Reviews of Worsley Old Hall
P. B.
Nice meal and beautiful surroundings. Good selection on the menu and food of a high quality. Great selection of beers.
1 star off for service. When presented with the card machine for the bill it had the %s to add for a tip. I said “15” to which the server took as £15 and not 15%. I didn’t notice until I was back at the hotel and seen the charge on my card. £15 was about a 30% tip! 😄 Ah well, never mind, I hope it made the servers night but one to watch out for.
K. B.
Delicious meal and lovely staff.
Someone I was with had a bit of an issue with their initial order- the staff were wonderful, super apologetic and got her another dish so quickly. Really appreciate the wonderful service. Thanks again!
C. C.
Absolutely lovely pub, very nice exterior and interior.
Made a last minute decision to come for Sunday roast, and despite the restaurant being fully booked, they were more than happy to accommodate us in the bar area.
Food came out fairly quickly and it was absolutely delicious. A decent sized portion and every part of it was tasty!
Will definitely come again to try other items on the menu.
K. F.
Beautiful building, lovely staff. Not many vegan options, salad or curry. I opted for the curry which I thoroughly enjoyed. Then the Apple and blackberry compote. Much tastier than I expected.
G. H.
Easy access from the motorway, but once in there you feel like you are tucked away from the world. Surrounded by greenery. Lovely staff AMAZING food and a great selection of wines and Ales.
Cosy open fires, beautiful gardens to sit in and they even allow dogs!
M. M.
What a Lovely place to dine! In the heart of Worsley! Great ancient building, fascinating, cosy big garden, kids just love running around it and play on that tractor. Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, quick service, lots of parking, better to book a table in advance as can be fully booked. Every time we come here, every time enjoy! Highly recommend if you are in the area ❤️
M. C.
Great character pub/restaurant. Not a lot of vegan options but the ones they had were excellent, recommend but check menu before going.
S. G.
We came here for a family meal. Dining with adults and children.
Food was good, I would return and try something different on the menu as there was plenty to choose from. The chocolate orange cheesecake dessert was a welcome change to the usual desserts on offer. Overall very satisfied with our visit. I would recommend to others.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly.
G.
Loved meeting friends in this atmospheric gastropub ... with so much history ! Wonderful food and exemplary customer care so booked a return Christmas visit!
G. M.
Celebrating a special birthday with 11 of us in the private dining room. The customer care was exceptional with all the staff, especially Steve. They were friendly and attentive and made us feel welcomed and relaxed. Thankyou! Food choice was excellent and all meals had excellent feedback. The room was decorated with pictures tastefully and the large ladies room was clean and decorated lovely too. Great experience and choice for a celbratory meal. Definitely be returning. Highly recommend.
M. B.
Food and service was excellent. Slightly on the higher end price wise but the quality was very good so you don't mind paying for a good meal. Location is excellent too with plenty of space for the children to play outside.
A. P.
Even though we aren't local to Worsley Old Hall, it is one of our favourite places to go. The food is lovely (we really miss the breakfasts though, they stopped doing during the pandemic) A great choice of drinks, and both the indoor and outdoor spaces are wonderful.
L. C.
Beautiful grand building.
Huge garden with lots of seating. Wooden beams grace the ceiling, stunning decor and once again a huge space inside. Lots of choice of spirits and ales etc... Booking essential at present if you want to eat or sit outside. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Lovely family friendly establishment.
A. W.
Such a glorious building! Staff were polite and the food was lovely. Plenty of parking!
R. F.
Nice place, well looked after and nice beer garden surrounded by golf course. Food was good, standard pub fare. Dog needed to be on a lead or it would chase after the golf balls!
K. A.
I was really looking forward to this dinner as the place looks incredible from the outside. The first disappointment was that we were seated in the more modern room, which lacked any feeling of extravagance and Christmas. The pop tunes playing were too loud and random. The food was quite nice, I really enjoyed my dessert! The service was poor. I asked for extra gravy and never got it. Same happened to my partner who ordered an espresso with his dessert. Never came. I think the issue was that we were served by 5(!) different people throughout the evening and no one seemed to really keep track. Lastly, no one even asked if we had a nice time and enjoyed the food. That was not great service, just for that I will not return.
R. T.
Beautiful building and grounds for a superb indoor our outdoor dining experience. Staff are friendly and food is of a truly great quality. Portion sizing comparative to the higher price point however needs work which to my experience is why this place is not a 5* review.
J. C.
Full of character, warm lovely lighting, real fires, one if if not the nicest places I've been to. The food is well priced and really good quality. Staff helpful and friendly.
B. C.
Wonderful old building.
A first timer there for food and a party of 3 all enjoyed our food. It was cooked to perfection. Staff very I formal but also very friendly
Could not fault.
T. B.
Great pub. Beautiful setting. Super child friendly. Nice tractor.
A. L.
Our first time visiting for a family meal. Great pub food in a fantastic setting. Great staff and lovely food, we will be returning in the summer to make the most of the bug beer garden 🙂
D. D.
Excellent food. Amazing grounds...beautiful surroundings. We did wait a while for out courses but staff were very accommodating.
C. R.
We very recently had an emotionaly sad family gathering (23 people) and I have to say we were all served at the same time with fresh, delicious meals. The staff were attentive and professional which made the 'event' more tolerable. Thanks to all.
P. W.
A brilliant place for lunch, set in beautiful grounds, with an extensive and reasonably priced menu in a quaint environment with a cosy atmosphere. The service was great, and the food arrived quickly so it is a great place for those on restricted lunch breaks. The food was quality and very tasty.
The premises were easily accessible for those with limited abilities, and the Covid security was second to none.
E. T.
A lovely atmosphere, unrushed, staff really attentive to your needs, nothing too much trouble. Would go again. A great night for a diamond wedding anniversary very relaxed
A. T.
Visited for Mothersday. Sat in the private dining room upstairs which was lovely.
Great to have family all back together.
Food was expensive but lovely. Really enjoy ourselves.
The outdoor space is great for children to let off steam after there food.
P. M.
Fantastic food, great venue and top class service.
A. L.
The building, decor and surrounding areas are beautiful, but unfortunately the food doesn't reflect. It wasn't just 1 meal it was 3 meals . They were cold and tasteless. The staff were attentive and apologetic just a shame the food wasn't of the same standard
A. S.
Took my parents for a celebration meal and it was extremely busy but service was still excellent and wait times were fine, food was great and drinks reasonably priced. Overall a good high end pub dinner!
A. G.
Great setting and the staff are very good and attentive. Food is always great and the menu varies regularly. If you require Gluten free food this is an accredited place and serves a wide range. Recommended.
J. M. M.
Good old spot. Grounds are really nice, the inside is gorgeous from walking through it. The 2 of us ate in the outside covid bit booking easily through the website, there's a qwerty code to scan on the table to order and pay which is great. The outside bit is really well spaced under a large canopy, big picnic type tables with lots of space between them. Family next to us were 4 deep with a pram and we were far away enough to barely register them. Food was a treat as were the beers, service was great. Menu seemed a bit restricted/odd due to covid maybe but what we ordered was good and reasonable considering the setting is so well done. Will review again when get to go inside to see if this should be a 5 under normal circumstances.
W. J.
Wonderful, historic building with a cosy and welcoming decor. We had a family dining room with a huge round table to ourselves for the whole night. The food was excellent. I had tender beef feather blade with tasty gravy with mashed potato with a taste of horseraddish. Green and Orange veg cooked perfect al dente. Forgot to take photos, sorry 🙈
Brewery Bitter was clean and Malbec very nice.
Best venue I could think of for a big family gathering. Many venues have disappointing "pub food" out of the microwave or deep fryer. This place has the history, hospitality and quality. Only suggestion is they should serve hand cut chips as my cousins looked like frozen. So unnecessary in a quality venue.
M.
We really like the Worsley Old Hall. The decor inside is very warm and inviting. The outdoor area/garden very nice too. The perfect place for a Sunday roast. Nice staff and very good food as well as nice drinks selection. Even the bathroom is an experience of it’s own: big and very clean.
W. B.
Great place to dine, food was excellent staff friendly, attentive but not intrusive, my dinner companion and I have dined here previously prior to Coved restrictions, and several times I've been here with groups of friends and always enjoyed the experience.
J. S.
Went on mother's day. Party of ten. Staff were all excellent and welcoming. Service was very good. Food was below expectations.
J. R.
Fantastic food, really hospitable and a great setting. Will be returning to sample more of the real ales and the brilliant menu.
K. S.
I absolutely love this pub. Always a warm, cosy atmosphere and a decent range of wine, spirits and beer available. Sunday lunch can be hit and miss but food on other days is lovely!
G. B.
We visit Worsley Old Hall often, especially for birthday gatherings. The service is spot on and the staff are always polite and professional. The food is always enjoyable and although not the cheapest, it is worth paying that little extra for quality. The menu has food for all tastes, my dog and I visited today for lunch and a drink.....the Bao Bun is a must. The pub is cosy with a lovely, warm atmosphere in the colder months and inviting, large gardens and terraces in the warmer months. The clientele are all ages and from all walks of life and more importantly, always friendly and chatty. A regular for all our friends and family ( including dogs!). Absolutely love this venue.
M. K.
Beautiful place with lovely staff. Food was delicious. Nice range of non alcoholic drinks and juices.
S. O.
Stunning location, friendly, helpful staff, fairly priced. Will definitely be back!
S. M.
Great GF menu. Excellent food with pleasant professional service. Would visit again no problem.
M. K.
Amazing place with amazing food and service. The grounds are peaceful even on a busy day. Highly recommended
O. C.
Always live coming here, fantastic service and scenery. A big thank you to all the staff, keeps up the good work
S. Y. S.
Beautiful old building, set in its own grounds, and by far the best beef bourguignon and mash I've ever had. The hot waffle with caramelised banana and honeycomb ice cream was a hit too.
There were lots of well behaved little dogs in the place, and petting them was a nice diversion between courses (hand sanitizer was available). The staff were friendly and the service was swift, even though it was very busy.
If you are female, make sure you check out the luxurious ladies toilets, complete with fireplace and comfy leather antique chairs.
I will definitely be going back.
C. G.
Lovely location and place. Lots of charm and character. The ladies toilets are amazing. The food is good but not always consistent. The service could use a little help at times. They seem to be under staffed. They will however do everything they can to accommodate you, which makes it lovely. Best chips anywhere, always crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy and soft on the inside.
J. A.
Relaxing lunch in the bar area. Staff very welcoming and efficient. Food was very tasty. 3 empty plates!!! Enough said 👍
T. B.
Overall a fantastic visit, not only an excellent meal but service and atmosphere were first class. We will be back and cannot wait for the summer to enjoy the outdoors.
J. S.
Good varied menu for all appetites, value for money nicely cooked .Staff very helpful and polite . Lovely and clean restaurant.
M. R.
Food lovely, bit slow on the drinks but nicely handled.
Steak pie was fab 👌
T. D.
Lovely panelled building. Good atmosphere. Walk there if you can because the parking is a nightmare. Great garden and a great quality Brumming & Price pub
B. G.
Really good food, couldn't resist an afters as they all sounded so good. Staff were all lovely.
K. A.
Brill night out with friends , staff and food really nice. Will return. Need to book a table as always busy
P. M.
First time visit. Was really pleasantly surprised. Lovely setting, great garden and a fantastic selection of beers.
S. J.
Clean, friendly and a good family atmosphere serving top quality food at reasonable prices.
B. P.
Good quality did and drink, great outdoor seating area, too. Apparently, this place is linked to the wharf in Manchester and that says a lot as quality of food is just as good as the wharf.
Place is kid and dog friendly so the whole family is welcome. If you're going for Sunday lunch make sure you reserve a table of you want to sit in the restaurant. We sat outside so no reservations required there.
S. R.
This is the pub/restaurant (chain) you've been looking for.
A small chain but not a chain.
- Good to great food.
- Changing selection of beers.
- Bar food.
- Dog friendly in bar.
- Patio and Garden.
- BBQ in warmer weather.
- Private function dinning room.
- Ladies bathroom is amazing (so I'm told)
- Great old historic building.
- Open log fires.
- Relaxed dinning even in 'posh' dinning room.
- Kid friendly.
- Papers.
- Games.
- Receive meal loyalty vouchers during the week.
Nothing not to like. Yes a bit more expensive but you deserve it.
J. G.
We enjoyed a family meal, however, Housekeeping poor, service slow 5:30 to 7:30 on a Saturday.
Food nice just needs to speed up drink service, lost out on Bar sales as we were forever waiting for the Drinks.
D. L.
Sunday menu is very limited. Lovely place but could do a bit better with the food.
j. B.
Dined here twice with family. The staff was patient and polite. However on the first evening we ordered the sticky toffee pudding which was more like a browny. The second night we ordered the same desert and it was defo not a brownie but an actual sticky toffee pudding! It was good though!
Very pretty surroundings, nice food, few good ales, good and attentive staff.
We would go again!
G. C.
Lovely friendly staff, lovely food & a really lovely place with nice settings.
G. P.
Nice food, lovely staff, great atmosphere and the garden, wow!
V. T.
Stunning place, very good food, friendly staff.
H. S.
Good covid measures. Wide selection of drinks. Friendly atmosphere, and large pub garden which is perfect for current covid restrictions.
S. S.
Really impressed with the standard of food and more importantly the service. The young lad who looked after us was excellent and did a great job. I wouldn't hesitate to return - really nice atmosphere for a.pub so close to the city it's almost got a country pub feel.
B. F.
Lovely afternoon enjoyed the food 😊 and place was fantastic 😀 would go again
s.
Very tasty food served piping hot and served quickly! Loads of free parking. Disabled friendly. Beautiful surroundings where your children can have a safe run around after your meal! Reasonably priced. I have been before, I'd go again and I'd recommend this fine eatery to others!
H. D.
Staff were excellent. Food was good, beer was well kept. It was busy, so we had to wait a little bit longer than I would have liked, but not enough for it to spoil our visit. We have agreed to go vack some time after Christmas.
K. B.
Lovely food, reasonably price in an historic house. Would definitely go again.
J.
Fabulous food! Roast beef with kingsize yorkshire puddings..... delicious. Staff were working really hard as it was so busy. A great team in the resteraunt they all had a friendly and assertive manner nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend a visit for sunday lunch!
D. C.
Had Sunday roast with a few friends. Food was absolutely fantastic, all gluten free as well. Plenty G/F options on the menu so great if you're coeliac. Will definitely be going back soon....Hopefully Sunday !!

H. W.
Took 2 friends from Yorkshire and they loved it as much as we do. Good food and friendly staff.
S. D.
Very large and elegant Brunning & Price establishment. Good quality food, a cut above normal pub fare, with decent cask ales. Very busy when visited on a Monday lunchtime.
l. t.
Great service very friendly and helpful and love that they are dog friendly
M. H. (.
Very good gluten free menu. Cheese, onion and potato pie recommended
M. D.
Our meal was lovely and the surroundings are very nice Beautiful Tudor building in lovely grounds Highly recommended it
S. H.
Brilliant building on amazing grounds. Food was absolutely spot on. Well priced, good selection, short wait for food to arrive at the table. We was a party of 9. Plenty of space outside and many tables also.
We have a special needs child that will only eat a selection of 4 meals. We took one of those meals with us. The staff and chef was more than understanding and warmed up the meal for us without question. We were incredibly humbled as we didnt want to insult the chef.
Staff very welcoming and well mannered. Greeted and served with a smile at all times.
Will be going back without a doubt
If I could give 10 stars, i would.
I'm quite brutally honest with reviews and very rarely give 5 stars so well done to all the staff at Worsley Old Hall 😉👌
a. •.
Food was lovely and the building itself is beautiful. The gardens are incredibly scenic. Would definitely recommend.
N. C.
Fantastic atmosphere and food. Excellent service
A. W.
Warm welcome food was really really good went with a friend and we both thought it was worth the visit.
E. H.
Such a nice dining experience in fabulous gardens. The garden was busy with other hungry patrons grabbing a bite after work so there was a really nice buzz. The food was delicious. I had fish cakes, which were lovely, and I have no idea what was so tasty in the salad but it was absolutely gorgeous.
D. C.
Great menu, lovely private dining areas for small parties.
D. H.
Lovely place. Nice atmosphere and tasty food.
B. F.
We chose Worsley Old Hall for a meal as we'd been visiting the new RHS garden only a mile away. We found the staff very accommodating and helpful and the dining room was spacious and full of character.
I had a fabulous crispy beef salad and my husband enjoyed chicken and ham pie. Both meals were well presented and tasty. His only slight criticism would be that he'd have enjoyed more vegetables, but we do eat a lot of veg at home!
We'll definitely go there again when we're in the area next.
R. G.
Great afternoon on the rear terrace, sunny weather and excellent views over golf course.
M. G.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is excellent with beautiful surroundings .
D. B.
17th century Country House Pub with a wonderful beer garden , and it's dog friendly to !
V. B.
Pleasant lunch... beautiful venue... will definitely visit again
A. P.
Great place for food and drinks nice friendly staff. 👍
D. W.
Love this pub, roaring g fires and dog friendly. Best way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
M. D.
We went when you could only eat outside. They had a large marquee up, which was great because it was throwing it down. The food was lovely and the app needed to order was easy to use. As usual the staff were fantastic. My only reason for deducting a star was lack of outdoor heating.
Will definitely go back now we can eat inside.
D. S.
Super meal again and the best staff and chef anywhere around
R. H.
A fantastic experience for our first post-lockdown lunch with our lockdown baby. Really well organised, excellent signage and communication from the team including this letter welcoming diners back. Tonnes of sanitizer stations around the property with full table service at play now rather than ordering drinks at the bar. Really recommend a visit.
N. C.
Good food and service, couple of hitches but overall good!
L. K.
Lovely place , food and service excellent. Lovely authentic hall and gardens with ample parking. Nice background music which adds to the ambiance.
J. R.
Amazing attentive staff, high quality food produce in a beautiful setting
D. S.
Previously a 5-star review. However, we recently visited for a Sunday meal and were somewhat disappointed with the quality , amount and standard of food, hence the 3-star review. We eat at 7:45pm so it's entirely possible that the food (sunday dinners) and been cooked in full or part earlier in the day).
Service was great (as it's always been!!) and the outside benches were cleaned down after every customer.
J. P.
Thoroughly enjoyed lunch. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. The lunch menu has a good variety of dishes, a menu is provided for people who have allergies. The prices are reasonable.
L. O.
Fabulous place for a nice meal. Mid price range. Menu is not extensive but food is super. The beef feather is especially good, as is the cheese pie. Menu changes daily.
The rear of the restaurant has an extensive garden area.
s. o.
Food excellent, service very good, lovely surroundings. Doing dry Jan thought soft drinks expensive.
P. R.
Great garden. New menu looks really good. New menu is really good... excellent and surprisingly large portions. The cheese pie is exceptional.
E. W.
Beautiful venue inside and out!
Highly recommended and lovely staff too
R. E.
Wow. Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere. It was faultless.
C. O.
I really enjoy coming here as the building and outdoor area are really pretty. I love the superfood salad, it's so nice to have a healthy and filling option on the menu. The salad is full of colour, creamy advocado and crunchy pomegranate seeds and nuts. Delicious! I also love the vegetarian Sunday roast, so tasty! The staff are super lovely too :)
R. N.
Good selection of dishes on the menu to suit all tastes.
Food was cooked very well
Staff were very helpful and attentive.
S. J.
Have moved into the area recently and have visited here a few times the food i cannot fault along with most of the staff apart from one of the managers who makes every visit difficult. There is a policy of not reserving tables in the bar area but he does for certain people. We have experienced this on multiple occasions where we are told its first come first served then to be told ten mins later that we cant sit on a table because its now reserved or we cannot order food for 80mins. He has a huge attitude problem and is uninterested in pretty much any customer he doesn't know personally. Not sure of his name but was working on the evening of sunday the 7th of november. They need to make sure all staff have consistency in the information they tell the customers as different rules apply to different people it seems.
E. H.
Lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious.
R. M.
A dog friendly pub which is in a good location and can be reached easily from Worsley woods. If you are planning a stroll with your dog/dogs they also have a log burning fire to warm you up after the cold winter walk. On a summer day the large outside space is perfect as there are plenty of tables and space to walk the dogs, as well as swings for the kids.
Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant area, but if you are hungry you can order from the same menu and eat at one of the tables in the bar area or outside.
T. H.
Great food and beer. Lovely tea!
K. C.
Lovely food, posh building and beautiful grounds
S. M.
Nice interior, I liked the atmosphere. Had the fish and chips, very bland batter with little taste. I'd go back and try something else though.
J. L.
Was great
Nice variety of beer
Really tasty food
p. b.
First time back after the long break. Beautiful surroundings, super lunch and tasty beer. Obviously planning for worse weather with the big tent erected on site - rightly; today was exceptional.
PS. Make sure people keep their dogs on leads.
C. A.
Great set up, under cover so made dining outside much more enjoyable even in the rain! Great quality food and the Brownie was to die for! Great first experience back out having a meal!
L. S.
Private room booked. Food was lovely and service attentive
D. J.
Top atmosphere, really lovely with the log fires burning and staff are friendly and professional
K. Z. S.
Lovely location with a great selection of food. Staff were very accommodating. Loads of outside space for our dog to run around. Perfect spot for drinks and food in the sun.
M. C.
Excellent food and lovely, cosy atmosphere. Staff were very polite , friendly and efficient.
A. K.
Beautiful old country pub style with great local beer selection. Particularly loved the large outdoor beer garden on the lawn and the traditional armchairs places around the open log fires indoors.
J. E.
Really nice welcoming pub. Large group of us sat down for food before we went on a walk in the park. Nice pub grub
E. G.
Beautiful grounds, especially in the sunshine. Had a lovely light lunch. Would recommend!
r. g.
Very nice place , great outside terrace
S. 8. M.
Came for early lunch today, lovely food but service unfortunately was prioritised for those sat outside. Not once was we asked how our food was at the start, myself and partner didn't recall. Although a TV soap star was sat behind us and was asked about 4/5 times how his meal was by the same waiter or two waiters and his dinner plates cleared straight away. Albeit he was a nice guy. Thinking the staff were busy but we had to wait 15/20 mins for our dessert options. We was asked then how our meal was, which is really nice, but everyone should be treated the same. Soap Star or not. 🙄. FYI... I stopped watching all soaps 10 years ago.
Id go here again but will be sat outside next time if it's the right weather.
L. J.
Absolute top service from here today, food was absolutely delicious, atmosphere was lovely and all the staff were so friendly. A big thank you to Matt our server, he went above and beyond to cater for my allergy and he's such a credit to the team, thank you so much.
e. t.
Used the app to order and got superfast service. Happy staff well organised. Huge field for kids to run on. Just busy enough to feel alive, not too busy to feel crowded. Cheese pie amazing.
C. S.
Really nice place it was a Sunday me and a friend went for a drink. The Sunday roasts looked amazing!!! Yorkshire puds were huge!
I'll be trying that soon
J. P.
Good menu with variety of dishes. Good sized servings at medium prices. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Sufficient free parking.
P. H.
Lovely setting, attentive but not overbearing staff, great food. Great venue!
J. H.
Wonderful food and ale. Great well organised service. Last came here on Friday night 42 years ago. For a meal in the cellars. No longer available but it's a place I hold dear in my heart.
A. D.
Lovely place, lovely staff but awful veg ! Looks like wilted salad and no-one eats it - even the waitress a few weeks back said everyone sends it back on the plate!. Chef must be blind to not see all the unwanted stuff coming back in the kitchen...
C. N.
I had lunch here today with a friend. The food was excellent as was the service. We stayed most of the afternoon and then sat outside in the garden at the rear. Lovely day with a lovely friend.
R. F.
Nice location lots of character large beer garden with lots of room for children to play.
Decent menu with a good selection of dishes at a fair price plus friendly and efficient staff.
A. h. (.
Had a lovely meal here with my sister. The Crispy beef salad was to die for. Well done all the smashing staff
J. R.
A very lovely and warm welcoming place.
W. S.
A lovely building and setting and the recommended walk was good (if the description seems a little outdated). Service was a bit slow after online ordering (mid-afternoon on a Friday) and Brunning & Price seem to have changed their amazing chips, so that they're a little disappointing.
D. R.
Worth a visit
Very nice surroundings. Extremely nice pub with wonderful staff. Prices are no where near as expensive as you would expect for such a lovely building not far from 'millionaires row'
M. D.
Fantastic venue with a great garden for sunny days.
J. A.
Fabulous Sunday lunch it was delicious. Lovely picturesque beer garden. Very well thought out ordering system and great staff. Will definitely be back.
S. T.
Great location, in same grounds as Marriott Hotel and near to RHS Bridgewater Garden in Worsley. Large outdoor seating area with various rooms inside. Food a little pricey but always freshly prepared. Always go to eat here when we are visiting relatives who live in Swinton.
A. T.
Driveway to access the pub isn't walker friendly - there's no pavement, making it difficult in the dark. Otherwise great place.
S. J.
Fantastic to be back inside. Service was quick and efficient, staff were attentive and friendly as always, food was delicious. I'd recommend booking a table in advance to avoid disappointment
D. K.
Brilliant food, outstanding service. Just wanted to share my story of service excellence at worsley old hall. I came in this Friday with my Elderly mother.. It was her first time out to eat after 18 months of shielding and our server, Jacob, could not have gone more above and beyond to make sure the experience was special and memorable one for not just her but the whole family. She’s been very nervous about going back out into the world and now she wants to go back next weekend! Cant thank jacob and the whole team at worsley old hall for creating such a friendly, inviting and safe atmosphere.
G. L.
Lovely place with fabulous garden space for eating and drinking. Efficient service via the portal. Food was good but wine slightly overpriced.
N. Y.
Lovely pub / restaurant in a beautiful setting. Perfect for a drink or food with friends especially on a nice sunny day.
A. H. M.
Very nice pub with great food.
A. M.
Excellent food, staff and surroundings
E. C.
Not local to me, but whenever up here , it's a must do. Staff are the best, great setting and food standards are way above the price paid. One of my favourites
K. S.
Nice NYD drink walked there and back.sst outside under heated canopy
G. C.
Excellent service excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. What's not to like.
H. B.
Very friendly staff with a comfortable atmosphere.
The food was good and well priced
J. C.
Lovely meal and great service but discount envelope of either 25%, 50% or full cost should be opened at the table. After asking for bill the waitress took the envelope away, came back with bill and said you've got 25% off, which was great but how do I know it wasn't more if she took it away. Plus it makes it more exciting.
C. C.
Fabulous location, building and staff were super friendly. CV19 protections well respected. Very close to the new RHS garden in Bridgewater. We were first time visitors but will definitely be back.
P. A.
We had a meal here for a friend’s 70th in one of their private dining rooms and the service from the staff is just fantastic - it would be a shame not to leave a review for them. The food and drink selection is great and everyone was happy with their orders. Highly recommended and judging from how busy it was they are clearly doing a great job.
A. M.
Wow, little pricey, but looved the garden, the food the drinks and the pub is so nice. Great gin selection... and the fire... lovely
s. h.
Always good quality pub food and friendly staff. Huge place with beautiful outdoor seating in gardens
G. C.
Beautiful setting excellent food and service
a. d.
Everything about the meal was FANTASTIC, service, FOOD, settings. No complaints from 8 diner's
N. S.
Lovely pub dogs allowed and a very nice ambiance!!
S. J.
This place was lovely. Great setting. Most of the food was outstanding. I had the burger which was a little dry and over cooked. The rest of the food was nice. It is a place were you need 3 courses and maybe some sides with your main as the portions are a little small but very tasty. Quality over quantity here.
a. d.
Service and food was 1st class would recommend it to anybody
M. B.
Excellent food, service is good. Price on the upper side, but the beautiful building, cosy smart atmosphere and the food quality are worth it. The garden with the numerous outdoor tables are also a great option in summer.
G. C.
Great place, lovely food, pleasant helpful staff. Always enjoy visiting here.
A. L.
Excellent place location & food & service.
R. H.
Food was amazing and service was top notch. Can't wait to go again. Definitely a place I love to eat and enjoy good cask ales.
d.
Excellent food and drink. Outstanding service. Would definitely go again. Only difficult part was working the qr code out!
M. R.
Family meal today. Impressed by safety measures and organisation. Food all good, a bit surprised by no chips or potato accompanying the cheese pie, only cabbage. Cheese pie really good. Service slow, but a special mention for Jacob who was absolutely brilliant looking after us, friendly, attentive and helpful. He was a real asset. Thank you Jacob for looking after the Richardson family so well.
C. H.
Perfect.
The staff are amazing, so friendly and welcoming from start to finish.
The food is beautiful and very well presented. The chefs definitely take note of the quality and standard even when it's very busy!
The drinks are great...so much choice and very reasonably priced!
Great for groups, families, couples and any events..Very spacious, very comfortable and very relaxing.
You are taken taken very well care of throughout your experience at Worsley old Hall.
H. S.
Loved it, food, drink, atmosphere, live music. Great find
M. A.
Great drink selection! It would have been five stars but the food was just okay. I had the steak burger with chips. Unfortunately the chips were either well overdone or had been sat for too long. For the cost you would expect better. Overall I would still recommend this place.
F. C.
Nice place, staff lovely, food a little expensive but overall enjoyable
R. L.
Been here twice in the last month and it was excellent on both occasions. Friendly efficient service and really good honest food.
A. C.
Lovely gluten free cheese and onion pie. Friendly staff and very pleasant surroundings
G. H.
Visited for Sunday lunch and brought the dog.
Lovely environment, felt very relaxed and at home.
Had roast beef dinner - meat was lovely but disappointingly the veg wasn't up to much. No broccoli, carrots etc :(
Would still return but probably go for something else to eat.
D. B.
First time back in 2 years. Excellent service and top notch food. The Pate was beautiful and brother found the pie very filling.
S. G.
Upon arriving my first impressions were good, when you walk in you are greeted by a period style pub/restaurant that feels very welcoming. We had booked an exclusive private room upstairs that was outstanding, we were very impressed by the room itself and the views of the grounds. Our food came in a timely manner but I wasn't over whelmed by the quality. I found the food bland and somewhat over cooked, a terrible shame as the actual venue is outstanding but unfortunately the food is sub standard. This review is no detriment to the service we encountered, all staff were very welcoming it's just a shame the food is as it is.
T. M.
I lived here as a baby to 21 my dad used to be there caretaker my mum the head chef these were amazing times I would lo Ed to go. To our old house of someone could help
R. 2.
A beautiful place with lovely staff & lovely food. I came here for my anniversary meal and would love to go back soon ❤️
A. s.
Great food and great service, cheers ;
R. K.
The staff are friendly and lots of covid secure measures put in place. a really nice outdoor area, with green space. Plenty of parking. Good food.
G. C.
Great food, beer and hospitality.
J. D.
Great place for food and drink, go here often with the family, they change the menu often which I enjoy, and have different beers on each time, was very happy when I went once and they had Beavertown on draft. But steep but I'd say it's worth it for the service and quality of food.
A.
Definitely the best place in the area for a proper catch-up with friends. Staff is very friendly, the place is increadibly beautiful, quality of the products is correct. 👍
M. S.
This is a stunning old building in a lovely setting. It's very popular. I think on a Sunday afternoon when I last went, it was packed, with the result that service was on the slow side. The staff were working very hard. Food was mixed - beetroot starter was just ok. The quiche and salad main was delicious. Prices are on high side and limited choice for veggies. I think they need to employ more staff on their busier times.
B. B.
After an initial mix up with our room booking, we went on to enjoy an excellent meal and drinks. Really good food, hot and well presented. Very pleasant staff. Would make return visits no problem.
D. 3.
Lovely food, reasonably priced and very attentive staff.
S. W.
Staff were all wearing PPE and were very informative. Food was ok, meat was amazing but the veg was poor. The carrot mash wasn’t seasoned and the parsnip wasn’t cooked, the leek wasn’t good either. I must state that the beef was very, very good. Yorkie and roast potatoes were good. Location wise i really like it and when its sunny its lovely.
I. L.
Really nice environment with good food.
s. m.
Surroundings are in keeping with the old hall era...very nice actually.. plenty to choose from the menu. I had a lovely meal and my husband was disappointed with his, I had cheese pie and hubby had sticky chicken.. he had to return his meal as it was cold...and he was served with a fresh portion ( hot ) and not the first meal he was served with. The staff were really helpful, polite and could not fault their service.. Would go back and try again..
P. D.
We were a party of twelve age range 2 to 58. The service was warm and friendly atmosphere the bar and during our meal in the restaurant. Everyone was very happy with their food, mains and deserts, no one had a starter. Would definitely recommend it. They had a good range of beers and gins pity I was driving.
k. r.
Excellent atmosphere food drink staff, all combine for a lovely place to catch up with friends and family
J. G.
Lovely place to visit, the staff are helpful and courteous. Plenty of parking and great views when the weather is nice. If you are just dropping in for a drink or bar food can get very busy as cant sit in the restaurant part unless having a meal.
P. C.
Beautiful location, pub and gardens that are dog-friendly. What more could you ask for? Service took a while when we were there. Food was nice but felt the fish and chips were a little greasy. The batter was crispy though so can't complain. The lamb and halloumi burger for me next time if its on the menu. Would definitely go here again!
S. H.
We had a lovely meal plus staff was very pleasant
M. W.
Set in nice surroundings in Worsley. Lovely outdoor seating area. Good food reasonably priced. Can be busy on a good summer's day. Would recommend booking for party's of 4 or more. Good selection of beers and wine, again reasonably priced. Probably the best value for money in the area.
P. D.
Great service great food. Little expensive
T. B.
Very enjoyable meal at a reasonable price in a terrific setting
A. H.
Amazing staff and great food. Mostly though can’t rate the staff highly enough they were superb during our visit
J. H.
My favourite go to for a relaxing afternoon after a hectic week...
Beautiful garden area 😍
Lovely staff 👌
Fabulous food 😋...
5💯%
M. S.
Been here a couple of times now, the location is great for kids as there is a large green space at the back with some swings and a tractor for them to play with.
Good selection of beer is available and you can order food from the bar area or restaurant but probably best to reserve a table as two of the three times we've been we were unable to get a place in the restaurant.
Food was good for the price, recommend the steak burger, tender and juicy!
K. T.
Welcoming and lovely food. Not cheap though.
J. S.
Food good. Staff very pleasant. Service a bit patchy.
D.
Nice food. Good Real Ale selection. Excellent attentive service from the waiting staff. Plenty of space. All very clean, including the toilets. A first class venue.
s. d.
Stunning venue and lovely staff I just feel it slightly lacks a bit of atmosphere. I would make use of the lovely fireplaces, the lovely lighting and play a little music
R.
Average food, one helpful member of staff out of about 8. Steak for 2 friends massively over done and hard to cut into, but fixed graciously. However everyone else had only a few mouthfuls of their meal left by the time the food came back out. Drinks served with completely wrong garnishes, had to ask a few times why some drinks were taking so long (it was a quiet monday). Not really impressed. Would go back for a drink in the garden if it was sunny, but wouldn't bother with a family birthday meal again. Didn't have a great experience, underwhelmed.
k. h.
This was my first time visiting Worsley Old Hall and it is a lovely place to visit, dog friendly too!
We had lunch and the food was great and big portions, good selection. Lots of car parking spaces available and family friendly!
Will be returning 😊
H.
Great atmosphere. This place makes you feel like you've driven far away even though it's just off a road in Worsley. The food and drink are reasonably priced and the food is lovely! Service here is also great and there's plenty of outdoor space to sit and eat or just have a drink in.
C. H.
First class the best Lamb I have ever tasted ,booked a table for our next visit
S. F.
A lovely, warm and welcoming pub. Food was excellent, I had roast beef dinner. All plates were cleared. The service was very good, not intrusive but knew about the food when asked. A good choice for a birthday meal.
P. B.
I love this place. Wonderful food, comfortable surroundings, great outside space, friendly staff. What more could you ask for.
B. B.
Lovely food. Ate outside but under cover. Staff were helpful. I will come back
C. B.
Good selection of beers and ample parking
R. T.
Fabulous place. Real old world charm. In summer it's a great place to drink and enjoy the sun in the garden (although it will be very busy on a sunny weekend). Or you can relax inside with real fires in the winter.
They have a good selection of drinks. Nice beers, wines, etc. There is a bar menu that's a cut above the pub and a restaurant. The restaurant offers a decent selection with the emphasis mainly on traditional British dishes.
A. C.
Really good venue for a meal, fantastic traditional surroundings and excellent food. Would recomend
S. H.
We have an amazing place here, everything is totally faultless, covid precautions are actually in place, for real, not just the usual lip service most places implement, the staff, food & just everything about the place are fantastic!
If you want somewhere to go that's friendly great quality in an impressive setting, this is the place
n. r.
Very nice old pub set back on land off the main road. Fresh home cooked food and even dogs are allowed in. Just s nice friendly experience to be had. Even nicer in the summer when you can sit out back!
D. W.
Big, grand but casual pub. Didn't try the booze but the food was excellent. My steak pudding was delicious. Friendly service. Quiet when we went for a late weekday lunch so atmosphere was relaxed.
P. H.
Very nice restaurant although a bit pricey. Staff very nice and efficient
D. T.
Stunning location, very relaxing. Great outdoor picnic tables for summer. Good selection of food and drinks. Can order at the bar and have it brought to your tables outside. Dogs welcome. Usually very busy as it's so hot a popular location. Parking on site too.
K. G. (.
Worsley Old Hall is a great place to go for a drink especially in the nice weather. The prices are reasonable and food is lovely. When it's nice they have an outdoor gazebo that serves BBQ and can vouch for the burgers! The outdoor area is huge with a fountain, outdoor seating and lots of places to sit or lay on the grass to catch some rays. There are also some swings for the kids...or for yourself if you want to recapture your youth!
K. C.
Hidden away just off the M60 motorway lies this hidden gem that looks picture perfect. It's spacious inside with seating for diners and seating at the bar area for the casual drink. The food is good if not a little pricey but it's worth it within the location. I will visit again, thanks.
J. A.
Spacious pub restaurant with good food and a selection of ales and lagers. Large outdoor area makes it a great spot to go to on a sunny day. Not owned by the Marriott, so don't get your booking confused like I did
W. M.
Great place to be
A great establishment with good food, beers, and above all friendly and helpful staff who give every impression of enjoying their jobs.
Ideal end point for walks from home via the nearby woods. Only criticism is lack of paved walkway from Walkden Road - dodging cars along road.
Range of seating areas, great atmosphere when busy, calming when quiet. All in all, a great place to be.
T. H.
I have been visiting WOH, for some time. The staff are amazing, Whitney, Cat, Kaz, Poppy, too many gems to mention all. (Sorry if I've missed you out. Not intentional. ). To me its like the "Cheers Bar" from the old TV series, "Everyone Knows your name". I would highly recommend a visit. From the impressive building frontage to the rear garden, fountain, outside barbecue - bar (weather permitting-Best in summer) The true heritage interior. And the bar is enormous. its a true treat for that special occasion, or pop in for a quick beer. Thank you WOH ..
L. H.
Worsley Old Hall is gorgeous. The building is beautiful and inside the decor is stunning and fitting for the style. There is a good selection of local beers - look up to the chalk boards when you walk in. It tells you how far to the brewery. There is bar food which looks lovely. The service is brilliant. There is a mixture of sofas and tables which gives it a good atmosphere. The food in the restaurant wasn't so great so stick to the bar.
c. g.
Amazing staff, lovely decor and atmosphere. Food was mainly delicious, slightly underdone pastry on the chicken pie, but would definitely go back and take the folks. Had an explore upstairs too and there's a lovely looking private dining room.
t.
Wonderful place. Good food.
J. W.
Really lovely setting, polite and helpful staff, excellent food. Allows well behaved dogs in the bar area and gardens :-)
I would definitely recommend it.
Open from 9am now, so I have regular one-to-one meetings here, as close to the motorway and easy for everyone to find.
C. M.
Food is great. Staff are wonderfully polite beer is nice.... Book a table... Dogs are welcome in the bar area which you can't book and fills up fast ont weekend.
A. M. M.
Worsley Old Hall is reached by a long drive passed a golf course. The façade a Tudor and brick manor house and I must say very beautiful. We sat outside on the stone terrace overlooking the manicured grounds. and ordered a steak sandwich with fries, followed by a small cream tea. The food was tasty and the staff pleasant. Would recommend.
D. W.
Great braised lamb. Good service and atmosphere.
K. A.
My family and I recently dined here to celebrate the birthday of my Son.
There was a slight mix-up regarding the balloons but Shaun managed to style it out (in his rather nice checked shirt lol).
We were served by two lovely young girls named Emily and Maud. Both were polite, friendly, professional and helpful.
The food was well-presented, good portion sizes, very tasty and not too over-priced.
The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, clean with a lively atmosphere.
There is easy and accessible parking.
We look forward to returning again in the near future
S. C.
Amazing food and service in a beautiful setting.
S. W.
Best pub for miles. Need to curb the dog owners a bit though. x
B. L.
Food good, staff very nice, service wasn't what I expected. We arrived at 12.15 for a family mothers day meal we waited 1 and half hours before our starters came, I had to go to ask someone how long it would be, then we had another long wait before our main meals came, again I asked how long we would gave to wait for our meal, finally left at 3.40 pm, lady who came to table think possibly manager gave us a discount because of how long we had waited, which was nice, obviously very short staffed which is a shame because waiting time spoiled which should have been a lovely time, like I said you couldn't fault food felt sorry for staff
l. l.
It's a lovely place, pretty gardens and location. Staff are a bit dismissive and the food is overpriced for what it is. Got amazing service when we went to the Marriott afterwards though, lovely friendly staff - one of us even got called ma'am. Same price for drinks there too 🤷 Hospitality costs nothing but makes a massive difference to your evening.
A. S.
Great food great service great location in what is a beautiful pub
J. B.
I have to be careful here because I know the Old Hall is very popular, especially with visitors to the area and the "Worsley Set." I lived up the road for over 25 years so I know this place well. I have to say I don't eat here often but when I have it's fair to say the food has been OK and the service in the restraunt is better than many. The bar area is always busy, at least when I go in. Accepting that this is an old building, trying to maintain it's character whilst providing a service that for me is compromised by the adjacent hotel, must have been difficult. On the plus side it has retained it:s original features which many others have photographed for you. Actually, a visit to the loo, at least in the ladies is a trip into the past...with all the mod cons of course. I must also praise the management for alliowing dogs into the bar. Not many places do these days. Not everyone will be happy with that but this is England and we love our dogs. Cosy it's not, despite the log fire. Noisy it is, partly because the bar area almost echoes. The separate restaurant is much quieter. The views from the restraunt are wonderful but yet I still can't get excited about the place. With the new RHS gardens opening less than a mile away, the Old Hall is guaranteed to continue to be a success, it's just not on my list of places I want to go to.
K. C.
Fantastic place. Lovely atmosphere. Although is was really busy, standards were kept high. Both food & service were superb. I will definitely return & also recommend to others.
m. k.
Great location to have a lunch or some evening drinks. Went on lunch from work and the staff were very friendly and the service very quick.
The food itself was nice enough but the fish finger sandwich, had barely any fish in and was more batter.
J. P. S.
Brilliant Country Pub and restaurant, great food, great beer . Fantastic service with lovely staff👍👍
D. C.
Went on a very busy day but we were served quickly and our orders for both food and drinks for 6 was all correct and meals hot. Would go again without a worry .Nice bright place but cosy in smaller areas.we sat in the Dining area but were not overlooked or crowded.
A.
Visited on a sunny Saturday afternoon. It's advisable to book a table, especially at the weekend. The staff are very good at what they do, always polite and efficient and attentive. The food is ok, I had burger which was quite dry and although I could have sent it back I decided not to. The deserts however are delicious. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of space for the kids to run around. Plenty of parking spaces too. Altogether I would recommend anyone to visit Worsley Old Hall.
D. B.
Can't fault the lovely staff they employ and location is second to none - what we do have a problem with is the poor food offering they dish out compared to their other outlets we usually frequent in the North West.
We used to eat here often but never nowadays! it's not exactly cheap either and with lots of new places opening up within the area they need to step up their game otherwise it will start to slip even further.
Great place to have a drink though and amazing beer garden in the summer with a BBQ at the weekends when the sun is out.
L. S.
Love that this place is dog friendly. That’s hard to find nowadays in the area unless you’re in the city centre. food and atmosphere is nice and reasonable priced, you get a lot! I came on my own and sat on a large table with 2 other parties and it was wonderful how we all conversed despite being complete strangers. People are very friendly and I love the community feel. I’ll always be back!
B. P.
Excellent organisation by the staff when we went yesterday for a light lunch. We enjoyed the food and the ambiance of this historic building.
J. D.
We booked their dining room for 8 people (a wedding party - but check with them as they worry about elaborate wedding dresses). No charge for the room; a deposit per head to book. Very good food and wine with a frequently-changed menu (which should be on Internet, here). Very good service. No complaints; excellent.
A few words about the building: outside, plenty of parking and well-cared-for lawns and walks, including a fountain with walk up to it. (We were amused by a sign prohibiting 'fountain frolicking'). Half-timbered style with ancient brickwork.
Inside: centrally-placed bar. Large rooms. Well-chosen interior pictures: not high art, but e.g. portraits of local eminent people in years gone by, depictions of industrial revolution events, interiors with clay-pipe smoking men and decorous ladies.
Relaxed, not vastly expensive, highly recommended. [Sept 2015]
R. C.
Really decent pub grub and great service
F. o.
Thank you for our very enjoyable Christmas dinner. The staff, food, service , room and price were v good. Many of us had either smaller portion mains or desserts and this turned out to be an excellent idea as we were an older crowd. You always come up trumps!!!!
c. a.
Beautiful place, very quiet andbthe food was freshly made from scratch. Definitely would recommend.
S. C.
Went one Sunday afternoon, it was really busy which meant a bit of a wait at the bar and the bar staff got our very simple order of gin and elderflower tonic wrong. They forgot the gin! The surroundings however are lovely and we sat outside on the grass in the sunshine.
C. R.
Amazing staff, beautiful venue and reasonable price. No shots though. Maybe for the best.
C. M.
My first visit and was so impressed. Really lovely tasty lunch. Family-friendly, I was surprised how many dogs were there, made a good informal atmosphere. I'd jump at the chance to go back.
R. L.
Great food. Great pub.
S. B.
Lovely and very busy but the staff thought it was quiet. Plenty of staff on who were extremely pleasant and professional x i sat watching the barista man doing his thing. Very mesmerising. The fish and chips looked devine.
T.
If you haven't visited this place since the new owners took it over then I'd suggest you take a look. The restoration work alone is enough to warrant a visit.
I recently visited for a birthday meal and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were also all very friendly and accommodating, especially around dietary requirements: on booking a table it was mentioned I would require a gluten-free diet; on arrival I was presented with a highlighted menu showing which dishes were suitable and which dishes could be altered to suit.
S. G.
Great place with lots of space, inside and out. Great for kids too. Sensibly priced and great staff.
S. G.
Lovely place. Great food and service. Dogs are allowed in the drinking only part of the hotel. Private dining rooms available for larger parties.
D. R.
Lovely long drive leads you to step back in time aa you enter Worsley Old Hall. Magnificent building, spacious and airy, central bar with welcoming staff. The food was excellent, well presented and well priced. Will be back soon.
S. B.
Wonderful food, lovely place but very, very crowded much of the time. Dogs allowed in bar area, but few tables in bar area that can't be booked. If you have a dog, they have a chart on their website showing their busiest times, avoid it when busy.
T. A.
Excellent service, lovely venue, fantastic food, good drinks!!!
A. A.
Very good service.Beautiful grounds, child friendly and quite unique "Staff are polite and helpful".
D. s.
Not our best visit - sorry !
We arrived about 4.15pm, so not a busy time.!!!
We were kept waiting for our main meal for over 40 minutes?? Staff looked at our empty plates but didn’t collect them?
We had a toddler with us , yes she got her meal with our starters - thank god albeit, that was wrong. She got bored waiting around for us to have anything else, so we paid and left.
Have to say the food was nice, just the timings were out of order!
Never been like this before and we have been many times. As previously stated it wasn’t a busy time!!
Have they new staff who can’t cope??
H. W.
Great location off the motorway to get to meet up for lunch. Food selection & service excellent. Advice to book in advance tho as I see they they get very busy at peak times & have to decline walk ins.
J. W.
Such a lovely place to visit on a sunny day ~ and it's not bad on a rainy day either! Decor is almost like a gentleman's club; all wood panelling and traditional artwork on the walls.
Good place to go for eats or drinks with good beers such as Timothy Taylors on draught. Food is not cheap, expect to pay £14 for a main course but then you are paying for the ambience too; not just the food on the plate.
Dogs are allowed in the bar so ideal if you fancy a pint when you should be out 'walkies'! 😊
M. h.
Very helpful staff, lovely surroundings, good food and large range of drinks x
B. K.
Now a long way from the chain that had it before!
A 17th century hall serving an awesome array of real ales and some superb food. A little pricey for the amount of beef on the Sunday lunch but excellent veg.
Polite, well-trained and very professional staff are a credit to the place.
Will be revisiting later in the year.
B. A.
Fantstic service and food. Brilliant.
T. D.
A nice, friendly & well laid out venue.
The main courses were excellent & perfectly cooked (though the duck comes with vegetables yet they weren't listed so I ordered an unnecessary side dish).
The dessert of bread & butter pudding with apricot sauce was ok but ultimately disappointing. The bread & butter part was lovely but it had whole rehydrated dried apricots in! This spoiled it IMHO - far better to have a simple, traditional, rich & indulgent pudding with a lovely, sharp sauce to top it off amd cut through the sweetness. The sauce was good, if a little sweet & not sharp enough. It was also served with a ball of solid extra thick cream - ice-cream would have been better IMHO.
P. E.
Love this place, good for people with kids with excellent parking. The food is good quality and fresh. Excellent range of ales including porters and stouts which is always a good way to see if a place knows their ales.
P. D.
Had a lovely lunch. We were given a table in a quiet corner as requested
Staff were very polite and attentive. Delicious food
P. M.
Good tasting food, and a great selection of drinks, but the table service let it down. Food was slow to come out, despite ordering in advance from the Christmas set menu; bill was wrong as deposit hadn't been deducted; and we never did get our jug of tap water, despite asking for it several times.
C. S.
Wonderful ambiance, efficient staff, great food and cocktails.
P. C.
Great setting, spacious and well kept interior. Fantastic garden area where dogs are welcome. Food was quite good, a bit on the pricy side. Service was a little let down, hence only 4 stars.
J. H.
Can I just say that our small team celebrated Christmas works ‘do’ at worsley old hall Friday 14 December 18 and it was outstanding. We had the small private function room. Oustanding service from all especially our server for the evening-Jonathan. Food was exceptional. Thank you very much.
m. k.
Having being a local of the worsley old hall for 20 years, i have seen it go through many changes and different styles, at the present moment its is at unbelievable standard in both Service, food and drink . The ambience is perfect for a nice drink by the fire places with friends and a wonderful meal with the family. The new management is excelling in making you feel comfortable and ensuring your experience is friendly and warming , the way a local pub should feel. Set in the grounds of the Worsley Marriott hotel and country club , the Worsley old hall boasts some spectacular views and gardens. I would highly recommend this establishment to people from all walks of life and a big shout out to the the Manager for his impeccable service and standards.
G. D. G.
Perfect for couples and families to hang out during the day or for date night. Friendly staff, good space between diners if you're worried about the social distancing.
S. A.
Old world charm at it's finest! Fantastic food and great prices! Wanna bring your dog? No problem. Wonderful grounds and atmosphere.

Near perfect service, food amazing, drinks well made. Well looked after. Set in beautiful surroundings, can't wait for summer.
Recommend if you're in the area

Lovely setting great food & service. Portions very generous.

Love this place. The food, beer and setting are all great. You might struggle to get a parking space and will definitely struggle to find a picnic table in the garden if it's a nice day but it's worth chancing it.

Second time I'm this place and both times the food took over 50min to arrive (today it's taken over an hour). Both times it was heaving, so the wait itself was somewhat acceptable but the wait should've been pointed out at the time of order. After those long waits, both times the food was luke warm. For the price and ridiculous wait, not really acceptable. Only reason for three stars is the staff who work so hard and the beautiful estate. Not sure if I'll come back a third time.

A very popular venue in the heart of Worsley. Family and dog friendly, real fires, great food from a varied menu. Great range of real ales, wine and gins all served by friendly and attentive staff.

A beautiful period style pub, excellent menu and choice of drinks - the Guinness was good! Beautiful surroundings and a fantastic outdoor area for young and old alike to explore!
R. S.
Nice looking establishment - particularly in the summer when you're sat outside (provided you don't mind wasps). Ale quality is generally good if a bit pricey. Untappd average 3.3

Nice food. Really nice staff. Friendly and helpful.
M. M.
Very nice meal, friendly staff, great location and beautiful building and grounds.

Felt very covid secure, great food and service, and dog friendly to boot! I can also recommend the walk posted on the website for before or after your meal!

Lovely place staff very good and good service

Great food, as always, and really well organised with hand sanitiser, spacing between tables etc. The fish pie is highly recommended!

Absolutely beautiful place. Fantastic food and great service

I live quite close to this place but I love coming in the summer. They have an outside BBQ set up around the back of the pub in a large garden with plenty of tables.
The food here is great and the staff are very friendly. Ideal for families.

What an excellent afternoon had in beautiful environment. Staff were exceptional - pleasant friendly and very helpful. But mostly the food was beautiful. Excellent venue. Try it.

I call in here for breakfast sometimes because its serves breakfast from 10am-12pm which I think is ideal. The full English I have is wow the best I recommend the breakfast and other food. The service is excellent.
T. B.
Lovely building and nice staff. Slightly pretentious clientele at times. Food is good but expensive, changing cask ales are usually good and looked after. Very good for a local pub.
J. F.
Very nice, country style pub. Great food. Can get very busy but is spread out enough to not feel packed
R. B.
Belongs to a small chain along with the Wharf in town. Nice food, reasonable selection of beers. Lovely beer garden with play area.
B. P.
Lovely atmosphere and food. Kids love the resident tractor!

Ordered "click and collect" but due to an emergency I could not collect my food......ONE OF THEIR BRILLIANT STAFF DELIVERED IT......What great service and the food was delicious. xxxxx Excellent service and food xxxxx
A. A.
Live the atmosphere, people, food. Everything is amazing x
S. B.
Lovely food and there is a good selection of real ale behind the bar. Staff could do with a bit of training though, eg serving a bottle of wine at the table and not bringing wine glasses until asked.
A. l.
Ok pup food, clean friendly environment. Large garden area to sit relax and have a beer n bite to eat. Not the cheapest for the same good else where. Not the best tasting food u can buy for lesser money. Just an Ok pup
B. M.
Wonderful place to enjoy good home made food! 🤩 Dogs are welcome! 🙂 Very beautiful walks around the Worsley Hall too!
G. H.
Nice looking pub, good beer, lovely setting and beer garden. BUT the food is terrible. I think the chef has talents, but the ingredients are awful. i.e. the foccacia bread I was served was clearly from a bulk buy plastic bag, pre sliced, like a burger bun. Yuk. Same all over. For the price I'd expect much, much better. I'd star it much lower but the beer is good.

Lovely staff, helped us get a table to sit and eat with our dog. Nice Sunday roast. Lovely atmosphere and grounds.
E. H.
Very nice place, waiter service, decent choices menu, enjoyed the food, slightly more expensive than other pub grubs, but not much, good selection of beers, spirits, wine, recommended
M. W.
We visit regularly but especially enjoyed our late lunch on Monday 26th. All our food was delicious and the service was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend.

Went for a meal with friends followed by a work catch-up.
Lovely building and grounds. Staff friendly, food good, service efficient.
Nice large bar room.

Yes, it was a busy weekend. But management knew in advance. No real organisation in serving or ensuring customers were looked after. Poor training, attitude, planning and staff levels were clear. Beautiful setting, and has potential if realised by management.

My new favourite place to eat and drink

Brunting and Price pubs are always great. I love them. Didn't give five stars as waited a while for food.
C. M.
Always had a marvellous experience, and yes its busy on weekends which can only be expected but the atmosphere and staff are always friendly. If you want an evening meal make sure you call ahead and book a few days in advance
J. R.
VLovely place: wood paneling, leather high-backed chairs in groups, good spacing between dining tables. On negative side, disabled toilet poorly located and no herb teas when I visited.
G. B.
Beautiful building with lots of seating inside and out. Pretty grounds. Good selection on food menu. Toilets are bigger than many people's living rooms!
B. K.

Wonderful food, people and atmosphere!
We'd taken friends from New Zealand & South Africa, to experience the delights and, history of 'Worsley Old Hall" and, we were not disappointed!
S. Y.
Great place to have a drink and a bite to eat. Especially summer time in the ample grounds. Serene setting, and a lovely building. Reasonably priced drinks. Given the venue.
S. M.
Must say, great service and attention from the staff, and everyone had really good food.
C. L.
Very enjoyable lunch. Good service and food. Everyone adhering to social distancing and wearing face masks.
S. M.
Just lunch here. My companion and I had the small portion lunches, fish & chips and bangers & mash. Plenty for a lunch sized portion. Lovely ambience.

Always great food and drink in super cosy setting
I. G.
Very pleasant surroundings and old hall building. Happy and efficient staff, would highly recommend.
A. W.
Such a nice place to take the kids when the weather's nice. They can run about chasing footballs or fight over who's sitting on the tractor, whilst you sink 2 pints.
L. B.
Excellent service and lovely food
J. G.

K. M.
Great food ideal location for meeting up with old friends.
R. R.
Good ale (Brindley Blonde), it's a bit pricey, good food, nice cozy pub with real wood fires and plenty of space. I would prefer a larger bar area to than the 2 restaurant sections.
R. S.
Great setting, even better food, and beer to pass the time away
T. L.
Nice old building. First time in the restaurant, I have been in the banquet hall many years ago.
Food was good. Company was fab.
Will definitely go again.

Lovely feel. Cosy. The food is nice too
C. C.
The place looks great and I love I can take my dog with me there! Staff is very friendly and nice. Food was good too!
A. M.
always good food, and great gin. Although the service is not that good as there are quite a big number of young people who aren't quite sure what they're doing, but that's mainly in the summer, in the winter it's actually ok.
S. K.
Had Sunday lunch. Service impeccable. We were told in advance that things were running late, no problem as we were enjoying ourselves. The food was good, plenty and severed well.
M. D.
Great pub.food's good and staff are great.

E. W.
Love this place. The surroundings, the food and you can take dogs in the bar area. Great in summer as lots of outdoor seating.
D. C.
Lovely setting and a repeat visit - first time we had brilliant service, but second time there was a 40 minute wait between starter and main. Expensive as well.
G. C.
Went for breakfast the back of the hall outside is beautiful with an open space for the children to play there is also a small park which is in view of the garden seating area, the food was ok but not what I would have expected for the price
