Reviews of Twenty Twenty Two
S. S.
If you're after a place that will give you that Youth Club feeling of escapism, but that also serves alcohol, then this is the place for you. Popular with students and hipsters alike, Twenty Twenty Two offers a relaxed comes-as-you-are atmosphere, where everyone is made to feel welcome. The main attractions here are the numerous Ping-Pong tables and Dart boards, which can be rented for a fee. Randomly, last time I was in, they were showing Lord of the Rings, although surprisingly no one was watching it as most people were pretty slashed at this point.
Only reason I didn't give them full stars is because the staff working there seem to absolutely hate their job and I've never seen any of them smile. But perhaps it contributes to the vibe.
G. G.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere. Addictive!!
S. S.
Like this place. Music could do a mix up for me personally but the venue and staff itself is good. Reasonable drink prices and table tennis to enjoy. Relaxed environment for groups
D. H.
Something different, reasonably priced for the tables although the place could do with some windows or ventilation. It's an absolute sweatbox down there. Toilets are not the best either. Nonetheless really enjoyed our night.
I. B.
Chose this place as the venue to have a few friends get together and celebrate my 40th. Rachael was a huge help during the covid-affected booking process and the staff on the night (from what I remember) we're fantastic as well!
Also, sorry for climbing onto your table!
A. R.
Cool event space that you can hire for a reasonable rate. They have good music (hip hop, funk, electro kinda stuff) a decent beer selection and it has a real grungey kinda vibe. As well as playing ping pong, you can often see art here there as they us the space as a gallery quite often and it's open late on a weekend if you want to party on.
R. P.
Great bar. Ping pong tables and dart boards are a really good feature. Not too keen on going to Manchester for drinks but I'll return for this bar
C. P.
Decent place for a few after work drinks. Not really an all night venue as after a few beers the ping pong balls flying around your head get much harder to dodge! Nice relaxed vibe though for a casual night.
N. L.
Great for table tennis and a drink, however drinks choice is limited. Private room available if needed. Reasonable prices for city centre.
J. H.
Had a wonderful evening in here. Met lovely people. Had a dance drinks and a game of ping pong 🏓
O. H.
This bar is an experience. They often play films, football or other videos on their projector, but the music always covers the audio. They have ping pong tables set up, though they are always busy. The drinks are a little expensive, and the aesthetic looks like a proper dungeon, being mostly concrete with a few tables. It's also difficult to find being a little off the beaten path and down a creepy staircase. You just have to try it.
N. T.
Great night out, friendly staff and good music. £5 for 30 mins of ping pong is a solid deal as well.
J. M.
Love the table tennis, which is healthy than taking pints of alcohol.
S. “. T.
Amazing little find to go for a fun game of ping pong and a few drinks before a night out. Friendly staff, great music but the door staff need better training and understand how to speak to customer
D. J.
Best thing ever!?!? This is such a good idea. It's a really chill atmosphere where no one cares how good you are. It's 5 pounds for 30 minutes which is a fair price but if you go later and its not busy they don't care if you play for 1+ hours. They sell really nice alcohol but it's quite expensive which is sad
B. R.
Great place to play table tennis amd have a laid back drink, ex factory so expect rustiness and a look of being unused. part of its charm. classic arcade machines too
j. d.
Great place in city centre for few games of ping-pong...check out Happy hour cocktail deals .cool vibe
R. H.
Came on a Saturday afternoon and we had the place to ourselves. Bit tricky to actually find but it's good fun. Was a bit too hot in there, beer is cheap and they have a few bar snacks. Worth a visit but I'd imagine it's not a whole evening venue
N. C.
Great bar with a great selection of drinks, lots of gins vodka and a great selection of beer on draft. They offer darts and ping pong. As well as some old arcade games whilst you drink. Will definitely be returning.
A. M.
Cool place, you can play table tennis there.
B. B.
Visiting some pals over the weekend in which they recommended to come here for a few drinks and a game of ping pong. Quite the awesome little place. A sizeable bar with seating, in which transforms into quite a large dancefloor. The others rooms host ping pong tables and some darts boards, which you have to speak with the staff to book a table/board.
The team here seemed very friendly, and the drinks were of a typical price for central Manchester. I would recommend this to everyone.
M. S.
Table Tennis bar. Good selection of beers including their house IPA. Nice little cocktail menu and friendly bar staff. At least 8 Table tennis tables with plenty of seats. Monday nights is free to play which is a great way to start the week.
G. U.
Really good fun on a night out, only issue is some tables are too dark or cramped.
J. A.
Great place to hang out. Between ping pong, darts and the arcade machines there's plenty of fun to be had.
L. H.
Fantastic place. Like the layout and industrial vibe. Table tennis is immense fun but hard to do regularly at the price.
J. S.
Love this place. Who doesn't love a dingy bar in northern Quarter where you can bat some balls around 🤣
n. i.
There is a 5 quid entry but it's is worth it for the ping pong or the club vibes
R.
Very good club, good staff and security make you feel safe, special mention to Paul and Robert
D. S.
This place is cool, the staff are friendly and the vibe was laid back on the saturday we went here.
Worth popping your head in I reckon.
P. C.
If you like ping pong with your alcohol this is the place
a. h.
Great bar , bit rough and ready but good atmosphere, ping pong and other games , only spent a small time here but found it very welcoming
C. S.
A great selection of activities (ping pong, darts, game machines) and reasonably priced! The drinks are slightly pricey but worth it for the environment
D. M.
Great bar with some very nice cocktails and good music. The atmosphere was great.
T. B.
Great bar with darts and ping pong entertainment
B. S.
Really fun, lots of seating, great to go with friends. Ping pong and arcade machines available. Great pints on offer - I had a Camden Hells (£5 a pint but entry was free so swings and roundabouts). I would definitely go again
J. B.
Fun bar that has table tennis. It's pay for the table now rather than a deposit, but it's not an issue. Still very good
M. C.
Good music. Enjoyed ping pong and darts!
H. K.
Everyone had to fill in track & trace online seperately, even though we all live together. Not ideal as we didn't all have our phones/one had ran out of battery, so one person had to complete seperate forms for each of us. Otherwise it's nice inside, though we didn't get to play ping pong as there was never a table free. Drinks are expected NQ price.
C. N.
Really cool place that does ping pong and beer pong, also has chill our areas. Only marked it down as its a bit grubby, toilets had no toilet roll and weren't clean.
Z.
Always good cocktails and relaxed vibe
R. I.
Always a fun time, lots of tables so too many people is never an issue. Happy is hour is great and there is always so many tasty choices.
L. g.
Cool hang out bar. Few ping pong tables in back and had England match on. Staff were great and no ott rowdiness kept on top of everything.
I. L.
Ping pong and beer. What more do you need.
Not the most salubrious surroundings but like I said it's good ping pong and beer!
N. A.
Really good bar, the atmosphere is great in here. It is really good to go with a group of friend, you always end up having a great laugh with them.
A really good section of drinks which are reasonably priced too.
I would definitely recommend to try this place out.
Only thing wrong was the toilets a bit dirty
C. N.
Table tennis was amazing. The place attracts friendly people who seem more interested in having fun than starting arguments. The staff are lovely. Most of all the table tennis was AMAZING! Will go there again.
M. J.
You can't hate this place, unless you are a helmet. In which case, leave yourself at home
R.
Amazing place, abit hard to find but definitely worth a visit.
K. C.
Fun place with lots of ping pong tables, it's £5 per hour and you pay at the bar. The drinks are expensive (£8 a double). Later the room with the main bar kinda turned into a club, played pop and dance type songs.
F. B.
At the time that I went it wasn't very busy, so there wasn't much dancing going on. At the same time the music was so loud that talking to someone across the table was difficult. Had it been busier it might have been a great place to dance. The table tennis area was great though, and we had a lot of fun doing that for 30 minutes for £5
K. P.
Great place if you're looking for something a bit different.
Tucked into a back street, down some stairs, into a basement. Large bar area to one end, half a dozen ping pong tables down the other end, great fun, very casual surroundings. Usual town prices but good selection of drinks on offer. Have been a few times now with family and friends and they are very surprised by what lies inside. Like I said, good fun.
T.
The staff are very accommodating! The cocktails here were pretty good if not a tiny bit on the pricy side (average price for a northern quarter bar). We ended up playing beer pong right until close and the staff was still very friendly despite this! It becomes more clubby on weekends with more people inside. Great place if you wanna play ping pong or beer pong with your friends.
A. P.
Amazing atmosphere. Wide open spaces and a million table tennis tables and yet somehow still manages to be warm and cosy. Good sofas and lovely bar staff. What more could you ask for?
D. F.
Slow service and it's chaotic and way too loud for what it is
A. G.
Stumbled upon this place by chance. What a find! Cool music, ping bog, beer, street fighter 2.
The stagg were sound in there, had a good chat with the doormen when we were getting our bearings (as we were away for the weekend).
Would definitely go back!
K. D.
Was a nice, quirky place. Quite busy even in the day-time. Had Table Tennis tables in the back which was £5 for 30 minutes but not bad if there's 4 of you. Beer pong in the front!
R. W.
The USP of this place is the basement table tennis tables. Cool vibe, with recreational amenities. 👍🏻
L. P.
Very groovy club! 4 Ping Pong tables available for rent. Amazing DJ playing fresh 90s Hip Hop tunes on a Friday Night and wasn't overly busy / no people acting like idiots.
It's a bit out of the way, but the experience and fun-factor of this venue is not to be missed. Great for large groups too!
L. H.
Great social hub of a venue! Great for after-work drinks, a quirky date, or catch a band in the side room. Catch the happy hour for cheap bevvies and you're well on your way to a great night with your clan!
R. S.
Really cool bar with lots of ping pong tables and funky graffiti darts area. Friendly bar man and nice vibe
P. N.
Cool place down the back streets of the northern quarter. Free ping pong on a Monday, happy hour until 7 each evening and 2 for 1 cocktails on a wednesday. Nice atmosphere with movies playing on projectors. Lots of students
J. A.
Very cool. Dingy basement bar with loads of table tennis tables. Cheap and reasonable booze prices. Only downside was a lacklustre bar man. Didn't bother me in the slightest but couldn't give it 5 stars
e. c.
Our go to place for a night out ! The ping pong tables are the best
F. “. B.
I think it's one of the best place to play ping pong in Manchester (That I tried).
The environment it's quite good and very friendly, nice music, nice people and above all nice beer.
There are a lot of ping pong table but there are also a few beer pong table, I prefer those for sure.
Finally I think that it's a good place to meet and know new people because, in a way or another, you have to help others to grab balls from the floor.
P. W.
Great place perfect for big groups
I. O.
Great for kids and the ping pong tables are a great feature
P. W.
Really cool bar, with a nice atmosphere. The ping pong tables are awesome but the beer isn't cheap. Realistically it's pitched at the same price as the bars around it in Northern quarter. Would recommend
O. M.
Fun place to go. Not a great selection of drinks but what they do have in terms of cocktails is nice, what's on tap isn't great.
£5 for 30 mins for a game of table tennis is a fair price, especially as if there isn't a queue they let you keep playing. Paddles are in good condition, as are the tables.
P. M.
Its a student friendly environment. Drinks are affordable as from £3.00. It has 2 sections - Table Tennis Playing Section with Bar included and A Disco Section (not so many seating spaces) with Bar also.
The DJ has a good music mix of Dance Hall, R n B, Hip-hop and Afro beats.
- The ladies toilet is so unhygenic, smells and is extremely small with sometimes ladies queuing.
D. J.
Great venue, lovely vibe very chilled. 6 ping pong tables, great cocktails and nice selection of craft beer too. Highly recommended, arcade games and beer pong. Very industrial vibe, crossed with a youth club
r.
Good for big parties. Lots of fun. Great customer service from all the team 👍🏻
S. J.
Insanely cool bar. This place is a hidden gem. Great decor style and a ton of ping pong tables which provide an interactive drinking experience and environment.
Staff are extremely friendly and bouncers were pleasantly friendly which is fresh considering bouncers in Manchester are you usally thuggish. Will make this one of my regular places to visit when out on the town.
Only negative part is drink prices. They are not terribly expensive but could be a bit cheaper. Still worth a visit.
A. K.
Cool basement bar with tonnes of table tennis tables. Fun for a different kind of evening. Not really enough places to sit and hang out though and you'll probably spend 75% of your time running around the room chasing after your balls and bumping into people
T.
I attended a creative meetup here and absolutely loved the surroundings, actually finding the place was a bit tricky (it's round the side and underground!) but once I was inside it was great. There's usually some form of exhibition going on with artwork adorning the walls from local designers/artists. The ping pong tables are the icing on the cake really - a great space!
J. F.
Interesting and fun basement bar with loads of character and atmosphere.
J. M.
Great bar lively atmosphere great music and staff
O. N.
Twenty Twenty-Two is a gallery, bar, and table tennis hall all rolled into one. The bar has a selection of constantly rotating real ales as well as a good selection of wine, spirits, and bottled beers.
I usually go in during the week after 7 when it’s very quiet and chilled out - usually no more than 20 people in, but I hear it is much busier at weekends. The venue itself is underground and quite spacious. There is always an interesting film on the projector in the main bar and you can usually get a table tennis table with no waiting on weeknights.
B. M.
Underground bar with a cool vibe, table tennis and beer pong tables as well as an old movie playing usually accompanied with some laid back hip hop. It benefits from being off the beaten track. This means that it doesn't get swamped in the same way that many NQ bars have done but don't let that fool you, the table tennis tournaments can get rowdy!
S. Y.
Great vibe overall, drinks are reasonably priced and the music on the weekend is top! Extra bonus, if you go during the week there’s usually a movie playing on the projector
M. O.
Bottled beer was a little expensive but overall it's a fun bar and had a good laugh in there
J. H.
Underground, throwback dingy bar with decent cocktails and table tennis for £5. Well worth a visit to kill a few hours with mates. No booking needed, just put your name down on a sheet and wait.
J. H.
As an events venue it's on the right track, as a club it leaves a lot to be desired. The ping pong is an effective gimmick that lured us in, but I found £10 for half an hour a bit steep - bear in mind you spend a lot of that time trying to chase the single ball you're given as it rolls under tables and winos in their early thirties. Make sure you pay in advance, otherwise they guarantee them to people who will, even if you were waiting first. DJs play decent, funky music, few people dance, and films are projected onto a wall.
H. M.
Been here for dates and to chill with mates. Talented bar staff and great location. Few arcade games in there and ping pong love it.
l. t.
Fun club tucked away. Not pretentious and relaxed
J. H.
Plenty of candles lit smelled great, but bottles/pints are at least £5 a piece. Very expensive even for Manchester prices. Beer pong and ping pong are the highlights of the place
E. R.
Really enjoyed our night here. It was busy on a Saturday night, they do great cocktails and drinks are fairly priced. Good if you like RnB and really enjoyed the ping pong
c. s.
A simple bar with some table tennis tables set up on a seperate room. Bargain 30 mims for £5 (per table) and if it's not busy you can expect to stay longer for free. Staff are really friendly and theyve got a good beat going with some good drinks. Beer pong is available but I havent tried that here.
M. R.
Best bar for pint pong, relaxed and unassuming. Drink selection could be a little better and prices could be a little lower but very reasonable during happy hours and free ping pong days.
T. G.
Saturday nights here are so good. R&B, hip hop, trap and more - it's a vibe! Not the best location to get to but it's worth it & if you aren't about the dance floor then you can play some ping pong with your mates while listening to good music and having a drink X
U.
Had to wait a little bit for the table tennis but worth it
S. J.
Dark and dirty ping pong joint. Solid happy hour too with £2.50 for a beer.
L. S. (.
This place seems famously hard to find.... the entrance is off Little Level Street and they have a wooden a-board outside.. so look out for that.
They have a very wide range of events here, from Jameson Tasting, a debate on the future of the creative industry in Manchester, Skyliners event last year and all sorts.
They've got happy hour just after work, a fair selection of bottles beers/ales and they always provide nice canapes if you're invited to an event here.
Oh, and they have free ping pong tables. If you like that sort of thing.
K. P.
Whoever put beer and ping-pong together is a genius. Plus the place smells like hippies. Looks dodgy when entering: underground, concrete, neon lighting but fantastic when inside :)
M. N.
Table tennis (or ping pong) bar, best and only one around.
Table tennis is free unless it's busy.
People are pretty good at this and friendly as well.
Z. E. B.
Visited for a Manchester Girl Geeks event and we occupied the basement for our Noise Party. The staff were super-helpful with setting up and sorting out sound.
Very cool space - looking forward to visiting again soon.
S. L.
Nice place! You can play beer pong, ping pong, have some drinks, and enjoy good music and dancefloor. Would go again!
A. I.
Great place, lovely atmosphere!!! It has a studenty feel that also makes professionals feel welcome. £5 a table for as long as you want. Grab your friends and go for it!
M. C.
Definitely a quirky stop in the Northern Quarter. Famed for its ping-pong tables, the arcade machines are also worth your time, as are the zine and print fairs here and occasional theatre and film events. On top of this you have a great selection of drinks and a spread of ages in attendance. Also worth seeing for the tiled basement showing off the industrial past of Manchester.
M. B.
Good venue. Some friends hired a room out there for their 30th and the staff were really accommodating and friendly. £3.90 for a glass of white wine - not as bad as some places in the Northern Quarter.
H.
Cool ping pong bar. Only costs a fiver to use the tables and you can stay long as you like when it's quiet. Beers are not cheap tho
W. F.
This place was a blast. My friends and I had a great time here. It's a little hard to find, but for ping pong, arcade machines and beer pong while drinking? It's worth it!
E. A.
So much fun great cocktails ping pong dart great vibes
D. C.
Free table tennis and drink!
For the young and young at heart.
Not disable friendly at all.
It's a celler and no ramp.
I enjoyed it.
C. C.
Cool little place. Nice beers. Ping pong is fun. Sometimes a bit cold and no phone service. But doesn't put me off
C. H.
Perfect place for going out on night!
B. R.
Such a top/quirky bar, great selection of Cocktails and Beers- Brooklyn, Longboard, Pilsner, IPA, Becks all on draught, couple of cask ales for measure and plenty bottled up. Get down immediately. Ping Pong and Beer Pong available as well :-)
J. B.
Ping pong! Four big tables - be sure to get there early to guarantee a spot. Check out the walls as they usually have an exhibition on, sometimes with art you can purchase. Great fun and you can hire out some of the rooms if you have a private function.
B. A.
The place has a nice home feeling, a place you can just sit down and relax with a drink. Plus you can play ping pong, play some retro games and you can also watch football matches.
T. S.
Great ping pong spot on a Saturday, drinks selection is good and the staff are friendly. Can get very crowded in the ping pong bit later on in the day so get there early for a bit of space
t. m.
Really good ping pong bar. But when we paid for drinks bar staff walked away with change until we confonted and asked for it back. But the atmosphere and tables are absolutely great.
P. T.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, I thought graffitti on walls was appropriate, and drinks are of a commendable variety, in alcoholic content and in price. Only recommendation is that TT tables be upgraded soon, and perhaps restrict drinks from the TT areas.
D. H.
Really different place - its in a basement and was very original - prices were reasonable and they have table tennis, also some retro arcade machines as well.
Z. A.
Fancy a nice afternoon in a vintage environment where to meet interesting people? Twentytwentytwo is the best place! In the busy city center in Manchester you can have a nice break enjoying a drink and if you love ping pong like me you can meet a lot of nice people.
You can play Street Fighters with the classic arcade cabinet and other videogames.
I ususally go every monday so i can meet my frieds met there and forget the job, at least for a while.
Never been at any of their events yet but looking forward to go soon!
I. G.
Quirky bar, can get loud at night. Free table-tennis on Mondays. A bit too dark for a proper game, to be honest, but still fun
M. N.
Lovely R&b vibe. Pingpong tables. What more can you ask for? Could improve on the decor and WC facilities though. Definitely need attention cause it's a huge turn off at the minute.
D. S.
Spacious, great fun. Table tennis, beer pong and any other red cup based games you can invent.
a. l.
Great club with table tennis. The crew is very nice because I have forgot my watch on a party, they found it and kept it for me. Exceptional for a club
U. S.
It's certainly got an underground atmosphere (being in a basement) with the ping pong tables, nooks in the walls to sit in. You don't want to touch anything though.
R. B.
Really enjoyed playing table tennis. Didn't stay long so didn't get to feel the complete vibe but seemed like a good quirky venue for if you're looking for something a bit different
M. F.
Not too bad. For an under 30 this is excellent. The music was too pop and not edgy enough
Table tennis tables are a great idea
W. F.
This place was a blast. My friends and I had a great time here. It's a little hard to find, but for ping pong, arcade machines and beer pong while drinking? It's worth it!
G. H.
If you're 23 or under this is 5 star. If you're older than that you're going to feel very, very old. Decent beer though, and the ping pong tables are great.
J. G.
Great, booked out the back room for our group. Good for playing table tennis, beer pong and other similar games.
L. S. (.
This place seems famously hard to find.... the entrance is off Little Level Street and they have a wooden a-board outside.. so look out for that. …

Good venue. Some friends hired a room out there for their 30th and the staff were really accommodating and friendly. £3.90 for a glass of white wine - not as bad as some places in the Northern Quarter.

Lovely time just I wish id pay for the ping pong time
J. T. M.
Good atmosphere and fun evening out playing table tennis and drinking with friends.
S. J.

It's certainly got an underground atmosphere (being in a basement) with the ping pong tables, nooks in the walls to sit in. You don't want to touch anything though.
C. V.
Love this place! Bar staff are friendly and fun. Very good idea for a bar.
I. W.
Nice underground, two room space. Decent cocktails. Table Tennis & a Street Fighter 2 (Turbo?) arcade machine.
P. M.
Its a student friendly environment. Drinks are affordable as from £3.00. It has 2 sections - Table Tennis Playing Section with Bar included and A Disco Section (not so many seating spaces) with Bar also. …
N. T.
fun bar good laugh great for group or just as a couple. can go in relaxed clothes not dressy
M. S.
How doesn't like drunk take tennis, to spot in the northern quaffer with a really unique underground feel.
T.
The staff are very accommodating! The cocktails here were pretty good if not a tiny bit on the pricy side (average price for a northern quarter bar). We ended up playing beer pong right until close and the staff was still very friendly …
S. F.
Good fun! Table tennis tables and music makes for a fun night. Really loud so sometimes can't hear people
J. C.
Always a good laugh in here with the ping pong tables! Nice relaxed atmosphere, mainly quite a young crowd 😁
B. S.
Interesting, grungy atmosphere and we had a lot of fun playing beer pong... For some reason, I really liked the taps in the ladies toilet...
S. S.
Pretty cool place, great to be able to attempt to play table tennis after a few drinks. Atmosphere was good and the drinks were fine.
R. B.
Great spot in the NQ of Manchester! Love the music and the general atmosphere. Also good drinks and ideal for casual private bday parties.
K. H.
Had a ball with work pals! Good music with great atmosphere .. table tennis was a surprise .. but made for a good laugh.
A. B.
Great music, good place to have fun with the paddles
J.
Interesting decor, good drinks selection, but seems a bit dingy. Also has a ping-pong table and a beer pong table, so great for groups.
M. F.
Not too bad. For an under 30 this is excellent. The music was too pop and not edgy enough …
K. V.
Good to play a few games of ping pong but it's not a very clean place overall and the drink options are not great
D. R.
Table tennis is fun and the beer's alright, but the arcade machines are an absolute rip off (especially if you're both rubbish at Street Fighter)
A. S.
Nice bar with Ping Pong & other drinking games. Good selection of drinks but can get can very busy.
A. J.
Price and atmosphere is great and certainly welcome. A decent place to visit if you're on a night out.
J. M.
Underground Ping Pong until the early hours of the morning- whats not to love?? drinks are a bit expensive but thats Northern Quarter for you. Love ending up here on a night out
R. M.
Brilliant, relaxed, friendly we went on a Monday when there was free ping-pong. There are also arcade games and pinball
B. L. (.
Bread tastes amazing and staff are really friendly! Only came to collect some bread but will come back to try the coffee and food.
C. W.
Stale beer and very dirty but was sold as a place for ping pong and it’s great for that. Good quick start to the night.
D. J.
The Twenty Twenty Two is the spot if you're looking for some good old school hip-hop & RnB music.
Great thing about that place is that you can also play Ping Pong at the back !!
A. H.
