. Friendly staff, great beer and they let you bring in your takeaway food from the street market outside! Win!
M. L.
Nice quant pub located in Barbican. Staff were very friendly will definitely be returning
R. S.
Cramped place with grumpy staff. Half decent selection of beer. Nothing special.
S. K.
Great location as it is right near white cross market with great food. The pub allows you to bring in your own food and take a seat while you have a drink which I think is brilliant. It's quite a small pub so in order to get a seat at lunch time you'll need to get in there around 11:45am. Beer is always cold and fresh and service at the bar is very quick. Staff are also very polite.
A. M.
Great corner pub, lively and cheerful staff with a cosy ambiance. They have a nice selection of beers, very well kept. Nice staff, welcoming. Food taste the usual bar food, nothing special
S. S.
cozy place and great beers. outdoor seating available on street.
D. S.
Pretty nice pub with nice beer. Not too expensive given the area. It is pretty small so it gets very busy during the week. No food on sale but they are happy for you to take food in, during the week there is a brilliant food market right outside.
S. S.
Lovely local friendly pub. Happy for customers to eat food from outside - saw several people with pizza boxes from the nearby pizza takeaway.
New staff just recently started so had to keep an eye on the till to make sure we weren't overcharged, but nothing untoward.
D. C.
My first visit, and I thought it was wonderful. Two very professional, efficient and friendly female bar tenders, who had a smile, a greeting and a kind farewell to everyone who came and left while I was in there (you know, just like the 'old days'). Good beer, good prices. And their policy of allowing people to bring in their own food from the outside street food market is a great idea (the bar tenders also made sure to let everyone know that they would dispose of all the leftover wrappers, cartons, etc too). Great place, visit it.
D. C.
Popped in for a pint to have with a meal I brought in with me from Whitecross Street Food Market. Plenty of others that work in the area do the same, obviously a practical approach taken by the pub given the presence of a popular street food market right outside their front doors. Pleasant interior, lots of seating.
r.
One of my fav London pubs. Been drinking here on and off since early 00s Used to be a kind of East End local in them days until the law firms moved in. Then the Market went all food as time went on. Unrecognizable the area really. But the pub is still decent, used to play darts in here regular. Beer is always top draw, and the toilets that were hell back in 2000 are much better. Used to be run by a Yorkshire family I remember back in the day, then an Irish couple who got me drunk on Aftershock.
D. W.
Nice old school boozer frequented by city slickers and oldies alike. Great for after work drinks with character. A bit cramped inside so I have on many occasions been happy to perch outside with a drink in all climes! A stone’s throw away from Whitecross Lane market means that management are happy for you to eat food from the market on the tables outside.
M. P.
Good ales and gins. Typical city pub vibe and expenses which is also the typical city vibe. Very dark inside which is rubbish in the summer but there is a a tiny seating area but ample room to stand outside when the whether permits. As it's a really narrow building it can fill up very quickly so peak times can be a struggle.. nice pub though
b. k.
Fantastic pub! Always pleasure to have a nice cold Guiness!
P. J.
OK pub, bit expensive to say the least. Only a few tables outside as pictured. Service and staff gone down from previously when they use to have more staff from Europe
Does surprise of number of non-regulars that even on Thursdays and Fridays pub still closed at 11. Extended hours not used in consideration of local residents.
You can take your own food in to eat or even get deliveries there.
Will close on Bank Holidays and possibly the whole of Easter weekend.
N. C.
This is a decent pub with a good selection of beers and ales on tap. The staff let you bring food in and eat it there (and take the rubbish once you have finished!) so you can grab something from nearby Whitecross Street Market if you fancy. It can get pretty busy between 12:30 and 1pm.
A. S.
Traditional pub where one is allowed to take own food in, which is quite handy as there is a street food market right next door (at least on weekdays).
Nice staff and low level of background makes it an ideal pitstop
J. A.
It's pretty ok. Gets an extra start for being the lack of pubs around and for encouraging people to grab food from the market and sit down for a pint while you eat. Best selection is average and not really many surprises here
P. S.
Really chilled out local with great beers and friendly staff. And they let you bring in and eat the food you've just purchased at the amazing street food stalls outside in Whitecross St...
S. F.
A lovely little pub down Whitecross Street - closed or quiet on the weekend, but during the week it's a great place to come for a pint after work. During the day, when the brilliant food market is on, you can even take in your own food to have with a drink.
M. M.
Fantastic old skool style boozer with friendly staff, a good selection of drinks and a nice crowd. Can get very busy (it's good, so, obviously other people know) but still worth a visit even if you stand (after work crowd quickly leaves so keep an eye for a table).
D. H.
Nice little pub friendly staff
T. S.
Modest little pub tucked round the back of the Barbican. Friendly staff and a small selection of well kept beers. They don't sell food, but their USP is that they encourage you to bring in food from the next door Whitecroft Street market, where you can get desi curry, burritos, wraps and the like.
R. C.
So so pub, but depends on crowd, but mostly all good-natured and getting more expensive each year. Good to get food from nearby Waitrose to eat in there though. A place where people can relax, with bigotry noticeably absent
A. D.
Great pub! Lunchtime beer and you can take your own food in there. Pleasant bar staff make it a fantastic venue.
A. i.
Perfectly placed in one of London's best street food markets where you can bring your own food in and buy a drink. Quite basic inside but great atmosphere and real bonus to eat what you like in there.
M. D.
Historical pub in a charming location. You can bring your own food from the market which is a bonus!
G.
Always a nice pub to pop into for a pint. Good atmosphere. Can get packed some evenings when theatre night is on in the barbican but that's no bad thing.
d. f.
Great little corner pub. Great selection of beers and spirits plys they actively encourage you to bring your own food in.
J. D.
Proper old boozer. Good selection of well kept beers. No food so they allow you to bring your own which is a nice touch. Very convenient for the Barbican.
p.
Friendliest pub in the city!
S. K.
Cozy pub with friendly bartenders
R. p.
We got food in from the market outside!
There was a note on the door saying we could.
Best of both worlds, great food and a sit down with a drink!
Great idea, would do that again.
D. F.
OK pub, staff tend to be quite good, must be an absenteee landlord though I assume.
Annoying never opens past 11 in evening and closed Sundays and even all Easter weekend, so hardly serving the neighbourhood as a proper local.
P. C.
Friendly local pub with a good selection of beers.
S. D.
Lovely pub. You can take your food from the market and eat in the pub, although if you're doing that you might as well buy a few pints.
A. S.
Good selection of beers and well kept real ales (Tim Taylor, Doombar, and two from Purity Brewing co). You can take food in at lunch time from the street market (all sorts of street food from aroundme the world).
O. P.
Cosy classic pub, popular with the white collar afterwork crowd. Nice selection of beers, ales and other drinks, not so ample interior and a small outside seating area.
M. M.
Great cozy pub ideally situated for the wonderful Whitecross Street food market. You can actually enjoy your food bought there as long as you get a drink. Good choice of ales.
J. M.
Real London pub in great area. They let you bring your own food in. Often very busy. Basic drink selection.
A. (.
Best pub ever.
Wonderful owner
Freindly staff..great atmosphere 😁👍👍👍
A. D.
Great pub with a good atmosphere!! They don't serve food but you can order in whatever you like and they're happy for you to eat it there.
A. D.
Great atmosphere, great ales
J. M.
Excellent selection of ales. Three of my favourites. Harvey's Sussex, Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Purity's Mad Goose. Doombar too, but the less said about that one the better. Will definitely be stopping off here on the way home more often.
M. C.
Decent enough pub with a couple of ales on tap. You can also bring your own food for lunch too.
M. S.
Nice little pub, some OK drinks. Doesn't do food but evidently will allow you to bring in food from the market and shops nearby.
B. W.
Decent pub and you can bring in your food from the street market but you have to be early or late, especially on a Friday lunchtime!
H. F.
Good pub, let you bring in food (e.g. from Waitrose over the road), quite bright and airy despite being old with bags of character, reasonable selection of ales. V convenient for Barbican.
L. G.
Very nice pub. Good selection and good service. Little more expensive than regular but that's to be expected in central.
P. B.
Friendly traditional pub, the ideal place to eat your food from Whitecross Street Market. Can be busy at lunchtimes, but if you can get a table it's perfect.
M. R.
Nothing fancy. Just a good basic boozer. Best thing is they let you get food from the Whitecross Street Market and take it into the pub to have with a pint.
C. C.
Great beer, friendly staff
K. T.
Nice, clean and friendly pub. You can even take your own food !
S. H.

H. P.
Great local pub, bring you food in and enjoy the great beer!
A. B.
A good find just off one of the main streets. Very well kept ales and a traditional cozy boozer atmosphere. I will visit again.
J. L.
Great pub, nice location and you can bring food from the market outside. Friendly staff.
U. P.
Reasonably priced traditional pub, close to work with not-too-loud music - so good for long conversations!!
F. M.
Great local pub that allows you to sit in on market days with BYO lunch, and just have a drink.
A. R.
Great local pub for after work drinks. Traditional decor. Great selection of drinks. What more do you need!
J. A.
Good London boozer. Great selection of beers on offer in a well kept cellar. Something for everyone that attracts a wide range of people.
J. S.
Great old fashioned pub, nice beers, good bar staff and the added bonus of being able to bring in food from Whitecross Market outside.
C. B.
Very nice and relax pub with pool table and outdoor area. Popular with locals and students. I would recommend a visit if you are in the area
P. S.
Very convivial. Buy your meal from the adjacent market and settle in to enjoy it with a pint from their wide and eclectic selection.
E. W.
Great pub and love the fact that you can bring in your food from the market, BYOB but for food!
D. L. N.
Brilliant pub where you can eat food from the market if you get drinks. Great concept for a traditional pub.
R. H.
Tasty beer, friendly staff, and you can bring your lunch in from Whitecross Market for a Wednesday pint. Safe!
B. C.
Lovely little pub where you can eat your food from the street market with a pint of their delicious ale.
A. H.
Nice "old man" pub which was lovely an quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Great for people watching on one of the tables outside as people come and go from The Barbican.

Can't help but love this pub, Im pretty sure its the only pub still with a dart board in the square mile
L. D.
Small little pub with lovely staff and usual London beer and ale collection.
T. B.
Decent city boozer. Has a mixture of the afterwork city types crowd on weekdays, and the locals on weekends and nights - so the atmosphere can change quite quickly.
T. R.
They let you bring food in from the street market outside so a cracking little place to get a pint and enjoy your lunch.
w. s.
