Reviews of The Windmill

Came here as part of a group of eight. Had a very pleasant and relaxing lunch. This pub is a lot larger than it first appears with a great variety of seating areas both inside and outside. Food was tasty and very well presented although certain dishes could have been cooked a little better. "Jake's IPA" did not taste of the right beer style - maybe the beers had got muddled up. Great wine selection with the pub being part of Balfour Winery. Plenty of parking. Overall would thoroughly recommend.

Excelent breakfast!
I recommend steak with eggs for breakfast, even for me as Romanian it was a bit unusual 👍. Also you must try the pancake too - they are delicious.
And about the atmosphere, it's a truly old British, an old house, with huge fireplace. We really enjoyed.

Amazing food, along with friendly staff members. Plenty car parking in the back and lovely indoor and outdoor area to sit. Definitely worth the visit, will be back again soon.

The food was excellent, the staff were polite and lovely and the ambience was good, only spoilt by a rather loud and raucous table next to us, who got progressively louder as the evening went on, resulting in us going home to enjoy coffee! I think we were just unlucky with our table position on this occasion.

Tasty Sunday Roast Lamb with local Kentish cider. Really enjoyed the food and drink! The espresso was muddy and thick too - just how I like it! Staff were friendly and helpful. Certainly not a cheap place but well worth the pennies. They've started serving breakfast on the weekend too so I'll have to check this out.

Wild mushroom gnocchi, watermelon salad and the sweet potato side dish were fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed how fresh the food was.
The pistachio sponge and coffee creme brulee were to die for ♥. Great vibes!!!

Came here for the 'Wellington Wednesday' special for my 11 year old daughters Birthday meal. She is quite a foodie so we thought this would be a lovely treat. Indeed it was! From the moment we arrived the service was brilliant. Attentive ,but relaxed and fun which is how we like it. The starters were lovely ; I had Salmon and my daughter the Scallops. We also had the bread and olives and both were divine. Well, The Beef Wellington was superb ! Such a generous portion, plus the vegetable sides were also both generous and delicious. Being greedy and being that it was a special occasion we both had desserts which were to die for. All this and in a lovely ambiance in a pretty Kentish village pub. Great value for money in my opinion at this standard. Well done. We shall return !!!! :)

More than a pub - good surroundings but we didn't find the food was as good as it should have been. Lovely presentation but cost a lot for what it was. When going to pay bill there was a 10% service charge - another thing we don't agree with but being typical British we paid it. We performed the relaxed atmosphere of the Sugar Loaves and our meal there was amazing.

First time to visit for over 10 years. Friendly greeting from the staff. Lots of areas to sit both inside and outside. Menu was varied and food overall was very good. My partner had a cappuccino and a nice touch was the mini homemade hot cross bun that came with it. Great pub to visit as a family. Beer garden was spacious and there is a modern kids play area. We will be back!
