Reviews of Brampton Halt
K. S.
We came here as we were staying next door @ Sedgebrook hall, the pub was amazing! Outside is stunning, loads of seating area. Inside is very clean and well decorated. Felt like we had come to a top restaurant. Service was amazing. Staff very helpful and jolly. We had king prawns for starters which were amazing. The flavours were spot on. Main course I had pork belly, which just melted in my mouth. Once again full of flavour. My partner had mushroom linguine which was also very tasty. I also had a couple of cocktails which were very nice! All in all an amazing place to go for a bite to eat. Price was very reasonable for the standard of the food. Would highly recommend. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a Beautiful Fish and chips with a lovely Hot chocolate and cream and marshmallows. Then went for a lovely walk . Recommend this definitely.. My Cara ( dog ) got free water and Biscuits

Came here as was staying next door at Sedgebrook Hall. It was a Friday night and so so busy but it didn’t put us off! The manager gave us free drinks due to having to wait longer for our booked table to become available! Good customer service! :D The food was absolutely amazing!! Delicious, Tasty, full of flavour. Was very good. Nothing was too much for these guys. If in the area will definitely be coming again! Thank you :)

Great venue to visit.
Not amazing food. But "good" food. A little pricey, but service was good, food was good.
Beers where expensive, 5.65 a moretti.
A double burger at £18 was excessive pricing. Almost profiteering.
There are alot better out there. A good example being I can pay 18 here or see the UK contenders for best burger (or food fit) and pay half the price. Possibly a captive market, but it doesn't sit comfortably.
I understand the business needs to make a profit but there is a line to consumers where it becomes commercial suicide as nobody will want to "upgrade" due to the profiteering.

Beautiful food. Great staff. Any problems they will sort it. There was a mistake with our starters. They apologised sorted it really quickly gave us some drinks on the house.
The chef knows his craft. One of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Very few chefs could ever give me steak just the way I want is. This chef was the chef. Well done to the chef.

Next to the Sedgebrook Hall nice alt to the hotel if you fancy a change for your meal. Very busy though quick service Food was delicious Lovely railway next door and a lake

6/5 - T the best pub meal I've had in a long while, cuisine bougee level, was worth the wait. Absolutely . I'd drive an hour again to dine there. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I want more...hahaha

Lots of space inside and out to eat and drink. Nice menu and friendly staff. Portions were generous in size and food was good. There was a large party there so not sure if that contributed to the volume but did find it a little loud at times. Staff were great - especially when they had to tell our 3 year old there were no rocket lollies and he was on the verge of a meltdown!
C. B.
The food was delicious couldn't fault it but our table was booked for 7.15 and drinks and nibbles arrived promptly. The main course was served at 9.00pm, we asked several times what had happened and were told it would be two minutes, the waiter offered us free desserts or a round of drinks as compensation for the delay. We assume this was due to lack of staff in the kitchen as there were plenty of staff front of house. If you are prepared for a long wait the food is worth waiting for and the staff were very polite and friendly..
A. S.
Lovely food. Nice place.. Lively. Friendly team to look after you. Only issue for me was the cocktails are weak with alcohol and taste. Same with liqueur coffee. Very little taste. Other than that, very nice evening. Certainly recommend.
A. B.
Not been here in a few years but it was a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. I had the roast beef which was really good quality, the most disappointing bit was the roast potatoes we all got. The atmosphere here is good, can get a little loud when there are lots of people in but nothing offensive. Lovely place for food with a great outdoor area too. Often frequented by cyclists during the warmer months.
G. C.
Not a bad experience. Food was ok for a large menu pub food restaurant. Staff could have been a little more helpful. We sat at our table for 20 minutes till we realized it was order at the bar style. No one bothered to tell us. Price range was fair, so all in all not too bad at all. Worth a visit.

Only popped in for a coffee after a walk, but changed our minds when we heard they were still serving breakfast. We ordered, but then a lady (manager) with a bit of an accent said no, the gas was off, so they couldn't serve us. We asked about sandwiches, and she said we can't cook anything with the gas off. She was very aggressive in her tone, and we simply wanted a nice morning and so didn't point out that a cheese or ham sandwich didn't require cooking. We felt she would have argued the point regardless. She was pretty rude.
However the original male who served us could not have been more accommodating, nor more polite. Wish we had taken his name to highlight his efforts.
In the background, the manager was talking very loudly, and swearing a fair bit. A very unpleasant lady indeed. Very curt, rude, and just not really customer facing in my opinion.
The place was clean, coffee was OK, views excellent, parking easy. Not going to let the manager put me off, but I will remember to avoid her in future.
A. B.
Lovely place, great for party venues, lots and lots of space, very picturesque and the staff worked really hard to give a great experience for all, thankyou.
M. S.
We have been in this place a few times.
The food is really nice quality. Whatever you order is tasty and well cooked.
If you like steaks then I recommend the sirloin. Also, the fish is really fresh and nice prepare.
Mockctaiks, cocktails and variety of drinks and beers.
You can sit indoors or outdoors in its garden.
Lovely place and great food. Unfortunately, the staff is really bad organised. The place have lots of employees but they seem to be really young and not really prepared to attend the customers when the place is busy.
Long time waiting for our food :(
Customer service should improve.
S. R.
Great pub, lovely food, huge outdoor area, lovely walk around a lake then along the railway line. Friendly staff.
D. B.
Came here for the first time. Had a very good welcome. Food was delicious. Steak was not done as asked but the staff were brilliant and rectified this. Desserts are to die for. Highly recommended. Thankyou for an amazing experience 💖
G. W.
Very impressed overall
Nice setting and country decor but fresh
Large amount of capacity, both indoor and out
Friendly attentive staff
Good food and drinks menu
Food was great
I had a passion Martini moctail as I was driving, it was beautiful.
The framyard roast (beef, pork, lamb and chicken)
One of the nicest roast dinners I've had in a restaurant. I will definitely go back.
Z. S.
Really lovely place for food and drinks. Very welcoming and the food was amazing! The only reason I give 4 stars is because the service was slightly slow in-between courses...but gave us time to make room for pudding! Highly recommended! 👍
D. R.
The perfect country pub. Great food & ale. Good atmosphere & often have barbeques in the large garden. Family-friendly & in a lovely location. Historical steam railway next door.
L. T.
Lovely setting, nice views, comfortable surroundings. Extremely busy Sunday lunch until 3pm-ish meaning long wait for food and drinks BUT worth the wait as was delicious.
Friendly helpful staff.
N. B.
Amazing place, very accommodating for larger groups. The food is delicious and the coffee is the best! The staff are friendly and offer great service. Thanks!
S. M.
Lovely pub, warm welcome, great food and pints.
n. h.
Fantastic place to visit. Very Friendly staff. We really liked the outside barbecue.
Great food and drink.
It's a good idea to prebook a table, it gets busy especially at the weekends.
T. W.
Lovley place to visit, great food and drinks. Fabulous service and very friendly staff
A. B.
The pub itself is very pleasant and in a lovely setting. Staff are friendly and helpful but sadly we weren't impressed by the food.
My wife and I both had Linguini, seafood for me, brocolli for her.
It was underwhelming. We both thought it bland and lacking in flavour and both wished we'd chosen something else. Also quite pricey (£16.95 each) for what it was.
I. A.
The place is amazing , I ate a Caesar Salad , but was not my type , I was a little disappointed by the food menu , nothing with chicken, just beef and pork belly, you need to go and order and collect the drinks and they just bring the food to the table. The stars are mainly for the location.
S. O.
A lovely pub for the sunny weather. Great staff alongside the food and drinks. A really nice looking outdoors section too for the summer. And dog friendly.
S. A.
Evening meal with work colleagues. Fantastic food and a great host. The garden looks like it's gonna be fantastic in the summer. We will definitely be back.
P. D.
A really nice pub...well worth a visit... excellent beer...friendly staff... fabulous location...went early in the evening and the locals had just popped on the way home...
Perfect.
M. L.
Excellent as always, just had a lovely anniversary lunch here. Beautiful surroundings, great service and yummy food! 👌
P. H.
Staff were mostly nice and fairly efficient. Ordered a mojito, but they couldn't make it because they'd 'run out of the ingredients', but couldn't tell me which ingredients they'd run out of. I suggested it might be the rum, and the staff member agreed. Crème brûlée also not available - apparently they'd run out of sugar. No roast meals available ... yes, you've guessed it - they'd run out. Horrible thumpy music playing outside 😒 The burgers were very good, though serving the mayonnaise in the original plastic bottle was rather crass.
This place has a good reputation, so we were really surprised at this comedy of errors.
Y. S.
Still really love this venue as a stop point while walking the Brampton Valley Way, and £5 something sounded fine for a pot of tea for two but when it came it held barely enough tea for one cup for one! Should have taken a photo. They kindly brought another tiny pot, but we were still left feeling that this wasnt great value. Come on Brampton Halt! The Sharing Nachoes were lovely though and good quality for less than £10, nice .... and great sevice as usual... shame about the tea!
L. T.
Saturday 17:00 - Didn't book but got seated on the outdoor terrace straight away with plenty of spaces. A really good scenic pub garden with two overflow car parks. Nice quality food, reasonable prices, BBQ looked good but unfortunately didn't get to try, average service. Would return to try more!
F. O. F.
Had a nice time here few days ago. Despite the extremely hot weather I managed go find a good spot in a shadow of a tree. Really good food and service. Being able to order your food through the app is such an innovating thing. This way fod gets straight to the kitchen and you don't have to wait extra for your order to be delivered, then wait again to beg the bill so you can pay. No cash is used which simplifies things so much. Order was delivered quick and was delicious. Highly recommend the burgers and pasta. Don't forget to go for a walk around the pond before you leave. It's quite nice down there actually.
You can tell this place is worth going to by the amount of people queueing up for a spot. Can't wait to go again for a meal
A. O.
Delightful pub and restaurant with a vintage railway attraction next door. Lots of variety on the menu. Table bookings recommended.
K. H.
Great pub, lovely food, pleasant staff, fair prices and a huge beer garden that is truly glorious in the sunshine. The reason for 3 stars instead of 5 - the volume of the music on a sunny Friday lunchtime.
They have great quality speakers all around the main terrace of the garden (where you'd sit to eat) so nowhere to hide. There are pub benches off on the grass which may have escaped the music but they were not set up for eating. I'm sure the loud music creates a great atmosphere in the evenings but at 1pm on a sunny weekday with just a handful of couples taking a lazy lunch, it was too loud and I had to raise my voice to for my companion next to me to hear me. It was a notable relief when there was a short break in the music to a point where a table nearby declared 'thank God.' The fact they were playing bland naughties stuff like Keane didn't help.
Please, please, please keep the music ambient during the daytime. It's a small issue but one serious enough for me avoid visiting the place for lunch again.
C. H.
Wow not just amazing food but the service is perfect staff seem to instinctively know when you need them and when you want to be left to eat differently a 5 star experience
S. C.
Great meal..good service ..well laid out outdoor eating area in "gazebo" Lovely way to meet family again!
I. M.
Post lockdown........ Visiting this picturesque country pub for the first time was a delightful experience.
We did pre book and changed our minds to sitting inside which was no problem.
Meal prices were reasonable with a meal special of 2 mains for around £18.
(we had the veggie 'Glamorgan sausages' which were lovely).
The pub has been decorated to a high standard, is clean with great staff and a stunning garden leading down to a lake.
All in all, a highly recommended way to spend a sunny afternoon in a beautiful location.
A. P.
A nice traditional pub that is really good for a family meal out.
The value of the food is really good for the prices paid here.
Would definitely visit again!
R. H.
Great outdoor space, lovely views and tasty food. We went at lunch and had the steak and cheese sandwiches, really good.
H. A.
A wonderful place, brilliant service, delicious food and most importantly, very testy Apple Cloudy Cider 🍻
Thank you all xxx
m. h.
Food was lovely and surroundings beautiful… highly recommend
A. S.
A wonderful atmosphere is always awaiting you at Brampton Halt. While the food is a little pricy I can assure you it is worth every penny. Even when something goes wrong, the waiters and waitresses are attentive and seek to resolve these issues as quickly as they can. It's a safe bet for a solid meal!
R. W.
It was a hot summers day and the pub was busy but there was plenty of room so you felt comfortable. I had the rack of ribs from the special board and they were excellent in taste and size of the protion. The hazelnut cheescake was delicious. Good food and good service. I will be coming back.
T. M.
Nicely situated in rural Northamptonshire..... plenty of car parking especially as it was sunday lunchtime.....food was excellent....one minor flaw which was sorted out amicably..... definitely one to revisit......5🌟
K.
Easy booking, dog friendly, nice staff. Food and drinks were nice but a little pricey. Service was slightly disjointed at times and a couple errors made, however nothing that wasn't easily rectified.
J. B.
Lovely meal tonight, staff really friendly, especially Connor and Katie. Food very tasty. Pleasant atmosphere too. Clean toilets, and very dog friendly too.
G. G.
Lovely sunny day; sat outside and had a very pleasant view across the pond. Table service is now available outside: the food came quickly and was as per the menu description; there was a wide variety of dishes to choose from and plenty of specials on the board. The waitress on our table was very friendly and helpful. We will visit again.
A. F.
Really pleasant staff and really great food. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. I would happily go again.
L. W.
What a beautiful place! ... fantastic food, great service, really lovely staff. Will definitely visit again.
R. P.
Absolutely amazing place, good food (not the best one, but it's good). It's better to go with sun. Has a nice lake, free parking. I recommend to book a table.
D. B.
Amazing Breakfast , great pub , especially In the summer 👌🏼
J. A.
Lovely meal... Staff really friendly and helpful... Nice place... Great night out with lots of giggles ❤️
J. S.
Very pleasant country pub in a scenic location good menu selection.
L. K.
Great food and wonderful service. Smiling happy staff who seem keen to be helpful. Children are welcome and are catered for.
(Fantastic gin too, I felt really spoilt)
The grounds are immaculate and there is a bonus walk by the train track just next door.
A. K.
My favourite summer pub. Lovely outdoor area with beautiful views. The food here is incredible and never disappoints.
L. D.
Cheerful friendly efficient serving ..Good menu choice. My daughter and I had a fish finger sandwich. Amazing and so big. I was paying for lunch, so was more than happy with the bill at £23 for two meals and two alcoholic drinks. Second time there, will definitely be returning. Good plentiful seating areas outside
P. W.
Small portions, high prices. Staff seems to be a little chaotic but in general nice place with open space and massive non smoking area outside. Recommended
V. N.
Hi we had a meal here today with my family the food was lovely the surrounding area was beautiful only thing that spoilt it was the £14.00 service charge considering we went the bar for drinks it was obviously for bringing the food please don’t spoil this lovely place by adding these hidden extras
D. S. (. D. S.
Nice place indoors and on the patio area, dog friendly garden is a nice option for some people too with a small lake at the bottom.
Service was quick and friendly too.
B. P.
Good location with lovely outside seating areas. Fab views. The food was excellent and staff were pleasant.
L. B.
Super place - delicious food, excellent service, great for a group Sunday lunch. Will definitely be back!
C. W.
Great food, great service, good selection of real ales! This is one of my fave pubs in the nice weather as it has huge outdoor dining area with excellent views. Busy night life venue, and the beer festivals are not to be missed.
M. T.
Food could have been a bit quicker. They were rather busy and seemed short staffed
The food was very good
E. S.
Loved this pub, great outdoor space, super happy and friendly staff and lovely food. We will be back
A. T.
Lovely country pub, loads of parking and a large garden. Can be busy at times, especially Sunday lunchtime but the staff are always quick to ensure everything goes smoothly. Great food also.
J. M.
Nice country pub. Recent refurbished so nice decor and atmosphere. Goid range of food and drinks.
F.
Delicious food, decent range of beers available, good atmosphere and fun staff. Really recommend it for a nice pub meal out.
P. H.
Very average food and quite pricey, their burgers look great but are tasteless.
S. C.
Good food and a great view from the terrace.
S. P.
Often go here ,lovely welcoming staff, lovely food nice feel to the place
B. S.
A group of 26 of us from St. Alban's Church , Northampton , had a superb Christmas meal in the restaurant last night. The food was of a high standard and the customer service we received was excellent, particularly from Amber who looked after us so well. Thank you very much indeed. I would strongly recommend this venue.
M. W.
So nice to be in such well run gastro pub! This is a great spot the food is excellent. Highly recommended
L. T.
So the pub is really nice and so was the food...it doesn't get 5 stars as twice our orders were taken wrong
S. S. (.
Very expensive but worth the money for the quality of food served. Not busy at all at lunchtime, so we got spoilt for attention. Ideal for any occasion, definitely give it a go but book first every time. We went for 12.30 lunch.
D. D.
Service, venue and food are always friendly, fantastic and delicious.
D. D.
Had to wait a uncomfortable amount of time to be seen and taken to our table. All the staff seemed to be nowhere.
The food was alright.
J. T.
Perfect environment to chill with family and friends. Food is good and big portion. Definitely will visit again.
R. B.
What a great place. Young, vibrant, busy (but not overly), beautifully decorated, best outdoor space I've seen (with heaters too). Efficient service and great food. With the music playing outoor at night, with the heaters on I felt for a moment I was on holiday. Faultless experience. Bravo!
H. F.
Good food, but expensive and charged £1.60 for small glass of soda water!
I.
Great place, lovely garden and surrounding area
L. A.
Great place for catching up with friends. Food was very good and staff were attentive but not in your face. Would have been better if It had not rained because the grounds were lovely to walk around. Loads of outdoor seating. Would happily return
J. C.
A very nice family dining experience.. The food was good quality and a variety of dishes to choose from... The children's menu was also a winner. The service was very good.. And the prices were reasonable... A relaxing day out. Which we will certainly enjoy again.
V. A.
Lovely spot for a sunny day! Great food, plenty of parking and attentive staff
S. S.
Great food, great location. A real gastro-pub.
S. Z.
Great pub and fantastic food , steak was delicious
D. S.
Noy good value for money.
When you get served poor quality salad
D. T.
Very busy.... Had to wait to order food due to amount of customers..... Worth the wait though.... Booked a table for next time
A. G.
Tasty food, service with a smile and a lovely location.
K. N.
A very warm reception and good service. The food is delicious and reasonably sized portions. I had the trio of sausages and mash (see pic). Very nice.
A. W.
We booked a table inside but were able to change to outside. Friendly welcome from staff and nice surroundings. Lots of empty tables despite online booking showing limited time slots. Food unfortunately was average and overpriced for the quality. Bones in the fish and frozen chips. Burger tasted fine but husband threw up a few hours later.😬. The men's toilets were "stinking" and "covered in p*ss"....maybe staff should check them more often? This pub was recommended to us so we were disappointed by our overall experience and will not return in future. Hopefully this review will help them to improve for future customers. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews but am always honest.
G. A.
Nice family meal. Pretty busy but the food was nice and hot. When it came . Lots of people sitting in the garden as well
G. G.
Great food, brilliant service. Will definitely go back.
E. O.
Excellent food and good service, not rushed to clear the table so very relaxed and enjoyable experience
M. P.
Absolutely love this place. Staff was incredible and food was just perfect. The atmosphere was great and we felt really well looked after. Will definitely return soon. 5⭐️
W. J.
I like Brampton Halt, especially in the summer when there is a BBQ and sometimes live music.
Inside needs a bit of decoration as it looks tired. Although the marquee area is nice for private functions.
The food is good and responsible price.
There is free parking and extensive grounds. So it is a good place for families and dogs.
You can also walk alongside the preserved Railway or ride on an preserved steam or diesel train.
C.
Lovely pub, our waiter Jake was brilliant. The waitress thought brought the food however put her sleeve in my husband's meal and didn't offer sauces etc and walked off. Our drinks were sitting at the bar for over 5 mins and had to ask for them. Food was ok, not £60s worth anyway. My mushroom linguine was disgusting, hardly any pasta and swimming in over powering garlic water, I couldn't eat it. My husband's mixed grill was over cooked and chicken dry and hard. Not impressed at all. Garden is lovely 😊
D. p.
Beautiful pub.
Ordered a beer and a gin, came within 5 minutes via the app.
Waitress was happy and smiling and the atmosphere overall was fantastic.
Amazing place to visit.
M. A.
Fantastic Sunday lunch with my partner and parents. Even though it was busy, the service was outstanding, quick arrival of food from the time of ordering. Lovely meal, will definitely return.
R. R.
Lovely place, beautiful surroundings.
Possibly very quickly after lockdown but staff needs to have a bit more attention to orders.
They were polite but not much aware of what is happening at the table (from the service point of view-eg details like I order a cappuccino and I received a latte, food order mixed).
But overall a nice night out!!! great potential to become very good 👍
P. K.
Great place to eat: very friendly, and good choices.
A. P.
The service as usual was excellent but the Gift Card that I presented towards the bill was declined. Admittedly, it was bought in December 2019 but the "Valid until" boxes were blank. It would be helpful if it could be made clear at the time of purchase that Gift Cards are time-limited.
P. H.
We visited on a very hot day and managed to get an outside table. Service was good and they encourage you to use the app which is easy to use and we ordered lager and food from the bbq, the mixed grill at £17.95 and the vegetarian grill at £13.95. The steak on the mixed grill was coooked perfectly, and I did feel that the portions for meat were quite small. 1 sausage a small chicken fillet and a small steak. The plate was mainly chips and salad with the salad taking over 1/3 of the plate. My wife's vegetarian mixed grill consisted of 3 slices of courgette, 4 small tomatoes, 2 pieces of pollenta which was soggy and small piece of hullomi. She said it tasted nice but we both felt the prices charged were too much for small portions. Beer good and cold. But prices are top heavy for a pub.
M.
Lovely atmosphere.
Busy pub. Good food.
D. S.
Excellent menu, food and service!!
D. O.
Had a lovely meal here on Wed 1st Dec. Staff very friendly and food was delicious will be back the gin and tonic was very nice too
b. r.
Wholeheartedly it's a picturesque location for a brilliant pub, tbh never have had a bad experience there myself, though will only mention with it's popularity means currently does seem to take a while when ordering through the app. (I know this isn't directly down to pub/staff) otherwise it's always been exceptional.
N. M.
Lovely food atmosphere and staff
J. E.
Always a good place to eat and drink I went with a party of 5 other woman, celebratory lunch. Food and drinks all up to a high standard and staff friendly. they were busy but getting extra rounds of drinks took time as did putting the food order in. Overall it was good experience but they just need to speed the service up. I would recommend and go again.
V. C.
Perfect lunch out after an early walk around the countryside xx very well organized our booked tables were under cover so even better as weather forecast didn't look good. Our food was delicious too x will book again next week 😋
D. W.
Tasty food and friendly service. Good selection of drinks and all at a good price
S. T.
Went for a lunchtime coffee, relaxed and clean, polite and friendly service.
P. O.
Genuinely good food. Always busy. Lovely outdoor area for both the kids and to simply enjoy the good weather. Make sure to book a take first.
C. M.
Perfect stop for a morning coffee after a walk along the Brampton valley way, dogs welcome too!😀
L.
Great food, great atmosphere!!
M. R.
Super evening. We had 4 tables in the outside area. The weather was poor and cold but the outside area was excellent and heaters were excellent at keeping us all warm... Staff excellent and managed marvelously with such a busy night...
A. S.
Lovely location, food was delicious
K. L.
Really great venue. Big outdoors area. Customer service is less than desirable but they always seem quite busy. Food tasty and reasonable 👍
T. A.
Lovely food, good service

Had the most amazing 6 hours for my sisters hen yesterday in the marquee.
We laughed, we cried, we ate and drank too much and it was blooming fabulous.
Donna I can’t give you enough credit, I wanted the day to be perfect (after cancelling and re-planning 6 hen do’s) you always responded to any query and let us have full reign of the music and decor.
The table service was attentive and easy and nothing was too much trouble.
I’ve had 28 messages today to say that they had the best day.
Thanks again. Will be back soon for an Aperol
Cheryl

Loads of outdoor space that is in full sun. If you fancy a Gin & Tonic or want to treat the better half, you can't lose. Nice place to walk the dog as well with plenty of dog bowls laid on for any thirsty hound.
H. G.
My partner described the pork trio as one of the best meals he's ever had! The food was delicious and the service was great. We felt well separated from the rest of the customers due to Coronavirus restrictions.
M. P.
Amazing place, great beer, disappointing food though.
C. B.
We have a lovely afternoon at Brampton Halt. The Service was excellent. The food was so good. The view was love6. I wished we had more time to walk around the grounds.
A. H.
Lovely location, great service, food Lovely
H. C.
Went for Sunday lunch, the service was fab, food was delicious and great quality and the staff were very friendly , would definitely recommend.
L. Z.
Very nice atmosphere, went there only for a hour for friends leaving drink and I must say I have enjoyed it. Clean tidy a d professional staff
I. W.
Good service, great location. even though the pub was packed, the food service speed was acceptable. Good selection of guest ales, gins and other drinks.
Food was good value and well priced for the quality.
Toilets were very clean - a good guide as to the cleanliness of the kitchen in my opinion.
Would I return?
Without hesitation, yes.
D. W.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent would recommend on a hot day would be nice to sit outside as they have a very big outdoor seating area
J. F.
Brilliant food. Quick service. I had the mixed grill and thought it was really good value for money. Only reason I haven't gave it 5 stars is because they charge £3.50 for just 2 onion rings, I thought that was very steep!
G. P.
Good lunch for my father and I.
t. e.
Very good helpful staff and the food was very good 👍
R. F.
Great pub really good food 👌
J. W.
Nice place for a drive out and lunch good and friendly service
R. G.
Food was amazing staff was nice and friendly! Free iced water on a hot day was very welcome even some for the dogs amazing time !
S. E.
Beautiful location. Very friendly staff, the menu is varied and a good price. They have a special on the menu where you can get 2 meals for £17.95 and also 5 appitisers for £15. It does get very busy so parking may be a problem on really sunny days as they have a huge outside seating area which is beautiful. A lovely pond to sit and look at. They also rent out a large marque for wedding etc.
S. L.
Food was amazing especially the Salted Caramel Brownie. Service was fabulous, each server we had was professional and attentive. Felt like they could not do more for us as customers! We were a big table there for a special occasion and even though we had to vacate our table, because it was being used by another booking, the staff found us another table in the bar area as we had a baby and a pregnant member of our party so we could continue our get together.
Would definitely recommend and would 100% return if I'm ever back in the area!
R. W.
Great food and friendly staff
D. S.
Had a nice posh finger sandwich, very nice. Great location would be nice to sit out in the summer. Plenty of parking.
A. M.
Interesting village destination pub for Northampton area with its railway history. Offers a BBQ kitchen option which is fun. V friendly waiting team. Would come again
G. A.
Good menu selection but with limited range of desserts available. Plenty of parking and seating, inside and out. Recommended.
S. H.
Great restaurant, beautiful setting
E. W.
Wonderful experience, amazing food
A. M.
We were a party of four adults and were greeted enthusiastically. We elected to eat outside in the table service area. The staff were great, service excellent and the food really enjoyable and, under the Government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme, particularly good value. Well done to all at Brampton Halt.
P. H.
What a great place Food was excellent and tasty
S.
Amazing food, service and scenery. The smell of the outside kitchen, the outside bar, seating area overlooking the lake. I'd recommend this place time and time again!
m. m.
Wow this place is amazing ! Set on a lake and green bank with seating. Service was easy and friendly. Had a gammon steak which was a full sized meal a tasty hot chocolate! Very railway based. Think there was a railway museum at the end. I imagine this place is amazing for a pint and a Sunday roast!
R. H.
Amazing food and atmosphere. It was quite busy while we were there but we were still well looked after will definitely be going back!
j. w.
Fantastic treat on Christmas Day absolutely wonderful menu and staff very helpful
B. S.
We were with a large party of 15 to celebrate a 75th Birthday and a Golden Wedding anniversary. Service was great but the food not so.
L. M.
Lovely place to eat, right on a walking trail. Good food, nice ambience. A touch expensive, but all in all, worth it
A. N.
Booked a table here on Saturday (19th Dec) and received a warm welcome, outstanding customer service and the food was amazing. We all really enjoyed the whole experience and can't wait to visit again - many thanks 💕
N. I.
Such a special place. Not the best coffee, but definitely the best atmosphere. Really pretty surroundings!
D. J.
Lunch time meal with work colleagues, could phone our order in to reduce the wait time and squeeze it in during our lunch hour. Lovely food as always.
K. C.
Lovely food, good waiter service, lovely surroundings. Definitely recommend
N. C.
The staff were lovely, and so was the food. I felt safe eating there with my little family especially due to the recent Pandemic. staff all wore masks and there was Hand sanitizer available for the customers to use.
J. C.
Great venue, to rent for an event and for a nice meal and drink. Great atmosphere and staff. Highly recommend
P. L.
Lovely place for food and a drink
T. B.
Staff polite and friendly. Wouldn't say value for money here as very expensive and small portions.
K. S.
This pub is great for any occasion. We recently attended a Christmas dinner in the extended marquee which was great fun. The food was great value and service was good considering we had a couple of attendees late, they were more than happy to wait. Great atmosphere, clean toilet facilities and a fabulous area outside for drinking and eating in the summer.
K. H.
Great service. Lovely food. Pleasant staff..exceptional area. Comfortable and cleanliness excellent..
T. A.
Went here for a Christmas meal with a large group. Overall things were okay, the drinks were somewhat expensive and the food could have been better.
I had ordered a mushroom and goats cheese risotto from the Christmas set menu. I didn't finish it as it wasn't nice and didn't taste anything like discribed. The marquee next to where we were sitting started playing loud music part way though desert so not ideal.
On a positive, parking was good and the staff were really friendly.
M. P.
Food was underwhelming.. meat practically raw and just fat and gristle... wouldn't eat there again.
Invited back by management and offered a free dinner after our previous experience. Food was much better. Had the half chicken so food was good.. dig friendly but no dog bowls for water. No staff checked up on our meal once served.
Won't be returning but its in a nice situation.
D. W.
Really lovely pub... fantastic food we had a really nice afternoon as the weather was out side is really beautiful and dog and children friendly
I. S.
Couldn't fault a thing. Lovely staff, great food at reasonable prices 😀. We'll be back soon.
D. W.
Highly recommend, delicious hot food, and great service
R. S.
Great pub to go to on the weekend. Really attentive service and the food was great.
G. M.
We were a party of 15 including babies and toddlers. The place was heaving, but the service was still very fast. The staff were very helpful and made sure the children were served first. We would go back and would recommend this place to others. The food was excellent and the cask beer too. Couldn't fault it.
K. H.
Lovely food, excellent service, we all had a lovely time.
S. A.
Nice location made up for average food. Service was good (4 out of 5). Overall it wasn't poor by any means, I just hoped for tastier food than I got. I had the Halt platter, but I expected more flavour and variety. It was busy when I went and there were small delays in service, but not unreasonably so.
B. B.
A great evening with friends food and drinks where excellent value a great time had by all.
A. S.
What a wonderful place in a beautiful setting.
Plenty of seating and tables indoors and outdoors. The food was excellent, but just a bit expensive, but this didn't deter people. It's recommended to book a table if you want to eat indoors as it gets very busy. A really nice choice for meeting friends on a sunny Sunday afternoon. A very memorable place indeed.
S. N.
Four of us had lunch today, all food ordered was enjoyed. I had the cod which was coated in a light batter, very nice. Good prices, particularly with their 25% off promotion. 🙂
D. R.
Visited late afternoon on a Monday, so was expectedly quiet. Food was great - we both had the Farmyard Pie from the specials board and it was really tasty, proper hearty meal. The meat was tender and the pastry was light and flaky. Service was friendly & attentive and the food came out relatively promptly, however this could have been a result of how quiet it was. Plenty of tables and seating in the restaurant and bar and also a very large outdoor seating area / garden which looked like it would be perfect for the summer; not so appealing for when we visited on a cold winters afternoon though! Overall, highly recommend this for a great british pub meal.
C. C.
Fabulous food and very friendly/ efficient staff. Location is peaceful and atmosphere good for a night of good food and beer. We arrived unannounced (12 of us) and they accommodated us as above. Will gladly return again.
C. B.
Food excellent, good variety of options. Staff were really efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.
P. N.
I'd usually give 5 stars for this place, it's a lovely place and the food is good but today was disappointing. It has heaps of parking and lots of outside tables but today, they stopped serving food outside at around 2pm and there were no tables available inside and there would be an hours wait for food if you could get an inside table. They have a large parking capacity and a large outside seating area customers. I feel they should be capable of serving that many people if they offer the parking and seating. Had to go elsewhere unfortunately.
S. w.
Lovely food superb views, will definitely go again.
S. K.
Food, staff and venue are lovely. However I was the only one to have the chef's signature dish and I was violently sick that night, so it dampened the whole meal experience.
M.
Nice and friendly staff.
Good place for a meal or drink with family or friends 👍🙌
A. L.
Wonderful birthday meal over a warm sunny Sunday lunch/afternoon. Extremely busy but rightly so. Food was delicious and well portioned, and service from all waitresses/waiters was superb. Most definitely recommend and will be worth a return visit soon.
R. P.
Nice country pub with a relaxed atmosphere in nice surroundings. It is next to a heritage railway which is great for the kids. There is plenty of parking outside and a large outside seating area. In the gardens there is a nice little lake complete with a swan. Food is reasonably priced and tasty thigh too much salt on the kids food. Very generous portions though. Dog friendly.
T. B.
Food was reasonable priced and tasted fantastic. The desserts tasted great and so did the Sunday lunch. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating and the outdoor BBQ was cool! Great place to spend an afternoon and a lot of fun getting to see the railway and steam train near by.
J. P.
Had lunch here on a sunny day so sat outside. We tried to book at the last minute but were told there were pretty full but still told us (family of 7) to come as they'd commodate us, which they did as we sat outside. We come here if family are visiting so on this occasion brought family from the states. Their used to big portions but didn't finish their food here, food is always of the greatest quality here and the portions are good too. Service is excellent you can't go wrong, staff are very friendly and helpful.
H. L.
Great food, great service. A lovely Friday evening atmosphere outside
D. P.
Large family-oriented pub restaurant with large garden. Near Lamport Railway.
M. R.
We love it here and go often. Its great for just a coffee or a full on 3 course dinner. Great any time of year but best in nice weather when you can sit on the terrace and watch the sunset. In the summer they do a really fantastic BBQ.
N. P.
Nice place for lunch. But sadly the flies and wasps thought so too... Could do with some wasp/fly catching things to keep them of customers plates. I'd drink outside in the lovely grassy area near the lake- but eat indoors! Food not bad - I've had better burgers for the £12 it cost me, but it was reasonably OK.
L. W.
Great place for a private function. Catering great. Location outstanding. One of the best pubs I've visited in Northamptonshire. Great views of the lake. Steam or diesel trains running on the preserved railway out the back of the building. Definitely worth a visit.
V. P.
Outstanding food quality and great friendly staff 6*...cosy restaurant railway station themed
A. W.
Plenty of outside seating for dining or just drinks. Can now order and pay via app. Service very good and polite staff
R. W. (.
Shared some tapas and it was really good. Nice patio and garden. The lounge singer in the pub garden on a Sunday afternoon was a bit weird, but not to worry! Would definitely go back to try out the rest of the menu!
M. C.
The food and service were both excellent. The staff could not do enough for our group
G. W.
We went for the beer festival. Staff are brilliant very helpful and friendly. The BBQ they have in the garden is one of my favourites, we had a lovely hog roast. They have added more benches on the grass so there is plenty of seating. Great family place. The only think I would suggest is for them to look into a play area for the children.
P. P.
Had a meal here Saturday and literally can't fault the place.Even though it was really busy food came out in good time (and was delicious!), staff were friendly and helpful. All that in a great setting, top quality will definitely return 👍
S. B.
Great venue for catching up with the team! Great food and service
C. B.
Brilliant staff who were really helpful. Lovely food and nice atmosphere.
M. C.
Always a great meal here
C. M.
Lunched today on the patio in lovely late summer sunshine. The pub was pleasantly busy, staff friendly and attentive, service prompt, food excellent and plentiful. Highly recommended!
C. M.
Awesome place, and always cool cars
D. C.
Did us proud with a table for 10 at 5 minutes notice after being let down by the Spencer Arms. We received excellent service at such short notice. Very polite and accommodating. Well done. We will come again.
D. C.
Great place to go with family or friends. Probably the best pub garden in Northampton for those rare sunny days, to top it all off there's also an outdoor grill where you can get some great grilled food. It's a dog friendly pub indoors and out (dogs allowed to the right of the bar).
K. C.
Nice pub, nice food and friendly waitresses
P.
Excellent food in a converted Railway station. Great feel about it. Friendly staff and great food.
d. m.
Nice surroundings for a walk pre or post meal
Beautiful food, great friendly service and good wines and beers
D. F.
Good food, nice atmosphere
J. W.
Good pub grub. This is a nice place and regular stop for me. The hunters chicken is my favourite ‘but’ bring back the onion rings!!! A nice pub and the best in the area IMO. Good value and friendly staff. Consistently good food, unlike other local pubs in the area.
C. O.
Wonderful sunday lunch with massive yorky puds and fantastic desserts.
Lovely gardens and outside decking looking at the lake.
B. B.
Friendly and efficient service for all ages - grandad to 5 year old.
Great food!
K. C.
This place is beautiful, the venue, staff, food and drinks. Great atmosphere and it'll keep you coming back for more!
K. R.
Good food. Friendly staff.great views. Very busy. Only issue as of July 2020 was that there were big groups of people eating? Only small amount of one way system happening :-(
A. M.
Excellent service again. Good food. Nice wines,
B. M.
Finish serving food at 9pm, quite early considering how busy it was. Pint of Guinness just under £5, great service 👍🏽
A. T.
Excellent food and excellent service
P.
Always enjoy coming here.. great place for a pub lunch and chilled afternoon.. great menu inc BBQ on those warm days. Staff are always pleasant and helpful too. I’d say it’s well worth a visit
M. C.
Great selection of pub grub and sweet desserts along with a fine selection of ales and beers or a nice glass of wine or two to go with a great roast dinner on a Sunday. For weekend lunch and dinners it's best to ring ahead and book a table. Staff are welcoming and friendly. They offer on occasions of live football and rugby matches on large screens but best to ring before travelling.
F. M.
I love this place, great views over the garden lake. outside BBQ's in the summer. Dog friendly outside, lets hope with the growing trend to welcome well behaved Dogs and their owners inside a bar area will be made available on those cold days please.
J. T.
Loved it. Great pub, lovely staff, nice atmosphere, food really nice. What's not to like ☺️
J. W.
The food was really wonderful. The staff were very helpful and all nice. Would recommend it to everyone. Will definitely be going again.
R. B.
Attended a wedding reception at Brampton Halt on 21-9-19 and we had really good time at this spendid venue. The service from the staff was very good and the food was excellent. Thoroughly recommend this place as a party venue or just for a meal and a drink. 10/10.
B. M.
Lovely food and real ale. But they did mess a couple of our orders up
R. G.
Fabulous food, great service all round 10 out of 10 from the Brown family!
J. B.
Great pub with lovely outdoor area. It serves really high quality food and is reasonable in price too. The only downside is the abolity to find a table, as at busy times it is simply over subscribed and too busy. But that is the price of popularity.
D. M.
One of our favourite places. Beautiful surroundings and garden, cosy but stylish interior with a good few events throughout the year. Nice walk along the railway next to the pub.
Delicious food options and different drinks. Definitely visit if you haven't before.
t. c.
Lovely looking place.
The celiac in our party was very well looked after.
The meals were very tasty and the portions were ample.
The only thing that let down the meals was the quality of the salad.
Most of our party had lettuce that was very limp and browning at the edges.
We asked for one salad without onions, which was prepared correctly, that seemed better quality that the others but in reality they had just covered the same lettuce with a few spinach leaves and tomatoes. If this is sorted I would probably be rating 5 stars.
J. L.
We weren't staying long so didn't get to try out the food, hence only 3 stars. Will call back. Looked very nice and the staff were friendly. Will try it when the weather is warm.
M. N.
The food is great food reasonably priced and the staff are so helpfoll nothing is a problem to them
E. H.
Great atmosphere, good food, good service and fantastic location. Outdoor area is great for eating or just to have a few drinks. Brampton Valleyway trail by the pub which means you can ride from Brixworth or other villages nearby rather than drive (if you dont mind a wobbly ride home after a few bevvies!)
M. S.
It's a beautiful place to go when you ain't being attacked by wasps while trying to have a nice cold beer.
V. G.
We had a lovely lunch the afternoon after a couple of hours walking Nene Valley Way Staff were kind and attentive. The food was delicious and my grandsons advised me of the same. Would hope to visit again sometime soon.
j. k.
Lovely Christmas meal. Portions rather large for me.
R. D.
Donna and the team at Brampton Halt were so lovely and helpful when we arranged to hold a Wake there, they made a very sad and difficult time for us much easier. So many of the guests who attended commented on what a lovely venue it was and how good the food and service had been. Thank you to all the team we would highly recommend using Brampton Halt as a venue.
H. B.
Excellent Service, Food and Hospitality. Held a Retirement bash for 60 people in their own Marquee. Everything was excellent. Staff exeptional (Tom and Faith) and special thanks to Tim (Manager). Nothing was too much trouble. The BBQ is to be recommended along with the restaurant food.
S. C.
Good dining pub with friendly service and nice food. When the weather allows it, plenty of outside seating.
Inside there is a table service area and a bar service area. One has table service and the other is order at the bar otherwise the menu is the same.
We called in as we were in the area and had been here once before in the Summer. Had two good, straightforward meals and a drink each. Service was excellent and food arrived promptly.
Beer OK and certainly a good range, counting in both cask & keg but my Adnams Ghostship was just a little disappointing yet drinkable enough. I didn't have another one.
Really worth trying for a family meal or an outing for a couple. Highpoint was the service.
J. U.
Five star rating because its a great pub in a fine location. The staff are very efficient and there always seems to be plenty of them. The only downside to this place is the smelly fosse, it wreaked the other day so much so we decided to leave! Come on guys get it sorted.
N. Q.
We lunch here when riding between Market Harborough and Northampton along the Nene Valley railway. We were filthy dirty, wet and muddy, no one was bothered. The hot sandwiches were substantial and well made and came pretty quickly. Its dog friendly as well with gluten free, free beer for the pooches, but not thirsty cyclists!
We have eaten here before, so it's a regular stop for us. Nice in winter and summer, but very busy when the sun is out.
P. M.
Went Friday and had to wait ages for bar service. Food is good but becoming very expensive for lunchtime. £13.50 for fish and chips is a bit of a rip off. Why do they only do lunch offers Monday to Thursday? Nice place but.......
P. G.
Nice setting next to heritage train line.
Ales are expensive - and 10% service charge added on top!!
J. C.
Food was good, busy place and a decent outside area too for when it’s sunny!
J. M.
Great food and drink and a pleasant walk with countryside views and interesting old trains
P. F.
Excellent customer service and tasty food at reasonable prices.
N. W.
Had the specials , black pudding fritters, Greek lamb and Thai fish cakes . Lovely flavours, cosy decor and friendly efficient staff. Immaculate toilets. 5 stars
C. F.
Went here a couple if Sundays ago. It was busy but well organised. Food was superb and staff really nice and very helpful.
M. M.
A pub with history as it began life as Pitsford & Brampton railway station. Nowadays converted into a good rural pub, with a heritage railway which runs mostly at weekends with old steam locomotives. Great character and lovely beer garden. Be prepared however for your bill to be quite expensive...
R. N.
Great food and a beautiful place
S. O.
Great pub with good food and service and super location and surroundings. If inviting anybody to sample a proper Northampton country pub, put this in your shortlist. Don't forget to check out the back of the pub where the old platform can be reached. If you are lucky you might find the gate unlocked for a short stroll on it. Very friendly for dogs with water and bowls provided and a nice walk at the bottom of the field around the lake.
P. G.
Such a lovely little gem! We have been going in December for 23 years, and never been disappointed! The food is only outdone by the incredible staff! Here’s to another 23+ years of annual visits!
P. W.
The setting is lovely, with lots of outdoor seating. It's right beside a preserved railway, with access from the footpath/cycle path that runs alongside the railway track.
There's a reasonable selection of drinks, and pleasant but overpriced food - mainly burgers of various sorts. The ordering on the two occasions I visited was slightly chaotic, with the waiting staff not knowing what table each order was for. On the first visit (a very busy Friday evening), we received the wrong order. The correct order never arrived (we did ask; another diner said they'd been waiting for an hour before they received their food), so someone else presumably got our food. We just ate what we were given. On the second occasion (in a party of about twenty, ordering separately), we were asked for our names when we ordered, which helped a bit. The food for our group arrived dish by dish over a period of about half an hour. The burgers were a bit dense, not particularly easy eating, although the sweet potato chips were good, as were the slightly oily onion rings.
All this makes the place sound a bit so-so, but the staff were cheerful, the clientele very lively, and the beautiful setting makes up for the slightly erratic dining experience. Is it a fun dining experience? If you're willing to go with the flow, yes it is. Will we visit again? Yes.
a. t.
We had a family meal here on Saturday and it was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Shall definitely be returning soon.
M. A.
Amazing food. Lovely range of dishes, cocktails, drinks and desserts. Wish I lived closer to it as I would eat here regularly if I could! Would recommend. Though expect it to be busy!
E. L.
Freezing night, sleet falling, but very warm within Brampton Halt. Food was beautifully presented and of excellent quality. Felt fully satisfied but not bloated - all in the portion control! Salted caramel brownie was lush but not too heavy.
b.
Cracking pub, amazing beer garden. Staff are all lovely particularly the assistant manager, Dan. Very pleased they now have Neck Oil beer on tap.
U. S.
Beautiful place inside and out, good service, good food and drink.
Also wedding venue which was lovely to see
E. M.
Food was ok but the staff were very unprofessional.
C. M.
Amazing !! Fantastic food, lovely staff & nice decor inside the pub. 😍
B. F.
Lovely setting, good food and a nice atmosphere. Can highly recommend
j. B.
Unusual setting. This is an old rail station which has been converted to a pub. Good food, well presented and very generous portions, ( I had Pork Belly and my wife had seafood tagliatelle). The real treat was the friendliness of the staff. We felt wonderfully cared-for during meal and can say we have seldom been in a friendlier establishment. There are lots of tables outside on a wide West-facing decking area but there is also slightly limited internal space, so definitely worth booking ahead before you arrive. We would certainly recommend Brampton Halt
H. S.
Not a brilliant visit this time. Ordered sea bass fillets which were very overcooked and each mouthful was full of bones... So not fillets! Partner had cod which looked grey as though it had been in the freezer a while Shame, it used to be one of our favourite places.
A. M. P. a. P.
Lovely pub in a superb, original setting. I had the Gammon and leek pie. Our lass had the sausage and mash. Good beers, cocktails and a high chair for mini mack!
N. C.
Went here on Christmas Eve and the staff were extremely accommodating and the food was great too. Can't fault this place from our experience.
G. Q.
Pleasant surprise, food was good service excellent would go again
K. G.
Nice pub friendly and polite staff good food menu but pricey
H. W.
Amazing atmosphere and great food with friends, making this a special evening.
T. M.
The best customer care in the county can be found at the Brampton Halt. The Team are impeccably assembled and have genuine enthusiasm for the customers. The menu is simply. The quality high and consistent. The venue is charming. I am a local. I consider myself lucky to live close by. To Tim, Holly, Selesta, Lauren, to name a few. Thank you.
S. C.
Based on most recent visit - Food normally good, this time it was dry and overcooked. Atmosphere is great and staff friendly. In fairness, they did agree that the the food was not up to par and reflected that in the bill.
J. B.
Great food, friendly and welcoming staff. I'd happily recommend a visit and a meal here to anyone.
H. S.
Beautiful place. We were there for a wedding reception. Drinks were expensive and the car park was small so the park attendant showed us the the car park across the road. It is basically a field. Food was lovely.
G. T.
Excellent staff, excellent food, excellent cleanliness excellent value the Halt has it going on well done for an excellent experience.
Small downside was trying to get on the wifi it's possible but way to many things to fill out.
In fact that worked to our favour we had our kids talking to everyone and socializing ...😊
r. b.
Great pub menu. Well presented and a good quality meal. Not cheap and cheerful but worthy of consideration for those who are looking for something more substantive without the feel of an upper crust restaurant
C. R.
Food and service excellent, nice friendly staff.
D. A.
Very enjoyable time , food was great with excellent service
M. V.
It’s a Pub not a fine dining. I do come to Brampton regularly and I shall say it’s better than most Pubs.
Good scenery, location and good Pub food.
Always a pleasure to be here. Service is decent for a Pub though.
Thanks
M. C.
Fantastic upmarket pub food, reasonably priced with large outdoor patio /seating area.
J. A.
Great food and large outdoor space for food and drinks. Perfect during Corona using the App to order food/drinks and have then delivered to your table.
A. R.
Fantastic pub, food was great and the service even better. Highly recommend.
J.
Great food. Tables distanced as per regulations. No staff in masks. Lots of sanitizer available.
Busy great food. Swift service by friendly staff.
G. M.
Nice pub, lovely setting. Only had coffee so can't comment on food or beer but staff were very friendly and accommodating.
A. W.
Wonderful place for having a pint of Real Ale.
Large beer garden overlooking the pond lake.
Very busy at the weekend. Booking is recommended for eating especially at the weekend.
m. e.
Brilliant! Lovely food, friendly and we'll organized staff, big thanks to all
R. H.
Service was great and the food was outstanding, lovely place too, always enjoy going 😀
P. J.
Just wonderful, a beautiful day, sun shining, we walked there from Brixworth, it was heaving, so many people, but plenty of room to sit outside.
Good choice of ales too.
Eaten here before, highly recommended.
T. M.
Very good food at a reasonable price. Staff were excellent and obviously well trained. Will be back next time I am up that way
L. D.
Very busy due to a gin and jazz festival but still goid atmosphere and good service. Food was fab as usual love this place for treats and also get together with friends always something going on.
K. P.
We meet here every year, the food never disappoints, I think this year was the best ever! The roast is just delicious. Staff are attentive and welcoming. I thoroughly recommend Brampton Halt.
K. M.
Lovely location, delicious food and friendly service. Will definitely be returning
L. M.
Kind staff. Great food. Great atmosphere.
C. W. C. G.
Came here tonight for our first visit. Food was stuffed vine leaves followed by chicken ballantine. It was beyond great a really wonderful mix of textures and flavours and a wonderful surprise as we dont know the area and just liked the look of the place. We will definitely highly recommend. Great service too as they squeezed us in but didnt rush us out.
p. l.
Best pub in town. Great beers, food and service is fantastic
N. S.
Spot on meal very popular place to eat clean and tidy definitely going back 👌👍👍
C. B.
Great country pub, good food, friendly helpful staff, plenty of atmosphere.
D. F.
Very popular for good reason - especially during the summer. Good food (+ a BBQ menu in the summer), good ales, efficient and friendly staff and set in a lovely location. Unfortunately there's nowhere near enough of the higher quality, comfortable outdoor seating on sunny days and as it's sited on the Brampton Valley Way it could do with some dedicated bicycle parking as there's nowhere to securely lock up.
M. M.
Wine ok but expensiveby the glass.
Fellow bar area customers language was offensive & very unecesssary. Men of a certain age should really know better🙉🙉🙉.
It was very cold inside the pub/bar area and would have been alot better if the fire had been lit.
D. W.
Lovely food but my only complaint would be that customers should be given the choice to have mushy peas didn't state on menus. I had to send it back as really don't like them and spoilt my meal out as it put me off.
E. B.
Nice and friendly pub. Nice food and very clean and tidy surroundings.
N. R.
Delicious food, very friendly staff. You feel like everyone is looking after you. After 8ish might become a bit noisy. Very good prices, just a great place to go out
M. H.
Excellent food tonight. Blade of beef was incredibly tender and douphinoise potatoes were just delightful. I had a very tasty lasagne. Desserts of brownie with white and dark chocolate chunks was devine. Top form tonight.
D. L. V.
Lovely food, in a very special location. The serving is fast and excellent. Absolutely lovely place

Lovely country pub next to an old (but still used) railway station. Large outdoor area with small canal nearby. Food and service very good with reasonable prices and portions.

Service was very good.
Food was generally OK.
Unfortunately, I ordered what that called game pie. It was very tasty, but a bowl of stew with a lump of puff pastry laid on top, is not my idea of game pie.
a of game pie.

Super place. Great location in the countryside and has a fabulous atmosphere. Extremely well presented and excellent staff. If you have any opportunity to visit when you are in the area its a big yes.

Staff were very friendly.
Food was very nice and prices were reasonable.

Absolutely love this place! Food was to die for, service was spot on! Only dislike would be that the tables are far too close together. I understand maximizing profits and space however it was just a little uncomfortable having a conversation and also hearing anothers.
K. G.
Brilliant..staff and food was really good thoroughly enjoyed out meal and afternoon...

Excellent meal, great service, what's not to love...
B. M.
Nice bar snd outside area. Generally good food and real ale with lovely wings, however the pie is just a stew with a dry pastry lid dropped on top of the dish

Had a lovely lunch, there was an "air" of normality with a nice atmosphere ...the staff were friendly & helpful and of course lovely food...the liver was to die for!

Staff are really lovely and food is delicious. Drinks are a little expensive but worth it for the pub setting on the lake.

Table service could not be faulted. Girls who served us were amazing and deserve 10 out of 10. I would have given 5 stars but food was mediocre so on this occasion the kitchen was the let down.

Great country pub. Great food and choice of beers. Lovely staff. Superb in summer with lovely outdoor space that rolls down to a picturesque lake.

Lovely country pub. Staff very friendly and lots of choices of drink. Didn't eat but saw and smelt it and it made us incredibly hungry and jealous.

Indifferent, backchat staff, slow service, when an explanation was was asked for, I was interrupted and the fact I gave how long it took each time, I was almost called a liar, even when we sat 3 yards away from a clock! Mains were brought out after our starters far too slowly, and slow to clear, time to take a pudding order was not good enough.. A discount was taken from out bill and a customer survey was asked to be filled in, out of good faith - they never left a pen to do so. My fish dish was below standard, even for a ready-made type pub.

Always come here if we want either cosy winter food or open summer BBQ. Large gardens and large lake on a old train line so very pretty ESP in summer when events are on in area. Nice eating area good parking good food and helpful staff . They have open BBQ area which u need to check.when they using it.

Love the atmosphere of this place but we did have problems ordering our food - although we made very clear we wanted dishes from the grill we still got the equivalent ones from the kitchen... This menu or system thing needs sorting out, seriously.

First time eating their the last time I came was i want to say about 10 or 12 years ago for Thomas's day out, I had a Rump steak medium-rare it was the best rump I've ever had it was so tender and from a chefs point of view I could tell there was a lot of care that went into that dish in a simply beautiful setting👌 will defo be back for the rack of lamb 😋

Very impressed with the anti-virus arrangements; excellent service; and another wonderful Caesar Salad, made as it should be - with anchovies!
