A.Visited on the 29th January 2022.. A proper Rock venue. No messing. Fine selection of ales to indulge in. Decent prices too. Open late and obviously Live Music on tap. Free to get in is always good. Went to see the Van Halen tribute band Van Hailen. Spot on! Sound was a bit mixed but maybe it’s because it’s a fairly small venue. Punters didn’t seem to mind though. All enjoyed. Canny Q for the bar but that’s because the place is popular. Basically, a decent night out for Rock fans. We need more like this..

Of course; a Duke-box crammed with decades of music to suit all your rock and metal tastes? Check! Friendly punters and good staff? Absolutely! A dark and sweaty retreat where we can hide from grim normality? You bet ya! Trillians is an absolute delight and it stands out as we become a nation where there are so few bastions of rock and metal left. Bars like Trillians continue to serve old and new generations of alternative music fans and provide us with a refuge where we can find a fun and boozy night! Here I feel at home. Can't wait for my next visit!

B.Great bar tucked away from many of the others. Only plays rock and metal music so don't expect to hear the latest chart music. Because of this you get a different group of punters drinking here compared to other pubs in town. Very cheap non alcoholic lager - £1.50 for Heineken 0.0, which was half the price of other bars. Only downside is it was cash only payments. Despite this I'd highly recommend a visit.
L. W.Nice place to catch up with friend/friends it's laid back and a good place to have a chat while listening to music I wouldn't normally listen to very often but which I enjoy. I have been their many times and have had no bad experiences and the people who get in their all seem nice. All in all I enjoy drinking there and will go back time and time again.

P. A.Brilliant place for yes you guessed it live rock music. Every time I have been the band's have been too class. Everything from tribute bands through to stand alone bands with there own sets. Drinks are very reasonably priced. A round of four pints Inc a bottle of brown ale was £13.

J. F.Used to go here in the 80s/90s was a great bar but i heard it went down hill as i live in the south now. I here it is run now by my old friend Hilly who used to be the sound engineer for years there. I got to say i always liked it when it was the Jubilee and the bar was in the middle.

Lovely staff and a good selection of drinks. Ive only eaten here a few times and the food has been nice. It does get very hot in here on summer evenings so worth wearing light clothes on hot nights.

I still remember when it was originally renamed to Trillians decades ago and they tried to open it as a 12 inch disco mix pub and barred all the rockers. Lasted about a week with no trade... Saw the Force last night. Great set guys.

Lighting is a bit low. The pub is below ground level so there are not really windows either.

Reasonable prices, live music & not only that but the lovely bar manageress walks up and down the bar looking for people who need serving. Not something you see everywhere. D. M.Haven't been here in years, but a recent burger award prompted a lunch time trip. Can't say it lived up to expectations. The place itself is...let's say caters to a certain crowd. The underground nature lends itself to its 'dive' status and the stale beer smell that hits you on the way in. Though that choice of beer is limited.
Still, the staff were friendly and the price was reasonable. The burger itself was quite tasty, if plain, even for a basic burger. Chips and salad complemented but neither particularly great.
Best thing was the interior. Old school rock. Walls lined with posters and picture discs on the ceiling. Stay classy Trillians.

S. S.A wonderful thematic rock bar near Newcastle city centre. Regularly hosts gigs by local bands, and the acoustics/sound are more than adequate. Has an authentic interior and a great selection of reasonably priced drinks - you can try Mötley Crüe ale or Iron Maiden beer, for example. The only concerns: it is pretty hard to find for the first time without keeping your eyes on the map, and the bar is in the basement, so it is quite dark.

Drinks are priced reasonably and doesn't put a big dent on your pocket .

J. T.It's ok changed quite a bit over the years but I still like it. Simply because you hear all the time now about how every section of society has to have "equal rights". That's fine as long as you are prepared to contribute by working hard, paying your taxes, etc.
The reason I like Trillians pub is because it's a rock bar, and some of the most accepting, tolerant people I have ever met have been the rock fans in Newcastle.
Plus they have the beer my favourite band created with Robinson's Brewery. It's called the Trooper after a song by Iron Maiden which was based on the charge of the light ,brigade in the Crimean war.

J. T.Ok, not great but I have been going there for the best part of 25 years. I mean really it has not really changed that much in that time. Erm there is big barrels instead of tables but the biggest change is the jukebox has gone, which is a miss.
As for the beers ok selection I personally think the Hobgoblin is a bit watery, John Smith's is quite nice as is the Trooper beer as well.

Newcastle's in desperate need of rock oriented bars and as a result of there being very few now, since Legends got bought out/went bankrupt there's only been dedicated nights in generic bars for enthusiasts to seek out. This place has an awesome atmosphere and is a bit on the scruffy side, but who cares, it's cheap! Win.

L.This place has changed hands numerous times and it's been hit and miss. The old tables with the CDs under the glass have returned, and the decor is back to its dark self, but lacks some of the original charm. The selection of beers is getting better, but as of September 2015 the jukebox is still missing, and the music selection is questionable (not even always from the Rock/Metal/Punk genres!). Still worth a visit on the nights with live music though!

E. S.After a few pints I felt really hungry so ordered the Red Hot Chilli Pepper burger.
The burger was amazing and the chips were fried to perfection. My mates stared at the food in utter jealousy. I reluctantly shared my chips out with them and we've decided that from now on we'll be getting our food at Trills rather than the mediocre fast food places in the area.
The only reason that I only gave 4 out of 5 stars is that the style of rock played is often not to my taste, but that's my personal opinion and shouldn't detract from Trillian's ambiance.
The gents toilets could do with stronger air fresheners though.
