First time to the fox for a meal on the 1st june 2022as just moved to the area. Very clean tidy and spacious. The menu had a fantastic choice for food and the staff where extremely friendly and professional. Our waiter Richard was very friendly and helpful and had a great sense of humour. Highly recommend

My family and I have visited several times and have always had a pleasant experience. However yesterday we were greeted by a rather officious chap who proceeded to give us all a 'telling off' for not having booked. His attitude continued whilst taking and delivering our order. It was unpleasant and not at all welcoming. I can understand his frustration, but we were unaware that booking was necessary. We were all left feeling uncomfortable, and unsure as to whether or not we will return.

Really great food here, good atmosphere and good service. That's a big thing as my lady is a very fussy eater, so if she said it was great it must be so. Lol I had the steak pie, chips, peas and gravy. The pie was spot on, great pastry, super thick cut chips but for me the gravy was to thin. My good lady had chicken on a mash bed with some fine white sauce. I knew right away it was good because she went Ummmm. That's the tell tale it's really good.

The food was excellent it was my sisters 50th birthday we celebrated with all the family the staff were fantastic they couldn't have done enough for us. As I travelled 200 miles from home I was worried that they didn't cater for me as I am gulten free I needed off worried because they had loads of dishes I could eat. Having moved to the area this was the first pub we visited. Large internal area, outside beer garden and car park. The service was excellent and prompt, the pub is spotlessly clean and the bar is well stocked. The menu is small but covers all food tastes, well cooked, presented and respectfully priced. All do an excellent job abiding by the governments rulings- Track & Trace, table service, etc. Really hope this great local pub carries on doing well after the governments 'eat out' deal ends. Good Luck to you all. Went to the pub first time since this Pandemic started. Decided to eat there & booked a table prior to going.On arrival name & phone no taken(good idea) then shown to our table. Everything was ordered from the table by lovely cheerful staff. Food was great,very tasty & fresh (not just your normal 'pub grub' ) Did feel safe @ all times,& must admit it felt more 'normal' than expected. Really pleased to see the pub side & restaurant busy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Welcome back to having a great pub back in the area, which has had a lovely revamp. Highly recommended

Recently ate out here and have to say was a good experience. The service from arriving was superb and very, very welcoming and professional. Starters were very good between us all, they were delicious, tasty & piping hot and cooked by someone who actually is a chef and not a cook!! Mains again good but the only negative I have to say is the chicken skewers were more like a large starter than a main. There should of been more chicken on a main than on the starter. However, the chicken was delicious as was the sauce it came with. Deserts were tasty and plentiful. The young staff all very polite, well dressed and most welcoming, credit to them. Overall a very good meal with in my opinion outstanding service.

So good to have our local pub back again. The menu is not too big and small plates are available. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. Staff are so willing and polite. We heard about the future refurbishment plans and we are looking forward to being able to pop in for a meal when we don't feel like cooking. Our New Year's day lunch was just what we wanted, - - - - something light after big meal last night. The fish was tasty and well cooked and the ham, eggs, and yummy chips were perfect. We, 2 people and 2 dogs, went to eat here yesterday, Wednesday, on the "Eat Out to Help Out" scheme. From the moment we arrived our greeting at the door, by Dave, was friendly, polite, very efficient and professional. There was hand sanitiser at the door, and social distancing rules applied. The food was excellent, served with a polite and professional manner. There was also a good range of cask beers available at the bar. Will definitely be returning!

There is both a decent bar and a nice and relatively quiet restaurant area. The Fox hasn't been this good for a good few years so all credit to the new managers. Always full and a nice atmosphere.

Gem of a place, can take the dog in the bar area (and can get food in bar area) looked a bit rough but the food is epic. Was driving so didn't have a beer but saw landlord on tap. I was told this place has not long since changed hands,the pub its self look like it could do with a bit of a face lift ie seats carpets have seen better days but as I've said it has not long been taken over so keep that in mind. As for the food well if your looking for just pub grub you may be disappointed although the menu is tipical pub food they have taken it up a few levels I get the feeling the chef has worked at some higher end restaurant and to him I must apologies for asking for custard with my desert. All in all we would definitely go again and would definitely recommend it. You will get a warm and friendly welcome.
