Reviews of Vaulty Towers
C. T.
Wow what a find, a great quirky bar with a great selection of beers and quality food. You find yourself walking around the bar looking at all the items around the bar. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend, definitely worth hunting this gem out.
L. H.
Had an amazing evening here. Everywhere you look is full of amazing things. So much thought has gone into the decor and atmosphere. Drinks weren't super expensive and music was awesome!
M. S.
What a great little bar. We found it during a treasure hunt in London and the staff were extremely friendly. The prices where very good for London and the inside was like a wonderland with little nooks and crannies for seating. Very very nice atmosphere and a real hidden gem. Also worth noting that food is available and is 100% vegan. We did not try the food as we wanted something else.
A. B.
Really nice bar with lovely staff. I loved the decor so much. Perfect place to hang out after having a walk down leake street.
K.
I love the place and visited it many times before the pandemic. It still is a great place with a fantastic atmosphere and lovely people....but the new menu is just awful. The Mac n cheese was stoggy and dry. The buffalo 2.0 wings were insanely salty (and I do tend to eat too salty). I left half of it. It was that bad. I also bought some Rennie 5 min after. I'm sure it resolvable but in the meantime I'll maintain a liquid diet when there.
L. D.
This was a great place to stop off for a quick drink after a visit to Leke Street to see the graffiti. Great pub interesting interior
J. M.
Fun eclectic/ kitsch drinking hole. The pub quiz and slushies were great. Just wish they fixed the "literal" hole that leads onto the street in the basement- makes the smell of sewage from outside(?) waft in.
T. C. F. C.
Loved this little gem and its nooks and crannies and bar maids jelly fish ear rings :)
J. J.
Quirky alert! One of the coolest bars around, the decoration is great and some tables offer more private seating. All round cool place to go. However, my dark and stormy was not a dark and stormy... not sure if that was due to inexperience or if they were out of the right rum!
C. F.
Proper quirky little bar. We sat outside for drinks but I’d go back and sit inside because it looked great
J. M.
Great choice of drinks, excellent atmosphere, and a very quirky interior with all sorts of freaky props and such. Also has a cool 'tree' house and very friendly staff! Can recommend and would visit here again.
M. V. V. I.
Friendly staff. Good service. Great ambiance. Serves mouth-watering 100% Vegan dishes.
J. R. G.
This is a delightful little spot with some good beers on tap, plenty of interesting nooks and crannies for sitting, and a lychee cocktail not to be missed.
A. P.
Quirky, fun and chill vibe at this pub. Fits into the neighborhood well. I'd look forward to coming back here and trying more pints/places to sit.
N. B.
One of my favourite bars in London. Full of interesting, obscure & slightly menacing objects that make you feel like you've just walked into the set of The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe or Sebastian's flat from Blade Runner. Very busy & loud at the weekend. My only criticism is there is quite a limited range of beers.
A. C.
Great location, great decor! Decent people (maybe too young, but still excellently behaved, The door women are just adorable!
T. P.
Wonderfully eccentric surroundings, excellent use of space and amazing drinks that I have never tried before. Staff are great too xx
B.
Cool and quirky decor, great drinking spot if you're close to Waterloo station. Grabbed some nachos but they weren't the best so I wouldn't order those again. Great range of beers and gins and they have indoor and outdoor seating!
M. S. H.
This place has a great vibe and very friendly staff. yummy vegan treats. one of my favourite places in London
K. G.
Really cool pub! Quirky, mad decor, random stuff everywhere, cool vibe. Different seating options, got your normal tables but can also sit in a treehouse, a moon, mini gardens, soooo cool! Didnt know where to look! The drinks were decent priced for London. Got a vodka lemonade, gin lemonade and a white wine for £20
J. M. B.
Quirky pub with friendly vibes. Decent selection of drinks and vegan chicken-style menu
A.
Great pub on a small street behind Waterloo with lots of interesting shops etc. The food is very good quality and the portions are generous. The design/decor has to be seen to be believed, but don't let it put you off
D. L.
Good fun bar near Waterloo with good range of beer and quirky decor
S. P.
Super quirky bar with very cool interior design. They have a life drawing class in the basement on Saturdays, went for that and drinks!
A. L.
Brilliant pub close to Waterloo Station. Make sure to check out the ladies bathroom window displays - lovely taxidermy. Really Cool vibe and atmosphere. Cashless system, tap to pay for everything.
I. M.
Perfectly bonkers gem of a bar. Fun and caring staff, great bohemian atmosphere with a selection of quirky 'hideouts' in which to sit. Interesting beers and food which was full of great flavour. Conveniently close to the Bakerloo line. Looking forward to our next visit.
V. L.
Fun and eccentric establishment very near to Waterloo station so handy for pre-travel drinks or as a meeting point for those coming into town from the South-East.
Faulty Towers has an expansive menu of drinks, including beers on tap and some other items including the very fun alcoholic slushies! Ours had quite a good slug of booze in it - probably a little too much in fact but it's a fun idea. Service was a little slow but nothing unusual in London these days.
H. F.
Awesome for drinks and attitude!
D. T.
Lovely people working here and a delightful place to drink or eat and unwind. A style all of it's own! + all of the decorations are from the Vault, a theatre located in Graffiti alley. Went and visited, this is a place where people go and express themselves, art lasts a day, a week or maybe longer. The smell of low molecular propellers is pervading. However, men at work and didn't feel threatening in any way. Headache now, thanks aromatics.
K. L.
Highly recommend a visit, really funky quirky deco with amazing bar staff who know how to make a cocktail or 8.
E. r.
Love the quirkyness of this bar. If you like something out of the ordinary then you must go! Good selection of beers and gins!
A. T.
Loved this pub, wish it was my local. Quirky decoration, great music and atmosphere. Loved it.
A. S.
Nice local pub. Very busy place, you'd better book by email or phone. Food is very nice, especially the tacos. Choice of beers is also alright.
R. E.
Fantastic pub, really friendly staff, really welcoming. Safe, friendly, a little off the beaten track so not full of the 'usual crowd'.
Nice selection of drafts and cocktails.
K. R.
Just came across this place. A cool venue. Would love to go back.
O. M.
Amazing venue! The entire bar and seating areas are decorated with theatre props! Little tree house like booths to site with friends, great staff and great drinks 👍🏻
K. L.
Such a cool, quirky pub with an exciting design and amazing vegan food
S. H.
This is a really quirky pub. It's full of wierd and wonderful props and seating areas. They have a good selection of drinks including some great wines. Bit pricey for food but they do have a good selection of dishes that are great for sharing, including a great range of vegetarian food. It's less than a 5 minute walk from Waterloo station and is a good place to go pre-theatre to the Old Vic. Also a good place for after-work food/drinks.
F. R. R.
Fab little place - great drinks, friendly staff & a cool vibe in there! Definitely recommend!
J. J.
An amazing bar with friendly staff, I was amazed by the decor and how engaging it is. Loved the experience, great music!
S. K.
Really friendly staff, the service is a little bit slow tables outside on the street reasonably priced for the area
D. B.
Fantastic pub, loads of atmosphere and fully vegan. Stumbled upon this and I can't wait to go back!
R. S.
Nice bar with a chill and layed back atmosphere. Nice choice where to have a drink during week days also.
H. G.
My favourite bar in Waterloo, great for everything from a date to a work drinks (if your work is funky)
H. G.
Wonderful place to relax with live music. Uniquely laid out pub with little private 'booth'-like areas for quiet conversation.
M. L.
Lovely staff and great food, relaxed bar with friendly patrons, I'd definitely return on my next trip to SE1.
A. O.
Came for the name of the pub and stayed for the amazing beer selection, good food, and interesting vibe and decor.
A. D.
Such a quirky little bar. The first time we came across this bar was in a pre-christmas period and it was so busy there was nowhere to sit. But we came back on a Monday afternoon when it was quieter and enjoyed a pint. Worth a visit if you are in the area - a good selection of drinks and really friendly staff
R. W.
Quite an otherworldly bar: lots to look at so you womt run out of conversation starters and very decent tastimg and sized vegan burgers
K. S.
Wonder weird place full of costumes, props and hidden nooks and crannies. Saturday morning there is a good life drawing class in the basement. Only slight thing was the staff were a bit dismissive and seemed a bit annoyed to serve
N. M.
Really good decor and atmosphere, not a great selection of drinks though, no cask ale 😔
I. R.
Decor is amazing and staff is friendly. Beers are ok but very classic. Definitely worth a visit though! Loved it.
s. p.
ridiculously lovely people at the bar. busy or quiet literally the best vibes <3
J.
This place is great, so different & fun with all the little random spots to sit & the staff were lovely too.
C. B.
very curious and interesting place lot going on the clientele is extremely unique I would say the cocktails are half decent the best thing about this place is you can come chill out with your mates listen to some reasonably Leftfield music and explore what the evening has to offer!
E. W.
Ciao grazie mille. Intriguing decor, tasty drinkies and nice staff. Thanks :)
C. n. E.
Great night last night very very drunk welsh man and wife leavin
Bar staff couldn't do enough for us on our first visit to London Fantastic
N. S.
Lovely food, especially some of the vegetarian options. Say hello to Miso (the mayonnaise loving cat) if you get chance too!
S. T.
Wonderful pub. Great atmosphere. Good beer. Not too loud
J. R.
I love Vaulty Towers. It's one of my favourite places to take non-Londoners for drinks because it's such a weird, unique kind of place which could only really exist in London.
The whole place is filled with neon, fairy lights, and strange esoteric decorations which look like the cast-offs of old theatre productions. Actually, I believe Vaulty Towers has some affiliation with the nearby Vaults theatre, so that's probably exactly what they are.
You can drink at traditional chairs and tables in the basement or in treehouses, caverns, or a cabaret dressing room snug on the ground floor.
The music is good, pop-heavy fun hits that everyone will love, and the drinks are reasonably cheap for a Central London place. I feel like there's an opportunity for a more expansive drinks menu, maybe with more cocktails, but there's enough that everybody should be able to find something to their liking.
I've never tried the food personally, but it always looks and smells delicious when I've seen other people eating it.
J. G.
Great, spent an enjoyable Saturday afternoon/evening here.
Quirky interior, with multiple nooks and crannies, cosy in an unusual way....
C. H.
Really cool place in the heart of London. Great beer, amazing staff, and love the decor!
I. M. P.
It's a crazy place where you will definitely have fun! Decorated with lots of different kinds of stuff, like Halloween decorations, graffiti, some areas look like home cinema or like tree houses.! It's really positively crazy! You will love it.. So different from any other place! This is something you need to experience! Staff and drinks are lovely as well and it's very close to Waterloo station.
S. U.
Quirky pub with decent beer/lager selection near Waterloo. A "must" if you are in the area.
K. O.
We went to Bingo here it was epically FUN! Had such a great time! The venue is very cool with graffiti, moody lighting and had a few events going on at the same time.
P. C.
Quirky independent bar with a hotch-potch of decoration. Plenty of seating in the basement as well. They have no real choice of beer or wine, thinking bid themselves mainly as a cocktail place, but the atmosphere makes up for it. I haven't eaten here, but there are interesting things in the menu, several of them distinctly vegan looking.
B. S.
Gorgeous, quirky bar with a brilliant vibe. Lovely, passionate staff who will help whenever possible. Can be cramped at times, and difficult to get a seat after about 7pm unless you have eyes like a hawk
L. C.
Different vibe of a pub which makes it cool to visit as the decor is so different and makes you feel in a different word. Beers are on the pricey side. Got tacos as well and they were pretty good. Will probably come back...
S. B.
Such a cool and quirky wee venue! Definitely worth checking out if in the area.
K. R.
Amazing pub, friendly staff and some really cool decor. This is definitely one to go to
R. M.
Awesome, mad, friendly and a great place to drink. Remember to book if you want a funky table though
D. S.
Decent querky pub. Friendly staff and some where different to enjoy a pint. Nice break from the norm!
A.
Excellent evening when we came for secret cellar show with Brendan Rodrigues. Quirky venue with awesome small theatre space in the basement. Well worth booking a magic show and having some cocktails. Will definately return again.
J. A. M.
Its a small place but very charming, had a lovely time there with the family and the props were really creepy but lovely all the same! Prices were on the good side and toilets were so clean!
W. W.
The jazz is amazing! A must do in London. Love the owner and his wife.
R. M.
Unique, bizarre, memorable. This pub is certainly a place to visit more than once, with an unique wonderland type of decoration and ambience, definitely something you'll remember!
S. R.
A gorgeous quirky little pub with a great selection of gins and good music
s. w.
Very fun pub, great atmosphere and very close to the vaults.
t. p.
Nice beer nice bar nice staff good atmosphere and great decoration
A. C.
Great pub!
Really good with me and my family with three kids, the barman even chucked in a bit of Welsh for us 😀
D. K.
Very funky place to come for drinks. I love the interior design; each corner having its own style and feel. Very cool!!!
N. M.
A little hidden gem, cocktails downstairs until 23h and beers and wine upstairs
Very cozy, and homly
S. W.
Great place. Little quirky, nice vegan food!
E. T.
Great decor .. really enjoyed the buttermilk chicken burger.. can't wait till they open inside as it was really cold outside... it would be great if they would add some blankets...
B. M.
This place is so quirky and there are lots of hidden seating areas - although the majority were reserved so be prepared to stand. Great theatre artifacts and the food was yummy.
J. D.
One of the coolest and most eclectic bars.
The decor is amazing and there are lots of hidden corners to enjoy a cosy meal or cocktail.
Well worth a visit to find out its secrets.
D. R.
Such an interesting place with different themed tables throughout! I went with my best mate for a couple of quiet drinks, but this would be a great place to have a birthday party!
G. n. w. a.
(English text see below) Echt coole Bar, eher durch Zufall entdeckt... Freundliche Angestellte, speziell dekoriert.
Really cool bar which my mate and I discovered randomly while looking for the next underground station. Friendly staff, very special decoration.
B. S.
Fun, quirky pub with great vegan food
A. C.
Great bar, great atmosphere, incredibly busy
W. H.
Fantastic pub. Looks great after lockdown. Tables are reasonably spaced out. Food is absolutely fantastic. Beer is reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and attentive. Couldn’t ask for more.
Y. S.
If you're looking for different and a laugh this is a perfect place! Love their sense of humour.
H.
Fantastic nooks to explore and hide in for a drink! Good selection of drinks and brilliant seasoning on their skinny fries.
r. b.
Brilliant just Brilliant one of the best bar around this area a must for anyone visiting London South of the Thames
C. L.
Wow if you want an eating experience that you will remember for all the right reasons this is the place to go
M. W.
Love it! Quirky, good beer, good atmosphere, quality music!! #TerrySaysNoToStraws. Good old Terry!
L. R.
Love this place and good food menu. O ly ossue is finding somewhere to sit.
S. S.
Amazing pub, the interior is super interesting and pretty crazy, had a great atmosphere and it was reasonably priced. Only thing was the cocktails weren't the best but to be honest after a couple of drinks I didn't care!
J. A.
Ok for a pint if you like their selection and leave it at that
You will need to pay your bill just after you order your food, just in case you mightn’t like it
And you might not , as for everyone that’s ever worked in a pub, their two meals on offer have been cooked in old oil..
Have your drink and move on, or not..
H.
Really nice find. Great friendly service and interesting decor. Just had drinks bit I would definitely return!
A. A.
So nice we found this place on the way home. So cool atmosphere!
C. S.
Really interesting place with a lot of decoration and nice food
L. A.
Great fun pub
D. R.
Kind of cool place. Decor cool. Upper seating areas cool. Just cool. 😎
S. W.
Great little pub with a unique theme. Fun place for a drink and on a street that is not too crazy, so you don't have to negotiate herds of drunk people to get there
R. S.
We went there several times as part of the Vault festival. The pub itself is a bit quirky, but in a cool way. It was really busy, but a really good atmosphere with a good range of lagers (not just trendy IPA's etc). Would definitely go again if I was ever in the area.
R. A.
Stumbled across this place randomly.
Thought was amazing loved how different it was.
Only thing id say is please get more dark rum choices:)
C. C.
Busy bar, but good service. Korean burgers a treat. Attentive staff and good laugh.
j. r.
Enjoyed a night with work pals in here. Quirky decor and busy on a Friday night
K. K.
Amazing atmosphere, despite covid restrictions in place! Very quirky lookin and kinda spoopy! The staff are nice, and the food is actually amazing the vegan burger is the best vegan burger I've ever had. I also recommend the hummus with pitta bread!!
Will come again for sure.
M. T.
Stopped here for a couple of drinks. Service are friendly and the atmosphere really cool. I will definitely go back.
A. L.
Love it. Had a few first dates in here and the quirkiness and helpfulness of the bar staff is always a massive plus. Food is AMAZING. Drinks selection is good. Love this spot.
K. D.
Super nice, quirky place. The Negroni is amazing and the staff is so so lovely. Try to get Richie as your waiter, he’s the best!
G. P.
In terms of uniqueness, this pub is off the chart!
If you want a pint somewhere different, this is a great place to go! The atmosphere is great, the service is spot on, waiting staff are so friendly and the selection of drinks is also really good!
E. R.
This place was decorated uniquely and had a relaxed atmosphere. The menu was very limited, perhaps because of corona. However, the vegan burger is one of the best around.
S. K.
Loved it so much in here. Really good beer and amazing ambiente.
G.
Vibe and atmosphere created by the decoration was great, drinks pretty good as well!
J. C.
It's as lively and busy as everyone says. The seating areas are qwerky, but it is most definitely style over substance. The drinks were cool. I didn't have any food, though it did smell bloody good. All-in-all, it's a perfect walk in place, just don't walk in with a group bigger than 3
C. P.
Slightly apprehensive at first but once inside it was brilliant. Quirky, fun and interesting. Good pint of real ale, friendly staff and the cellar bar was fab. Would have given it 5 stars if they did a simple beef/cheese burger. Oh, and loved the life drawings on the walls downstairs.
B. C.
Nice bar staff, awesome pub and reasonable food. Not too cheep but it is in the centre of London.
J. B.
Quirky, chilled, and eccentric spot in Waterloo. Friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks, and great creatively styled booths to sit in. Will definitely come back, great place to bring friends who are visiting and want to see a side to London that isn't a slug and lettuce, or be at one.
M. C.
Great atmosphere lovely people 👍
L. K.
The atmosphere and creepy decor make this pub a worthwhile visit. Many little hideaways inside the pub makes it feel cosy and is great for small groups. The only downside is that drinks can be a little pricey.
W. K.
Fun place for Friday drinks 😂
H. W.
Lovely LGBT pub with a fantastic vibe. Went on a Sunday and there was live music and a life drawing class. The life drawing teacher and model were both fantastic, bar staff were really friendly, excellent music, decor and overall vibe!
M. P.
Terrific cocktails downstairs and a renewed ambiance with fun music, just outside Waterloo station in the always pinturesque Lower Marsh
M. H.
Quirky and original pub. Really liked the atmosphere there. Apparently there is a comedy club in the basement on Sunday but did not visit. V good live musician playing. Reasonable prices for drinks considering its location in the heart of London.
M. H.
Nice quirky pub with cool decor
C. D.
Very quirky place, a change from the usual pubs out there. The decoration is all over the place, in an endeering way, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are not outrageous like a lot of places in London and they have quite a few tasty option on the menu. Will definitely be going back!
L. T.
Nice staff, very friendly and cool pub, very quirky.
T. A. B. D. T. U.
Wickedly interesting pub, quirky packed with personality, and buzzing! Fantastic staff with plenty of banter, worth the tube trip!
We had Guniess, Cider, lager and a few shots, and had a great time, all the drinks were spot on!
A. L.
Cool looking place, a bit quirky, like Halloween party
D. R.
Popped in for a cheeky pint before heading out and it's a wonderfully quirky place. Love some of the seating areas. Great range of different drinks and friendly team working. Will definitely visit again if in the area.
R. M.
Great pub. Dog friendly 🐶
K. R.
Awesome atmosphere and design. Limited drink and cocktail selection.
C. R.
Quirky, fun and friendly.
A good selection of beers, wines and spirits; great music; cool live events dotted throughout the week and a small, but delectable bar menu.
The only downside is that it can be too popular. Expect to see a lot of reserved signs on tables if you pop in for a casual visit.
C. S.
Very cool bar with lovely decor and a house cat!
K. M.
Wow.
Such a quirky place. Outside looks like a quiet and kind of dingy place...
But wow...
Went inside and it's got the best, craziest and bizarre decor. Felt like a tourist taking photos of everything I could see..
Great staff
Great drinks.
M. D.
Fun...small and busy but all good and nice staff
P. M.
This place is simply amazing. The staff is,well, as crazy and fun as the pub itself. The decor you have to see it for yourself, but secret dungeon entrance to downstairs, carpet on the ceiling, giant skeleton hand... Amazing! Superb atmosphere and decent prices (it is London afteral). Went there twice in the same week, enough said :)
M. K.
This place is awesome and super creative. Where else in London can you sit on the moon or in an indoor treehouse? :)
D. B.
I have been here 2 nights in the past week. It's amazingly great. Very relaxed, solid service and a brilliant atmosphere. It's so good I don't want to recommend it in case you go...
There were students, millenials, old people (me) and really old people (students parents) in here. It really is easy going for all. Unless you are deaf and want to drink in a morgue.
C. C.
Cool, quirky, funky & fun place for drinks & dance. Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday on a Saturday. The staff & especially Ricky, were very helpful, flexible & accomodating, from reserving tables for a large party, accepting & storing birthday cake delivery.
Everyone in the party love the venue & vibes. Nice & tasty food selection with international flavours. Highly recommend it & we'll be back. Thanks Ricky & team!
C.
Absolutely lovely staff! They all made our night even better! Also great food!
A. D.
Favourite pub in the area. Fun decor, friendly staff and drinks aren't overpriced for the area. Lots of little cubby holes to sit in. The frozen drinks in the slush puppy style machines are great (and strong!).
N. M. M.
Faulty Towers is a favour venue, inside you will find different interesting areas all this a slight different theme and flavour! The service is wonderful too, food and coffee is a valuable to customers so if you fancy a light fun meal, a drink and catching up or just something a little different this is definitely the place to go! We loved it so much we keep going back again and again! Highly recommended!
J. H.
What a great bar - love love loved the interior with the crazy decor and loads of little books and crannies! Good beers and so wanted to eat every plate that came out of the kitchen in front of us, from the wings to the huge roast cauliflower, next time I will stuff myself!
C. G.
Really great atmosphere and good food. Felt shooed out at the end of the night while others lingered. But, we had a great time and one of the bartenders was really kind and helpful.
W. M.
Very cool! When we went they had 90’s ish rock upstairs and more ambient music downstairs. Cocktail selection is limited but they are good and reasonably priced. Definitely on my list of places to revisit.
J. K.
Great pub, nice selection of food and drink, albeit quite a small selection due to the current times. Would definitely go there again!
J. K.
Went on a Friday and was bustling, the decor is unusual and edgy but the more functional design should be better. Good, eclectic music but no dance floor yet also way too loud to talk and the seating is cramped. There's a more intimate cocktail bar downstairs but you can't bring drinks from upstairs. It's a cool place to hang out but I'm like 'wait, are you a bar or a pub?'
D. S.
Great little place near Waterloo and the Leake Street Tunnel (good for a little art tour).
It has the feel of a theatre back lot. Tables are merged with dramatic props and scenery allowing you to snag a quick pint in the moon or hidden away in a tree house.
That being said the good tables go quickly during peak hours but regardless it remains an interesting and unique place to grab an arty drink.
c.
Remember to book if you are coming here as it's very popular! Cashless bar means quick service too. A quirky pub that's hidden away and worth a visit.
N. K.
An absolutely amazing pub! Decorated in a beautiful and Bazaar fashion with props and set pieces from old shows, each area of the pub has its own feel. Fairly priced and delicious food, plus a good selection of bear, wine, and cider.
s.
Discovered this brilliant place as I was at Lower Marsh.
Inside the decor is quirky and every corner is has a surprise.
I loved the treehouse, girly hideout as well as silver moon corner.
The Vaulty Tower offers lunch as well as drinks at reasonable prices.
L. *.
Staff and customers where very friendly, lots of IPA and ciders to try on draught which is always a good thing! The inside lives up the expectations you draw from the exterior decor painted by Marc Craig. It is full of trinkets, lighted signage and hideaways. Don't be scared of the taxidermy in the ladies. I warn you there is a badger. The vibrant atmosphere is upheld by the customer and everyone is really friendly and happy to squeeze up and share tables.
Keep up the good work guys. Congrats!
P. M.
Very quaint and quirky bar! We just stopped for a quick drink but on a sample of one it is a fun spot to bring people to in the Waterloo area. Nice staff, cool seating arrangements.
S. Y.
Quirky drinking place with little seating nooks!
H. v.
This place is so funky and cute. Great beer selection and great food.
P. G.
A fabulous, funky, totally surprising pub with decor like nothing you've ever seen before. If you've got an hour to kill before a train, pop out of Waterloo to find it. It's on Lower Marsh Rd and you won't regret the trip. You can also hire the basement for private parties. And of you're there around lunchtime on a Friday there's a great street food market right outside. Normal London prices, lovely staff .
A. S.
Great wee pub with lots of nooks to sit and chat, including a whole cocktail bar downstairs.
L. P.
Absolutely mental pub, with decor worthy of Burton's broken imagination. Drinks are served quickly, and it's a great atmosphere. Dinky place so get there early if you fancy a seat.
D. T.
Only been here for drinks, but the decor is cool and funny if you want something different, creating a nice atmosphere. The service was quick and the prices reasonable. A nice alternative if you are around the Waterloo area. You can also book semi-private booths within the props, great for a date!
R. L.
Very eclectic feel, fun place for drinks. Good food but the taco portions were quite small. My fiance got the jerk chicken and it was delicious, would recommend.
N. H.
Funky little spot with unusual decor. Outside is covered in a spectacular mural. Inside they have created some unique little snugs. My favourite is the tree hut. Not for everyone but definitely fun.
M. H.
Absolute debauchery! The pub quiz on a Monday night are out of this world! The food
is surprisingly good (get the fish fingers OMG) the staff are friendly and the drinks are well priced.
You can’t beat the decor either! Have a feeling it’s all props from The Vaults... you find something new every time.
N. C.
Great place to have a couple of drinks.
B. D.
Very nice place with a ton of nooks and crannies to hide in. Or when it gets a bit too raucous, or there's a quiz on, you can slide away the bookcase and descend into the cellar. There's no bar below decks, though, so you'll have to venture back up to grab another drink.
I love the decor and the food was amazing. They had a popup at the time which I believe rotates so I'll look forward to paying it another visit.
O. B.
Keep your secret prohibition style bars and your traditional English pubs. This place is weird as hell and it's my favourite drinking spot in London. The moment you walk through the door you're transported into a different world - it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland with its mish-mash decor. I've been here on a Saturday night when it's packed and on at noon on a Sunday when there's no one in there but us and I've enjoyed the experience regardless. Find a kooky corner to call your own, have a chat with the super friendly bar staff, and wrap your lips around a perfectly poured pint or some tasty food. The meals are a mixed bunch of pub grub and random dishes but everything is nice, although I think they could do with some more vegan options.
There are also shows and events downstairs every week so there's no excuse not to come back here time and time again.
A. E.
Very unusal place friendly service and serves food
K. W.
Barely any of the reviews mention the food. Which is disappointing because we almost didn't come in since we were unsure how the food will be. It's clearly a fun and unique bar with tacky decorations.
So the food?
Poutine was amazing.
Tacos very good too.
The tipsy peacock cocktail downstairs was tasty.
S. G.
Very qwirky and friendly atmosphere
R. F. T.
Eclectic, exciting, expen... No, wait - expect! Expect a great night here! The small rooms are highly sought after but are absolutely great for groups - I only discovered this recently through a friend, and boy have I been back since. I'm just confused by how many good-looking customers there are!
E. Z.
Love this place. Relaxed and fun crowd, bar staff are really cool. Lots of mad stuff everywhere - awesome trinkets, old set designs and quirky seating hidden in random places.
R.
Had a great time there !
S. J.
Friendly enough place with some wacky decor. Good beer and the food smelled nice although I didn't eat. I was there in the afternoon but reckon you'd have a good night if you went in the evening.
A.
First thing you'll notice is the odd layout of the place, with tables in treehouses and tucked under stairs there are places to seek some privacy. Waterloo so the clientele is still pretty suited but the place has comedy some nights and the staff are kinda alt which leads to a weird friendly mix. Good fun.
G. I. C.
It's still the best drinking hole in Waterloo.
k. c.
The best pork belly i ever had 👍
M. B.
Really accommodating with booking. Got a nice place under the tree with less than a week’s notice. The boozy slushies are great. Got crowded around 10 or 11 so for an antisocial gremlin like me it was perfect around 8 PM.
U. K.
This place lifts the Lower Marsh up. The decor puts a smile on your face. There are little nooks and a tree house to sit in. The music is not too loud and absolutely great (50s American pop). The staff is nice. Foodwise onlly had the tacos and they are OK as a snack (£7 for 3). Beer, however, is expensive; £5.40 for a pint of IPA. A must visit, though.
K. M.
A very quirky experience like no other. Great setting, lots of different themes inside to suit everyone. Huge selection of drinks with friendly staff. Great for birthdays!
A. D.
Nice place but avoid food
G. J.
Love the bar so would easily have had 5 stars... if it had a beer single beer by an independent brewery on tap (or in a can or bottle). It’s not like there’s a shortage of good breweries in this part of London!
T. l.
Quirky place. Really funky random theatrical decors with nice secluded booths you can pre-book.
Staff is nice and quite efficient, they also have food although I didn't try it.
Worth a stop!
K. L.
Fun night, fun venue!
G. C.
An interesting an quirky bar. Little nooks, strange decorations, odd seating, flamboyant scenery and a arty atmosphere. It is like a mash up of a cabinet of curiosities and a dreamscape made by DIY scavengers. The beer selection is good, if a little unadventurous and isn't any different to many other bars so it seems that they are missing a trick there, they could shine with individuality beyond the interior trimmings.
L. B.
Visually this place looks like all the props left over from the Vaults theatre were left at this bar and they used that to decorate the space. It's great! Everywhere you look a different theme or aesthetic covers a secret nook, a bold wall or a cosy seat.
Additionally they know how to pour a drink (the house whiskey is choice between Jamesons and Jack, so you know the drinks are good quality) and their chips hit the spot. This may be the new fave.
T. G.
I will give it 4. It was perfectly lovely. They don't take cash and look like a Mermaids dressing table inside. I had a pint and left. I could care less re the booths and sofas. However. Their Tacos. The BLOODY tacos. Why oh why must you lot ponce about? Make some cheap chili 🌶 and offer that as a filling. Not David Attenborough'twice cooked gazelle.
M. Z. v. B.
This is the final stop of the Cheshire cat hunt. The pub is quite interesting decoration wise and has a good ambient. I only had one drink so I can't really say much about prices
N. M.
Fun and whacky decor, decent beers and very quick service for a busy summer night. Definitely worth a visit if you are with friends or even by yourself and fancy something a bit different.
J. S.
Fun place and great veg food (there’s nonveg too). My friend and I went here last night (booked a table for 5:45pm) and got a two-seater under the bunting-festooned loft. We ended up staying for 6 hours!!! I got the North African aubergine and the roasted aubergine tacos 🌮. (OK so I love me some aubergine). Both were delicious, although the former could have been a bit hotter temperature-wise. The former was sprinkled with a generous amount of seasoning and crunchy seeds and plenty of tahini. It was a nice-size medium aubergine as well. The tacos are mini tacos and whilst I was disappointed they were fried shells, they were bursting with a soft aubergine and pepper filling that had me licking my fingers. The bar’s sweet potato fries are also AWESOME and I’m picky on my sweet potato fries. Charred just right and with a flavorful seasoning, I gobbled they up. My friend said her chicken wings were quite spicy. We got diet cokes to start and then I had 2 glasses of sauv blanc (decent) and she tried each of the frozen drinks in the blender (lychee and passion fruit). I’ve never been a frozen drinks person but I have to say these are quite tasty (and strong). Thought at £7 for a teeny glass I thought a bit too much.
But the soundtrack is amazinnng. Fun 80s, 90s and early 2000s pop hits.
S. P.
Fun place to go. Great fit out. Good range of drinks and cocktails downstairs + very friendly service. Will definitely advise and return again
B. T.
The jackfruit Wellington offered on Sundays is great, and the sides are good. Offered a couple of decent IPA's also. A cashless bar, so don't forget your contactless debit card.
D. H.
If you like quirky, then this is the bar for you. There is very little normal here, except the drinks which were reasonably priced (for London) and well kept. Worth a visit if in Waterloo.
S. P.
Stumbled upon this place while walking past and recognising the giant hand props used in a show at a nearby theatre. Went in and fell in love with this unique place straight away.
Using props from various sites to decorate the space, creating themed areas and intimate spaces.
I had the roasted cauliflower which was so surprisingly good, topped with fried onions, pesto and what I believe was a peanut sauce. My friend had the beef ribs which were tender and delicious.
Can't wait to return.
S. M.
This pub is amazing! Really quirky, fun, and has delicious food. You'll need to book a table and the bar queue gets reeeeally long but it's well with a visit!
J. P. M.
Great place, but charging £5 per person to reserve a seat?!
I. O.
If you happen to be drinking in the Lower Marsh area then this deffo should be on your list. Rumours of old theatrical show props filling this pub. There's a tree house inside here which incident get to see. Decent ales too. Go here!
B. T.
An awesome venue with props from theater plays all through the venue. Really cool little hideout places in the bar. I'm loving the vibe there very much.
J. D.
Cool quirky bar decorated wildly, with very friendly staff. Cashless bar, card only! Would recommend for a casual date spot, or meeting a group of friends.
D. M.
Vaulty Towers is a brilliant pub just being its own quirky self. Great staff, good music, delicious vegan burger. And very unique decor, obviously! Love it!
A. D.
Fun place with lots of good drinks and young women. What more could you want? Also got a cool eccentric style and will please anybody you would want to take there.
On the pricy side, but that keeps the riff raff out.
G. B.
Super fun bar with really cool decor
J. J.
Fabulously unique style and hidey holes and corners to drink in. Love the wacky style and the staff are lovely. It definitely stands alone with its eccentric decor and lovely cosy welcoming atmosphere!
M.
After a terrible experience at the awful place across the road, I ventured here for a san ehaven. I was so pleasantly surprised, will come back again. lovely staff, great atmosphere, a great bar
J. C.
Completely wacky pub. So much fun and attracts a trendy crowd as well as a lot of people who have successfully finished their Hidden City treasure hunt. Great fun!
W. W.
I love this place. Quirky decor. Great drinks. Delicious food. Staff with oodles of personality. Highly recommend.
W. S.
Fantastic venue. Always busy, loads of interesting decor.
Reasonably priced drinks and the perfect place to visit before venturing down to the vaults
T. E.
Great spot, great staff, cool interior
N. G.
What an awesome little pub....So quirky, original & friendly...
M. O.
One of the favourite spots in town. I don't remember how many nights we end up at this place. Not just only the amazing staff but also the lovely crowd. Feels like night out in Londonish wonderland 🦄🎈🎉
A. B.
Very quirky setting, with a fantastic food menu and lovely staff behind the bar. Would recommend to all my friends and possibly book it soon for a private party!
R. C.
Fun pub, feels kinda hand made, and is decked out with old bits of scenery from the Vaults Theatre just around the corner. Food was really good and sensible prices. Staff really friendly. More seating downstairs.
C. C.
A very friendly atmosphere, really good ale
D. C.
Lovely little place, some of the decor is creepy but it adds to the charm! Lovely friendly staff and not too over priced
I. M.
Cool pub with an unique scenography. However, the staff is rude and you can't take your pint downstairs because it's a separated cocktail bar. Makes no sense.
c. k.
Fantastic location and place to visit. Good choices of drinks and friendly environment p. Reasonable prices. No reason why you are not visiting this fabulous pub
C. D.
A really nice, chilled atmosphere. Quirky little place. Busy, but then it *is* close to Waterloo. I'll definitely go back.
M. B.
Paid £12 for vegetarian burger with portobello mushroom and halloumi. Nice burger but very sad, stingy amount of fries and a salad garnish that fitted comfortably on one fork. Fries are so cheap to make. I'm a slight man and for the price I paid I expected to be filled up.
A. E.
Quiz Mondays is great as long as Amy is doing it. Tasty food and a decent range of drinks in probably the most eccentric pub in the Waterloo area
S. B.
Very nice pub.
B. H.
V for Vaulty towers, V for solid vibe!!! Sick spot.
F. R.
Crabby chic. Nice place mixed crowd. Fun themed gritty pub. Love the outside painting of the pub. Staff are always the best.
A. S.
Disappointing. The cokctails were horrible and premixed. We asked for the best table for a hen do and were put in the treehouse, which was all closed off so you couldn't appreciate your surroundings. We left after one drink. Probs good for a beer and a pie where expectations are lower.
L. S.
Quirky set up nice sitting areas great cocktail. First pub I've seen that have Murphy's on tap and you have to love the slushy cocktails
E. S.
Such a quirky pub. Great place for night out with friends as it the theme of the pub just makes it that bit more fun. The drink and cocktails are also delicious and reasonably priced
F. S.
Great interior- burners will feel at home. You could hang out here in a Hawaiian shirt or a top hat covered in brass clocks. Food was OK, roast cauliflower was amazing. recommended
J. R.
An amazingly hidden gem around Waterloo.
I only found out about this place a few weeks ago. Great name, great prices (for london) and great vibe!
There’s not a lot to do around Waterloo so this was a real bonus to find.
4 stars only because i’ve only been there once and haven’t spent enough time there to gain a full experience of the place.
J. M.
A quirky, fun pub and venue serving consistently good and interesting food from a revolving selection of guest chefs. Gets busy at nights even on weeknights, but very quiet at lunchtime on the weekends!
E. R.
Awesome and unusual pub!
n. n.
Just the best place close to the Old Vic, Young Vic and National Theatre.
M. C.
Amazing decor. Great fun sitting in the side street with friends at last.
T. T.
Very kwerky place, with a lively atmosphere and a tree house...
B. D.
Awesome interior, one of the most quikry and interesting looking pubs I've seen.
Staff and customers are nice and friendly, good beer selection too!
C. B.
Amazing decor upstairs and a cosy basement. It's even got a treehouse! Staff were helpful. Didn't try the food so can't stretch to 5 but would def recommend 🤩
j. p.
A nice and different looking pub, nice drinks and service
T. H.
Friendly staff, ok beer selection, not too pricey considering the location and the food was decent. Place is a rabbit's warren of weird tables and hidden drinking spots. Like getting drunk round an eccentric uncle's abandoned mansion that he'd filled with fairy lights
B. S.
Great themed bar. We have been her a few to es as one finishes work at 11pm and they are always open to serve a drink late at night
J. W.
A fun, kitschy experience. Lots of nooks and crannies to drink it. Young and fun crowd, but not rowdy. Fair pricing. Would definitely come back.
J. C.
Quirky fun decor - theatre inspired; lovely staff; good food; not too crowded at lunchtime but full in evening. Great place!
D. V.
Friendly and helpful staff, love the Rainbow cider, great food
B. W.
Brilliantly quirky location with lots of old props and costumes from Vaults shows, tons of little seating nooks and super friendly staff.
I had their aubergine tacos, which were delicious!
J.
Really nice bar with original decor. Table bookings highly recommended if you want some privacy or if you are in a big group.
C. S.
Very interestingly decoratorated pub where there are some very unique themed places to sit but limited selection of beers. Go here for the gram rather than the drinks.
L. A.
Quirky cool little bar, service was great.
But do not try the food, everything we had was sooooo salty and even the chips didn't taste nice.
C. C.
Querky, friendly, relaxed, intriguing, non commercial flashy london place to chill
I am going back. Didnt try the food but looks good. Relief to have a non chain place to go in central london
Phew
E. “. T.
The internal decor really is nice. I really liked the tacos! Maybe they could have a few more beers and it would be 5 stars.
W. D.
Cool little bar hidden in Waterloo. Great staff and wonderful atmosphere. They have an underground bar too if you want a private party.

T. K.
One of my favourite places in London.
C. P.
So much to look at in here, we was brought in from the hidden city tour, and really made the day even better!
It reminds me of the ruin bars in Budapest! Staff are friendly and helpful also!
J. C.
Good vibes, cool decoration. Seems very popular so if you want to stay for a sesh you might want to book a table ahead of time.
J. R.
Strange interior, nice atmosphere and quick bar service. Big tables for big groups and cubby holes for the couple's. I hear they have a cat during the day?
L. P.
The answer to "how to decorate a pub?"
Very friendly place and people, will definitely visit again on my next trip to London.
A. ..
Loved this eclectic style decorated place and it's different corners where you can chill with your friends or date. Not tried the food yet, but will do!

S. M.
Fun, quirky, hidden gem.
K. M.
QUIRKY COOL PLACE TO HAVE A DRINK OR SOMETHING TO EAT. NICE BEER
A. B.
Crowded, nice, good beer but slow serving. In busy hours you have to wait a lot. But otherwise a warm place to spend some quality time
o. v.
Great pub, never tried the food. Drinks were fairly priced. Loved the unique decoration
E. P.
Nice place to hang out! Love the interior and the fact that you get private space... Food portions can be bigger in my opinion.

I. D.
Quirky bar but quite expensive, no happy hour and average food. They have a new cocktail pop-up in the basement at the moment (weekends only) but I've not tried it yet
A. T.
Fair selection of beer in a quirky, kitsch setting.
Highly recommend the Monday night (slightly alternative) pub quiz.
F. H.
A quirky bar/pub with 'outrageous' decor, great atmosphere and a 'hidden' subterranean theatre space (The Secret Cellar). Good beer and good fun :)

What a place! A very jocular crowd and quite an artistic environment. Food and frivolity abounds!

Went on a Friday and was bustling, the decor is unusual and edgy but the more functional design should be better. Good, eclectic music but no dance floor yet also way too loud to talk and the seating is cramped. There's a more intimate …
f.
Quirky bar that plays some really nice collection of classic rock/disco tunes.

Really rude member of staff told my friend that they did not serve hot drinks at all with no reason given - even though there was a whole page of hot drinks on the menus.

Not bad. Gets a bit too crowded at times and the speakers in the basement can be uncomfortably loud making chatting with friends a bit challenging
