I had my birthday party here and highly rate the staff. They are so friendly - bar man for my party was lovely, other staff helping out were brilliant and accommodating. We just wanted a nice chill event for everyone to get together and it was perfect. No hassle or fuss, some of my friends were planning on booking the same place for their own events. Hosted a baby shower in events room this weekend, had a wonderful time. Buffet was delicious, especially the quiche and sausage rolls, great selection of freshly made sandwiches with home cooked meats and more. Absolute value for money. Staff were exemplary. They were committed to making sure the event went without a hitch; attentive to every need. Cannot praise them enough. Highly recommend.

Pub bit on the expensive side at 4.05 per pint of Carlsberg. Very nice decoration and excellent service from the bar staff on visit on the 3rd of September. My visit was for a function room birthday and I found myself going down to pub bar than the function room one due to selection. Pub was well maintained and clean. Very good atmosphere. Four out of five stars purely because of the price of beer and cider.

Had a cracking burger and a few good pints in here last Sunday with some friends. They had live music on too so the atmosphere was top notch.

I went for the quiz. I can't therefore comment on the food but it is a jw lees place so I have high hopes, but no pressure! The quiz lasted 2 hours, fast paced, well conducted by the quiz master, the questions pretty challenging so bring a brain. It is a phone quiz so you download an app. I haven't done a phone quiz before but I am now enlightened and might go to more phone based pub quizzes. I won £10 drinks for second place and 1st place I think got a meal. Hopefully that'll be me next week. Get yourself down on a Wednesday night for 8:30 pm to have a good quiz time.

I enjoy their battered Fish and chips. Recently they changed the batter recepie (delicious) crispy batter and moist COD inside. But the last three times I have been recently between (5pm & 7pm) they have run out of Cod!!! Annoying and deserpointing. I suspect on busy nights they have a rough idea of dinning No's.. Since the last relaxation from Covid 19 trade has increased. So one would think they would increase their order"Sooo Please order more. After all they would make more money("It's not, rocket science one has speculate too accumulate I ate") I hate complaining (and I am sorry for my complatint.) / The staff our excellent, hard working under pressure, friendly, imfomative and patient!!!!!, ( nothing seems too be too much trouble .) 😌🤗👍😊 Sooo, A BIG THANK YOU FRONT LINE STAFF FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY. 😊👍👍🙌😁🙏🙏🙏

Always clean and bright with a good view of the bowling green through the large back Windows. Service efficient and cheerful and the food is basic pub fare but of good quality, well presented, freshly prepared and the portions are generous. Dog friendly too.

The way the pub is choosing to safeguard customers is refreshing. They continually and politely asked for customers to wear masks, made hand gel always available and the tables were well spaced. Thank you much appreciated

The food here is absolutely amazing, I go nearly every Sunday for brunch they also have gluten-free options and alternatives. I have no bad words to say about it. The bar staff are lovely and welcoming and offer a range of alcoholic beverages and cocktails. Great place in the summer as they have ample outdoor seating.

Had Christmas lunch here on Xmas Day. Starter & dessert we're lovely, but the main dish was very small. Seems like everything on the plates were counted for example, 3 small sprouts, spoonful mash, one turnip etc. The 2 roast potatoes were potatoes with a skin on as it seemed they hadn't been in the oven long enough to actually roast properly. However, I cannot praise the Manager, Sam enough, nor his staff on duty that afternoon. They looked after us all extremely well. Nothing was too much bother for them, even down to ensuring my daughter's dog was comfortable.

Refurbished several times over this is a beautiful pub and building. Serving JW LEES beers. Overlooking the bowing green at the back it’s big and spacious and the food is very good indeed. Staff are nice as well which is good.

Used to be a firm customer, coming here multiple times a week. Came back after a vacation of a couple of months....oh gosh. What happened to the food? Prices have gone up and quality has gone down. I had the salt and pepper chicken fries which came with pitta and yoghurt and sirachi. I had a few drops of sirachi to the point I couldn't taste it, half of a pitta and the chicken was dry. £6 for a bowl of dry and bland 'salt and pepper chicken' opps. Sorry for the review guys but its honest.

Smart enough, but the character is missing since it's most recent refurb, and the astroturf in the beer garden is frankly ludicrous, especially in Bohemian, environmentally-friendly Chorlton, where plastic is largely despised. The food is OK, but nothing special and service tends to be slow. All that said, the fire in the front parlour section is lovely on a winter's day though; largely compensating for other drawbacks and making this a pleasant enough stop for one or two drinks with a friend after a shopping trip.

The Lloyd's was once a thriving live music venue, as well as a pub, with different genres of music on every day of the week and an eccentric Polish chef creating fusion food (often free to customers on music nights - his spicy sausage hot pot on the Cajun night was a particular triumph). A few years ago though new owners took over. They gave it a makeover, gentrifying it, utilising the homogenised trendy pub template that never seems authentic, even if it's ostensibly attractive. When I saw astro turf being installed in the beer garden, (after I finished laughing) I knew that this previous Chorlton gem had lost its soul and I mourned its loss as it went the same way as The Horse and Jockey: smart but soulless. The food is OK and there's still a pleasant view of the immaculate bowling green from the dining area, and it's a pleasant enough place to meet a friend for a glass of wine in the winter if you can get a table by the fire, but it's no longer somewhere I want to spend any great length of time; OK for a quick visit, then on somewhere with a bit more life.

Loved it, this wasn't just any old pub; It was a community hub/pub. Ladies in the corner knitting, a group playing their Yukalaylies. On tok of that a great choice of drinks and well prepared and presented food. Definately will be using this place again..

A very lovely pub located near the 'four banks' in Chorlton. The place is a traditional pub with a cosy interior that feels like a home away from home. With plenty of seating available, attentive / friendly staff and the male and female toilets represented with pictures of Richard Gere and Julia Roberts (respectively), this is a stable stop off for a good pint or a hearty meal.

Recent refurbs have turned it into a gastro pub but the food is fairly average. No dairy free milk for tea and coffee which is a disgrace considering it's in the heart of Chorlton in 2018. Poor choice of veggie/vegan options but pleasant staff and surroundings.

A regular here again, menu changes bi-annually with staples remaining pretty much the same, always something tempting, also come here for an occasional breakfast, again plenty of choice. Never a bad meal but not yet outstanding, the salads sound better on paper than they are and you sometimes get an overwhelming drizzle (understatement) of honey and mustard dressing (try offering the dressing on the side so the customer can decide what and how much they want) would however, recommend the sunday roasts, well cooked plenty of meat and good veg selection, plus, gravy in a boat so you are in control.
