My partner and I held our engagement party at The Market House in the rentable upstairs room last night. The staff were so, so accommodating and created such an amazing space for the party. Hayley worked on the bar for our families for the whole night; she was so patient, professional and kind. The set up was exactly what I wanted and was so beautiful. Thank you so much for everything! I’d 100% recommend holding an intimate event here.

Had the most amazing food here pre England match. Was passing through after touring holiday around Kent. Made to feel so welcome by Claire. She chatted to us and went out her way to ensure we were happy with our food and that the chef made allowances for food allergy. The food was superb. The service was worthy of the highest award! The staff were all so happy to be there, they were jolly, friendly and came across like a big happy family. Just loved it. Recommend to the highest possible degree! Go!

Greeted outside by friendly owner/manager and security staff. Live music was great and despite being busy we were served quickly. All staff were friendly and helpful. Pleasantly surprised at the range of ages with a real mix of young and old all having a good time. Would definitely go back.

Pulled pork is amazing. Would recommend the loaded chorizo fries. Went back Friday night, great atmosphere with a local band playin. Cod and chips were perfect.

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy, groups of friends, groups of families. Good service, a couple of beers I didn't know, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Wasn't so keen on the bench tables by the main door that were a little wobbly. The maps on the floors of the toilets were fantastic, though.

Refreshing pub food; what Market House does is take the concept of eating in at a pub in a different direction and I like it. It feels new, it’s only been a year since it was last refurbed. The restaurant section is humble, comfy, with loads of scatter cushions adorning the seating. The kitchen is visible too, which is cool and uncommon in a pub setting. Service is split between the pub and restaurant, it’s humble and caring. Food was delivered quickly. The food, I thought was bloody brilliant. What a great selection of dishes. Me, being fussy when it comes to choice had lots to tickle the taste buds. Their 5 starters for £22 is a winner and something that more pubs should have. It’s the pub’s equivalent of tapas. All food looked beautiful, well done Shepherd Neame chef. My pick of the dishes was the duck and sweet potato croquet. Refreshing, quality food, excellent value for money. The best pub food in Maidstone town centre.

Great service, delicious food and reasonably priced. All in all a fantastic experience. We went with a toddler and it was a grat experience. The staff were extremely friendly and approachable. The kids meal came at the right temperature, I've noticed in other places the food for kids can be too hot but here at market house it was perfect for my little one to get started as soon as she had her food in front of her. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family to go.

Came here most recently on a Sunday and had the 5 meze sharing plates for £22. All the food tasted fresh, had good flavours and I was suitably satisfied at the end. The open kitchen which whilst popular in modern places can be a little noisy when the chefs are 'enjoying' themselves. I also came here once before for breakfast and whilst the full English was good, on both my visits I have not enjoyed the coffee. For what is effectively a pub (so you may not have a dedicated waitress) the restaurant at the back is worth a visit, the menu is simple and whilst the food is not going to blow your mind it is as good as any of the better highstreet chain restaurants.

Came midweek for lunch. Very good service and nice atmosphere. Very minor issue with one of the meals which was rectified immediately and politely. In fairness it was more one of our party being a bit of a fussy eater so could not have asked for more really. Good value and a nice range of beers and wines. Would not hesitate to recommend and revisit!

Visited for lunch on Tuesday 25th August with my mum, daughter and sister in law. One of the first through the door and only because the queue for wagamama was to the top of road. However this was to be to our benefit. Had a very warm welcome from the young girl on the door who took our details for track and trace and explained the table service to us. We were promptly served our drinks and had our food order taken. Manager checked on us throughout and was really happy, friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly and well presented and tasted delicious. All in all a fantastic visit where we were made to feel welcome, safe and well looked after. All the team working very hard during the exceptionally busy eat out to help out offer and are a credit to your business 👍 Highly recommended x

Lovely refurbishment on what used to be Earls. So much more light and airy. Great outside deck will be fab in the sunshine. Interesting menu, tapas style nibbles, tortilla wraps perfect for lunch and proper steak and chips. Great drinks menu and the live music continues. Definitely worth a visit!

Visited last night for a friend's birthday. Food was great : menu is mainly small sharing plates but 5 for £20 provided more than enough for two. Pub is really nicely decorated and comfortable. The band last night were great too. My only issue was the range of ales wasn't particularly to my taste. But some say I'm fussy....

A great example of a pub that has evolved to keep a crowd and stay relevant with the times, fast service usually even in busy times which is refreshing and welcoming bar staff and superb offering of original music and generic but high quality cover banda that being a big crowd on big nights. My only criticism would be that the nice warm smoking area is often closed for private use at weekends which is a little bit of a shame x

This was the first time we had been to the Market House. We were surprised that the dining area is quite small but it's really nice and cosy. The choices on the menu are also not that large ( other than a large selection of starters ) but having said that, it's probably a good thing for a small restaurant. To the food, I had the paprika pork medallions and my wife a chicken burger, the food was super delicious. The deserts we had were also great. Service was very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. A great, good value place to eat, will definitely return.

The Market House has risen from the ashes of Earls and has brought the boozer into the 21st Century, think pale paint colours and American Pale Ales. It’s handsome throughout and the outside space upstairs is welcome. Decent crowd but being Maidstone you still get the ‘characters’ - last time I was here I saw a young lady trying (and failing) to dance on the tables, completely blotto of course.

A staple of Maidstone town, this pub is well established as a great live music venue, there's a decent selection of standard lagers and wines but nothing especially indie or different from the usual choices. The prices are steep but the music is free, its a payoff for the atmosphere but worth it on a Friday night if you fancy seeing a band. I haven't eaten here but the food looks good, served until early evening but definitely check first if you're coming for dinner.

My adult daughter, wife and i dropped in for lunch around 16:00 on Sunday. I ordered the spicy pork and beans, my daughter the salmon wraps and my wife, couldn't decide, but opted for the salad with felafel. But she didn't want the falafel as it was made with herbs which she won't eat, but noticed a spicy falafel as a starter, so we asked to swap and was told ok. Then I was told they'd run out of the spanish beans and was asked if i wanted potatoe instead. Nope, I changed my order to a burger..disappointed but no big deal. We waited for dinner, when it came, all was good, my wife tried a falafel it was not spicey but herby! As we were discussing the potential mistake, the manageress (Lou, I believe) noticed and asked what was wrong, we explained and was told, that they only made one type of falafel. Naturaly Lou was apologetic but what really stood out was that she was actually interested to find out the cause and to resolve the problem. Lou sat with my wife, explained the kitchen, looked at the menu saw the difference in the wording on the menu between the starter and the main; and asked about our server, who should have known better. Lou offered a discount and also a choice of another starter to go with the salad free of charge, even though we were not that bothered and even offered her favourites to ensure we were happy with our food. Lou was freindly, attentive and was joking with us making us feel that we belonged in the pub. She ensured we were looked after from start to finish. All in all. this is a pub you need to go visit, its clean, roomy and the service is great.

So far only pub I found in Maidstone with beermats, therefore you will not experience wet, sticky and smelly tables. Very friendly staff.
