Popped in on the off chance with wife and daughter. Really friendly welcome from staff and the service was excellent. Had a couple of burgers (BOGOF on a Thursday) some wings and an XL mixed grill. Food cooked to perfection and my steak was just how I like it. If ever in the area again I would certainly pop in again.

Eat your heart out London pubs. The menu, apologies for bad quality pics, are unbelievable. And the service is typical South Wales wonderful hospitality. Also, Fuller and Green Man pubs in London, look at the prices. And I know about rents, etc ... but .... If you driving through Wales ... come off the M4 and visit the Man of Gwent.

Excellent value for money. 25% off all challenge meals on a Friday. Tried the 32oz steak and cheese challenge. Cooked rare, the rump steak was really nice and all of the accompaniments were equally as well cooked and tasty. And for £15.00! The IPA is a decent pint too. Friendly staff, on site parking and seems to be very busy so booking recommended.

Nice food and great prices but brought out the order wrong once, and the chips had to be reheated. The chairs were pretty uncomfortable, but all in all I'd still go again as I think they were under pressure this time as it was busy, and didn't have a problem last time we went apart from the uncomfortable seating.

Always friendly staff, food lush as always never been disappointed so far, been here numerous times. Ladies toilets, Only gripe 2 sinks on left as you go in no running water, 1 sink on right is fine, some of the locks on toilet doors don't line up properly for you to lock door.

The Man of Gwent has always been a great pub. As it is now, it serves good food and a variety of good beers & lagers at a good price. It is always friendly, whether your out with your mates or family or even if your passing whilst walking the dog. Service is great, as are the staff. Some of the meal challenges are well worth a go, especially as there is 25% off on a Friday. Book to make sure you get a table.

Drove through Newport to avoid traffic chaos at The Brynglas Tunnels. Happened upon this pub and had a warm welcome. Myself and three pals all had a meal and a beer. My steak was overcooked but still tasty and everyone else had nice food. Plenty of parking space. Would definitely recommend.

1st time ever eating in at The Man Of Gwent. What can i say? Very friendly staff with great sense of humour. Their customer service is fantastic. The food was by far the best pub food I've enjoyed in a long time. Huge portions, fresh flavours and as tender as can be. The desserts menu is just beautiful. Avoid the Tabasco Scorpion Sauce wings, they taste good but they are HOT!!!!! Great service + quality food = bargain price. Can't complain. Will definitely recommend to others, will most definitely return with a bigger appetite!!!

Popped in for a swift pint & was extremely surprised with the popularity of this place. I hadn't intended to eat there, but had a look at the menu and changed my mind. Tried the seniors menu which was very good value. Considering how busy it was, I thought there would be a delay, but no, my starter came out very quickly and when as soon as I'd finished I was asked if I was ready for my main course - that too came out quickly. The quality of the food was excellent and very tasty. All in all, I couldn't fault it, seems well run & top marks to all concerned.

Went in for steak night and the steak was fab. Excellent value for money and the drinks and side orders are reasonably priced too. Lovely little family pub with an outside sitting area too. Great family pub. The wings are delicious and the steaks very good quality. Love the fact the steak is served on a skillet on a bed of onions. Waffle fries are a must!! Definitely worth the upgrade. Staff are very friendly too and always come to see if there is anything else they can do for you.

Nice place, we went on a Friday lunchtime and there was one person on the bar with a queue out the door, this was an issue as to order your meal you have to go to the bar so took 20 minutes just to place our order. We were probably just unlucky with timing though as the bar was quieter when we left at 2pm. Food was standard chain pub grub, the challenge meals looked very big but we had meals off the 2 for £9.99 and they were small but that was to be expected for the price. All in all it was fine, I wouldn't be against going again but also not bothered if I don't.

Varied menu and plenty of choices for drinks. Children are more than welcome so at times you may have to wait for a table if there is a group of you as tables get booked up. All in all, this is a really nice family pub/restaurant with an outdoor area also.

This pub does different offers on meals mon to friday. Like grill nights curry night's etc. GOOD offers on kid's food. It's a very lively and popular place. Sometimes reservations would be best so as not to disappoint when full. Also if your feeling hungry, you can try the challenge. Not many get through this . Alcoholic drinks served as normal in a pub great coffee. Also o a pool table if you want a game. Some outside seating but not a very big parking area.

I thought this was a gay bar called the Man Of Bent but to my surprise it was a family restaurant. So I had to quickly get changed out of my gimp suit in the bathroom.
