We stopped by the Three Tuns on our Hadrian's Wall hike as we passed through Heddon-on-the-wall. Apart from being very hungry from the 15 miles we'd already hiked that day, their Sunday roast would have been wolfed down regardless. The service was very quick and efficient, we ordered one beef and one lamb dinner and it was amazing. Just like a proper home-cooked roast, warming and wholesome. For pudding, we shared a sticky toffee pud which was equally as delicious. A perfect ending to the meal. The staff were very accommodating to our need for endless glasses of ice water too! The price was great for the portions we got. Would definitely recommend anyone hiking Hadrian's to stop in to refuel and rehydrate!

Stopped here for a meal and a pint on our way along Hadrians wall. Nice local pub good selection, got served quickly and was very helpful. Food was proper pub food, great priced and loved it. Really recommend it. Steak & ale with peas chips and loads of gravy, original lasagne came with garlic bread.

First time for Sunday Lunch. Service was excellent,food was hot and full of flavour. Gravy was ace. I had super size beef and lamb. Meat was so tender. Definitely be back. Excellent beer too

The man who done the quiz is one of the nicest guys I've met! Very accommodating and polite. Food is very good value, plenty of it and tasted awesome! sadly I didn't take any picture.

Hard to judge as it was a pit stop for us, not very busy, so lacked a little atmosphere. The photos give the impression it's a country pub in a little village but it's actually set at the junction of two busy roads. Pleasant lady who served us.

Very nice helpful staff and surprisingly very nice lunch cheese n beef burger with trimmings x 2 and a lovely veg lasagne with side salad and garlic bread slices all at very reasonable prices. Coffee great too. The beer was well accepted by the gent we just had soft drinks all round very nice. Wooden seats a bit painful after a while but we did a lot of catching up so stayed longer than comfort allowed

We booked a table for Sunday lunch yesterday first time in this pub. The food was delicious, a very tasty, well presented Sunday lunch the Beef that I had fell apart and same with Lamb my husband had. You had an opinion of meats and also plate size, I had a regular but probably should of had a small as plate was still too much for myself. Desserts were delicious too especially the sticky toffee pudding choice of ice-cream or custard, I had custard very nice indeed. Staff were very friendly and welcoming Definitely recommend. 👍

Recently redecorated with new carpet and curtains. Bar area looking very smart. Newly decorated toilets too. Very friendly staff. Made very welcome. Had a very tasty cheese and ham toastie. Looking forward to Sunday lunch there.

We had an impromptu Sunday roast here. The staff where extremely polite and helpful. The dinner arrived on plates the size of cart wheels packed with a generous amount of meat and vegetables. The price of which was amazingly value for the man size portions delivered. There are some nice beers to try for those who are not driving.

Nice building, welcoming outside and interior. Staff very helpful. Good clean pint of larger, although the ale selection is often poor. Come here when I want a good value Sunday roast. But left feeling robbed yesterday as the childs roast is cheaper than a small adults yet theres more on the childs plate????? Quality of the food is there, great effort and decent food.

Just had Sunday lunch here for the 1st time . It was delicious succulent lamb and pork , veg were cooked perfectly , gravy was very tasty . will definitely return . did not try the desserts as diet would not allow , but they looked lovely .

Stopped in here for a night while walking Hadrian's wall. Phil the Land Lord was brilliant and welcoming. THe room was great and the sitting room and kitchen area provided a warm and welcoming area away from the main bar. I took supper in the main bar and enjoyed some good pub grub. The pub is used by locals and there's a pool table in the back bar. I would recommend this as a stop over on a Hadrian's wall walk either the night before the last walk into Newcastle, or after Starting the walk and heading west.
