Reviews of Beeronomy

Great bar, staff are friendly, decor is really chilled and has a good vibe. Cocktails two for £9.50 - can't go wrong! Has a good internal restaurant called the Greedy Gannet that does awesome food and a private function room downstairs called Strawberry Thief.

Visited for Newcastle restaurant week. 2 courses for £10 or 3 for £15 including a drink. The place has only been open a few weeks. Staff were very nice. We were sat downstairs. It was more of a dining are than pub. Quiet but comfy. The food was excellent. We had for starters - beef tartare and curried carrot, for mains - spelt risotto and seafood linguine and for dessert- apple strudel. Drinks we had a pint of their own blonde ale and 2 pints of rivet catcher. Total £29. Really good value and opportunity to see what somewhere new is like. We'll definitely go back to try the regular menu which i was assured was a step above gastropub. The head chefs both have excellent backgrounds - jesmond dene and house of tides - and the food reflected this.

Friendly staff, nice chilled out decor, good music. Loved the chandeliers. Go downstairs to see the old Newcastle building society vault doors where the strawberry thief selfie mirror is now, awesome!

Incredible new food. The Greedy Gannet's new food really portrays amazing gastropub cuisine for a very reasonable price. I will be coming back again.

This is an incredible bar, comfy clean and tastefully decorated, you add to the mix incredible food, great selection of beer and friendly knowledgeable and accommodating staff, you have something special. Highly recommended.

A great looking bar restaurant
Serving food and matching ales to your choice. Although we only stayed for a drink the food that was being served look to be of good quality and well presented. The main bar and restaurant area is tastefully decorated with exposed duct work and chandelier. There is a smaller bar in basement

Nice place food looked nice
L. W.
Excellent food and cocktails for a very reasonable price and knowledgeable staff
C. M.
Nice big open space, good booths, good drinks selection for pints. Staff seem nice, good location. Yeah just a good option, especially given the location. Not many like this in this neighbourhood.
T. B.
Great atmosphere and outstanding food. Highly recommend

We visited last week and were impressed. I'd recommend to book a table beforehand though.
We arrived and it was very busy. We were taken to our table and had the same member of staff seeing to us. I have to say, they were great and were very attentive. The food was very tasty and very reasonably priced.
It is a pub and a restaurant at the same time, and that is where my criticisms would be. We were lucky, as I could see that some diners had evening drinkers congregated around the end of their tables. I would not like it if I had a table booked and had people crowded around the end of my table. We did not, although a punter did out his empty pint glass on our table. It might be better if both sides, bar and restaurant, were kept separate.
P. M.
Great drinks, food and most importantly great staff. Many thanks

My first visit, on a very quiet Tuesday pm. My friend and I were searching for a 'light bite', a glass of wine, and the opportunity for an undisturbed chat. We settled on thick cut chips and Madras scotch eggs. The food was served promptly and efficiently, reasonably priced, tasty and filling. The service was excellent! Young girl, attentive, friendly, and helpful.
The decor was very much like any other pub currently with the industrial and wood look. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and one that I would likely repeat.

Pretty decent variety of beers and staff nice and friendly. On sitting at a table, realising it was reserved and getting back up a member of staff informed is the table was reserved for later in the evening and we were free to use until then. A helpful touch. The only thing I would suggest is to make customers aware there's a whole other bar and sitting area downstairs. I witnessed many potential customers leave as they had no idea of this.

Came for drink before theatre so it was early 7pm but starting to fill up. It's restaurant week in Newcastle so probably busier than usual on a Wednesday Night. Good range of beers so hubby happy and i had a lovely stout that was really chocolatey. Liked the look of the food so will come again. Lovely staff ( really young😯!) and lovely surroundings. Only been open a few weeks but think it'll be around for a long while

Visited on Father's Day and was very impressed with the quality of the food and beer. Visited again a few days ago with colleagues and was quite disapointed. Beer was great, but food and service were quite poor. Parts of food were good ie the steak and some of the garnish, but other such as the chips they forgot came out burnt, and starters were a bit over done, also didn't have any sauces for steak because they didn't have a delivery (what about making your own!)
Ref service, this time they knew little about the beers on offer and could not describe them, 1st time the servier did seem to know the beers and gave some good advice.
Could be a great place if they upped the standards on service and food quality.
Nice decor inside and central.location.
A. L.
Great beer and atmosphere. Not cheap and could do with putting some form of clear track n trace or system for clearly telling you to order at the bar or table. Overall a nice experience.

Visited today for Sunday lunch and was very very impressed. The quality of the meat was evident and it had been beautifully cooked. The accompanying vegetables were great too. From entrance to departure the staff were friendly, attentive and interested in what we thought. Great atmosphere for a relaxing Sunday lunch.

we haven't eaten here yet, only been a few times for drinks but the place has a relaxed environment, usually busy on the weekends and alright on weekdays. there's a good selection of drinks, all at good prices. selected cocktails are 2 for £9.50 which saves a fortune.
J. T.
Good bar.great Sunday roast.nice beer.
Well placed tables with enough space to give privacy but not feel out on a limb.
Staff polite and friendly.
Facilities clean and well stocked.
J. W.
Good cocktail menu, Sundays and Thursday it's 2 for 1. Only roast dinner on a Sunday. Good looking bar, great selection of beer, not your usual beers either, so very interesting.
B. D.
We went to Beeronomy for the restaurant week menu - for £15 we received a very very good 3 course meal, good beer and perfect customer service. We tried it out whilst it was cheap and both my partner and I agreed we would go back and happily pay for the regular menu.
P. M.
Popped in for a quick beer, ended up ordering some snacks and a couple of cheese. Excellent choice of beer, food was spot on, nice vibe and tunes... And a nice gang of staff who were all a credit to the place. Good work 👌
J. J.
The staff are attentive, the drinks are well crafted and beautifully balanced and the food is sublime and reasonably priced for the level of craft and skill involved. If you haven't eaten here yet, get that changed!
P. C.
Dont be put off by the name this place has great food, friendly staff and is amazing value for money (not just the pre theatre deals either, it'sall excellent). The beer selection is spot on too, so if you do like the name it'll be good for you too.
T. F.
Fabulous bar, nothing else like it in Newcastle!
Would highly recommend to anyone !
Cocktails and food are outstanding and the staff are friendly and attentive.
Will definitely be returning in the future.

Went for Sunday lunch. Had the beef. It was piping hot and very tasty. Yorkshire pudding was light as a feather. Our waitress Chloe was very helpful
D. C.
Plenty of choice of ales and spirits food not up to much only pies and burgers we opted for the burger but it was a cheap brand and chips were cooked in old oil only £13.00 for 2 but I would rather go elsewhere for food and pay the extra
Would go back for the drinks but would give it a miss for the food
L. F.
Loved the wide variety of cocktails, and if it isn't on the list just ask and the bar staff will try their best to oblige. Great customer service, definitely going to be one of my favorite haunts...😁
M. Y.
All very clear and sensible social distancing. Great service
J.
Updated their cocktail menu recently and I've tried almost all of them. LOVE IT. It's less than £10 for two cocktails sundays to thursdays!

Quirky roomy bar in City Centre. A variety of great seating and standing areas. Good, friendly service with delicious cocktails at good prices.
P. G.
Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Food tasted lovely and was well presented. Nice drinks menu too.
P. G.
Some different (high quality) beers. Served well. Good ambience. Not as noisy as some central bars. Will go again
S. Q. (. Q.
Typical city centre pub, decent selection of drinks, over priced, trying to appeal to the 'crafty types.
Basically a Wetherspoons classier decor. Nowt special but worth a visit.
S. P.
Food here is exceptional, the service is top notch and there is a great choice of beer and cocktails.
Would highly recommend

Good food and beer. They had run out of lots of things on the menu so the choice was a little limited. Plates were cold so food was like warm when they brought it out.
S. W.
Excellent selection of beers, and great location. The food looks very nice, although lacking in vegetarian options.
F. R.
Great bar with excellent fish and chips. Good comments about a lamb burger as well. Excellent service.
