Reviews of The Oast House Bar & Restaurant
S. O.
Always a nice watering hole especially if you get a sunny day. Live music outside, brilliant place.

Menu looked good, ordering app didn't open on 2 phones then crashed in 3rd phone when 90% of order done. So ordered via waitress. Food was slow to arrive, starters were lovely had vegan pea hummus and onion petals. Then main course arrived, looked good but missed chunky chips with halloumi kebab, so they did get me some which was lucky as they actually came hot unlike the rest of the food which was either cold or lukewarm. Main courses where ok, not sure what the point of the pot of oil was with the 2 hanging kebabs. My friend enjoyed her vegan burger and red cabbage coleslaw. Not worth the money.

Quirky cowboy theme? Nice locations. A range of seating, food looked good but didn't get chance to eat and the drinks were served well. Seemed like a popular Manchester venue and was very busy on a the Thursday lunchtime we went with a range of people from tradesmen, to bankers, to Students and out of town visitors like us.
A. G.
Lovely surprise from my step daughter. Food, drink and service was excellent. Definitely recommend.
M. K.
Really nice place, great food and fair price. Will definitely go back soon
R. S.
Great atmosphere with the added bonus of live music outside. Good selection of interesting beers. The contactless table service, although convenient, can be rather slow at busy times (we waited around 20 mins. for 3 glasses of prosecco), but that was our only gripe.
C. H.
Great location and very cool building, loved the food and drink selection and the staff were so nice and friendly. Great vibe.
J.
Friendly staff, and a decent selection of cold beer.
Very quick service at the bar, even at its busiest.
We were able to nab a table quite quickly, background noise perfectly ok to hold proper conversations without shouting, but maintained a good atmosphere.
S. J. D. O.
Very nice location, love the fire pit in the middle of the outside area. Very rustic feel to the place both indoors and outdoors. Food was very well cooked and very tasty. Great presentation. My only concern was the portion size. For the price of £12 for a singular hanging chicken & garlic skewer, I could have gone to Lidl and collected 4 whole chickens and done a massive roast that would have fed the whole group of us that went there for lunch. Just to put some perspective on it. It would have been a 3 star for that reason but the location and the firepit etched it into a 4 star. Will say the food was tasty though.
I. “.
Awsome.. Great food, really nice atmosphere and really friendly staff.
C. B.
Love the Oast House experience.
Sitting out in the sun or under the covers in the rain, it's always a pleasure. The staff are friendly. They have covid safety measures in place which are simple and effective. The table service via the app is good to avoid contact but drinks took a bit of time but reasonable with the amount of customers.
T. S.
Good outside space and firepits to keep you warm and with a good atmosphete inside and out. Big disappointment for me was a total lack of cask or craft ales / beers. All 100% gas dispensed.
D.
Great place to relax outside with some live music
s. k.
Very nice restaurant,we went 5ish on a Tuesday expecting it to be quiet since you don't have to book a table in advance but turned out to be very busy ,food and service was very good
M. C.
Great bar, brilliant outside with live bands. Really is one of the best places in Manchester for a few drinks.
J. T.
Initially when this place opened a few years ago I wasn't the biggest fan as it was over priced and too crowded. However going midweek was much nicer, it had a relaxing atmosphere and very friendly staff. There was a guy playing the guitar who added greatly to the atmosphere. It also has a great outside space which always draws a crowd in the summer. I wouldn't call this place inexpensive, but it's certainly not the most expensive establishment to get food in this part of town. Good selection of beers on tap too- though mostly lagers.
A. G.
We had an incredible night for New Year’s Eve at The Oast House. The music was perfect in the tipi and the free drink with the wristband was a lovely touch. I’ve certainly not had a New Year’s Eve as good as this one before! The different components of areas and levels made it a cool place to be with friends and meeting new people alike.
D. G.
Great bar, been here a few times massive beer garden with outside bar and kitchen. Beer is a bit pricey though and it gets very very busy which results in long waiting times. Still to try the food but have been told it's good.
J. 1.
Great venue with outdoor seating, eating and entertainment. Live bands on regularly and not too expensive for central Manchester
B. R.
I recently had an issue with one of my bookings at the Oast house and dealt with Marketa to get it rectified. She made the process incredibly easy and resolved the problem for me in almost immediately. The customer service is always 5star at the oast house! I will definitely continue to keep going there for future events.
Many thanks to Marketa and the team at Oast House!!
M. L.
Lovely, nice staff, reasonably priced, live music ... What more you'd ask for?
s. j.
Brilliant atmosphere, well organised, bar staff really attentive .
Live music great
P. M.
Excellent food very tasty and value for money. Very pleasant staff too.
D. S. F. (.
Good location for a drink with friends, nice outdoor spaces.
D. N.
I had a great time , it's very cozy and deserve to spend time .
I love the interior design which is creative.
They keep the place clean and tidy as well. Live music is awesome as you can go outside in terrace and listen to music while you're hanging out with your friends near fire.
A. O.
A lovely pub and snack bar, outside seating when weather good and entertainment sometimes provided.
L. P.
Always a good venue to go to! Nice and chilled with great outdoor space- however I do really miss their old menu that had fondue on, not really a big fan of the new street food menu as I found it quite limited for choices. Poutine chips were good though
S. B.
Great beer selection, friendly staff, welcoming wooden interiors, huge heated beer garden and surrounded by countless other great bars.
Could happily spend the full evening here
C. F.
Love this place...live music on most weekends, great atmosphere.. dress up or dress down...no place better to sit outside in the sunshine 😎
C. B.
Great food, great atmosphere, great outdoor space. Only criticism is the tumbler glasses are far too small, you pay for a gin and tonic and only get half a glass. Hanging skewers however are a winner.
A. M.
Loved it such nice food and drinks. Good vegan choice and actually quite inexpensive. All staff seem hard working and really professional. Shout out to bartender Conor, definitely recommend going here if in Manchester.
s. g.
Amazing!! They now have little sheds you can book which are heated and have lights and speakers In x
K. T.
Good beer, good food & if your lucky good live music. Big old place with lots of room there's also plenty of outdoor seating with a fire pit & heaters for when it's chilly.
P. R.
Used to be better. Good location and lots of outdoor seating, but they desperately need more toilets and a bigger bar.
L. W.
A fantastic bar. A big seating area outside and a few tables inside too. Not near any roads, which makes it far better. Food is also served here.
C. S.
Amazing bar, really cool decorations, and the food was delicious! I can't wait for my next trip back to Manchester, this will be the first place I grab as pint for sure!
K.
Thoroughly enjoyed a midweek visit here. Live music and a great atmosphere but not too busy. Only neg was that the wraps we got were small with very little filling which was disappointing for the price, but otherwise a great place!
M. R.
This place was amazing! The place was so busy yet we were served our meals without any delay. Our server was really attentive considering how busy he was 😊 drink choices were vast but the highlight if our night was sitting outside watching the live entertainment....wow...wow..wow. this place is a gem and we'll definitely be back
J. H.
Great atmosphere outside in the sun. Reasonable prices.
Looking forward to going back again on an evening when some music is on the stage
G. J.
Reasonably priced drinks for Manchester city centre. Staff were pleasant and the service was quick Was lovely in the Tents having a drink they had put up and decorated, when the Christmas Market was on.
G. f.
Very busy Easter Sunday, but the bar staff were brilliant and very polite and efficient.
F. A.
Great setting. Great food. Awesome beer. Friendly staff. All round great time!
K. M.
Best chicken kebab I ever had. Very lovely staff. Live music and the atmosphere is wonderful. The Sri k selection is great. I recommend the beer. Thanks to the chef Petr for the lovely food, one of the best. 👍👍
E. O. C.
Went here Friday 17th and it was a lot quieter than it used to be, we got seats easily on the comfortable cushions on the steps near the entrance we had a couple of pints here and enjoyed the atmosphere. The only thing they could have done better was collect more glasses as they were hidden behind the cushions on the steps and no one, including me moves them. Otherwise great place for a drink.
R. Z.
Great food and beer selection. Friendly and enthusiastic staff.
M. R.
Quirky 😍😍
If you are a fan of places which are very lively yet not where you end up getting headaches due to them being insanely over crowded and loud, this is the place for you.. beautiful interiors and decent crowd to sit and have few drinks and good food and spend a chatty night with friends.
T. K. -. N.
Chilled environment. I loved the set up. Music is a bit all over the place. Very clean facilities
A. T.
Great Bar staff, door men are friendly. Drinks just keep flowing with ease
J. H.
Food was good, menu very small and couldnt order from the festive menu unless you pre-book and couldnt pre-book unless you were party of 5 and above.
J. L.
Great outdoor space with live music and plenty of spots to grab a beer in the outside area. Spinningfields is probably one of the best parts of the city to spend a night with many restaurants and bars to visit for a more up market night out but Oast House is one of the more college out places to hang out. Dropped a star because the crowd can be a bit rough sometimes.
J. S.
Lovely food, staff, decor and ambience. Attended a wreath making event and can highly recommend.
L. H.
Christmas tippee is really festive, they've changed it this year so it's less cosy and lacking atmosphere (compared to previous years with two tippees). Expect to queue deep at the bar for service but the service is speedy with a smile at least!
V. W.
This venue is always great outside when the sun shines, the staff are a bit hit and miss though. The doorman was rude and came across as if he couldn't care less and would rather be anywhere else. Plus the ordering system wasn't working well and some of the staff obviously used to app orders struggled to get things right. Positively though this was rectified quickly and with good humour
L. L.
Really liked this place. Decent food and a private little lodge for a cosy and intimate atmosphere.
B. L.
Not a bad pub. Gets quite busy, but Good atmosphere. The poutine is very good and worth coming back for.
C. B.
Best place in Manc for live music and outside drinking.
E. A.
Great atmosphere and lovely service. Do be prepared to stand however at busy hours.
j. w.
great pub brilliant atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating
M.
Big plus is the large outdoor space in a traffic free zone. Really popular when the sun shines. Used to be great for real ale on draught but bottled only on recent visit. No ides if it will return. Food usually very good. Prices reflect the location.
G. B.
Very Good! Apparently the food was a little slow at coming out so (I think) the manager came over and apologised and offered us some complimentary drinks along with some insightful info regarding our choices. Impressed!
J. W.
Beautiful setting in the centre of Manchester. Excellent style street food. Quick and friendly service. Highly recommend
C. M.
Excellent food, I had a pork belly hanging kebab which was lush and a cookie dough style sweet. Great service, just felt a bit cool at times.
R. I.
Always a great atmosphere here, especially when the live band are on and the weather is nice and dry. The inside bar is always a little bit crowded but thats just the way it is. Outside is great and plenty of seating/standing areas.
D. M.
Came here Sunday afternoon. Had to queue for a table due it being so busy but all the staff were lovely and the queue went down quickly. Our food order got mixed up with another table but the restaurant was fab at fixing the problem and made sure we got our food asap. We also got complimentary drinks. I’ve been here many times and usually it’s perfect but even today with a slight problem, they sorted it straight away. Food and drinks were delicious! Definitely recommend :)
M. S.
It's ok, nothing to be crazy about, too loud, too busy and the food unfortunately arrived cold
K. W.
Plenty of space for seating even on a busy Christmas party weekend. Always been one of my favourite places in Manchester city centre
G. W.
Amazing food..quirky place..Will definitely return
V. “. E.
Very popular bar in Manchester. Drinks are reasonably priced for being in the centre of Manchester and there is lots of choice. The food looks good but I didn't try any. There is loads of outside seating available and big umbrellas to shield from the sun and the rain.
J. C.
Great place especially in the winter when they have the teepee up quite unique, good atmosphere and selection of drinks would definitely recommend
M. S.
Really nice food warm environment and really polite staff really nice place 🙂🙂🙂
M. G.
Great relaxed place to have some drinks and listen to live music! Perfect terrace for a sunny day.
A. H.
Perfect place to just be yourself and enjoy the moment. Staff member Cameron was super helpful and very kind. We have taken our dogs twice and they always ask if we need dog bowls etc. Definitely need cleaners on a Friday and Saturday night for toilets but can’t fault anything else! Even the security are friendly
J. A.
Great terrace with live music. Good drinks and nibbles.
B.
Love it here, day out night, rain or shine, always a good time
E. O.
I went out with my mum here for her first time visiting after lockdown and after my dad passing during the pandemic so obviously we were looking for somewhere to lift our moods.
The food here is really good. I had seabass with gnocchi and my mum and boyfriend both had the lamb and mint pie. The staff are friendly. They have a good range of cocktails - I'm a fan of the watermelon daiquiri. It can get quite busy outside so it's worth booking a table ahead if you're getting food.
M. H.
Lunchtime visit, not too crowded. Pre-booked, had to " sign in" via QR code for track and trace. Table service only, great selection of food/beer at reasonable prices for city centre. Hanging kebabs were a great success, burgers can be specced out to suit. All agreed we would be going back.
G. C.
Best brunch 2020... vibrant and fun.... service brilliant.... staff great... especially. Sadb was great with me and Louise and kept the fun flowing and great service
G. E.
Popped in here for our Xmas party. Food amazing, staff where fantastic and atmosphere was great. Highly recommended.
H. J.
Great vibe. Amazing place. Got a free Guinness.
M. W.
Lively bar with large outdoor seating area with fires and a teepee in winter fresh tank budvar lager well worth the visit
A. B.
wonderful Kebabas, lovely and cosy inside and a great big outside area where you can smell all the wonderful meat cooking.
K. B.
Always love coming here. Food is great, drinks too! Really nice staff and really chilled atmosphere.
S. C.
Stopped into try their budvar. Great few pints with good live music. Staff were amazing and really made us feel welcome.
M. “. C.
Only downside was having to wait for so long to get in. And, the drinks are not quite London prices, but they are expensive.
Positives are a massive open air seating area with live music.
A. F.
Great pub, great food and live singer
A.
Smashed double cheese burger is well nice. Get on it!
B. R.
good selection of ales and beers. not a personal fan but have live music on weekends would be great as has open space but always cold in manchester!
S. B.
Brilliant time as always, love the hanging baskets
B. H.
Always great for day drinks and weekend events
D. D.
Great atmosphere, live music, good food.
Terrible toilets.
A. L.
Lovely atmosphere with live music! 😁
A. A.
Decent pub. We got there when it was nearly time to close.
E. W.
Great menu and great beer let down by the crutch of technology.
I get the covid reasons why ordering through an app is preferable, but there's a whiff of corporate virtue signalling about the whole affair.
We had two rounds of drinks in 90 minutes due to the cumbersome app ordering process.
When we finally got a living person to take our order the service was excellent.
You would sell more stuff if you had more staff.
Bin the phone ordering it ruins the experience. People don't want to be flicking through their phone whilst trying to hold a conversion.
L. L.
Stopped here for a drink and lunch on the recommendation of my brother-in-law and was not disappointed. A busy but friendly atmosphere, with some indoor seating but mostly outdoors. The weather was glorious and we were entertained by a live singer who played the piano and guitar, covering a variety of artists. All tables were occupied but if you are prepared to share with people you don't know they are happy to let you take a seat. We ordered our food at the bar and it arrived at our table quickly and was delicious. Will definitely be back.
h. b.
What a fantastic venue. The atmosphere was amazing, the staff friendly and efficient. Food was fab and the live music was brilliant. Loved every minute
L. A.
Good selection of craft beers. Friendly staff and nice outdoor seating area. Very popular place.
J.
Had a great time at the Oast House this evening. I liked the outdoor seating and live bands, however it was the service that stood out with a shoutout to Emily for being so welcoming. Will go again
A. E.
Amazing staff, amazing experience, amazing food! Couldn't have asked for a better evening out.
P. S.
Nice place and great seating area outside with heaters and a fire pit.
G. B.
Live music outside on a Friday.
E. G.
We went here on Saturday and it was one of the few places where we didn't have to book a table. Busy but great atmosphere and large outdoor space.
R. M.
Amazing chicken kebab and brownie. Even better sat in a teepee!
G. B.
Great location for a drink. Sat outside around a fire pit and met great locals. Went in for one drink, ended up staying 6 hours. The extreme hangover the next morning was worth it.
D. J.
Had Sunday roast, loved it and excellent service.
M. S.
Great beer, brilliant atmosphere. Outside entertainment and friendly staff all set in a fantastic setting.
L. C.
Brilliant place, app system was down due to shortage of staff but they made it all run smoothly
A. K.
Asbsolutely lovely place ,the old house plus the yard flight away the vibe, well done! The service was super fast and helpful ,the drinks was good! The only thing that wasn’t pleasant, was the food! The hot kebab it was just fat kebab 0 meat and 100% fat that it can send you straight to the hospital for operation by-bus, the desert good try! Check it guys thank you ✌️
M. C.
Drinks on Monday after work, nice place and good seating. The service was quite slow considering it was quiet there. Other than that no complaints 👌
S. M.
Great place for outdoor drinks and dining. The food is good but nothing out of the ordinary, and the fact that you should order your drinks from an outside bar is a bit inconvenient (as there are almost always queues), but the seating is good and the location convenient.
T. T.
Loved watching football on the massive screen outside. Good food and good view. Remember to grab a jacket as it might get nippy if you're outdoors.
M. J.
Great venue. Rustic interior and a fantastic outdoor area. Live music and football games when relevant. Pay a visit!
R. L.
Great pub with a huge outdoor seating area and if you're lucky as we were yesterday live music.
D. G.
Great place for Burgers & Beers!
C. M.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff! I have been here a few times and the staff have been very nice and helpful each time.
E. T.
Great little place, good atmosphere, food and drinks.
K. T.
Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Offers on food and a different offer on drinks all through January. We had the fondue, which was so good! They don't do bookings for small groups/couples and it can get busy sometimes.
A. S.
Recently renovated, particularly the outside seating area. Great for groups, especially in the sun. Live music wasn't bad, but the drinks/food prices generally on the pricey side (about £4 for chips...). But overall a great place to chill with a drink
H. S.
Live music and great atmosphere.
D. I.
Great location, atmosphere and very professional staff.
They are very professional with current COVID -19 situation. Security staff taking their responsibilities very seriously, well done guys. Special thanks to big fella Russian security guy, nice one lad 👌🏻
Q. P.
Really nice place, friendly staff, good choice of beers and food.
A. P.
The perfect place for drinks & food on a sunny day.
The service was efficient and staff were friendly.
We chose a selection of starters to nibble on which were lovely.
A. N.
Lively bar with great outdoor space. Plenty of outdoor seating. Didn't order food but could see plenty being served all looked good. Drinks quite expensive but you are in the centre of Manchester so its expected. Good place to sit enjoy a drink and watch the world go by. Definitely worth a visit.
G. R.
Nice place. Always good to go in the winter after work. Very nice staff and good young professional crowd. Only downside is that it gets extremely busy and you might have to wait a while for a drink but other than that it has no faults. Definitely recommend!
K. D.
Lovely place to drink, great atmosphere and well priced. Only downside is that it gets so so busy especially on a Saturday and often hard to find somewhere to sit. Although it's a lovely bar in middle of Manchester so can't really blame them for being busy.
M. A.
Great place to chill and relax with live music and wonderful customer service
K. G.
Fantastic selection of beers from around the globe. There is guaranteed to be something you like here. There are some excellent wheat beers from Germany and Belgium and some interesting beers from places such as Hawaii. In the summer time the outdoor seating is fantastic and they also frequently have musical entertainment outside on a stage in the summer months. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
I. J.
Insanely busy on a saturday evening but we had a table booked and the food service was really good. We also ordered (lots) of drinks from the waitress (who was lovely) to avoid standing 6 deep at the bar. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. There was also a live band buried somewhere in the sea of people.
Y. K.
Really nice place for a night out or just for a relaxing drink.
Very comfortable indoor and outdoor and great customer service too.
Even with Covid-19, everything is running as smoothly and as comfortably as ever.
L. S.
Great little place. I love the decor and the outdoor area is great if we’re lucky enough to have a bit of Manchester sunshine. Inside there’s often live music but there isn’t much seating so if it’s busy you might not be able to find a place in the warmth. Summer is what this place is built for, but it might be heaving at that time...
I. K.
Nice place to enjoy lunch with large outdoor area & seating most of which is covered with canopies.
Bar itself on edge of Spinningfields just in front of Crown Courts. Main bar if you'd rather sit inside looks like a large cabin type structure. Outside is probably preferable currently due to covid situation & this bar has well spaced out tables.
I had a very nice lunch here using current discount scheme. Food very good quality, staff very pleasant & friendly. Was directed to outside bar which didn't seem to have too many drinks choices. Overall very nice lunch & will revist
C. P.
Love it and love the teepees, so so christmassy and warm. Love the outdoor area too, cannot wait for summer !!!
D. L.
The female singer on Thursday night is AMAZING. Great outdoor venue but oh my that vocal was sweet!
Wish I could remember the name of the two piece! If you are that lady double your prices now! You're awesome!
T. W.
What a fabulous night
We were a party of 12.
Laura, our waitress for the evening was amazing. Laura was friendly, polite and efficient wasn't the word. Brilliant
Nothing was to much trouble for her.
I was disappointed with the menu
Strange limited choice, the food wasn't particularly good.
There was a duo singing. Wow, the lead singer was fantastic. The choice of music was fantastic. Such a good mix, all songs we sang along to and danced to.
Thank you Oust House
C. H.
Food really nice good atmosphere
I. R.
Great location, very fancy, lovely outside drinking space, good inside too. Food excellent..
A. F.
Fab atmosphere. Good outdoor space even in the rain
L. O.
Sat outside under cover and heat lamps. Felt quite safe in hands of friendly and professional masked up staff. Breakfast was great and the Aperol Spritz a nice dessert!
N. G.
Food was great. We all had variations of the hanging kebabs, which are definitely worth a try. Visited on a Tuesday and they had a fantastic singer/guitarist too. Wish I knew his name to give him a 5 star review too.
M. C.
Went for Christmas drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere, their diverse drinks and the outside area to cool down. Our group had a great time with this being a regular return visit each year for the group. It felt very seasonal here and everyone seemed to be having fun around us too.
A. K.
Nice atmosphere.
There was also some love music playing on the outdoor stage, and a very festival feel to it. Struggle to get a seat on a Saturday.
There's an indoor and an outdoor bar, the outdoor one has a much smaller queue.
They're currently renovating the outdoor area, so lots of construction materials, uneven floor, and bits fenced off. I'd probably increase the rating if going back and this was finished / cleared away.
C. S.
Great bar , always busy , loads of room outside , bit restricted inside but worth a visit
C. W.
Excellent service (even when trying to sell me a 9% ale that would have put me on the floor).
Also told us about Austism friendly breakfast. Came to give us all the details and emailed when they said they would with the information.
Great range of beers and ales and guns.
Didn't eat but saw people eating and all looked good.
J.
Great place to mingle, its has been renovated lots recently. Now it's the go to place for an all day, or somewhere to star your night or go after a long day at work. The food is amazing at lunch and very affordable. The kebabs are delicious. Services is so so
D. L. G.
Amazing food. Hanging kebab was to die for.
Y. M.
During the day and early evening, a great place for a cocktail or two, or a pint. Good selection of bar snacks and other amenities. Dinner service very appealing, however can get rather busy. Those concerned regarding dress code, smart casual and conducive to that of a "Canary Wharf" style. Can be rather expensive at times however, not one to frequent if on a budget
Y. M.
A wonderful happening place - particularly when the weather is good.
C. B.
We were waiting outside for 15 mins before being shown to our table, and had to rush our food down before 10pm because it took so long. It seems they overbooked or dont give people enough time to sit and eat with their 1.5hr bookings. Food was nice though, and pleasant staff, just unorganised!
J. M.
Staff where very helpful and the food was very good
E. H.
My "go to" place. Love the outside area, fantastic vibe, the staff are great. The Madri is even better. Highly recommend. 10/10
E. O.
Lovely place to have a drink outside. Var was busy but expected on a sunny Saturday.
J. I.
Went on a Sunday afternoon with the wife. It wss busy, but welcoming. A pianist was playing and very good he was too. Very expensive for drinks, but that's what you expect in that area. Despite the cost, we stayed on for a couple more because of the warm atmosphere.
R. W.
Great bar with indoor and outdoor areas. Shame about the toilets
C. V. S.
Best cheese fondue I've ever had in England! Well served and well garnished. Love the ambience and is good to see some live music. The outside are is lively too. It can be hard to get a table due to its popularity but its worth a try! Definitely recommend :)
S. P.
Love this place! It's fantastic for a quick but delicious bite to eat. I don't think we've ever waited for more than 10 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering! But saying that, the food is always excellent, as is the service. Really great for a quick bite after work or before a show

Four of us visited the oast house Saturday lunchtime for food before going to the opera house. Not a lot of seating inside but we got a table no problem as we got there just after opening time at 12.If there are a lot of you I noticed you could reserve a table in advance. We ordered our food and didn’t have to wait long. We had chicken hanging kebabs with seasoned chips and chicken burger with seasoned chips. It was all lovely! My only suggestion would be to serve the food on heated plates to keep the food hotter for longer. The service from all the staff was very good. They were all friendly and helpful. We also had a lovely peach and Prosecco cocktail for four, which was lovely. We would definitely go again! I should imagine on a summers day it would be great too as there is lots of outside seating available.

Fabulous Christmas tipi. Serving thee best mulled wine in Manchester
A. N.
Really nice city centre pub, with a huge beer garden. It would be nice to see more craft beer on tap though.
V. O.
We were going from pubs to pubs during the Christmas market season and stumbled upon this one, they had live music and the place was packed! That didn't stop the service to be great and quick! Would definitely recommend! It's got a cool look about it too!
K.
Wicked place to go in summer. Massive beer garden area and tunes an live music. Chill out areas and loads of benches
s. o.
The live music was excellent, however a bit over priced for me ... a medium red wine and a pint £12
S. T.
Love The Oast House in all seasons, great for chilling out with a beer in summer and nice and cosy in winter! We've not tried the food yet but the drinks choice's are great! Some real good ales, craft beers and cocktails.
M. W.
Food pretty good. Not a great choice of beer and limited array of patio heaters. Ok when its sunny. Not great when its cold
S. M.
A very good night out and friendly people
T. S.
The place is gorgeous inside. Unfortunately the outdoor music was dire. The PA was crackly and the performer wasn't great. They couldn't handle mojitos either. Two bad batches in a row. Wouldn't recommend for cocktails but decent when it's sunny for a pint or two
M. B.
Very busy but great atmosphere and live music was fabulous. Highly recommend
L. S.
Went with a friend for Sunday Roast. Waited 10 minutes at the bar to order food, only one person serving. Chicken wings were nice but not salt n pepper chicken, they were served with cold side plates, roast dinner was luke warm, but tasted ok. Sweet was served when we were still eating our meal. To be fair, they took it away and served it after we'd eaten our meal. Nobody asked whether we'd enjoyed any of it.
G. K.
Good food and great with outdoor garden. When busy (most Saturdays and Sundays) you might have to wait at the bar for more than 15min as there is randomness in how they serve. The hanging chicken was very tasty thought so that makes this a four instead of three star review.
L. M.
Pinotage was great and the love lane brewery pale ale is one to try x
N. G.
Brilliant place. The outside area is great. Service is still mental though and feels so slow. There were lots of staff on the inside bar, but only one on the outside bar, so the queue was mad. Everyone was pushing lots on the inside bar. They have a great selection of drinks and food.
J. C.
Visited while strolling around Manchester, good food atmosphere and service.
E. R.
A delightful old original oast house building with original features. Nice little courtyard with a stage for small events. Not sure about the choice of bright orange as their signature colour or their use of scooter parts for seats - bit gimmicky for me! But a decent place and a lovely fresh orange! X
K. S.
Great looking place, and super busy even in the day. The food came out quick too, and was delicious. My only issue was the super super small portions. £12 for a large spoon of rice and chicken.. I would go back again, but they definitely need to increase portion size.
I. H.
A great bar with a great choice of drinks
S. M.
Great atmosphere and food. Highly recommend if you're looking for a chill place with a medieval feel
A. C.
Great bar , nice outdoor area , can't really go wrong
D. M.
Brilliant location. Love the atmosphere inside and out. Live music really adds to the feel. Love it.
A. B.
Decent food, polite service. Limited lager range. Quick lunchtime service.
S. P.
Been here a few times and I love it here. The drink prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is always great especially with the live music, makes everything so much livelier! Great place to go to, especially in the summer when the sun’s out!
D. C.
Lovely open space with good solid outdoor furniture. Good selection of beer and food also. Nice place.
m. h.
Gorgeous food, friendly staff.
J. M. M.
Great amount of outdoor space, good beers but queueing system is awful for bar as is size of ladies loos considering the capacity when you include outdoor space. Great when you have a beer but v stressful getting to that point. Please tip the staff when it's hammered busy it looks like a seriously painful bar job
a. w.
Great to go in Summer and sit outside
B.
Cute little venue that wouldn't be out of place in the Swiss alps.
Not a huge selection on the menu but what we had, one of the burgers and a hanging kebab which I think is their signature dish, were both cooked to perfection, even the side dish of chips coated with something special were scrummy.
Great outside space, perfect for the summer months. Shame it couldn't be bigger inside but would spoil the atmosphere if was.
All staff very friendly.
Id vote an average score on the romantic rating simply because most of the tables are bench style and we ended up sharing the table with another couple, which didn't bother us but some may find that off putting and awkward.
Overall I recommend this restaurant to everyone taking a trip into the city, even if just for a cocktail.
R. N.
It felt a bit contrived, but the place was lively and there were some interesting beer choices. The food was OK nothing too special and there were plenty of staff. When there are plenty of old pubs in Manchester a specially built new-build-old pub seems a bit unnecessary. My friend note it was a bit like building a brick mill in the middle of the Kent countryside. We left when the singing guitarist started and they turned the PA up. Perhaps it's No Place for Old Men.
B. M.
It's great location and outside area is both it's greatest asset and biggest liability. In good weather or during one of it's frequent events hundreds will flock through the doors. I would normally avoid at all costs - last time I was there I was waiting for 35 minutes to get a drink. to be fair they do what they can and I have seen bottle bars there but there are better places to have a drink in the sun.
C. P.
So this German/ Austrian hut is wonderful. I must admit, I absolutely love it. It is such a smash to the modern architecture around it great. For a couple of seconds after having drunk a lot beer, you can feel like you are in the Alps.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly and I encourage you to try one of the hanging kebabs. You will not be disappointed.
G. B.
A nice place, hanging kebabs seem popular. Had better drinks in the past
I. C.
Lovely place, good food 😋
L. H.
Really enjoyable afternoon in the sun. Spacious and organised. Staff were pleasant. Food was tasty and reasonably priced.
A. M.
Really nice place for socialising.
Great atmosphere and music.
Highly recommended..
G. W.
Default meeting place for catching up with friends in Manchester. They did a lot of work on the outside so is even better when the good weather returns.
Nice selection of beer, food at not so high prices and friendly staff. Recommended!
A. L.
Very, very popular with the masses and you'll find this place busy most evenings! It helps that they serve nice food, have a big sheltered (from rain but not wind!) outdoor space, live music on certain days and a good selection of drinks! What I love most about it is that they organise mini music festivals here which is always great to up the already excellent ambiance!
M. P.
Great until the music came on which spoiled the atmosphere meaning everyone had to shout to be heard (even though it was Alice Cooper, who's music I like)
B. P.
Great atmosphere good beer live bands food what more would you need
M. F.
Very busy pub, with large covered outside area. A perfect meeting place before rushing off to some wild night out. Outside area is brilliant in the summer for enjoying the long summer evenings, just a bit cool in the winter.
A good selection of beers, although the bars in the outside areas are a little more limited.
Lively, busy, fun place.
I. B.
Really great spot to spend an afternoon if its sunny and you can get a table outside. The ales were very decent and the staff friendly enough.
It was early Saturday afternoon when I has last there and the outside tables were all mostly taken. Its worth noting that's it is a very popular place, so grabbing a 'quick drink' can be a little difficult (I'll admit to walking out on several occasions prior to this visit as it was impossible to get served).
Didn't eat, but the hanging kebabs did look really good and the wonderful smell of the bbq'ing meat means that even if you didn't intend on eating you will certainly be tempted to!
A.
Heaving place to go , queues for bars and toilets and seats but a great friendly party atmosphere
T. H.
Amazing yoga event on the Tee Pees 🥰🧘🏻♀️
L. S.
Really love having this place on my doorstep, it's a real social hub of live music, loads of (cool) people and tasty food. Not being a massive ale drinker myself, it would probably get another star if I was as it has a wide variety of them, or so I'm led to believe. Enjoyed many a hanging kebab here with friends. Will definitely be returning, time and time again. Business is booming there, always absolutely packed and in Winter they have the marquee and in summer, the outside stage.
N. R.
Cosy in winter. Great to sit outside in summer. Food is good especially hanging kebabs. Love music we had piano player who was brilliant and would take requests.
R. C.
Beautiful place - loved the outside area and the live music was lovely. Beer a little bit overpriced - just a very modern, "trendy" craft beer kind of place which isn't usually my kind of thing but a fabulous bar if that's yours!
O. S.
The security team don’t get enough credit, these guys made the stag do special and were very Accommodating from entry…had such a great experience 🙌🏿
C. K.
If you go there during lunch hours, you will notice that most of the people have the hanging chicken kebab. That is because it is AMAZING and you should try it, it is definitely recommended. It happened to go there on a Saturday night during summer and there was a live band playing which was very enjoyable. If you happen to visit during Christmas, stop by the tent they set up, where you can enjoy a hot drink near the fire! Oast house has never let me down.
C. J.
Went there to watch England last night and had a brilliant time, staff were friendly and so were the security, been to a few places where the security go a bit ott but not last night, I was very impressed
d. t.
Great atmosphere, really enjoyable night
D. B.
Good food. Good staff. Great variety of beers and cocktails. Fantastic venue and location with plenty of outside seating and live music. Great place for anyone young or old. Family friendly.
P. B.
Such a trendy bar, you could absolutely be sitting in Germany 🇩🇪 instead of Manchester.
Warm and cosy, outdoor area must be awesome in the summer.
Highly recommended to all, well worth going out of your way for a visit.
Dog friendly too 🐕
L. L.
Great atmosphere! The large outdoor seating area was great for a summers night. They had some good love music. The craft beer selection was large but very expensive.
G. W.
Nice place, very quirky quite expensive though. Occasionally do world record tastings
A. B.
Great place! I didn’t like the fact that cocktails goes out from a machine and not been made by the bartender
R. F.
Nice bar in Spinningfields!! Has live music very often which is really good
K. W.
Never been before this afternoon when meeting a friend. Really enjoyed it. Good cocktail, nice food. The outside entertainment was good.
G. M.
A little expensive especially considering the Prawn Skewer only had 3 prawns on it, I would like to see a little more value for money; however, the food was tasty and the environment is good. I love the idea of a TeePee with all the hanging fairy lights inside! Theirs always people there but it’s never too busy. Staff are polite and service was good.
C. P.
Love the food, live music and the outdoor sitting in the summer.
M. H.
I always enjoy frequenting the oast house. The only problem is that it can get too overcrowded in the inside area. The bar staff though are always really friendly and chatty! It's always got a good ambience!
J. H.
We called in after dinner in Spinningfields one Friday night. We were drawn in by the sound of live music. The atmosphere was fun and friendly. We sat with some other people on this long table to drink and enjoy the music. We both really enjoyed the bar and would highly recommend a visit when in Spinningfields.
A. W.
Heaving on a Saturday night when the Xmas Market had started. Good singer with guitar outside in the cordoned off area and good range of drinks but food served in an area thronging with drinkers. So, if you don't mind randoms perching on the end of your bench and your dining table being used as a drop off for everyone else's finished glasses, this is the place for you. Shame really as the food was actually very good. Just a rubbish environment to eat in.
M.
The pub is great, lots of awesome beers. If you're lucky enough on a sunny day you can fit on to the terrace! I haven't had the mains here, only desserts, which are lovely. I took my mum after shopping one afternoon and had a pot of tea and shared sticky toffee pudding and chocolate cake. Both delicious! You wouldn't expect to go to a pub for these things, but they did them so well.
L. P.
One of the best kebab and dining experiences I've ever had. In the summer, a temporary stage is erected for outside entertainment, whilst in the Winter, a full-out winter igloo tent is made with a fireplace and bar inside. It's amazing. I can't speak highly enough of the hanging kebabs and fries. Definitely a place to experience!
D. P.
Lovely place for after work drinks. Bar staff is very friendly and when they have time they do try to make sure that customers are treated well. It does get very busy at bar during the weekends and events.
J. W.
One glass of wine and a double brandy £15-00 to dear for us me and wife, we are pensioners so will not go again, nice place though.
A. “. G. S.
Love music was greeeeaaaaaatttt, two beautiful young ladies, very, VERY talented doing covers until midnight! If the DJ would keep better consistency with his music genre, girls would be shaking all night long!
C. L.
Perfectly prepared for a covid careful sunny afternoon. Service pretty slow but I think we arrived just as the staff were having their briefing. I will definitely return
J.
We had an average experience, drinks only.
Chipped wine glass. Draught beer, tasting decidedly average. Both replaced without question.
Four stars for the friendly staff who are clearly customer focussed and attentive.
A.
Good selections of beers, ales and wines. Good service from the staff. Cool tent outside and good shelter seating. Even when it's raining in sunny Manchester.
Go there , have a drink, see what you think :)
J. T.
Great pub and beer garden. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. There is a big beer garden area which has a stage and performances on every night. This would be a cracking place to go on a sunny day
C. H.
I have never eaten here but been here a number of times for a drink.
In the summer its a nice place to go after work and in the winter they have an outdoor tent which is pretty unique.
Can't comment on the food but its a pretty good place to go for a drink!
A. W.
Great food (handing kebabs!) and good drinks. Always a great atmosphere, especially at Christmas time with the giant tipi! Love the outdoor kitchen area and the live music there through the summer. Can't fault it!
K. L.
Staff were great. Food was really good. Atmosphere was relaxing
G. P.
Staff were fantastic - very accommodating. Great surroundings and atmosphere.
S. L.
Absolutely gorgeous pub/bar with live music on every night and an extensive selection of drinks.
If I had any complaints it would be that the drinks are a little pricey and its always really busy, but both of those things aren't too much of a problem.
C. M.
Every time I go I have the hanging chicken kebabs with a bowl of chips and I'm never disappointed. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is always lovely. Sometimes have bands playing outside so any visit is an enjoyable one.
M. K.
The oat house seems like a simple name but it is certainly not a simple place. Beautiful building and the chips were delicious! With a gluten free person, a vegan and 3 men with a good appetite, we would seem like a hard crew to satisfy. But really, full satisfaction. Recomending in particulaire: hummus and chips!
D. D.
The best thing about the Oast House is the outdoor seating area and the occasional live entertainment they put on. A great summer location, even if it rains a little due to the outside cover. However be expected to wait a little while at the bar which is generally quite packed.
O. F.
The Oast House looks like it was built as part of a Christmas markets fair, and they forgot to take it down.
When it's sunny in Manchester, it's the place to go. Great selection of beers, half-decent food and a huge outside seating area. For a city centre the prices are what you'd expect.
One word of warning though - the bar is not big enough for the amount of tables they have. Prepare to be at a bar at least 3-deep.
K. D.
Tried this place with a group of co-workers - the hanging kebabs were so nice and full of flavor. Food came on time and the price was reasonable for the area of town that it is in. Will be returning again soon- Many Thanks!
K. R.
Great bar for groups, loads of drink selection across the board - beers, wines, spirits, with a fanatic outdoor seating area.
Music entertainment both indoor and outdoor throughout the year makes this a very popular spot. Plus, located snack bang in the middle of Spinningfields, Manchester's business quarter, there are lots of other restaurants and bars to visit before or after.
J. C.
Great location, excellent food and an excellent selection of beers.
A. W. (. 5.
Great staff, unusual surroundings. Had our office xmas do there a few nights ago and we were housed in our own, private double teepee. Staff were attentive and friendly, food was very good and it was mostly pretty warm despite us essentially sitting in a tent in December!
B. B.
The food here is delicious. Staff very efficient and friendly and lots of atmosphere.
T.
The food was reasonably priced and the service was excellent with friendly staff. I went here with colleagues who liked the place. Unfortunately, the modern aged-effect decor is not to my taste, and the fish and chips was lacking flavour.
D. B.
One of the best drinking establishments in the area. Started as a temporary location but now a fully fledged landmark. Brilliant outdoor drinking area in the warmer months, and giant tee-pees during winter.
T.
This place is brilliantly placed amongst the towering glass of Spinningfields, it's actually slightly surreal when you first see it.
In summer it gets very busy, but if you manage to bag a table it's a great way to spend an afternoon.
The roast chicken is a particular favourite of mine and the chips are particularly good!
I. G.
Pleasant bar with an outdoorsy theme. Drinks are a little expensive but not unusually so for the area. The outdoor seating and teepee are pretty cool.
G. C.
Great bar with an extensive outdoor area, great for these summer night's....the hanging kebabs are ace. Service really good but can get really busy and with the bar area being small you might have to wait a little, don't let this put you off though
J. H.
What a bar, one of the best outdoor spaces around and so relaxing
F. B.
Great place on a summers day! In the central courtyard! In winter cosy log feel in bar.
This place is always buzzing, if you want a good after work drink with friends. It's a must!
T. H.
Great place and a fantastic atmosphere. The sharing fondue platter was absolutely gorgeous and the draught beer helped wash it down. Helped that I was surrounded by great company too.
L. S. (.
Probably one of the nicest looking places in Manchester. I haven't tried the food (although the hanging kebabs look good) but it's great for a drink. It can get extremely busy on the weekends, but if the weathers nice there's a decent amount of seating outside.
A. W.
Best place for a drink in Manchester. The atmosphere is always fantastic and they always make sure there's great music (usually live).
It is busy, so it takes a while for a drink, but that's because so many people love it there!
S. D.
A great place in the heart of Spinningfields... Scandinavian /Nordic feel, big leather chairs, rustic interior, a cosy place to hang out, especially during the winter months!
Food is great.. atmosphere is great and the drinks, you guessed it are great! The hanging chicken kebab is succulent and delicious.. The best thing for me is that they sell Samuel Adams on tap!! Hooray!!
Relaxed atmosphere, with a great atmosphere, especially for after work drinks..
A. P.
Great food and atmosphere. The Oast House is an experience that should not be missed. Also...really love the lighting outside...it is amazing. Super good. Such design.
K. M.
Can be quite expensive (£30 for a bottle of Prosecco) but the atmosphere and amazing outdoor area (Great in Winter and Summer) for me - kind of justify the price. Love it here and the hanging kebabs!
p. p.
Nice place but I don't like the fact that the don't have any locker rooms
J. S.
Good location and has a good outside area, while we were there they had some live music on and they have a range of good ales, we had already eaten but beluve the food is good and they have gluten free options (and beer).
C. L.
Brilliant location excellent bar
B. H.
Nice place, rustic feeling. Good food and fast service.
I. L.
Although the renovations weren't quite finished the staff were excellent and the place is a very nice. We were a party of around 10 and the drinks service, singer and the food was on point. Highly recommend
D. L.
Good pub, sat outside in Siberian type cold but decent beer garden and good service.
J. T.
Great outside area with performance stage. Food was also good
P. P.
The Oast House is styled as a beautiful little house that you would find set far out in the middle of the woods. With a selection of ale from barrels to choose from, you have to go here to try the drinks. The venue is a great place to go after work and the food is mouthwatering. I would highly recommend the chicken skewers or burgers as the presentation of food is excellent.
J. B.
Really friendly staff. Just a quick pint so no opportunity to comment further.
J. A.
Great pub in a handy location near to shops and bars. Good menu and selection of drinks. Would have been 5 stars but service was very slow. Good atmosphere.
T. S.
Amazing! Food great ,drinks fab, long awaited trip, didn't disappoint!
E. D.
If like me you like outside space and relaxed vibes when you think of your favourite pub then the Oast House in Spinningfields would be a good shout. Even at its busiest times it still feels relaxed with its rustic decor and delicious food. The botanist which is its sister bar not far up the road is very similar but for me the outside space makes this place. Great memories and some fantastic nights out have been had here.
The hanging kebabs are something to be tried and a definite must.
There is live music every evening and its always a treat.
j. e.
Great night. Friendly bar staff. Good atmosphere with live music outdoors. Absolutely packed but served in good time and found somewhere to sit.
J. D.
Can be very busy and mad but still a very pleasant place to have a pint before moving onto a less crowded venue.
The men's toilets are a bit meager s I hope management take note.
g. b.
Amazing service staff amazing well done
C. B.
Fast service, lovely welcoming staff and ample space to adhere to regulations. Food was great as always 👍
R. S.
Great location. Large outdoor area. Good range of beers. Live music acts nearly all the time. Great food #HangingKebabs!!
P. D.
Ordering system not very user friendly especially if you don't have the latest phone. Staff friendly enough.
Double check your food options as GF options are not fully GF which was quite worrying
D. S.
Service a little slow and bar a bit busy, but that's only due to how busy things tend to get. Great food and outdoor area.
A. H.
Brilliant friendly staff was served by Quianna who advised on what to eat, out in Manchester for wedding anniversary. Reasoable price drinks and food was amazing live music didn't want to go anywhere else . Loved it .
T. B.
A nice place to come and grab a beer in the centre of Spinningfields, well that's if you can find a table in the summer months as it is a very popular destination. They often have some live music on stage, not always my taste but at least they're doing something. It's a bit of a strange looking building as it's so old fashioned looking (but beautifully designed) even though it was only built recently. It's quite a refreshing change around that area to see so is worth a visit just to go somewhere that doesn't look like everywhere else.
S.
Modern and well presented venue, best for casual drinks and socialising. Live music on the weekends with a stage and outside bar for the smokers. Appeals to all ages and groups!
D. P.
Brilliant night out on a works Christmas party. Drinks were aplenty, and food was brilliant. We were in the teepee out side and really enjoyed the night. Would easily recommend...
S. M.
Great selection of beers, including craft and keg ales.
B. K.
This place seems to be growing.
This unlikely looking venue, nestled between the Magistrates' Court and the Crown Court, is the home of the only all-year outdoor barbeque. Well, it's a little hut in the beer garden where they cook really yummy kebabs.
There is a good choice of drinks here but people tend to come for the quirky appearance and the chicken skewers dangling on a hook above delicious fries - with a little pot of garlic butter to pour over it all.
Not cheap but damned nice.
A. V.
Great vibe, huge outdoor seating area. If you come at the right time you can catch some live music.
R. B.
Lovely sitting outside, plant based burger was fantastic, chicken burger was awful & so were the chips, table & bench both wobbling
R. P.
Great real ale. Sat outside under the covered and heated area. Barman was friendly and let me taste a couple of bitters before choosing one. Recommended.
R.
Always busy, great selections of beers from around the world. The only problem is that it's probably too busy. Takes a good 10 minutes to get served if you're there at the weekend.
R. L.
So 'A' was the best. Jam donut shots. Did I already mention that 'A' was the best?!? 11/10 would recommend, even if the bar staff are doing you a solid and having a chat when you're on your todd 🙌
J. G.
Beautiful pub, really friendly staff!
G. C.
Great service and lovely food.
R. H.
If you love live music you need to be here especially in the evening it's fantastic. We drop by almost every time we come to Manchester. The Christmas teepee's are a fabulous touch and we love the beer.
J. R.
It's a load of shacks behind John Rylands library and it's great fun. Some good beers and freshly prepared food available. Well worth a visit.
N. C.
Amazing atmosphere and great fondue!
I. p.
Authentic, friendly atmosphere and staff were pleasant. Great range of drinks. Live entertainment was good. Seating inside and outside.
T. B.
Great pub and outdoor area gets very busy so often difficult to find somewhere to sit and eat hence have never had anything more than a drink here. Food looks good just can't comment as yet.
D. j.
Great food and service given the current circumstances very well organised and felt safe also.
T. L.
Has some outdoor seating with heaters etc, indoors very themed. Bar service friendly if a bit slow. Prices for wine quite high for the quality
E. C. (.
Great place... Lively atmosphere and live music. Drinks aren't too dear but can be crazy busy at the weekends.
D. S.
Probably the most unique place in Manchester to drink and dine. Designed like an old Oast House, they serve real ales and they have loads of seating outside and often have outdoor entertainment. The food is excellent, I had the burger and and was probably the nicest i've had and they have excellent hanging kebabs too. The kitchen is actually outside in a separate hut and is the perfect place to meet up with friends, family or work colleagues.
N. F.
Love this place, music food and drink wonderful always visit here when in Manchester
J. M.
I really like their dishes. I always get awesome service here. The place is well kept and the cashiers are always very nice. Would recommend to others.
B. M.
Cool place to look at located in a nice area of Manchester. Outdoor and indoor seating available. The place also offers food and an okay selection of drinks. It's a little bit pricey but that's to be expected.
L. M.
Love this place on a sunny day.
P. R.
Great place but expensive, £15.80 for 3 pints. Had a hanging kebab there a few years ago which was ace, don't know if they still do it, beer is good though with a cask ale always worth trying, would recommend a try
A. F.
The Last House was originally a temporary building to be kept max 5years. It has been so popular it has been retained by the City and have extended and enhanced the external gardens area substantially
Currently these gardens have Teepee's to keep people warm with open fires and heaters to create small 'nooks' for groups to congregate in comfort.
The bar is a completely different during summer and a very popular venue for everyone looking to meet with friends, family and colleagues and indulge in the Manchester lively atmosphere.
D. W.
Fab outside area and table service was pretty fast considering the size and how busy. Nice vibe!
K. H.
Nice place with great decor. Quite small inside so when the weathers bad it can get crowded. Not too cheap on beer either but atmosphere was great.
A. C.
A great outdoor space in Manchester. Live music good beers. Evening shade can't be helped but would have pushed it to 5 stars.
M. B.
First time visiting the other day and the food was great!
They really need to invest in some better chairs. Mine was held together with twine 😅
O. C.
Amazing!!! Here for the Xmas markets! Food amazing, drinks amazing, music amazing!
Please sort the doors out to the doors to teepee out as it's freezing when everyone leaves them open!!
Thank you
T. K.
A beautiful quirky old building right in the heart of a very modern Manchester City centre. Staff were welcoming and the food was good. Good to sit outside with a beer too.
R. T.
The Oast House is a fine example of what Spinnigflields is all about - it's an upmarket, very well decorated versatile space. During the summer, its the perfect beer garden to spend a lazy afternoon at and during the winters, they transform this space with a tepee complete with fur covered wooden benches and a fire place keeping you warm! The main dining space is set in a quaint little cottage which really is as cozy as it's going to get.
The hanging kebabs here are brilliant but my favorite has to be the warm honey infused ciders they serve during the colder months - it's winter personified.
O. G.
Lovely place would recommend, great atmosphere and drinks. Saturdays and Sundays are live band nights!!
D. S.
Great atmosphere especially once the live music started
T. T.
This place is an amazing hidden gem in the cityplex of Manchester. I am from the states and totally stumbled upon this while walking around the city. Great live music, beers, food and atmosphere.
M. B.
Very busy, great atmosphere. Unfortunately our chicken wasn't cooked but the manager refunded our food bill and the chef re cooked our order which was delicious. I would go again
S. D.
We came here with a big group (26) and had a great time, they seated us on the benches and although there was a bit of a wait on food it was of a good level. Selection of food was good and we didn't have to wait long at the bar

Very busy on weekends. They have put up some awesome teepees for winter with an extra bar and plenty of extra space. Good Budvar beer from the pressurised tap meaning it's extra fresh.

One odour favourite bars on Manchester good beers and the food looked really good, definitely will be eating there and our next trip, did miss the fire out the front as was a bit parky
l. b.
Reasonably priced, great food, nice atmosphere, top service. Perfect in warm weather to sit outside!
C. H.
I really wanted to visit, great location and atmosphere but can't book a table or even request a table once there. Staff said just free for all, stand and wait until a table becomes clear. There was little chance of getting a table anytime soon so we left.
L. G.
I often come here with friends for a beer or two with fries. Love the fries. It is also cool place for meetings - not business meetings of course. It is cheap and the atmosphere is pleasant.

Who doesn't love The Oast House! Recently refurbished which has only made it even better. Definitely a must on a bank holiday weekend! Live music creates an amazing atmosphere!

Not to bad nice quite and pretty popular.

Small bar that can get very busy. Good food with the kebabs always being popular. There is a large outside space so always good when it's sunny.

I attended a wedding reception in the curious teepee and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect city centre venue for the winter. It looked beautiful and staff made it so easy to plan and were great on the night.

Spinningfield's Oast House has an appealing rustic barn like exterior. Inside its warm and welcoming, which is perfect for visiting in the winter months. A great cosy place to come for a few drinks - though you'd be lucky to get a table as it is generally busy.

At the end of some serious renovations when we sat down to lunch so a bit noisy at times. We were reassured that job will be finished in a couple of weeks. City beer prices came as a shock, food was good and interesting....
L. E.
Delicious food and drinks but always busy and very difficult to get a seat. Great atmosphere in summer with live music some nights outside

Awesome venue, was quiet when we visited. Good staff, quick service, clean and tidy. Got to sit outside and enjoy our drinks in the evening.

Chaos at the bar to be honest, bit of a free for all, it was busy but needs to be managed especially during the day, I saw 2 parties give up and leave.
Food okay and came quite quickly.

Been a year since my last visit. Ok place with good quality beer. Not tried the food so can’t comment. Can get busy.
S. S.
Love the place. I will have at least one pint almost every time I go out to town. Usually live music over weekends. Special tents over Christmas period.
H. N. (.
A rustic vibe with fun and friendly bar staff. Live music was a plus, but it would be great if the space encouraged more dancing!
D. C.
Great place to drink outside in close proximity to the busy areas in Manchester. Can get very busy but generally not too long to wait for bar service. Prices in line with what you would expect given the location.
C. P.
Too expensive for a glass of wine

Was only drinking so cannot comment on food. Bar was busy but was quickly served. Great outside space to enjoy a few drinks.

A quirky little pub in the middle of Spinningfields with a big outdoor area. Often got a nice selection of ales behind the bar and the "Hanging Kebabs" from the grill are very tasty. Doesn't get so much sun in the late afternoon/evening, but good for a late-morning/early-afternoon visit on a weekend, if you're looking for that. They also had a huge teepee up in the courtyard bit last winter!

After moving to Sheffield from Brighton and being spoiled by the pub scene, it is so refreshing to find a true, country pub right in the centre of town. Great music, great service and a great vibe for a chilled out Sunday lunch. Their kebabs are to die for!
M. M.
Great place for a drink and to chat with friends
W. C.
Great atmosphere, a wide selection of drinks, and reasonably priced to boot. They have food options and live music, what’s not to like?
C. B.
Love coming here for a drink, gets very busy during summer but very good for meeting new people. Thank you for your amazing food and customer service.

Great atmosphere in this bar
Top live music
Great times

The Oast house is great for warm weather with a massive out door area in the middle of Spinningfields. It’s always buzzing in the summer and they have an outdoor BBQ shed station where they grill all their meat so it smells amazing! The food is good and they have a large beer/larger/cider selection. Inside its cosy and a bit like a scene from a German market which makes it great in the winter too – although it does tend to get crowded inside on the weekends.
B. D.
Great food and good choice of drinks. Would recommend the kebabs as they seem to be the speciality. Starter tasting platters for two are recommended. We will be returning!

Vey good experience, Emily at of front house was very helpful would recommend. Also appreciate all the staff thanks. Will come again.
J. L.
Relaxed outdoor bar with great people watching for summer days and nights in Central Manchester.
A. S.
Nice, historic vibes, crowded but not uncomfortably.
Feels like a German beer hall plonked into the middle of Manchester. Good beer selection (slightly pricier than the average).
G. D.
The place is really awesome! If the weather is good, the terrace is definitely a must go. Decent selection of beer. Live bands was also good !
p. b.
Brilliant atmosphere social distance well followed staff amazing definitely recommend
A. C.
Not keen on sharing benches but not much choice with the seating layout. The Prosecco is well overpriced.Otherwise a nice place on a sunny day.
T. B.
Good drinks selection, excellent decor and location. Live music regularly offered which is a lovely extra

Love this place. Great atmosphere and the food is brilliant with a great selection of beers from around the world. Prices are a little steep as you might expect.
R. B.
Customer service is incredible, thank you Cameron Chew for making our experience here will definitely be back soon ☺️

Great pub,great atmosphere,great staff!
A. D.
Probably a bad day to visit after the Manchester derby but service was a bit slow and it was not very family friendly. On a different day out with the boys and the match it would have been a very different story.
D. H.
Lager was ok not the best, had to sit outside where there were more seating than heaters. Only stayed for one, much nicer in the summer.
J. S.
Bit pricey but considering the location that's to be expected. Good service and good choice of drinks. Sat in one of the teepees with our drinks and was good atmosphere without feeling crowded. Definitely recommend this place.
T. D.
An amazing barn like pub in the centre of a hyper modern complex. They often have live bands here in summer. Oh, and the hanging kebabs are fantastic.
S. R.
Lovely atmosphere and perfect on a nice warm evening sat out drinking listening to live music, only downside is the toilets outside are filthy
Α. Ν.
I've been there only when the weather was nice. It was full of people but we always found a place to sit and enjoy our cold and reasonably priced beer
A. H.
Menu is quite unique and doesn't offer an alternative luncheon menu
C. E.
Love going here. Especially at Christmas when they have the teepees up. Great hanging kebabs too. Highly recommend the belly pork.
t. v.
Lovely food and refurb has kept the rustic feel people love. Great friendly staff and atmosphere. Busy even on a Wednesday night!
A. C.
Great place to go for a few drinks, amazing atmosphere especially at the weekend. Had some food there as well and I can highly recommend the pies and halloumi kabab
A. G.
The pub looks very nice and the stuff was really kind. I ordered a sirloin steak which was prepared cooked and served on time. Thanks a lot!

Really nice place, they are still finishing the other part off seating area, meal was awesome, staff are really nice, also found out it only opened recently, had a great time, it looks kinda like a barn, would definatly go back..
M. W.
Nice bar, great for outdoors seating, bar can get busy when waiting to be served
K. M.
Highly recommended the hanging kebabs! Favourite place to go in Manchester
M. R.
Manchester Markets are amazing here - highly recommend the teepee!

Place has great outside seating options and relaxed atmosphere although the queues for the bar can get a little long later on in the day

N. H.
Great place for drinks on a hot day but very busy at the bar and takes ages to get served, worth doubling up orders.
G. H.
Good beers and prid outside area. Nice city centre boozer.

Nice bar, very small inside but have a large outdoor area. The food is great but fairly expensive - it's Spinning Fields though right? Overall a good experience.
C. M.
Suitable for all seasons, relaxed indoor atmosphere and plenty of outdoor seating along with tents in the winter.
Only downside is that it's too busy because of how popular it is
S. N.
Having building work done at the moment to make it bigger and better they say , let's see what it's like when done .
They sometimes have a guy on the piano singing and he is pritty good as well , nice change
R. M.
Nice place through the week. Avoid during weekend as they can't cope with the bar orders that well. Lovely ambiance.
G. V.
lovely place...nice beers and cocktails...just a shame they don t do proper ales on draft or any nuts/salted crisps!
staff really helpfull...!
