Reviews of Truckles
D. M.
Tucked away in an easily overlooked yard on a side street near the British Museum, this watering hole is a personal favourite. Summer is a joy with many tables outside, and winter provides an opportunity to sit in the quiet chic modern wine-bar interior. The wine selection is good (if expensive) and the food is also to be recommended.

Spacious outdoor area, perfect for the summer, & they allow advance reservations. Coordinated our booking with Isabelle, one of the managers - she was very easy to work with!

We enjoyed private dining experience at Truckles. Food and service was excellent, we will definitely be back again.
A. R.
Wasn't busy when we visited so the experience was great. Had ordered for one of the platters (image attached) had a pint of lager on tap and a glass of wine.
Surely recommend a place for conversation not so noisy like the usual pub
T. C.
Used to always go here for after works drinks when I worked in Holborn. Lovely court yard surrounded by beautiful buildings. Staff are great too as they’re super efficient and friendly
S. S.
Never eaten only drunk here, beer selection is quite limited but the location is great, very friendly staff and a perfect outdoor area for alfresco drinking that manages to feel very relaxed despite its central location
P. W.
Nice surroundings and not too busy on the day that I visited in late October. Looks like somewhere which would be buzzing in the summer months. The only downside is the cost of drinking there - but, to be fair, that's true of similar establishments located in central London. One to try out again on a summer's day, for sure!

Great food, brilliant service, co-vid friendly,
Would recommend to all, including families.
Fantastic choice of wines and beers. Would go again.

Great fun little local bar. Perfect for after work drinks. My only gripe... owners or management should take into consideration that they don't have enough staff when they are at full capacity. The back area behind the bar and next to the kitchen is not operationally practically during busy service.

Tucked away behind the tourist traps surrounding the British Museum, this place is actually a little gem. It's called a wine bar but it does have other options. The draught beers on offer are Meantime and you can get a pale ale or London lager. The food is tapas and of very high quality. It's real strength is its outside area which is off the main road in a pretty square.

Ideal for a quiet mid-day / mid-afternoon vino, business meeting or long lunch out of sight year round.
Seasonally, the courtyard lacks sun in the Summer, but offers heat lamps in the winter and good atmosphere. Somewhat swamped during wine-time for the office set.
A. R.
Nice place. Not as much space inside, but lots of space outside in the courtyard. Has a basement level as well. Have given 4 starts as it can get crowded, and I do not like crowds.
R. H.
This place is a real "wine bar" and very popular within wine drinkers.
Personally, I like beer and whiskey, which are within a very thin selection.
Most of the visitors are people that work nearby and know the place ( it is kind of hidden within a building)

Cool nice burger bit too pricey great staff
H. P.
Lovely little bar hidden away from the busy streets, easily missed if you dont know its there but the food and beer is great and they have a nice outside area for the summer
R. D.
Interesting menu, decent food in a lovely courtyard in good weather. Quiet and secluded. Service good if a bit slow.
M. L.
Great place to catch a beer or glass or something in the sun outside. Not a big selection of drinks and inside is a bit meh. Gets sun in the evening. After work / media crowd.
G. M.
Nice place for a drink with lots of character. I feel that it is understaffed as it took a while to get served and also for one of the waiting staff to clear our plates. Having said that the staff were very friendly.
J. B.
Hidden away so generally quiet most evenings. Plenty of room in the basement if you want to reserve some space for a gathering. Sit outside in summer.
C. H.
Slightly tucked away, Truckles is a good spot to grab a table for a larger group of people, either in the sunny terrace or modern interior for wine and snacks. Reasonably priced and reasonably calm for the area.
r. h.
Nice place but slow service. Staff avoided serving it seems. Off the beaten track a little so nice for a quiet drink
C. T.

Great wine, good place to sit outside in a secluded courtyard

Expensive. But it's London, what do you expect? Pleasant atmosphere though. And it's the company that often makes a place.
