This pub is well worth a visit or two. Good selection of beers, a friendly atmosphere and cosy surroundings. The staff were brilliant. Very welcoming and keen to give any pointers if you can't make your mind up what to have. Get yourself round here.

I wrote this review five years ago, and still stand by it, except that the benches have been refurbished, the beer selection is now even better, and it did indeed stay! "Very nice indeed. A steady stream of customers ambling in to sample a few excellent beers. A good mix of some local real ale standards (Allendale Adder, Cullercoats Polly Donkin) and some new and unusual beers. Do have a look at the cans menu - the Coffee Porter is a find! The benches are a little small, but, let's face it, you're in a micropub and 'small' comes with the territory. I actually ending up making some new friends with the people sharing my bench, which was nice. Overall a bit of a find, a welcome change for those of us at the Civic Centre wanting a change from the Five Swans, and a great use for a building which has been through a few incarnations. Hopefully this one will stay!"

Brilliant micro pub! Amos really looked after during our stay for the evening, we felt very safe, all measure were being followed. Cask, keg and the bottle list were brilliant and Amos was ready to make recommendations for beers we'd like and we bought a lot! Locals were super friendly and we felt very welcome. One of the highlights of our trip to Newcastle.

Fantastic little ale House that is easily missed, being in a basement. Definitely worth looking out for though. Serving a great variety of keg and cask beers, with an excellent selection in the fridge too. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Can get drinks in two-thirds, halves or pints. You can pay by card with no minimum spend, and they take American express too! Enjoy!

An absolutely top ale house. Its in a basement so don't walk past. The selection of local cask ale is awesome with a mixed clientele. I mean old ale drinkers and younger people enjoying life. Large table with bench seat, so be prepared to share. Go on live a little it's worth a visit

The best pub in Newcastle, small but perfectly formed. Approx 4 casks and 6-8 kegs on the go at any one time with a well stocked fridge in support. Also hosts plenty of events and tap takeovers by a range of brewers quick area always friendly and welcoming to all. Helpful, knowledgeable staff too, and just celebrated their 5th Birthday, hopefully many more to come.

Probably the best pub in town. Beer selection is top notch. They always have a great selection of keg and cask as well as fridges full of lovely cans and the like. Staff are always lovely, always fun to chat to and really know their stuff.

Perfect, great spot in town to get good beer from great breweries. With so many smaller breweries producing great quality beer now places like the Town Mouse are the way ahead. If you sup Foster's or John Smith's you may be disappointed or you may be converted!

My friends and I have been multiple times over the last couple of weeks after stumbling across the pub walking home. We absolutely love it and have recommended it to as many people as we can! We even reserved a table nearly 6 weeks in advance for an upcoming birthday to ensure we wouldn't miss out.

Excellent pub situated in the heart of Newcastle. The manager John and his staff are incredible hosts. They'll take you through the covid measures and once seated and served will check in with you to ensure all your needs are met. The choice of local beers and ales were superb. I enjoyed a larger brewed in Hartlepool Northern Helles, a pint of Bad Kitty and a pint of Believe. There looked to be a good selection of spirits and the fridges were stocked with cans so plenty of choice. I wasn't surprised to find out they were booked that evening. So I'd reserve a table.

Really appreciate the the printed beer lists including dietary information, I recently became vegan and was concerned it would be difficult to choose beers without animal-derived finings, but I needn't have worried.

One of the best bars in town. They have a great selection of drinks and the atmosphere inside is nice and friendly. The bar itself is tucked away in a basement and its quite small, so get there early if you want a table. Staff are great too and they're dog friendly. Highly recommended.

What a quirky little place. It is a little basement bar where the staff were so welcoming and helpful. It isn't very big but even the customers were friendly and willing to share their tables with us. We visited about three hours after our first visit and they remembered what drinks we had ordered earlier and asked if we had had a pleasant evening, which I found to be a very nice end to a lovely evening.

Love this quirky little bar. Excellent choice of beer and a great atmosphere. Love that you can choose to have 2/3 of a pint as my beer capacity isn't as great as my drinking pals but a half is just too short. The only downside for my slightly dodgy knee is the access down quite steep steps with a partial handrail.

Such a great little pub, well deserving of the CAMRA rewards its received. Great staff who know their stuff about the beers they sell and very enthusiastic. The beers they have on tap change regularly with a good range. Pricing is spot on, especially given its location. I always make an effort to go there whenever I'm in town. Dog friendly.

Quite simple this one!! Tiz the bollocks of a micro pub with damned fine ales (inc cask, keg, can n bottles of a wide variety) n ciders! Oh... n all the staff are extremely friendly.. but watch out for some of the bar hugging regulars who'll if you let them advise you to go for that rather pleasant 10.5% beauty😋! So if you is up on the toon pop in.. you won't be disappointed.. I wasn't.. but then again i like bar hugging😉
