Reviews of The Old Fort, Seaview
A. D.
Amazing, busy atmosphere. Attentive and speedy service. great variety and quality of food and healthy wine list. Great local gin.
I had the Burger, which was high quality, well seasoned and well constructed. However it was slightly overdone and dry, would have benefited from a burger sauce or relish for moisture and sweetness. The fries were amazing - perfectly crisp and seasoned, just delicious. Pricing is reasonable for a gastro pub, views are amazing over to the mainland.
P. L.
Standard pub atmosphere, great if you like loud inebriates. Lots of lovely outside seating with expansive sea views if the weather permits. Interesting menu for food but we went for afternoon tea - decent pots of tea but no cakes, just a couple of Biscof available.

Absolutely love this little place. We arrived at 5pm on a November evening. We went for a little walk along the beach in the cold and rain then arrived at The Old Fort, a small, warm, cosy pub with a real lovely atmosphere. We were told that food didn't start until 5.30pm, so as we were seated at a table and ordered x1 Latte and x3 hot chocolates and sat and enjoyed the best veiw of the beach from the warmth and comfort of The Old Fort and our hot drinks. At 5.30pm we ordered our food and it arrived quickly. My husband, 2 boys and I absolutely loved the food. So fresh the fish looked like it had jumped from the sea on to the plate. I can only imagine how beautiful this place is in the summer, as there is outdoor seating on the sea front. Can't wait to come back here again. Just perfect. I noticed Dogs are also welcome.
P. G.
Fantastic dinning experience here. Lovely wine , food and drink . Great customer service and a lovely time with my dad and fellow patrons. The food was high standard I loved my brisket and cheesecake.
H. W.
What a lovely place for aeal with friends or family or even just a drink. The staff are so friendly with nothing too much trouble. There is bar seating down stairs and a restaurant upstairs. Some seats have a lovely view out too sea. There's a good choice on the menu and the prices aren't too high. The food was really well cooked and had lots of taste.

We had lunch here on 2 consecutive days whilst we were touring the Island. Both days, we hadn't booked, and were warmly welcomed and had great tables. We both ate huge sandwiches with salad and fries on the first day. On the 2nd day, we chose something more substantial as we were catching an evening ferry. My Wife had the risotto which she said was superb, I had a chicken and mushroom pie from the specials board. What a pie - absolutely huge with mash and loads of lovely vegetables to accompany it. Unfortunately, I was defeated and couldn't finish it. It really was one of the best pies I've ever had. We weren't rushed on either day- we were glad to sit and enjoy a coffee whilst overlooking the amazing view. We had a great time at The Old Fort- lovely people, and brilliant food. It's a real gem- we love going there whenever we are on the Island. Many Thanks !
L. A.
Really delicious food, gorgeous restaurant and the pub had a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend
M. S.
Lovely food and beautiful location. We had dinner sitting outside overlooking on the bay. Amazing! Very good food and nice service. Very busy place though.
P. d.
Lively little pub, serving food and drink, where you'll be lucky to get a table or a parking space most of summer. Nice location right by the sea so great place to
watch the world go by. Had a nice lunch here with friends and it was all around £25. Ordered drinks and sandwiches, which had generous fillings and came with fries and salad. My friends ham was a bit too thickly sliced for my liking, but they loved it and my grated cheese and pickle was just right for me. Will definitely visit again.
E. L.
I literally can not say enough about this gem in Seaview.
We were never rushed. The food is great with a selection of specials that changed during the week.
Something for everyone on the menu

We visited The Old Fort in a party of 20. We normally expect some issues when we visit restaurants in such a larger number but the guys at the old fort absolutely nailed it. Food came out all together, it was delicious and piping hot. Our server, Conner delt with 20 Mancunians professionally and was on the ball all the way through. Thanks guys for giving us another lovely memory of this beautiful island.
J. F.
Absolutely fantastic. The food was stunning, lots of different dishes on the menu and some great vegan choices too!
Wonderfully presented food in a very welcoming environment.
Always enjoy going and love that it still feels like a nice place to just go for some drinks too!
Looking foward to returning soon!
J. C. L.
lovely pub, unfortunately when our party of 6 visited (3 of whom were visitors to the island) 14.09.21, niether service nor food was as good as other people have reported in their reviews.
one meal had to be returned because it was served burnt & the sea bass was surprisingly tiny!
...not all bad news though, the majority of our meals were ok, but pricey for what we got.
(maybe they had a staffing problem when we went?)
A.
Friendly place, dog friendly in the downstairs part of the restaurant. The fish and chips were delicious, really fresh fish with a light and crispy batter, chunky chips with a light herb seasoning and tasty tartar sauce. We ate outside on a table with a view of the sea as they were fully booked, It was a lovely evening for it.
D. B.
Friendly staff, food very tasty 😋
O. t. B. S.
Whilst was very warm (we were upstairs) the food and especially the service were exceptional. We were 9 people and we only had praise. Our main waitress ( did not get name but damaged knee playing frisbee) made the evening a total delight.
R. R. d. B.
This place is the cutest and the view is breathtaking. Don't forget to book well in advance as the 3/4 times I went there, they had no table avail.
The staff is lovely and the food is decent.
J. R.
Ate here 3 times over my 7 day stay in the area, that says a lot about the quality. All meals were very good and the staff were polite, friendly and professional. Booking in advance would be wise.
A. C.
Nice place, very busy, had lemon sole on specials which was tasty altho hardly any meat on it at all, think I got 4 small forkfuls if that, served with average new potatoes in butter and a quite boring bit of salad, overpriced for what I got wouldn't have it again. Lovely setting food is good generally, very busy at wkends recommend booking
K. G.
Food was excellent... a little expensive, nice seafront location. Had a slight cafe feel than top resaurant.
H. D.
The fish and chips here were the best! The fish was crispy and not greasy and the chunky chips were delicious. We'd definitely recommend it.
H. A. L.
A cozy, family-run business serving delicious food. They have Curry Night on Wednesdays. Has a pub feel to it. Has been renovated fairly recently. I ordered the crab cocktail and enjoyed it very much.
F. H.
Delicious lunch, nice surroundings. I had Roasted Mediterranean Veg on couscous in filo pastry basket.
C. R.
Visited here on Easter Monday and stopped for a pint and to see a different view of the coast. While it was busy and they had run out of quite a few beers due to the crowd I was still able to get a nice beer and a seat at a table by the sea.
What more could you want on sunny bank holiday.
P. “. N.
Just had a wonderful meal to celebrate my birthday. The service is first rate and the food arrived warm and appetising. Thank you for making this an evening dinner to remember. Certainly recommend this establishment.
N. B.
Lovely food and great view! Staff were friendly and I really had fun here.
B. B.
Very nice place excellent food and lovely helpful staff with stunning views would highly recommend this restaurant and bar
A. K.
We have really enjoyed our dinner last year. We went out with our daughters and we loved the quality of the food, the ambience and the marvellous service.
K. T.
Friendly and varied company, good food with a lovely view of the sea, possibly too busy in high season but we went in September.
J. T.
Very friendly and warm welcome. Food excellent. Service with a smile 😊. Highly recommend.
H. S.
Only went for drinks, so cannot comment on food. Beautiful location with outside seating on either side of a quiet road. Friendly service. Extensive gin menu. Perfect for a sunny day.
D. L.
Really enjoyed our lunch there really good quality food very tasty will come back again.
K. L.
Amazing views overlooking the Solent just add to the attraction of The Old Fort. Great menu of really tasty food served by friendly and attentive staff. Give yourself a treat and visit soon.
I. H.
Good selection of well prepared food. Superb location. Polite, helpful staff.
M. B.
Always make a bee line for this place when in the area. Fantastic location with uninterrupted sea views. Highly recommend coffee and cake.
S. G.
Cheap, cheerful, staff are excellent, food delicious, would highly recommend.
M. D.
Great food, great staff and a lovely venue, with fantastic sea views over the Solent
D. C.
Had a really nice meal here whilst visiting the Island to see family. The service was prompt and efficient. The food was excellent - beautifully cooked, fresh and well presented. It is most certainly not the cheapest - but perhaps this is a case of getting what you pay for. However, I really could not fault it. I hope to be back on my next visit to the Island.

Visited the Old fort whilst on holiday in St Helens, what a wonderful place to dine, with great sea views and amazing food cooked to perfection. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Very nice decor which made the whole eating experience a pool pleasure. Would highly recommend the belly of pork and the cod and chips both meals were delicious and well presented.
Definitely our goto restaurant next year. What a great find.
m. s.
Just had a wonderful meal at The Old Fort tonight with my two sons. The dishes on the menu and specials were all really interesting - making it really hard to choose. Nothing bland here!
The food came very promptly and it was really excellent - as was the service. Very friendly vibe in the restaurant.
Highly recommend this place.
W. B.
This is in a fantastic location with outdoor seating right on the sea front. We ordered food to take-away and disappointingly they were out of stock of a number of items on an already small menu. However, the staff were very friendly and the service was fast.
T. L.
We just had drinks but I did spy what others were eating and it looked really good. We sat out side right next to the see front. Great view and really peaceful. Defo recommended
p. d.
The staff were friendly and polite, decided to have the sea bream which was cooked to perfection, could have had more salad and less potatoes.
I would recommend.
S. R.
Only popped in for a coffee on arrival to IOW , it was a nice looking place, pleasant people and the coffee and cake were lovely.
A. L.
Great place to eat with fantastic views across the Solent.
P. B.
Such a friendly place! Good food and a lovely view our offer the Solent while you munch on delicious bites. Particularly impressed with the good sized, dressed salad that came with our sandwiches. Dog welcomed, clean and delicious. Thank you 😁
M. H.
Recently and thoroughly redecorated the restaurant was friendly and welcoming. The lunch we ordered was superb and we will definitely return on our next island visit. Recommended without any hesitation.
D. S.
Good food, nice people, great beer, amazing view. Great for tourist and islanders
I had Squid and Cod 'n' chips. The squid was amazing, lovely pepery taste. The cod was great. Proper fish'n'chip style but much more. The big chunky chips are nice and fluffy inside.
The staff at the old fort were kind and manage many tables with seeming ease.
The Wight Knuckle IPA I had was fantastic local beer, would recommend.
The 200 degree view of the Solent, from bembridge to Portsmouth. You can watch the giant ship passing by in the distance, and the history forts guarding the cities. The restaurant plays into its position with maps, oars and other maritime goods across the walls. A modern style with vintage maritime displays makes the restaurant a nice place to be.
One of my favourite spots on the island. For tourist and locals.
D. W.
Pub with picture windows and outside tables on the sea wall with views across the Solent.
Sandwiches on lovely fresh malted bread, prawns and cod goujons with fries were very good. Nicely kept Goddards Ale of Wight too.
C. B.
Always helpful, cheerful staff, perfectly fine pub grub. And lovely views in all seasons, whether overner holiday throngs or locals off-season. Love it. Go and see for yourselves.
D. C.
Nice and relaxed place this. Good food and friendly staff. Recommended!
L.
Good service and food. Lovely views. Our go to in Seaview.
M. T.
Great location on the sea edge in Seaview.
Food reasonably priced.
Team members can be a bit condescending
n. j.
Nice food, good service great views.
Beware the service charge on the bill though. They do remove it if asked. We had already left a tip on the table.
D. R.
Had a walk came across the fort so went inn for a drink and some food I had the crab sandwich the wife had prawn sandwich that both came with fries food spot on and the views from the window upstairs was adding to the experience spot on thank you and accommodated us with no booking
G.
What a hidden gem,, popped in for lunch, the food and service excellent, while just watching the world pass by the location,,
P. C.
Only stopped for a drink or so. But this place is lovely. Stopped in for a liquid lunch. Staff are fantastic and very accommodating, the food looks fantastic! I'll definitely be popping back for food no doubts!
L. P.
Lovely restaurant, we have been twice now and both times the food was delicious. The views across the solent are fantastic, and the service is very friendly. Will be back again.
N. T.
Quiet, quick service, varied selection of beers, interesting maps in the toilets, outside seating with sea view.
B. R.
Perfect view, service and food! Came her one night and came her the next morning. The awards this place has got do not lie!
M. D.
Popped I for lunch with grandson and she who must be obeyed. Good menu had a pleasant gin marinated salmon salad, little finished off his chicken nuggets and chips as if he hadnt been fed all week. Her indoors enjoyed jacket tattie with Mediterranean veg. Beer was a nicely kept Goddards. Girls serving and pouring very pleasant.
C. B.
Great location in Seaview selling decent (if pricey) beer and very good food.
R. D.
Absolutely gorgeous food. The celeriac soup was creamy and delicious. The slow cooked pork belly was melt in your. Friendly staff as well. Right on the seafront too so lovely view.
P. C.
The best Sunday lunch I have had in a long time
N. R.
Great place to sit out and watch the world go by , while enjoying a beer
M. S.
What a little gem! Fabulous location overlooking the water. Staff are friendly and attentive. We turned up without a booking around 5pm. They don’t serve food until 5.30 but found us a table and we’d ordered and had our food before that time. Looks to be a busy place so would recommend booking. A definite return visit next time we’re on the island. 😁
T. R.
Just spent an evening in this excellent restaurant with lovely views from upstairs. It was very busy but they found a table for four of us and our very small dog. We were welcomed to our seats by a very friendly and welcoming waiter from Liverpool who looked after us very well. The menu was a little limited hence the four stars but the meals were enjoyed by all. We will definitely go back there again the next time visit the lsland.
S.
The Old Fort has had a complete make-over and the decor is very attractive. We had a great table overlooking the sea. The service was good, our wine arrived quickly and the food followed in reasonable time. We had the most delicous burgers with perfect chips and salads. It was an all round excellent evening.
E. D.
We decided to eat here whilst staying in Seaview on holiday. There were 6 of us with very differing tastes and I was a little worried that the menu might not offer enough variety and having passed by several times during the day was a bit apprehensive about what the atmosphere might offer. However, it was a huge hit all round, the food was delicious, the staff were very friendly, the service was excellent and the restaurant itself had a lovely atmosphere with great views. Would certainly recommend.
J. C.
Passable. Not much in the way of a vegetarian/ vegan menu. Also quite a lot of flies.
S. M.
Delicious food, fab views across the harbour to Portsmouth. Super service from cheerful, helpful staff. Great prices and varied menu served promptly in very pleasant surroundings. Will definitely be going again. Well done, The Old Fort
A. W.
Popped in for some hot drinks whilst walking along the coastal path from Ryde to Seaview. Lovely outdoor space with covered tables, friendly staff and teas and coffees were all fine - we didn't try it, but the carrot cake looked excellent. A lovely place to pop into.
D. H.
Good food, beer and wine. Efficient and helpfull staff. Some badly behaved noisy kids and parents on our first visit took out some enjoyment of our meal. Ah well, not the pubs fault! (We did return).
C. R.
Nice place, very clean, service staff was friendly. The chips tasted fantastic, lovely coating on them. Portion sizes are big, sandwiches mega filled with prawns. Very tasty x
D. V.
What a location for sightseeing in isle of wight. We visited their with our family and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Historic sight and well located.
G. D.
A great location with sea views, friendly and helpful staff serving high quality food, couldn't ask for more. Will definitely be visiting again when back on the island..
J. D.
Went for lunch at 12pm with our 2 year old mid week and had a lovely lunch. Would Defo go again the food was good quality and it was nice looking out to the sea.
P. H.
Recommend the fish and chips. Very good service and reasonable prices.
J. W.
I love the Old Fort! Great food, drinks and view
W. 9. (.
Amazing food and very friendly service! Will definitely be visiting again! 😊👍
M. D.
Great food, great customer service, great views upstairs.
D. F.
Booked a table for 7 people at 8 pm. Had to wait 30 minutes because the people before us had turned up 1 hour late ( because it is Cowes week). Having ordered food we then waited 50 minutes for it.No explanation or apology. When it arrived, the food was very good but by then the experience was ruined. Being typical British,we grumbled amongst ourselves but did not query the service charge! Maybe even a free drink at least could have been offered.
J. S.
First time out to a restaurant since lockdown, check in was simple & stress free, all socially distanced & very relaxed. Meal was freshly prepared & cooked to exact requirements. Husband is quite a plain eater but said best cooked fillet steak ever & peppercorn sauce was not too hot & perfectly creamy. I’m not a fish fan but wanted to try Sea bass & was not disappointed, asked for no garlic butter & it was presented perfectly. Already booked return visit. Well done to the chef & all staff, the refurb looks great too, thank you
M. K.
Great place really enjoyed our stay. Staff were so nice and helpful and food was lovely. Can't wait to go back.
T. A.
Lovely location, great selection of gluten free food options.
K. R.
Just went for a drink but staff very friendly. Hope to pop back soon for a meal.
M. H.
We've eaten here twice this week. Cheerful young staff. Dog friendly downstairs and lovely pub grub. Not an extensive menu but everything cooked to perfection. A lovely place.
C. J.
Lovely food good views excellent polite service
T. N.
Nice pub. We sat outside on a hot summers day. Nice view of portsmouth from the outside seating
J. K.
Friendly place with wonderful views of the sea. Good, honest food.
C. C.
We always have a good night when we go to the Fort.
T. S.
It must be good, ate there 5 times in two weeks. Fabulous views and v good food
H. J. B.
Lovely place. Hadn't been in a few years, thought we would give it a try. So lucky we did. Staff were friendly and courteous, even had a laugh with us as I was lifting baby chairs over peoples heads. I had a chicken curry burger and I would go as far to say it's the nicest burger I've ever had.
M. W.
Excilent food and
Quick service would go again but poor parking near. By.
S. M.
Pleasant outlook from this bar, restaurant. Could see Portsmouth etc.
D. B.
Had a lovely meal here, right next to the sea loved it would recommend having a meal here everything is cooked fresh and they have a bar there as well. Would recommend to book they get very busy, the staff are very polite and it's very clean.
N. S.
Great food reasonably priced staff really friendly and accommodating. A member of staff drove us home when a family member became unwell. Great customer service as while I had gone they kept my food order warm then recooked it fresh when I returned so the food quality would not be compromised a welcome gesture and a team who care about their standards reputation and customers. A big thank you to Jean for driving us home and the rest of the team for excellent customer service. Dog friendly inside and outside too!
M. B.
Amazing surf and turf whilst looking out to the sea. Perfect evening 👌
f.
Excellent service, good food, dog friendly. Try sitting upstairs if you like views of the passing boats.
M. H.
Great thoughtful food and plenty of outside seating by the sea. Book for inside tables... or you *might* be lucky! Both the pasta and salads we had were great.
V. C.
Great meal with great service with amazing views
N. M.
Great food, lovely staff and a fair price will definitely be going again
A. H.
Lovely views of the bay and welcoming staff, great menu and nice food, ate here three times while we were visiting. Thoroughly reccomend.
G. B.
Managed to get a seat for two without booking in this busy place, so best to book if you can. A number of options for vegetarians. Great views over the harbour.
R. R.
Good food with good choice Good wines at reasonable prices Good service from friendly staff Great location The upstairs has views of the Solent
P. N.
Called in for lunch on a very wet day, nice place, staff very pleasant. We were in Isle of Wight for few days break with some friends. Food was very nice and reasonable price 👌, definitely recommend it.
S. B.
Absolutely delicious!!
Lovely staff and relaxed atmosphere.
Excellent menu with plenty of choice whether you want a quick sandwich or a full on treat.
Staff are helpful and friendly
J. D.
My partner and I enjoyed a delicious meal (Scallops & Moules-frites) in The Old Fort’s beautiful new upstairs restaurant with panoramic sea views, a relaxed ambiance and great Playlist. Staff were wonderful and attentive, the entire pub was bustling and appears to have been freshened up inside and out. We ended our evening watching a magnificent Sun set from the sea wall adjacent to the Old Fort.
M. T.
Beautiful view. Clean and cheery. Friendly servers and great service.
M. F.
Great food, helpful staff, lovely atmosphere
E. P.
Excellent food. Good service. Friendly staff. Will return soon
B. H.
Great views, if weather fine ideal seating outside. Lovely food. They cook seafood perfectly.
A. M.
Wonderful location, super friendly staff and yummy food
G. B.
We booked a table for 8 this evening after we had a meal a few days ago. Both times we had amazing food. Great atmosphere in there and the most friendly staff! The menu was different both times which showed it was all really fresh food. One of our party was vegan and had really nice meals both times. Great place! Ps. Really quick service despite previous Google reviews!
C. W.
Lovely place for good food (plenty of fresh seafood as you would expect) and drink. The layout of the dinning area mean that pretty much every table has a view out over the Solent which is great. Be warned that due to the quality of food and limited options in the area for proper meals this place can get very busy. If you definitely want a seat I would recommend booking.
M.
Amazing food with a picturesque view of the bay!
c.
A very nice pub for a lunchtime drink very clean and good staff
G. H.
Great value, fantastic views, and brilliant for a young family. Thank you for a great meal!
K. V.
My family and I came for dinner one night and the staff at the old fort were extremely accomodating. Charlotte especially was super smiley and nothing was too big an ask, she is a huge credit to the team and creates such a welcoming and positive vibe for the restaurant. A lovely atmosphere with plenty of options to
please all dietary requirements. Thank you!!
v. s.
Fabulous meal, lovely staff, as always. Great place to unwind...
J. M.
The 4 of us had a fabulous dinner. We all had something different, and each meal was great.
You couldnt fault the service : friendly and efficient. We will be going back!
C. D.
Been my local for many years now and I've seen this pub go from strength to strength over the years. The food on offer there now is first class and all locally sourced, sensibly priced delicious cuisine is served both at lunchtime and evenings too. On Wednesday the infamous curry night draws people from a distance and never fails to impress but you're advised to book for this (all year round)weekly night - friendly staff and decent beers on tap too. You'll not be disappointed with this seafront pub rest assured :-)
A. L.
Beef burger good. Lamb burger good. Scampi good. Steak average. Felt like we were the forgotten customers. Friendly service but it shouldn't take 2hrs to serve a 2 course meal.
M. F.
Great location looking out over the Solent where you can sit on the sea wall and enjoy a pint and your food. Food is decent nothing special but what you would expect from a pub! Would definitely recommend and staff were lovely!
A. C.
The old fort sits on the road side with amazing views across the see. They have a small amount of outdoor seating under cover and plenty over the road. The atmosphere is lovely and I enjoyed my time there.
The food was unimpressive. I ordered the penne Bolognese, the portion size was comparable to that of a children's meal, at £10 I was left hungry and unsatisfied.
The service was great and the staff where quick to rectify a missing ingredient from the other option we ordered.
A great location for a light afternoon snack but don't come expecting to leave with a full stomach.
D. H.
Lovely meal, great venue and excellent service. Would recommend
A. V.
Great location. Super staff. Very friendly and efficient and food was excellent.
Highly recommended.
J. L.
Can't fault this place. Why not try it yourself?
P. F.
Thought the menu was a bit limited.
BUT I had the steak and it was one of the best I have ever tasted.
Great location.lovely staff
B. G.
A great place for afternoon tea especially on a sunny October afternoon. Lovely position overlooking the sea. Full of character. Relaxed atmosphere and mellow music. Staff very helpful. Will definitely visit again for lunch or dinner.
V. M.
Friendly service, very spacious, clean and atmospheric. Excellent quality food. A good selection of specials on the menu. The apple crumble was exceptional!! Highly recommend this restaurant.
H. R.
Superb meal here! Top quality ingredients, wonderful flavours, expertly cooked. Very much enjoyed.
C. R.
Arrived at the Old Fort by a small ferry boat which runs regularly, you can also walk there, if you feel inclined. Had a very interesting visit around the Old Fort - so much history! Also enjoyed lunch in the sunshine before catching the ferry back.
N. (. i. m. m.
Nice place, very nice staff, food was great and the view brilliant
R. S.
Lovely spot, nice local ale and friendly staff. Unfortunately we missed the lunchtime food but we will call back to try the food at another time 👍
D. L.
Great spot for a stop off on a beach walk
S. c.
Took quite a while to clear the table from previous customers and the staff could be a bit more cheery.
However, a nice location and good views.
D. S. (.
Very polite and cheerful staff, and they had room for our large group of 13 people.
The grub was fantastic, and food envy was rife amongst us, especially when one of us had the Chicken Curry burger!!
A member of the staff, Peter I think, even took time out to chat to us about the forts and some of the surrounding area.
We will definitely come here again.
R. H.
Lovely food we had lunch and the sea view is great
T.
Very good customer service, staff members were very polite and friendly, food was reasonably priced, very nice and came quickly. A reasonable menu range executed well with a mixed selection of regular and vegetarian options. Ordered the steak which was cooked perfectly.
A. P.
My favourite pub on the IoW. Right on the waterfront, with outdoor tables next to the sea wall. The fare of pub & seaside classics are consistently fantastic and cater to both families and groups of friends. The staff are incredibly friendly and I highly recommend if in the area (and worth making a detour if not).
N. B.
Great service and good menu in seaside setting
T. L.
We love this pub, always friendly with a fine selection of ales. The food is standard pub with curry nights on Weds. The decor is old but authentic. If you want a beer by the water you cannot go wrong.
H. H.
An old favourite but COVID restrictions made it feel a bit as if the staff wanted us in and out quickly. We were asked multiple times by different staff if we'd ordered, then if food was ok. Perhaps it was nerves, but it spoiled the atmosphere a bit.
A. J.
Food is good. However, there is a very limited menu and it's more like a fish and chip cafe (not that they do fish and chips) than a bar/restaurant. Bitter very expensive at £4.50 a pint.
D. G.
Excellent food and service, really great staff.
N. T.
Had a nice meal. The staff were amazingly friendly and did a great job. Highly recommend.

We had a superb fillet steak meal with really good, friendly service. The restaurant was well organised to maintain social distancing. The position on the esplanade and the view of the Solent is a bonus.

Went here for our first meal, wonderful place to visit. Great sraff, menu and surroundings
K. S.
Bit overpriced £10+ for chilli and rice. Had to ask for nachos and was dry but tasty so commented at the end as an advisory point. Drinks also pricey. But you pay for the view of the Solent. Overall a pleasant evening.
K. A.
Amazing place with great staff and awesome food.
T. V.
Lovely quirky cafe on the waterfront at Seaview. Not cheap
G. R.
Good menu. Good drinks choices and very professional staff. All round Nice place to be.

For tourist, quite busy in evening. On my evening there reserved a table for two, got there hostess was over worked. Sat myself and partner in front of the bar, right next to main walkway entrance with no social distance! Enquired for other seating waitress just smiled and said sorry!
Just walked out. Total waste of time!
Would never go back! Horrible experience.
R. A.

A. S.
Great place for a bite to eat or a drink by the sea. Mrs enjoyed the vegan flatbread dish and I liked the scampi n chips. Plenty of character and friendly staff (they brought out colouring books for our toddler) and Seaview has a great beach to forage for shells and treasures...... and iggle piggle boats
I. V.
Great service, friendly staff, food really good. Would definitely recommend
S. K.
Friendly staff and good food. Bring a healthy appetite as portions are big

Great location, amazing views, staff are lovely, food (fish and chips) was nice but wasn't as good as expected. The area is very small but extremely nice, great for children to play on the small beach. Definitely worth a visit.

Fabulous restaurant, food, service with unique view across the Solent. Highly recommended.
C. S.
Recently extended & refurbished but has kept its character. Good food, mid-range prices and great views of the Solent, seawall patio if you want to get closer. It would be better without the boring, repetitive background music.
