Good selection of beers and real ales. Ordered the BLT @ £4.90. It was ok. White bread seemed a bit thin and lots if not too much lettuce. Also ordered chips, was ok, nothing special seems like from frozen. Relaxed atmosphere. Can sit indoors and outdoors. Table service only for indoors.

Called in Tuesday 5pmish, not crowded, staff very polite serving drinks. Menus, good, enough to choose from, excellent prices. I am pleased to say the food was quite delicious. Serving staff good, food and prices excellent, would definitely recommend and certainly will go again.

Went here for Sunday Lunch for the first time. Lunch was 9.99. I am generally not a fan of Sunday pub lunches, or event days such as Mothers Day, as the food is usually poor, mass produced and what I call "plastic food". This was an exception and is the best Sunday Lunch out in a long time Will go again and would recommend. Have been again for Sunday Lunch. Just as good as last time. Really enjoyed visit. Plenty meat with your meal. Staff really friendly and helpful.

I have drunk in the Border Minstrell for over 10 years yet today I have been told it is race prices and I have to pay an extra £1.00 per pint. The pub is nearly empty. WHY? This is a terrible way to treat customers who just want a few drinks. Outrageous and unjustifiable.

We had a brilliant afternoon in the border minstrel yesterday.. made by a member of staff who rescued us from a very busy front of house who suggested we could use the court yard at the back.. as we had a large group and had just participated in the colour run and were covered in paint. Ebony was so friendly and couldn't have done enough for us.. thanks ebony. We had never visited here before and despite some restrictions still in place we left very positive refreshed and with full stomachs 🤣😁

Smaller than anticipated, but no problems identified during lunch service. A range of ales and lagers available from the bar, food included special deals, coffee recommended. Potato skins were a large portion for one, but good for sharing, mains are generous portions but fulfill most expectations. Check out any specials on offer. Worth a visit, but perhaps not on a race day!

Nice venue, decent range of lagers, ciders & beers. The food was tasty and reasonably priced for the location, whilst the staff were helpful and friendly. We did visit at a quiet lunchtime so cannot attest to quality as a very time but I will definitely be going again.

Came for our Christmas dinner today and we would definitely recommend it . It was absolutely amazing, the staff were lovely and friendly and did anything for you . Took my sister who was in a wheelchair and it was lovely to have a nice round table where we could sit her in her wheel chair and plenty of room to move around . Ordered 2 meals, both were not available, apparently due to imminent menu change, meals subsequently selected were satisfactory. No soap in washroom, staff immediately took soap in (too late for me). Staff were very apologetic and embarassed with both issues.

We have been regular customers since December of 2016. The meal on Christmas Eve was by far and away some of the best Pub food we have ever eaten. We always take visitors to the pub . Staff are friendly and make us and our large brown dog welcome. Prices for food and wine really good to reasonable . In short we Like the place and enjoy going there However our last couple visits . The food as dropped from good to k fair and our late Saturday afternoon visit . Suggested that a sea change needs to take place in the kitchen Our chicken dish was a dry breast chicken with a sauce of no real identity or flavour . Been for sunday lunch. disappointed meat lovely cracknel delious. potatoes veg not good. frozen peas and carrots .roast potatoes should have been cooked.correctly. not roasted no colour and hard to cut. Caulifrower and brocillie not cooked enough and water from them made gravey thin.DISAPPOINTED not up to usual standard.
