Reviews of The Marble Arch Inn
m. g.
Popped to the Arch for a spot of lunch to take advantage of the Winter 50% off food offer. A couple of pints of top class cask beer, delicious food and above all the the most beautiful pub in Manchester. Brilliant.
H. B.
I've been to this pub a fair bit but never sampled the roast until last Sunday. We ordered lamb and a vegan roast, and both were the best we have had in our lives. I cannot begin to even describe how tasty this food was. My girlfriend said it was THE best vegan food she's ever had in a restaurant. The staff are also so welcoming and friendly. The delicious food in combination with the ebullient staff really made our day. Thanks guys!
This is without a doubt a 10/10
G. B.
Really great public house and micro brewery. Great food and staff with loads of history on the wall. Whats that sloping floor all about. A must for beer drinkers of class
A. L.
Excellent food, though a bit pricey. When faced with a fussy eater, they made her a special meal that she was very happy with. Great beer, approved by my personal stout connoiseur. Recommended!
S. P.
Great food and beers. Friendly staff. Going back again tomorrow evening.......
Went back the following evening, not disappointed. I wish I could pick up the pub and the staff and take it back to Southampton so it could be my local!
C. J.
A really lovely pub. Me and a mate catch up once a month or so in Manchester and this is usually the pub we keep coming back to.
+
They're a brewery too so most of the beers are their own, and they're really good quality. About 4 or 5 cask choices covering a range of styles, plus 5-10 kegs that are very nice. Pretty good price too compared to some other pubs nearby.
A lovely building. The pub room is really nice and traditional.
Very friendly staff - we went last night and they made a great effort.
In the summer, the beer garden is great
Food is solid - more accompaniment to the beer rather than standout in its own right
-
The food menu was a bit scattergun with different cuisines. But we had the pie and it was excellent
N. G.
This incredibly beautiful pub stashed away from the city centre comes with a real relaxed atmosphere. The interior has been well kept and the place is clean. The staff are friendly and chatty and a great selection of beers. We did not try the food but it looked good. There is an outdoor space available for the good weather.
V. B.
Lovely pub. Food excellent, quite gastro pubby. Service great. We sat outside in a little pod and felt very covid safe.
M. S.
Wonderful historic pub in Manchester. Superb selection of beers and warm ,friendly atmosphere.
P. B.
Popped in on Monday evening with my girlfriend. Hadn't been for years. Happy to say the Beer is just as good as it ever was (if not better!) and the pub itself has the same, cosy old pub atmosphere that sets it apart from many other pubs in and around the city.
B. O.
Just been in the Marble Arch this lunchtime for a couple of quiet pints, just watching the world over a 90 minute period.. Faye was behind the bar, the place was busy, and apart from the chef, she looked to be single handed. My god that girl was like the proverbial Manchester Bee - she did not stop. I hope you know what gem you have there! She looked a little under the weather but was still making sure everyone was being attended to. She was literally doing the work of two people today; I didn't see her stand still for the whole time I was in there- so do the right thing and pay her double for today and give her another day off ... Faye - you're a star!
B. J.
Lovely friendly pub with friendly staff.
*Well that was then. Now August 2022 been in and really loving the new outside cabins and what a fantastic Sunday lunch. With my favourite beer... Hindmarch 🍺
K. B.
Called here on a Wednesday lunchtime. Beer and wine great as always. The food we had also exceptional… not our first visit and won’t be our last. A must for us on any visit to Manchester 👍
N. J. C.
We arrived around 9.30pm and the kitchen was closed, which was to be expected. We were enjoying the beers... Spanish husband was delighted by the booze recommendations but we needed food. I asked if there was a late supermarket nearby where we could buy pies (his other obsession when we are in the UK). The bloke sitting having a drink at the bar listening to all this happened to be the off-duty chef having an after-work drink, and kindly offered us a takeaway steak and ale pie. Incredible... can't wait to come back and eat it straight out of the oven.
Muchísimas gracias a Rob, Paddy and Cameron!
S. G.
Stunning interior, friendly staff, excellent beer. Didn't try the food but it smelled amazing! Cute booths in the beer garden, too.
N. H.
Had a lovely Sunday roast here this time. It's not cheap but it's great quality. Amazing selection of beers I've tried on previous visits. Usually busy, not too busy, despite being off the beaten track. One of the best traditional pubs in Manchester. Highly recommended.
d. m.
Wonderful Sunday lunch. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Great selection of drinks all served by great staff. Fabulous Thank you
t. k.
Favourite pub in Manchester great beer great food in an original cosy setting. The manager Faye is exceptional.
R. J.
Love this traditional pub in Victorian gin palace style. Excellent beers, that have been great for years!
E. W.
so gorgeous and relaxed...a gem in manchester
C. G.
Beautiful pub, fantastic beer, lovely food. Make an effort to go here and you’ll keep going back.
J. G.
Love this old worldly pub, even pods in the beer garden now so you're party can sit together. Card only is my only bug-bare.
P. G.
Had a beautiful meal this evening, braised featherblade of beef, roasted veg and really flavoursome mushroom and port sauce. Service warm and efficient and 'COVID friendly'.
S. B.
Absolutely love the Marble Arch!!!
This place is beautiful... old school pub with lots of beautiful tiles on all surfaces but yet manages to maintain a cozy and welcoming feel to it.
The staff are always amazing and the range of beers on offer from Marble Brewery are simply outstanding.
Food options that cater for most tastes with a modern twist on traditional dishes and a range of dishes available.
It's a little bit out of the city centre but absolutely worth the walk.
C. R.
Our second time in this great pub (it's a long way from Newcastle!) Excellent well kept beers. Well worth the short walk from the city centre if you're just visiting.
s.
Beautiful pub inside and great drinks but please update your website - it states you serve food on a Saturday until 8.30pm. Tried to order just before 8pm with menus on the bar and staff said the kitchen had closed. I'm here for work and had chosen the pub because of its food service times and being next to my hotel; accurate info makes a lot of difference.
R. C.
Wow, what a surprising food menu and delicious as well (I recommend the mackerel cutlets are amazing)
The Early grey beer is absolutely perfect
P. B.
Was a little reluctant to venture out to this bar but had heard positive things.
So glad we made the effort, exceptional bar! If you’re lucky enough to get a table that is, was packed at lunchtime on a Sunday.
Awesome drinks selection and massive dog fans so we’ll definitely be returning.
Recommended to all
Have been back since first review and tried the beef roast dinner, INCREDIBLE!!! If you’re lucky enough to get one as they sell out fast from 12 noon.
W. O.
Great beer and fantastic food, beaten only by the staff, really friendly
T. G.
The best place in Manchester to while away and afternoon. The beer is always excellent and the food is great too.
O. G.
Coming highly recommended from my beer industry colleagues, this little spot did not disappoint. There's a lot of construction going on in the surrounding Manchunian neighborhoods, but all of the dust and noise melt away when you step inside The Marble Arch. The floor slopes downward. The benches show patina of thousands of weary posteriors. The marquee around the top of walls boasts any number of drinks, nevermind just beer.
The lovely nostalgia of the pub is contrasted beautifully with the offerings - all the beer, from the standard Marble Bitter to the Earl Grey IPA - are fresh and contemporary. The food is a twist and flair on pub grub; elevated, but not too much to make it in accessible.
A truly wonderful gem that is a must visit, as my friend so eloquently put it, "on pain of death."
S. M.
Great range of beers and quality food well worth a try. Has a small beer garden in case it stops raining. Good food too. Tried the haggis egg starter (yum!) and steak pie. Very nice and well priced.
B. M.
Excellent! Great food, good beer, lovely well kept and managed pub. Highly recommend!
J. H.
Nice hidden gem in Manchester.
Lovely old world Manchester Pub. Serves lovely graft ale's. Reasonable priced drinks.
F. B.
Nice old pub, full of character and damn good drinks
S. S.
Characterful pub with great beers at good prices, decent food, can’t fault it
S. C.
Great pub with great staff, real ales and lovely food.
Really friendly atmosphere and a great place to meet and enjoy some chill time.
H. S.
Had heard this pub did good food, and it did not disappoint. Truly exceptional food, with the best gravy we'd all ever tasted (and we're no strangers to a gravy boat). Also lovely staff, and a brilliant selection of beers and ales. Well worth a visit
L. O.
Worth walking the slight extra distance to get to. A gorgeous example of Victorian pub architecture. Staff know their beer and give good advice if you're after it. Lots of great Marble beers on tap. A roaring fire on a cold day. Lovely local, friendly feel.
A. B.
Went after Man City v Fulham a few weeks back and got there before the masses piled in. We were sat at a dainty little table near the bar, so we had prime pint access. Waiting on staff were superb, refilled our pints without us asking, beer was lovely. Also it must be added that my almost ancient Father reckons the Steak and Ale Pie on offer was the best he had ever had. High praise indeed. Sloping mosaic floors and tiled walls were the icing on the cake.
M. C.
Top food and unique structure.
A must visited pub! Excellent selection of beers.
K. S.
Authentic old English pub with one of the best pub food ever tasted. Their chips are to die for. Lots of beer, not so many options for Gun or Wine. But then again, it's an English pub.
m. m.
Been coming to the Marble for over 20 years. I hadn't been for over 6 months, but very glad to find the beer on top form. I went to 3 other pubs that afternoon, all of them in the good beer guide, but the pint(s) I had in the Marble was by far the best. I also had fish and chips, which for £12 was excellent - decent size portion of fish, lovely batter, homemade tartar sauce. A top quality pub.
R. D.
Great pub! Amazing beers and cozy environment. The food is also good, specially the fish and chips and fish pie ;)
G. W.
We will go back.
We were in the area for my birthday and the pub was recommended by the local brewery - I know why, it's great!
There are nice outdoor seating "sheds" actually, shed is an injustice, more like private covered seating for 6 with lights and heating! Some open seating too and inside the pub is gorgeous - traditional tiled and just so, nice.
The staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming, beer well kept and food was very good indeed and excellent value.
It's a shame we are not so local but I will go again, even if it means a special trip to get there - yes, I enjoyed it that much!
J. R.
Very olde worlde.. beautiful inside. Beer is good too. Very clean and good real ale.
I. f.
I've just been here for a mate's birthday. As a veggie and someone who hates beer/lager/ale I really wasn't expecting much... but wow, was I wrong!
I had nori tempura as a starter which was pretty delicious (mates said the fish and chips and burgers were good) and then I got a pudding.
Sticky toffee pudding. Seriously, I'm hyper critical of food but this I can't fault. Probably the best pudding I have eaten in my entire life. Wow, just wow! Unfortunately the chef isn't single (it was so good I asked)
.
Topped with some pretty good cocktails and really nice staff I can't recommend this place enough! I will be back!
If you go, try the Manc sticky toffee pudding and also try the Manhattan. You will be impressed!
D. M.
The beers are really excellent. Great choice and great tasting. A bit on the pricey side, but that's the way it is around the northern quarter these days. The food looks really excellent too and it's a fabulous bar. A must visit if you're in Manchester and you like your ales.
M. M.
Marble brewery pub. Great selection of Marble beers on both cask and keg as well as guest beers. Very tasty pub grub too and really friendly staff. Some beautiful original decor too. Great pub.
V. M.
Fabulous old pub in Ancoats. Friendly and welcoming. Good choice of beers , great atmosphere.
K. T.
Some of the best pub food we have had in this city so far, relaxed, warm and welcoming service. Tap choices are nice and varied without seeming overwhelming.
D. G.
Great little pub with excellent beer and very friendly, helpful staff.
T. B.
Extremely nice pub, I'd not been before, but I'm definitely coming back.
B. N.
The food was delicious and there is a fairly good selection of beers. Nice to drink from a local brewery
S. T.
Traditional British Pub with a quaint sloping floor.
Excellent choice of Marble Brewery & Guest ales.
Very friendly staff & reasonable prices.
J. A.
Great Sunday roast, inreresting beer selection, good service.
m. g.
Stunning building with great food and probably the finest ale in the world
T. H.
We booked a table for lunch midweek having seen reviews and we were not disappointed, the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
The beer - I tried Alf and I'm hoping this may be a regular as it suited my particular taste.
The food. According to my wife it was one the best tasting risotto ever. I had the fish and chips and could not fault the size of fish or the taste.
We have already recommended to friends and will hopefully visit again very soon.
J. H.
Wanted to come here for a while and the 50% off food offer provided a great excuse. A couple of pints of top class cask beer, delicious food and above all the the most beautiful pub in Manchester
A. D.
Went on Monday, it’s now Wednesday and I’ve only just recovered from some of the most incredible local beer I’ve ever tasted.
Beautiful pub interior with great staff.
Me and my mate went there for one drink before lunch and didn’t leave until many hours (and beers) later. We just sat having a good laugh with everyone.
Specifically, Cameron, Maj (sorry if I spelt your name wrong) and Mia.
100% recommend and 100% will be returning, much to the displeasure of the staff, I’m sure! Haha
Didn’t get to try the food, but just another good excuse to go back again! ❤️
U. G.
Beautiful pub,great beer and service.
A. H.
Love this place, great beer, amazing food and the beer garden is lovely.
J. M.
My furstt time in the arch yesterday . How I've never come across this pub before . So glad I've found it .
d. p.
Nice staff, cool place, specially the wooden huts outside.
A. B.
My new favourite pub in Manchester! Beautiful old building, excellent food and beer, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful!
The cheese board was fantastic! Will definitely come back the next time I visit Manchester!
J. S.
A wonderful friendly pub, one of the best in Manchester if you like good beer and good food. Went in with my wife and son today and had some lovely beer and a smashing lunch. My son had squid in piri piri batter which was excellent, I had my usual excellent Marble burger, and my wife enjoyed her fish and chips. Love this place, if you haven't been you must try it.
R. M.
Simply a superb pub with superb beer. Best in Manchester methinks!
M. T.
A beautiful old working class pub, this is what pubs are all about. With its own selection of ales from Marble Brewery. A must if you are in the neighborhood.
S. W.
First visit to this lauded pub. Loads of character, beers in great condition and a good atmosphere on a Tuesday early afternoon when the pub was 70% full. Must be doing something right!
L. A.
Fantastic range of beers. Food looks great but not eaten here yet. Everyone raves about the food though.
P. H.
Had a really lovely evening here on Saturday. The staff were excellent , friendly and efficient without being overbearing. Can recommend the food and the variety of beers - super! Danny was a great waiter as was the other young man on duty earlier - we appreciated their humour and attentiveness. Thank you the Marble Arch, we will certainly visit again!
C. H.
A great, historic pub well worth a visit. The inside is beautiful and hasn't been changed much over the years. The beers are brewed onsite and they have a great variety you won't get anywhere else. Welcoming feeling and great staff. Always worth a visit if you're nearby.
M. H.
Food was fabulous, lots of decent ales, and staff lovely. Definitely be going back soon.
K. L.
The ultimate real ale venue not far from the Northern Quarter on Rochdale Road in Manchester. Well worth a look and don't take the car.
Five years on and it's just essential that I make an update on 22nd September 2022....
Just enjoyed the best burger ever and this isn't just a casual statement this burger was superb and I understand home made. Just another reason to keep this most famous and popular of venues on your must do and must do again lists!
When it comes to ales, Marble Pint, Marble stout and Ogden stout are amongst the best in the country and at 62 years of touring I am well placed to make the judgement! Enjoy!
S. S.
This is an amazing little pub. It really is like stepping back in time when you get inside. The beers are very much up to date and there's a vibrance about the place - definitely one for the beer connoisseurs amongst us!
L. W.
Sunday dinner was great, the beers on offer fabulous and the staff were attentive.
Only negative and it's a small one. I had the vegan roast and my brother had the vegetable, seemed like they were the same, with just one or two bits removed (from vegan), meaning a smaller meal. Would be better if they added a few extra helpings onto the vegan option, so that portion sizes were the same.
A. R. L.
I've popped in there for a beer and had a great time. Good beer from Marble Beers and lovely, old and original decor features.
P. N.
Nice quirky little bar good beers and good service too. A bit pricy though.
A. W.
Only had one drink,but nice
atmoshere. Card only payment
L.
Personally, I think The Marble Arch is one of Manc’s best pubs
The building’s stunning, and everyone’s always been really friendly (staff + customers!) whenever I’ve been in. Drinks are brilliant - even marking vegan options!? Honestly couldn’t recommend highly enough
J. H.
Fantastic decor, cask kept in excellent condition. Price range is slightly on the high side but we’ll worth it weighed against the service, product quality & atmosphere. Mia, Cameron & Maj (sp?) fantastic hosts, thank you for your hospitality!
M. M.
Fantastic example of a traditional style English pub / brewery that has enhanced its beers with new methods, ingredients and styles. Food is also outstanding and well priced.
J. A.
Great beers and great dishes! It was really really good!
F. E. S.
One of my favourite pubs in the whole world.
D. G.
Fantastic place well worth finding. Very knowledgeable staff. Be calling again.
T. B.
Staff are great. Super friendly and knowledgable. Beers are reasonably priced and the interior is stunning. What’s not to love?
N. D.
Very impressive interior and atmosphere. Own brewed beers are good but very much not the cheapest. Around £5 per pint
S. M.
I came aling on the recommendation of friends and really enjoyed the bar. Great beer and service, with a very amiable and friendly atmosphere.
All appropriate Covid19 rules are observed with contactless payments and a one way system round the bar.
The cask beer is very well kept with a great range to try.
G. H.
Excellent traditional boozer in town, just out from the northern quarter. Beautiful interior and even better beers.
D. W.
Good selection of beers and they do off sales. Good food menu too. Wasn't noisy and is dog friendly
C. H.
Really lovely staff, fantastic fax machine. They let me use the fax machine so I could fax my mum. 10/10 would fax again
K.
Had possibly the best burger of my life so far. The food is amazing and staff are welcoming and friendly. This is how a pub should be!
D. B.
Great Pub - great interior, sloping floor? Great Ales
G. S.
One of the true homes of Craft Beer in Manchester. Always worth a visit for superb beers and great food.
M. W.
Brilliant! Historic Manchester pub and the home of Marble beers! Next time we visit we will be trying the food which sounds and looks amazing!
R. c.
One of, if not the best pub in Manchester, cosy little pub with unique decor, excellent food.... The ales are fantastic, highly recomend Earl Grey tea what an ale, goes down way to easy and I think its 7.5%.... Also has a nice beer garden for them warm evenings....
P. W.
Great pub with lovely original features. Lots of choice in their beers and ciders with some brewed by the pub.
Food was also excellent as was the service.
No cash taken in here.
P. M.
Gorgeous pub with pretty tiles on the walls and ceilings. Great beer selection and the added bonus of a slanty floor for a free drunk experience.
I. C.

R. A.
Fantastic beers and a great atmosphere. This pub is amazing inside and the food is great too. It hasn't changed, it's still amezin!

L. S.
Lovely proper pub! Amazing decor inside and a lovely, well-kept and clean beer garden. First time visiting but won't be the last. Really impressive social distancing measures in place and friendly, pleasant staff. Can't wait to come back for food! What a great pub and an amazing find!
J. A.
Fantastic pub with charter and great staff and of course beer
P. M.
Loved the American Pilsner and the outdoor seating area was a sun trap at the back
R. B.
Brilliant pub. Fantastic High Victorian architecture. Beers fabulous. Some a bit high in terms of ABV though. Well worth a visit
C. F.
Gorgeous old bar selling craft beer - fab hangout with relaxed vibes and great beer
D. S.
Still one of the best pubs in Manchester. If in manchester it is worth the walk.

I. V.
Really good real ale brewery pub in Manchester, lots of tiles and brick decorations,2 rooms for seating and toilets on one level, strong beer's and cider and can's to take out and food menu, enjoy
M. G.
Great cask. They played Alberta Cross which is a legendary band I haven’t heard anyone else play. Could use better looking bartenders, Danny and Alex didn’t quite do it for me.
H. M.
Great pub, good food and nice beers.
R. M.
Great pub, great staff, lovely food. Not much more to add
L. E.
Awesome beer, service, food, look and feel. One of the best pubs in Manchester.

P. C.
You can dine outdoors, feet hidden from the eyes of passing people.
A. J.
Great pub with good variety of drinks and lovely food. I can understand why it won Manchester pub of the year.
B. E.
A bit of a walk, on the edge of the Northern Quarter but well worth it.
Stunning interior, absolutely beautiful original features plus an unexpected and quite nice beer garden.
Good range of beers both on cask and cans/bottles.
Do not miss the fridge in the hallway near the toilets, it has an incredible selection of beers (Bells Two Hearted Ale!!)
Food looked delicious although we didn't eat there.
W. E.
Gorgeous pub, almost converted me to cask beer.
J. C.
Great pub to visit, decor like stepping back in time, fantastic Beer, great staff and nice and friendly customers keep safe jc
A. S.
Was always our go-to place for Sunday lunch, and we were genuinely excited to go back after 18m+. However, we were left pretty disappointed with the average fare, and willingness to attribute changes to Covid that are obviously designed to save money. Worst things.....frozen, rock hard roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese with no discernible pieces of cauliflower. Underwhelming is being kind, particularly given the price hike.
S. C.
Great beers. Friendly staff and fantastic character
S. N.
Amazing service, great beers!
S. T.
Great beers amazing cheese menu 22 cheeses !
S. M.
Beautiful little old school pub with quality beer
M. R.
My sister and I visited here for the first time and it was amazing beautiful pub and beautiful food
d. b.
Clean, Oldy worldy pub, but great service, friendly atmosphere and the food was amazing and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for. Yummy. Will definitely be going again.
P. L.
This pub is often used an example of what a pub should be. History, food, the beer, atmosphere but I think you would do it a disservice not to experience it. The cask Manchester Bitter here was so good I had to have 3 pints. The effort and care is the same for a pale ale or bitter as it is for a fashionable IPA and that comment makes me sound 20 years older than I am.
Great beer as you'd expect from Marble Brewery but helpful staff only make you appreciate this pub more. Worth the trip for beer lovers.
S. B.
Great night out not been for a few years all the beers were top notch remember take a credit card when you visit (card only payment)..
R. C. (. W. W.
Best pub in Manchester, good for cider
T. C.
In my top 3 Manchester pubs.
One of the best pub Sunday lunches at a reasonable price, but all of their food is fantastic anyway not just the roast.
Beautiful internal architecture, makes it a great place to drink those equally beautiful beers.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming.
There's not a single negative thing about this pub.
R.
Amazing and beautiful pub! Very nice own brews, a beautiful original interior and knowledgeable and friendly staff. Didn't eat here, but the food looked really good and they even have some vegan options on the menu. Definitely worth the little walk!
S.
Great place for real ales and food. Great stout ale on. Visited 28th May and sadly could only have the table at the front bar for two hours. I recommend.
K. V.
Great Sunday lunch. Staff go the extra mile.
R. M.
Taken a turn for the better. Less quirky food presentation.
L. K.
had a good time with very tasty fast food
S. W.
Cool pub, cold beer and great food
L. F.
Bar staff very imformative wheres the pue and piccalilli?
S. P.
This pub has a lot of charm and character. The staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating, We had a few beers and some food off the bar menu. The food was very tasty, the beer is great, they were very dog friendly too, our dog loved the burger. I would highly recommend it, it is just off the main route but within walking distance of Shudehill tram stop. Will definitely be making more visits here when in town.
G. G.
Beautiful pub interior. Nice if moderately priced pub food. Lovely beer from the Marble brewery. For someone visiting for the day (October 2017), the price of almost all their pints was £4.40, though most of the other real ale pubs had similar prices. Which was mildly painful. Manchester eh.
e.
Came here for Sunday Lunch. I had the beef and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend the roast dinner to anyone, the beef was nice and salty, the gravy was delicious and the trimmings were exactly what you want. The beer and cider selection were also spot on; something for everyone.
J. F.
A must visit for the ale and pub lover. Beautiful interior with lovely tiling round the walls. The famous sloping floor can make you feel that you have had a few beers. Even before you have started. Great choice of beers from the Marble brewery plus guests. Decent food also. This place is all round wonderful.
H. S. P.
Great beer I’ve been coming in here for over 20 years however the beer is now very expensive paid £6.80 for a pint.
D. C.
A proper old fashioned pub. Very friendly staff, fantastic food and great beer. It's rather expensive, so it's better for special occasions.
P.
Forget about "if Carlsberg could make a perfect pub" because Marble Brewery's beat them to it. More real ales than you can drink in a night, food that's cooked to perfection; huge, delicious portions of mouth drooling choices. Yet there's more to it. The place itself is full of gorgeous historical architecture, with tiled walls reach up to high curved ceilings. A time machine would be perfect to watch all those who have enjoyed this place before. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly & efficient. This is a colourful place, full of colourful characters, great tasting beers and food.
h. g.
We went in today myself and a work colleague looking for a bite to eat.
It's the most charming old school bar you could find it's got a lovely mosaic tiled floor and the walls are tiled with names of what you could buy in 1888 or there abouts.
The food was delicious we had the same meal and agreed it was the best fish and chips we ever had, I'm absolutely sure we will dine here again.
J.
Great pub and a great brewery. Fantastic selection of beers, their own and others, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Also do free reasons at the moment where you get to find out a bit more about the beer and brewing process. Combined with a decent food menu and a discount for takeout beers it's essentially the perfect pub.
S. H.
Nice little pub with incredible interior - didn't get to try the food but I guess I have a reason to go back!
J. M.
Lovely Sunday lunch. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Great beer too of course.
J. C.
Authentic pub with its own micro brewery and the odd guest beer. I came here with 3 other adults and two small kids, we were accommodated well and the staff were good with the kids.
Fish and chips were huge portions and it was interesting tasting the pub's beer. I am not a huge fan of alcohol or traditional pubs but this is a friendly place and if you enjoy that sort of thing then its worth the extra couple of minutes it takes to get here from the chain bars.
P. H.
One of the best bars and eating establishment's in Manchester. The setting is old world industrial which adds to the charm .Has range of home brewed beers with a micro brewery on site. The food is superb all home cooked and made with a slight twist. Gets very full though but has brillent atmosphere. Keep up the good work.
L. C.
Lovely afternoon chilling with the puppy’s! Great Beer too 🍺
M. G.
I am amazed at the reviews. This is a PUB and it sells fantastic beer. Maybe I am one of the few beer drinkers to write a review. If you like beer and a proper pub atmosphere, come here. It is the best pub in Manchester. I am a Mancunian who lives in London but this is THE place I return to. Don't pay attention to non-beer drinkers...
C. M.
Great food, beers, staff and atmosphere. What more could you ask for!
K. L.
I went there in the 1970 like going back in time but with great lads and girls staff loads of different beers which they brew themselves its a very trendy place now i will definitely go back
S. R.
Great good but we were placed near the door for the smokers, the foot was never closed, really cold draft coming in on our table , ended putting our costs back on...need to sort that out
L. c.
Great beers, nice staff, awesome cheese boards, good vibe, peaceful garden, lovely place to have a drink!
M. M.
For the last 20 years this has been the home of world-renowned brewery, Marble Brewery. Set in a grand Victorian building with a quaintly sloping floor, this is a delight to the eye and the taste buds. Most Marble beers are on sale here plus guest cask ales from elsewhere. The food is top notch, modern British. Highly recommended.
A. R.
Absolutely gorgeous interior with lots of original features. Excellent draught selection, many of which were delightful. Also a nice bottle area from which we took home a few things I'm still looking forward to! Very friendly barmen and overall a fantastic experience.
G. H.
The Marble Pilsner is amazing. Beautiful interior, friendly staff, dog friendly.
T. H.
Lovely old pub with a lot of character selling as you would imagine, beers brewed by the local Marble brewery. In addition some guest ales are sold. Prices are medium to high depending on the ABV of the selected beer. Not tried the food but people appear to enjoy it but it is not cheap after viewing the menu. Typically it tends to get busy at weekends.
D. K.
Great selection of tasty beers, good food and friendly staff. Definitely a must visit place in Manchester.
R. M.
Quality. What a pub. Superb interior with so much to look at. Top quality beers that do a superb job of showcasing the Marble brewey. Then we have the food.... Amazing., Out the back they have a small dining area with a delicious menu. I highly recommend booking of a weekend as it's quite small. A very nice choice is the pumpkin burger.
D. Z.
Amazing food and beer. Recommended.
M. A.
I went here on the recommendation of a +friend and wasn't disappointed.
I'm not a real ale drinker but I've learnt enough from my friends that I was impressed with what I saw when I visited recently. For my part, I'm a cider drinker and the proper scrumpy on offer at this establishment will definitely see me going back. I may find out what the gins are too.
I love the Victorian tiles and woodwork, and the high ceilings. There's a relaxed beer garden which was empty when we went (largely due to the cooler weather), but one of the bar staff came out and joined us and we had a good chat with him.
I found the main course I had (skewered kebabs) to be a little on the pricey side but for an occasional treat, I don't mind that too much.
The best thing, though, has to be the selection of cottage industry cheeses. I love cheese, and was impressed by the freshness and flavour, and the fact that they were largely from the local area.
I hope to go back again soon.
A. H.
Great pub fare with a solid few beers on tap. I had a macchiato stout and a meat pie with onion mash and mushed peas. Unreasonably delicious—initially found it a little arrogant that the menu to its own pie as a proper one, but with how flaky and golden the crust was and savory the meat and gravy was, it's a wonder they're not proper arrogant
D. F.
What can I say, this is a wonderful pub. The staff are really great and courteous, the beer choice is outstanding, and it has a great vibe. It has the rather unique feature of having a slanted floor. Be sure to also eat here. The food is outstanding.
N. L.
A masterclass public house on the edge of the City, well worth the effort to find around all the building work on Rochdale Rd, to experience the sloping floor and amazing interior. Excellent beer range, warm and cozy and for this month of February advertising half price food, our group really enjoyed the sausage and mash and the chicken curry!
The beer 'Pint' was on fine form.
C. H.
Friendly staff, good beer
B. S.
Been coming to the Marble for about 20 years and have always found the beer great, the staff knowledgeable and pleasant and the food extremely good. Nice to see a good fish dish in the pan fried sea bass, though a bit heavy on the burger choices for me...the chick pea one sounds good, but without the bun. The Chardonnnay was ok as well, though a nice Picpoul would go down well with me.
A great post cinema visit. We'll be back...again.
C. R.
A really great, tiled, interior. Full suite of Marble Brewery beers, which are fantastic.
It's often very lively and packed with people, especially when there's live music. It seems like it's a bit out of the way location wise, as there's nothing much around, but it's only a 5 min stroll from Shudehill.
J. T.
A great pub with quality real ale and great architecture too look at whilst drinking
A. N.
We had lunch here prior to our stay in Manchester. The food was excellent and service to match. Great range of beers and lagers. This was our second visit and will definitely call again. Highly recommend.
S. A.
It was Super league Grand Final day to watch St Helens so first port of call was the Marble Arch. A few pints (including Pint) went down very well. Excellent condition and a good choice. Get infrequently around where I live in London. We all had a main course meal again really tasty. A definite visit when going to Manchester Northern Quarter.
M. F.
Been looking forward to visiting this place for years. Big fan of marble ales so no worries there. Maybe it was just the day we visited, or a hangover from the Petersgate Tap the night before, but the atmosphere wasn't as welcoming as I had hoped. Still a fascinating piece of Victorian architecture with many quirks. I'd certainly try it again.
M. W.
Nice independent pub with a wide selection of independently brewed ales!
Beer garden is great for all kinds of weather
H. B.
Great pub with unique features, superb real ales and great grub.
J. G.
Pub with food. Very friendly staff. Sells its own micro brewery beer. V good selection. Very olde worlde decor. Time warp stuff. Bit isolated but nice and quiet. Weird sloping floor! No loud music.
J. F.
Old, well looked after, what i felt held a pleasant quirky 'London pub' feel. Friendly staff and a generally pleasant 'come in out of the cold' sorta pub! Real good ales available courtesy of Marble Brewery just down the road.
S. B.
It's undeniably a bit out of the way, but well worth making the effort. The interior alone, with its signature sloping floor is reason enough to visit, but throw in a superb beer range (Pint is a particular favourite, though Marble offer anything from a Macchiato porter to an Earl Grey IPA) and superb food and you have Manchester's very best pub on my view.
T. C.
This might be the best pub I've ever visited. Love the Marble beers, and as I was in Manchester for a meeting, I thought I'd go to the source. The beers are even better on tap than in the bottle. Had to do a double-take when I had my first sip of the Dobber - just delicious.
Friendly bar staff, the food made me wish I could stay for more than an hour, and the pub itself is like a relic from the past. In a good way. Great old-fashioned boozer. I just wish I didn't live more than 130 miles away.
C. B.
Good selection of beers, decor is good. Cons would be that the beer tends towards the higher percentages of alcohol and due to this the prices are high
B. S.
Public house full of character. Serving some of the best beer I've tasted in our wonderful City! If you've never been before add it to your must visit list. Not tried the food but it looks wonderful.
G. C.
Lovely little gem nestled away from the hustle and bustle. Luckily for me it's my local! Really good, honest food. Specials change often and there's a mouth watering selection on the menu.
Interior and exterior are stunning. Authentic Victorian pub which has been tastefully restored. Feels like you're stepping back in time.
They have their own microbrewery in the back (apparently the beer is really good), but I have been impressed with the wine list. Love the sauvignon blanc.
And for dessert, check out the cheese menu!
J. S.
This place was recommended by our local tour guide. We loved the atmosphere and the interior architecture because it seemed very authentic. When we were there there were no tourists. Just locals. There is a good assortment of local and international beer.
M. “. O.
Well, I just don't know where to start. The food is great (even though I'm not a big fan od british cousine), both the chéf and the brewer are very creative and seem to love their job. Great service, fantastic beer on tap and rare gems in bottles. No suprise that it's almost always crowded. There's just no place like Marble!
N. W.
Great friendly barstaff, a real plus, smiles, good service, cracking beer recommendation. Love the place.
S. C.
Great selection of beers. The Manchester Bitter is a lovely pint and highly recommended. There's plenty of other stuff to choose from and a style of beer for everyone. Beautiful glazed tile interior.
T. P.
Awesome beer and the food is good. Personally I would visit for a few pints of you are in the area. It's a little out of the way but worth a visit. Also, it's very small so you may struggle for a seat.
P. S.
For any lover of real ales and beautiful Victorian architecture this is a Must visit pub. They brew their own beer and they are all "can't get the glass off your face" good. Love it.
D. P.
Really nice old pub with a good range of real ale. The pub is owned by the marble brewery (local Manchester brewery), and so beers are all marble, and none of the usual mass produced rubbish. Food is nice too.
M. P.
Fantastic Sunday roast, lovely staff.
S. B.
Abso-blumin-lutely gorgeous place! Stunning Victorian tiled interior to sit and admire whilst having a lovely (& reasonable priced ) pint of one of the many ales on offer.
Staff are lovely and friendly, as is the whole atmosphere.
I'll always love the 'Pev', but this is a close second!
A must see if you love a good pub! 😘🖒
C. D.
Great beer, staff great also good food. Great place to spend a day or for getting a quick pint. Not in the centre but worth the short walk up the hill.
J. W.
A gem in Manchester. Had its own Marble Brewery. Decorative mosaic floor and decorative ceiling. The floor slopes at an alarming rate, being six courses of brick lower at the bar end than at the front door ! Lovely staff and great beer choice.
K. M.
It's a great pub with really good real 🍺
M. G.
This is a handsome old pub, and one for real ale lovers (although not exclusively). This is the type of place you say you're going to for 'just one', and you end up losing numerous hours. One of the best pubs in Manchester, no question.
A. J.
It's been said by many already on here, but I'll reiterate - the Marble is a super-cosy pub with some great quality traditional pub grub and a wide selection of beers on tap and bottled. The bartenders are always friendly and happy to help you choose, and food turnaround is pretty quick. The only downside is finding a seat - it can get pretty chocka during peak hours, and there aren't many places to stand!
J. K.
One of the best pubs in Manchester. Many tasty beverages, delicious food and just generally a great relaxed vibe. Never dissapoints. (Oh and try the Jalapeno Pretzels - they go with all the beer :D)
I. R. (. 1. P.
Great food & great selection of beers
G. W.
Revamped Sunday roast! Was delicious. Would've been 5 stars, but the homemade "horseradish" tasted like creme fresh without a hint of horseradish. Also the plates were cold. Aside from that, quality meat quality veg.
W. B.
Iconic pub built by navvies using the materials they had at Victoria station. Organic beers all excellent plus guests the latter a bit too expensive. Own beers ok on price.
H. C.
I've been here a few times and really love this place. It's a very cosy pub which serves great beers, good pub grub & has a delicious cheese selection. One of the best pubs in Manchester. Also dog friendly!
D. S.
Great beer, food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended.
B. C.
The best pint in Manchester? I think so. Try a pint of 'Pint' or, if you're feeling bold, go for the fuller bodied Lagonda. Great music, staff and a floor that slopes; perfect.
B. G.
Fantastic beer emporium. If you haven't been before, you must go and visit. Beautiful interior, great atmosphere, great beers and food. It's what a real pub looks like!
C. M.
Amazing food and service in an iconic pub for those who love craft ales. Marble Beers top notch!
T. T.
Fantastic homely pub with an amazing interior and wide selection of beers
M. B.
Had my first visit here recently as it was the starting point of a real ale pub crawl - what a find! Great beer selection & fantastic character interior. One of the best pubs in Manchester!
P. M.
Great pub with wide range of beer and top food (incl cheeseboard)
M. L.
Excellent real ale pub which also serves tasty food. We visited on a cold, rainy night but the atmosphere inside this cosy pub was very warm and welcoming! Very pleasant and cheerful staff. A real gem of a pub.
J. S.
A great old pub with the best assortment of cheeses I ever had in such a location. Go on.
J. W.
Characterful pub with lots of choice and variation, nice snug booths up the top of the bar.
Only downside, this pretence of pricing some as full pints and others as 2/3rds of a pint at x price, to make it look cheaper or more reasonable. Some people buy according to taste, and some by budget, let them choose accordingly.
Would definitely recommend to CAMRA types, along with anyone looking for a well kept drink and a welcoming cosy atmosphere.
M. H.
Fantastic traditional pub. Brew their own beer and have a great choice of other ales and beers. The Victorian decor is beautiful. Well worth a visit.
R. B.
A small but varied selection of cask ales and decent food can be found at this quirky old school pub.
G. B.
Was in for avery good friend's 60th, hes a regular in the pub, the owner, a lovely Irish lady had a really nice gesture and had a cake made for him, lovely. On the night we were in, everyone who is a regular couldn't believe how busy it was, it was rammed. Anyway it made for a very pleasant evening, I didn't get the lady who own's the pub's name, but thank you, it made my pals birthday.
S. S.
Cosy little pub, noisy on occasion especially when parents are in with young children. Great food but the vegetarian option is poor value for money.
The meals are not very warm for a cold, wet winters day in Manchester.
Feedback given to staff seems to be ignored as there is no response from the kitchen.
k. w.
was here for business last week and was told this place was excellent for food came in for lunch and wasn't disappointed. very friendly staff and food was really nice. highly recommend for anyone on a quick business trip like my self.
kayleigh W.
K. D.
Friendly and relaxed atmosphere with a great selection of beers! Something for everyone. Staff are really friendly and the food is gorgeous. The cheesecake is amazing!
Definitely worth a visit!
J. Å.
Good beers and excellent food
C. B.
Cracking pub and some brilliant beers from Marble Brewery! Would 100% recommend!
C. H.
Amazing pub with a great historic interior. Selection and quality of beers is top notch and the food (particularly the sunday roast) is very good.
K. B.
I love this place, the beer is great although some more sessions ales would be nice. The food is some of the best pub food i've ever had and there is a 2 page cheese menu. 'nuff said
J. B.
One of my favourite Manchester bars. The decor is top class, especially the original tiles. Great selection of food, craft ales and lagers.
M. K.
The Marble Arch pub is named after the famous Marble Brewery in manchester and it is a cosy, snug little pub with the hidden delights of a trendy gastro-pub restaurant round the side.
The best thing about the Marble Arch is the friendly welcoming bar with locals supping on tasty fresh beers of stunning variety and quality.
Or: The wonderful bar menu that has one of the finest cheese selections I have ever seen and fantastic home cooked food.
Or: The great restaurant/gastro pub around the side - or through the bar and down the steps - with its cosy modern furniture and olde-worlde essence.
Or: the modern fusion of gastro/pub favourite menu items.
Or: the welcoming staff:
Or: the take-out draught beer boxes - inspired.
Or: why the hell are you reading this review when you should be eating and supping ales in this pub.
J. J.
The Marble Arch is one of Manchester’s must see pubs. It’s a little out of the way, but within walking distance from Shudehill tram station and Victoria train station.
Trust me the walk is worth it. The grade 2 listed building was built in 1888 and recently celebrated its 125th year! Walking through the door feels like you are literally stepping back in time as the building has retained much of its original décor. The first thing that’s grabs you is the ceramic tiled walls and ceiling, with the names of various tipples tiled into the wall Gin, Run, Ale, Porter etc. Bring your eyes back down you will find a beautiful mosaic floor that leads you towards the bar and past an open fire that creates a warm and welcoming environment on those cold Manchester winter nights. You will need to get there early though to secure a coveted spot in front of the fire!
They have a Google Business Photo view of the interior of the pub which you can view on Google Maps. However, this does not do the place justice, you really have to see it for real to appreciate the beauty.
The Marble brewery was founded in 1997 which was housed at the back of the pub. The beers were so popular the original 4.5 barrel brewing system could not cope with demand and the brewery had to relocate in 2011 to expand. The Marble Arch still serves as the ‘Marble Brewery Tap’ and you will always find a vast array of Marble ales on sale in bottle, cask and keg. The beer selection also has a number of rotating guest breweries and plenty of Belgian bottled beers and European lagers so there will always be something for everyone.
The food here is very good. It’s is not your standard ‘pub grub’ its pub grub with a twist. They have a talented team of chefs who produce an every changing seasonal menu. You can’t beat a good cheese board to go with good beers and The Marble Arch don’t just have a cheese board, they have a dedicated cheese menu that has over 20 cheeses!
My only complaint would be that the staff can be very hit and miss. Marble have three pubs in their local chain and this being the flagship original venue I would expect the staff to have great beer knowledge, especially about marbles own beers. The majority of the time when I have asked questions about a particular beer the staff where unable or couldn't be bothered to answer my questions. Unfortunately more often than not it appears the staff have been employed to simply pull pints and deliver food to tables. There doesn't seem to be a passion about the beers they are serving or the building it’s being served in. The staff are the front line, the face of the business and unfortunately lacking knowledge in a few key areas.
However, overall my experience here has always been an enjoyable one. They produce great beer and great food. They just need to improve staff training and education slightly so the staff can confidently field questions and educate customers on what they are drinking, how it was produced, what the ingredients are, the history of the building etc. Make these small tweaks and this would be a 5 star experience every time.
K. F.
Fantastic food and beer, The Marble Arch is a microbrewery in a traditional Victorian pub with many of the original Victorian features and architecture. It's definitely a place to go and see it if you are visiting Manchester
P. H.
Excellent traditional pub on the outskirts of the Northern Quarter. I particularly love the way the floor slopes towards the bar. Great beers too and some strong IPAs.
C. N.
One of my favourite pubs in Manchester, always enjoy it, superb beer.
R. D.
Beautiful smelling food and nice traditional decor. I'll definitely be ordering more than just beer next time I pay them a visit.
V. G.
Love the beer choices and the little huts in the beer garden are perfect in the rainy weather in Manchester!
M. Q.
I absolutely love this place. The building is so special that it could be enough just to seat there without taking anything. But they have a great selection of beers as well
t. s.
I feel very lucky to have this place as my local. Amazing food, including great selections for vegans, beautiful building, friendly staff and just a lovely atmosphere.
G. C.
Went when opened at lunchtime. Went to sample the real ales. Excellent range to chose from, each was fantastic, and very well priced. The building itself is old, but not tatty, I personally love these old places.
J. D. S.
A pub the way a pub is supposed to be: cozy interior, nice beer, nice food, excellent service. I strongly recommend this place if you want an authentic Mancunian experience (and the best cheese platter of your life).
C. M.
Anyone who loves beer will love this place. Anyone who loves a good cheeseboard will love this place. Anyone who loves both NEEDS TO VISIT THIS PLACE. That is all. Carry on.
N. M.
Best beer in Manchester, true proper pub. Foods always good...
D. M.
Authentic old pub serving amazing ales and excellent food! Staff couldn't have been be more accommodating. Best pint in Manchester
D. E.
A stunning remnant from a bygone era. They have a serious collection of excellent ales too
S. B.
This really is a great pub and the beers are excellent. Always make a beeline for this place when i am in Manchester. Good idea to book a table at the front if you are eating as well.
S.
Brilliant traditional pub. Great beers and food.
T. V.
Wasn't there long enough to form a real impression but liked the ambience and decor and their in house craft beers worth a try even if at all events the price of craft beer is OTT and that applies in general not just to Marble Arch
G. P.
Lovely quirky pub good food good beer lovely outside seating
R. S.
Great bar with traditional decor, good selection of beers and lovely food. Well worth going a little off the beaten track for
K. S.
Fabulous, historical building, cozy, best of British
M. S.
Very pleasant dinner, great beer selection and very friendly service.
A. S.
Great real ale pub, quirky slopping floor, nice food but a bit expensive, ordered Hunters chicken which came with no veg only potatoes, veg extra as a side I found out after. Food I had was fine though, would recommend.
D. B.
Best pub in Manchester for me. Great beers. Good old fashioned setting. Friendly helpful staff. Just wish it was 180 miles further south!
M. O. T. M.
really nice bar for marble brewerys top brews and other drinks. they do food but ive not tried that. loads of character. tiled all over and oldy decor. if you like real ale then this one is a must
J. S.
Excellent beer/IPA's and wonderful food. Great atmosphere and decoration! Certainly going back.
S. D.
Top pub
J. M.
Barman had absolutely no sense of humour which, to be fair, made for a very funny evening
H. P.
Loved sampling the excellent ales in the beer garden. Got some nibbles from the kitchen too. I can think of much worse ways to spend a couple of hours. Worth the short walk out of town.
T. M.
Fantastic real ale selection. We didn't eat here but the food looked and smelt great. Will definitely be going again
G. W.
Great food, friendly staff and excellent beer 🍻
e. H.
AGreat pub. Serves a variety of real ales. Beautiful original interior. Good local food. Outside seating area. Friendly atmosphere. Would recomend.
M. I. Z.
The Best in Manchester! I can't find enough superlatives to describe Marble Beers!
D. S.
Fab selection of craft beer.
Love the original tiling.
My sister noticed the slope in the flooring.
Anyway she got het sea legs and we spent a couple of hours here.
H. K.
As is requisite for an ale fan living in Manchester, I adore Marble beers and I adore the Marble Arch. Home to one of the most impressive historical pub interiors in the city, the Marble Arch is the kind of place you pop into for a quiet beer, and end up stumbling out hours later, having spoken to every single person in there and trying every single beer. IPA fans, watch out for the Earl Gray IPA, its a corker
A. D.
Great beer from the Marble Brewery, the staff are friendly and happy to help you find something to your taste. I can't comment on the food having not tried it (yet) but it looks good
A. W.
Excellent beer in this atmospheric town centre pub
G. A.
Great atmosphere and astounding local beers. No plastic or games machines. Traditional extensively tiled walls and sloping floor. Food also available.
S. C.
Good pub, but a a range of beers on offer was a bit out of my taste and the kitchen was already closed at 8:30 (on Monday)
d. m.
Nice beers and nice selection. They had 9 beers on when I visited. Beers by marble, magic rock, dans and kromacher. Nice old building. Food looked nice but I never had any.
D. R.
Every time I visited the pub enjoyed the different beers and ciders. Friendly and professional staff and great food also.
B. D.
Excellent old style tiled pub serving a range of well kept Marble Arch real ales and serving good, reasonably priced, pub grub. Well worth a visit.
C. C.
Quirky pub with good selection of real ales and other drinks. Food served - changing menu with interesting unique dishes available. Nice atmosphere.
A. G.
Really interesting pub with ornate ceramics at ceiling level and finely polished marble columns. Great range of beers and well furnished beer garden.
G. W.
Great place to go for Sunday lunch!! First time the meal was tasty but not so hot, the second and third time was pipping! The best Sunday lunch in Manchester!
B. K.
Fabulous traditional pub. Well worth finding. Note the unique tiles on the ceiling and upper walls. Always a large selection of cask ales. Only a short walk from Victoria Station.
A. M.
The best pub in Manchester. Lots of cask and keg beer available mostly from their own brewery. Food is truly excellent.
L. M.
All six of us really enjoyed the food there was plenty of it
It was tasty well cooked and we would all recommend going there
G. B.
Great pub with wide selection of excellent ales and serving really good food.
Gets busy but that's because it's popular.
P. D.
Classic pub, great atmosphere, real people and ales. Food varies between very good to super.
T. C.
As traditional a Northern pub as you can get with an amazing menu choice, hearty portions and welcoming, friendly bar staff.
P. F.
Smashing pub on Rochdale rd, close to town and northern quarter. Great food, nice and friendly staff. Great choice of craft beers and lagers.
R. Z.
Great beer garden at the back bit of a hidden gem with a wide variety of crafty beers (I recommend the mango one on a summers day) and an equally good selection of food - pies and burgers were very tasty & big portions too.
C. h.
Here we have a pub jam packed with character and s excellent choice of cider
s. o.
Amazing beer, great food, but a cosy pub. My favourite place in Manchester and has been for a decade
M. W.
Top boozer. Best pub interior in the city for me. Always plenty of Marble beers and guests on tap (keg & cask). Inventive & hearty pub food too. A gem.
T. Y.
Great spot. Good beer and food. 1/2 price food before 6.30 was a bonus. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
P. G.
I’d argue that this is genuinely one of Manchesters greatest pubs. It is without compare in terms of archictectural importance. Simple layout yet astonishing interior. Akin to stepping into an early 20th Century space that is genuinely unchanged. It is easy to imagine the hordes of working men that have called in for after shift pints in days long gone. There is nothing like it & in this age it is easy to agree that the Marble Arch is a genuine Mancunian gem. Top beer and excellent outdoor space out the back. A marvel to be honest.
P. C.
Great beer and food at good prices just get in early if you want a seat it's very popular at weekends abs peak times
B. C.
Great pub in Manchester where they sell their own brewed ales anddome guests. Watch out for the sloping floor! Highly recommended.
P. O.
Stunning traditional pub with brilliant and unique original features. Nice atmosphere, reasonably priced drink.
G. H.
Fantastic beers and food. Lots of character and age in the building. A really good starting or finishing point for a night around the northern quarter
N. B.
Fantastic locally brewed beers, beautiful decor and a great atmosphere. One of the best pubs in the city, without question.
C. B.
The best Sunday roast in Manchester, great beer, great staff and very reasonably priced. Try the haggis scotch egg.
R. W.
Excellent range of well kept beer plus delicious food and great service in a beautiful pub. Couldn't ask for more.
D. S.
Our local, we love it, come here at least 2/3 times a week, amazing food, great drinks, great service. Love
J. W.
Lovely beer garden, fab selection of beers, gorgeous Victorian building and super friendly staff.
Best pub in Manchester, end of!
T. B.
