We were recommended by another bar - the continental. It was so strange just tucked right out the way in the cloth market, down in the basement. This place is table service and right from the start we really enjoyed it. We were sat and a jug of water for the table was provided which I think is a nice touch. The music was fantastic, and really set the mood of the whole place, playing original R n B and rap. The place kind of had a jazz vibe with the small round tables, architecture and low ceilings. As there were so many cocktails to choose from we asked for recommendations and we went for a sours which was delicious. We also played the can't decide random choice thing which was really cool too. The bar staff were super friendly and very helpful and we really enjoyed our night.

Mother mercy is a very cool underground bar that serves classic cocktails with a twist. I went for drinks with friends a few weeks ago and we enjoyed the low lighting, cave-like interiors and the tasty drinks. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Newcastle!

Creative and enjoyable cocktails, and the dumplings are maybe the nicest dumplings i’ve ever had! The music was great the whole evening, the staff were really friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was cozy and intimate. overall a very nice experience, it’s a shame i’ve only discovered this place now!

Went out for drinks several times while in Newcastle but kept coming back to this place as it was so good. The drinks are incredible, the rose and marshmallow cocktail was the nicest one I've ever had and the staff are all amazing. One of the guys even recommend other places for us to try for drinks and food while on our trip which was lovely. The atmosphere is great and we found it to be a nice, chilled out place whilst still being entertaining. A favourite place of mine!

The drinks here were yummy & staff very attentive. Only thing I would say is that the music wasn't our taste Jazz Rap Hip Hop, which is fine but all of a sudden it got cranked up and you couldn't hear yourself think which was disappointing. I did ask if they would turn it down and they apparently were not able to accomodate this but it did then get turned up a bit louder. For anyone thinking, oh well you must be old, I am not but I think in a bar its nice to be able to chat to the people you're with but that is just my opinion.

Quite literally stumbled across this bar on a night out. Staff were very friendly throughout and made great drink suggestions. The booths were good at reducing background noise and made the experience more intimate. The drinks were very tasty and quick to arrive. Would recommend this hidden gem.

I love this place. It is so unique and aesthetic. The cocktails are very nice and the staff are lovely. I'd defiantly recommend, but would suggest booking in advance as it is often very busy.
