Reviews of The Badger
M. L.
The Badger has always been a favourite of ours and it was nice to be able to return to it on our recent visit from Spain. The building itself has a history all of it's own going back several hundred years. A good selection of cask beers, real ales and lagers. Could not believe seeing Estrella Damm on tap here. An excellent Spanish beer! We did not eat on this occasion but we saw plenty of evidence coming from the kitchen to suggest that the food is as good as it always was.
M. H.
Waitress was very good brought us to the table. Little wait on food but presentation of food and all served hot.
Waitresses attended our every need even when she was busy.
M. H.
Took some friends for a meal here no complaints staff were friendly and food was great coke even came in a little glass bottle to pour in glass witch is cool will definitely visit again :)
L. G.
Amazing food and service here. Really friendly and welcoming staff. 10oz Ribeye, 8oz Sirlion and Signature Burger have all been amazing. I've been with my family many times and each time has been superb.

First visit but not the last The atmosphere the decor and staff (kyle)were fab..the food amazing could not fault anything
A. B.
we visited this pub on the occasion of dropping family off at Newcastle airport. Very friendly atmosphere, nice interior. The food was fine.
J. P.
We tried this lovely place tonight and we were not disappointed. The staff (including the main guy taking the orders, just fabulous) were very professional and attentive. Hats off to Donna I think she said her name was. The new girl, had a lovely smile the whole time we were there.
The food was great and hot as were the plates.
Our dogs loved the treats too!
We will definitely return on our next visit to Northumberland.
I. W.
Lovely Sunday dinner at the Badger. Trio of meat was excellent. Good service, nice traditional setting and dog friendly in the bar.
L. T.
On Saturday I had my first ever visit here with my family and Anne kindly took our order and delivered outstanding customer service and was ever so lovely!
I have a dairy allergy and she went above and beyond to kindly check everything I ordered was dairy free to avoid any allergic reaction and showed me the ingredients on the Ipad to offer more reassurance, which I thought was such a kind and genuine gesture; she even gave me fresh cutlery without even asking for and brought my food at separate times to avoid cross contamination. You can certainly tell that this lovely lady has been trained brilliantly with allergies and handled it like a professional! I am ever so grateful we had the pleasure of her service and wanted to share my appreciation to Anne!
Thank you for making my first ever visit so enjoyable and everything you did for me that evening it was greatly appreciated and I will definitely be back 💕💕
A. D.
A great pub/restaurant with a fantastic menu choice of good quality food.
Fantastic beer garden at the front and back.
Always a friendly welcome from all the staff, especially ANNE who is a delight.
Good selection of draft beers/largers and a fantastic gin selection.
Also close to Newcastle airport and the airport hotels.
Always worth a visit.
M. S.
I received a pleasant welcome and then shown to my table. The staff were very courteousand efficient. I didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive. The meal was well cooked and tasty. Altogether a pleasant experience. I shall be back.
J. M.
This is a must if you are in the area!
What a beautiful homely feel it has
Vast choice of food and drinks
Very reasonable pricing and portions are perfect (even enough room for a cheeky wee pudding!)
Shout out to Wesley, fantastic service and an absolute gent!
V. F.
Staff friendly and welcoming. Food great, lovely selection of well cooked veg, but disappointed with frozen Yorkshire puddings, they used to be the best in the area. Also meat portions small.
J. R.
Christmas eve visit. Food was fantastic, best steak we've had in ages. Service was top notch with Wesley providing everything we needed. Will definitely be back next Christmas eve. Can't recommend enough
L.
Service was good, pleasant waiting staff. Would have been appreciated if Vegetarian options could have more than just 2 veg accompaniments as was the case for the meat meals which were provided with a more generous selection. Vegetarians like vegetables! Broccoli much too firm, seemed blanched as opposed to cooked. Brussel Sprouts were AWFUL, tough and over-firm, very obviously frozen ones NOT fresh. Expected all fresh veg for the price paid. Roast potatoes not great (not crisp and too firm ie not roasted long enough). Gravy rather skimped on. Generally underwhelmed and didn’t think it was good value for money.

Went for my birthday lunch 15/12/22 ,five of us Everything really good service food , lovely waitress ,My daughter Mrs Collins booked for nine person's 17/12/22 ,six o clock a family Christmas meal ,,most ,most,, disappointing,. Lack of staff, long wait. in-between courses, portions of food on plate guite small,a long wait for drinks ,We have gone to The Badger for years and never ever had any complaints, so don't know what ever happened this time,😭😭
v. f.
The meals we both had were excellent, very tasty, temperature of food was great and portion size good. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The 50% off main meals was a welcome bonus
D. S.
Christmas Eve meal was excellent and very reasonably priced . Relaxed atmosphere and the service we received from Wesley was superb . Our first visit for food although we have had a drink in the beer garden before in the Summer . We will definitely be back for food .
J. B.
The food in the Bager was very tasty and hot and arrived quickly especially considering we were a table of 10.
The hospitality and level of service shown by the staff was excellent. Will return without hesitation.
d. w.
Excellent experience, staff were fantastic couldnt do more for us, nothing was a problem. Food was excellent and presented very well. Overall great place to eat and the building is old and has great caratistics
G. L.
The lack of food choice I wanted beef lunch but had sold out I then asked for hunters chicken and the chef couldn't guarantee the sauce didn't have citris in it as I'm allergic the n finally got gamon which was extremely salty my partner got duo of lamb and for the price paid the portion size wasn't the best.
My partner asked the manager a question about new year and the party and declan donnely and his reply was quite sarcastic stating he didn't have a crystal ball which we both found extremely rude! We have been coming to the badger for a long time and were sad to see the quality of food go down and the staff attitude. There was also no vinegar so ended up not eventually eating my chips I would have thought on a Friday things like that would be fully stocked ready for the weekend! Very disp and has put us off returning for a meal again.
Update - we were contacted by Simon the manger who apologiesd and rectified our issues he gave us a voucher very kindly and we returned yesterday to 5 star service! Food was amazing and the team in working were amazing especially our waiter. Our faith re stored in the badger and we will be returning thank you again.
Regards
Gemma

Food and service were absolutely amazing. really tasty food and very reasonably priced. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Will definitely be back.
D. C.
It would have been nice to have been informed there was an additional charge for peas and pineapple with the gammon. Although it was only 50p each we should have been informed of this when they were offered as an addition to the meal rather than finding out when we got the bill
J. C.
we both had a starter and a main they both very good the service was brilliant we will return in the future
The last visit was around 5 years ago as the standard of food was not up to standard!
C. C.
Had a very enjoyable family meal at the Badger.
Staff were extremely helpful, and food was great. Will definitely be back
C. C.
Great atmosphere and prompt service. Lovely food
M. J.
Opted to pop in to the Badger in Ponteland near Dobbies as the waiting time was too long at Twin Farms nearby.
The wait was only around 20 mins to get served, not bad considering how busy it was.
Good selection of food, however, it is rather lacking for vegetarians. Personally I would order extra sides of veg with meals to compliment your meal. Just check what comes with your order first.
Deserts were not bad as well, especially as they serve sticky toffee pudding, even though that was served on a large dinner plate rather than a bowl.
The dining area is split in to a number of separate dining areas which means it doesn’t get that noisy.
Staff were friendly, pleasant and helpful. Prices were pretty much typical for pub lunches around this area.
Large car park adjacent to the pub.
K. F.
Cozy place with friendly service and okay food. I ordered a lobster and prawn appetizer - it was more like a prepared salad and the avocado tasted terrible (sour). I also got the lamb shank and mini Sheppard's pie. It was tasty but the lamb was very chewy.
A. F.
Excellent staff and very nice food. Good quality beer and atmosphere
Visited here September 2021 and returned again today once again everything was fantastic good to see how busy it was again. Will definitely return.
A. H. (.
What a lovely meal great service staff brilliant temporary menu but made feel so welcome
T. “. G.
Good range of beers and lagers, usual wine selection, Pinot, chardonnay or Sauvignon. Fish and chips were excellent and my partners fish finger sandwich was very good. Service was very attentive but that may be because the place was almost empty.
C. J.
My friend and I enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Badger today. Our waiter, Wesley, was lovely, friendly but always professional. When we were paying our bill, which I paid by card, he assisted us by changing a note to enable my friend to give me the correct money for her meal. As this was happening, a very rude member of staff told him to leave us and do something else. He had not been waisting time and his lovely manner had increased our enjoyment of our lunch. For the sake of no more than another minute, this person spoilt the experince for us. What should give been a rating of 5 stars, now rates as 3.
M. P.
The service and food was excellent
Staff where very friendly and our server Wesley was very helpful
g. c.
Lovely place food very good could of been a little hotter but it was acceptable Calamari starter outstanding tempura batter, with the roast veg may be a little under cooked for some people but perfect for me good experience little more expensive than usual but you get quality will be back
R. D.
really nice cozy place for some lovely dinner we had steaks and some starter's and couldn't go wrong with it... really enjoyed my evening staff very welcoming kind and helpful. would certainly visit once again..
A. M.
Friendly, efficient staff. Was seated where asked to be. Varied Menu. Was given a free pudding voucher.
Think some of the dishes are expensive for what you get.
A. S.
Great food, good service they have a large choice of tables however as I booked for a group of 3 we were stuck on a slightly smaller table, Im sure if we had mentioned this we may have been placed in a better location.
Food is roughly £15 ahead so usual prices,
B. T.
Great food, good section of drinks and overall. The staff were great, friendly and polite
L. B.
Pretty average to be fair. Chips had been kept hot far too long and the batter on the fish was soft. Sunday roast was ok.
D. F.
Excellent food and variety. Staff are lovely and have a good team atmosphere.
D.
Service was good but the food wasn't up to much. Overcooked wings. Soggy vegetables on the mains. Shame as it used to be a nice place to eat.
T. H.
Nice pub great food and staff bent over backwards to help and serve could do with a clean but 10 out of 10 even the grandbain love it ..that's saying something..keeping up guys very well done
D. L.
Food outstanding, service fab. Lovely homely atmosphere. We would definitely recommend. Will definitely be going again.
D.
Good food and drink in a nice atmosphere. Service excellent
V. W.
Had a lovely lunch. Food was really good , great service and lovely restaurant/ ambiance
V. P.
Friends and I recently had the Christmas Fare at The Badger as we do every year. Unfortunately this year the Roast turkey dinner was disappointing it was cold and the veg was hard not up to your usual standarda
J. R.
First visit here for a anniversary meal with my hubby and brother sister-in law, was busy but we had booked ,we all felt very squashed in at our table ..We ordered our food & drinks the others ordered fish & chips at £17 each and I had the beef sandwich at £9
Fish was disappointing as it frozen not fresh .beef sandwich was ok but nothing special..definitely not worth the money .. won't be returning .. I will say the staff are lovely and friendly
t.
We had an amazing meal tonight. Perfect way to wrap up a Sunday with a roast - the service was impecible, the atmosphere cosy and relaxed and the food delicious. We couldn't resist the dessert menu and can gladly say it didn't disappoint.
J. C.
Yet another enjoyable meal at The Badger. As always, attentive friendly staff and good service. It was great to get in from the rain to a nice warm fire and a good meal washed down with a nice pint. Can't fault it.
K. J.
The pub was cosy and traditional. The staff worked very hard and did a good job with a smile and were very helpful and friendly. However I strongly disagree with the service charge option when paying the bill. The staff should be paid a fair living wage and shouldn't have to rely on tips the may or may not get to subsidise there wage. I will leave a tip if the service and food is very good, the amount I think is fair not what the restaurant decides.
T. L.
We have passed this place and never been in so Saturday we took the plunge and stopped for lunch. What a delight. The building is full of old world charm and the layout inside is lovely, there is space but it feels cosy and inviting. Everything a pub should be. The menu is varied and enticing, I chose the beef bourguignon with mash and roast carrots. It was superb, cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The portion size was perfect, I felt comfortably full and didn't leave a scrap. Prices are good and considering the quality, represent true value for money. The other highlight was the service, everyone we saw was lovely; there was genuine friendliness and care that our visit was perfect. We'll worth a visit.
L. M.
Delicious food, friendly staff, warm real fire, but rather shabby and grubby.
G. H.
I never posted about a place before but the badger takes exception. I travel alot across the UK with work from Ireland and & find alot of hotels have quick ready meals with no thought put into their food. The one place and this is the second time I've been which reminds me of good tasty traditional food is the badger with each meal freshly cooked. Lovely cosy fires, traditional pub/friendly waitress, bar staff and food top notch.
C. T.
They fully booked Today but a lot of empty tables. Could of done with more staff.
G. W.
I have always enjoyed coming here for meal or even just a drink. The staff are friendly and the standard of service is good. Not a great selection of beers as it is part of a chain.
But if you are in the area and looking to get nice food at a fair price, in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Then go here.
D. R.
Apart from having to wait for over 30 minutes for our desserts after they were ordered everything else was fine - menu choice, service and quality of food. Had we realised the wait would be what it was we wouldn't have ordered them. Waitress kept apologising saying they would be served in the next 5 minutes - this happened several times!!
B. M.
This was a really great pub.
The landlord clearly takes great care to ensure everything is running well and has a great manner with his clients.
The meals are generous and of high quality.
C. M.
Great pub! Decorations are so festive! Super service and superb grub
J. C.
Drinks order was incorrect even after enquiring about it. I thought the veg which accompanied the lunch was very hard. I also thought the meat portion in comparison to the plate size was poor. Overall the food was tasty, however could of been better.
M. T.
Called in on our way up to Scotland and had an overnight stay at the nearby Premier Inn!
Food was served quickly and the staff member was really helpful and friendly! The food is quite expensive for what it is, but then it was really tasty and fresh!
Worthy of a visit!
B. G.
Conviently close to Newcastle Airport to provide a good meal without paying airport prices.
j. s.
Lovely food friendly staff value for money
R. H.
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening the food was lovely, the service was excellent and it was great value for money
R. M.
Such a lovely place to go for food. Sunday dinners are lush
A. A.
Gorgeous food , lovely hosts , haven't been for years - will be back soon .
c. H.
It's been a long time since I had Sunday dinner out. I had always been disappointed with the quality of the food but I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner on Sunday. The meat was really tasty, without too much fat and the vegetables were cooked really well.
S. Y.
Popped in for a few drinks after an evenings walk at Shaftoe Crags. Little sign at the entrance 'Muddy boots and dogs welcome' which was great as slightly muddy shoes is what I had. Pub has a lovely relaxed homely feel even though it's a very large pub with lots of eating areas. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back again!
D. A.
lovely pub, nice food and possibly the best pub host you will ever meet. If you are lucky enough to be looked after by David. Our dog loved him too as he reached in his pocket a d pulled out a slice of meat for her. We were seated in the dog friendly area with blankets for the dogs, dog treats, and water bowls. My burger was delicious. Don't miss this little gem if you are in the vicinity.
S. B.
Sunday lunch was very good (I recommend the beef ) also would prefer the veg served separate!
Unfortunately the service was slow however we did understand this was probably due to staff shortage otherwise very friendly staff. We will certainly be returning.
E. S.
Beautiful little freehold pub. Pretty friendly, have an indoor pet area or outside on the garden. Menu looks GREAT and prices were pretty good too!
I had a steak and wife had their 🐔 & 🍄 pie; both tasted excellent. Kids had their homemade pizza which was also tasted good (yep, dad taste tested).
Beer on tap was pretty standard, but they had a nice selection of wines and spirits (at least from this Yank's limited experience with British pubs).
I. A.
Family meal, food was delicious, staff were lovely. An enjoyable experience as it is a waitered service. Need to book on a Sunday as busy, and parking we had to go to Dobbies and walk across. More expensive than Tobys carvery but then different service.
L. Q.
Extremely busy waited over an hour for our meals which were expensive for what they were. My mum and husband enjoyed theirs me not so much but that was due to my choice no fault with the meal . Lady who served was very friendly and helpful
e.
I can understand why this place is so busy.. We tried it last Sunday & all six of us thought the food/service & prices were excellent. Loved the dog friendly room also. Will defo be back
l. c.
The food and staff was great, had a good time, would go again
D.
Staff excellent, very friendly, efficient and welcoming. Food was excellent - more than enough and freshly cooked, good value for money.
W. M.
While in transit through Newcastle Airport we visited for a few drinks and lunch.
Very impressed with the lunch, manager and lunch.
Highly recommended, just a short walk from the airport.
I. M.
Highly recommend, great service, quality food, clean and friendly establishment.
P. W.
They are very polite and helpful staff meals are lovely and there's room to get past other tables
P. J.
Very nice pub lunch and well attentive staff
D. M.
service, staff friendliness and oh my the food was delicious
D. H.
Always a warm welcome and great atmosphere. Handy for the airport too.
M. T.
Lovely place to eat, the food is amazing and delicious. The staff are very warm and welcoming to you and your poochy's alike. Definitely give this place a try you won't be disappointed.
C. W.
Love it here, one of my favourite places to go for a drink, or food and it's LGBTQ friendly ✌🏼 …
J.
When I go out for a meal I like to visit the Badger now and again as it is a very nice country style pub, I always order the gammon n egg with chips & peas with a pint of lager, always spot on, enjoy it every time.
A. H.
Cosy pub, nice location and friendly atmosphere, food was delicious, nicely presented, dessert lovely, however, coffee not strong enough and served in too big cups...
C. M.
Nice pub, good food and friendly staff.
Be aware to book in advance though, lot's of people were being turned away as they only had a limited number of staff on duty for the period we were there.
D. C.
Really nice staff and good quality food.
J. H.
Was our second visit yesterday, i had the camembert bites for a starter and then the belly pork, my partner had the pan fried prawns and the gammon, the food here is absolutely delicious and the staff are so friendly. Will 100% be back again, and its right next door to dobbies what more could you want 😁 …
A. B. C.
Return visit, brought my Mother here fir a lunch this week. Very accommodating, accessible and friendly. The food has always been good here on previous visits but this menu choice was excellent and the beef dish we have was a very good restaurant standard and thoroughly enjoyed. 5 stars all round
C. M.
We didn't have time to sample the menu, hence the 4* but the service was very friendly, spot on with advice and we couldn't fault the guy who welcomed us, or the bar staff. It has a nice warm, country feel to it and a very good atmosphere. It's not our local but we will be back for food
G. P.
Lovely pub, very attentive and friendly staff unfortunately the food that came iutwas cold
B. C.
Tasty food, plenty of choice and friendly efficient staff. A great choice for couples, families and groups of friends. Thoroughly recommend.
M. W.
Typical large pub/ restaurant.
Unfortunately they often seem to run out of the draft beer we are drinking.
O. W.
Service great and food cooked to perfection. App was little troublesome but sorted in the end
K. T.
Lovely atmosphere, nice little pub. We had Sunday roast all round and it was delicious. Staff was also very friendly.
M.
Nice pub, well furnished with great , friendly staff.
N. B.
Just called for coffee on our way home lovely place. Interesting customers (we were people watching) beautiful surroundings a must for people on or away from Scotland
J. S.
Great menu for a Father's Day treat.
B. L.
Surroundings were cosy and comfortable, staff were very good.
B. L.
Amazing food along with a friendly atmosphere, highly recommend
C. B.
Very polite and friendly service from our server (Ryan I think)
M. C.
We had a fantastic meal, the staff were polite and friendly and very helpful, the food was beautifully presented with good size portions, and cooked to perfection. My parents have been before however it was my first time and I would highly recommend it. Only draw back was the wait once you'd ordered however bearing in mind it was very busy it's to be expected plus gives you time to converse. Although it was busy the staff never put pressure on you to eat up quickly and were always on hand to assist.
H. G.
Can thoroughly recommend The Badger especially for small parties. The service was excellent as was the food.
J. G.
Been to the Badger a few times and never had a bad meal yet, reasonably priced and staff very friendly and approachable.
A. B.
The food was lovely hot and tasty but wasn't happy with the table arrangement groups and families mixed together I went with my husband and was looking forward to a quiet peaceful lunch just the two of us don't get me wrong I have a big family myself so got nothing against families children ect but sometimes it's nice to get away from all that and have couples time it would be nice if they had a couples area to eat otherwise it would be 5 stars ✨
H. P.
Lovely food and drinks, good service and a generally good time
L. K.
A wonderfully presented restaurant with brilliant staff. The food was bang on 👌. All of our guests enjoyed it. Well done guys! …
J. L.
First time back at The Badger since Feb 2020 and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, well priced, great portions and loads of choice. Our waitress was really friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely be going back.
G. F.
Excellent food and drinks, not your usual 'pub grub'. Really warm and friendly staff. Attentive, helpful and extremely professional. The vegetarian burger was fantastic. The building itself has retained its charm whilst integrating modern elements into its design to give a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.
J. B.
Beautiful, cosy pub with a great selection of drinks. Roaring open fires welcome you into its warmth and let’s you take a moment to appreciate its charm. Very attentive staff.
L. W.
Absolutely beautiful pub and beautiful food
G.
Love this place. Had many a Sunday lunch here - only ever complaint was the prawn starter, bound to be something not to your taste on the menu though I suppose! I’m a sauce queen and they have everything under the sun. Very accommodating - asked to move table, never a problem. Always lighthearted chat with waiters. We will be back!
A. J.
Went for lunch on 4th September with family, the main meals were pretty average, the salmon certainly wasn't worth the money. One thing I can recommend if you go is the chocolate brownie, best brownie I have ever had!!
I. S. B.
We have been there times. The food is top notch. We go for a treat as it can be pricey but i'ts worth it.
W. A.
Nice beer garden reasonable prices for beer £4.50 a Stella, food menu a bit pricey. Average
P. o.
Good pub great food selection and lovely and helpful staff
d.
Food was awesome today service was absolutely brilliant and good value loved the belly pork well worth a try no photos as nothing left on plates.
T. B.

d. s.
Great staff, good food a fab atmosphere will definitely be making a return visit
D. E.
Exellent food and nice helpfull staff.
A. K.
Went in for a drink. But saw the menu and liked it. Pizza, squash and mushroom mix in puff pastry. The salad dressing with ginger in it was good. Pleasant surroundings, sitting inside or out.
I. W.
Loved it, lovely food and great service
S. S.
Visited here today on the spur of the moment. Gorgeous hot tasty food and quick service. Friendly helpful staff and lovely ambience. Dog friendly. Would definitely recommend it. Definitely going back.
G. B.
Staff very friendly and attentive, the pub is clean and pleasant. The only thing that has been the let down today is the food. We had a 30 minute wait which was fine, that was explained to us on arrival. When we got our food it was mediocre at best, just warm and required a lot of seasoning was needed.
Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend the Badger for food, for a quiet drink yes, it's a nice setting.
M. A.
Great friendly staff, fab food and reasonably priced.
R. T.
Absolutely love The Badger. Highly recommended. True British food. Come here for the best Sunday Roast.
D. B.
Good menu selection and very nice food Thank you.
G. M.
Sunday lunch 😋🤗 great food great service ... …
D. W.
Great venue and hosted our child’s birthday party in their function room. Fab service. Thank you so much
T. C.
Table was ready as booked. Food came quickly, nice and hot. No issues
b. w.
Fantastic staff working here. Pleasant and welcoming, nothing too much trouble at all. The food was good, filling and served without undue delay. Small fish and chips plus a steak sandwich from the lunchtime lite menu was quite sufficient for us with a huge cup of cafe latte to accompany the meal.
B. R.
Good food and pleasant atmosphere, very dog friendly. Plenty of free parking just outside. Staff were attentive be not in your face.
L. V.
This is a nice place. Food was mostly good. It gets very full so I recommend calling ahead to book.
A. A.
Great food menu. Friendly atmosphere. Able to cope with my dairy free issue too.
K. O.
Very rude barman. We were staying at the premier inn decided to go here for some drinks and food. As we approached there was a door open and we went through and the barman got all puffy and had an attitude asking why we came through that door why is it open it's a fire door... well we didn't know . So we got sent to the other end were we were supposed to enter on our way one of the waitresses said good bye hope to see you again... hang on we just got here. We laughed it off. Then we stood at the que and were told there were no seats inside so we asked for a seat outside which was ok for drinks but we couldn't have food out there so we opted to stay and have a drink. Then this lovely waiter came and ordered us drinks and allowed us to order food if it was still what we wanted. He apologised for the behavior of the barman and looked after us well while we were here. I was going to give this a 1 star but the waiter deserved to get a higher rate so I've went for 3. Although it was a 5 star service from this man alone.
J. D.
The meal I had was nice (steak) but the Eton mess pudding was absolutely amazing nice tasting would buy this again 😊🍰 …
A. R.
Incredible place, the food, staff, and atmosphere is always fantastic, we'll worth a visit!!

After completing the Great North Run we got talking to people on the train back into Newcastle & on hearing we were flying out from Newcastle Airport recommended we grab something to eat here. Our flight was delayed & we asked some of the airport staff about The Badger & they enthused about it. As we'd time, we decided to walk the 15 minutes. It was busy but the staff were outstanding. Our food didn't take too long and was delicious. The atmosphere was jovial. As we were leaving another customer - a complete stranger - offered to drive us back to the airport. This just summed up how great a wee place it is. Would definitely recommend 👍 and if I participate in the Great North Run next year I'll be including a visit to the Badger 😊
Z. B.
Food is always amazing! Would not go anywhere else for Sunday lunch (the prawn and lobster cocktail for start and the turkey roast for main) staff are always pleasant, friendly and up-beat and it is a nice chilled environment. Great location with the chance to sit indoors or out depending on the weather
M. R.
Lovely building with range of decent real ales. Location is on a busy road which makes for easy access but not much in the way of a view. Free plentiful parking. The food is a bit of a conundrum. I've had both excellent and terrible meals at the Badger. The service is usually good, the staff friendly and helpful, although they can be pretty busy. The menu is set by Vintage Inns so fairly standard. Sometimes the food attempts to be a bit gimmicky. Overall I'll definitely go back, but choose carefully from the menu.
S. K.
Been coming here on and off for 20 years plus, one of the best vintage inns, doesn't feel like a chain pub, usually good service but can be very busy.
First visit of 2022, have 2 beautifully cooked steaks ( medium rare as requested), got our favourite table in front corner by 🔥, pity not on( chimney Blocked) , great service as always, it's the one pub we always go back to..
F. B.
Lovely meal, good service.
A. A.
Hi Peter, I gave 3 stars as I have previously had a lovely Sunday dinner with you guys. On Tuesday we came in and I ordered the steak sandwich with fried onions and it came out cold with just raw onions in. I sent it back and the replacement was better cooked however the onions were burnt. Just not what I expected from reading it on the menu. It was disappointing as we waited ages to start with then the others ate theirs and we're done by the time I got mine. I chose the triple cooked chips and they looked pale and were still slightly hard. However our deserts were really nice.
l. k.
There has been quite an improvement here. We had the prawn and lobster cocktail and the scallops with black pudding starters and a sticky toffee pudding with custard . All perfectly cooked and prepared. Our server was Jack he was very helpful and attentive making sure we had all we wanted and he served us at the table . Always a good atmosphere here and now the food has improved I will come back
G. B.
Great pub food a short walk from Newcastle airport
G. H.
Good meal and excellent wine
M. N.
This was an absolutely amazing experience. The atmosphere was lovely and the people are friendly. But, I have to commend them on their food. The food got to us quickly and everything was warm and perfectly cooked to our references. I would definitely come back to The Badger Restaurant at any time and would reccomend anyone who has a love for food. Absolutely outstanding. Thanks.
C. C.
Went on 11/08/20 for food after work. The waitress that served us was extremely polite and friendly. Food was amazing as always. You definitely need to book in advance as we saw about 5 or 6 people get turned away.
G. L.
The food was delicious and well presented the young lady who served us was very polite and helpful
C. G.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and service. I've been a few times and keep going back. It is quite expensive but its totally worth it!
S. R.
Table was nice and staff were welcoming and friendly
Anne was very helpful
D. T. -. J.
This is an excellent restaurant and bar. Beer is great, you've got a choice of the usual bar lagers/ales plus a number of local ones. They got all the spirits, gin vodka etc whatever your poison they'll have it. The service is above and beyond, super friendly staff and they bring your meal very fast. The food is absolutely incredible, I've eaten here multiple times and each time they've outdone themselves to an extent far beyond what I expected. I can recommend their Sunday roast as well as the fish and chips. I can't speak for vegan/vegi or gluten free etc but if their other menu options are anything to go by I'd say you can't go wrong really. Try this place out, you won't regret it...
J. A.
This was our second visit for us as our first time we were so pleased with the food, but this time the menu has changed!
We had the sunday turkey and beef dinners which had a selection of Mediterranean vegetables on the plate with gravy on (courgette, peppers and onions) ...which just tasted weird and just didn't look right on the plate! The roast potatoes were hard as if they had been cooked a while ago and kept warm and the broccoli wasn't cooked either. Plus everything was luke warm. Disappointing!
B. B.
Friendly accomodating staff, much improved compared to a few years ago when under a different chain (water injected chicken anyone?). Now food is several levels above, well cooked and the staff seem proud of what they do. Top marks for allergy care. Decent selection of ales.
C. W.
Good Pub food at good price. The Badger is an old establishment that has a lovely atmosphere. Its tastefully decorated and laid out. Staff are really pleasant and professional.
L. C.
Massively overpriced pub grub. Was tasty enough. Service was alright. But what I would consider a £50 meal. 1 starter 2 burgers and 5 drinks. Cost £90. But I suppose that's the perks for them of being near the airport. Would give 5 stars at half the price.
E. G.
Amazing. The flower pot desert is superb.
P. S.
Great place for lunch with the family . We went for lunch got a table next to one of the fireplaces which just made the whole meal even more enjoyable.
Staff very attentive and lunchtime menu very good value.
We will definitely be returning.
s. k.
Just love this place. Many staff members have been there 10 plus years. You just know that the owners must treat staff well. Great pub, food decent. Been going there for years. Love the place. In winter get the fires on and you'll be loving the winter wonderland vibe. Jack, a lonf time member of staff is as nice as they come.
S. L.
Lovely atmosphere. Always enjoyed a vintage Inn. However food wasn't as good as some of the others I have been. Service outstanding!
T. O.
Came here while on a short vacation. Was a little lost when we first entered but was seated by a very polite staff member. Once seated we were greeted by our waitress (paige I think her name was) she was extremely friendly and lovely to talk to.
Me and my partner had egg and bacon as a starter which was amazing and had a lovely glaze over it.
For mains we both had the 7oz burger, it was delicious and came out piping hot, it also came with a ginger beer glaze which my partner said was lovely.
We went for the cookie and ice cream for desserts which was also amazing.
Waiting time was a little long but well worth it. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Will be back next time we're in the area.
N. C.
Decent food, had the lamb as they were out of beef, pork and turkey! Although it was late afternoon on a Sunday, so can be understandable I guess. My extra Yorkshire was missing and I wanted some extra gravy. These were brought to the table after mentioning it though. Staff were all plesent and the pub itself was nice. So I may return when passing one day.
A. R.
The Badger is always excellent. You should go!
W. L.
It was my first visit here but I will be returning. Excellent food in pleasant surroundings with friendly and attentive staff.
E. S. m.
I love this place! Ive had a few evening meals here and always find the staff extremely friendly, helpful and very polite.
A great layout and comfortable. Parking is ideal and toilet facilities fine.
The badger has great accessibility for disabled parking and toilets.
Family friendly as its not rowdy tho still busy
A. K.
Lovely food and lovely staff..Secondtime at this place could not fault anything...would Highley recommend going
S. R.
Visited The Badger when passing through Newcastle on a return journey from Scotland so I only tried the lunch time sandwiches which were very good. I also saw several main meals being served to other customers and these also looked very good. The service was very efficient and the staff were all friendly. Well worth a visit.
S. E.
Lovely food. Excellent staff, friendly and inviting.
J. W.
We stopped here for a midweek lunch. It was good value: we paid just under £60 for 4 adult meals, 4 soft drinks and a children’s meal. The quality of the food was a bit hit and miss, some meals were good and some were only okay. The server was very attentive and friendly.
C. M.
Lovely friendly country pub. Fantastic food and ambience. Can also bring your dog!
L. W.
Disappointed we couldn't get food as kitchen staff where off for a few days.
D. H.
Friday evening meal for two; set menu lots of choice including steak 3 courses for under £20. Good size portions, really tasty. Busy night so our plates weren't cleared the second we finished but not a problem as nice atmosphere and good company.
A. b.
Just been to The Badger for a quick lunch. We were met by a waiter called Lewis who was very polite and informative in telling us about the menu. I opted for the burger and chips, which is my usual everywhere I go. It arrived within 10 minutes and looked amazing. It's taste was exceptional. I can't recommend the burger here enough. Compliments to the chef and to Lewis who gave us a very memorable experience.
K. B.
Swung in here for lunch on way back from simonside hills, first time visit. Beautiful pub with friendly staff. The food had so much flavour and was beautifully presented and fairly priced. Would definitley visit again. Thank you!
N. I.
Nice family (and dog) friendly pub. Good choice of food and very tasty options. Some ni nice cheaper menus available on certain days - went on a Saturday and got 2 courses for £22 with drink included. Nice spot to make a day of the trip to garden centre alongside the dog.
A. S.
The food here is really good, not the cheapest but well worth the money, plenty of choice on the menu. Staff friendly and helpful. Toilets upstairs and disabled down, virus rules well in place, lots of spaced out rooms comfy and clean.
L. B.
Great craic from the staff. Very down to earth pub, food good.
K. T.
The food here was lovely, freshly cooked. Service excellent. Felt safe in the environment. Highly recommended.
D. H.
Bit out the way but worth the trip. Had a sharing platter for starter which was delicious especially the breaded cheese and for main had the wagyu burger which looked like it was going to be dry but it was one of the best burgers I've had. Brilliant would definetly go again and recommend to others.
A. F.
Lovely pub with good food, good size portions and lots of kids choices. We came here for a family anniversary meal at lunch time, booked a table online easily the day before. Was easy to get to on the way from kirkley hall back to the city. We will definitely be coming back
P. W.
Went in on spur of the moment with a friend, staff were very attentive and friendly. Food was hot and very good would definitely go back.
S. L.
Went before going to Newcastle airport. Lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Beats waiting in long queues and being squashed in an airport restaurant. Picked off the fixed price lunch menu. Good portions and the kids cleared their plates. Happy family all round. No complaints.
C. W.
Its many years since we were last here because we were put off by a bad sunday lunch we had which was cold. However we thought we will try it again as it is a lovely cosy pub.we ordered fish and chips. My husband was fine but I could not eat mine as the batter was soggy inside and not cooked. When my husband had finished his my second one came. It was a bit better but I still left quite a bit as the inside batter was still not cooked properly and was soggy. So disappointing.
D. B.
Came here for a meal and drinks before our holiday and WOW this is the perfect place to come.
The food is amazing 10/10 staff are lovely and friendly and the manager even gave us a lift to another pub as they didn't have sky sports.
I very rarely write reviews but the badger needed to be complemented, Well recommended and a must place to go,
p.s see yous when we land.
H. G.
Lovely warm inviting place. Great staff and the food was very nice too and at a reasonable price. We were there for 4hours in a group eating and chatting and they didn't rush you at all. Definitely will be back again.
a. c.
What a fabulous time we had last night for my sons 18th birthday. The food was gorgeous, well presented and hot. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were so pleasant and helpful. Most in our party had never been to The Badger, but every single one said they will definitely be returning. Thank you to all the staff for making my sons evening so very special!
D. S.
Tasty food but rather erratic service. I was ignored at the bar whilst several regular customers were served immediately. A ten minute wait for a table turned into half an hour as they forgot we were waiting, even though they'd taken our name into their booking system. Again regulars seemed to just slide in. Fortunately, once seated our waitress was excellent and went some way to rectify things.
L. h.
Haven't been here for many a year but so pleased we returned. Lovely two course lunch, garlic mushrooms and pate followed by beef in red wine pie. Delicious. Excellent service and staff.
C. H.
I made a reservation for 4 at quite short notice and was very pleased at how well the process worked. We all enjoyed a main course meal .The service was good.
B. H.
Lovely pub, good food, friendly staff
W. C.
A lovely bar/restaurant with beautiful food at very reasonable prices. A varied menu too.
M. V.
Would I go to another Vintage inn - not if I had a better option. Booked evening meal here for family of 9 the night before our daughters graduation at Newcastle university. Location great for our stay in the Premier Inn Callerton Parkway (highly recommended) just up the road. I had the 3 course menu and two of us chose the rump steak. We asked for it medium (it was pink and rather tough). Lobster & prawn cocktail was nice. Mini apple pie and tea to finish was nice. I appreciate it must be difficult to get 9 meals out at the same time but quality of Vintage inn food has got worse over the last 12 months. We have also experienced this at home at the Cow and Calf Ilkley. Not bad but not good either. Decor tasteful. Waiter made up for it. He was friendly but professional.
S. N.
Has always been a favourite of mine to frequent. Lovely country pub with a warm atmosphere and great food. Would highly recommend this place. It has also been recently refurbished and looks great. When booking ask if you can get a table near their open fireplace!
I. H.
Called in with my Dad for the second time in 6 weeks. Only wanted a couple of pints. The staff were really friendly and the duty manager recognised us from the first time we were there, I'm not sure whether that says positive things about the staff or negative things about my Dad and me. Beer was spot on, my Dad particularly likes the Bass. The atmosphere, we were there early doors, was spot on and it a lovely building. Cheers! 🍺
A. D.
Lovely rustic pub/restaurant, with exposed brick walls, thick wooden beams and traditional decor. The food and service was excellent and great value for money. Would definitely eat here again.
P. R.
Would highly recommend this pub/restaurant. Went to this pub two weeks ago, it has just been revamped and is lovely with a homey atmosphere. Staff were brilliant, fast service, pleasant and helpful. The food was superb and according to my husband the beer was excellent. Overall couldn't be faulted.
S. M.
We went to the badger for Sunday lunch. Kids portion are really good and the adults food is excellent. Can't fault the food.
We sat in the extension and the heating wasn't switched on, unfortunately we had to sit with our coats on to stay warm. I wouldn't stay again if I had to sit in the extension
S. W.
Called in for a drink while waiting for my husband to pick up our son from the airport flying in from NZ - Mothers day so the place was so busy but the manager managed to find me a small table which was so kind, as was the very friendly lady behind the bar. We have ate there before so ee know the food it good, excellent customer service today.
J. G.
We are an independent training company and one of our clients required the training sessions with their management team to be delivered off site and they booked the function room the Badger. The location and room worked very well.
Most importantly, the team at the Badger looked after us throughout the day. The standard of service, responsiveness and quality of the food was outstanding. A special thanks to Joanna for her assistance and her friendly and professional approach and the team who supported her.
I will be using the venue again for both business and social occasions and have no hesitation in recommending the venue to other clients. Thanks again John 😀
G. W.
Beautiful meal as always. Although very busy they were able to find us a table. Staff friendly and attentive. Will be going back and would definitely recommend.
G. E.
Had boxing day here with whole family.Staff and food absolutely fantastic.Thank you and compliments to the chef.x
G. a. s. P.
Outstanding quality and service the female staff member was very pleasant and helpful 👍 👌 👏 😀 …
M. D.
Food was wonderful nice staff in Nice setting but food a bit pricey but suppose you get what you pay for
M. C.
Pretty good food, but service was a little sluggish. Wasn't too bad for those who had starters, but those only having mains had an hour long wait before they got any food. Gave four stars still because of the food quality.
C. M.
Lunch after Airport Drop off.
Beats paying inflated prices for food in Airport
Just 5 minutes down the road from Newcastle Airport it's convenient and next to Dobbies Garden Centre .....so 3 birds with one stone!!!
We arrived 12.45 Saturday lunchtime. very busy. Good choice reasonably priced food.
My main issues are only one person serving behind bar so very slow. Needs at least two people! Poor bar man was run ragged. Second issue...hot food on cold plates! Please hot food should be served on hot/warmed plates as keeps food hot longer....basic stuff.
Meal I had was good portion and tasty.
My 4th visit in 18 months.
Will be back but hope more staff next time !
S. B.
Excellent atmosphere and friendly welcome not to mention the great Sunday roast!!
C. S.
Lovely beer on offer, which was my main criterion. Nice surroundings and friendly chatty staff. I was on my own, but felt comfortable here. I've been to all three pubs in ponteland tonight and this is the nicest.
K. K.
We were a bit disappointed with the salad leaves with the steak but everything else, including the staff, were fabulous so I couldn't bring myself to dock a whole star. 4.98.
S. S.
I will give our recent family visit to The Badger the rating I think it deserves on behalf of us all. There were a lot of us and we have been there many times over the past few years for birthday, wedding anniversary and just meals we enjoyed.
However! I should have left the risotto from the new menu where it was. After all my years of cooking I know risotto needs time and patience to cook. What was served may please some but I thought it tasteless even with the added scallops etc., It came after everyone else was served which was as it should be, but why offer food which can be difficult to cook properly and needs serving straight away. It was, on this occasion, a disappointing choice and I left this tasteless, cool, watery meal on its plate. Every one else enjoyed their meal and the service was excellent so we will continue to dine here as usual.
S. L.
Not quite gastro-pub perhaps, but food certainly of a higher standard than one often encounters. Generally not much natural daylight so a bit on the dark side in summer but very cozy in winter. Good for Sunday lunch with reasonably prompt service. Recent experience, however, was slightly disappointing as although the main course was decent enough, the sweet – a fruit crumble – was slightly burned and contained hardly any fruit.
A. G.
Quick stop while staying over waiting to go to Newcastle Airport.
J. T.
The food was excellent as was the service
H. s.
Loved this cosy pub great ambiance. Food was amazing and being veggie was a great choice. Also was first time in years enjoyed a glass of alcohol free wine with my meal as against lemonade. Highly recommend
g. h.
Lovely meal before our flight to Greece, food & service excellent, beer expensive.
L. s. T.
Well worth a visit, really beautiful, fab food but also very relaxed
A. B.
Good service, polite and non-intrusive. Starter was very nice of calamari and garlic mushroom. But the mains were average and luke warm which was a let down. Hunters chicken was cold and small. Steak pie was messy and too flaky with dried out microwave ed mash.
The dessert were delicious and worth the main being a let down.
The worst part was having to observe a very loud pub punter her husband and two dogs getting louder the more they drank and the woman French kissing her dog repeatedly with tongues - quite grotesque....
g. t.
Very good food was fantastic and staff were very nice
D. C.
Really nice place with lovely ambiance. The log fire was lit which was great at this time of year, the food was great and the service was excellent and timely. Very covid safe with tables well spaced and all the recommended precautions in place.
E. H.
We were there for a funeral tea so the food was already provided. However it was very nice. We had to ask for tea as only coffee was provided but it was nice and hot when it arrived. All in all very nice.
J. C.
Had two courses off the vegan menu which were delicious. The Sunday dinner was also great according to my meat eating companion. I'll definately go back. .
s. f.
When we walked in we were told there were no sunday roast left but people were getting them when thay came in after us. Food was ok service was slow. I had the fillet steak which was nice but disappointed with the chips. When you pay over £20 for a stake you would expect hand cut chips not par fryed processed ones witch we got.
B. S.
Normally we love this place and the food is excellent but we booked a table for 3 and the table we had was barely big enough for 2. I think when you spend nearly £70 for Sunday lunch for 2 adults and a toddler you would just expect a better experience than being crammed onto a tiny table
s. h.
Been to the badger a few times. Food was delicious and portion size is huge. Staff are great. Will definitely be bck soon. Definitely worth visiting.
F. M.
Had an excellent meal there with great service, but very annoyingly you can't order of the special holiday puddings without ordering any of the mains. Simply ridiculous what's the point of having holiday special starters or puddings if you can only order them if you want turkey, very disappointing.
N. T.
We had coconut chicken and pizza. Nice wine too. Relaxed atmosphere and very private with lots of nooks and booths.
Plenty of parking. Worth a visit and very near to Newcastle Airport.
x. y.
Food OK. Service really slow and confusing. We were scolded for sitting at a 'dirty table' despite them all being dirty and being told to sit anywhere not reserved. One lovely waitress doing her best, despite the disorganisation.
A. J.
Wonderful staff. Gorgeous clean setting. Fabulous food at an acceptable price 😋 …
C. D.
This was mine my husbands first meal out in ages and couldn’t have picked a better place food was spot on staff were amazing very courteous on the door and our waiter jack was such a lovely lad was just lush thanks x
J. I.
A very nice country style pub. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend.
A. R.
Lovely Pub, decor is gorgeous and the staff are really friendly. Dog friendly as well.
D. W.
Great food, great service in a warm and hospitable location. A regular haunt with my family for many years.
A. H.
Lovely setting, food was absolutely lovely and service was impeccable
P. G.
Great food & good selection of beers. Nice boozer.
C.
Sunday roast a hit - go for the trio!
d. f.
Have vidoted the Badger on a number of occasions and enjoyed the food .
On this occasion wecalled in at 7pmm and was disappointed due yo3 the poor choice on offer ,many of the menu chioces being off. Also the service was not up to its previous standard ..Nontheless food we eventually ordered despite being our 3rd choice was good.
I. R.
Lovely warm atmosphere. Polite and attentive service. Wide ranging menu. Good wholesome food. And excellent beer! What more could you ask?
m. k.
Good food, lovely atmosphere, VERY dog friendly. Great Sunday lunch and good outdoor area.
C. B.
Good pub with decent selection of beers and pleasant indoor and outside areas. My only disappointment was over the price of a pint. £4.50 for a pint of landlord is a bit steep!
C. T.
Lovely rustic feeling to this pub and a nice atmosphere. Extensive menu offering choices for all palettes. Seperate area to take your dogs into which is great
B. M.
Lovely homely environment.
Always a great selection of beers and very friendly staff.
Large variety of options on the food menu and I’m yet to have a bad meal!
Highly recommend
C. K.
The meal was fabulous as was the service and the staff.
g. w.
A most pleasent atomsphere on a horrible night food was top notch too thoroughly enjoyed it will most certainly be back soon
K.
Fantastic service and great homely environment ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
S. W.
Lovely pub with large selection of beers and GREAT wines too. Food is always delicious (not microwaved fayre of cheaper pubs). A li'l bit more expensive than your local but worth it.
K. B.
Just had a lovely steak and mini dessert and tea. A superb meal, just the right amount. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
P. R.
Amazing food very friendly staff .I would go back anytime 😊 …
J. H.
Really enjoyed the Sunday roast 😋 …
I. H.
Hosting friends from London, who were impressed with northern hospitalitalty. Great bar, great beer, great atmosphere. If you get the chance, ask the bar staff if the pineapple is from Peru and whats the difference between batter and butter
J.
Great beers and cocktails, a short impressive menu that makes you drool just reading it! I've always put this place in my diary when im in the area on business over the years, and they always impress with their professionalism and service.
J. S.
Expensive but very good service and food😁 …
G. B.
Beautiful restaurant. The only complaint l found was expecting the belly pork to have crackling on it.
K. P.
Roast potatoes were not the best par boiled then put in oven to brown no fat poured on them poor
m. m.
Could do a lot more on there gluten free menu. But friendly great staff
A. K.
Limited vegan options. Juice from jackfruit was running in rivers down my wrap which to be honest wasnt good. They had run out of the only vegan dessert option
J. H.
Absolutely excellent meal and the staff are so helpful and friendly
C. C.
Four of us were in the Badger for lunch today for my birthday. We each enjoyed every course and our waiter, Jack gave excellent service and was cheerful, friendly and polite. We will be back.
D. J.
This was the first time I had been there but heard good things from friends. It didn't disappoint. The food was good and the service was attentive without being overpowering
M. T.
Beautiful pub, so friendly, welcomes dogs and muddy walkers as well as fine diners. Great location and setting. Superb food. Seriously. What more could you want?
D. P.
Good food and friendly helpful staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere in the pub as well
D. B.
Lovely meal in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. All staff were brilliant, nice to see people going about their work with smiles on their faces
G. T.
very exspensive not really value for money as a lot of the items are so much cheaper same quality in shops like b&m sadly won't be visiting again
L. F.
Had a lovely evening, food (mains and sweets) lovely and the staff were extremely attentive, taking drinks orders from the table and bringing them to us. Big 👍. …
E.
Absolutely Brilliant! Food was lovely, the atmosphere was lovely and the service was fantastic (Thanks Oscar!)
J. M.
Lovely food and great service.
C. W.
Hi a very nice lunch, great company and very attentive welcoming staff.
F. C.
We eat here regularly.. at least a few times a month. Home from home dog friendly and no judgement when eating after a visit to the stables. Lovely staff and lovely food
D. H.
Nice place for a quick drink on the way to the airport
M. K.
Food is probably the best you'll find in a pub location. Outstanding beef rib and large, tasty starters. £20 for 2 courses you can't go wrong.
J. M.
Good food, lovely cosy atmosphere and excellent service.our first visit but would highly recomend.
J. Y.
Lovely food, very friendly, helpful staff
S. H.

R. S.
Good food, lovely setting. Service was great. And the Yorkshire pudding was the size of my three year olds head!
M. J.
Lovely Meal Staff very helpful & Friendly
R. H.
Above average out of the way pub. Grandiose menu descriprions but food is average. No complaints at all though so get in and enjoy the lovely front or back garden in the sun. Nice place quite busy
A. A.
Thought this was ok. Not been for a while and it's a whole lot easier now since they take your order at the table. The portion size was about right and the device was pretty quick.
L. H.
Only stayed for a pre-flight real ale drink. Wish I could have stayed longer. Lovely decor with lovely spaces and seating arrangements, if I fly from Newcastle again I'd love to pop in.
P. B.
Been in before lively pub, but git to admit this time just was waiting in car park, cos was picking someone at Aerport
A. R.
Incredibly long wait for food. Small portions. Vef was overcooked however the calamari and tempura prawn starter was good, as was the meat on the roast dinner.
K. M.
Great menu with good value for money meals. Delicious food. Attentive and pleasant staff.
K. G.
Very nice place . Only called in for a couple of pints but that was long enough for me to decide that I would certainly call again and have a meal and stay longer. Good choice of draught beers.
D. W.
Nice food although a bit expensive, service could be quicker. Friendly staff.
s. w.
Good food and great atmosphere, especially in the winter with open fires.

It a lovely pub with good service and the meal, a rib-eye steak was spot on. Car park is in a strange place as you have to go into the garden centre. Pint of doombar was spot on as always.

I've came over from Ireland and have to say the staff were very very helpful, the beer was clean and crisp and not too dear for where the badger is situated, haven't tried the food yet but if the beer and the Craic is as good as I reckon the food will be I will definitely be back

Always enjoy a great meal if anyone never enjoyed a meal here they should just go somewhere else
The staff and food are A1 and if it's value for money you want you can't get better if you want to eat in a Gordon Ramsey style you have to pay for it.

Great food, quiet corners for families with children, good choice of real ale and great table service. Easy parking too
