Reviews of Blaina Wharf
A. W.
We stumbled across this pub while waiting for our car to have some work done in the local garage. 1st impressions was good, the staff was all lovely and very helpful a nice bunch of people to be around. The food was amazing all cooked fresh and the carvery was one of the best I have had in a long time and to be honest the food was very well priced not over priced. This is definitely our new go to place next time our car is back in the garage... I highly recommend... Thankyou for a lovely experience

I phoned ahead first to check on table availability and I was told to just arrive but on busier days it is best to book, very helpful and friendly on the phone.
Nice greeting on arrival. Simple process to order and pay.
The food was good and incredible value.
This place had a lovely atmosphere and this was fostered by the extremely attentive, happy staff.
Major bonus .... they had EV charging stations, brilliant.

We walked in and there was a queue at the bar. Only one person behind the bar at this point. But they made sure they gave their customer their undivided attention! Not many say this but it made queueing seem easier! They took my drinks order and explained the order process. The person who took my order (think he was a manager) was kind and courteous and took my order with a smile and some helpful tips about what I was ordering. The servers were polite and ensured the warmer plates were kept from my kids reach. Another server saw my daughter struggling with a fork and brought over a spoon. The food was well cooked and served quickly despite the place being busy!
Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about our meal and the place as a whole. Please thank your staff at Blaina Wharf Newport for giving us a 5 star experience without breaking a sweat! Amazing! Will be back soon!!

Got served relatively quickly at the bar. There was a lovely woman working there, not sure of her name as no name badge but her hair was shaved on the sides and in a pony tail. Her customer service was excellent. We enjoyed a drink outside and then some food inside, which was served quickly and was very tasty. Would definitely visit again.

Booked for a table of 8, had a really enjoyable time in a family friendly atmosphere which my 1 year old embraced toddling about especially the play area. The food was good and didn't have to wait long. The staff member Zoe behind the bar was amazing and polite even when another customers child was rude demanding crayons. She handled it very professionally. A credit to the company. They met all my family's needs as you can imagine with 8 of us was difficult and was even patient whilst we sorted splitting the bill. Nice place will eat there again. Especially go back for the cakes they were best.

Just want to say a huge thank you to Tom once again for putting on a great show for the kids. Never ceases to amaze me that this Pub thinks of the children whereas most are after drink sales to adults. Came Friday and today and both days were fantastic. Great service from the guys as always. Can’t recommend this place enough for any occasion. Keep up the good work Tom and Team

We came for Paw patrol breakfast and our children had the best time. At first my 2 year old was a bit weary but then soon warmed to the friendly fun characters. The staff were also super efficient and helpful. The food was fresh and hot. The server did a great job. Also bar staff were quick and friendly. Thank you Blaina Wharf.
C. B.
Love Blaina Wharf, the team are so warm and friendly. Nikki in particular always goes above and beyond to ensure me and my family feel welcome and valued. The food was wonderful and despite the restaurant being incredibly busy, the food and drinks did not disappoint and neither did the service. The bar area was clean and empty plates were not left on the tables too long. Will be going again very soon!

Myself and my friend cane to the FRIENDS quiz this evening and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The pub was very clean, the staff was amazing all friendly and very welcoming. We booked online and was seated straight away.
The quiz was such a good laugh! As a Mum who doesn't get out much this was the perfect way to let my hair down, can't wait for the next one!
We also treated ourselves to a delicious lemon cheesecake to take home!
Thank you for a great quiz 😊

Had a large carvery, chef rushed out of the kitchen, gave the single choice of meat, which to be fair wasn't much for a large in my opinion, three thinly half sized slices, gave me two Yorkshire puddings, then almost ran back the kitchen. After watching the other chef, he just wonders out, talks to the customer, asked how their day was and what they got planned, offered all meats and look to be very good sized portions for a standard size. So my personal experience wasn't very good, to top it off the puds were chewy. Wife didn't really like her food as she had chosen a steak dish, which was very fatty and chewy. Having said that, kids enjoyed their food and the bar dtaff were nice and friendly..

Absolutely amazing carvery! Very shocked and extremely pleased with the food here.. If you like Toby carvery you'll LOVE this place it's way better! Give it a try especially if you have never been before, huge range of soft drinks and beverages
L. V.
Very good for the pub quiz. Good customer service and lovely carvery. Not many staff on the bar though causing big queues but understandable due to jubilee celebrations. Lovely food and great experience at the quiz hosted by
K. J.
Lovely carvery. Quiet on our visit which was a Tuesday lunchtime. Much more enjoyable than when it's rammed in there. Good menu choice too if your not fancying a carvery.

Came in this morning (24/9/22) for breakfast with LOL dolls, speed of service was amazing, especially considering how busy they were. Food was all correct and hot, service staff were helpful, Erin ensured we were happy and satisfied throughout our visit, and nothing was too much to ask of her. Will be attending more of these breakfast visit, both adults and children were impressed.
S. S.
The venue was very quiet on my visit and although I could see several members of staff when I entered it took a while for me to get served at the bar. However, once I was served the staff were friendly and efficient. The beer was served in the appropriate glass, correctly and was good.
R. M.
We had a lovely meal here tonight. I had the ultimate chicken burger and my god I was very surprised with how bit it was when it arrived. The cavery was amazing everything cooked beautifully. From the bar staff to the waiter the service was impeccable, nothing was to much to ask for. Very giid evening. Will be back very very soon.

Tonight I had to change my booking and couldn't have had such a lovely, polite man on the phone. Customer service was excellent from a guy called Logan and would like to thank him for all he did for me. Management, give him a raise.
J. S.
So we travelled from Southampton to Newport to collect a passport. We needed food and because our stupid Mercedes satnav didn't know the way to Burger King, we found this place ourselves. The staff are so polite and friendly. Maybe it is a Welsh thing and in England, round our way, at least, everyone is miserable! We found great food and a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. Top marks for this venue and top marks for Wales. Thank you x
V. P.
Brilliant Local Place... Great Staff, Very Nice and Polite... My Last experience here was not so good... Gave it another go and this time around, they were excellent... The Food was Amazing.. Lovely dessert for the Kids too, The Atmosphere is just Calm...Lovely Place... Goin Back Again in the week... My Kids Love the Out Door Seating area, it has a little play area 😄... I do recommend this place. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
R. F.
Great food. Fantastic staff. Great kids play area
J. T.
Good food, didn't see any food left on plates which is always a good sign.
Family friendly with a great beach view.
Would happily go again.
A. J.
Eat here a lot. Usually ok. This time though not so good. Mine came without onion rings. Carvery had no green veg so hubby only had potatoes & carrots. Not good value. No cheesecake, no apple crumble, had apple pie with custard on a silly little pot that was too hot to pick up. 🙄

Firstly A Pleasant young lady found us a table for 4 very quickly without any fuss, when going to order another equally pleasant lady served us some drinks with excellent recommendation of a certain gin …once seated we proceeded to get our roast the area was spotless and very well stocked and we were served very quickly and efficiently and it all tasted delicious .. our empty plates were collected very efficiently by another young lady ..all the staff were very polite and well dressed throughout our time there and one also reassured us there was no need for us to rush our drinks we weren’t in the way ..excellent service !!
L. D.
called in after morning shopping, decided on a carvery as it looked amazing, 3 meat choices and full veg selection, young lady called Stevie served us, laid our table and checked frequently that we were happy, Cez served us on the carvery, she was happy to explain all the choices and was very good at her job, quick, efficient and knowledgeable . first class service all round, will be returning in the future
h. n.
Had a lovely experience at this pub today. Mazz behind the bar was very kind and informative regarding vegan options. Will definitely be back!
k. h.
Food and drinks great got there early lunch before venue filled up. Staff friendly even booked the best Value taxi service for us.
C. &. L. B.
Lovely spacious venue, great food selection, nice staff, love the fact you have a large outdoor beer garden with play area, lush carvery, kids play area and things for the kids to do, outside is dog friendly. Nothing bad to say about this place
I. B.
It is an ideal place to go for lunch or dinner with children, since they have a park in the writer for them to play and there is a wide variety of food. The only thing I miss for the great place that it is, would be that there was a greater variety of draft beers.
S. C.
Staff are very accomodating and friendly. If there is an issue, they are good to fix it and caring when things are going sour. Food is amazing, and atmosphere is nice.
G. T.
Was looking for a safe place to wait for my boyfriend to pick me up, and the lady behind the bar was really lovely and said I was more than welcome to wait as long as needed. Thank you for providing a safe space 😊
j. d.
The food was great as usual. The staff are brilliant too. Always a pleasure to visit.
P. W.
The food was nice and staff were friendly.
I marked it down to the dirt and fluff hanging down from the lights over the carvery and flapping in the breeze from the open doors. And quite a few flies flying about, could not see any visible pest control for this. At the carvery, it was unattended when I got there with flies near food and plates, and while eating there were quite a few flies and mosquitoes etc landing on plates and sides and f drink glasses.
Apart from this the place felt and looked clean, it was not too busy with plenty of available seats. There was background music playing quietly, (possibly a little too quiet as it was just noise as you could hear something but could not decipher what was playing)
Access for disabled looks good and plenty of parking outside.
S.
Food is decent, prices are average for this type.of establishment, would give a 5 star but everytime i go there the glasses never seem to be that clean
C. T.
We arrived early, without a booking and was seated and served quickly. Staff and food were lovely.
M. F.
The burger was awesome. The chicken masala looks good and taste awesome. The portion generous.
v. “. x.
The food was boiling warm, was greeted with a smile and welcome. Food isn’t too expensive and neither are the drinks, I had the curry which was so filling and had a lovely spice to it. We also liked how the sauces, salts and peppers etc was all on the table ready, as most places your walking around looking for salt or ketchup which me and my partner both said was nice having it all on our table for once. Overall, lovely experience, beautiful food, great customer service and clean fast working environment
F. M.
We eat here nearly every Sunday, the staff are so accommodating and work really hard. The Sunday lunch is the best! It's always fresh and tates home cooked, with value for money. The menu food is always good quality too.
L. E.
Exellent experience as always. Booked table in advance and no waiting to be seated. Staff as friendly and attentive as always. Carvery delicious. All vegetables, meats etc cooked to perfection.
Only downside is the gravy was extremely thin, so you lose the flavour. Wouls have liked it to be slightly thicker.
N. F.
Staff very very friendly and helpful. Nikki was very kind and quick on the serving point, and Stevie was very friendly and prompt with service. She even provided a food and water bowl for our dog, which was allowed inside (very happy!).
P. G.
Very good food and a very attentive waitress mandy I think her name was nothing was to much trouble for her
K. L.
Had booked on website a few hours before visit.Turned up and told by manager even thoe we had booked they don't get time to look at the online bookings so there isn't going to be room for us. Explain that we had travelled for the booking and mett friends who live far away. Manager said he will see what's available. After searched the pub he found us 2 tables we pushed together.
Service very slow waited over a hour before we had any food arrive at our table and we had 4 children with us so this was quite frustrating.
Food when it arrived was tasty.
R. S.
They do a great carvery and the staff are really helpful i just like going there
M. G.
Lovely carvery
I'd never really been a fan of carvery. Love home cooked roast dinners though.
However this one was very good, food was hot and cooked very well.
Lots of choice
One of the best bits was the parsnips very often when you eat parsnips out they never cut "the wood" out like we do at home and you get the hard bit in the middle but here they were very nice.
Staff were helpful and friendly too.
Me and my friend shared a desert of carrot cake which again was very good.
v. g.
The food was great for me and my daughter but my mums desert apple crumble was a bit under cooked but you gave us a refund with no hassle at all great friendly atmosphere lovely staff who were helpful nice play area for children will definitely come again 😀
T. G.
Food was amazing, staff went the extra mile. It was a hectic Mother's Day so waits were expected but overall experience was lovely. Can't wait to return.
J. C.

d. C.

F. R.
We had a good time, food was tasty and good value for money. Very nice burger. Alcohol slightly overpriced but overall good time.
K. W.
Experience was brilliant, staff were really friendly. Only complaint is i feel theres not much choice of different foods on the menu, bring back some more pub type food
C. T.
Very nice pub, relaxed atmosphere and some staff are approachable. However, the current price increases make it more undesirable when the same beers are cheaper by 60p a pint close by!
m. h.
Sataurday we had a birthday meal at the blaina wharf the cowboy burger had a burger 1 slice of tomatoe 1 piece of bacon no salad and no chips and the veggie burger was cauliflower cheese shoved in a bun with no salad pale and dry chips. The older lady looked very busy and the younger staff wasen't sure what to do.
V. M.
Had a lovely meal with my husband, granddaughter and her friend. Our food was lovely and the waitress who served us was so nice
M. W.
Great Sunday roast, the staff were all friendly and the food came quickly even though they were very busy
D. D.
I enjoyed my pint and the waitresses Mazz was really nice and welcoming
A. A.
Wonderful choice of menu. I am a vegetarian and usually we are limited for choice, but at your bistro the choice is excellent. It is an excellent bar with staff that are very helpful. Both starters and deserts also have a variety of dishes that will suit all tastes. I noticed that entertainment is also on offer on several evenings a week. You can also order takeaways which is a great way to take lovely cakes etc. home. I cannot praise the Blaenau Wharf enough.
K. E.
stunning cavery and i have high standards!!!!!
K. E.
Table pre booked and ready for our arrival. Quick friendly service at the bar and waitresses. Carvery was outstanding. Always loved this place since it opened and will continue to visit. Also provides blue light card discount. Which is always heart warming
E. C.
Have been a few times and their food and drinks are always good and fresh.
I did go one and they over cooked my steak but the staff were lively and replaced this with a smile on their face.
I would recommend going here 🙂
R. F.
Lovely food, polite friendly staff
N. B.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

We had the carvery and it was really lovely. Staff are lovely and helpful...Great glass of Guiness !!!
C. H.
A great family friendly pub. Large car park with plenty of space so no hassle when you get there. Very reasonably priced food with a good selection on the menu. Plenty of seating inside so not hard to find a table. Children's play area inside as well as various games and vending machines for them.
Service is very good. The staff are helpful and polite and food arrives very quickly.
Definitely recommend visiting here and will certainly come back myself.
L. S.
Welcoming staff, fantastic food! Will definitely be back!
E. S.
One of the best carvery/roast dinner I've had out in a long time. The selection of vegetables and meats was fantastic and so tasty. The chef was super friendly and accommodating. Thank you

Popular pub and carvery not far from the city centre. Well prepared and speedy service at the carvery. I appreciated the friendly service from the attentive and friendly staff.
E. W.
The food was lovely and reasonably priced. Soft drinks seemed a little expensive. I would visit again
K. W.
Carvery was excellent, staff were friendly, very busy and could have done with more than 2 staff behind the bar.
M. D.
I was completely overwhelmed by the service and food at this pub. My husband and I decided to go here for Sunday Lunch, not realising the Newport Marathon had just finished and several hundred other people had the same idea!!!! Well the staff were fantastic, totally unphased and worked together like a well oiled machine. We could see all the tables were already occupied, and people were waiting for tables to become vacant. The Greeter was calm and poised, welcoming us with a cheery smile and making us aware that a table for 2 would be approx 15 min wait. He handed us a pager like device and took us through the procedure. Right on time, our little box buzzed and we were assigned table no.38. I nudged my way through the throng of people, which was growing by the minute, to the bar. Again, a cheery smile greeted me. I ordered 2 carveries and 2 drinks. I was served swiftly and efficiently. On taking the drinks to our table, I was concerned about leaving them unattended, due to the sheer volume of people in the pub. I shouldn't have been concerned. Yet another lovely lady, who was clearing and resetting tables as they became vacant, informed me she would watch the drinks for me. We joined the queue for the Carvery, which was over 30 deep. The queue went down quickly, which was a testament to the carvery counter staff. When it was our turn, yet another lovely young man greeted us, as if we were his first customers of the day, even though you could clearly see he'd already served a substantial amount of people around us, by the look of the black trays. The counter was clean, the food was fresh and plentiful, and between us we had the pork, beef and turkey, all of which were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I sat for a moment to let my food go down a little and it was at this point that I was truly amazed at how each member of this team was working intricately with their colleagues to ensure all customers had a positive experience, were engaged with swiftly, seated as quickly as possible, the bar staff took the meal and drinks orders, the waiting staff laid tables and moved plates, almost pre-empting "the next move in a chess game", liaising with the greeter at regular intervals. And the kitchen/food counter staff obviously worked superbly to ensure we all received the meals we wanted. What a true example of what Team Work can achieve. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to all.

Great parking, not bad food, beef was a bit tough and the roasties were undercooked but the veg was nice but barely warm. Would have liked some green veg available.
R. P.
Had a lovely meal there!
Staff outstanding!!!!
Good food for a good price!
D. 6.
Carvery is very nice. Well priced. Drinks however are expensive. EV chargers in car park.
E. P.
Staff all very polite especially Mandy and Tom, Mandy was lovely and so welcoming. Food was perfect
P. J.
Popped in for a meal while in Newport to waste an hour while waiting for someone. The pub was clean and complying with Covid regulations that were in place at the time. Staff were welcoming. We opted for the carvery. Good value for money the stuffing wasn't to my taste but everything else was tasty.
T. H.
Terri was a great help with everything we needed
D. S.
Food very good and a good selection of well kept ales
A. W.
We had a great visit....we are a complicated party of three...one vegan, one lactose intolerant and one coeliac. We had carvery and our server made sure exactly what we could all have.....if she wasn't sure she went to the kitchen and asked. This was brilliant as most places give you a book and you have to work things out yourself. We weren't made to feel as if we were a nuisance and nothing was too much trouble. Well done Blaina.... already booked for next Sunday .
D. C.
Food was lovely staff was great and my daughter loved it in the park
B. C.
The staff are polite and helpful especially Kat so chatty and smiley nothing was to much trouble. Prices are very reasonable and we had the best carvery ever I'd defo recommend and we will be back :)
M. J.
Nice food and good beer. Friendly staff. Worth a visit
K. T.
Its a decent carvery pub, good ales on tap, friendly welcoming staff member! Bit of a delay when it came to ordering stuff but hey ho, its one of those things! Chef nice and friendly! Clean toilets and public areas!! 8 out of 10!! Keep it up!!
K. C. (.
Drink prices are on the higher side for a family pub restaurant but a nice atmosphere and geat beer garden!
M. H.
Very goof family meal tonight.
Excellent food, excellent service.
EV charging is the icing on the cake 😀
I. F.
Poor service when we arrived. There was no one greeting at the door, so we had to queue at the bar for 15 minutes when we arrived to ask to be seated, despite the fact we pre-booked. The staff were rushed off their feet and they were clearly understaffed for a full pub.
Food was then a bit of a wait around 40 mins, but we were told this when ordering. May have just caught them on a bad day when staff called in sick, but they desperately needed more staff.
I think I'm being generous with 3 stars, but to be fair the food was fine when it came, standard pub grub but that's what we expected.
Sort out your front of house staff (i.e hire some) to greet people who've pre-booked and the experience wouldn't have been so bad.
B. D.
Defo recommend, we didn't eat, but the carvery looked lush 😋
N. D.
Food was OK, service was very good. Nice gardens
A. R.
Lovely ambiance, lovely meal with very attentive customer service. Delicious!
D. M.
We had a lovely carvery. We enjoyed the atmosphere until a family came in and the children just ran about screeminng. We couldn't even hear each other as they were screaming so loud. I think a a member of the staff should have stopped it. We will definitely go again
H. G.
I attended the Roblox breakfast with my two daughters on the 26th March and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The breakfast was very tasty too.
J. P.
Greeted warmly at the door and shown to a table with good distance from other patrons.
Ordered easily from the app at the table.
Drinks and food arrived swiftly and food was excellent. Great service and value. Highly recommended.
C. F.
Big improvement since the new management have taken over. Nice place for Sunday lunch and they have a tasty roast dinner wrap which I’d recommend.
d. j.
Me and the family really enjoyed our visit today to have a meal out. The staff is really friendly. Survive with a smile is what we like to see. Definitely be back again,
P. J.
Staff were lovely and the carvery was even better. Couldn't fault anything. Reasonably priced aswell ! Will be returning for sure!

A. G.

B. R.
Was great for having lunch while passing through Newport. Worth noting that there are electric car chargers.
K. H.
Staff were friendly quick helpful with the children patient also. Table was cleaned at each course and food was quick hot and delicious
K. J.
I have been here several times to charge my car, but have never been in before. I only had a coffee but my experience was lovely, even with the covid restrictions in place. The staff talked me through scanning the track and trace code to placing my order. Absolutely amazing service, thank you for easing my anxiety about going to a pub for a quiet coffee.
A. M.
Fabulous Carvery and great value.
Good atmosphere to watch the rugby.
A. H.
My husband and I booked this venue for our 58th wedding anniversary and very pleased with the service we received from Maria who served us. The steak meal we had was excellent.
S. G.
The service was very good and the food was cooked perfectly to as we requested. The staff were very polite and happy to help with any requirements or requests, overall a very enjoyable evening.
A. L.
This was my first visit to this pub. It is a nice clean pub, big and cosy. Unfortunately I arrived just before they were due to close at 22.00. The Manager was very accommodating and allowed us to have a drink while he was preparing to close. I will return on another day but much earliet
T. M. B.
The carvery is huge. Not my favourite carvery but would come back.
M. P.
Dan was an amazing server and a very funny guy, and his team worked together brilliantly and efficiently. Very impressed and enjoyed my birthday a tonne thanks to them
J. M.
Food was reasonable in price and quality, service they simply need more staff . Can't fault the staff just not enough for how busy it was on a Sunday.
K. R.
Really enjoyed my first visit here, the staff were lovely and the food was nice. If I'm being picky I'd say the roast potatoes wasn't very flavorful but the skin on potatoes were delicious. We had 3 carverys and a child's meal and let me say the price was really good, another downside is there wasn't any coke (full fat) on tap, but other wise it was an amazing visit definitely a strong 8/10
M. c.
Food was nice and staff were friendly
d. L.
Lovely food but the bingo was annoying and too loud ! We went out for mothers day and ended up leaving after food as it was too loud to chat
A. H.
Booked a table for 7.15..arrived and very disappointed to find quite a long queue outside..apparently overbooked ..didnt help it was the tail end of storm Francis so very windy and imminent threat of rain...!!
That said we managed to dodge the rain and was sat at a table by 7.45 ..from the not so good start I fully expected the quality of food to be compromised and staff stressed out but quite the opposite!! All staff were smiley and very helpful..food was absolutely lovely, hot and plentiful ..well impressed !!
Would of give 4.5 (but app wouldnt let me ) and the half point off only because of the queuing..certainly not the service or food.
A.
Food was amazing, friendly staff.
L. B.
The food was brilliant the staff especially Amy was absolutely fantastic really made us feel at home
A. J.
Nice pub, could do with some repairs to the benches outside.
G. M.
Had to wait a while, But the food was lovely and worth it
J. S.
Food was nice it's a shame they can't do the refillable drinks no more and they are very limited to what food you can order but overall it was good x update the food isn't limited no more which is good
L.
We went on a Thursday night it wasn't too busy the staff are friendly and we had a great carvery meal
F. C. S. W.
A pleasant venue, with friendly staff.
Excellent prices and meal deals.
The only criticism pertains to attention to detail and quantity. The medium carvery should provide more meat for the price.
When ordering a medium steak I recieved a steak that was well done, and French mustard was not available. Regardless of the above I would recommend this establishment.
D. P.
Cracking place with friendly staff and terrific food. 2 meals for 11 quid is great. The carvery is fantastic and always nice and fresh. Great little play area for the kids as well. Lovely stuff. (And yes I know I overdo it with the carvery but what can I say)
D. R.
We're not regulars but we've been a fair few times.
Today was okay. Not great.
A boisterous atmosphere... I would prefer calm and sedate on a Sunday.
No potato other than roast. Leeks needed longer cooking so they weren't squeaky. Peas had a little too much bite for my preference.
Staff friendly if a little thin on the ground.
Not awful but I've enjoyed other visits more.
M. B.
The staff where very helpful , food came out timely and was very nice.
N. H.
Myself, my mother in law and my daughter went see Father Christmas, his reindeer and we also had food here today but I am slightly disappointed with the fact that Father Christmas didn't take my daughter to his grotto for pictures when I paid for that experience. My daughter would of loved that me included as it adds to the Christmas magic and the pictures we took would of looked much nicer too than the ones taken by the fire exit doors 😏☹. I also thought that my daughter may of received a better gift than a hot chocolate kit and reindeer magic sprinkles, a toy or a chocolate selection box would of been more appropriate especially for a child. I know that she had a free meal included but I feel it isn't the usual meeting Father Christmas experience so yes I am slightly disappointed.
S. B.
Excellent food and customer service .will definitely be returning to blaina wharf
S. C.
Confusion using app. Not made aware had to respond to email to confirm order so 20 mins passed when we queried it. Ordered direct and food was delicious.
M. T.
Visited the pub for an early afternoon meal. Although quite busy, the service for very friendly and efficient.
We took advantage of the 2 for £11 main course offer and it was lovely. The pub has an offer for every day of the week and all advertising was well displayed.
The garden area has a nice view of the transporter bridge.
When we visit again, I will have a Carvery as it looked and smelt delicious.
J. S.
The carvery was very tasty, plenty to choose from. The man serving on the carvery section was very polite, friendly and quite humourous. All the bar staff were really nice, efficient and attentive. Restaurant is a basic, family pub style atmosphere and clean & tidy. The children enjoyed the indoor and outdoor play areas. Will recommend and visit again. Probably gets very busy at peak times but we visited at 2.30pm so a little quieter then, so no long queues.
J. J.
Had a lovely meal tonight. Atmosphere was lovely, food was excellent and the staff were amazing! Would definitely recommend!
C. O.
Lovely food. I had the carvery and my two friends had fish and chips. Neither of us were disappointed and the service was excellent
A. H.
The carvery I had was stunning. The beef was tender, the vegetables were beautiful.
s. S.
It's a nice place for a meal and a drink good vibe
J. G.
Had a very good meal will be back
G. C.
Good food,good service.
D. P.
Perfect for an anytime meal and Ideal for a Wednesday roast
J. D.
Stunning carvery, lovely atmosphere, nice spacious pub.
A. M.
Food was much better than expected, chef serving was friendly. And prices are reasonable
G. B.
Food and service very good. Place for families.
K. B.
Very good. Food was freshly prepared. Enjoyed our meal.
T. H.
Very accommodating, food was lovely, just if ordering the bbq chicken burger, order extra as its a very small portion
M. K.
Great food ! Definitely recommend!!
E. G.
Quality seems to depend on the time and the day. Obviously when it’s busier, quality will be up. I went here on a Saturday at 6pm and the food quality was poor. Everything tasted heavily unseasoned, the catering-style cakes has finger marks in them (in the display counter), the staff weren’t polite at all, and they were playing children music in the background. I don’t understand how the quality can change so drastically. The only good part about my trip here was the gammon and turkey, which were both cooked to perfection.
T. H.
A very warm welcome. Great service and friendly staff.
Nice kids play area.
Good fair priced food.
C. M.
One of my favourite places! It is always busy on a Sunday but it is worth it!
J. V.
Great outside seating area! Very nice outdoor play area for kids too. Food was ok , I don't recommend chicken dish but carvery was good. Place needs cleaning a lot! Hight chairs were nasty! I would never use it for my child and I think it's never been cleaned. Menu's needs cleaning too, very sticky. Very friendly staff, and good meals deals.
S. W.
I wouldn't put it as top of my list as the waiting time for the meal was longer than expected even though it wasn't busy at the time.
I found the quality of the food to be average as it tasted like it was bought in rather than freshly made.
However I was happy to see that it was clean and tidy and the staff cleared and cleaned the tables promptly when people left.
V. W.
Great meal, really hot. Plenty of space for wheelchair user's. The staff are very friendly, and helpfull. But for me they loose the fifth star, as I needed help to get my chair from the car park to the door, as the path leading to the door is graded upwards and couldn't get my manual chair up myself. Would of been better to enter the alternative entrance, but no path from the car park.
S. P.
Very polite, food was fantastic and didn't have to wait long for food after ordering
I. M.
Visited yesterday with my partner the carvery is very good we both had a small carvery with Beef and Turkey which was very tasty and there is always a good range of vegetables I love the red cabbage it was delicious. Very good value. We had diet coke/Pepsi as we were driving but they have a good range of Beers and wines. Recommended look forward to my next visit.
M. R.
Only carvery available on this visit but great food and kid friendly. Along with ev rapid charger available.
J. B.
The food was quite nice, but not much meat compared to The Toby carvery. We had booked a table, and had it waiting for us. Although there was no one to meet and greet. And we had to go looking for staff. We then had to queue at the bar, with loads of people, who were not in any order and was rather chaotic. I would prefer to pay after the meal, as is customary in other places and I found it off putting.
S. F.
Plenty of room, great for kids and food was good
W. H.
This is the first time I have been to this place for lunch and i loved it great food had the carvery delicious and the restaurant was a really nice place to eat will be going again
H. J.
3 of us popped in for a bit of lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Large menu which caters for all in my opinion. I opted for carvery, hubby for gammon and daughter for scampi. Excellent choice of 3 meats & ample veg choice for carvery. Really enjoyed all meals but too full for dessert and bit pushed for time. Very clean and bright inside and cosy n warm too. Plenty of car park space but wasnt overly busy there. Good choice for lunch and will be returning.
S. S.
Rough and ready, tried to be COVID safe but failed. If you want a large carvery, its the place for you. Service was poor, but food was cheap.
O. W.
Been visiting this pub with the family for a few years now and we've always be met by very friendly staff.
The carvery is popular, understandably as it's decent quality for the price. I'd recommend the carvery or the mixed grill as they are the most consistent. Other items have been a bit hit & miss.
Pretty good kids area indoors & a climbing frame outside for when it's not raining.
Have been on very busy Sundays with a group of six or more expecting to have wait for ages to get seated but this hasn't been the case, never had to wait too long. There's sometimes a wait at the bar when ordering but the staff seem on top of it and the friendly atmosphere means you tend to get served in turn.
R. R.
Great beer garden with a park for kids, food isn't inexpensive and neither are drinks.
Was the whole evening good value for money?
Possibly but with a group of adults and kids soft drinks soon add up.
The carvery is very good but the rest of the menu is a bit hit and miss, clearly mass produced micro meals in smaller than average portions.
9At these prices food should be better but 5 srars for the carvery!
L. G.
Food is always excellent been twice in the last week and the staff are so friendly even though they are under pressure being short staffed. Would highly recommend.
I. B.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and one of the best roast dinners you can have, just like your Mother used to make. Who doesn't like the old meat and veg with lashings of gravy? They do do other food as well, not that I've tried any.
R. P.
Well arranged nice meal but a little mean with the meat portions , staff pleasant and helpful .will visit again .
J. W.
The place was full and yet the staff still managed an excellent table service. Well done
K. F.
Booked a table for 6 in advance. When arrived was told they wasn't sure if they had a table for us unless we wanted to sit outside. They managed to find a table after a little fuss although inside was rather hot. Food and drink was lovely as normal and staff were friendly.
S. P.
We go every Thursday night for the quiz and have an amazing carvery, which I think is the best in Newport. Staff are friendly and helpful. Carl and Martin are wonderful and I recently had my birthday party and they decorated the tables and gave us great service as always. Just had a Halloween disco which was fabulous and the kids had face painting. We booked a family meal for the New Year celebration party and looking forward to that. Great menu and choice and lots of parking.Would highly recommend.😆👍
B. j.
Nice quiet pub in a great location on the A48.
Wide choice on the menu and quick service.
Food was tasty and at £30 for two mains, a starter and two drinks, I think pretty reasonably priced.
The fish and chips came in a chunky batter meaning there want quite as much fish as you may have wanted however it was fresh and tasty.
The burger with sweet potato fries was also very tasty and the fries perfect. Came with a kale slaw which was equally delicious.
Would recommend and was on my way home from work.
A. L.
Our boys wanted us to go here for a Sunday lunch. As a result we experienced it at its busiest which meant a fair old wait at the bar before a table came free. After that it's basically like a Toby carvery or any of the other options. Good roasts in decent portions . Basic fair but fairly priced
J. W.
Excellent quality food and excellent quality service.
t. l.
The carvery wasn't very nice but the meals of the menu was lovely only 1 person serving so the queue to order food and drinks was terrible
S.
Lovely pub for food or just a drink. Great selection of food on their menu along with a carvery. Lovely staff that are always helpful and welcoming, great to sit in the beer garden whilst the weather's nice. Thursday's are a bit busier as they have a pub quiz but still not overly busy. Always have a good experience and look forward to going back.
A. B.
The food was very sympathetically cooked. ..nothing burnt ir underdone.
But the very thin cuts, by the chef of meat .....really. Good food, miserly proportions.
I do not have a large appetite but expect value for money.
Staff were stretched, a busy place, but very courteous. Lively pleasant atmosphere.
D. B.
Standard Marston pub, had a carvery with didn't look particularly amazing but people seemed to be enjoying it. Service is friendly enough, beer garden is spacious but the octagonal tables should get replaced with the standard bench tables. Prices are reasonable as well.
C. M.
Don't order the children's menu. It comes out in reverse order...dessert then mains then starters (with parts missing) so when you come back around to receiving your dessert at the second asking it has simply been reheated amd is rock solid. The carvery has lovely meat and veg and a good selection. Pleasant and helpful staff however.
S. G.
Lovely carvery, just like always if you go while busy you get a great dish!
J. D.
Really nice food, good dessert. Modern building clean and tidy. Now has electric charging point.
Lots of parking but can get busy on times.
Been here several time and carvary is very good. Usually 3 meats for selection, With lots of veg to choose from. Fantastic gravy with a verity of sauses to accommodate with your dinner. If there is room for desserts 🍰 there is a fantastic choice . Service is pretty quick, but you do have to que to get carvary and at times can be a little long. But worth the wait..
A. M.
Lovely place to eat! Staff are friendly and welcoming! Covid safe! It was busy but we were still looked after!
C. C.
Very tiny meat portions served at the carvery. The beef & turkey are flavourless. The childs meal to feed upto a 12 year old is so small, it would just about feed a three year old with a good appetite! The bar service is very slow to order food or drinks. (Appreciate it's the Xmas season obviously busy with parties).
S. P.
Friendly staff, Kat was very helpful and cheerful. Gorgeous food.
D. N.
Lovely staff great food
M. S.
Great place, great staff, great food but please don't serve my brother in law Donovan Collier alcoholic drinks as he drinks to much!!!
G. B.
Food is lovely. Very busy place which is expected with the service and food quality. My Yorkshire pudding was as hard as a building block but queue too long to take back.
S. T.
Visit the Blaina Wharf every 4-8 weeks on the Thursday for quiz night. Staff are always lovely and if there is a mistake or issue are always very quick to rectify it. The grills and burgers and carvery are their best dishes in my opinion, and the puddings are decent. Reasonable sized portions, not too much and feel pleasantly full. The gammons off the 2 for £10 is incredible value for money, extremely tasty. We keep going back so must be doing something right!
L. T.
Very busy on Sunday and we had to wait for a table for 5 people
Trying to book ahead not possible as it's walk ins only
A. P.
Good friendly service, really tasty Carvery at good prices, really happy thanks
L. V.
Carvery was good would go again
s. p.
Ambience/atmosphere, great. Staff great. Carvery great. Peroni, great.
Tea very weak, coffee, warm. Fish, batter on outside cooked , inside uncooked and wet. Dont think fish was cooked , wet and slimy in places. Chips nice and hot. Mushy peas lovely.
First time visit. Pity about the beverages and uncooked fish.
Will I visit again . Unlikely.
Steve
P. P.
Okay fast food place that seemed fairly popular. We had a corner table that was restricting up against a wall and window.
Parking
J. S.
Friendly staff lovely food clean and always a pleasure fairly priced
A. R.
Cracking food well cooked and well presented with a good te of staff.
N. B.
Lovely quick service and friendly sta
B. J.
Food was great. But..... Understaffed. Made a cockup with our birthday party booking and put our decs on a table then let someone else sit there. Nightmare..but sorted. They need a separate refillable drinks pumps to the bar. Staff were trying to be helpful but the manager was making the situation worse with some stupid comments.
S. D.
Staff always very friendly and welcoming. Food excellent can't fault a thing
D. M.
From the starters to the finishers.
Food was really nice.
I had fish and chips, wow, lovely.
And the price compare to London, fantastic.
3 of us had 3 courses and £35.
I'm moving to whales 😉.
C. R.
Staff were great, working hard and very attentive. Food was hot, tasty and well presented. Great afternoon!
C. B.
Carvery good but server threw his toys out of the cot when asked to have meat off fresh joint rather than dried up left over from previous joint. Threw hands in the air and left us all standing a gasp. If he didn't resign he should be sacked. Understand that understaffed but do not excuse the appalling customer service. The lady that replaced him done so efficiently and professionally. Lost star for this alone.
M. P.
Great service and great food
L. M.
Had a carvery small plate ,which was enough quantity wise for a lady, child or small appetite person. Meat beautifully cooked and good choice of Turkey, gammon, pork and beef. Vegetables though we're disappointingly cooked, which is a shame as again good selection of roast and boiled potatoes ,cauliflower cheese, carrots ,peas,French beans and red cabbage. Personal choice but I don't like hard cauli. Roast potatoes were a little too burnt too. Gravy delicious though!
g. P.
Reasonably priced, good choice, always busy
J. B. (. B.
Lovely food and friendly staff. Can be very busy during certain times, so make sure you leave yourself enough time! Not enough options on the menu if you don't like a Sunday roast, but as that's one of my favourite meals, this is no deterrent for me! Great jungle gym outside and children's area inside. Very reasonable prices and I like the fact that you pay for your meals at the bar so no waiting for service from the waiting staff. My grandfather recommends the Red Velvet Cheesecake. He refuses to have anything else since he discovered it!
J. S.
Lovely pub, meal was absolutely lovely found the price a bit on the steep side just over £50 for 3 meals and 3 drinks
A. G.
Fantastic food for the price you pay, staff is friendly and supportive, the size of the food is good and unlimited refills on Pepsi, the pudding you can get is massive. This is now going to be my little local spot to pop to for a quick pub lunch.
E. B.
We went on Sunday for the carvery and i was sorely disappointed The Blaina Wharf decor is great very comfortable and welcoming. The bar had a great selection and it positively cruel to put the desserts display to tempt whilst waiting it takes a lot of willpower to resist. Onto the food it is a pile of swill and please believe me i am being generous being a foodie. Ice Cold Yorkshire pudding and barely tasteful green beans and carrots that have had all taste steamed out. The mashed potatoes had the resemblance of filler that is in the last stages of going off and the stuffing or resemblance of was a mouthful of stuffing tasting water. The turkey was bland and the gammon was just salt and seasoning. The gravy was a bog standard beef gravy and totally inappropriate for white meat and poultry. Yet doing a roaring trade go figure......
L. F.
Fresh home cooked veg and proper gravy. Can't beat a Sunday roast in the week.
s. p.
Very nice saff good food and value for money
M. G.
Lovely Pub. Good priece and great variety of food including an area with Carvery where you can serve yourself with plenty of stuffing. Really great. Clear space with plenty of windows and external area, been a really nice place to go in the summer. All facilities cleaned and service impeccable.
j. j.
Maria was very friendly and helped us order our food. She was professional and polite. The food was good and the overall feel is great. Give Maria a raise!!
S. B.
The gravy is terrible and the cauliflower cheese is awful no flavour and very watery . Everything else was ok..kids meals are deep fried which left they're waffles soaked with oil. The kids area is good.
k. p.
Mmmmm... really lovely looking place, but the food was not the best. I have the steak which was really nice, however my partner had the salmon, with roasted potatoes ect. The salmon was over cooked and the potatoes were very hard, with a little bit of brown on them. But they tasted like raw potatoes.. we was not asked if everything was alright with your food as other restaurants do. We was trying to catch someone's eye but it was like they knew what we were going to say and steered well clear of us. So, unfortunatly we wont be going there again, theres no point in having a lovely place like that but no having the basic roast potatoes anywhere near a good standard.
A. E.
Great food😊
Staff were welcoming
T. S.
Love this place. Their carvery is always tasty and the staff there are very warm and welcoming. Have never had a bad meal there and go quite often.
S. J.
Only been for Sunday carvery here which is usually great with lots of all you can eat veg. Only been disappointed once when arrived towards end of service and meat had almost run out so given a smaller than usual portion.
D. H.
Solid modern pub. Carvery definitely the standout option, and a large plate between me and my husband proved a perfect portion size for comfortably under a tenner on a weeknight, making it rather impressive value as well.
T. J.
Lovely food. Nice staff. Just odd how they dont have staff to refill ur drinks. Waited over 10 mins for the lady to finish serving a big order to get my drink refilled when there were a number of waiting staff walking passed all the time that could easily of put my glass on the drink machine and pressed the button
R. C.
I just have a Sunday roast today, was amazing, really tasty and really nice vegetables finished with and delicious desserts. Good stuff and helpful. Definitely a place to come back
C. D.
Excellent pub. Served quickly even when busy. Staff all friendly and helpful, every time I have been there the food has been served hot and good sized portions. Pub is always clean and beer is always good
M. U.
Lovely carvery the beef melted in my mouth and my guest ate the fish it was delicious too. No wait time. Kids welcome.I recommend this lovely place highly.
S. B.
Meal very nice bar and waitress very friendly.. Nice and clean...
E. M.
Food was amazing although it took along time to arrive, we booked in, in advance upon arriving they didnt have our booking lucky I had my 2 confirmation texts we was seated quickly drinks took approx 20 minutes to arrive & the food approx an hour & 10 minutes, not much fun with a very hungry child, the pub was very busy with 50% off
M. B.
Staff nice, food good. Not so good is that staff not quick to clean tables. Last thing you want is food from previous diners getting on your cloths. Marsden, top tip, clear and clean tables promply or you'll lose custom to restaurants that care about diners.
L. S.
Food was lovely as was the service
S. C.
Super place to come and have a casual meal any day of the week but as we came on a Sunday the Carvery was on and the food was very good and they do say a busy place even though people complain it's busy, is the best place to eat also next time I hope we're not put right next to the door and the bar.
D. M.
Great parking, good food. Nice atmosphere, I imagine it would be great in the warmer weather too.
D. R.
We have used this pub regularly since it opened in 2014. Cannot fault the staff, service or food we have had in that time. It's the closest we get to a community in this part of Newport. From a traditional carvery to a wide selection of menu items there should be something for everybody here. Classic Marstons pub with a local twist.
R. E.
Nice and friendly staff, food was excellent. Will eat here again.
W. J.
In terms of decor, ambience and value for money I can't fault this place. Staff friendly and helpful especially the lady on the carvery. Didn't get her name but went on Friday 12th at 8.30pm
g. m.
Visited on lunchtime New Years Eve with two kids.
Great carvery and good selection of kids meals for my fussy daughter. Second time we have visied and would highly recommend it...Friendly Staff.
D. L.
Food is really hit and miss and is often over cooked - as if it's been sitting under a hot plate for too long. You know your dining pub grub when you have to ask them to wipe the table down for you before you eat...
A. O.
First time there wasnt to bad a bit of a wait for food and what I had wasnt that good thought it would be a bit bigger lasagne was not very tasty either.
J. J.
Steak's were awesome melted in your mouth definitely recomend a RUMP beautiful ..
d. s.
Blaina Wharf is a typical new build on the edge of a new housing estate. It has quite a large car park with disabled parking close to the main entrance.
A well stocked bar greets guests as they enter the building, and seating is plentiful inside and out. Dining is a choice of carvery, or selecting from a full and attractive menu.
There can sometimes be a slight problem with a lunchtime shortage of staff causing delays with the service. These problems are few and far between, and the result is worth the wait! Prices are very reasonable.
Altogether, a nice pub to visit!
T. T.
Had carvery very good food and friendly staff definitely would go again
L. D.
Nice enough pub with nothing overly unique about it. I didn't catch-on as to whether it was part of a chain, but the food and drink offerings suggested that it was. Food was nice enough and the staff were all lovely.
a. p.
Very friendly staff, always helpful & pleasant to talk to. Meals (especially carvery) tasty and excellent value for money. I recommend the Haddock fishcake with curry mayonnaise - very moorish!!!
P. J.
Good service, great food at a reasonable price, would recommend the carvery.
S. M.
Very good carvery and helpful staff. Environment was clean and tidy. Well organised.
T. S.
My colleague's and I took a group of our service users from Brynglas Day Opportunities Center to Blain's Wharf on Thursday 28th November. The staff there, whether serving behind the bar, waiting on our table or serving at carvery were exceptionally pleasant, curtious, polite and respectful to us all. They treated us as valuable members of our community going out of their way to meet our every need and want. I would like to offer the entire team our heartfelt appreciation for what was a tremendously pleasant, enjoyable Christmas meal out for our group. Thank you all.
D. D.
Standard pub , good staff but not enough had to wait 20 minutes to get a drink a couple of times.
K. D.
Great food and service and on q busy day
G. M.
Great staff, excellent choice of food on a Sunday as most places only serve roast dinners. Carvery was gorgeous! Will definitely return. Thanks
A. W.
Nice place to go. Have a carvery which is the quickest way to eat there no wait for food to be cooked it's already done. Disabled toilet and access. Play ground and kids play are in and outside. Outside eating area.
C. F.
It's a nice resteraunt, it can get crazy busy and I've had a rollercoaster of experiences over different times ive visited, sometimes excellent, sometimes rubbish. If you take it as a pub grub kind of place, your expectations will be met.
P. M.
Went there for granddaughter birthday treat. Was shown to table by Mark who gave my granddaughter a note for free piece of cake. I had carvery which is always top quality. After our meal granddaughter took note to get her free dessert which she decided to go for jelly and icecream. To our surprise two of the staff one called Josh brought jelly and icecream with two lighted candles in the jelly and sang happy birthday to her. Would like to thank the staff for making a little girl very happy. The food is always brilliant and the staff are always welcoming would recommend this pub every time.
J. D.
Wonderful establishment with great friendly staff and very high quality food at amazing prices. The cleanliness of the premises is of a very high standard top. Cannot wait to visit again soon.
G. P.
The food is good, a good team behind the bar although the play area isn't very safe as I witnessed a young girl not paying much attention as to where she was going while climbing to play on the slide go teeth first into the safety bar at the to, other than that it's a fantastic place to take your family
J. H.
We are always pleased with the food and the service at the Blaina Wharf Pub. The staff are so kind and helpful and always cheerful and obliging. This is one place where you can always rely on the beef being tender and edible.
n. o. h.
Went for lunch. Staff were really helpful, food was nice. Great place to have close by
J. K.
Excellent for families and large crowds. Had both carvery and main menu items and both were lovely. Decent pub grub. Will definately be coming back.
L. S.
Lovely atmosphere and staff were great, but carvery was bland pigs in blankets not the best flavour and cauliflower cheese was a bit mushy
G. H.
Great value carvery meals of you're in a rush and can't be bothered to cook one night in the week. Busy on a Thursday evening and weekends. Lovely friendly staff.
A. S.
Sunday lunch was amazing as always
Love the carvery
A. E.
Absolutely fabulous food. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Very welcoming staff. Toilets immaculately clean. Will definitely return.
H. R.
Great carvery and as its such a big place there's usually space to find a seat. Very challenging pub quiz. Child friendly too.
D. E.
I always find the food lovely here but yesterday we came and the beef was really tough to the point where my jaw was aching chewing on it
P. m.
Was ok bit basic can't say that impressed with classic burger and really not impressed that the non alcoholic cider was same price as alcoholic beverage most other places been was cheaper
s. p.
Not as good as it used to be. I like my meal hot but this was lukewarm
c. b.
5* for a carvery pub. All staff were really friendly.
S. B.
Went with family for Sunday lunch x
j. p.
Service was friendly and helpful But sadly Carvery was not great
Roast potatoes not very good
Turkey was dry and vegs choice could be better.
Like cauliflower but not with cheese on a dinner with gravy.
L. A.
Lovely staff, food was good and fast.l.
N. T.
Amazing food and staff defo be going again, thank you to u all
D. W.
Absolutely fantastic new year's day meal the mixed grill was spot on
M. e.
Never fails us ......just had another gorgeous carvery here, can't fault it service is great really friendly and helpful staff. We love this place great value for money and really cosy 😉
S. C.
Always nice food, But the carvery food is outstanding.
N. H.
Great service & food. The chocolate flake cheesecake was absolutely delicious. Will definitely visit again.
Thanks Gina for the great service.
b. r.
Good menu choices lovely food great service during difficult times
B. S.
Came on Sunday lunch time. The place was absolutely heaving and yet the service was excellent, food was hot and served quickly. Excellent choice as value for money.
S. H.
Stunning food as always. Friendly and welcoming staff gos along way.
D. R.
Had breakfast with santa took my 5 grandchildren and 6 adults it wasn't cheap.
It was utter chaos no one knew what they were supposed to do the beans were freezing and the toasters didn't work by the time one of us sorted the toaster out the breakfast was freezing and then the toaster packed in again The gifts for the children were the worst I've seen a selection pkt and a minute tub of play dough or a little plastic plane. We were told santa and Minnie and Mickey were there till 12 so held back for a while to see santa getting ready to leave as the times we were told were wrong luckily I ran over and he came across to see the baby or she would have missed him. I have been to the Blaina many times and usually with no problem but I feel they weren't really ready for the morning as there was definately a lack of staff especially around the food and the poor girl was run off her feet
Next year I definately won't be taking my grandchildren to the Blaina

Always great service. Never had a bad meal. Needs a bit of a update/paint etc but that has no reflection on the service

Always enjoy the carvery here....friendly and efficient service.....meal checked twice....once by waitress and again by the duty manager..... thought I nearly lost the wife with (death by a pig in a blanket) but she managed to find her breath before I thought I would have to attempt my first Heinmich manoeuvre. (defo need to get her life insurance sorted) 😂.

We arrived at the blaina warf at 2.05pm looked at the menu for my wife, myself and granddaughter we all decided what we wanted to eat so at 2.30pm i ordered our meals as time went on i said to my wife our food is taking a long time as it was now 3.09pm so i checked the time that i ordered our food on the receipt and it was ordered at 2.33pm so up to now 36 minutes had gone by and not had our meals we said wait another 10 minutes if not here i will ask anyway another 10 minutes gone by and no food at the table so i went and seen the lady on the till who said she would sort it out so went back to our table 15 minutes later our food comes so from time I ordered our food it took a hour for 3 meals to arrive at the table so we weren't very happy about that especially as the blaina warf wasn't busy at all so anyway we had eaten our food and my 7yr old granddaughter wanted a ice-cream so i went and ordered the ice-cream for her and again was waiting 25 minutes just for a child's ice-cream food was nice but the service wasn't up to scratch we were very disappointed as we always eat at the blaina warf not ever had this amount of waiting time for food to be brought to the table
