Yes lovely pub the only place that would let you have a family gathering on a Saturday with laid on food for all the guests with reserved tables out side. Well done to the staff as they had their usual crowd in as well. Craig

My first visit to Halleys for a couple of years. I walked in to see Anna's beautiful smile. Really impressed that she not only remembered me, but also recalled my name and drink of choice!! The pub looks excellent since the refurbishment and the welcome tops it off. I cannot recall the last time I recommended a pub as a great place to visit, but I feel that Halleys Comet is really worth a recommendation. It might be your first time here but everyone makes you feel welcome and you will really enjoy the new experience. If I was to mark the new Halleys out of ten then j would give it a ten. I believe that with Anna at the helm I will still be giving it a ten in years to come. We'll done Anna, you have turned it round. I only have one request. Keep giving me that beautiful smile when I walk through the door. It is priceless. A number of months later and it is still improving. For an excellent night out, come to the pub on a Thursday night for something called Disco Bingo. Yes, it is bingo played to pop songs throughout the years, and it's great fun.

I can’t fault the staff and management in this pub, they are so welcoming and accommodating, I highly recommend this pub to anyone who hasn’t been. The food is fantastic and there is so much choice on the menu as well.

The pub is really nice, very friendly even when busy, food was truly very good and generous. The place is really at least 4 to maybe 5 starts. HOWEVER, we were there for Karaoke night and that was really terrible. Supposedly starting at 8pm a completely annoyed KJ explained that its to hot for him to stay now. He played a bit of music then, but no micwork, no inviting words, a song, anything. At about 10pm slowly a few people sang, the mics were without any real arrangements, the sound pointed away from the singers spot, so the singers never hear themselves and rather belt into the mics due to no feedback from any loudspeaker. Shortly before 11pm he had cable issues he couldn't fix and again played only some music. Not doing this again for sure, cant recommend this karaoke at all, the worst I have been to.

Popped in today for the first time, lively pub with the football on so pretty busy. Really nice friendly happy staff. The food was really good and decent portions, our only gripe was the time waiting for it (an hour and a quarter) but we were told that they was having trouble with one of the burners in the kitchen so fair enough. This would have been 5* rating otherwise. The lady did offer us free drinks & a dessert by way of apology which was good of her. If we was passing by again we'd definitely stop in again.

It is a great venue to be at. Nice pleasant environment. It has a nice big enclosed garden for the kids to play. The food is great and great customer service.
