Went for Breakfast. Very nice, however Beans portion is to small. Let you swap Blackpudding for another sausage. My daughter had French toast as well as breakfast, absolutely delicious. Food serve at good temperature. You don't feel rushed. Lovely Building, nice atmosphere.

Great meal as usual. On a warm evening we were in the back room. The glass roof was rolled back. Above us we could see the leaves of the silver birch tree shimmering in different shades of green. Magical. The glass roof was constructed round the tree, a really imaginative thing to do

Can’t thank the staff and the lead station enough. First time the family have all been in the same room since 2007 and it was made all the more special by The Lead Station! The food was amazing, staff super friendly (thank you Anne and Ellie!), the room was beautiful and organisation faultless!! THANK YOU would highly recommend for food, drinks and family gatherings you don’t want to host at home!! They will look after you perfectly! XXX

Staff were really friendly and my food was really nice but my friends was a bit rubbish. She thought she was getting a fancy cheese toastie and soup but it was a cold sandwich and overall the meal wasn't anything to write home about. despite the size of them, they did have adequate baby changing facilities! And the location is lovely ☺️

Visited with a large family group today. The food was fab and the staff were so helpful and attentive without being too much. They got the kids food out as soon as it was ready and my food was amazing. Next time we’re in Chorlton we’ll visit.

A good gastro pub. Food is well done, prices a little more than usual but worth it, and staff helpful. Good for brunch, roast, family gatherings and beer. Note that this place is more about quality than quantity. The burger for instance is very well made, juicy, full of flavour and well accompanied with the bun and crisp lettuce and tomato. It's just the right amount but smaller than other pubs in the area.

I last visited here years ago and I'm glad the place is still going. The chicken wings starter was very nice. My companions had the steak/chips and duck and they were all very happy with the quality. I had the chicken tagliatelle which was ok though slightly bland in taste. Ice cream dessert awesome.

My son and I were very cold and hungry on Beech Road Saturday night turned away from everywhere the pub we were in decided to close the kitchen 2 hours early???? I have been going in the Lead Station for about 12 yrs now and have yet to be disappointed. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the food has always been very good. Could change the menu a bit more frequently is my only suggestion. The French martinis are fabulous.

A reliably good place to eat with fantastic staff who are friendly and approachable. Something I appreciated was the lady who greeted us made sure we all sanitised our hands and checked in using the covid app. They have a great selection of drinks and a limited menu but there's something for everyone on there. Something to note is that it's pronounced in the name way as the element, l-ed not l-eed. We asked about why it's named that way and I'd recommend asking one of the staff the same question as it was quite interesting.

Had a fab takeaway roast from The Lead Station this weekend. Great service on pick up - we paid a little extra for some extra roasties & yorkies and the roasts did not disappoint. Lovely, crunchy veg, the roast beef was super tasty and not chewy at all. Our housemate is also a vegan and said the nut roast was one of the nicest she'd had. We also ordered two brownies for dessert which were so delicious, light & gooey - could eat it all over again! And the price was such great value for money. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys!

Not my favourite on this occasion Service good but food wasn't to my taste. Vegetarian gravy (which seemed to come with everything) was almost tasteless and asked for beef med-well done, what arrived was med-rare. Have eaten here before and fancied a roast dinner this time ( not a good choice on my part it seems ) but next time will have the fish and chips I enjoyed before.

I'm afraid the food has gone downhill. Have eaten here many times. This was our first visit back after the lockdown and although the service was great the food was very underwhelming. The burgers my son's had were dry and the meat was of poor quality (we sent one back which was burnt) our meals were ok but not the normal 'tasty' I would normally expect. I had the aubergine melanzane and my wife had a quinoa and 3 bean burger. Even the Mac and cheese side was poor. Sad but true...

This restaurant is an excellent choice for great food in a relaxed atmosphere. My family have been regular visitors for over 20 years. Fixed price menu before 7pm is very good value. After your meal you can go to any number of lovely bars and pubs on the same road. If you haven't been to Chorlton before, The Lead Station is one of the must visit places.

As the Mrs is Vegan and I have major issues eating due to having throat surgery we are constantly looking for new places to eat. Local to us we found The Lead Station which caters nicely for all appetites. Service and food was excellent, professional and polite. Prices were a little steep but good food is worth paying for. Would state it was a little loud tonight, but it was filled with laughter and people enjoying their get-togethers. We would certainly recommend Lead Station to our friends. Keep up the good work.

Lovely place, great choice of cocktails and food all looks lovely. We had the fish finger sandwich and the burrito. Salted caramel and vanilla icecream for the dessert was a winner. A good mix of brightly lit and quieter dark areas. Staff are non-invasive and diligent.

Visited on a Saturday lunch. From time seated to being served our meal was an hour. Admittedly it was busy but would have been nice to have been updated. Meal was good, table checkbook was completed. Nice food, cocktails and drinks and the building had a nice atmosphere. The Sunday roast deal is good value and offers roast beef, chicken or pork belly with other options available. Probably best to book on a Sunday and weekend evenings. Service was a bit slow throughout.

I had a great time here on a Sunday afternoon, the food was good and the staff was friendly. The place itself was not busy, which is a point in its favour as every other place on the street was packed. It's also quite nice inside, it's bright an left airy, and has a yard which is covered. This means that even in the chilly spring days you can sit in the sun. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area looking for brunch. I do have to mention that the garlic bread was not really what I was expecting, I ordered garlic bread with cheese and tomato, and I basically got a slice of pizza. Not bad, and not a negative, just a bit... Different.

Been here a few times, so far my favourite place for breakfast in Chorlton. Decided to have a birthday breakfast meal here with about 10 other friends, kids included. Since it's in December with a few seats reserved, I had put down a deposit. Meal was lovely as always, ordered (my favourite) the usual steak & eggs. Was really busy on a Sunday as per, but service was perfect regardless. Couple days afterwards I recieved a call from them to say they had forgotten to take the deposit off the bill. Which is very nice of them because I completely forgot & wouldn't have noticed! That alone, just proves to me what a lovely place this is, along with what seems to be a tightly knit staff. I hope The Lead Station have a lovely Christmas & New Year.

The area of Chorlton boasts many good places to chill and eat. This was the second time visiting the lead station. After a long walk in the area, I couldn't have stopped at a better place to have a delicious roast dinner and pudding - of course. It must be said that the thought and planning of this place was executed really well. The natural lighting opens this place up and welcomes all. Service was great too, very professional. If you're in the area, always worth stopping here.

Breakfast for the soul. Delicious sausages which look deep into your eyes as the implore you to devour them, all the while the bacon and black pudding wait jealously for their turn to be pricked by the pleasant sting of the cutlery. The egg, hash brown & mushrooms fulfil their duty admirably all marshalled ably by a juicy tomato perched precariously on the edge of the plate. Coffee comes & coffee goes as it is want to do and by the end all are satisfied.

First thing to mention are the stupid springy double saloon doors to get in. If you have a pram, don't bother. However, good food and good staff make for a pleasant meal. My wife's food was under cooked and it was dealt with very well. Sometimes it's when something isn't right that you find out what a place is really like.

The Lead station has very a mixed reputation in Chorlton. Personally, I have only been there for breakfast and the breakfast was very good. Generous portion and good orange juice. The only problem with the Lead station is the fact that it sits in the shade when it is sunny. However, apparently they have a back garden. (I have yet to explore this area and will update when I do) and also a function room.

08/10/22: The Lead Station opened in August 1995. Upmarket establishment with a small selection of craft ales and fantastic food. We sat outside on the occasion as part of out Corlton Ale Trail. Benches heated by infrared lamps. Adequate on a cool evening. Dog friendly, outside at least, bowl of fresh water provided. Formerly Chorlton Police Station when it opened in 1885. It was also home to a Police Sergeant, his family of 5 and 2 Police Constables from 1911. The headstone dated 1885 adorned above it's entrance. Old Police cells became the kitchen, the Station refers to its Police origin and apparently Lead used in construction of the bar. The Lead Station also opened a sister venue in Manchester's Northern Quarter in April 2015, named Tariff and Dale. Tariff and Dale so named after it's location in a Victorian fabric warehouse on the corner of Tariff Street & Dale Street. To celebrate 20 years in business, in February 2016, it honoured 2 decades by launching its own cook book, headed by owner Nick de Sousa. Nick took over The Lead Station in 2007 and laid it's foundations for one of the cafe cultures we see so often today. The book was a collaboration of owner, staff and 2 head chefs, with over 30 years experience amongst them.
