Visited this bar today as was meeting up with a friend staying in the Innside Hotel. Nice bar. Well spaced out and comfortable seating. Good selection of beers and I would recommend the Spruce Black IPA. Music was a little loud but it was a Saturday night so to be expected. Good sized disabled toilet which was easy to get too. Would like to revisit in the summer to sit outside.

Walking into the gasworks you'd expect to see pipes. And that you do! But despite its name the gasworks is a pub. Situated in a newly developed area of Manchester city centre, this place is perfect for after work drinks. A good selection of beers and hipster pints (if you're that way inclined). Also I really enjoyed the food! You can even partake in a game of shuffleboard if that is your vibe. A good spacious pub with generally good vibes and staff.

Excellent food at reasonable prices. Serving until 9pm and with extensive beer selections including those brewed on site this bar is a good place to start, end or while away an evening in town. Various events are held throughout the week including quizzes, live music and shuffle board tournaments and with space inside and out there is nothing not to like.

Best thing about this experience was view from the terrace! Inside it's a bit gloomy and cavernous. Friendly and helpful staff, but 2 out of the 3 veggie main courses weren't available and we had to trawl through the app to find that out. (Would also be helpful to display the menu inside instead of just facing outside.)

Great place with great selection of Brewbar ales as you'd expect (a little pricey on Weissbier at £6 a bottle!), & also of main meals & snacks. Love the industrial decor & spacious interior. Social Distancing adhered to by courteous masked staff & table layout. In App ordering & payment & your order is tracked & updated until arrives at your table. The Hotdog meal is delicious & good value at £7! Highly recommend!

Nice place, though more hipster than genuine. Friendly service and ok food, the beer selection is quite large. Free shuffle board on Mondays, a recommended option to hang out while waiting for a late flight from the airport. Not bad at all!

Built on an old gas works and featuring its own in house brewery The Gas Works has an interesting aesthetic. Good selection of cask, keg and their own brewed beers. Didn't eat but the menu looked like traditional pub grub. Has a number of shuffleboard tables which really are a highlight, great way to spend an hour.

Love the location however the staff could be a tad bit more friendly. We've been going there weekly for the last 2 years and unlike Bunny Jacksons, the staff at Gasworks are more aloof and cold. The choices of cocktail and food could do with some improvement!

More fun here to be had here than being in bed with your favourite girl. Try the salt coated shuffle board while drinking beer or just short the white stuff to make your eyes water. The beers good too, and good gents facilities. Didn't check out the girls, I'd probably be arrested in this world.

Enjoyed a couple of games of shuffle board and they had some decent real ales on draft. The bar theme is industrial and it really works. The place had a nice feel to it and the staff were enthusiastic about their beers. Would like to go back and try some food

Rustic fitout for an airy feel. Craft beers with some cheap food in a friendly environment. There is seating outside which accommodates the crowds after work weather permitting. Inside seating can be a little loud. There are a couple shuffle board games to keep everyone amused.

A great place with a nice selection of Draft Beer (prices vary depending on the Brewery you choose), a decent menu of main meals and snacks with vegan options. Awesome industrial decor and spacious interior, but not much atmosphere (the bar is big but never too crowded). And there are two Shuffleboard tables (£15 an hour to play).

great place bouncer unfair ..... please read There were prob about 5 of us that visited on Friday night. it was a great venue loads of space and decent prices. on arrival the first few of us got in. the bouncer in the photo questioned one of our party not politely about being drunk but the party member is actually disabled...he thought otherwise but eventually he let hehe party member in. we were dancing away from all other customers because we all love to have a dance. one party Wolf whistled and over he came telling the party member 'you can't Wolf whistle or you will be out' we continued to dance. he was close bye watching us at all times. these pictures were taken after this event because I could feel he was going to cause us some kind of upset. A song had whistling in it and over he came to tell another member of the party 'you can't Wolf whistle in here. if this continues I will have to ask you to leave ' it was explained to him that it was in the song not us at which point he walked away. continuing to be watched and often walking over to watch us even closer. we continued to have a great time. then one party dropped a drink. I'm sure it wasn't the only drink dropped that night. he then threatened to through us all out but then backed off and cleared up the mess saying 'I told you this would happen' there was a warning slippy sign and after a while one of the party went to the bar to ask if the sign could be moved as it was dry. the bar man came over then the bouncer came over to interfer. they then had a conversation and the sign stayed. that's fine we danced around it. later on we continued to dance and one party whistled and that was it. he throw us out. we were at the door asking him for his SIA number and ID but he refused. one of the party spoke to the manager...Alex I think. who was lovely. he explained that it doesn't vouch for a throwing out and if we wanted to whistle that was OK. by this time some of the party had left and we just wanted the bouncers number to make a complaint. We didn't get this so unfortunately it means I have to do it this way. he said he called the police on a number of occasions which we were happy to wait for but the police never arrived while I was there. we were unfairly treated in all ways. if a member of the team could respond or make contact that would be great. there will be a formal complaint not against the bar just that individual bouncer.

Large open plan brew bar in a trendy and lively area near Deansgate and Oxford Rd stations. Been a few times before pre covid yet this was the first time they had their home brewed beer on. Very good. Great place for real ale and craft beers. Two large pub game tables; some kind of curling game. I used to work across the way at the now defunct Dunlop factory when this site was indeed a gas storage facility. Apparently enough to destroy a good chunk of the city had terrorists bombed it. Much safer now. Cinema and Indian Tiffin Room close by. Both superb.

Great food, cool place. Good selection of craft beers, some brewed on-site. They have a couple of shuffle boards which is good fun for something different to do. Loses a star due to service - amazed we got what we ordered as the person serving had clearly had a serious night out the previous night and couldn't keep track of what she was doing.

I really like this place. I went on my sister's birthday and hadn't been before. Very easy to get to from Oxford road station so it makes a good meeting point if you have friend coming from all over. The beer selection is good and the bar staff very friendly and efficient. I got served straight away on a Saturday night and was asked three times if I was being served while waiting for order. You don't get that every day. Well recommended.

Clean bright and welcoming i visited here today with the wife and dog. Love the fact they allow dogs and was offered water for my hound before i even ordered a drink k in my book that's a win. The beer is brilliant good choice good price good taste. The bar staff i spoke to knew there stuff and helped with questions about the menu and dietary needs. Food was yummy price was decent for Manchester. I will be going back.

Love this place. Fantastic beer selection with a number of their own brews that are made on site. Some thing for every palate. Good food too (from their Dockyard link) which is great when you lose track of time still trooping through all the beers you want to try! A Manchester must visit.

I visited on Friday night and it was rammed but there was a god mix of people as it is next door to Home. Good points are the pub games and efficient staff. The fact they brew their own is a mixed blessing and I suspect my companion's pint was off. They serve bar food which I didn't sample but the onion rings did look attractive. You can sit outside on a nice day but the bit facing Home even in sunshine is a canyon for wind the whistle down and can get uncomfortable quickly. Good pit stop though.

Food is well priced for town and not bad either. £7 for a bucket of chicken, £8 for pie & mash, you can't go wrong. Worth a shout amongst friends looking for 'decent pub food,' looking to keep things cheap. Great selection of beers, again at a decent price. Great music. Great location. Exposed pipes, industrial feel, loud indie tunes, you know the score by now. At least all the chairs are the same height. Big fan of the Dockyard in Spinningfields and this place is just as good.

Perfect for big group as it has lots of space indoor and outdoor. Lots of drinks options, mainly beers. In the summer time it gets very busy as just 2 steps away there is home theatre, a big open space that link the entrances where you can find table tennis and sun chairs. You should try it out!

This is a great bar if you like good beer, decent pub grub and shuffle board! Its a really nice space with plenty of space for drinking inside and out. The beer choice is always changing and the menu is really good too! Can’t beat this place for an evening with friends.

Quite a big bar with an open space layout, lots of sitting areas, and a section for games. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual. Decor is simple, cosy with a sense of industrial chic. There's quite a bit of home brewing done here (you can see the huge vats etc on display) so if you like to try different types of home brewed beer, you're in a for a treat! Lots of options and flavours, and if you're stuck as to what to try, there's also a ranking board to help you choose your drink! The crowd is very casual with most folks happily sat in their groups chatting away. The games area is pretty neat and there's a modern jukebox to choose your songs too.

Good selection of beers, shuffleboard available to play, good music and they had to world cup on. I've been twice to eat now and the food just isn't that great. It's bland. The burger wasn't great. It was so covered in sauce and onions that's all you could taste and the sauce wasn't really flavourful. The nachos had salsa, guacamole, jalapeños, sour cream and cheese sauce on them but again... They lacked flavour. I found myself routing out the jalapeños just to give it any kind of kick. The cheese says was bland and the salsa was just chopped up tomatoes.

The food just no worth the monies we paid! I had the smallest pieces of fried haloumi in the world for £4. The loaded potato skin was again the smallest ever! £6 for a tiny potato and some cheese on top- they said it was with bacon but I didn't find it. The drinks were alright 👍

Me and my friend come here alot, always friendly staff. They also have 3 alcohol free beers which is unheard of in most pubs. Catering for the tee total beer drinkers is normally a second thought. Would be awesome to see if they could brew one of there own and have it on tap :)

I can't believe they ran out of ribs at 6 pm on a Saturday evening!! Also unfortunately the chicken wings have breadcrumbs (!) on them but some of the salads are very good especially the quinoa salad. The beers are also pretty good and there is a good choice. The bar staff tend to vary quite a bit but overall are nice folk and quite helpful.

I came here with the dreaded vegetarian sister, after looking around all of the places to eat in the immediate area, to our surprise here had the best and most choices. It was not regretted, really decent food, amazing guest cider and a lovely warm inside and fairly quiet break from the madness of the christmas markets. Nice, relaxed environment for a few drinks. Lots of different beers to choose from, but some of them were rather pricey. Worth a visit, and as a bonus, you can see the statue of Friedrich Engels, just outside.

Since this is outside my work place I come here almost every Friday, not just the atmosphere is great but the chicken wings and their hot sauce are really nice too!! Would also recommend the sweet potatoe fries! Oh and they have 2 shuffleboards in their for competitions with friends! Worth a visit!

This bar is extremely loud - they play music at a higher volume than necessary leading to people having to shout over it. Sat at a booth with five of my friends and could only hear the ones next to me. Also, we went on a Friday night and 60% of the taps were off. Decent selection of bottles but they're very expensive (I paid £12 for a fruit beer). Would not go again unless in the area with no other option.

A friend took us here as it's near to where he works. I really liked the cosy atmosphere and the general vibe was that it was a place capable of being a great start to a night out or a place that you could have a quiet one. We ordered food which came quickly and tasted really nice too. I'd defintely return when given opportunity.

On the few occasions I've been it's been very busy, and all the bar staff I've seen pour/pull one drink at a time, so it takes ages to get served. Shufl (like airhockey meets curling) is fun and novel, and there's a reasonable selection of beers, although they're overpriced for what they are and the location.

It's a dark and intimate atmosphere that's good for couples or small groups. Drink selection offers some craft beers as well as your typical lagers. The music selection is great, expect bands like Pixies, Weezer Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Brew dog beer has it's own dedicated fans but it is bit like marmite - you will love it or hate it. The place was packed late on Saturday afternoon and it was difficult for our party of ten to get seats together. Boys vs girls shuffleboard - now you're talking. The Gas Works is wonderful! It looks like a theme pub from the outside but step through the wardrobe to a world of beer appreciation and an in-house brewery! The Canaan takes you to a world of milk and honey at 8.9%. Play Shufl while you can still stand and I haven't even got to the menu! Just go!

Great for a post work Friday beer. The bar can get a bit busy but there's lots of places to sit. Plus it has the bonus of being in a sun trap so it's great for those rare sunny days in Manchester

Informal bar, great for catching Up with friends after work. Large interior, lots of places to sit or stand, outside tables. Opposite the HOME theatre/cinema, so great if you are planning to go to watch something there. A few minutes from Deansgate Castlefield tram stop. Food was quick and cheap.
