Reviews of The George pub
My partner and I decided we wanted to go out for some food today, I googled places as wanted to try somewhere new and we landed on you. 10 minute drive so I was surprised I hadn’t heard of you before, and we were certainly not disappointed!
I ordered the garlic bread to start, very large portion so if you want a little nibble then this may be too big. Very tasty indeed!
For my main I ordered the vegan dog with side of onion rings, the onion rings were very nice and the hotdog was so full of flavour that after one bite I had to double check it wasn’t the meat one, incredibly good food.
Staff were super friendly, the pub is a lovely looking pub next to a beautiful church.
We will definitely be back.
We visited this beautiful family run pub this afternoon for a lovely roast lunch and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! By far the best roast we've had in a long time. …
Well worth a visit. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The pub has a really nice garden too. The menu has a great selection to choose from. Can recommend the chicken curry which is homemade and delicious. My friend had the large prawn salad. It had plenty of prawns, but a bit too much salad. We had a great evening and will definitely revisit.
This is what a pub should be, welcoming, warm, friendly. The menu here is small but once again that's how it should be as the quality of the food we had was top shelf. I had sausages and mash with a gravy that was to die for. I could have had a pint of that gravy so deep in meaty goodness. We will be going again and the pub is dog friendly which is a massive bonus. Gold stars all around for the George.
On arrival I was really disappointed to see the lovely planters at the front of the car park full of dead and dying weeds when they could look so beautiful with a little time and effort and would probably draw customers in…..on seeing these we would have driven by if we hadn’t booked.
The food and service was excellent but our evening there was ruined by other customers playing with the plethora of waters guns, footballs and general garden ‘toys’ scattered about the place. We left as soon as possible as did another couple who had gone there for a quiet drink in the garden.
Fantastic pub in brilliant location. Lovely staff, happy to go above and beyond to cater for every individual. I would highly recommend visiting this establishment as it is truly feels like a piece of home. I wish more pubs would be this welcoming.
Excellent modern country pub. Loads of space and garden. Very clean and well presented. Home cooked food and wonderful friendly staff. Worth popping in after Bletchley!
Food and service were very good but the leery, loud, foul-mouthed louts at the bar rather spoiled the experience. I felt for the young barmaid who was being hassled by them. They may keep the tills turning but how many do they put off? I wouldn't go back there again even if it means driving out of the village.
Lovely food, really enjoyable experience. Friendly atmosphere.
The staff are always friendly, food is excellent and this is a great place to relax, eat and drink inside or out. Both family and dog friendly and has the most wonderful beer garden
