Reviews of Lamb Hotel
N. L.
This is a classic pub, and now a very rare building. Without support it would be a travesty to loose this original style public house. All credit to the Holts Brewery currently! At the Eccles tram stop just visit! Cask beer superb ( full bar range)
Photos attached
Cheers & support!

Great Victorian style pub with very good cask ale at incredibly low prices. £3.15 for a great conditioned cask bitter 4° proof.
T. G.
Welcoming traditional local pub. Great staff and landlady. Really friendly customers who make you feel eelcome. Well kept ales.
M. E.
What a tremendous building no wonder its listed, lovely original features and not a bad pint
P. G.
If you like Karaoke, then you'll like it here. Once a traditional Holt's house, now somewhat rowdier. Not really to my taste, I prefer talking to folk. Large open rooms, it's a few years since I've been, and was disappointed that the full size snooker has gone, in favour of Karaoke.
C. S.
Grade II listed Edwardian building and recognised by CAMRA as having a nationally important historic interior. The inner walls feature traditional woodwork, half tiled walls and etched glass features, including curved glass bar windows which are typical of Holt's pubs of this era. A constant entry in the GBG and received a certificate to celebrate 25 years in the Good Beer Guide in November 2016.
In our visit to the North, we stopped and had a drink here, specifically because it was in the GBG. We found the staff amiable and forthcoming, even though it was early in the day.
The Lamb recently won the prestigious Neil Richardson Award for Best Traditional Pub of the Year 2015

A proper pub, clean, no trouble, good drinks, great people

Superb grade 2 listed old school pub in Eccles Manchester not many great locals like it left great selection of beer's and lagers and friendly locals.
C. J.
A delightful old pub with all its original etched glass. Landlady Andrea is so passionate about what she does. Great pub.
j.
Loved Friday krappyoke. Landlady is a diamond.
M. C.
Great old Holts pub with original fittings and good choice of beers.
G. D.
Very nice Traditional pub across from the Metro. It seems to be frequented by older people but deserves to be packed.
T. H.
Traditional Holts pub great for a pint & a game of snooker one of the best tables in the area.
T. L.
Great original old English pub. Everyone on kareoke can actually sing and has nice voices. Has a big billiards room and I think a lot of the furnishings are original. Service is friendly and quick and drinks are cheap ☺
I feel like this is one of the great local pubs where everyone knows each other and are mates from way back.
B. D.
An absolutely fantastic pub,
Step back in time when you enter, a warm greeting awaits from friendly staff and customers, "this is how pubs used to be" said one customer. "it's so friendly in here we love it" said another couple
Come play a game of snooker or get involved on the Karaoke, every Friday Night and Sunday afternoon 2pm-6pm
M. H.
I have been drinking at the Lamb for many years with my friends and colleagues. Great traditional pub with delicious Holts Ales. It is unique as it is the only pub in Manchester with a full size snooker table in its very own snooker room. We try and play every Friday night!
C. Y.
Beautiful building
M. R.
If you've never visited, it's a classy old antequated pub with loads of the original features, not least a billiard room boasting a full size snooker table. It's a gem of a place, all told, with a great bar that does flavoured gins as well as the full range of Holts' bottled ales.
S. M.
Great pub not been in it for ages... Will be going more often for a pint of Trail blazer
s. t.
First visit at 3pm. First impessions count, stunning timber and glass work, I dread to think how much it would cost to replace, if we even had the craftsmen to do it! Seen much quieter pubs on a Saturday afternoon. Busy but not too busy. First pint of mild was the last in the barrel, wasn't impressed but wasn't terrible either. Thought I had better try another, much better and would try again. Good an excuse as any.
A. G.
This pub is still original with all wooden paneling and curved glass bar even still has service bells in the lounge. It's a really nice pub with friendly staff and customers ans even has a snooker table.
M. H.
A great local pub that not too many use so a peaceful place sad they took away the snooker table some time ago. Friendly staff. Quality Holts pub
J. R.
It's still a pretty good pub but there are now televisions in every room including the former billiards room.
S. L.
Fantastic day as always , brilliant landlady bar staff and dj
M. M.
Classic house owned by Manchester brewer Joseph Holt. This one dates from the Edwardian times so look out for the ornate mahogany woodwork, etched glass, and the full size snooker table in its own room. That room is joined by three others: snug, vault, and lounge. Good range of Holt's cask ales. Recommended
S.
Great pub, grade II listed building, has been known for Sherlock holmes and other dramas filmed there. The Sunday afternoons are Great, karaoke and a good old sing song, staff are great and friendly, real people with real pints, not many "proper" pubs about these days, normally cocktail bars and restaurants.
S. M.
After my first visit in 2013 I wrote this paragraph (for my eBook Manchester X):
"The Lamb Hotel in Eccles is a fossil. Scores of smokers outside, boozed up, inside it looks like the Titanic. Edwardian architecture. Dark wood panelling, comfortably warm and quiet as a tomb. A very old haggard woman is getting half a mild every twenty minutes, sipping at her glass with relish, alone on an upholstered corner bench. God bless her little heart! What strikes me as odd is that there are six men in the lounge, each to himself by a separate table, no one’s talking [...] The ghosts of the Titanic writhing in the early evening twilight."
Was back in Feb & March 2015. What a fantastic place! Excellent service, friendly as ever, no complaints at all. A peaceful haven, a place to read or write or simply take your mind off things ...
J. G.
