d. m.The bar has a mature crowd on Saturdays. There are two rooms of music, ranging from jungle to soul, with many other genres in between. The bar is fairly empty around 8pm so this is a good time to grab something from the menu before the crowds arrive. The food prices are reasonable and the portions are plentiful. There is also a vegan option that looks very tasty. The mix of men to woman ratio is about 70/30. The average age was mid to late forties. There is a centre outdoor area that separates the two rooms of music, this has a bar and allows smoking. This would save you leaving the venue and standing on the street. Parking is limited, but this is typical for a bar on a main road in London. Overall I enjoyed my evening, the staff were very polite and professional. I would recommend paying it a visit.

If you want to have a nice night, with great conversation and amazing Disc Jockey's ON POINT, White Lion SW16 is your choice.
If ONLY the night lasted much longer than just 1am.

r.Popped in to get out of the rain, and what a find. Big pub, nice stage area, Monday Open Mic. Wonderful. We felt quiet guilty that we had sat on the front table near the stage and watch lots of acts free of charge. Will make it back for sure. Very talented musicians.

C.Friday nights party night yesterday. Great atmosphere, music would be good if it wasn't so distorted. DJs have an abundance of equipment but cant use it as bass line distorted and sometimes sounds like you are listening to two records at once. Pity as this spoilt the enjoyment. But made the best of it and had a good time.
S. “.I celebrated my birthday on a Friday evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. What I liked was the fact that everybody came to enjoy themselves and there was an awesome atmosphere. The crowd was mature and the music took me back in time with soul, rare and house. There was a touch of reggae too just enough to jog the memory. There was a another room if you needed to get a break from the crowd...but I didnt want to as loved the carnival atmosphere. People complain about the Bar being too busy or it not being plush enough, but for me this PUB venue for a night out trumps any other in SE London and wins my vote every time. Hats off to the WL for giving me a night to remember!

Generally nice atmosphere, good music and nice staff. My only criticism is that they needed too get rid of the bar stools and tables in front of the dj as space was limited due to amount of people and the extra furniture just got in the way.

G. J.So we went there with my gf and a friend for a "live art evening", where we all expected to have some fun. And it was fun to be honest, the hospitality was pretty good, we've been all offered different types of wine, bear etc as well as some snacks. The only thing that we found disappointing, was the fact there was no "live art" at all, but instead we've been asked to copy someone else's painting. I bet it would be much more fun if we actually got to try the live art, but the overall experience was quite pleasant regardless, as everyone's ideas were totally different.

D. M.One of the managers is a dj and he oftens plays a set himself. What I love about this pub is the atmosphere age group from early 20's up until 60+ but everyone is getting into the groove. It sometimes has the feeling of a nightclub when the choons are hitting the dance floor. Streatham Soul Club, Open mic nights and live P.A's by reggae, soul and jazz artists. If you're feeling hungry the menu at the White Lion will have something to suit everyone, from traditional roast dinners and fish and chips to Caribbean food. There can be a wait to be served at the bar at times which is frustrating.

J. T.Great local pub! Philomena the landlady is a lovely Irish lady like myself :) This pub was used as a film location in the London Irish show on Channel 4 so a bit famous. It's got a very large selection of drinks and snacks. Also for the single ladies it's a bit of a man cave as the 5 aside pitches bring some sweaty thirsty men in so there is a always a great atmosphere :) come join the fun!

S. S.I happened to stumble on the White Lion one Thursday lunch time and was served by a gorgeous and ever so polite lady. I had a pint of HPA and was tempted by their £5 lunch offer. Jerk Chicken was my choice - delicious!! A couple of weeks later I thought I'd sample the White Lion's Saturday night and I have to say it was the liveliest night I have seen in Streatham since moving here from East London in July 2015. These guys are clearly not your average pub or average chain pub that you could come across anywhere in London. They have a unique vibe and deserve to be supported. I am looking forward to sampling the Sunday Roasts. I wonder if they will give me discount after writing this review? LoL! Seriously, if you live in Streatham check the White Lion out for good food and decent music.
