Reviews of Waxy's Little Sister
M. D.
I absolutely loved this bar. Drinks were reasonable, atmosphere was electric. The bar staff were just the loveliest blokes. Glass wear was a pleasure to drink out of and the drinks lift might have actually made my week. The only downside was the hordes of other people that also loved this bar!
T. W.
Cracking little pub...Good selection of drinks.
Drink lift is a great touch. Good local pub feel I the heart of London.
I. S.
Lovely pub with excellent selection of drinks and welcoming and helpful staff. Great place for a catch up with a friend over a drink. Cosy with a fireplace on each floor.
R. R.
PIckled by our experiences in Soho, this lively number was a welcome retreat in the area! It has all sorts of drinks, was very welcoming indeed, and the EXchanges we had with the bar staff were warm and entertaining.
M. S.
Very popular place when I got there they had ran out of Guinness! But there was plenty of other beers to choose from . Very pleasant place to sit and enjoy.
J. K.
Nice pub. Reasonably clean and regularly cleaned up. Prices are as expected of a city pub. Got to sit and catch up with my best friend, whom I hadn't seen in quite a long time, over a pint.
A. E.
Stopped only for one drink on a Thursday night. It has 2 floors, very busy. It's nicely decorated giving it a warm feeling.
M.
Very particular pub, completely in wood, absolutely fantastic atmosphere and staff kind and friendly, in the heart of Chinatown, Soho. Recommended at all
R. C.
Little pricey but acceptable for central London. Inside isnt much to talk about. Deceptively spacious. Nice atmosphere and seemingly a hidden gem as there was no queue to get in
D. D.
Small pub, cosy, has plenty of drinks available. Seats are available on first floor as well.
k. d.
Nice place, v convenient for China town where we had dinner. Drinks reasonably priced.
B. G.
Not as good as it used to be. But I can remember when they had more than 1 person behind the bar.
I went upstairs and when I got to the top of the stairs I saw the sign saying the area was reserved from 1.45pm. I was there at 3.10pm and upstairs was empty.
Firstly try putting the sign at the bottom of the stairs and secondly the group were a no show so this part of the bar was empty as you can see from my pics.
On the upside I had this to myself for a quiet pint. Thanks Shani Corder.
D. D. R.
Nice cozy pub, can get a bit cramped due to very central location but prices are ok and staff is friendly. There is a nice upstairs area with comfy couch seating.
M.
Nice little pub just outside of the Leicester Square. Reasonable prices for beers and spirits.
K. H.
Rolling back the years with a great friend in London.. magic Guinness. Love it.
T. M.
Lovely little pub with a cosy seating area upstairs overlooking the entrance to Chinatown.
S.
Great little pub with friendly service and a very good pint of Guinness. Nice location for a few pints before hitting the theaters.
M. B.
Lovely pub, great atmosphere, friendly bouncer!
R. A.
Cozy little place on a busy street. Drinks were nice and the place was perfect for a cold November evening. There are some seats up stairs. Good for small groups.
C. W.
Great night out, very memorable birthday 😊 we popped in here good atmosphere.
B. P.
Nice bar but barman had no personality
P. T.
My favorite spot in central London. For some reason very few people realize there is another floor upstairs.
R. F.
Loved this place pre-covid. Only issue now is no sofas upstairs but still a great place.
A. T.
Great pub. Not to busy and good selection of beer.
Love the dumb waiter for getting drinks upstairs.
N. G.
Nice relaxed atmosphere good choice of alcoholic drinks. Would recommend
M. M.
Situated across the street from Waxy O'Conner's is an off shoot of this cavernous underground watering hole.
It's fine if you want to drop in and have a couple of pints but is most likely to be rammed with loud party goers carving their way through Soho on an alcohol fueled night out.
If you get a seat near a window the people watching is epic but I'd plan on moving on after an hour or so to someplace with a bit more soul.
j. p.
Great service and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go back again.
N. T.
Worth a visit for a go on the dumb waiter! Write your order on the pad and put some cash in, send it down to the bar and wait for your drinks and money to be sent back up - very fun.
C. M.
Oh WHAT A FINDING. Waxy O'connors is probably my favourite pub in London and when I saw his little sister I was wandering for almost an hour looking for a decent pub. Made my night. Great beer, great atmosphere, great people.
(And if you were there someday in March by the time they played Bon Jovi, I apologise for singing it extremely loud with my friend.
I mean, I don't.).
G. B.
Best Pup inTown!!
K. P.
Friendly staff and good atmosphere sitting outside in the middle of Chinatown
M. M.
Great spot, great service. Good chouce of drinks and fair prices.
P. S.
Good service but the concept is very dated now. The place just looks weird.
M. W.
This is a pleasant boozer in Chinatown. The mutton pot is a must order.
J. P.
Brilliant beer,atmosphere and staff
C. F.
Great bar staff, novel way of delivering drinks upstairs with the little cabinet with the ropes! Great night in the centre of London! Thanks again guys
L. g.
Brilliant place, right in the center of the theatre district, staff were friendly highly recommend
R. A.
Nice little pub if you can't get into the bigger version
A. E.
A good central place for a single female to have a drink & watch the world go by
A. L.
It's a reasonable pub in Central London. Good place to meet people.
M. S.
Really cool pub, nice and cozy. The upper floor is the gem, with the pulley system to order drinks a must try. The are a few tables with comfortable sofas and chairs to seat, and a fireplace that keeps you warm in the cold times. The upper floor has also a good view over the ground floor and the counter. Absolutely recommended, especially on a date. Bear in mind that the place is small, so at peak times it can be really difficult to find a place.
G. M.
Cool pub! Staff is nice, sits available outside prices okay, only issue is that bloody hobo playing a road cone in front of it, I would have give him change if he would have left.
One day there was even a young magician going around the tables, definitely entertaining.
Love the place
l.
Great little pub but can get very busy on weekends
E. C.
This is a great Irish pub in the centre of London. Always a pleasure to visit and the staff and beers are great. Highly recommended place to visit and a pub I enjoy going back to when I'm around Chinatown.
B. H.
The pubs in a good spot but when we visited that was about the best bit of it! They played none stop very loud irish music that's ok if you love that fine but we don't mind a few tracks but it was to loud and to much!
C. W.
Great drinks, friendly staff and good music. Had a great time!
M. M.
I loved this pub. The manager Gigi was so friendly and accommodating. I'll defo return
A. M.
Great pub, great staff
D. K.
I very much love this pub. There are a few bars inside a maze like warren of stairs and hallways and it's got a fantastic atmosphere. Great staff, great beers and great whiskeys.
D. K.
Nice little pub on the edge of China town. The is about a block east of Leicester Square. Like must pubs in the area this place gets really busy between 5 and 8 PM. You need to order your food and drinks at the bar but they will bring your food to you when it is ready. I had the area that was delicious and authentic.
H. K.
Comfy sofas and a bit quieter upstairs. There's also a dumb waiter to order and pay for drinks upstairs. Music is a bit too loud for a Wednesday afternoon but manageable and mostly Irish rock music from the 80s and 90s. Downstairs is more touristy and transient due to the location. You're at the start of Chinatown so it's a fantastic central location on the edge of Soho and Leicester Square. Go for early and grab a sofa upstairs!
J. R.
I come here fairly often, pretty standard pub with a lovely interior. Staff have always been friendly towards me and my friends. It can get busy and the upstairs hot in the summer, but overall a nice place to visit when out with friends.
L. W.
Good beer. Shame about the plastic cups at the moment. Other pubs in the area serving in proper pint glasses
a. s.
Decent prices for London, superb for people watching
R. J.
A great little Irish pub serving nice beers. Staff are warm and friendly. Attracts a good crowd. Worth a visit or two. Prices are reasonable.
I. B.
The infrastructure of the place is amazing, very charming place and good spot to chill n drink upstairs. The bartenders are great and super cool. I havent seen many places with the glasses elevator in the middle, pretty unique.
E. G.
There are 4 diverse levels off set from each other, each with its own bar and space for a healthy multitude. There's plenty of stout to go 'round, too. There are also great decorating the interior, making an almost nice mood that caught me off guard. The friendliness of the place is fashioned by small rooms and different levels, so it is possible to enjoy a quieter drink away from the main bar zones.
D. C.
Good selection of drinks. Open late at weekends.
K. N.
Beautiful little Irish pub right around the corner from Chinatown. Furnishing is traditional with wood featuring prominently across the bar, the walls and the stairs. As the name suggests, it is a small pub so don't be surprised if you find yourself sipping your pint in the outside area. Fortunately, Little Waxy's older brother is literally 5 seconds walk away. Brilliant for summer, I highly recommend Waxy Little Sister.
W. B.
One of the best places to go for a drink
G. L.
Great little pub in Chinatown, when it isn't packed it is much better!
The dumb waiter is a great novelty.
J. A.
I visit this bar purely because they serve Caffreys however it's really hit or miss whether you will get a good pint of it or not which is why I haven't given 4 stars. If you are after a quick drink or two before a show then I recommend this as a venue.
r. b.
We just popped in for a G&T and a wine before our evening dinner- lovely friendly staff although my 25 year old son was not happy he was asked for ID when he was drinking a pint of water - I suppose rules are rules- very friendly staff and most accommodating- we sat upstairs in the sofa lounge
L. D.
Simply put, it's one of my favorite pubs in central London. It's a hidden little gem, mirroring the style of it's "big sister" Waxy O'Connor. The woodwork and mood of the upper floor is just stunning. Took my breath away when I discovered it for the first time. The candle light is a nice tough and having your drinks delivered by a service elevator directly from the bar is in my books the best way to have them!
R. G.
First time at this cosy little pub as Waxy's was very loud while showing rugby. Quirky layout, great ambiance and good selection of drinks for everyone. Staff could have been a bit friendlier, hence the four stars.
N. R.
One of the few London pubs I return to.
There's a beer lift upstairs - a dumb waiter to the bar below where you send your order down with cash and receive beers back. Brilliant!
Nice cosy sofas upstairs by the fire. Perfect in winter,
D. K.
One of my favourite central London pubs. I generally avoid drinking in the area, but if have to then can recommend this place. Get yourself upstairs and you may even be able to get that rarest of things .. A seat in a good central London pub!
R. P.
My favourite pub in China town. Very unique ambience. Very lovely interior. The first floor is great to chill out and the lazy waiter will make your beer taste even better.
G. S.
Nice cosy pub just off leicester square. Prices for drinks very reasonable for london and its location in the heart of tourist land, close to China town, cinemas, theatres and public transport.
M. N.
We wondered, what is meant by “little”? Rustic, quirky decor, good location and cosy atmosphere. The drinks lift is an awesome idea, something what differentiates this lovely place from other pubs... If “little” means “normal” in size... we wondered what Waxy is like then... This place really is Waxy’s “little” sister. Brilliant.
K. C.
Nice little pub on the corner in China Town, just up the road from Leicester Sq. The bartender was very friendly and gave us plastic cups for our ciders so that we could sit outside and people watch
M. L.
Very crowded but nice pub. Great views on Chinatown from upstairs as well as nice decor. Good selection of beverages. You can order something on the ground floor and ask to be sent up via special lift!
D. C.
Cute pub with really nice staff!!
S. C.
Great time at waxys little sister. Very friendly staff -Nico and Luigi made the night, thank you guys. Nice wooden theme. Definitely recommend. Arivederci alla prossima. Grazie!!!
f. g.
I love the place. Great ambiance. Great music. The prices like anywhere else in the area. Net and clean. Two floors to enjoy. Tje staff is friendly and not friendly, depends on the day. Over all it is worth a visit.
m. h.
I became disabled with MS about 15 years ago and really miss my trips to London. I went on my scooter on 13th August and was blown away to see a bell on the door to ring for assistance. The staff were fantastic and I went away wondering why I'd been so worried about travelling to London as a disabled person. Thank you for not making me feel different.
K. B.
Good and cozy place with a lovely fireplace upstairs. You can seat in a comfortable sofa to drink your pint.
F. N.
Great service from the staff and mainly Gigi. Thank you for the good atmosphere
J. B.
Really nice traditional feel pub. Good selection of drinks in my opinion. Nice open fire in a cosy space upstairs. Drinks a little bit expensive. But a really nice place!
P. A. T.
Beautiful pub, brilliant staff. But please let us bring in grub if you don’t serve it...
H. F.
I always choose this pub for a pre-theatre or pre-dinner drink. Central location but never overly busy and have always managed to get a seat. Good selection of gins and serve cucumber with the hendrix which is always a bonus. Friendly staff who are happy to chat if they have the time.
S. S.
A very nice quiet bar in a busy street with a friendly bartender. They had a lift system for the drinks so people can order from upstairs, which was pretty quirky and interesting to use.
E. C.
Great beer, great staff, great music, great for to warm up on a cold day and an absolutely amazing place to watch the crazy world go by outside! I love it here
B.
My wife and I love being here, great guiness, lovely friendly atmosphere, pop in when we can ,not often enough
P. M.
Wonderful lively pub! Amazing building with charming ambience. Slightly expensive but I guess that’s London for you .....bruv!!!!
The bar staff are amazing tho
M. S.
Decent Irish pub in the heart of Chinatown. Reasonable prices, nice atmosphere. Worth popping in for a drink.
n. w.
Good vibe
D. T.
Well-thought decor is what strikes the most. Choice of beer is simple and mainstream like All Bar One with a few exceptions worth of Porter House. Perfect for a quick drink.
m.
Arranged to meet up with friends after attending the cenataph last weekend. Really friendly pub, they laid on a private room for our gathering which was fantastic. Thanks to Ginge for organising Bz
D. G.
Love this place on a Saturday afternoon. Right in Chinatown with a nice view our the upper floor window, and a lift for sending up/ordering drinks. Comfy sofas too!
k. j.
Plain pub, beer pretty good.
L. D.
Atmosphere in here is brill, bar staff fantastic. Best Irish coffee made by Nico.... Will definitely be back on our next visit to London
R. Z. R.
The sofa gallery upstairs is great. Many comfy places to sit and coffee tables for your drinks. With a good view of one of Chinatown's gate.
P. I.
Great place to have a beer and watch the world go by
S. O.
Great music. Ok beers. I get it's busy but bartender didn't seem helpful when I asked him about drinks selection. I wasn't being picky, just curious
A. T.
What a gem in the middle of central London! Reasonably priced, nice rock playlist in the background and if you're lucky you get a good view of amusing street performers just outside the bar.
M. J.
Lovely little friendly pub in the heart of China Town
R. M.
Great place to sit and watch the world go buy....
M. T.
A well-stocked, friendly pub, with a lovely outside area overlooking Chinatown Gate, making it all very atmospheric.
T. L.
Good beer great atmosphere
R. V.
Cool spot that goes deep in the basement with large capacity. It is in a tourist area and can get very busy on weekend nights. Good music though.
C. G. D. S.
Nice Irish bar in Chinatown, seating by the windows have some drinks and watch the world go by. Good selection of beers and even has the classic Tayto crisps.
P. U.
Really cool barmans and uncommon variety of IPAs. Traditional environment in spite of its central location and prices between Londonian and Brumies...
I. H.
Handy little Irish pub downstairs. Quite authentic, in as much as you stand or sit at a stool at the bar, not always the case in English pubs such as Wetherspoons. More room upstairs.
D. M.
Lively downstairs, but cozy upstairs. Decent food and far more chilled out in general then it's bigger sibling (you can actually hear the person you are talking to in here).
R. B.
Awesome place with a dumbwaiter in the middle. No need to walk up and down stairs for drinks... place your order and cash in the dumb waiter... pull the ropes... then wait for your drinks to arrive!
R. P.
Good value drinks and friendly staff!
G. N.
Lovely pub with great decor and ambience!
Gin options were great and the fire place is nice and cosy for winter nights...
T. A.
Always stop in here for a drink good location if your going for a Chinese before or after plays some cracking tunes.
D. N.
Quirky little Irish pub, so named as it's the little sister of near-by Waxy O'Connor's. If you are in the small gallery upstairs, you can write your order on a bit of paper and send it down with payment in the manual dumbwaiter then have your drinks put on the dumb waiter for you to pull back up!
P. C.
Good rock music in the background. Very hot in their and no air con. Also only magners cider on draft so had to go with lager instead.
A. W.
Great bar, the upstairs sofa area is fab. Reasonable prices for the West End. Will definitely visit again
u. w.
Nice warm fireplace, cute ancient little lift will take your beers upstairs so u don't need to worry about carrying your beer to the fireplace upstairs woo
M. B.
Cozy little pub in China town. Currently the anime meetup bimonthly meeting ground. Anyone into anime feel free to come on Thursday evenings.
P. E.
Perfect dynamic of niche and commercial music (find somewhere else in this area that plays nirvana) friendly staff, good mixup of beer that changes more or less weekly. My kinda place
D. T.
Comfy little bar smacked right in the middle of Chinatown.
J. C.
Good system in place for Covid so felt confident visiting. Lovely to be back in a pub again!
J. B.
Nice pub not dominated by location. Good beer and a barman who is professional doing a great job while seeming to do the work of three baristas.
N. B.
Super bar and atmosphere

Nice bar, food comes over from Waxy O'Connors. Burger was dry but the fish and chips was decent, and drinks are fairly priced.
A. S.
Great central location, and most tourists dont know about the hidden upstairs bar so you can usually get a seat, plus they have a dumb waiter for beverage transport up there, just across the road is the big brother waxy o'connors which is brilliant
R. P.
Cool pub that was playing solid tunes. Has more seating upstairs and a fire place. It was dead when I went. Which wasn't a bad thing.
G. S.
Lovely place to have a drink or two. The staff is friendly and covers all of your needs.
S. L.
Cool place to get a pint in the centre. Can get busy though. Great staff, fast service.
B. M.
Great atmosphere, great ale!
H. C.
Cosy pub. Great spot in central London. Write your order down, the barman sends it up via the pulley system!

Nice little pub. The pulley system for getting drinks upstairs is fun!
J. b.
In the heart of soho/Chinatown it's a nice place to have a good pint of beer.
Staff friendly.
A. A.
It is the best place ❤️❤️❤️ I like to spend time on the sofa next to the fireplace. Wine ✔️ Guinness ✔️ Kopparberg ✔️
F. T.

Very warm pint of Heineken... Good location. Will try again to see if the next pint is a decent temperature.
J. P.
Great location for drinks in London, shows the six nations and had a great dumb waiter upstairs which you can use to order.
H.
Friendly but generally busy Irish pub on a very central location. Good for a pint before or after the cinema.
T. M.
Fantastic warm and friendly place.
Staff were lovely
T. W.
Not the best pub in this area but it's okay if you like a quiet drink
J. M.
Apart from a strange name, it pretty much does what every other pub in the area does: fuel the frantic paced boozing of tourists and out of towners in for a Big night on the town.
G. B.
Great atmosphere, very lively. Had a really good time in there
J. N.
Great place to watch street performers / buskers outside with a pint.
Their Absinth is a bit 'shoddy' but otherwise all other drinks are great.
R. H.
Sat in the window seat watching the world go by. The outside came in ad well. Friendly place. Good choice of ales.
C. M.
Good beer. Nice vibe. Right in town. Excellent pub
J. H.
