We were lucky enough to win a main meal at the Bluebell in a raffle. The manager kindly agreed we could use the voucher on the busy Saturday evening over the bank holiday. Luke served us and was excellent through out. He checked with the manager we could have the fillet steak. Luke ensured the whole experience was a great one. Checking when we were ready for drinks. He worked really hard the whole time we were there. We will def return.

Reasonably priced good quality pub food. The usual favourites of, steak, burgers, fish and chips, with some more adventurous dishes like whitebait or mussels in white wine sauce. There's a useful kids menu and attentive service.

I want to start by saying that the food is decent, always well cooked and reasonably priced! The real reason for the good review is that we go weekly for the quiz on a Tuesday and the staff are so nice! Within a couple of times attending we felt like regulars and they really look after us! I recommend this place to friends for the pub even though it reduces our chance of winning the quiz drastically! All around great pub! 🍻

Amazing service, Luke in particular was so positive and happy he deserves recognition. I went to go and order at the bar and he insisted I stay at my seat and he will come over to me. He has such positive, happy energy and said how much he loves his job which was so refreshing. The food it's amazing there! I love the tower burger and the messy chips, those are my favourite options. Just delicious! Besides the food, it's a great place for some drinks and on Thursdays there are fun quizzes. One of the nicest places in Monton!

Oh my god. I tried the a burger here and was really good. Asked the server to not serve it with the pulled pork as it would have been very slippy and it was no problem. Nice pint to go with it too. Everyone compliments the chef here for his food quality and quantity. I'll be back.

We are a couple and decided that due to lack of parking in Monton centre to take a punt in the bluebell this afternoon. Arriving at mid day we was the first to enter for service but you wouldn’t know it. The staff followed the covid guidelines without and were very attentive. However, was a bit scary and intimidating as I left as 2 cars full of young lads in dark car park next to me...I was parked in back corner.. .....they were definitely smoking pot....stunk to high heaven. Was a bit scary getting in my car and knowing they were all watching me. Landlord needs to get rid of them.

The Bluebell has brilliant staff and fantastic COVID measures in place which are enforced by the staff. We had an outside table and nothing was too much for the staff. We felt really safe and enjoyed our afternoon drinks. We also ate earlier on in the day and enjoyed our food. Thank you!

This pub has been redecorated and has a new menu. Prices seem a tad high to me but I suppose on par with other local pubs. My sister was hungry but didn't want a large meal so asked the waitress if she could have something from the lunch menu. As they don't normally do this we were delighted that they agreed. It came poking hot and served with a smile. I would recommend this pub for an evening of friendly chat and a drink.

Always find JW Lees pubs to be at the better end of the scale as far as chains go. Prompt, friendly service and good value for money. Tonight I had the bacon chop which was good and tasty and would definitely have it again. A nice selection of local brews are on offer alongside the mainstream offering. Really good pub food at reasonable prices.

Really nice spot to be fare, but it has to be said, there were a lot of overly intoxicated people here at an hour of the day I wouldn't have really expected. I know it's a pub, and they can't be held accountable for the habits of their customers but I'd have been really annoyed if I'd have had our little one with us for dinner, before 5pm there were full grown men falling over inside and unable to take themselves to the toilet. Surely staff can refuse service on such occasions? Otherwise the food was okay, but a bit of a let down. We had a rare weekend without the little one so we thought we'd try out some of the spots we haven't managed to yet, this was one of them. My other half is, granted, a fussy eater, but there was only one dish on the menu he felt happy ordering and was still annoyed there was so little choice for him. It felt a little like this place wanted to do 'posh pub grub' which is all well and good, but it felt more brand standard than anything. We moved outside after for a drink in the sunshine and the tables are so huge we had to shout to be heard by one another. A beautiful building and okay food, but probably more a spot for large groups. Definitely not date-night material. There's no way to get cosy with your other half over a huge table and with men peeing themselves in the doorway. I doubt I'll be back.

The Blue Bell was a very good pub before cashing in on the 'Monton-Carlo' hype. Their food is not bad but its price certainly leaves a lot be desired in quality and dish size. Drinking in the Blue Bell on a night out can soon become a £40 venture and that's on lager alone. You'd be much better going to a Wetherspoons where it's the exact same environment but much, much cheaper.

The Blue Bell has been a local landmark for many years. It's a good place for a pint and a nice meal. The menu is functional with a range of traditional offerings like fish and chips, gammon, egg and chips which are very tasty and reasonably priced - it is more pub grub than restaurant fare but guess what? It is a pub after all! All staff, front of house and behind the bar, are friendly and courteous. There's a good range of beers too. I will certainly be visiting again soon.

Food here has reliably good. The messy chips, hand made nachos, BBQ ribs, cheese and onion pie have been consistent winners. Thursday night is quiz night, so avoid after 7pm on Thursday if you want to catch up with friends. The quiz is very loud. But, if you want to do the quiz, it's good fun.

Booked a table with a 50% offer vouchers expecting a nice chilled meal, however not the case, we was not told that it was a music festival, I have no problem with music of different styles but tonight was the most uncomfortable evening , the artist could sIng but I could not hold a conversation with my husband, on making our booking it may have been best to inform us of the nights entertainment . We book a table for 7.30 and sadly were back home for 9. The service was good and Manager apologetic, but the final straw was when our really nice waitress threw the bill down on the table after giving us lovely service all evening , not sure if she thought when we asked to speak to the manager she thought we was complaining about her not the case just that we had a uncomfortable meal after working all day . Would go back again but check what entertainment was on food great as always.

Walked in for an afternoon lunch. The food quality is a lot better than what it used to be. I would say it is on par with the Barton arms in Worsley, if not better. The atmosphere is great if you're drinking with friends on a weekend and the staff are very friendly too. Good food, a good selection of alcohol and good times!

Large open plan pub that we went to for an evenings meal - we had phoned to book. We went to the bar for drinks first and were served by a graduate of the Basil Fawlty charm school - straight faced, unsmiling and abrupt. Our table was reserved and we chose a starter of humous, olives and bread, followed by cheese and onion pie with mushy peas and chips. The starter did not arrive and the main courses were distinctly "frugal" - pie size massively reduced since our last visit, tiny pot off peas and unfresh chips - poor value for £10.45. Passing apology for the non-arrival of the starter. Nice pub, poor service, pub definitely gone downhill.

1st time i have tried the jw lees draught stout.. lovely pint, nice and malty, Tuesday was order a maincourse meal and have a free pudding or selected drinks. Fridays has 2 steak meals and a bottle of wine for £29.99,i went early evening and it was quiet but i believe weekends are busy, so book a table.

Very nice pub that serves lovely food, there is a good selection of beer, wine and spirits, the pub attracts a lot of people who are mainly locals it is also clean and tidy, the place is well situated on the edge of monton village / monton green, there is an out door seating area to the front that is mainly heated, my only 2 minor issues are is that the beer is slightly expensive and the car park is on the small side othet than that i would reccommend this place
