Quirky, stunning restaurant. A little bit hard to find initially. Comfy seating. Nice music and vibes. The staff were so lovely and helpful. However, we looked prior to coming on the menu online and turns out most of that stuff has changed. I got the signature burger and the cheesy peri peri chips whilst my fiancé got the vegan versions. It was the best burger I have ever eaten. Plus, we both had a delicious cocktail. We were so full afterwards. Amazing portion sizes too.

Nice venue, music does get quite loud even on a Monday. Good atmosphere and nice staff. It is quite dark, so not ideal for pub quizes or games etc but would be nice for just drinks.

Great Place to eat and drink, the cocktail menu is unbelievable and there's always something to like. The food is also delicious and the atmosphere is warm and inviting and the service was fabulous. I would highly recommend this place to people, especially students with reduced process for them on both food and cocktails!!

We visited very early in the evening so it was quiet. Nice food and good service and I imagine quite a vibe when busy . Some of the furnishings are a bit tatty and the loos had an odd damp smell !!

It was ok, there is a bit of a dirty feel to the place like it could do with a good clean. However, the service was good as was the beer.

Really good spot here. Staff were all really friendly.. Nice and spacious inside, low lighting and the decor make for a great setting. Food was good value, there is a 3 courses for £15 option or 2 for about £12. Decent sized portions and quiet a cool menue. Drinks were all buy one get one free up until 7pm which is a bargain, cocktails were all around £6-8 which is about right for the area. The couple we tried were really nice. We didn't choose from the £15 menue because one of the group had a taste card which basically made our bill half price. 4 starters, 4 mains ,4 cocktails and 4 soft drinks was only £60, great bargain so definitely worth getting in before 7pm to get in on the 2 for 1 drinks. Seemed like it was targeted at students , mostly under 20s in there. Few older groups having a bit of food, the seating booths are nicely secluded so you wouldn't feel like you were eating in a nightclub if it was later on, I imagine it gets quite lively later on. Reminded me a lot of the Dirty Bone chain in London. Big fan of those places. I am sure I will be back here again next time I am in Newcastle.

Popped in here for a cheeky cocktail last night after going for a meal with friends. Atmosphere was great! And hats off to MEG, she was a little superstar! The was our alternative to visiting Beach Box. Staff were very accommodating for our group and the wide selection of drinks were excellent. Due to the excitement and reasons we were in Newcastle, we ordered the Shark’s Head. For £200 it was totally not worth it and that is why I have given it a 4 star rating.

Food was good however 'unlimited bruch' as they call it occurs every 20 minutes so you end up drinking 4 drinks in 1.3 hours.

They're offering very delicious foods, fantastic drinks, so this place is definitely worth a visit. The pub also has a very unique atmosphere and interior, that most visitors will find extra cozy. The only drawback is that drinks ar quite pricey, however with a valid student ID, you can get really good discounts!

My friend and I went for the first time, on Tuesday night, and they had 241 offers on food and drinks. I was driving so I had berry mock-tails. They tasted so good, full of fresh berries. We ordered nachos to share for a starter, there was so much food.. it was big enough for 4 people! For my mains I I had slow cooked lamb kebabs, with salad, dips and fries..😋 Unfortunately I could not eat it all! Very nice and very generous portions of food. We had the lovely Cara look after us.. thank you for the friendly service. See you soon..🤗

It was actually Jesmond Beach Box I went to rather than the Holy Hobo... Flipping brilliant!! First of all I'd like to say the staff were absolutely fabulous; friendly, courteous and the customer service was outstanding. Table service under cover, with heaters? What's not to love. There were also food trucks ranging from Carribbean via Greek via curry via pizza via dirty sandwiches/fries via waffles which all looked and smelled amazing. I had dirty fries from Hatch76 which were properly dirty!! Really good live music too so all in all, thank you for a splendid afternoon and I will most definitely be back. My only teeny tiny criticism is that the music was quite loud and on occasion, shouting was required... Maybe turn it down just a little??

Quite disappointed to say the least. Although the place was busy (not overly) was a shambles trying to get served for a drink. Was told it was table service which is fair enough in the current pandemic however hardly any staff came up to take any orders. Once orders were in took an age to have the drinks brought to the table. Nice establishment, outdoors was much better than indoors. Much better service. 2 words, won't be back.

Beach box - £2 entry was a sneaky secret which you don't find out about until arriving at the door. Bouncer was rude and unwelcoming, barking orders to enter a venue which he seemed to think was some sort of prison block. Staff inside were nice, drinks and food were decent.

Nice cocktail menu, really nice lagers if that's your taste. Limited ale options. Food was nice - were there for a birthday party and for a large (ish) group they catered very well. Certainly worth a visit though it is slightly off the beaten track.

Loved it here for both food and drink. Service was spot-on and an amazing selection of cocktails etc. Atmosphere was great even though there was a load of scaffolding blocking a lot of the windows at the time. Shows how well designed and how nice it is. I'll definitely be back.

Great range of cocktails and drink, food is also very nice. Downsides are it's fairly expensive for a student (though still not too unreasonable), and past 10pm the music is so loud you can barely have a conversation.

Trendy little bar with plenty of cool drinks, high end beers and cocktails. They also have budvar on a tank line which is pretty cool and you can see how fresh the beer is. The food is ok, a bit limited but priced well. Great as a snack when having drinks rather than a place I would go for a meal.

A nice looking place for sure, having been rescued from the somewhat tired looking though popular Mr Lynch operation. I happened by chance to arrive on a Friday late afternoon meeting friends, and a happy hour session had just kicked off 😀 I had two Amstel for £3.70. Ideal. Then several more at that rate. Hopefully it will continue to attract a respectable crowd and maybe even resurrect the good live music nights that attracted some very decent bands indeed.

A welcome refresh to Mr Lynch’s across all aspects; food, drink and service. Having extended restaurant week we wanted to check out the menu and take in a happy hour cocktail. Firstly, service was very good, genuinely welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. We ordered haloumi fries, chicken kebabs and doughnut desert. The fries were excellent, perfect portion to share with a tasty sauce. Kebab menu was diverse with meat and vegan/veg/GF options, then a selection of side salads and sauces which made our similar order unique in taste. Very impressive. Doughnuts to finish, again very good share sized portion and were some of the best I’ve ever had. 241 cocktail list from 5-7pm is a bargain, although you can’t mix the cocktails as part of the deal we weren’t complaining as the drink was very nice. Overall, a lovely experience and hope it can be maintained.

2nd visit to the Holy Hobo for Sunday lunch. Fantastic. The service on the day was excellent, really nice staff. Budvar in top condition. Only slight criticism is I prefer my lunch and gravy steaming hot as I take time to eat. We will return to try the rest of the menu.

I called in tonight after the match with my two lads one who's birthday it is, he really wanted a burger after watching Newcastle stuff Huddersfield 2-0! We had just been trying to get a table at As you like it and after being messed around because i had two under 12 lads we decided to give what i still call Lynch's a go! The young lady who seated us was excellent and very vocal with both myself and two boys, we ordered and i have to say the very best burger i have ever had including beefy boys Hereford/Las vagas! We also ordered mediteranean salad to share and again fantastic along with beautifuly cooked homemade chips/fries with sundried tomato dip this by far smashed anything i have eaten in a very long time! This was not just food this was a memory as we didn't feel out of place sitting along side a place full of adults no we watched rugby and chatted and ate together father and sons in a great place with lovley people. First visit to the Holy Hobo … first I was slightly reserved as last few reviews where low!! But from my visit they were Great , excellent hosting skills from all team with making you feel right at home! Shout out to Jade for being defo the hostess with the mostess. Great customer journey from her! Jack the barman his drinks are as good as his looks! With a custom made cocktail of “blue lagoon” my favourite one and one of the best I had considering it was not in the menu !! And to top the visit DOG friendly and the dogs are treated just as well as the humans! 5* in This visit and Will return
