Reviews of Swan Inn, MK

I was taken here today for a surprise Father's Day treat with all of my children and I can say it was a wonderful experience for many reasons. The place is appealing as you approach it with plenty of parking and visible outside seating. We received a beautiful welcome from the team and were very quickly seated and drinks ordered.
It is clearly a very well maintained building as the beams in the pub are a lovely colour. For those over 6ft, prepare to duck a lot.
Onto the food, which was just amazing. I am normally a big eater but could only manage a main and a dessert. They were great portions and they food was bursting with flavour. It's also not often I've been somewhere who can actually make cornbread to a good standard and serve it as part of a meal. Loved that. The dessert was scrum diddly umptious. Everyone who sat round the table fully enjoyed their meals. We were also able to have a laugh and joke about without feeling like we were being watched or going to get asked to quieten down. I loved the atmosphere, loved that I felt welcome, and loved the food. A very well run place. Thank you for a wonderful day.

it's been a while since I was here. Went there for family Sunday lunch at 3pm. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and location, just as I remembered it. Our starters were ok, the beat was the Honey Glazed Pork Belly. I wassnet to keen on my Roast. Meat was very nice and tender, potatoes we're cooked nicely, gravy was very tasty but I have to say the yourkshires were too dark and vegetables were over cooked and looked a bit old. As I have said before, we all have different tastes buds, so you will have to try it out for yourselves

I wanted to eat at a pub, somewhere with a traditional pub feel to it. The Swan Inn was a good choice for me and my friend. We decided to sit outside as the weather was nice so we didn't experience much of the atmosphere after all, but it seems a very pleasant place indoors.
The food and drink was very good quality if a little expensive, but I don't mind paying more for a good experience, which this was. It was quiet when I went so the service was good, although when eating outside you have to order at the bar.
Overall I left feeling happy.

The roast absolutely bangs! The beef was so succulent and tender, it just melted in my mouth. The roast potatoes were perfect, nice and crispy on the exterior and soft and fluffy inside. The star of the show for me though, was the gaint yorkie! As you can see from the photo 😋😋😋
Y. L.
Nice pub. Has some tables on the front and a big open space on the back for casual drinks or dinner. The inside restaurant is nicely decorated. They allow dogs in the garden as we saw few locals coming in with theirs.
Food was very nice and we were served a very decent portion. We order gnocchi with prawns and pork belly with potatoes.
Staff was very friendly.
A little expensive, but is worth it.
Will come back.

5 stars all the way. Perfectly cooked Beef Wellington that was on special! Excellent mains and starters, service and atmosphere. We will be back.

We came here for lunch on Tuesday and had such a lovely experience! I ordered the rainbow salad, my sister had the chicken gnocchi, my aunt had the fish and chips and my mum had the mezze starter. We shared halloumi fries, sweet potato fries and the bread and oil.
My aunt said that after her meal, this is her new favourite restaurant, my sister described the gnocchi as one of her best food experiences!
The rainbow salad was fresh but a little bland, I put some hot sauce on mine to add to the flavour.
I couldn't fault the service if I tried! We sat outside and ended up with a wasp or two around our table (note: if sitting outside in the summer, don't buy a sweet drink!) and the staff helped us by lighting candles to deter them. They also extended our table to make room for all the food we ordered. I know the restaurant is under new management - I believe we met two managers or supervisors as well as our server, and they were all so lovely and welcoming to us!
Would definitely suggest eating at this restaurant, I wouldn't honestly recommend the salads unless your dietary requirements limit what else you can have on the menu, though. Will for sure by trying the gnocchi without chicken next time!

This place is a real gem. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and a menu that is high quality and interesting while remaining accessible - fancy enough to feel really special, but you can always get a burger or fish and chips if you prefer, and know that they'll be really good. It's a place we always bring visitors from out of town, especially vegetarian friends as they always offer a wide range of good vegetarian options.

We booked the snug for my engagement celebration. It was a lovely set- up and the staff were really helpful in helping me set-up decorations and making sure the room looked nice. The room is a good size for a medium size group, 20-30 people. The pub itself is lovely and cosy. Would definitely recommend.

Had an evening meal here
Food was fantastic!
Waitresses are very friendly
Large well-maintained carpark at the side of the restaurant
Will be back
J. M.
Really lovely meal, piping hot and freshly cooked.
There were 11 of us having a family reunion, so not always easy to cook for a big party.
The waitress was excellent. Thank you for that.

Quite simply stunning, I moved to MK over a year ago and everyone who I met was telling me to try out The Swan Inn so on Friday we did. The food is amazing, the staff are both friendly and polite.
The steak is as good as what I've eaten at 'CUT at 45 Park Lane' and the Pie is also great. Next we need to try the Sunday Roast cannot wait.
M. N.
Great venue for events.
We had a very good experience with the staff and found them to be very helpful.
The Garden Room is a lovely relaxed space and feels private.
There are doors to the room that can be closed to separate the room from the rest of the restaurant.
The room opens into the garden. Despite being in the middle of Autumn it was nice to have the door open for a while for airflow and guests appreciated the outdoor space.
The staff were happy for us to move tables and chairs around to fit what we needed in the space.
There is an electric socket in the garden room for equipment (e.g. microphone or projector).
The room can also provide a tea and coffee station.
Brilliant for a networking event or a quiz.

Lovely place for a family meal celebrating a birthday. The team at the Swan were very helpful, looked after us well, the food was good, as described and well cooked. (The ribs is a big serving!) Wifi available, ample parking, including disabled parking. Good location.

1st time at the Swan Inn, MK, was impressed with the interior look.
We had a late lunch and there was a good variable menu, the food was brought by a very friendly and polite young lady (don't know her name but she is Polish) and we all said how very tasty the food was.
Will definitely return.
J. K.
Inside, it was bigger than I thought.
Nice place to have dinner.
s. s.
Best roast in MK period! The chicken didn’t realise you could improve it but the version today was even better so much flavour, loved our meal today, top chefs, top service and such a cosy pub. Must visit!
T. A.
Revisited after 4 years and I'm pleased to say they have maintained their high standards of food and service. Sunday menu roast options particularly recommended
C. S.
Great gastro pub in MK village. Good food, pleasant service and it's fresh so they can cater for allergies.
Tables are easy to use with a wheelchair.
Pleasant walks nearby.
S. K.
Great Pub with lovely food. Super customer service and nice eatery environment. Dog friendly too.
I’ve been 3 times here and on all 3 occasions the food has been great. Can dine outside on summer days. Free parking along the side of the Pub. I’d highly recommend the restaurant.
There’s a small choice for vegetarians but still decent options. Nice location and ambience.
M. H.
Lovely sunday lunch and staff wonderful. Ample parking too. Will definitely be returning soon.

Always a favourite of mine and my dog, Daisy. She knows the route here better than I do. Nice to be able to walk to a dog friendly pub these days as Daisy does benefit from the exercise.
D. B.
Stopped off for a sunday lunch before heading to the coach station, had the beef roast and my friend had the creamy pasta. Both delicious, staff were lovely and friendly and the place seemed very clean.
Only gripe was that as a northerner, I want my roast to come with loads of gravy, and extra in a hug too. So if you like gravy, remember to ask for extra
L. M.
Had a lovely lunchtime fish and chips there with a friend. Just the right size so you didn't feel stuffed for the rest of the afternoon. The bar area is in the thatched building at the front we were seated in the modern bit at the back which is light and airy and overlooks the gardens
E. P.
Great, classic pub with a great modern dining area. We were lucky to get the table by the fire in the bar. Friendly staff and a good menu, the food was excellent.
A. B.
We took my father for lunch and it was absolutely delightful. We sat in the sunny courtyard sipping wine whilst nibbling olives and bread awaiting our succulent steaks with veg and the best chips I've had in years, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Couldn't fault the service and the food was delicious.
H. D.
Had a wake booked here and couldn't have asked for better service. Truly a fantastic team that went above and beyond the care we recieved. Their attention to detail was amazing and they were all very thoughtful. Excellent pricing and value for what we paid.
J. M.
Iconic place in the area, lovely service and good meat. We took some grilled meat, all was good, especially steak.
P. M.
lovely village pub hidden in Old Milton Keynes. Good parking, nice outdoor garden, big choice of drinks and something for everyone on the menu. Will definitely be returning.
S. P.
Village Pub in MK. Excellent building with character. Lot of room for Lunch and dinner. Ample parking. Good staff.
D. N. K.
I booked a lunch table for 14. The staff were very helpful through the whole process. Good restaurant, service and food. I would book here again next time I am in MK.
C. L.
Good parking and outdoor seating area. Food was ok. My risotto was well cooked but the market fish turned out to be mackerel, not my favourite. Had a ham hock terrine to start and a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream to finish. All washed down with some London stout. Paid around 28£ for just the meal.
J. B.
Pleasant staff and nice environment. We didn't eat this time but i have been dissapointed over gluten free before and the menu is similar.
Hi Venue thanks for asking. So: main courses only beef (steak or burger) and the vegan gumbo are available gluten free. When I last ate with you staff were not clued up and one of these options was not available. I had steak. Deserts: only posset and ice cream are gluten free.
At almost every restaurant I eat at (I eat out a lot) the steak and ice cream used to be what I could eat and it got very dull! Recently most restaurants have at least a couple of different GF options. Fish and chips is becoming more common but without any effort a simple chicken dish, any curry, pork chop, lamb shank etc could be available. Even the caesar salad could be easily made GF. Similarly Eton mess, profiteroles, fruit salad(!) are often available GF these days and only offering ice cream or posset is just lazy. BTW please do not add GF chocolate brownie as that is also almost universally available now, but never that great!
Please note, other readers, that I gave my visit four stars. This is a good place, well worth a visit. it could just be better for me and others on GF diets with a bit of effort, so I try to encourage them..

Lovely place for our evening meal, great food and variety. Staff very attentive...
J. S.
Really nice pub, excellent food. They were very busy at lunchtime so there was a bit of a wait but we were not in a rush.
T. A.
Love this place. Delicious food, friendly staff and great atmosphere.
M. S.
It was OK... I ordered a drink before being seated at our table and found the female working behind the bar very abrupt and not very friendly. It doesn't say anything about having different menus on different days so I was really looking forward to some of the dishes that are not on the "Sunday menu".
Food was lukewarm at best. But the guy who served us was lovely tho!
S. T.
We had a big family meal for 57 at The Swan on Saturday afternoon. The food was excellent and the staff were brilliant. Even the steaks were all cooked exactly as requested by each person! It's a place we love to eat as a couple and the quality of food and service was just as good for a big group 😄
J. W.
Food very tasty and reasonable. Lovely atmosphere. Staff very helpful even though very busy.
m. t.
Great place to eat..
Very relaxed dining.
Amazing Sunday dinner…
A.
Great food, beautiful atmosphere and very friendly staff. Had to wait for a while for the food as it was busy but worth it as it was freshly made and the staff were very helpful despite being busy. Would definitely recommend.
M. T.
Having stayed in Milton Keynes for a concert we were told about this place, and it didn't disappoint fantastic service, quality beers, all in all a great experience
C. G.
We chose The Swan Inn to celebrate our first eat out experience with our close friends in 2 years! We enjoyed brilliant food, the Sunday roasts did not disappoint. The staff, welcoming, attentive and did not rush us. The atmosphere, delightful surroundings and decor made for a memorable lunch. We shall be back. What a gem of a place. Thank you for making our lunch extra special. 😋
O. D.
Liked the old pub. Nice menu but steer clear of the tough roast beef. Smoked duck very good if a little scarce.
C. B.
We visited for a family meal 12/02 and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Our food was all served at the same time for all 13 of us and all agree it was delicious. We would definitely book again. Thank you for having us!
T. S.
Top quality food. Ambience lovely. A real favourite of ours. We all love it. The lamb was to die for!
A. S.
My roast chicken was super yummy
D. J.
Took too long for drinks to be ordered when we got to the table. Food was okay but not the usual high standard from previous visits, the duck in filo parcels was slightly over cooked and the soy and honey pork belly didn't have the breadth and depth of flavour I expected for a dish like that.
S. L. H.
The best pub in Milton Keynes "Village". We love the lovely garden and great staff look after us. Thank you
M. S.
Good food, though served on white bread instead of brown by new waitress.
J. M.
Lovely interior and exterior seating, good wine and beer choices available, food is also excellent.
M. N.
The serving staff were a delight. Food was good.
C. R.
We came to Swan Inn at Milton Keynes Village for a staff Christmas Dinner. Inside the pub is very cosy and the Christmas decorations gave a great atmosphere. Everything went really smoothly and the service was fantastic with great friendly staff. Puddings were superb, real comfort food like the chocolate bread and butter pudding with ice cream. Main courses were OK, there was some rather strange cabbage and onion as vegetables so nothing green and the duck was a bit tough. Generally, for such an occasion though, I thoroughly recommend it.
A. M.
Food was excellent and really well priced for the quality. The service was also brilliant. I will definitely be returning.
L. R.
Food is very good and staff is super friendly, going above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant experience.
N. A.
Just had a delicious roast dinner.
Good value for money.
Service was great 👍 thanks
M. L.
Tandoori cauliflower dish not only tasted great it looked great too. Excellent choice to suit all diets, allergies, etc..
D. S.
Just so good. Only a fee dishes but wow - delicious, and just the nicest people who run it. Best food in Ronda. Artichoke with pil pil prawns. Amazing.
J. K.
Great place for a drink, nice garden. Unfortunately food - disappointing, not freshly made, re heated, salted gravey from granules. Nothing fresh. Sad. I was not well for 24h.
B. B.
Love this pub. Very friendly staff. Dog friendly too which is a bonus
M. C.
First time there in a few years and it was absolutely fabulous. Great food and a lovely atmosphere.
I. Y.
Thanks God for the gastropubs.
You can now enjoy excellent food and service when you are away from home. Also, it looks like local are enjoying this one too 👍
R.
Food was great; Everyone enjoyed their dishes. 3 stars is for the service - luke warm at best and it doesn't hurt to smile.
S. M.
Lovely food, interesting menu makes a change, nice setting compared to other eateries in Milton Keynes.
A. D.
Had an amazing roast! The pork belly & veg was cooked to perfection with super crispy crackling. Great service on the day and will be back again!
M. S.
Great food, brilliant waitress and good beer. Only thing I would ask next time is a little less ice in the wife's gNt. Wife had stew and dumplings and I have the seafood risotto both were perfect.
W. B.
It's a very nice pub that does a reasonable Sunday lunch, if a little pricey for what's on offer. The turkey and pork was good, the sides all nicely done, though the beef rump wasn't the best I've had - cooked pink but not quite a tender enough a joint for this to work well. Perhaps an off Sunday, but I'd far rather they slow-cooked the beef if they don't manage to get a joint of the quality needed to be tender and tasty cooked rare. Still a good meal overall though, and very good quality kids food (burgers and nuggets, but done very well with good meat).
R. W.
Really lovely food & cocktails. Great night. Signing up to their newsletter will also get you a free main.
P. A.
Lovely pub, great people, friendly helpful staff, a delightful venue to play.
R. A.
Nicr pub reasonably priced good food but limited menu.
B. H.
Lovely pub, very pretty building
Staff are all fantastic.
t. b.
Lovely pub, with fancy food in little village setting in the heart of the Milton Keynes metropolis.
M. B.
The main courses were cold and mine and my daughter in law's had to be sent back. They did take our meals off the bill. Such a shame because when they came back they were lovely. I think they were cooked too early and left to stand while we had our starters. For the money we paid it was not good.
v. b.
First time I've been here. Beautiful building, staff very attentive and never left waiting. Prices mid range but definitely worth every penny. Quality of food was top rate. I don't live nearby but would definitely visit again when I'm in the area
J. L.
Really cool place to visit!
Lovely ladies keeping smile on their faces all the time!
c.
Food was good but service was lacking. Unable to connect to their ordering app so had to rely on the waiting staff - too few of them to deal with everyone in the garden. We had our booking for 2 hours (which would normally be plenty) but we overran and it took 3 hours for 2 courses and drinks. Shame because the food was lovely.
C. H.
Nice environment, quite a quaint pub with large eating area. The meal we had here on a reasonably busy Saturday night was good but not memorable.
J. Y.
Absolutely amazing Sunday Lunch , food was fresh and piping hot , the tempura prawn starter was the best starter I have ever had . The waitress Ella obviously knew what she was doing , as soon as we sat down we where offered a drink talked us through the Menu .It was a breath of fresh air to go somewhere , where you don’t have to wait ages to be offered a drink and to be served in a quick efficient time .Thank you Swan we will be back soon .
A. W.
Great food, friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Would recommend.
H. H.
Superb food and drink. Never disappoints. Country pub atmosphere and helpful staff.
J. E.
Had Sunday lunch here with the family plus my father in law. Great location, lovely garden and terrace area and easily accessible for those with mobility issues. Attentive and speedy service by the young staff plus the best roast beef lunch - with all the trimmings - I have had in many years. Beef melted in the mouth and was cooked to perfection! Bravo and thanks to all the crew at The Swan Inn. Highly recommended.
N. M.
Fabulous evening celebrating my Husband’s Birthday, The Staff are lovely, always can’t do enough for us thank you all and food was delicious as always our favourite pub
J. W.
Fabulous lunch!
Great atmosphere.
Brilliant service. The staff were welcoming and helpful.
The food was both delicious and beautifully presented.
I would recommend a visit.
C. M.
Lovely old pub, great stopping place for a drink, did not eat but the menu looked good. Plenty of space, car parking in front.
S. B.
Food good: ribs, lamb and burgers all good
.. Enjoyed the great summer weather on the lawn
J. S.
Very Nice!
Celebrated our Anniversary here on a Friday evening.
We arrived a bit early for our table, but were seated immediately and from the onset the girls who waited on our table were very attentive.
The food was delicious and the service was spot on, and any requests we had were dealt with immediately, in a pleasant and friendly manner.
The atmosphere was warm and vibrant, and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Swan.
L. M.
I think the variety of options in the menu and the quality of the food has declined recently. It used to be my favourite pub but it is not anymore. Staff is brilliant, but restaurant is not as good as before.
S. R.
I really like the food served here. We ate here for a birthday lunch celebration. The weather was extremely hot on the day and unfortunately there is no air conditioning. The doors to the garden were open and this gave us some relief with an occasional breeze. Quality of the food was excellent and the staff were very attentive to our needs. The prices are fair. I plan to eat here again in the future as it is one of my favourite places to dine.
M. R.
Food was nice, good size portions. Absolutely loved the duck confit spring wrap. But oh my word, the service was soooo slow!
R. t. B.
Sunday 9th May 3pm table 208 - From walking through the door you felt welcome lovely manager, wife forgot her mask this wasn't a problem as they had handed her one at the door. We've eaten a few times out since we've been allowed too at different places, this was by far the best! Waitress was lovely and the food was amazing!!! Pork belly bites with Chimichurri 10/10 then i had the ribs 10/10 the chips???? how on earth do you make them so good! Wife had the Beef roast and she was bown away, thank you! can't wait to come back.
Z. S.
We've been to have a dinner and the food was excellent.
Very helpful owner and well trained staff.
A true pleasure.
S. B.
Excellent food, however the service can be a little slow when it gets particularly busy. Good nod to seasonal produce and menus to fit most tastes. Decent but not exceptional beer selection, however again this is more than enough to suit most palates. Highly recommended for a good lunch after a wall round the lake.
s. c.
A very lovely place to go and enjoy a beer :)
J. W.
A great pub with a large garden hidden away in Milton Keynes village.
A. J.
We had a truly wonderful evening; the food was simply superb, also the server was simply delightful and both she and the other staff were clearly very anxious to please us.
A. C.
Nice little hidden gem! Good range of food and drinks. Was a bit cold and heating wasn't on but otherwise will go back!
L. N.
Enjoyed coming here before covid as the food was always nice and the place always looked
nice so myself and a friend chose to revisit last night.
Again food was good nothing amazing just nice pub food and still looked nice however something occurred which has never happened to me before and has put me off ever going again!!
We arrived and I had selected a table under the marquee as the weather has been so nice, the waiter showed us out and asked which table we would like to sit at. We chose a table in the corner which had padded seating and would be half in the sun which had patrons sitting to either side of it. As we walked forward and had half sat down the waiter then suddenly said ‘oh sorry this has already been booked you can’t sit here.’
Dumbfounded I said ‘sorry I booked a table under the marquee and that’s where we are so I don’t understand’ surely you can’t book a specific table via the website as there was no option for this when I booked earlier.
To our shock he proceeded to check with a manger and said yes that table had been booked so we would have to sit in a different place. We knew this was b******t but tbh I didn’t want to make a scene in the middle of people eating so we chose another table.
No one proceeded to sit at the table we asked to be placed on however all the waiters over the course of the evening continued to laugh and joke with the patrons on either side of it which made us feel that we had simply been moved on so as not to upset the ‘regulars’ after that it felt like a very clicky pub and not somewhere either of us wanted to be.
When we asked for the bill I told a different waitress about what had gone on, ‘oh I’m sorry you could of sat there as it’s empty’
‘Yes I know that but we were told it has been booked so we aren’t just going to go sit there anyway and look like idiots’
‘Oh so sorry about that’
Every customer should be treated the same and can defo say it has made me never want to return and would defo not recommend
A. D.
Great food and wine in a contemporary dining room, attached to a lovely traditional old pub. Good service. We really enjoyed the venison lasagna although it was a little salty. Usually excellent, I've dined here many times before and only once had a poor meal due to staff shortages; they didn't charge us for the food. Recommended for a romantic evening
L. N.
Beautiful apartment very clean quiet great sleep gorgeous area definitely booking again x
Y. G.
The swan Inn is a great choice for dining out. The place is quite spacious with plenty of room between the tables.
We were sitting close to the open kitchen, interesting to watch the action, it was quite busy and the chef's seems very professional and organized.
Service is sweet and casual enough to make you feel comfortable but attentive and quick.
My Risotto was very tasty, the bitter was perfect and so was my companion :)
A. T.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Lovely village pub, really cozy with a menu that has something for every taste. A must visit for anyone in MK.
L. S.
Fantastic food here, and service too. Really enjoyed the meal each time I've been. Great drinks offerings, and the menu is different enough to entice you without being too off the wall. Look forward to visiting again soon
T. R.
Beautiful pub in a very nice location, with garden and lovely food
E. G. C.
Staff were polite but very busy. Food arrived promptly and was tasty. Puddings are a nice size serving after a main course. Covid precautions are in place. Had a lovely time. Will go back.
S. K.
Great Sunday lunch! Very well put together with tender lamb and good, crispy roasties. Also had a starter; the venison scotch egg which you must try. It was delicious. Sunday lunch for two, with starters and a couple of beers and a gin, a little over £60
T. G.
Wonderful, friendly staff really make The Swan worth the visit. Always feel welcome and my daughter loves to say hello to all the staff.
S. P.
I do like this pub, it's an old gem in an otherwise very modern town.
The beer tends to be good and there is a nice garden. But the layout is set mostly for diners. It this regard I have reviewed as 3 stars. The food is rarely disappointing, but it's just not brilliant. It's expensive for what you get and doesn't live up to the fantastic surroundings.
A. H.
It's very nice. Dips a star for value on starter and dessert.
I would definitely come again, but I wouldn't order the starter or desert. They're over priced for what youre getting. I ordered the roast beef. Excellent, can't fault it and I found good value for money.
Total for 3 people, 3 course meal was £100 with 3 drinks each.
S. R.
Lovely location great food 👌
A. B.
Really excellent! Very tasty food and generous portions. Couple of good ales on and strong range of wines. Good kids menu too. Very safe and secure in Covid times.
S. M.
Good food, but hideously overpriced for its quality, and accompanied by mediocre service.
I appreciate that we arrived here on a Sunday at 3:30, after the lunchtime rush, and that in all likelihood the waiting staff were tired. However, tired waiting/cooking staff does not equate to discounts for customers who are left hanging/disappointed as a result.
Overall the food really was good, though I wouldn't rave about it after all the places I've eaten in during the past six months... the price tag is certainly optimistic compared to a lot of restaurants I've tried, given the fact that the food is good, but not exceptional. Service was decidedly lukewarm, slow, and indifferent.
Overall, this scores a resounding "MEH..."
L. B.
Great place to eat and drink all year round.
There is a fantastic outdoor seating area for when it's hot and a cosy traditional setting inside for when it's cold.
Food is locally sourced where possible.
The staff are friendly and the locals are friendly.
Parking around the side is on gravel watch your step if it's raining.
I love this Pub
K. B.
Really enjoyed a suprise visit to this charming pub...friendly welcoming staff, freshly cooked dishes and cosy atmosphere...reasonable prices and different dishes than you usually find in a pub menu.Went here with my husband and Son and we couldn't fault the food.We did have to wait a while between each dish but it was worth the wait.My husband is diabetic and there were no dessert options on the menu for him, however on mentioning this to waitress they were able to create an alternative dessert suitable for him which was a bonus.Would definitely visit again.

Staff were efficient, knowledgeable and friendly, even put out a fire in the cigarette bin very promptly and still managed to keep their composure and serve me a G&T. 👌
Food was nice, if a little on the expensive side but prices weren't unexpected as it's posted on their website. Surroundings are very pleasant and the wobbly table can be excused as it was possibly having a bad day. No end of beer mats and serviettes could tame its desire to spill drinks!
Be warned of parents who are unable to control their noisy children though... Numerous close calls as young kids ran around the restaurant and into the garden area with hot food behind served.
T. B.
Has to be my most favorite Pubs in the greater Milton Keynes area. Food is always fresh - even got a shot gun slug in a serving of Phesant one time - the Reply from the waiter - at least you know it was a wild Pheasant - too true.
R. G.
Amazing place with in Milton Keynes village, this was the best vegetarian food I have ever eaten in a pub. The waiters were ever so polite and the mohito strawberry mule (non alcoholic) was delightful. We had a group dinner and other friends and colleagues were mixture of vegetarian and non-vegetarian, and have ordered alcoholic as well as non alcoholic drinks. All were happy. The space was bit squashed and we were split into two groups as the room was not big enough, however we were next to each other and a half way change allowed better interaction. It's old building with a low ceiling and the special character. Bright look on a sunny day. Would be delighted to go again.
D. C.
Lovely late Sunday lunch. Very tasty. Great service as always.
C. T.
Great food and a decent pint of beer.
Very helpful owner and well trained staff.
A true pleasure.
C. D.
Helpful and friendly staff, very accommodating with awkward dietary requirements. Good food and atmosphere.
b.
Went for dinner last night with a friend. Very easy to order in a Covid secure way. All staff were friendly and explained how to use the ordering app. Very fast service on the app for drinks and food. Looking forward to next visit 👍
M. M.
Enjoyed an excellent family meal with some drinks in the garden. A lovely spacious garden. The staff were very friendly and ensured we had a most enjoyable meal.
Gratitude and appreciation to the hard working staff..
Wish The Swan Inn every success
C. W.
Good beer & good food which is reasonably priced. The service has improved over the last 12 months, I think it is slightly above average for a pub! The atmosphere is normally pretty good & lively.
P. S.
Good burger but nothing amazing for the price. Service was great though!
A. M.
The food was absolutely scrumptious and the ambience was lovely. The staff members were very polite.
S. B.
This pub is always so lovely and cosy, there's a small bar with seats close to the log fire and usually a few dogs for petting as you arrive. The restaurant is past the bar and always serves beautiful food. Have never had a bad meal here.
C. O.
Great service, food and beer and service
M. E.
Fantastic food and friendly atmosphere. We came for lunch with our two daughters, 4 and 15 months. The children's food was top quality. Get here early or be sure to book ahead.
G. T.
Love the food and vibe here, especially in the winter when it feels cosy and you don't want to leave. Staff are great and the mix of food flavours are well executed. Not many vegetarian/vegan choices though.
S. G.
I have had some issues in the past with the Swan, however my last visit was amazing.
The Sunday roast could not be faulted and the service was amazing!
Cannot wait to come back soon!
C. L.
Average food at best!
We visited the Swan Inn with family and we were pretty disappointed with the main courses. The majority of us chose the roast lunch options and the meat; potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were overcooked and tasteless. The horseradish and apple sauce were also very bland. The sticky toffee pudding was the only thing worth recommending.
The pub itself was lovely and our waitress was very welcoming and friendly.
I would not recommend this restaurant as you do not get value for money. Very overpriced for what is served!
C. B.
Really nice setting with super outside beer garden and dining area. Perhaps not a regular place for food as a little pricey but odd treat worth spending that bit extra. Service was very friendly albeit a little slow on the food however covered by the frequent bar service
J. S.
My Name is Jack and my Nanna and Granddad took me here today it was basically my birthday meal. I had a children's cheeseburger it was excellent, home made and in a lovely brioche bun. It was the best burger i've ever tasted. Hopefully i can go back soon.
K. A.
The Swan Inn is a place where we have frequented a numerous amount of times. It is a really nice place to spend a good few hours however the reason for the small grading is that it's super expensive, but service is very slow. Hardly any bar staff on a Saturday night. 1 member was dealing with a very picky customer so this meant there was no one else go serve, was stood at the bar for a while before evening seen too.
Ok, nice ambiance but I feel it's trying too hard to be something it's not
M. H.
Good food in fairly small quantities. Beautiful place inside and out with efficient staff. Tends towards the fancier side of things (don't head in expecting pub grub), but what they have is nicely presented and most importantly delicious.
S. R.
1st two times the meals have been incredible. Though this time round the meal felt a little bland and the 'MK mud pie' way overly sweet, watch out!
It's still beautiful inside and the staff were very friendly.
A. H.
Amazing food. Lovely atmosphere and very good service. If you're looking for great food that is presented well in a cozy country pub, look no further.
D. G.
Always a warm welcome. Great beer and wine selection and fantastic menu, all at fair prices. Great garden with good seating options in and out of the sun. Dogs welcome in the garden and the bar area.
f. m.
Service was good, food was very nice, did get charged for 3 items we didn't have (mistakes happen), was taken off bill after I clocked it, will go back for sure
F. F.
Nice food, good atmosphere and great service. Would happily return.
R. S.
it would previously be always rated 5 stars.... but on this visit we felt it lost something.... it's personal service... it's mojo a little. The food was ok but nothing that special like before. It's such a shame because we live abroad and take my wife's parents there and therefore we may reconsider that choice next time.... and just to add - my wife and I had our wedding reception there a few years ago and it was awesome.. :(
M. O.
Went here for our annual family Xmas dinner and the entire experience from initial enquiry to execution on the day was faultless. Excellent booking system including online visibility for payments and pre-orders, highly attentive and efficient service all carried out by delightful staff.
Absolutely no qualms about recommending The Swan Inn to anyone and will definitely be back next year and probably sooner.
P. P.
Pub is great not a great selection for Veg options but the burger is really nice. Staff were amazing :)
M. C.
Not a local but have now been a patron some half a dozen times! Alway satisfied with food and drink. Staff polite and willing, particularly Cathie, she knows my partner long time, and even if not serving us makes a point of seeing we have all we need, well done all.
C. C.
Excellent food, lovely staff and very accommodating of an active toddler too. Look forward to coming back for another Sunday roast soon.
R. F.
My friend and I had Sunday lunch at the Swan last week. The service was excellent as was the food. A really enjoyable experience.
G. D.
Real Nice place to have drink and Meal.
meal are fresh, Very good. it was a real pleasure to be at that place.
S. S.
It's my favourite local pub! Perfect for anytime
W. J.
Lovely food, the fish and chips and King prawn and crab linguine were both hot, good portions and delicious. We didn't wait long for the food, the service was great.
S. J.
Had a great meal and a few drinks afterwards here recently. Food was very good, and service was as expected. They have a recent new manager, who seems to be doing something right! It is expensive, but as long as the quality and service is there, I don't mind. Thanks!
A. R.
Lovely thatched village pub. Good food God carpark.
N. L.
Tucked away in Milton Keynes village which is a gem in itself you will find this place which is absolutely brilliant. There is a huge dining area including an outdoor section along with a decent sized bar if you just want a quick drink. I popped in for lunch with friends and was looked after very well by the staff. We all had delicious food, ranging from a simple salad to pork belly. It's very good value and best of all away from the concrete jungle that is Milton Keynes.
R. G.
Food was good, but the place very cold. Could do with extra heating.
S. T.
Friendly service and great gastro pub food. A wide variety of meals and caters for vegetarians. Went with friends and their kids and we all enjoyed the experience - thank you!
N. H.
Warm and welcoming place to eat. Food is delicious and at a good price. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would happily recommend and will return.
J. I.
In my top 5 pubs of Milton Keynes, The Swan Inn is one to go to. Whilst the price you pay for the meals and the portions you get in return could be better, the drinks and look of the pub more than make up for it. When you come here it does feel like you've escaped Milton Keynes temporarily. Plus the crisps they sell here are pretty damn good! Bone' Apple Teeth!
D. B.
Light, airy and spacious dining area. Vast garden for open-air eating and drinking. Well executed COVID-safe operation. Friendly, helpful and knowledgable servers. Good menu.
J. B.
Great food and drink. If you want to Christmas Day menu, book as soon as it comes out, we were disappointed that it had all sold out, we'll be quicker next year! Great for a special occasion too!
V. S. R.
This is our local pub... and how lucky we are. Great atmosphere, historic building a wide selection of drinks, superb food and friendly service. A bit pricey but well worth it.
J. B.
Lovely food, amazing waitress, considering it was raining and cold we had a lovely time under the canopy 🥂✌
J. O.
The Swan Inn was the closest to our hotel, but still almost a half hour walk. Lovely traditional old building and a reasonably good selection of drinks. Prices and service are fine. We went on a Tuesday, so it was rather quiet.
I. B.
Lovely meal last night and staff were very good. Would recommend
J. F.
Good food, definitely not pub grub. The service can be hit or miss. This visit it was very good even though the place was busy. But I have experienced extremely slow service in the past.
P. B.
Nice pub, friendly and helpful staff, beers good, not tried the food
T. B.
Lovely place, service great , my choice of food has stopped me giving 5 stars- it wasnt great. I would go back !

Stunning interior, superb food and excellent service. Would recommend highly. However, would like to see a wider vegetarian choice.
D. P.
Cosy thatched roof traditional pub with good food. Had the great British breakfast and it was delicious but quite expensive hitting around £30 for 2 of us with tea and a ginger ale
P. W.
A good pint and good food. Friendly and efficient staff.
T. D.
Beautiful place and delicious food.
S. W.
Went to the Swan Inn for breakfast after walking our puppy, there were six of us in total. The staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, it was great to be able to take the dog but would give the breakfast a miss next time.
T. H.
Visited friends who live in the area and they recommended to eat here, didn't disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, food was great, very delish!

An awesome restaurant with great service and great kids menus. It's also in a nice secluded part of Milton Keynes with a nice park near by. Thanks for looking after us guys.
